The package came earlier than expected. The content was complete It was good that you had extra screws. One was defective. It is better to have 2 extra. I would use them both The installation was not difficult.

I did the work even myself. The cover, I have the feeling, should be 2-3cm longer to fit better. Think if the door to have 2 parts instead of one. Question: Can I leave it over the winter or I have to take it off? The snow I am concern with.

I bought and received my product extremely quick. Ordered and received within a week! Directions for construction were a little lacking but we got it together with not too much trouble. We made heavier anchors for holding it down as we can get some big winds.

I love this greenhouse. I’ve had the building ones before and it was so much work maintaining them. This one is nice because I can put it where I want and still start seedlings any time of the year.

It took us a while to post this review and we are at about 99% complete so I’ll post now. Both Tractor Supply’s and Riverstone Industries’ (the builder of the Monticello Kit) performance have been stellar to this point.

Our assembly area is elevated 14ft up on a deck and the wind has been pretty bad through the assembly process. We had to build special wall supports to keep the walls from blowing over during assembly but once the end wall and roof parts went on this structure became very steady.

All in all it’s taken about 6 days to assemble due to the access and wind difficulties. It should take less than 3 days on a site with good access and no wind. TSC shipped immediately and we had the hot house very quickly- shipment tracking was very good.

As a product the Monticello Hobby Greenhouse is a solid, American Made structure which has survived our windy environment with ease so far. When we display to neighbors I have them lean on a corner and everyone is surprised how solid it is.

As far as customer service goes, we were short one large panel and a few other parts but Riverstone Industries responded immediately and without too many qualification questions. We highly recommend this product to those looking for a solid greenhouse- remember as you are looking- you get what you pay for.

The riverstone monte greenhouse is the perfect size for me to grow my own plants and flowers. The greenhouse is made with high quality materials. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to start their own gardening business or just to have more fresh veggies and flowers in their home.

I am very happy with the decision to buy a Monticello. I was on the fence for months, but this greenhouse fit my budget and allowed me to buy something pretty large. Assembly was a challenge for my family, but the team answered our questions and helped us through a few issues.

The auto vent openers have been great, especially in the heat here in Texas this summer. Looking forward to this fall/winter, so we can really leverage the advantages of this baby!.

LOVE my Orangerie Victorian Greenhouse! Took about 8 full days to build once the foundation slab was in. Instructions could use a lot of work but you can basically follow them. The greenhouse itself is really well engineered and goes together well.

Very sturdy and looks BEAUTIFUL! Yes! I recommend this product.

Bought 8X8 model to replace 15-yr old 8X6 greenhouse. Placed on 13X13 cement pad that was designed for purpose with center drainage. Well-designed greenhouse but quality of manufacturing was not consistent and created extra work.

Part #7556 varied in width along the length, such that the part had to be ground down to a consistent dimension to mate with surrounding parts. Part #10 had excess plastic from the mold which had to be cut off of all twelve parts.

The frame for the vent had two left sides and no right, so we had to wait for a replacement part to be shipped (which the manufacturer did quickly). The gasket material around the door in the kit was three feet short of the quantity needed.

The greenhouse is finished and we are very pleased with the final result. The construction effort was lengthened and more labor intensive due to manufacturing quality control issues.

I did a lot of searching before I chose this particular greenhouse. I ordered the 8×20 Grand Gardener. It has a higher ceiling than the Hobby Gardener model. We built a square and level 4×4 foundation with piers at the corners and two along the long sides, with a gravel base.

It took two days for my husband and I to assemble it. The instructions were correct and no parts were missing. There were a few chipped pieces, but nothing that affected the integrity or look of the structure.

We built it in a fairly restricted space, followed the directions to the letter and had absolutely no issues. It’s very sturdy. Does not rattle or move when it’s windy. It’s attractive and highly functional.

I’m very happy with this purchase.

This is an assembly not for the average consumer. I have mechanical engineering background and this was a good design, but an assembly nightmare for a basic consumer. While building this, I have designed in my head a better, easier, faster, less step, assembly that I will design and build for the general public.

The fastening system, and the door design in my opinion is designed by an impractical novous. However, the designer of the assembly manual did a great job. As a retired Engineer, I guess I’m going into the greenhouse manufacturing business and for that, I thank you!.

