20 Best Grill Light For Weber (2023 Updated)

I’ve been doing “drunken” chickens on the grill for years, up to three at a time on occasion, using beer-can holders. The chickens always came out great, but handling them both before and after roasting was always a pain.

So I was always on the lookout for a better way to do this. When I saw this item, I decided to buy it, in part because it had a lot of positive reviews, but also because the design looked to be much less cumbersome than beer-can holders Also, with this roaster, I could cook with wine or something else not normally sold in a can.

I did my first drunken chicken with it today (a Sunday) and was more than pleased with how everything went. Getting the chicken set up was a snap, due to the removable infusion cone. I found that inserting the cone into the chicken and then setting the chicken together with the cone onto the roaster was easier than trying to set the chicken on the cone while it was sitting on the roaster.

While the grill was heating up (400 degrees), I rubbed down the roaster’s ceramic surfaces with canola oil, filled the center of the roaster with regular beer (hint: let the beer come up to room temperature before pouring it into the roaster), and set the chicken in place.

After popping the infusion cap in place and giving the old clucker a thorough rub-down with oil oil and seasonings, it was grill-time. The design of this roaster makes transporting the chicken to the grill easy—just pick up the roaster by the ends and set it on the grates (as near to center as possible for even roasting).

I roast the chicken with the end burners lit and the center burner off, the so-called indirect heating method—you do not want a burner lit that is directly under the roaster!. After a little more than an hour on the grill, the chicken was ready and looked fantastic.

Unlike in the past with the beer can holders, which required that I lift the chicken with some forks to get it off the grates, this time I merely used some oven mitts to pick up the roaster, Removing the chicken from the roaster itself was a snap, and before long, dinner was served.

The chicken was perfect in all respects and I was able to make a tasty gravy from the drippings that collected in the roaster’s base. As for clean-up, the roaster can go into the dishwasher. If you like to roast chickens this way and are not using this product, you don’t know what you are missing.

This roaster is well worth the price. I plan to buy a second one for occasions when I need to roast two chickens. I recommend this product.

Used the previous version of this improved roaster. Used in bbq restaurant…secret is to use soaked wood and after shredding chicken, pour juices back on meat. And the chicken doesn’t sit in the juice while cooking.

Everyone who has tried this has said it’s the best pulled meat they’ve ever had. Other roasters do not collect juice as effectively as this. Perhaps part of my secret is the dried Patrick Mahomes dna from sideline towels that’s incorporated into my rub.

OMG! This made perfect Roast Chicken! Extremely Easy to use and when done the Chicken slid right off the stand! Easy to clean up as well! I smoked a 6. 5 lb chicken in indirect heat at 350 in 50 Minutes! It was the most juicy, tender and Crispy skin chicken I ever made and I’m in my late 60’s and made a lot of chicken in my life.

It was a beautiful mahogany color when done. I used white wine instead of beer. Can’t wait to make another one!.

It’s a solid grill and I really like the extra grilling area compared my old Smokey Joe. It’s big enough for four or five steaks, but still portable. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of some minor top air vent issues.

Either the bolt hole is too big or the bolt is too small in diameter because the vent slides around on its axis when you adjust it. Also, the sharp side of the stamped metal vent goes against the enamel paint.

Unless you wet sand it or otherwise smooth those edges out they will cut right through the enamel to bare metal. Weber should take more pride in correcting such things, but they have not. Other reviewers have brought both of these issues to Weber’s attention in the past, so there is no excuse.

I really do like my now second Jumbo Joe. Like all Weber BBQ’s now built in China they are not the same quality. The area where the handle enters the body the handle activity scrapes off the enamel around the inside of the hole and cleaning the BBQ causes rust.

Mine was replaced under warranty and I modified the handle ends and straightened them. Put a split pin and washer through the end so it now can’t scrape off the enamel. However I’m cooking this arvo and I notice the actual handle is tarnishing with rust appearing.

Great BBQ. Average design and build quality. One of my early Webers now owned by my ex BILaw would be over 40 years old and still going. I doubt whether this one will last 5.

This not only rocks as a nice way to saute and cook other things on the grill, but I use it to serve whatever I’m cooking on the grill and it keeps it hot. It’s a good looking piece to serve food on.

