20 Best Grooming Glove For Dogs (2023 Updated)

I am not sure if it was a lack of common sense or just my dog’s hair type, but I expected that most of the hair would end up in the brush and not all over the floor. I have a Jack Russell who sheds like crazy and is terrified of brushes, so a glove brush was the perfect solution for us.

The first time I used it, I was disappointed with how little hair there was in the brush bristles. I just assumed that it was not working well because of my dog’s short hair. It was not until after I finished brushing him that I noticed a pile (and I mean PILE) of short hairs all over the floor.

Literally a two foot radius blanket covering of small, thin hairs was all over my tile. I guess the brush worked better than I thought. I would recommend this for dogs with longer, thicker hair that can actually catch on the bristles.

This was good for preventing future shedding because it seemed to pull out loose hairs from underneath his top layer of fur. It didn’t do much however for all of the thin loose hairs that were already on top of his fur.

Xena loves being brushed. Like, REALLY loves it. I’m pretty sure she would kill a man to get brushed. You’d think an 11-pound cat couldn’t kill a man, but my professional recommendation is that you do not test that theory.

She has a longstanding relationship with the traditional soft-bristled cat brush, but she also has a longstanding relationship with all of my coats and bags and I’m a LITTLE tired of wearing cat hair wherever I go.

That brush was brave, but Xena is extraordinarily hairy. I can’t blame it for coming up short. Enter FurBuster 3-in-1. She was skeptical at first, but the novelty attracted her. I love the rubber bristles for de-shedding her a bit, and the soft side for giving that hair a place to go that isn’t all over my house.

Xena loves it because it is the worship befitting a supreme overlord of ceaseless cruelty. If only she would let me stop. Overall, great product!.

I have an older mitt, have almost worn it out, love it. But, the new ones (3) purchased are defective. The rubber tooth side is fine, but the hair remover side was sewn on in the wrong direction, will not pick up hair.

Quality control is my guess. Very disappointed.

These aren’t that shark proof chainmail. They’re not even the professional kevlar gloves. These are no where near as expensive as either of those, although the high dollar professional gloves would be preferable, if in the budget.

These do blunt the blow of small teeth and claws enough to keep most from penetrating. Some still get through a bit, and bites still leave bruises, but these are better than none. The fingers do hamper dexterity.

They’re a roomier than necessary, with fat finger tips shaped like those on leather work gloves, so not good for pilling or other finer work. I know there are gloves with open finger tips because of that, but that leaves you open to some serious bites when working with unfriendly feral cats.

Also, the appearance of this type of glove can frighten even calmer cats, so you have to gauge when they’re appropriate and necessary.

FOR THE money, they do the job. Good quality fabric and dexterity while using is at least ok. I used mine to bath a cat and they worked well. They are water resistant but you have to realize that water is going to get in via the gloves OPENINGS as the dog/cat sloshes around.

Drip dry after a few days, no big deal. Look pretty sturdy. May recommend duct taping (really) the gloves opening to your arms so that they have no slippage and water cant get in. The water getting in was not a big problem though.

Stury and thick enough to protect from most bites. WOULD BUY AGAIN.

I trap cats for TNR in my own backyard and in doing so, all the cats need to be released back to my yard. Over the years, some have stayed, as I have food, water, and shelter for any cats who need any of those provisions.

One cat is very appreciative of having her needs met and she wants me to pet her from time to time. She can get over stimulated and she will swipe or bite out of the blue. These gloves keep me protected while I give “Marmaladee” some attention.

They are on the thin side – and that is not a bad thing – I say that more out of, they are easy to move your fingers vs. having gloves that are thicker and more restrictive in movement. I am very happy with my purchase!.

Before my cats were full transitioned into indoors, they would she’d like crazy around April till June/July. And these gloves were just wonderful. Easy to put on, relatively easy to get the layers of hair off the gloves and off your cat lol my cats tend to be very skeptical, but they took rather well to these things and I would spend at least 30 minutes at a time on each cat because they would just love it.

I found these to be pretty helpful for getting the hair off your clothes after a brushing session as well, not perfect, but good enough where I don’t look like a human lint roller anymore haha hair will also constantly just be on them, so try to not worry about them always being perfectly clean or hairless because the gloves are meant for hair to begin with.

