20 Best Gravel For Shed Base (2023 Updated)

Easy to follow instructions with letters on each metal piece. Info shows exactly how long each board is needed for that section. Also the easy to read metal templet for drawing the perfect angle. We are building a greenhouse instead of a storage building.

Bought 2 kits to make an 8×14 shed. Bought these because the framing hardware is metal not plastic like the competitor. Also calls for 2×4 boards not 2×2 so should be much sturdier. Taking it up to our cottage to build.

The extra storage this will give me will be very useful. Will comment again after construction.

If you are going to buy a framing kit this is the one to get! Why? Because it is designed and made better than the others! Very strong and goes together great. I highly recommend it!!!!

the shed is perfect for my requirements – I have just about enough space to accommodate it and it holds everything I envisaged storing in it. It’s location is fairly sheltered, so can’t comment on how well it would handle high winds (although an anchoring kit is available if required).

It has had some heavy downpours and the inside has remained bone dry. It took 2 men a good day to erect; the instructions are good but have to be followed VERY carefully – we managed to go wrong a couple of times which added to the build time, possibly by an hour in toto, maybe not quite that long.

It does have some restriction on available head height, so some care is needed entering and exiting the shed ( I am 5ft 8in – so not particularly tall). Very pleased overall, and would recommend.

This is a very nice shed. We had a friend put it together and it took him all day because there were so many pieces. We would have never been able to do it. We love the skylight and double doors

I brought this building for lawn equipment , other things that i do use often , to clear out the garage , it dose the job .

We recently had porcelain slabs laid and the landscaper did a pretty terrible job. The paving and slabs were uneven where we wanted the shed to be placed. I was worried that the shed floor would sit unevenly or the plastic base could potentially crack.

These Ecobase Fastfit System were a perfect solution for us. It raises the shed a little so the door can open properly and the base can easily be manipulated and levelled using stones. Our Keter 6 x 4ft Darwin Shed was smaller than the Ecobase Fastfit System so I used a multi tool kit to cut the base to size and fit them like a jigsaw very easily then added gravel pea shingle.

Quick Tip, Dry fit everything first. Measure the size you need and cut the panels you need one at a time then slot back in. You can easily move later. Mistake I did was I cut all together and ended up cutting 1 the wrong side.

Wasn’t a big issue as I just moved that to the end. We only needed 6 and a half bags of Gravel Pea Shingle.

Solid but it’s very tight size wise. While the base is sturdy and I’m glad it’s made from recycled material, the sizing recommended for my shed is super tight length wise and the shed sits on the very edge.

I appreciate the next size up would be large so I’m wondering if they could introduce half blocks.

A very practical and useful product. Storm water was accumulating on our concrete patio and seeping into our crawlspace. HEXpave was a perfect solution because it’s permeable but still provides a firm feel underfoot.

I leveled the ground, extended the patio and added a pathway (about 400 sq ft of hexpave). It was ideal for the straight walking path, but was more challenging to install around the curves and bends.

HEXpave doesn’t interlock on every side. Each of the 4 sides has a partner side on the next grid. Laying the first grid predetermines the direction every other grid will go. In the rounded portions of the patio, I felt like I was occasionally wasting a large portion of a grid.

5 out of 5 for squares and rectangles. A little tougher with curved shapes.

Planning to put a shed on the side yard. I decided to put crushed stone down before placing the shed. The grass/ gravel paving system provided a creative solution to transition from the gravel area to the grass yard.

It solved another problem that I hadn’t considered when I made the purchase. The landing/slab outside the garage, side entrance door was actually below ground level. I attached the paver grid to the slab and back-filled it with stone to make it even with the yard.

It is very easy to work with this material/system.

Our first installation as the garden shed base was quiet successful – stable and quick. Encouraged by our first experience we were embarking on a bigger project – paving the whole side yard and part of the front yard.

The second installation holded up for a few month, but then surprisingly started to warp as Spring brought warm weather. Most of the connections unraveled – with sides of the pavers curling up – (we used a lot of landscape 8″ staples to hold pavers together, but unraveling continued ).

We partially removed the pea gravel filled pavers – drilled paver and connected them together with ring hogs, it’s working but considering that we spend more then $3000. 00 for the pavers thinking it will be an easy installation – our purchase hardly a bargain.

We are located in Northern California this summer temperature was above 108 few times – but nowhere in the description of the project it said that the temperature will be an issue. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THESE PAVERS.

