20 Best Hair Spray For Volume (2023 Updated)

I love the spray and play sexy hair hairspray. I feel it gives a lot of volume and it doesn’t make your hair too stiff. There is an additional spray and play harder sexy hairspray and I also use that if I want to make sure my hair doesn’t move.

I gave it four stars because the cans are extremely cheap. Not long ago I bought a can of hairspray which is pretty expensive for hairspray if I could remember right I believe I paid a little less than $20 for it and I came home and the can dropped on the floor.

It must have hit something when it dropped because the aluminum on the can was so cheap it poked a hole in it and all the hairspray came out. I wrote to the company but the company just ignored me. I don’t feel the company has good customer service they should have acknowledged my letter.

But they are not a company that I feel you could turn to if you have an issue. Sometimes the nozzles will not spray so I make sure if I’m purchasing at a store I spray a little bit in the air to make sure it’s working.

I buy the 10 oz and I’m happy with the way my hair looks. I will blow dry my hair and then spray a little on my hair and blow dry it again. Then I will take each strand and spray the root area with the spray and play and then I use a curling iron and I actually wrap it in a curler.

After I’m done with my hair I will take a hair dryer and slowly count to 10 in each section. Now the trick of it is to make sure after you blow dry your hair you must let your hair cool in order for the curl to set in.

You will get a lot of volume if you do the above. I like the product I just don’t like the thin cheap can that it comes in. I would buy it over and I do purchase it but I think the company needs to be a little more responsible and courteous when there are complaints coming in.

I got a giveaway by sexy hair spray. I tried it immediately after I received it. I opened the lid and smelled a little bit of pitaya and flowers. It smelled very good. I sprayed it and felt a little sticky on my hands.

I combed my hair into the desired look, and sprayed a few hairsprays. The styling effect did not show up immediately. It was a bit soft. After a few minutes, the effect showed up. It should be that the hairspray is not hard enough.

If you want it to be hard The kind of hairspray that needs to buy a harder hairspray. There is no problem with this hairspray for daily use. It does not feel sticky when sprayed on the hair. It is easy to wash with water.

The bottle design is also very beautiful, and it is a large bottle. like it.

This picture is the old packaging but same product. My favorite hairspray ever. Such great hold but not sticky. It’s also great if you like to brush out your curls since it’s not super stuff you can brush through after using this.

I even love to spray it on my bangs after blowing them out. You can usually find this on sale at a TJ Mac or beauty supply store, but even if you get it full price it is totally worth it. This bottle has lasted me forever.

I have bought this hair spray three times in the hopes that each bottle would not leak from the spout. I returned the second bottle and the same thing happened. I love the hair spray but after three bottles gave up on it.

It sprayed on my clothes and went in different directions. I contacted the company (not because I wanted another can) to alert them in making this product’s nozzle more efficient. They replied that they were going to send me another bottle of spray but that it would take a couple of months.

That was about 3 and 1/2 months ago and haven’t heard anything from the company. Shame too as I liked the hairspray.

Hairspray. I’ve tried so many over the years. Expensive, bargain basement, sprays, spritzes, pumps. I get one I love and they change the formula, or I can’t afford it that month. Well, in a moment of desperation, I found myself at Walgreens, and I stumbled across this gem of a hairspray.

Dont. just don’t. This crap is trash. It will destroy your hair. It will gum up with the least bit of moisture and in the south. that’s all the air is. moist. It does such a fantastic job at texture but then it turns into a nightmare that will have your hair so stressed out.

It makes it look dull and dingy. It turns powdery with a few minutes. Then when you try to wash it out. like glue. Sludgey glue.

I’m not sure why others had a problem with this product, I had none. I’ve bought two and finished them both. Let me say the powered by air pump is the best ever developed!! Why did someone not think of this before! I used the #3 medium hold.

Both bottles sprayed perfectly. Held my hair in place better than any of the previous hairsprays, natural or famous brands, over the last few decades! Best part it combs out and washes out easily. Doesn’t make you hold your breath when spraying.

Could actually walk back in my bathroom without feeling like a toxic bomb went off, was not left with a heavy chemical perfume odor PLEASE KEEP SELLING THIS PRODUCT.

It is both vegan and cruelty-free and does not contain parabens or alcohol. I have had the opportunity to review and test this hairspray for free, thanks to Chickadvisor. I tried using this hairspray in a few different ways.