Very hard to put together. The roof is a mess to install. After getting it together it leaks everywhere. Yes I sealed it and I am still sealing it. When it rains it floods. at lease I won’t have to water the plants Just not a good design.

Should be a lot better for what it cost.

After reviewing many greenhouses, I felt this was the best, and I was not wrong. If six stars was possible I would give it six. It has been installed for about a week now. What I like is the quality of construction, the sturdiness once installed, the ease of installation, the interior height, and the extras that come with the premium greenhouse.

But what I like the most is the level of service I received from Riverstone Industries the greenhouse manufacturer. My order originated with a third party. There was a mistake in the order made by the third party and Riverstone went to great lengths to help clear it up.

I also talked with the greenhouse manager, who turned out to be the owner, and he gave me about 15 minutes instruction on the use of the greenhouse, which was very helpful as this is my first greenhouse.

I am confident if I have any manufacturing difficulties they would be solved very quickly.

I bought mine a little over 2 years ago. Sturdy as can be, frame is rock solid. I have it ratchet strapped to tie downs and it has survived 60mph winds here in Wisconsin. Also made it through 2 rough winters.

Now heres, the but. the plastic between the mesh on the cover is just disintegrating! All along the ridge line and above the ribs there about 50 small square holes where the plastic used to be. Leaks like a sieve now and lets all the heat out.

Pretty much useless now which is a shame because I really thought this was a quality greenhouse. I would order a new top if it’s offered. If not, i guess i will just cover it with plastic sheeting.

I was so excited to get this! I set it up next to may house and in less than a year the ceiling had totally disintegrated! It was as if it were made out of cardboard. I bought one of those cheap blue tarps from the hardware store at the same time to cover a wood pile and that cheap dumb thing lasted way better! This part of my house where it was set up (right next to that wood pile with the blue tarp) is in the shade most of the day.

direct sunlight about 5 hours per day in the summer and 2 hours per day in the winter. I live in northern California so we never get snow and the coldest night of the year is only about 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

In the hottest part of the summer it gets to be about about 105 degrees F. I’d say it’s not extreme weather. This piece of garbage was literally a hole in the ceiling. Here’s the positive side. the seams and zippers held up perfectly.

Went up easily, its important to have perfectly level ground, as there is no ability to adjust for uneven terrain. The panels went up easily too. It has held up in windstorms, rain, and the incessant Florida sun.

The downside is that the bungee cords deteriorated in less than a year. I replaced them with nylon zip strips. We had to tie ours down to keep it from wandering in a wind storm, but that is okay, its not make to be a permanent structure.

The next problem is that the roof didn’t last long – it got brittle and cracked and split and became worthless – but it took a couple of years before it was worthless. Getting replacement parts, like a replacement roof, is exceptionally difficult.

Still, it does what I need it to do and at a price point that doesn’t get me nervous when the wind kicks up.

I ordered this little greenhouse last year and really wondered if it would endure our windy winters as I live on an island. I did do a proper foundation with bricks and 4×4’s and attached the base securely.

Well, we had some big storms this year and my little greenhouse is just fine! only 4 stars as the zipper came away from the plastic within a week, so that was disappointing but really for the money, no complaints.

If you are considering getting into gardening or if you are interested in working with Greenhouses, this is a great place to start. I am an avid and experienced gardener and I purchased this several years ago for my kids to use on our farm.

It was actually much more durable than we expected. Just be sure to choose proper placement on your land! There is plenty of thoughtful ventilation and other thoughtful integrated designs throughout the greenhouse.

I suggest adding some freestanding shelving around the edges and possibly down the middle and also utilizing the upper edge bars for hanging baskets!! 🙂 [brand:north-american-outdoor-products].

Ordered this as a replacement for a smaller greenhouse that was destroyed by wind a few weeks ago. This greenhouse is much sturdier with a substantial metal frame, heavyweight cover and serious anchoring system.

It withstood a Michigan thunderstorm yesterday with 40+ mph winds and quarter sized hail. Highly recommend!!.

I bought my shelter 3 years ago only to be shock at how short a life span the cover lasts, I stood up to some pretty high winds in it’s short life time but nothing special, I can say when I returned to my property only to be met with the zipper door seams ripped to shreds.

