20 Best Hairbrush For Oily Hair (2023 Updated)

I was scriptural of brush styling my hair. Brushes have been my enemy since I was young, so I had my doubts. I usually finger detangle in the shower and might give a trouble spot one pass with a Wet Brush.

This brush changed everything I thought I knew about brush styling!! It literally creates ribbons in my hair, adds volume and bounce, and distributes product so well I have been using less. It has a lot of tension, so I have very gentle with the more damaged parts of my hair.

After applying my products I use this brush while my hair is still wet to shape the curls and add definition. It definitely creates clumps, I’ve noticed if the sections are too big I will have to pull them apart.

If you have fine hair, it might not be for you. I highly recommend.

I’ve had this brush for little awhile now and used it on a regular basis on the days I don’t wash my hair. I have long straight medium-thickness hair. I don’t use this brush when I have any product of any kind in my hair.

I have a boar bristle round brush that I use for shaping my hair when I blow dry it that I use on a more frequent basis than the Briogeo brush. I’ve had that brush for years. I do very little to maintain and clean that boar brush.

It doesn’t seem to require it. When I bought the Briogeo Vegan brush I was very excited to try it. It works well at detangling my hair, and distributing essential follicle oil, but I agree with other reviews that it is a little sharper and scratchier than I prefer, but my biggest con is cleaning this brush.

It gets staticky and attracts a ton of lint and is EXTREMELY difficult to clean. In the time I’ve had the Briogeo brush I’ve had a to clean it multiple times and the lint is near impossible to get rid of.

Unfortunately, this brush is just not worth the effort for me even though the price is great and I love Briogeo products.

I had this brush for almost a year and used it religiously. I appreciated a vegan alternative for a boar bristle brush. However, the round tips fell off the plastic bristles on it, and scraped my scalp.

I had begun to wonder why the brush hurt to use all of the sudden. And I noticed the missing tips after examining it. I don’t expect it to last forever, but I wasn’t expecting to have to replace it so soon, seeing as it’s nearly $30.

It simply does not fall into my budget to be able to repurchase this brush so often. So, I will not be repurchasing and not recommending it, unless you have enough disposable income.

My hair. Such soft. Like. Wow. This brush. So good. So scrubby. Scalp happy. Hair shiny. My follicles were singing some kind of ethereal verse known only to those who have achieved nirvana after a thorough brushing with this brush.

So enraptured was I with how stimulated my scalp was, and how soft my hair became, I couldn’t stop petting my head, attracting odd stares from my family, but they Know Not the Wonder that is a good brushing with this brush.

I received the boar-bristle hair brush made by Beauty By Earth. I was really excited to use this brush because I’ve heard great things about boar-bristle brushes. This brush packaging says it’s great for thick, fine, straight, curly, wavy, long, short, dry, or damaged hair.

I have long, thick curly hair and it did not work very well brushing it. This brush made my curls very frizzy and undone. It’s a good brush to have when you have to brush your tangles out every once in a while but not to use as an everyday brush.

However, my daughter has thin, straight very long hair and it works AMAZING on her hair! I noticed it takes her tangles out so easily and doesn’t seem to hurt as much as other brushes did. I don’t know why this review is asking how the scent is, but it smells like the bamboo wood! LOL.

I like that this brush combines both pure boar bristles AND the nylon pins. I have never used a brush like this before on my daughter’s hair but I’m glad I found this brush! The packaging says each long nylon pin is placed to help get rid of tangles while stimulating your scalp, while the shorter boar bristles move oils from your scalp to the tips of the hair.

I haven’t noticed oils being moved to the tips of the hair but I have noticed tangles are easier to get out. My husband keeps taking this brush and uses it on his beard. He says it leaves the beard nice and soft without pulling the hairs out so this brush has multiple uses!.

I usually use combs since I have long, thin/fine hair and was not a fan of brushes since hair accumulates on the brush. But I saw this was on sale and heard boar bristles are good for your hair. I just got this today and my hair feels amazing!! It doesn’t pull hard and feels so light even when there are tangles! Im now a big fan of this brush and will probably never use combs again.

For reference, my hair is straight and flat. It doesn’t get tangled much but during season changes, my hair falls out more than usual.

I have tried so many brushes for my daughter’s thick hair. She has hated getting her hair brushed! I wasn’t even confident by looking at this brush, but the first time I used it, I was so impressed! She said it didn’t hurt at all and it got the knots out.

I’ve found her brushing her hair more, which makes me happy! It’s well worth the money!.