I got larges so my cats also had biting room as they’re biters! Works great for that too! They don’t need to fit your hands perfectly for then too work! Promise! Love them!.

I’ve owned several similar grooming gloves before but they always came just one, not in a pair. These HandsOn gloves come in a pair, which is helpful in getting the job done more quickly. They also have better, more defined bumps to catch and hold the pet hair and allow you to reach smaller areas such as around your pets face.

I have found that it is difficult to remove the accumulated pet hair and I have to remove one glove to get the hair out of them both. Other than that they are a great tool. I was hoping that my cats who don’t enjoy being groomed would appreciate these since its just me petting them.

But as soon as I don the purple gloves 3 of my 5 cats run off the same way they do when I am holding a brush. One of them is happy to have me use the gloves on him once I can nail him down (he’s a neurotic cat anyways!) but the other two still hate being groomed, gloves, brushes, microfiber clothes, doesn’t matter.

This product works super well. I use it dry and during baths with my golden samoyed mix. He’s all hair and this helps loosen it up during bathing and between furminating. I can even use it on my cats.

The Pets Know Best-True Touch 2 Sided Grooming Glove is very comfortable to wear. It is nice and flexible and that makes it easy to use on my cats. I was surprised at how much my cats liked the feel of the glove and it seems to remove loose hair very well.

My dog Lilly is 14 years old today and she really seems to enjoy this glove grooming a lot more than her brush grooming. I think that it soothes her quite a bit and that is something that a pet brush never did.

I really like the dual-sided nature of this glove. The lint/hair removing side really removed a lot of pet hair from my chair. This glove has a third use according to my toddler grandson and that is as a scary monster glove.

This grooming mitt gives my dog a relaxing massage while removing hair she has shed. I mean, all of it! I gave her a bath a few days ago and then used this mitt to brush her. She loved the feel of the mitt against her skin and the hair removal was fantastic.

I went ot he garbage can like 5 times. The hair just peels away from the mitt after brushing. The other side of the mitt is like a magnet for stray hair on furniture or other surfaces.

Love this glove, so do my cats. It works good on removing loose hair. Easier to get to some places than a brush. Like their legs, their backside. And they just love how the “fingers” feel on them. I have 3 cats, when I start using it on one of them the others line up.

The product is great. I use it to freshen up the area where my older cats can’t quite make it to the litter box. I bought three things, Spot and Stain + Oxy Bundle, and the Grooming Gloves. All were very good quality and ample size and volume of the product.

I can use them for a long time. The thing I want to make sure to express is: this Bissell company has excellent customer service. I bought these products online on a Sunday. I made a mistake and sent them to my Mother in Texas.

These gloves work quite well. The only reason I have 4 instead of 5 stars is that the hair just flies EVERYWHERE. I’ve had other grooming gloves and the hair will stick to the gloves for the most part and you can just rub them together to remove the hair.

With these nothing stuck it just flew. So while I would recommend these I would recommend they be used out of doors. I did like them when I bathed the dog, they loosed up all that shedding hair very nicely and she just loves the way they feel.

When she sees them, she comes running. I was not aware that Bissell offered a product such as this but I would buy and recommend them but I will not use them in the house again. The fit was very nice and exactly as I would expect a large to fit.

I’ve used other gloves similar to these and while I may like the way the pet hair sticks to them I DID NOT like how they fit, I just swam in them and I don’t have small hands. Once they got wet while bathing they were even worse and I’d end up taking them off and just rubbing the dog with them the way you’d use a washcloth.

However, with these there was no such issue. Love that. I did not use these on furniture as I don’t allow the dog on the couch without a blanket but they were also great for the carpet where her favorite sleeping spot is and was also great for ther dog bed.

I didn’t realize how much hair was there until I started brushing at it. I was appalled but thrilled that the gloves worked so well!.

Disclaimer: I received these gloves in order to provide a fair review. I had seen other similar products but not purchased any. I have 2 dogs, one long-haired and one shorter-haired. The short-haired dog does NOT like brushes and she really liked these gloves.