Foundation kit means you still need to find a perfectly flat piece of ground, so likely not the grass, and you’ll need tl provide the floor. If you have the money to spend on this product, whatever you’ll need to level your ground, and then a plywood floor (most cost effective), also make sure you have time.

Opened the box and kept pulling out piece after piece after piece. Stacked it all where i wanted to put it and opened the manual. After looking at the picture of all the parts, I closed the manual and haven’t opened since.

Still in pieces, a normal size branch fell on the pile of pieces. Nothing much bigger than something a larger dog would play with. Put a hole in one of the panels. Bought this almost a year ago and it’s still in pieces leaning against my fence.

I have zero interest in putting together a now broken nightmare. Go to a hardware store and look at their built sheds they keep in the parking lot so you know what you’re getting before wasting your life on boxed crap.

It took me about a year to get this shed thanks to covid. Well I finally got it delivered last week and got it put in today. It’s a vinyl shed that’s on the cheaper side of things so I wasn’t expecting a whole lot out of it, but I’m pleasantly surprised with the shed.

I was able to put it together by myself in one day. There’s a few things I think could be added to it but I’ll be able to take care of that myself. Where the roof pieces overlap, the corners kind of flare out.

A self-tapping is through both and into the metal support will fix it. There’s a few places I wish it was a little more sealed up. There’s a pretty sizable Gap on the back side of the door and in a few places along the edge of the building.

But like I said, I wasn’t expecting a super precise top of the line shed. The holes were all where they should be, I didn’t have to fight any plugs or screws getting them to line up, the shed seems pretty sturdy, the vinyl is nice I think it’s going to last a long time.

It’s definitely the perfect shed if you were looking for something to store equipment for yard working.

I puchased this shed on Craig’s List for an absurdly low price – the catch was I had to disassemble and re-assemble it myself. Which I did, all by myself. The hardest part of disassembling it was getting the plastic pop-rivets off the roof without breaking them (the trick is to lever a thin screwdriver under the central pin and push that out, then the rest of the rivet comes out easily).

I made sure to put small parts in separate ziplock bags at each stage of the disassembly and write notes on the outside of the ziplock bag about what went where and in what order. The hardest part of re-assembly was trying to follow the printed instructions instead of simply reversing my own steps from taking it apart.

The printed instructions have you start at a low corner at the door end of the shed, which leaves an unsupported panel flopping in the wind while you are trying to read the next instruction. After that fell down and I undid the crimp that that put in the metal track along the floor, I went back to my own instructions and started at the sheltered, non-door end, applied the bracing, and then did the two long sides in parallel, attaching the bracing as I went along.

If you are assembling from scratch, I highly recommend pre-assembling certain assemblies, such as putting the plastic endpieces on the metal pillars and putting together segments of bracing the length of the wall that they go on, as long as you make sure to connect them up correctly (there are a couple of pieces that look very similar, but are specialized for either the low or high side of the shed).

The shed I bought on Craig’s List had a crack in one panel (that the seller had taped with duct tape and didn’t disclose, and I didn’t notice until I got it home). I don’t know how the panel got cracked – it looks like maybe someone drove a fork lift or a pickup truck over it, as there are some scuff marks present.

Duramax sells replacement panels, but I elected instead to repair the crack using a specialty vinyl repair tape (Repair-Aid type B) inside and out. So far, it’s holding up well. Duramax does not recommend using repair tape, they recommend using silicone sealant.

The shed is a really good shape and size for us, I really like the asymmetrical “shed”-style roof, which allowed me to put it right up against the house. It came with a floor system and a flimsy metal “foundation” to go under the plywood.

That all fit together nicely. I assume the seller bought the plywood, but I don’t know for sure. I didn’t want to have to do a lot of work digging up our yard to get everything flat and level, so I bought three large plastic shipping pallets off of Craig’s List and zip-tied them together, then put the shed’s foundation system on top of that.

The pallets are sufficiently rigid, plus they drain well when it rains, so I don’t end up with the shed sitting in a puddle. Speaking of rain, we’ve had a lot of it lately, and the shed is dry as a bone inside.

I did put a dollop of sealant on each of the pop-rivets in the roof, which allowed me to re-use those rivits without fear of leaks. All in all, a great shed! Rebeccah One star off for the instructions – they are not bad, but could be better.