I spent a big (for me) chunk of money last year after one of my regulars touted and touted this company. She has amazing hair, l’ange had amazing deals, I was making good money and hadn’t had some of these types of tools in nearly a decade.

When my box arrived, this brush was the first item I pulled out and took for a spin. Okay, look. I always knew it matters to have straighteners and curling irons from high quality brands. I knew ingredients in hair care products mattered.

I didn’t realize a brush could make as big of a difference as it does, but I was astounded at how quickly this brush made my hair look and feel different. I love this brush so much that I take it when I travel rather than buying a smaller and/or collapsible brush from, say, Walmart or even a dollar store.

It’s tough to make room for and it’s bent some of the bristles, but it’s worth it! That said, I want to buy a pocket-sized comb when I have steady income again, but when can we expect a travel series of brushes? I refuse to ever have a bad hair day (and thanks to l’ange I rarely do these days) but I’d like to travel conveniently and still have great hair!.

I absolutely love ❤️ the L’ange brushes. All of them. This boat bristle brush really feels great on my hair and scalp. I love that it pulls all my oils from my scalp area and pulls it to my ends and well all the way down the strands of each and every hair.

As I said I absolutely love all the L’ange brushes! I give them out as gifts all the time. Everyone that I have given one or more absolutely love them and said they will never use a different kinda brush.

And it gets all the tangles out easily. My mom was sick for afew weeks and wasn’t able to brush her hair. It was so knotted up the people at the hospital thought she was going to have to cut her hair really short to get the tangles and knots out.

Well not she didn’t she just needed her L’ange Sienna Boar bristle brush and it was as smooth as it could be. Looked amazing and the hospital staff couldn’t get over it. I made sure to tell them about my L’ange brushes all of them.

And I gave one amazing and kind nurse one I had put back for just an occasion like this. Thank you L’ange I love all your brushes.

Second time buying this brush, good size, easy to use but dips don’t last and brush hurts to use without them. I thought the first was just defective but second has same issue. Very expensive to not hold up any better than cheaper ones.

I have short, straight, thick hair, didn’t last more than a couple of months of every day use.

Love the brush as it works perfectly drying/styling my thick, coarse hair. When I started using this brush it would last for years. Now, the quality is not the same as the tips wear/melt off after a few months and my hair begins to pull and break off.

I have learned to pull out those with no tips and extend the life of the brush. Didn’t originally mind the price when it lasted longer. Now. not sure. Please go back to the original quality of 5 years or more ago!.

I have very fine short straight hair and it got tangled immediately! I recently got a bixie cut and needed a small round brush to give my hair a flip and oh my gosh! The brush was so tangled on my head I had to calm myself down to slowly untangle.

Worst brush ever.

Awesome! I wanted a flat brush for heat styling. The bristles are long enough to grip hair properly while styling and not letting strands fall out. The bristles are standing up to the heat well. The brush smoothes, softens and styles with the best! +At this price point it is the best!.

I really like this brush, it is very helpful with my hair. I used to have nice curly but as the number of grays inclrease it is mostly just crazy frizz. This brush really helps me get the frizz much smoother.

The only draw back is that it is a bit sharp–some of those bristles are quite pointy. I’d still buy it again though!.

i got this brush from my mom, who had short hair. i have always had long, thick but straight hair that can get mildly tangly. i was using the wet brush brand before. NOTHING – and i mean nothing – gets through my hair without pulling.

besides this brush. it’s insane, even if i have tangles it somehow gets through them without pulling even once. i thought i wouldn’t like a brush with all these small bristles but WOW!!!!.

Recently was in die hard need of a good brush that can help me untangle my long hair. Well I got two for the price of one, I got a full size and purse size. I bought this at local store and couldn’t wait to try it out when I got home.

It did a good job and untangle my hair plus the handle was non skid.

Finally a brush that detangles my fine hair! This is the first “wet brush” I’ve tried. I know you’re not supposed to brush your hair right after a shower when it’s wet, but I have to because my hair tangles so badly.

This brush does an amazing job detangling my wet hair without ripping it all out or damaging it, and it’s pain-free! I love the affordable price of these brushes. I’ve gotten many people to try it and have bought multiple brushes to keep at my boyfriend’s house, my bathroom, my overnight bag.

I love using the beard brush! I thought the bristles would irritate my skin but it’s soft and feels great on my skin and beard. Really helps distribute my beard oil and make my beard softer! I use it twice a day, everyday since I got it.

