20 Best Greens For Bearded Dragon (2023 Updated)

Like most beardie parents, I was struggling to get my little girl to eat her veggies. I saw the recommendation of this product in a blog and after reading reviews decided to try it. Just like with my human babies, I’m concerned about additives, sugars, etc.

, so I already knew I wouldn’t be using it often. I can’t speak personally to flavor, but the smell is fantastic- like a strawberry vinaigrette only a little thicker. I literally use a few drops to mix in the salad.

My beardie has been eating her salad with no problems since. She’s just as excited about a salad as she is about her buggies. I now only use a few drops as a treat. I barely use it now which is why I wish it was sold in smaller bottles.

Not all beardies have the same tastes/personalities, try to find a trail size, but this product is worth a try.

My girlfriend got this for my russian tortoise Roku for Christmas today, he loves it! I smelled it expecting it to be sour and gross but it literally just smelled like a canteloupe. My tortoise left no sign of a salad after putting it on.

The past few weeks he eats about half his food and leaves it, and for him to demolish his salaf today with the dressing made me so happy. I suggest if you have a tortoise and you love him/her to buy this product!.

My desert tortoise loves this stuff. But of course after a few times She wants a break from it and we try something else for a few days then we go back to her dressing. I use it for those things she is suppose to eat, but refuses.

It’s common for tortoise to get finicky. With this on there she will eat whatever’s underneath. My “little jackie’ is a rescue. I had a friend bring her to me and it was love at first sight. Now I’m a obsessed turtle mommy.

When I got her she had pyramiding and back shell was sunk in. she was very dehydrated and starving. She ate only lettuce and live in an aquarium she was way to big for. a year later she has improved immensely.

I trust Nature Zone products for my little girl. Update: she is eating this on a regular basis now. ????.

This product is great. It has a pretty decent shelf life considering it’s all dehydrated. My baby beardie is under a month old and has actually taken a couple of nibbles of this stuff as his fist sample of greens since I got him.

It’s really convenient to just add a little warm water, let it sit for a few, and then leave it in the tank for him to sample. The peas and some of the silkworm pupae are usually still quite hard, which i’m sure wouldn’t be a problem for an adult beardie but my little guy is still very small so I have to pick those out.

I will still be buying this product in the future as a backup in case I run out of fresh veggies!.

Recently Added this to my 4 y/o red footed tortoise’s diet. He LOVES it , it’s has a very strong sweet fruity smell. It’s a lot easier than keeping fresh fruit around, and avoiding fruit flies, gnats and mites.

I feed it every 3 days, I sprinkle some of this fruit mix on top of his pellets with a lil water and calcium. I used to feed fruit n veggies from my garden but I could not keep mites out of the tank, no matter how many times I washed them.

So now I freeze the fresh fruit and veggies n no bugs no waste, and now with this product I’ll definitely be using this for a long time.

Good product. Very convenient for when you don’t have time to make a fresh salad for your beardie. My beardie seems to really like. Finishes it all most of the time. I don’t really like the little tiny bits that they put in there.

When you get toward the bottom of the bag it’s mostly just these little particles that basically create a mush that my beardie doesn’t really eat. That’s my one complaint.

My bearded dragon tends to be a picky eater. Had started with juvenile mixed version, then as he got older guy the adult version. I noticed he would eat just the red crunchy parts and leave the cricket and worm parts.

Decided to get this since it was what he liked. He seems to enjoy crunching away in these. I had tried to get some moist, but he did not like those. I had tried a different brand before that has green, yellow, and a pinkish color of pellet like these, but he would never eat those.

There is something about these flukers ones he prefers.

The wild lizards outside love it. Highly recommend it for the critters outside. Good For other garden animals too. Reasonable price too. I thought my 50 words was up. I could have summed it up in just a few words.

There you have it. It’s an exceptional day for them eating these again. I put it out daily and come back to find it’s all been eaten.

My bearded dragon has been having these for years now. I got him when he was so tiny that he could wrap his legs around your pinkie finger. I’ve found that these are a good treat for my beardy. He is more into live food aka crickets and hornworms (only one when he gets a special treat).

I would recommend these to bearded dragon owners as a treat or in between live feedings. You can see how tiny he was when we got him (only a few weeks old) and the others are over the last few weeks.

He’s well over a foot long (with his tail) so he’s pretty spoiled!.