I should have paid closer attention to the reviews that commented on the faulty alignment of the doors as they were absolutely correct! To pay for a new item and end up with a defected one is not worth the money, especially if you invest more for assembly, which I did, on top of paying extra for the shelves.

My advice is this…be aware and ready that if your item is defected, sadly, you’ll get very little support from Walmart. My shed was disassembled twice in the attempt to get the doors to align, which they never did, so definitely not rainproof.

You could send it back and take a chance the replacement will work out, but you’ll also have to invest more time to disassemble and repack the shed…it’s hardly worth it. I had to literally fight and spend hours with customer service before they would even consider providing a discount of any kind.

Their 5% discount offer was an insult…I finally accepted $28…hardly worth the time, money, and hassle…but after the initial contact it became more about the principle…why should customers accept paying for a defected item?.

I purchased my shed from a reseller that sells sheds directly to you, for less money. Maybe just purchase it right from Lifetime? That website had overseas customer support that was lacking in common sense.

So, the shed arrived. The freight shipper insisted that their subcontracted shipper (for delivery) would call me 30 minutes before arrival. NOPE! Thankfully, I was there! And, thankfully, my driver had delivered Lifetime sheds, before, and had an idea what to do.

The shed arrived in three large boxes–quite heavy. The skid was 8′ long and maybe 40″ or 48″ wide. The delivery driver only had a regular pallet jack–there was no way to move the skid to the lift gate.

So, we cut the shrink wrap and slid the large cartons to the lift gate. One carton was 8′ L × 40″ W × 16″ thick. Another was the same width & thickness, but maybe only 6′ long. A third was maybe 8′ L × 40″ W × 5″ thick (light/easy).

Monster boxes! Then, they tossed some small boxes on top, loose–my snow load brackets and tool corral. One box was completely mutilated, but all of the snow load brackets and screws remained inside.

So, we muscled this thing off the truck. The driver left (thankfully, he was excellent!). I then, immediately, opened up the boxes and separated out the parts, moving most parts inside until construction weekend.

It’s easy to tell what the parts are, to sort them out. I completed my newly purchased shed on Sunday, February 6TH, 2022. I constructed it on my deck. Having a flat base for this shed is ESSENTIAL! Spend more time on your flat base (deck or concrete).

I was lucky that I had a deck, but I’m sure that this step will mess up most people later on. I assembled my roof brackets, first, including my snow load brackets, which are attached with provided, self-tapping screws—no pre-drilled holes for them.

I then assembled the floor. Then the wall sections. As you build the walls, you must fold the corners. The straight walls and half of each corner are attached in a tongue and groove sort of style. Easy.

However, once you bend the corners, you must snap the newly-bent-side’s two tongues down into the floor. I weigh 250 pounds and still struggled with this, even properly using their plasic “wood block.

” Lifetime needs to reengineer that, to eliminate the snapping. Walls done. Time to install the doors. You must slide a pipe all of the way through the door. My one door had a lot of plastic flash (when hot liquid plastic squeezes into places that it shouldn’t) in the way of the pipe’s hole.

What a bear! I got it through, though. The pipes then each set into a plastic cup, meant to serve as a bearing and pivot point. You then must wiggle a long, teensy cotter pin through a slot in the cup, through holes in the pipe, through the other slot of the cup, and bend the pin.

Guess what. Both cups crack at their slots. This cotter pinning was impossible to do. So, the doors are mounted as best as they can be. Very poor design. Time for the roof. The trusses only set in their slots, on top of the wall sections–not actually attach.

The trusses also act as rain gutters. As you assemble the roof, you must remove your snow brackets, as you go, and then reinstall them after the roof panels are fastened. This is because those self tapping screws will end up drilling into the roof panels’ lips.

You can’t get the roof panels’ lips down, onto their trusses, with the self-tapping snow load brackets’ screws jutting into the sides of the channels of the roof truss/rain gutter. Also, the directions tell you to use a manual screwdriver, throughout.

Be ready for a super tired & sore arm, especially after all of the roof screws! Also, we seemed to have to fight the roof panels to fit right, the entire way. Sometimes, you would just start with a random screwhole that line up, and work your way through the other ones.

And, voila! Everything all sort of popped together and lined up. Not easy, but doable, with frustration. Overall, the bags were labeled quite well. My compliments on Fastenal making your hardware bags.