Oh! says I. on closer inspection the whole cover had tears where the material had just dissolved. So! the material is not really UV resistant and therefore expect to replace your cover in a 2-3 year period.

Substantial frame and easy to assemble, anchoring ??? could do with improving to a ground plate that can be more securely anchor’d, the ground anchors supplied are simply not adequate for high winds, I was able to make and drive in 2′ U stakes.

The Greenhouse is a good starting point, and I was happy at first with my purchase, but had I known the cover was to fail within the 3 years I would have taken a different route. I still have the frame and will make timber framed door section to both ends and cover with a UV resistant cover for additional weather endurance.

would I buy another one? Umm! I don’t think so, not for a longer term usage.

Do not buy this junk. We had to rig half the pieces to fit, drill our own holes, and just grimace at the level of inferior quality that was given us. There are one inch gaps in all the panels, the metal frame bars are warped, the plastic is soft and cheap, the door doesn’t even close and has three inch gaps on the top and hinge side.

The window flips inside out and down the side if the wind blows. and the interior measurements are not exact, so we couldn’t lay exact tiles or concrete pavers down like we wanted to. We took pictures and contacted the company (under warranty).

They WOULD NOT honor the warranty, wouldn’t even send us a replacement. Complete junk. However, it still functions and though it looks off, I’m still using it. I didn’t spend almost $700 for nothing! However when it collapses on me, I believe I’ll get another brand.

The Mythos greenhouse once assembled is a quality product. The directions are confusing. Many of the steps to follow are in the incorrect order. Fortunately I have a son who can decipher how to assemble things but most who can read directions & can assemble projects will be able to understand their madness.

My hint to those assembling the greenhouse: Read the directions carefully & group the parts needed by page, get plastic bags & group all needed parts together for that page. Label the plastic bag/pieces with the page number & lay down where parts won’t be disturbed.

Put each page of parts in order so when you go to assemble the unit the parts are right at your fingertips when needed. This took about 2 hours to do but once you start your assembly you wont be digging thru bags, losing parts trying to find the needed pieces.

Yes it took 2 hours but probably saved me 3-4 hours of digging thru the small parts bags & possibly losing some of the small parts. To do correctly you must have all of the pieces & doing this sorting will also tell you if you have all of the pieces to complete the job.

Like most house/greenhouse building the important part is your foundation. Once that’s completed you’re ready. In the early stages you’ll definitely need another person or two to assist as the unit gains its strength with the frame completion.

***Make sure to give yourself adequate room on the sides so you can install the roof panels! If you are assembling the unit near a fence or building measure the length of a roof panel & give that clearance distance otherwise you will damage the roof panels during installation.

Yes it was a day project, anyone who claims they put this up in 4 hours is lying to you. It’s a day job to assemble correctly but once you finish you’ll be happy with your purchase. If you have the room I strongly suggest getting the unit with the 12′ length.

8′ is great, 12′ gives you more room to move around inside the unit. The finished product is worth the effort.

I bought the Palram Mythos 6×8 Greenhouse (green version) and had it shipped to my local Walmart to avoid the shipping cost. Once home I opened the two boxes and discovered that a few parts were damaged in shipping.

A quick call to the manufacturer brought replacement parts within a week. Construction is a challenge and really should be done with at least 2 people on a very calm day. (start early!) It doesn’t take much wind to turn “installation” into “preservation”! After 2 failed attempts outside I built it in my garage and then carried it (one person at each corner) to the final location.

The instructions include one page of written instructions and many pages of pictures. For the most part the pictures get the job done, but another page or two of written instructions would be helpful and would certainly speed up construction.

The most difficult part is putting on the front gable, which requires many pieces to be in perfect alignment simultaneously. Once attached it is at the mercy of the wind while you install the rear gable, and then the ridge beam.

After this, the rest was easy. Once built and secured to its foundation it is very solid and should hold up the wind pretty well. Time will tell how well. Once built its 5 stars, but the difficult construction and visual instructions bring it down.

I’d like to give it 4. 5, but only whole stars are allowed.

My wife and I were able to build this kit in just over an hour using only the tools provided in the kit, following the simple instructions. The frame is made of tubular steel and all hardware is included.