I bought this thinking it would be perfect for my Turtle. I mixed it the way it says & it’s sticky? I tried adding a little more water, then it was just mushy? I added a little less water, it’s hard & sticky? Am I doing something wrong? I have some to my turtle & he wouldn’t eat it.

I went to clean it out of his bowl & it’s stuck in there?? Now it’s not like I left it for a week, it was a couple of hours to see if he would try it. If anyone has any recommendations on maybe a better way of making this, I would greatly appreciate your advice.

I purchased this because my scraps didn’t appeal to the roaches, crickets, and mealworms I feed to my leopard gecko anymore. For one thing they were molding quickly and another they were barely touched.

So I have used this for almost a week and ALL of the feeders love it! I’ve never seen my mealworms so interested in anything, and my roaches are super plump! My gecko enjoyed the roaches and only ate about half of them so I think this is some good stuff!.

My iguana isn’t a very picky eater so he’ll eat just about anything you set in front of him, but doesn’t usually finish it all in one day. He really seems to enjoy the flavor of this product and will gobble it all up before the day is over! If your iggy likes flavorful food I suggest trying this out~ As for my rabbit I give her a small handful as a treat.

She mostly just likes the peas, carrots, and fruit bits though. Good treat for bunnies if you know they will enjoy any of the ingredients included in the mix!.

This calcuim powder is the only one I will use for my leopard gecko. I don’t know why, but he has rejected all 3 other brands I have tried. So, this one is our favorite. He doesn’t really like to have calcium powder coated on his mealworms.

He just likes to have a little bit in his bowl and he likes to sit in it.

My go to calcium for all my reptiles. I love that it is affordable and since I’ve been buying it the forma has been consistent and the packaging keeps it from getting any type of moisture. I keep tortoises and a bearded dragon.

My beardie loved this so much that he tried to eat my finger after he tasted it!! I had to laugh about his reaction…too funny. Will definitely be buying this product again.

I purchased these pellets for my bearded dragon to try. He didn’t eat them and I followed the instructions on how to prepare it to transition. They went bad quick. If you moisten it and bearded dragon doesn’t eat it you have to throw it away as it will dry up on the top and look fine but grow mold at the bottom.

The color I guess is not appetizing either. I mean I tried everything and he didn’t eat them and he has eaten pellets before. Maybe it works for someone else but not for me.

I grow a variety of greens and veggies for my dragon, and usually end up freezing the bulk of it and feeding them to him thawed but even fresh and with his recommended amount of insects he was having liquid stools.

My vet suggested he was getting too much water in his diet so I started adding the pellets to help absorb some of the moisture in his veggies before I offered him the thawed veggies. His poops have been healthy ever since.

My pet turtle loves the variety and it has everything he needs in it. We added to his vegetables, it smells good too. It has a lot of quantities for a cheap price.

It’s a food for bearded dragons! How would I be aware of it’s flavor and scent. Anyway; my 20+ year old dragon won’t eat it. I think the size of the product is the problem. It is minced so small (about 1/8″ cubes) that BeeDee just doesn’t recognize it as food and this girl can rip through two dozen large crickets without breaking a sweat.

Maybe you should advertise this item as for baby bearded dragons?!.

Our beardie didn’t care for these bites. From what I’ve read here, this is more of a personal taste than anything being wrong with the product. They look to be well-made and you get a good amount of food for the money.

I could see where this could easily provide a good source of protein and vitamins for a bearded dragon. One caution, though – I wouldn’t leave it out once you open it. Feed your lizard, but any he doesn’t eat right away I would be worried might spoil.

Put in refrigerator after opening too – don’t wanna poison your beardie with spoiled food!.

I tried it a couple times but my beardie isn’t a fan. And the directions of how to mix don’t give exact measurements. Just 2:1 is basically it. So I had to guess some at how best to make this. The first time was too runny and never set up.

The second time it was a bit too dry and crumbled. I gave up after that. He never ate one bite. He’d turn his nose up and eat the pellets first. Which he hates the pellets.

Great product. I have a very picky beardie that will insects and veggies occasionally. Now with the cooler weather he’s slowing down especially his appetite. I mix up a slurry with some veggies and add some Veggie Burger.

At least he’ll get some protein. He loves the taste and I know he’s getting a lot of nutrition. I’ve been doing this for years and he’s a very healthy 5 yr old.

I keep this on hand for “picky” times or for when I’m waiting on a bug delivery. My bestie took right to it at just a few months old. It’s great for times I have a pet sitter as well. I can make up a batch and store cubes in the fridge if the pet sitter is too squeamish about bugs.