They were all done right, until bag EMJ. I think that the instructions read either DAH or DRH, maybe? I had to go through the rest of the instruction book, and then determined, by process of elimination, that bag EMJ was correct.

Being that you’re working outside, it would also be great to have a bag that says, “SPARE HARDWARE,” as most people will inevitably drop and lose a tiny screw. The top roof panels and skylights went easily.

The thumb button fits too tightly into the top of the door handle for the spring to do its job. Other note: The woodgrain pattern in the plastic is different (smoother) for one corner and the extension segment.

The rest of the woodgrain pattern is rougher. This is very noticeable. I put the extension segment’s walls on the back, gable end. Also, label the large cartons so that people know which one to open first (floor, roof trusses, instructions; wall segments; roof panels).

And, in spite of telling you not to use a drill, they give you a 1¼” #2 Phillips hex bit for your drill. Huh! THANK YOU FOR MANUFACTURING THIS SHED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! Was this shed a challenge? YES.

However, was it worth it? YES! Just be determined and follow the directions! Will I be buying another Lifetime USA-made shed? ABSOLUTELY (just a different size to fit a different space). Actually, probably buy several more of their sheds.

Lifetime’s sales agents were fantastic, even though I purchased the shed from a reseller.

Shed itself it really good, holding up well so far with Texas Summer with 108 temp. However setting it up was not an easy task. Instructions needs to be updated and made easier to follow. with current instructions it takes more than a day to assemble everything by two people, but with proper instructions it could be done in 8 hours, if we had to do it again we now know how to set it up.

Also Base is very important, we choose to pour concrete and keep it flat as it was very important step to start and make sure surface is very flat. Slight difference in surface flatness with cause doors not to be aligned and will require shimming of opposite end for door that is not aligning, also more metal bar support for front and side wall would make it more sterdy and avoid warping of rasin walls over the time, so I thin more metal bar supports would certainly help in long run.

Sky lights are not clear but hazy and there is no way to change.

I bought the shed for storage for all of our boating and entertainment supplies at our marina, that includes a refrigerator. It was purchased in the spring of 2019, and despite being moved 200 feet away from the river each fall, and back in the spring, it continues to stay strong and together.

It’s a little tough to put together, but if done correctly it should last a long time, a maybe, just maybe a Lifetime! We lost the skylight and an end cap to a windstorm, but when I called to order a new one, surprise, it was free of charge! I also have a banquet table and 8 chairs that we use for family events, as well as a folding picnic table that all are in great shape, after years of use.

So, if your thinking of going with plastic from Lifetime, I say go for it!.

First, definitely hire them to assemble – not worth pulling your back out. Second, be prepared to find a way to keep rain and snow out. After winter we went inside and water was under the floor, which comes up when you step on it.

Good thing we stored almost everything in plastic bins. We are still trying to figure out a way to stop this. Third, close the door after you open it! I left it open while doing yard work and spent about 20 minutes to get it closed.

The top of the door seemed to expand and was higher and it wouldn’t close. We had to strongly slam it. It was not a fun task! Four, they need to fix these things because after a concrete slab, the shed and installation this was NOT CHEAP!.

The shed went up easy. It recommends a concrete slab or a wooden base as a foundation. I had already leveled the ground and added pavers before I opened the box with instructions. The freight driver delivered the shed and placed it in the driveway.

I move each of the four boxes by two wheeled dolly to the backyard. One box came apart while moving through my gate so I just sorted the contents were I was going to assemble it. The rest I placed back on the pallet that it was delivered on and tarped it.

It took me 3 days from roughly 10am -3pm to assemble the shed by myself. My wife helped me with the roof ridge (cluster of skylights that are assembled together that run the whole 20’) and hanging the plastic shutters.

I used step ladders to help hold the walls when I started assembling the shed. I also used a tall step ladder and a 2×4 to hold pressure on the roof so I could screw together some spots. Luckily everything fit together and the doors open well.

I’m overall please with the product. Hopefully it’ll last a long time. Next project is to add shelving inside and a bike rack to organize all the kids bikes in order to clean out my attached garage.

Initially, I failed to purchase this product at the Sauve Street outlet (Montreal) because they had none “in stock”. I had to settle with a local brand of “Kiln Dried Sand” by A. Boudrias Inc. and thought that I had scored a real deal because the Home Depot site listed it a only $3.