The covering is made of durable plastic with interwoven fiber for strength and durability. The kit recommended burying the ends of the cover on all 4 sides. This helped seal the greenhouse and provided extra protection from the wind.

10/10 would recommend for a quick greenhouse solution for those on a limited budget.

this is exactly what I was expecting. would give 5 stars if the stitching and tie downs were more durable. obviously you need to do your own rigging to tie this down as the original ties weren’t wind worthy.

Make sure to cover all edges with dirt like the instructions say. However, spring air that was a rough 10°C made the inside of the greenhouse an Amazon of 35-45°C. During Summer, we must keep it fully opened or it goes past our thermometer of probably 50°C or 60°C and climbing.

Can’t stand in it for longer than a few moments unless it’s aired out without getting nauseated – it’s that hot. Can’t wait to see what it does for us during the fall and winter months over here in Atlantic Canada and we’ll update the review then!.

This was easy to set up and was a great price. We have not had it up long enough to determine how durable it is and how long it will last. The main problem I did have with this green house, is the stakes included are not anywhere sufficient to keep this greenhouse in place.

We put cinder blocks on the inside poles, and we bought larger, heavy duty hooks to secure it in place.

We moved to the country and decided to get a greenhouse. After much research we chose the 8×8 Glory. Palram’s customer service was exceptional, and we received our greenhouse quickly, no damaged parts, and all were there.

My husband poured an 8 inch wide concrete footing. He and I put up the Glory in less than a day and a half. He is exceptionally handy and experienced in assembling, so there were no issues. There are no written instructions on the step by step pages, but we had no problems.

We particularly like the automatic door on top, it works perfectly. For our flooring, we chose to put down good quality weedblock fabric. then 14 bags of Quikcrete sand. then 8 large paving stones at the doorway going down the center.

then 10 bags of river rocks. It is perfect. The greenhouse is beautiful, and I think we got what we paid for. we originally were going to get a less expensive model, but we’re glad we got this model.

We will stick with Palram for any future needs, and will definitely recommend Palram to other people. I must say this. if you are not experienced with building/assembling, find someone who is that can help you put this together.

Read the book all the way through at least once, so you will know what to expect. I found other peoples’ reviews to be very helpful, as well. Thank you Palram and Hayneedle for making the whole process so convenient and easy.

I purchased this in December. Only to have had it up about six weeks. The door has ripped from the cover, and the shell has already cracked in several places. The temp has a lot of ups and downs, not even manageable with a fan or heater.

It keeps your plants about 20 above the outside temp with both windows open and a fan on. This tent was not meant to hold very many plants. It did great for seedling cups, but once I needed to pot them up, I could see the shelves were meant for that weight.

I have added anchors, and the straps they provided were ripped out during the first rainstorm.

I bought one 5 years ago and used it til now. It was so easy to put together, I am a senior at 65. Recently the vinyl cover started showing the wear. After 5 years in the sun and wind I need a replacement cover.

I think that’s excellent for a plastic greenhouse. I love my little greenhouse. I have put very heavy pots on the shelves. The shelves and frame are still l like new. I put a misting line in it. In the winter I put a heat lamp in it.

So that’s why I think it is excellent. I use it in the garden area of my property at the mobile home park I live in.

Works mostly as expected. The only tricky bit was that the shelf pipes sometimes unexpectedly detach from the frame pipes (meaning the shelf falls). Some robust zip ties seem to have fixed that. Speaking of zip ties, you should probably get some that are more heavy duty than the ones that come with the greenhouse; they’re pretty flimsy, and if you have clay pots for your plants, they’re really not strong enough to hold the shelves in place.

The shelves themself are also fairly weak and sag when any weight is added, but if they’re firmly zip tied to the poles, no problem (the shelves themself haven’t broken).

We looked for two years for the perfect greenhouse. We choose the Riga V because of the excellent ventilation, and it’s proven to be top-notch!! We thought we’d have to empty the greenhouse by August becaues of the heat but due to the four roof vents, large back window and the dutch door, we didn’t have to! And we haven’t even put in the fan yet! As a result of the incredible ventilation, we had a full greenhouse and full garden all season long! It was awesome! We’re doing the same thing this year.