It’s currently one of my most used pieces. It cleans up really easy too. This was one thing I was not sure I would use much but instead it has quickly become my favorite. It’s not a normal cast iron pan it seems like it is coated with something that makes it fit for serving as well as cooking.

Got it for my hubby as a birthday gift as he loves cooking and doing BBQs too. It’s great product, easy to use. Used couple of times already and everything was so good. Can be used not only on BBQ but also in the oven which is very handy.

Would defo recommend to anyone who likes healthier and lighter way of cooking as it doesn’t require too much oil to cook on it.

Got this with a new Weber BBQ. Has proved to be an essential piece of BBQ kit, great for a variety of things – onions, halloumi, meat strips etc and keeps stuff warm as a hot plate when moving food over to the picnic table.

Have used with every BBQ since acquisition. Quality weighty Griddle. Would not want to be without.

This cover is very generous, sturdy and tough. Very well stitched and put together. We have a similar fabric one on another grill that is 3 yrs old and stays out all year round ( Minnesota weather ) and it still looks like new so I’m planning on this to be the same.

I got this 70” size to fit our 60”wide, 48” tall, 24” deep grill. It is a very generous fit and goes down to the floor all around. It has an elastic drawstring on the bottom and 4 clip straps to attach to legs/wheels.

I’ve had some high winds since I’ve had it and it stayed on without using any of these but they are there for back up. It is easy to put on because it is sturdy and not flimsy when putting on. It is a light color as is the other one I have but that has not been a problem for gathering dirt.

I’ve had vinyl before that cracks, tears easily and collects dirt so you have to clean it all the time before removing from grill.

We have bought two of these. The first one lasted 3-4 years and was disintegrating after the third season. Because we were so impressed by the weight of the material and the design, we bought another, thinking that we had done something wrong.

We paid closer attention to the second one. Again four seasons passed and we are shopping for another cover. The first thing to go was the straps. then it began to come apart at the seams. The material would give off dust when shaken or wiped, which is the material degrading.

It turns out that these covers do not withstand UV, and we are in southwest British Columbia, not Arizona. Not buying a third one.

Overpriced grill that lacks quality material. I’ve owned this for a year now and have cooked throughout the seasons. This cooks well enough, and seems to keep a decently even temperature in the middle and rear.

Though the front tends to cook cooler. My issues are with the quality of the exterior. The stainless components are an incredibly cheap form of “stainless. ” Unless you clean after each use with recommended cleaner and microfiber cloth it will stain and discolor.

Which seems ridiculous for an outside grill. Which I also keep covered. There is much better quality stainless material available and for the price, this grill shouldn’t be that delicate. The painted lid isn’t much better.

The “porcelain-enameled” cast iron grates are “meh,” they require just as much upkeep and care as regular cast iron. My issue is with how thick the grates are, it just increases the surface area that is going to stick to your food.

If they were about half the thickness they would probably be better. Overall, I expected better quality and less delicacy for the price and from Weber, though it does cook decently. For the next question on the form, “would you recommend this product to a friend?” Yes, but only if you buy it heavily discounted, it certainly isn’t “quality” for the full MSRP.

This is my second Spirit II grill. The first one was great but after 8 years of my neglect and the wet weather in Florida – it finally rusted beyond repair (although one burner still worked). Most of the rust was on the inside of the doors that contained the gas cylinder and around the small wheels underneath.

This time I bought on with the ability to hang the gas on the outside and it has 2 larger wheels on one side instead of 4 small ones under the main grill – it seems less affected by the wet, humid weather.

Its also easier to hang the propane cylinder on the outside beneath the permanent shelf on the right side. Note that only the shelf on the left side folds down. The grill starts up like a champ and with the two burners on high can reach 450° F in a few minutes.

It has enough room on the cooking grills to cook enough “meat” for probably 8 hungry people. So unless you think you will be barbecuing for the entire neighborhood – you can buy this two burner instead of the larger 3 burner.

Overall it’s a great, well made gas grill that sells for a very reasonable price. It’s also important to know that buying replacement parts and extra add-ons is easy to do either on line or at major home repair stores.

My husband received this Arteflame for his 40th birthday. He loves to cook and we frequently entertain and so far, this has been a great purchase. It serves as a place to cook just about anything that you’d cook on a traditional cook top, but also allows you to grill food as well.