00, which was cheaper than the Quikrete Sand listed at $6. 85! However, I inexplicably needed to pay $9. 18, at the cash for the A. Boudrias stuff! I bought it anyway and came home, opened the well-sealed bag of this A.

Boudrias, so-called “Kiln-Dried” crap, and discovered that it was soaking wet and it must have contained at least 5% to 10% water! They must have mistakingly placed the sand in a sauna and not a kiln.

The next day I was able to find the Quikrete sand at HomeDepot’s St. Henri outlet and was delighted with the quality of their sand! Super Fine Grain & Very Dry!!! Great buy!.

We used this sand to fill in our offset patio umbrella base. The sand itself was quite sandy. Small, dry, coarse … a lot like sand. Not suitable for consumption (learned that the hard way).

The shed once completed is absolutely fantastic, you can see that Lifetime had listened to the reviews and tested the product. There were little things that I noticed that were clearly addressed by testing and feedback.

Once completed there are no sharp edges, places where you would think it would leak are addressed by the engineering of the product and even the amount and options for instruction are abundant. You can even scan a QR code for each step of directions.

Why not 5 stars you ask. For my build the hardware did not match the instructions leading to frustration, the truss assembly instruction I think missed some steps or maybe I just didn’t see it. Hardware was not identical to what I had in my set (I had lock nuts when it called for cap nuts).

Save yourself some time and DO NOT ASSUME YOU KNOW HOW IT IS GOING TO GO, JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER. Some of the indicators for using or not using certain tolls were sometimes confusing.

I wish that they would create a full set of instruction in one language, making 3 to different booklets, it would really save on confusion. You CAN use wood for the subfloor, but like the instructions say, I HIGHLY suggest to use concrete, even the smallest amount of flex in the floor makes for very large gaps, especially once you get to the roof that is six foot away from a half inch of flex.

Having a solid floor will both make construction easy and extend the life of your shed. I used a wood subfloor because this is a temporary structure in my case and there were times I was using points where pieces are held together with screws to shift pieces to fit together because of subtle flex in the lumber subfloor.

Another pain point is when addressing a new step it shows you the hardware needed for that step but not the actual piece need for the step, it would only provide the naming nomenclature. What I mean by that is it would provide a picture of the screw but and washer but not a picture of the piece going in, it would just say “CKK(2) CKJ(2)”.

This caused you to continually flip back and forth pages to see what CKK and CKJ looked like. I’ll provide a picture in the review to show what I mean. All in all, there were times of frustration as all projects do, but once finished, I was really impressed with the finished product and I would absolutely purchase again.

You can also see where Lifetime has put thought into the engineering and listened to feedback. I left a comment on the YouTube video and someone responded, even though I was done with my build. Hope this helps.

We had an older shed from a different brand that the big bad wolf had taken a big dislike to it. We had fixed it up several times only to be blown down again. The last time was a doozy as it was almost knocked flat.

It was time to go new shed shopping. We looked at wood, metal, vinyl, plastic. The whole spectrum. We priced out building it ourselves but with lumber prices being the way they are in our area, it proved to be too costly.

Our local codes allowed us to build up to a 120 sq. ft. shed without a permit, and our last shed was just under 50 sq. ft. and was packed to the gills, we knew we needed bigger and better. After looking around we settled on model # 60079.

Plus we also ordered the a Snow Load kit as we live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. We love our shed with some minor flaws. First, when you unpack it, find the instruction manual and check for the yellow pages.

They are the parts identifier and list what is in each box. MAKE SURE YOU GET WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO!! I just finished building mine and I came up missing one little sky light and it was raining lightly as I was putting on the last of the roof sections and the sky lights.

I called Customer Service and they apologized and are shipping me out the missing piece plus one extra one that I damaged while installing it. As you unpack the items, place similar items together and out of direct sunlight.

They get hot quickly and may warp. So, it is better to put them where they stay cool and organized. When building a platform to put the shed on, flat and level is a beautiful thing!! Also, if you are putting it on anything other than concrete, go up in size.

I built my wooden base out of 2×4’s as the manual suggested. I should have gone with 2×6’s. It would have made it a lot stronger. Also build in more support underneath the beams. I used 2″ concrete pavers.

I wish I had used more of them. I place 3 across and 4 down each side. I should have placed them every 2 beams not every 3 beams in the interior. That way the decking would have deflected less. When building the trusses, keep the interior of the trusses as clean as possible.