My tortoises love this product, and when I purchased in small quantities, it came in tiny cubes. I began ordering the 1-gallon bucket (bites) and the first one came in bites. It was amazing. I’ve ordered 5 since then, complained to Chewy, got replacements and it still comes in a solid brick of gelatin.

Chewy customer service is AMAZING and it’s not their fault – but something needs to be done because it’s not supposed to be a glob and it’s very hard to work with. I usually have to scoop out w/ a spoon and then crush with my hands – not fun.

I bought a beardie from a friend’s younger cousin and the beardie was in bad shape, underweight, wouldn’t eat, calcium deficiency, had the wrong bulbs, ECT. These work so much better than I could have imagined.

She begins eating almost immediately after she smells them. They were a key part to her rehabilitation. She loves them, I love that she loves them! 11/10 would recommend!!!.

I’ve been using this product for my Iguana over 2 years and he loves it! It’s a fortified maintenance formula for your iguana’s daily diet. They come in 2 sizes: a 10 oz jar and a 2. 5 lb jar. They have real fruit flavor and the smell is awesome.

Your iguana will head straight for it! It is my go to iguana food after all the green leaves and fruits my iguana usually eats. Now I mix it up!.

My dragons crunch this up in the morning, like cereal. They seem to like it. It is very convenient for me to put that in their habitat on busy mornings, and then they’ll get a salad later (or maybe some crickets if they didn’t make a huge mess).

Anyway, it smells a little fruity too. I doubt I would feed them only ‘cereal’, I think they need more variety. But it would serve their requirements if nothing else was available. A week after a big hurricane, power was still out on the island.

This cereal was great because it didn’t require being refrigerated, or in our cooler. It is great to have on hand, but don’t expect dragons to favor it over their other food, or gobble it down the first time.

Dragons that are spoiled (like mine are) will pout like a toddler for a bit. But if they’re hungry, they’ll eat. It is good to get them used to a dry food, so they will be familiar with it when you need them to eat it.

I give them other foods later in the day, after they finish a little cereal first. They’re also bell-trained, so they know when food arrives.

Turns her water container turquoise, which I thought odd, and her stool was slightly looser, which could be read as either good or bad. I took it as bad and discontinued use except as an occasional treat.

I would like to start by saying you do not need these, and actually eating a serving of veggies as the same if not more benefits due to the lack of fiber in powdered greens. I however find it really hard to eat as many mushrooms which are full of antioxidants.

I only bought these because Kat and Ken (kkfit twins) raved about these and I was feeling bougie. I have been using these every day for about three weeks and I have seen such a difference in my skin.

It could very well be from something else but I have had really bad hormonal acne for the past year and a half and nothing has worked my skin is back to how it was before the hormonal acne started! Now for flavor these do honestly taste pretty good if you like the taste of health.

They don’t taste like grass and dirt like many greens powders, even though the aren’t flavored. To me I would say they taste like grass and raspberries – still that healthy grass flavor but sweet and oddly enjoyable, especially if you mix it with milk or orange juice.

These greens are so good! They kind of taste like matcha. I have the 1up Nutrition greens and I couldn’t stand the way they taste. I use to have to force myself to drink them as quickly as possible and even then I had a hard time getting them down.

But not with these. I literally take my time drinking these because they’re that good. I saw some influencers I follow rave about these and they’re affiliated with PEScience so I wasn’t sure if they were actually going to be good, but they really are.

They also have amazing customer service. I had issues with delivery. My package said delivered but I never got it and I reached out to customer service and they sent a replacement right away. If you’re debating on buying these greens, JUST DO IT.

It’s easy for the juvenile iguana to eat because of the size of the product, which is a good thing because I’ve bought a couple of commercial iguana food that was too big for my ig, whio is under a year old.

This product is just the right size for juveniles, and they’re more inclined to eat it if it’s been moistened by pouring a serving into a bowl, add just enough water to barely cover the food, allow to soak about 5 minutes or just a bit longer, drain the water and present to the ig.

Mine have always liked it better that way. The product and brand are both excellent at a fair price.

I have a 55 gallon freshwater aquarium which has been in continuous operation since July 4, 2009. It is heavily populated with Roseline Barbs,Tetras, a Brown Africian Knife fish, and assorted gouramis.

Since I started using this product ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels have dropped to zero detectable levels and remain there as long as the Nitra-Zorb is recharged according to the package. I recharge my pouch every week when I perform a 25% water change, then change the pouch after 2 months of use.

