20 Best Grease For U Joints (2023 Updated)

Run my old Datsun 240Z on some fun tracks with a long straightaway. At the end of those straights a lot of demand is placed on braking. Car has old solid disc’s, aggressive brake pads and fluid with a very high boiling point.

This transfers a lot of heat to the wheel bearings through the rotors and hubs. Happy to say the grease handles it all in stride with no melting or thinning. The mid range ratings do not reflect the product but how stupid the rating system is.

“Ease of installation” it is grease how stupid is that rating!.

I use this grease for the front wheel bearings on my first gen RX-7 track car. My RX-7 with 13 inch wheels has small front rotors and thus brake temps are very high while on track. This grease has never failed me even when I have cooked the pads.

This is the only grease I use for old-school hand-packed front wheel bearings.

I believe I’ve discovered the difference between store-bought grease and the good stuff. This is all I use in my high-performance bearings now. It’s always hard to directly correlate the difference, but I’ve not seen a wheel bearing issue since using.

This grease is second to none. Perfect for rc car truck gears etc. I prefer this over the white lithium. Lucas also make team associated diff and shock fluids, extremely consistent. Excellent product

I use this to lubricate the pins, lugs, locking block, trigger assembly and chokes on my high end trap guns. It doesn’t run under high temperatures and lubricates very well over extended periods of use staying clean throughout hundreds of rounds events so no worries with possible galling on contact surfaces.

This is an absolute on my lubricate shelf for the rest of my life. I only wish I had this far sooner. My first use being I am finishing restoring 2 of my older tool boxes. One is a 2 part 22 drawer machinist box, the other is a standard 42″ 2 part 14 drawer which is modern bearing drawer slides.

I have always insisted on drawer slides being greased with a proper nlgi #2 true grease. While lithium has its place in much of my life, this isn’t one. They support a fair amount of weight and are open and closed often.

Even more so when my less experienced employees or family is searching for the correct tool. It is a major pain in the butt to pull the slides and rub them down with latex gloves. Then to even it out with q-tips.

This product saved me around a hr and a half of work. I did 8 drawers my normal way, and the rest this way. I shouldn’t have wasted the time on the first set. It’s amazing, places on vertical surfaces with no runs, goes on very visible so full coverage is assured, when I thought I put too much on i wiped a bit with a q-tip and the foam settled.

What looked like too much was just fine. Which also made me realize the rest was using a very thin coating so as not to waste. I have ordered a case already tonight, I won’t be caught without it again.

I bought this for car door hinge pins thinking it would flow around the pins and then set up to a firm grease. It is very tacky and will stick to anything it touches after it is out of the spray tube, but it would not flow into the hinge pin bushings as well as I had hoped.

Appears to be an excellent red grease but not liquid enough out of the can for my purpose. It should work well for chain, cables, sprockets, etc.

Expensive but good for hard to reach places that need a moisture resistant lubricant. Be sure to shake the can thoroughly.

I read many recommendations in pinball forums and YouTube videos for this product for electromagnetic pinball machine lubrication as this grease does not coagulate or attract/retain dirt. I could not find this in any hardware store in my area, so very happy to see HD offer this online.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve had some bad luck with this grease. I was surprised given that I was sort of expecting it to be the gold standard, but it started separating and turning to oil after a while.

I packed a small trailer set of bearings with it and it started leaking green after a year or so. I thought I had made some mistake or maybe over-tightened the spindle nut, but then I found the whole grease gun was leaking green from unused grease.

Maybe that was just a one off, but I’ll take mediocre grease any day over that experience.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have used the Lucas red grease for years, and the store happened to be out of it at the time. I figured I would use this “heavy duty” as a similar alternative grease as I have always been satisfied with Lucas products.

This grease was a mistake, and I knew it right when I put the tube in the grease gun and opened the air bleeder- this grease came rushing out like a geyser! It is so thin you don’t even recognize it as being grease, it’s more like a very heavy oil that almost flows at room temperature.

I tried it in a few fittings, and it seemed to work normally going in at room temperature. But as the bearings warmed up, this grease came running out like black watery oil and I have never seen that before.

I stopped using it right away, threw the tube away, and went back to my usual red grease.

They never tried to replace the busted tubes of grease or even try to send me my full order, which was 20 tubes. Long story short, I payed thirty dollars for only two tubes of grease. Terrible company don’t order from them.