Right now we have blueberries, bell peppers, tomatoes, cauliflower, lettuce, Kale, potatoes, brocolli and strawberries that we’re harvesting out of the greenhouse. This was the best purchase we ever made! We are having so much fun with it.

The design is fabulous!! We’re so pleased with the Riga V and highly recommend it!.

If I didn’t know to expect it, I would knock a star for the subpar instructions – they are lacking. But, if you watch the videos before doing anything and read: the spiral bound instructions, the thicker stapled pamphlet instructions, and the sheets that come with each accessory, it can be done without error as I did.

The only thing apart from directions, if I had to complain about any of the hardware, are the roof window “automatic” openers are kind of fickle. That’s out of the way, nothing else to complain about.

I’m a lawyer by trade, but grew up on a farm and am quite handy. With the foundation installed, it took me 26 hours to assemble (working solo from bang to buck in 90F temps in the shade). I could have gone faster but for the heat.

We’re you to have at least a helper and work in spring/fall temps, I imagine you could knock off about 8 hours – but the roof, which took at least 9 hours on its own, is something that really goes one panel at a time and can be tedious.

My wife loves it, the interior space is great (and perfect for her), and it looks AMAZING. We are using it half as a proper greenhouse and half to house a Jacuzzi. I was originally going to use 6×6’s or poured concrete footers in sonotubes as a foundation to keep ground space open inside, but after contacting the manufacturer (who was tremendously helpful and fast to respond – seriously, if you have problems, reach out to them) it was noted that with any sort of wood, the greenhouse would outlive the foundation, and I decided if I was going to pour concrete I would do it right.

So over about three weeks (again, all solo from shoveling to removing the forms, so it took a bit) I dug out and leveled a 21×11 space, plumbed in electric and water, added crushed stone and a moisture barrier, set up forms and fiberglass rebar (“pinkBAR”), had a truck drop 5 cubic yards for a 6.

5” slab, and salt finished it). It was a bit of work, at least as much as the greenhouse itself, but to be certain the solid foundation made the assembly much easier. If you have the time and are able bodied to do so, this can absolutely be done by the homeowner and solo.

I purchased this greenhouse kit after quite a lot of research into different models and prices, for two reasons: it looked beautiful and it was designed to be stable in the face of high winds, something that we experience from time to time in Houston.

ShopGrowSpaces was an excellent company to work with: their employees provided valuable advice, and helped track the journey of the kit from Europe to the long holding pattern of ships outside the Port of Houston to my door.

It is indeed beautiful and solid. Just what I wanted. The assembly was difficult, and I was forewarned. You do need to do a lot of work on the foundation, and measure and measure again. That’s what makes it stable.

The parts are complicated and it simply takes time to get it together. My experienced handyman took on the job and was able to get it done. Not so good: I actually wonder why the parts are not labeled in some way.

There are lots of parts, and finding them is something less than easy. Simple labels (small stickers) would make the process a lot easier. For those of you wondering whether this is just a random complaint, please do look at the installation manual and you will see what I mean.

Not so good: my handyman is quite experienced, which means that he moves carefully and deliberately, which is what I wanted: DO NOT RUSH THE JOB, because you will inevitably use the wrong part. Check and double check everything.

But that means that it’s pretty much impossible to get the job done in 1-2 days. Try more like 6-7. The foundation alone will take 2 days, maybe more depending on whether you can get everything dug, rebar laid, cement poured and dried, and form removed in only two days–something less than likely.

The braces will require holes to be drilled into metal (doable if you have the tools), and other complications arise. Again, you can try to rush it–but it’s better to be realistic, deliberate, and careful to avoid creating more work for yourself.

So all in all, I give this a thumbs up, and would probably go with this product AND THIS COMPANY again. If the alternative is easy to build with cheap plastic, it simply won’t be a pretty part of your garden–and it won’t survive a major wind event.

If you go with a company that builds in place, the cost will be much higher for material and construction. But don’t assume that the instructions are easy or that it can be built quickly.

We love our Royal Victorian VI 34 Glass Greenhouse. I think we’ve had it for 3 years and it was one of the best investments we’ve made. I do not use it during the winter months, however I usually utilize it between April and November.