It’s the centerpiece of our patio. Friends have commented “wow- that looks like a piece of art!” My husband is truly enjoying it. Wood Majetic’s customer service has been great answering the few questions that we’ve had.

Well made, very heavy (it comes on a palate and takes at least two people to move it) unique and fun! We look forward to using this for many years to come.

Neither my husband nor I enjoy being the sole person grilling at our outdoor events. Artflame brings that grilling together with friends bonding that we were missing since we we were children. It was so nice to see our friends (vegetarian or not) take turns grilling following their own taste.

Hands down the best grilling experience ever and with a plus: The food comes out with a tremendous taste. We love it.

Beautifully made but weighs a ton but the utility for people who use a charcoal chimney is so far a mystery. I am trying to figure out how to actually use it with a charcoal starter chimney which is my usual technique for the Weber Kettle.

If the Arteflame is in place before you start then there is no place to actually start the Chimney other then on top of the insert with center in place. The obvious issue being that the insert center would get unbelievably hot and then need to be removed to put in the charcoal.

So you have a heavy insert center that is now red hot that you remove and then put the charcoal through? Very scary. The other option is to start as usual with the insert removed, pour in the charcoal and then put on the insert, but as mentioned it weighs a ton and doing that with hot coals already in the kettle is a bit scary safety wise too.

I may be missing something obvious but the instructions packed with the insert give no clue other then to “start charcoal” which is not helpful. Maybe this isn’t an issue for people who use charcoal starter fluid or “one light” but for people who use a charcoal chimney this is a real problem unless perhaps you have 2 kettles – which I do not have and is extreme.

I am wondering if anyone actually uses this with a charcoal chimney or if the manufacturer even recommends it.

What can I say about this product other than I love it! I ordered and received this item in June 2021. So I have been cooking with it for a short time. I have been looking for a product that was functional, could handle the heat, not warp and allow for me to cook a variety of items without the need to add another flattop and limit the cooking space.

I found this product by chance when I received an email from a meat vender that had a video and featured the ARTEFLAME insert on their Big Green Egg. I have the XL and was worried they only went up to the Large.

Gladly, ARTEFLAME did offer it. When I received the item, it was well packed and secured. It took a bit longer to season than I figured, due to it’s circumference size of 24″, I ended up using 1/2 a stick of the Crisbee seasoning stick to give it a nice dark non-stick finish.

Just grab a brew or drink and some music and enjoy the seasoning process. I love the weight (easy to place in the egg with the 3″ risers when you remove the grill insert), quality and thickness of the metal, the removable insert (which also does not block the heat from venting up and out to control the temp) in addition the 3″ inserts that raise the plate to just under the lip.

There is a small space around the circumference of the insert and the EGG so the heat does rise up and is not trapped in the lower chamber of the Big Green Egg. Cooking burgers and hot dogs is a breeze, I can now make smash burgers without having the burgers fall through the grates.

I can also grill chopped onions along with the burgers and buns. I plan to start cooking fish, shrimp, quesadillas and steak and tortillas for tacos. With practice (learning temp management) I’ll be able to tackle pancakes, eggs and hash browns.

I’m still debating the riser and food saver for a future purchase. Have to play with it for a bit before I pull the trigger on the two items. Due to the shape and height of the Big Green Egg this will fit without an issue.

They have a great warranty. To my surprise they included an amazing offer inside the packing. If you upgrade to one of their grills within a year. They will credit your full purchase price towards that grill and ask that you give your inset to someone else to try their product.

I have never heard of this and thinks its amazing of them to do this. This shows the confidence they have in their product.

I wanted to get away from chemicals to light our Bar B Que, I remembered my father-in-law had a cylinder starter he placed newspaper underneath and then poured the charcoal inside the top. I bought this today and crumpled a few sheets of newspaper loosely just like I had remembered.

It smoked excessively at first so much so I thought about getting a blanket and doing smoke signals seriously. The paper was gone it was still smoking I wasn’t sure if this was a fail or not. I walked in the house a few minuets later I returned to find flames and the charcoal glowing.

Oh yes it was perfect and in less time then the pile takes. I was so impressed I did it again only with a full load of charcoal same impressive results with no chemicals just a few sheets of crumpled newspaper.

The cylinder is made heavy-duty it’s well ventilated to get those coals heated incredibly fast. It is worth the money and saves time. I love it!.