I have been using this grease for a long time, almost 35 yrs. Never had an issue with it, whether it is a used on a car or a truck. Regrettable, that I could not find it locally anymore even though the company is here in CA.

I bought this product to keep my AR-15 bolt and bolt carrier as well as other internal parts lubricated when using it with a bump fire stock. The internals heat up fast when dumping 30 rounds in a few seconds and conventional oils just cannot hang or adhere well to the bolt carrier metal, this product does and it also minimizes the heat due to reduced friction.

For my particular application, it’s excellent.

Premium grease that will last longer than manufactures recommended intervals by far.

Purchased this product for its dielectric properties which I needed to lubricate electromechanical stepper unit contact rivets in older pinball machines. After cleaning the rivets and then applying a very thin coat of this super lube to the contact rivet points, the stepper operation is smooth and the conductive properties are very solid.

I was in need of a proper lubricant to lubricate a plastic bushing that slides against a metal guide. Other greases containing mineral oils (like vasoline) are detrimental to plastic (will make them brittle over time), and greases and oils containing solid particles don’t work as well.

Most greases also attract dust and create a gunk that is scraped off the metal guides after little usage. This adheres well to both plastic and metal, doesn’t make the parts stick, offering little to no resistance to sliding.

I have tried various things over the years to make silence on various hot water on/off handle units and have never found any that work for more than a short time. A few times I have even just bought a new faucet unit.

I use this on the high friction parts of my pistols. Switched from oil because I was tired or oil running out of the rails and basically being dry afterward. I’ve tried CLP, Rem oil, Hoppes and others.

While all oils work great right after you apply them, they aren’t so great a couple months after being applied and my pistol being carried around. A thin layer of this grease on the rails of my pistol and it’s slick as can be.

Stays in place which I why I wanted to try it out. Tested it in the -10F degree weather we had last week and it wasn’t frozen or stiff at all. I will definitely be purchasing more.

This is an excellent lubricant. I use it on my semi-automatic firearms. I apply it sparingly to all metal to metal contact points and high stress moving parts. I shoot frequently and keep my guns clean.

I’ve used Lucas grease for about a year and a half, and wear appears to be kept to a minimum. The firearms function well when I use the Lucas grease. It must be stressed to use it sparingly because this, like all greases, will attract dirt and grit.

Clean your guns frequently and re-apply the grease.

This grease is semi clear and is dielectric so can be use on electrical components. Most petroleum based greases will destroy plastic a poly bushings, this grease will not. This grease is very sticky and contains Teflon and looks to be the same grease provided with many poly bushings and ignition components.

It’s also recommended for use in assembly line factory equipment and is a food grade grease. I don’t know how it will hold up under high loads such as wheel bearings. I used is for poly suspension joints and to prevent corrosion on electrical components.

Also with its semi clear color it’s low mess.

This lube fits into a normal cartridge grease gun from the auto parts store. If you are working with polyurethane bushings on a modified vehicle they should be lubed with this not a petroleum based grease.

This lube will help preserve the urethane bushings and is compatible with silicone also. It is great stuff. I am using it on Energy Suspension.

Got the name right from the very beginning,Super Lube. It can be used for di-electric use,food service, even bearing service. Stays where you put it. I use it when installing tail light bulbs,greasing the steering on tractors and universals.

Technically it may not replace every lubricant on the planet earth but it’s closer than the rest of them.

when I put my boat into the water, I back down the boat ramp until my trailer is under so the boat float’s off the trailer. I have use MANY bearing grease in the past ranging from $4 to $25 but this grease is the BEST.

I now use it on my brakes caliper’s and their bolts and water does NOT wash it away. GREAT STUFF.

Great super grease cheaper than the competition with a brand name you can trust. If you are greasing poly bushings this is a necessary grease to buy. Being a super grease it is non petrolium based which will not soften your bushings overtime resulting in decreased life of your bushings.

Also much better water/dirt seal and overall quality of lube/grease.

Grease is super stick and hard to remove, be sure to use gloves when applying to urethane bushings. Tube does need tighter end cap, it had come off during shipping. Only a little came out in the box but a little makes a big mess with this stuff.

This was just what I needed to lubricate my new poly bushings, very sticky. Price is outrageous