I tried using it to help hold a braided hairstyle in place; to tack down frizzies and fly aways; and before styling with heat tools. After testing, I have found that this hairspray really isn’t like a traditional hairspray.

It really is more like a scented hair mist that is meant for control of frizz and fly-aways. It does both of these things well. If I use a spritz or two and brush out my hair so it’s smooth, it will stay that way, free of frizzies and fly aways.

Also, it doesn’t leave your hair feeling stiff, crunchy or sticky. It makes your hair smell of coconut milk and fresh jasmine. I did not find that this hairspray really provided much actual hold of my hair when it came to styles like braids or with hot tools.

I also found the consistency of the spray nozzle to be, well, inconsistent. Sometimes the mist is fairly fine, while others it comes out in bigger drops. It can make controlling the amount that is applied to your hair difficult.

I personally probably wouldn’t buy this hairspray, mainly because I prefer unscented hairsprays, but also because I would like just a bit more hold from my hairspray. But, I would say that this coconut and white jasmine hairspray is a good fit if you are looking for something to tame frizz, fly aways and leave your hair scented.

If you are looking for anymore hold than that, or if you really dont want a hairspray whos smell is going to stay with you all day, then this isn’t the hairspray for you.

So I wanted to wait a while to really get to know this product before leaving my honest opinion. Influenster sent me this product for free in exchange for my completely honest opinion of it. After some trials with the product in a variety of settings, here is my honest review.

This product and the company are definitely pushing the green movement. Products that are environmentally friendly and animal-cruelty free which I can definitely get behind. However, if you read the products label closely, you’ll see that the container is unable to be recycled.

Because it is in fact plastic, a company who is claiming to be all about the earth still has yet to figure out a way to package their products in a similar fashion. That surprised me. Now the product itself had great hold.

I used it before going to the gym on multiple occasions and it was able to hold back my loose hairs through a mix of cardio and strength workouts. However, I was not a huge fan of the smell of the product.

It reminded me of an elderly woman’s perfume. I also found it kind of interesting that the bottle itself is operated by a ball of air at the bottom of the container. However, I have not used enough of the product yet to know if this ultimately leads to unused product because I cannot get it out or anything like that yet.

So. I give this product a 3 star review strictly due to the strong hold, but with points taken away for the non-eco-friendly packaging and gross smell. It may be someone else’s cup of tea, but it wasn’t mine.

I have very fine hair and most hairsprays weigh it down. This spray just does what it says – you can comb thru it and it gives my hair body that lasts. I only use it after a shampoo – not in between.

No, it’s not scented with perfumes – which I don’t want. This scent is a neutral scent to me that goes away quickly. I don’t want a hairspray that has a strong perfumey scent that conflicts with my body creams or perfume.

I love that they make a nice travel size (not a super mini of other brands like you see in travel bins. Please don’t change this. I read the one and two star reviews. They were mostly about scent. I have been using this for about 7 years in my curly, fine hair. I always start with a hair product for curls but I need to finish that with a light hairspray to hold the curls all day. If is skip the hairspray my curls get very droopy by the end of the day.

I have never been a big fan of hairspray – I do not like my hair to feel/look stiff and crunchy but living in the South with high humidity, a product with hold that helps keep down the frizz is a necessity.

The Nexxus Comb Thru Volume Finishing Mist fits my needs perfectly! I have naturally curly long hair that is fine in texture. My styling routine is a round brush blowout followed by the curling iron for loose curls (yes-I get rid of the curls then put more in lol).

I spray a little of this product on each section before I curl it then loosen the curls with my fingers. I then do a light spray of it after. My curls stay perfect all day without getting frizzy. and my hair still moves naturally.

It has a nice scent also.

This was out of stock for awhile and I had to ration it lol. I tried others but none compares! Smell takes you on vacation but isn’t offensive when used for a long time. My hair is long and chemically straightened.

It loses the volume you are used to with your curls. This product I spray on roots and give a light spray all over. Hair then has natural looking volume and holds beautifully. Gives shine to blonde hair when blow dried.

This product is just perfect formula and I highly recommend it!!.

I usually like anything OGX puts out but this hairspray and my hair just don’t agree. It makes it heavy and greasy looking. Never had a hairspray do that before but this does. I’ve tried on multiple occasions thinking it was the humidity or something but it happens every time.

I get better volume from dry shampoo with no greasy look than this hair spray.