It has held up fabulously through all the storms. We didn’t had to look for any maintenance in last 3 years I think the only maintenance we’ve done on it was to replace the shade curtain hooks from sun rot.

My husband and son set it up in a day, after the foundation was poured, as we have it anchored to concrete. The location of our greenhouse is truly in the middle of a field with little to no protection from the elements.

I remember us struggling on deciding to purchase it when we couldn’t touch it also. For us, it was a lot of money to put out for something we could only see pictures of. There hasn’t be a day that I regretted our decision.

I would purchase another in a heartbeat. Yes! I recommend this product.

It is a great looking greenhouse. We can already feel the warmth inside in the PNW area we live in. It is made of light materials and easy to move around on our concrete back patio. So I still need to anchor it down.

We are yet to see how it holds against rain and especially snow. I would have given this greenhouse 5 stars if it weren’t for the challenging assembly. I have assembled a bigger and more complex aluminum car port and a pergola, but this small unit was something else.

The aluminum profiles do not always line up at perfect right angles because much depends on how you set them up before you tighten the bolts. In majority of the steps I had to loosen already tightened bolts so many times just so I could fit the new parts without bending profiles or damaging panels.

This constant need for readjustment took significant amount of time. It took me around 12 hours over 4 days to finish the assembly. If I had to do it all over again, I would ensure all connections were at perfect right angles before tightening anything.

Visual checks were just not good enough.

Was not expecting top of the line, but also not expecting such a poor quality greenhouse. The walls are very thin plastic, similar to what you would see wrapped around health and beauty products when you first purchase and have to cut away.

Think, plastic covers around battery packs. The individual panels sort of sway and are not firm at all when you take them out of the box. Large plastic lettuce/produce boxes are another example of the quality of the walls.

The roof panels are a bit more firm. Still not the greatest quality but more of what we anticipated the walls would be. Would have given a 3 star if the wall panels had been more like the roof panels.

Again, we knew the product wasn’t top of the line, but for the price didn’t expect it to be this flimsy. Hopefully this thing will last more than just a few months, but I don’t have high hopes at the moment.

We have not yet put it together so can’t speak to how it will look once completed.

There were a couple parts that arrived bent at one end; fortunately easy to fix with pliers or the bench vise. One part was missing; the Palram/Canopia website has a request form to have replacements sent.

Customer service was great. The instruction manual was pretty solid but there are some steps that could have been clearer, esp the size of the diagram showing the orientation of the part. I had a couple places where I think one step should have been done sooner rather than later.

Also a needlenose pliers is very useful for a couple steps. Took me about 13-14 hours to assemble, almost all just by myself. The greenhouse is pretty solid but the front panels on either side of the door are not fixed and IMO should be (the other 3 sides of each panel are).

The door isn’t super tight either. So overall not perfect but will do the job.

This greenhouse is doing great so far. The only things I would change are there are no vents in the ends near the top and the door doesn’t have a closable screen which allows bees to get in but not easily out.

For a quality cheap easy to build greenhouse you can’t go wrong with this brand. Set up was quick and simple for 2 people took less than 2 hours including the wood base frame I used to attach to a concrete patio.

I recommend adding TeX screw at all slip together connection which double the stiffness and fills much more structurally sound. I was also a little concerned about ventilation but even with 90 degree temps I haven’t noticed any issues.

This certainly exceeded my expectations. I was so excited seeing it go up. Couldn”t wait to put my plants in it. Good thing it came so fast,I would of lost my plants with a drop in temps here,it dipped to 30 gere in Florida.

My friend got it up one day before the freeze. I didn”t have to water my plants for 5 days. Love the vents on the front and back and the wide door with a zipper. we put a heater inside and it worked fine.

I seen where some peoples zippers broke after a couple of years. Well I’ll just take a tapered candle and run along the zippers. I think that should do the trick.

When I read the description and reviews it led me to believe that when the bottom was rolled upped that there was screen to keep the bug’s and (critter’s) from entering the green house. There is not !! The direction’s were a little vague also.

Have someone there who can read and decipher what they have in mind. After all that said the Green House is more than expected for the price paid. Wife is excited and I can hardly get her to leave it.

It has up to this point with stood the hard rain and wind with the anchor system provided.