Worked well, but the charcoal capacity is really far too small for our Weber 47cm diameter barbecue, despite what the makers say. A lot of people swear by using a chimney starter to light their barbecue, but personally, I didn’t find that using one gave us any real advantage.

We have always got good results by using enough top quality charcoal, and making sure it is properly, and evenly, ignited in the first place. Using the chimney starter actually slowed things down, as due to its small capacity we had to add more charcoal and wait for it to burn properly before we could cook.

To sum up, this device would probably be fine for using with a very small barbecue, especially with poorer quality fuel, but it’s not for us.

I have always piled charcoal briquettes in the center of my grill and doused them with lighter fluid to get my grill started. Overall I have been satisfied with the results. However I never liked the residue the lighter fluid deposited on the sides of my grill bowl.

I couldn’t help thinking that those repeated deposits over the years was affecting the flavor of my grilled food especially when I used the dome. Recently I purchased a new Jumbo Joe grill and decided to give the Rapidfire Compact Chimney Starter a try in conjunction with the Rapidfire Fire Starters for my charcoal.

I have been very pleased with the results. The combination of the two products have started my charcoal quickly and has prevented that deposit of petroleum film on the sides of my grill bowl. My experience has been that only 1 fire starter under my Rapidfire Compact Chimney Starter is required to have my charcoal ready to go in about 15 minutes.

Upon lighting the Chimney Starter directs all the smoke and soot up and away from the sides of my grill. I will not go back to my old method.

I received the Char-Baskets today on Father’s Day and even though the Weber box and Amazon box were in good condition the baskets were not right. There was a large off angle space between the side and the bottom.

A lot of charcoal would fall out if used. I am wondering if others received them to a similar condition. I don’t expect it to be perfect but it was way out of wack for its purpose.

Enables much easier temperature control of cooking zones by allowing the segregation and movement of coals. Direct and indirect cooking easily managed and moved. Can even move the coals around without removing the grill by popping a utensil through the grill and pulling the whole basket to where you want direct heat.

Bottoms of the char baskets needed bending up ever so slightly to make them level (they were angled down slightly by a few millimeters from the bottom of the surround) else they caused them to interfer with the cooking grill (this was on a compact 47″ kettle) but this was easily done by pushing on them and they now fit perfectly.

I bought these for my husband and he loves these charcoal baskets. The briquets stay contained, which provides the best control, and focuses the heat to the cooking area. Cooking is more even, and the results are delicious.

Clean up is so much easier with the baskets. You just lift them out when cooled, and discard the ashes. The ashes remain intact, and do not spill out of the holes, which amazed me. My husband said the baskets take grilling to a higher level.

Really miss my old Weber Genesis Silver A grill. I owned a Weber Genesis Silver A grill for 13 years. The grill had two burners and worked flawlessly. My only problem with it was that as a “master griller” I used it year round and, with only two burners, it was difficult to get the grill to sustain a high enough “Indirect Heat” temperature with only one burner to successfully roast chickens and beef roasts when the temperature fell below freezing.

In 2017 I decided to “upgrade” to the Genesis II E-310 believing that having 3 burners would enable the grill to preheat faster and with the option of having the two outside burners on and the center burner off, it would maintain a desirable “indirect” temperature even when the outdoor temperature fell below freezing.

First of all, I was correct. This grill is outstanding in indirect cooking even when the outdoor temperatures are in the 20’s. What this grill isn’t acceptable in, however, is flare ups. I have yet to successfully grill lamb chops on this grill, something that my Silver A did flawlessly.

The fat from lamb chops falls onto the flavorizer bars and immediately ignites. Within a minute, the internal temperature of the grill goes to 700 and all my chops are going up in flames and black! This never happened on the Silver A.

I honestly wish I had the Silver A back, or better yet, the Silver B which was of a similar design but had 3 burners.

This is a great mid-range BBQ. The materials are high quality as you can tell when you assemble it. Plenty of grill space and the top rack is super sturdy. The ignition and lighting of the burners has a very satisfying “whoosh” as it ignites.

I didn’t expect that! The lid has a mechanism to prevent a hard bounce so it always has a nice shutting feeling as you close the grill. Additionally, it stops around 90 degrees so you can put this BBQ up close to a wall without worrying that the lid will accidentally hit the wall.