Bumble and bumble’s Thickening Dryspun Texture Spray is a translucent, dry finishing spray that adds lift, airy fullness, and texture – instantly. This product has a really fine mist, a non over powering scent and does not leave the hair feeling like there is too much product in it.

For the most part I apply it like I would dry shampoo, close to the root. A little goes a long way. This texture spray gives my roots a decent amount of volume. Sometimes I do apply it further down the hair on days I wear it curly just to keep my hair from falling flat to my face.

It has a good hold, doesn’t feel thick and weigh your hair down like hair sprays can do. The packaging is beautiful and works great! The only downside to this product is the cost. I think $30+ is a bit difficult to justify.

Don’t get me wrong, its a good product and does what it claims for the most part but it wouldn’t be something I would reach for, for everyday stuff knowing how much it costs. I received these products for free from Influenster and Bumble and bumble in exchange for my honest review.

I really like this product! The Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dryspun Volume Texture Spray does exactly what it says it does: it adds volume and texture and it does it well. It doesn’t make your hair look crunchy and it has the perfect amount of hold.

The spray adds texture without making your hair look like you applied too much hairspray. It is easy to brush out at the end of the night and a little goes a long way. You don’t have to wash your hair to get it out.

Just brush it out and rock that second (or third) day hair. It also smells really good but it isn’t overpowering. The smell quickly fades once applied, which is just fine with me. I have thin, flat hair and this gave me the long lasting volume I was looking for.

Many products don’t work for my stubborn, flat hair, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this works. All in all, this is a new staple product and I’ll definitely be repurchasing.

I have the most baby fine and thinnest hair ever that never wants to hold any wave or have any volume whatsoever, but I’ve solved most of that problem the past year+ by using the Thickening shampoo & conditioner regularly along with Don’t Blow It (Fine) & BB Prep primer.

I stopped blow drying years ago & don’t like to spend a lot of time on my hair, & this all works for me and my hair looks & feels better than it has in years. I like the Dryspun spray but don’t use it that often – on an everyday basis I usually opt for the Pret-A-Powder Invisible Dry Shampoo spray or the powder for extra volume, and spritz a little BB Does It All for a bit of hold.

The Dryspun spray gives a lot of volume and holds well without being crunchy and works great, but it does have a little stronger scent to it than I’d like (I’ve tried but don’t use the Go Big Treatment and the Thickening spray because of their strong scent as well).

I definitely do use the Dryspun spray for more special occasions – if I’m going out to dinner or an event or somewhere where I want to make sure my hair looks good and stays that way, I’ll reach for the Dryspun spray instead of my everyday routine.

If for some reason I really want to floof up my hair bigtime, then the Dryspun spray is definitely the go-to for that!.

As someone who rarely uses hairspray, I have to give this a thumbs up. Redken Triple Pure 32 Neutral Fragrance High Hold Hairspray is the truth. I was able to wear my curly mohawk style with no worries of my curls falling.

I couldn’t have done that with other products I used before. Another plus for me was the smell. Some hairspray leaves this lingering smell that i hate but this product completely shocked me with the light fragrance and i actually sprayed a little more just to get another sniff or two.

LOL I highly recommend this product fir anyone needing some tough holding spray in their life.

I would recommend trying this out, especially if you have loose spiral curls like I do. I love to use this after applying a leave in conditioner and twisting my hair around my fingers to help the spirals from becoming frizzy, and that combo makes my hair look amazing and it lasts all day!.

I bought the trial size, and the first time I tried it, I was immediately struck by how strong the fragrance is. I also found that I needed to spray a lot in my hair to see a noticeable effect compared to other texture sprays I’ve used.

I suppose this is actually more of a hair spray (for hold) and not as much of a texturizer. Anyway, about an hour after I applied it, my boyfriend came home and immediately commented on the strong smell which had filled the entire house.

Cons: it’s overpriced and the contents don’t last long if you use it every day. If the product lasted longer I wouldn’t have an issue with price. I recommend this product for those who have fine hair and don’t want a heavy texturized feel.

This definitely more of a texturizing spray rather than a hair spray but I don’t even mind that the holding power isn’t “strong” because it’s PERFECT for what I use it for and no other product has come close.

Back before the quarantine days, I used to style my hair a lot more (wands and straighteners) and this spray was great to give my hair an almost “lived in” feel. It would mute my curls and add a little extra umph for my straightened hair.