I thought brushing my beard with my hairbrush was fine until I ordered this brush. Talk about a much better result! It feels better and ends up making my beard look much better (both pre and post trimming).

And the quality seems pretty too notch, too.

As a brand new beard owner, I was unaware of what I needed or what worked. I appreciated the reviews that existed and am glad I ended on this product. It is my first and will be my last!

Nice looking, nicely made hairbrush. Was trying to replace my old Fuller brush which I loved, but is no longer available. This looked like a match, so I took a chance. Turns out, it’s smaller in every way.

The bristles are shorter and too soft to go through my long hair. The handle isn’t long enough to hold onto while I brush. It has actually fallen out of my hand! The bristle area in general needs to be wider and longer to work with long/thick hair.

Still looking for a replacement brush….

Not completely happy. The bristles are less stiff than the two other boar bristle hairbrushes I have recently had. (I gave one to my sister, and bought two new ones – one is yours that I plan to use every day and one from another German firm to put in my travel kit.

) I am not positive these German brushes are firm enough. It doesn’t feel like the bristle get through my hair and all the way to the scalp. I have straight grey hair which is abundant but not unusually thick.

I wear it short. My daughter (who has abundant but not thick shoulder length straight hair said she doesn’t like natural bristle brushes because they are not stiff enough to really pull her hair into shape.

I am trying to like your brush since it was so expensive. I previously bought a cheaper one that was even softer. Could you explain why a medium-soft brush like yours is what I should want?.

I almost hate to spoil the run of five star reviews this brush has but I just don’t understand how so many people love it? The brush came in a nice pouch, but when I first took it out, there were several bristles inside of it, so it was shedding bristles before I even had a chance to use it.

Then, when I touched it to my hand, the bristles felt really sharp. They also felt sharp on my scalp as I brushed my waist length hair, but since I have a bit of a sensitve scalp, I tried it on my little girl and my son to see what they thought of it, and my son ran away! They both thought the brush hurt.

For comparison, I have a Christophe Robin boar bristle brush that I purchased a few months ago and also the Dae vegan boar bristle brush and I have zero issue with either brush. I purchased this one because I’m always searching for the magical brush that will leave my long wavy hair looking smooth and shiny, but sadly, this brush didn’t wow me at all.

My hair looked fine after brushing with it and it didn’t pull out much of my hair, which was good, but I was disappointed because of all of the positive reviews. I was expecting to fall in love with it.

I hope it works for you, but if you have a sensitve scalp like I do, it might be good to consider a brush that’s a bit more gentle.

$62 for a hair brush is a tad pricey for me… but I took a chance with 20% off during the spring savings event and OMG so happy I did, this brush is amazing!! I have long thin to medium hair and I’ve been on the hunt for a boar bristle brush just like this to use between wash days.

Love that the nylon bristles do not have dots at the tips, which makes keeping the brush clean so much easier. This is a very well made brush, is a perfect size, not too small or too big, and is a good weight, not too light or too heavy.

I use on dry hair only for the exact benefits listed… encourage growth, add volume, and distribute natural oils for softer, silkier strands. And it feels AMAZING on the scalp too!! Such a great purchase, highly recommend.

Let me preface this by saying that under normal circumstances I would not be buying a brush at this price point when there are perfectly good ones at TJ Maxx for $5. 99. However, these are not normal circumstances.

The Spring Sale is on, my guard is down, and after several days of deliberation and a couple of rounds of being out of stock, this got promoted from my loves list to my front door. Tell me why I used this for the first time today and out of nowhere my husband compliments me on my “bougie” hair.

Not on the day I painstakingly use my curling wand to style my hair (ok, maybe the pompadour vibe is not everyone’s cup of tea). But today – wash day… all I did was wash, brush with this magic maker, air dry and then **BOOM** —-> compliment.

Coincidence? I think not.

The hairbrush is very good quality. However, I was hoping for a brush with stiffer bristles as I have thicker hair that I let grow a little longer as the weather cools. As a person with a dry scalp, I wanted stiffer bristles that would stimulate the scalp and help with dandruff.

This is a well made brush, but too soft for my hair. The description is accurate: best for fine or thin or damaged hair. It is so soft it won’t penetrate thicker hair, so take that into consideration if you’re thinking about ordering this brush.

I bought this brush about a month ago and use is multiple times per day. I have not had the problem like others of bristles falling out, a few, but not many. I have long very thin hair, but a lot of it so when it is wet I have some trouble getting the soft bristles through my hair, but if I section it and brush it works perfectly.

I am going to get another one for my mother!.