They must feel good to her because she tries to shy away from the brush, but stood perfectly still while I had on the gloves and used them on her. The gloves did not “pick up” her hair in the gloves.

It rubbed it off her back, but then I had hair flying around and piling up on the ground, so not ideal. The long-haired dog did not mind the gloves either and he also dislikes the brush. More of his hair stayed in the gloves and could be lifted out as they became full.

They did not seem to take off as much hair on him as the short-haired dog. I did not use them in water to bathe either dog, although I read they could be used that way. In conclusion, I would probably not purchase these gloves for hair removal, but they must feel really good so perhaps they should be marketed as massage gloves.

I will continue to use them on both dogs but will use them outside to eliminate the mess. I would not recommend these as a great hair removal tool.

I received this from influenster complimentary from influenster for my honest opinion and review. 1st off, let me start by saying the positives. It is lightweight, and sturdy(for the job it needs to do), my dogs absolutely loved it.

they felt like iv was giving them a massage and in turn their coats got so shiny. it didn’t collect much hair as i own a purebred pit bull and an Australian/German shepherd, but they’re pretty short coat animals to begin with.

my aus/germ has a slightly longer coat, and it made his fur silky Smooth. when I stopped they both would literally act like cats and start rubbing up against me and bark. lol. I tried it on my cats as I know you can use them on cats and they absolutely hated it.

haha. the only negative is if you’re a bigger person, particularly a man you might have issues with it fitting comfortably. my husband’s 6 foot 1 and about 275 and has very large hands and it barely fit him.

he didn’t want to rip it so he didn’t keep it on. so, if it could be adjustable size that would make it so innovative and better in my opinion. overall, I am extremely pleased with this product.

I received this product for free from Influenster and ConairPro Dog Cat in exchange for my honest review. I love that this glove can be used while bathing OR on a dry coat. I used it on my senior Bichon Frise who REALLY doesn’t like being brushed or groomed and because it seems more like I’m just petting him with a little extra pressure and something on my hand he actually somewhat allowed this.

Haha. This product seems so simple but boy does it make a huge difference! I couldn’t believe the pile of hair I had when I was finished. His hair looked so shiny and smooth after using this on it! I used it on him while he was dry so next time I’m going to test it out while bathing him.

I absolutely LOVE this grooming glove! It fits pretty much ANYONE has an adjustable wrist strap for extra support. My pups LOVED this glove! Every swipe was like a little massage! I really loved receiving this grooming glove! Not only is it super well made and effective, it’s also very comfortable! It fit well on both mine, my husband and both of my kid’s hands. Since I own non-shedding dogs (miniature schnauzers), I wound up using this on my cats.

I bought this for a Great Dane. To be fair I will say that this is a comparison to another item. I bought it to replace my existing one because the one I’m using now is hardly the size of my palm. I was hoping a “whole hand” one will be much more effective.

Well, it’s not! I have a pretty big hand and although I closed the velcro tightly, it still felt like the glove is somehow slipping. But the main problem was that it wasn’t doing the job. After trying it for a while and feeling this is not it, I tried grooming with my older one and that was when I saw hair flying, like a cloud, comparing to the few hair that the glove succeeded to get.

The one I’m sticking to is the “KONG Dog ZoomGroom Multi-Use Brush”, Item Number 60812 here at Chewy, for $5. 99.

There is a lot of nylon around the rubber sections and this is what catches a lot of hair. The hair does not peel off as advertised, and I found it awkward to use as the glove is loose on my hand, even with the wrist strap tightened.

Note: I do not have small hands. I ended up having to do a lot of cleanup on the glove, and most of that was unsuccessful due to the texture of the nylon areas (i. e. , non-nubby areas). It does pull loose hair out, and if you’re okay with finding creative ways to remove the hair from the entire glove (a second brush or something might do it), then this product might be just fine for you.

Overall, the mitt is okay. It doesn’t trap the hair as well as I was hoping, but that could be because both of my dogs have short hair. My dogs also really don’t enjoy being brushed by it. I was hoping they wouldn’t be bothered if I was petting them and brushing them at the same time, but they just want to eat the mitt.

I will be donating it to the local shelter. I gave it 3 stars because I think it would work well for someone else, whose dogs have longer hair, it’s comfortable, and well priced.