I have this one much closer to the wall than my old BBQ. Cooking is nice and even and the drip plate works wonders. I’m very happy with this purchase. The only down side is that there is no front door to the bottom area.

Other than that it has exceeded expectations.

All in all I love the new Arteflame kit I purchased. I was even able to move the grill into place by myself (but the lid is HEAVY!). The grill and stand look great, with the exception of some of the finish on the Grill base having been marred during shipping I think so some of the “rust” is rubbed-off in one place.

Hopefully it fills back out or maybe there is a way to get the patina back. I’ve already cooked close to a dozen different meals and have enjoyed the process very much! There are a couple things that I felt were missing though.

First of all, the lifter for the grill grate has a significant amount of either slag or globs of the anti-rust/silver coating on it which, at the price of the pieces, is a bit disappointing. It works fine of course, but the finish is less than expected.

I’d repeat what another reviewed mentioned in that yes, you do need to remove plastic from a number of the pieces as some of it seems straight from the laser-cutters (would be nice to have things pre-prepped though I guess), but I’d not downgrade for that.

Otherwise, the pieces seem fine quality. What does seem lacking to a degree is instructions for some of the items. The food saver for example is just a flat piece of laser-cut metal that maybe needs to be bent into shape, but I’m not sure as there are no instructions for that.

There is also a small piece of metal with a slot cut into it that may be used to do that bending, but again, no instructions, so I’m not sure. I haven’t needed to use to food saver yet so I haven’t tackled this but it seems odd that there is no instruction on what to do with these pieces.

Finally, a couple suggestions for Arteflame outside of improving some of the finish and instructions. It would be great if you sold an accessory/matching vented cooking cover for placing over items to hold-in heat or smoke.

I’ve used the top of my now retired Weber kettle grill. It works great as it has a handle and vent so you can somewhat regulate smoke and temp while helping to cook. I did a pork shoulder for 8hrs this last weekend and it worked great together.

Something to do with the grill grates when removed and hot would also be awesome. Even a small 4-5″ circle of metal that could be placed on the griddle surface and the hot grill placed on it would be great.

I don’t really want to place the hot and greasy grill directly on sections I’m not using and soil them, nor do I want to place it on the ground/grass/deck, etc. Overall a great and unique product that is a ton of fun to use and will have all your neighbors wanting to give it a try with you! Highly recommend.

Our first experience with Arteflame was at our neighbor’s on a mild November evening. They just got it and invited us to the inaugural cook-out. We sat around the low grill, warmed our feet under the the half globe of the arteflame and chatted.

All the while grilling our food in front of us. We knew right away: we need one for our garden come summer! This June we got our own arteflame and we are thrilled. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy company and prepare food at the same time.

In the past, our guests would sit around the table while one of us would be running between the table and the grill monitoring the progress of whatever was on the grill. Not anymore! Now everyone is sitting around the grill and enjoying each others company while watching their favorite dish cook or wield their spatula themselves.

When we got the grill, we envisioned that we will be cooking together while gathered around the grill and then enjoy the food at the table nearby. Boy were we wrong! Once the food is done, nobody wants to leave the comfortable and romantic setting and prefers to eat with the plate on the lap.

Arteflame totally changed the way we entertain. Now everything revolves around what dishes to cook on the grill – from starters to deserts – without leaving our spot the entire evening. We are planing to create a low table with a cutout in the middle for the grill.

(Arteflame does offer a resting add-on for cutlery and plates but to cover the entire grill all around it would mean to spend nearly $400 on top of the $2400 we already did so we decided to go the DIY route) Buying the grill was a huge investment and we mulled it over for a long time.

But having it in our garden elevates not only our dining experience, it adds a focal point to the sitting area: It is a sculpture among the lounges. Here is to four seasons of outdoor cooking and gathering!.

I absolutely love my Arteflame! My very first seasoning and cook, right after receiving and setting it up was for 34 family members. Wasn’t elaborate but was a big cook of hamburgers, hotdogs and such.

It turned out to be a huge success and everyone loved the Arteflame, even my son who is a classically trained chef (French Culinary Institute NYC). Have since prepared delicious crab cakes and asparagus…fantastic! Biggest challenge, is a bit of a learning curve for proper seasoning and car of the plancha, but that will come with more use and cooks.