My bearded dragon would only eat the mealworms. He would eat the pellets if I stopped giving him live crickets. I like the ease and convince of this food but my beardie just doesn’t seem to care for it.

I feel like I bore my lizard with the lack of selection when it comes to her food, especially since she typically turns her nose up at greens. She really seems to enjoy these little flowers though. I’ll definitely end up buying the larger bag size, so I can use these to make her greens more appealing to her.

I purchase this flower topper for my dwarf hamster habitats to encourage foraging. All of the flowers in the bag are safe for her to consume with no added ingredients! The flowers are always fragrant, have a variety of each one so you’re not stuck with a bunch of cornflowers, and my hamster Bebe is always so excited when she gets to play in an area with flowers.

Dragons could care less about it, even when moistened and mixed with their greens. On the other hand, my uromastyx seems to like it. Guinea pigs also really liked it.

I have had my desert tortoise for approximately four years now and couldn’t find a food that he liked or would eat. I finally came across this and it’s amazing. I do have to wet it so it’s softer for him but he eats it until it’s gone.

He leaves all the fruits and veggies aside until he’s finished this tortoise food and then he’ll munch on the other stuff. It is a great food. And an additional plus is that we have actually seen him growing.

It’s amazing what good nutrition will do.

i recently decided to purchase this food because i found out it is one of THE most recommended foods for my aquatic turtles. i have 2 yellow bellied sliders, and i have been feeding them zoo med and mazuri (as well as hikari wheat germ, daily veggies) and decided to add this to the mix as well! i like to mix all three for their recommended food and they eat it so im satisfied! since it’s the most recommended i’ve seen, i feel confident with them eating it.

i do think it benefits them as well, if anything it adds variety!.

I love the simplicity and effectiveness of this type of product. I’ve yet to use it with my bearded, Ive got two of them, but I’ve used similar products in the past and they are so worth it! Sometimes I just don’t have the time to buy crickets and feed them to my beardies and Maybe they’re not hungry at the moment but will be soon after I have left the house.

This product provides a nutritious meal for my beardies when I’m in a pinch! They have thoroughly enjoyed the previous food similar to this I have fed them and I have no doubt the colorful, enticing formula will do the same! :).

I’ve used Repashy brand foods for years now and this stuff is great. I’m always very skeptical of commercial diets for reptiles as they often have ingredients that should not be offered to the animals they’re intended for and their nutritional value is suspect to say the least.

However when you look at the ingredients listed in Repashy’s products they are very straight forward and the first ingredients listed are some of the best things you can possibly give your animal. In particular, with grub pie the very first ingredient listed is black soldier fly larvae (bsfl) meal.

BSFL are one of if not the most nutritional insect feeders you can offer your dragons with a near perfect phosphorous to calcium ration and tons of calcium for proper bone development in your animals.

I’ve been keeping reptiles for over 30 years and have had bearded dragons for about 20 years now with loads of breeding success and healthy animals and I fully vouch for this product. It can also be mixed with other repashy foods like the veggie burger formula for your omnivorous reptiles or you can just get the beardie buffet or bluey buffet recipes.

Now it is true that not all of your animals are going to want it and some may take it with coaxing, but it is certainly worth a try and can easily be used as a staple part of their diet along with fresh bugs.

My son’s blue-tongued skink usually eats just fine but can sometimes just stop and turn her nose up to things, usually in the winter. Although it’s normal to have a lighter appetite in colder weather, this Grub Pie is seemingly irresistible for her! I use it in place of worms, etc as a protein on top of dark, leafy greens and other favorite veg.

She loves it and it makes me worry less about her nutrition during those stubborn times.

Maybe other people have better luck. But I could not get my leopard gecko lizard eat it. That’s why I only gave 3 stars. She hadn’t been eating. I finally found a supplement that was liquid & I could get her to lick that & she’s on the mend.

To be honest, I haven’t had good luck with any Repashy items.

Yes they are good. However the packages I’ve bought are 95% spinach. It should be renamed as a spinach container. The price reflects the contents. A bundle of spinach is about this price.

Fresh and crisp. The container is still fresh after we had had it over a week. This out performs Whole Foods freshness in greens fridge lifespan. We will purchase again and I highly recommend if fresh crisp greens are important to you.

Perfect for a good size salad fir one. I like to cook them like spinach. One package leaves barely enough for one serving.