We have 3 cats, and two of those are Himalayan’s, so we are always on the look-out for a new tool to help with the shedding and matting. This glove is great, especially for those pets who don’t like to be brushed.

Our cats love to be petted, so we typically use this guy on one hand, and weld a deshedding comb in another. That way it’s easier to distract them with the glove, and get out mats at the same time — and eventually when the cat has caught on, the glove gives protection for rouge paws and teeth.

I have 1 dog (my healer) who will not let me get near him with a normal dog brush. He loves this, and now so do I! It works great. The hair gets picked up in the comb of the mitt, but easily pulls off for very easy cleanup.

This is a great product! Does exactly what is expected. Our dog absolutely loves this brush. It’s works as a great massage tool and our dog can’t wait for her brushout. She’s not a shedder, but this brush pulls out loose hair and, when finished, the hair easily lifts off in one sheet to dispose.

The item is great. Picks up fur from furniture and totally gets all the cats loose hair. Only bad thing. The cat hates it. I have to pin her down. She gets upset but looks great afterwards.

This glove works great for removing hair. The only problem is figuring out how to remove the hair from the rubberized side of the glove. Shaking it outside seems to get most of the hair out but is quite a task to do so.

The softer side also works well for removing hair and is easier to remove the hair from and much more tolerated by my kitty. I’d have given this 5 paws if it weren’t for the difficulty in cleaning the glove.

We have a 2-year old Golden Retriever and sometimes we think we could build another dog with the hair she sheds and the “tumbleweeds” we find all over the floor. She doesn’t like to be brushed! This Deshedding Glove is the perfect answer.

I bought this hoping my dogs would let me brush them without hog tying them. I get about four brushes in before they jump ship. It’s not the brush, it’s them. The bristles are soft and short and would be great.

Not sure if this would work for longer hair dogs though.

I am pleased with this glove that grabs fur painlessly from our cat’s coat. She seems to shed year round and I brush her every couple of days, and she is not a long haired cat. This seems to get as much fur if not more than her rubber tipped cat brush.

Its only issue is that its not as easy to get all the fur off the glove. Otherwise its great. Maybe if there was more hair it would have been easier to bet all the fur off of it !!.

These gloves are the best for shedding season! While massaging your horse, you are also removing all that winter hair without damaging coat as metal shedders can do. Especially effective for legs. Your horse will love you!.

Good quality. Nice that there are sizes. Made well and easy to use. The nubs are nice for massage and hair removal, but not so big they might irritate the skin. The mesh on the back allows water to escape during a bath, and dries quickly.

I have two dogs that shed a lot, and these were very nice to wash them with. On dry dogs they seemed to create some static electricity, so rubbing them occasionally on the damp grass helped. The gloves are not a miracle cure but sure help a lot.

I have been going through brush after brush and have not been able to find one that works as well as these gloves. They are easy to use, my dogs love them, and are quick to clean. These gloves have made my life so much easier.

Was worried when the glove arrived–it looks like my old one (a different brand) that didn’t last very long. It was the brand I wanted and the cat loves it. This is the item that he loves–he won’t allow a regular brush or comb.

Well, it’s a great product. For the price it’s excellent at what it’s designed to do. I only took a star off because my cat hates it. Yet, I read so many reviews stating their cats love it. I tried using different pressures with it, but she still hates this.

Really feature packed device, easy to use and comes with a multitude of mounting accessories. Especially useful is the wrist band remote. Image quality is outstanding as is the stabilization. Can’t go wrong at this price.

These gloves are great value for your money I have 3 cats and they all love getting petted from them. The silicone mitt is soft and therefore comforting to your cat as well as doing a brilliant job of taking away excess fur and also loosens any matting to the cats fur.

I have never found a brush of ANY kind that my 17 year old long haired cat likes but she LOVES this one! I brushed her for 25 minutes straight today and she wanted more! Both of my girls love it! I would recommend it to anyone.

This is comfortable to wear and has adjustable Velcro at the wrist so it doesn’t slide off. Unfortunately, it removed almost no hair at all from my heavily shedding small dogs. Very disappointing.