That way, the roof pieces will fit in better. If you are using a snow load kit, it is easier to pre-drill the wholes than just use the self drilling screws. At least I found it that way. When putting the floor panels down, you will need another person, or some heavy weights to help keep the floor from moving.

And, don’t be surprised if some of the outside edges don’t come quite together. When you start to put up the side walls, follow the directions as to where to start. The wall panels need to go in in a specific order.

And when you get in a couple of panels, put in a couple of screws to help hold them together. Also, check with a level to make sure they are plumb. It is easier to check and correct when you have a few installed than a whole side.

And keep checking every few panels. The instruction manual is a bit hard to understand at times. If you are unsure, CALL LIFETIME!! it is better to ask then to take it down and redo it. Or look at some videos online.

If a part seems hard to go in, take a utility knife and cut away some of the excess plastic. I had to due it frequently during my build. Not a big problem but something you deal with when working with plastic/vinyl products.

I found that it helped having a nail apron to put screws in. I used both an impact driver and a screw gun. The screw gun has a clutch that you can set so you don’t over drive the screw. I also had magnetic bit holders to help keep the screws in place as I drove them in.

They do give you extras so don’t worry if you have left overs. All in all, I would buy another large shed from Lifetime. I have a small garden shed that I bought from Costco and a deck box that I have had for a decade now.

Still works great.

I purchased a Lifetime 8′ x 15′ storage shed to organize my yard. It’s on two different levels. I have a shed with a pool house/storage area on the pool deck level but needed a place to store other items used frequently on another level.

I did my research and Lifetime products stand up and are well made. I have a pool deck box and a garden shed that are both Lifetime products for 6 years. They are both in excellent condition and have withstood the test of 4 seasons.

I’ve learned over the years to stick with what works. Lifetime sheds and products are well made, designed to be practical and useful, a great value and withstand the test of time compared to other products.

During the process of assembling the shed, I misplaced a small piece that the door bar sets in along with the cotter pin that goes through it. The customer assistance rep I spoke with was fantastic. I asked if I could purchase a replacement part and he said, this happens and he’ll ship the part out to me for free right away.

This was a Friday afternoon. On Monday morning, Fed-Ex delivered the part and I had the shed finished in another hour. As a former business owner, the rep I spoke with is exactly the type of employee I’d want representing my company.

My experience with Lifetime products and now customer service rates 5 stars. I’m a Lifetime customer for life.

I really like the look and design of this cabinet. It fits most of what I wanted to put in it, but the dimensions listed online are definitely not accurate. The actual dimensions are: 69” tall, 19. 5” deep (interior), 21” deep (exterior), 31” wide (interior), 35.

5” wide at roof line. Assembly is best with 2 people. May take an hour or 1. 5 hours. The assembled cabinet is light enough to push into its final place. I would not leave this out in the open. It’s going onto a covered porch at our house.

If I knew about the actual size, I might have opted for a cheaper cabinet with these smaller dimensions, instead of paying extra for more space, which we didn’t get.

Not made of cedar, but of “wood of cedar family” – slightest scratch reveals pure white material underneath. Flimsy construction; no resistance to torque – finished shed twists if upper corner pushed with one hand.

End gables’ heights differed by >6 mm. Middle gable’s bottom warped down in center (below ground) by 5mm. Upper back panel corner warped 120mm from flat, but could be held in place for assembly. Support for side of one bin shelf >10 degrees from horizontal.

Roof attached by screws into roof’s glued-in end bars – one bar fell off roof when I screwed it into shed wall. Wordless instructions poor – often do not show sequence, or how to ensure things are at right angles.

Almost all the screws had to redone to compensate for wonky geometry. Comes in two sturdy boxes (sorry I didn’t keep them).

I am 58 years old and I have owned and assembled a number of plastic sheds over the years with relatives and friends. I also check out the latest plastic sheds at the lumber stores and Costco. The LIFETIME SHEDS are by far the best built engineered plastic sheds on the market.

As soon as you feel how thick and heavy the individual plastic wall, floor, and roof sections are you know that got your money’s worth. The large assembly screws are strategically placed in several key locations to guarantee the shed is going to stay together.

I have owned other sheds that are poorly engineered and over time the roof pulls away from the top of the wall because it was only held together a couple of screws. LIFETIME has several screws along the roof and wall, plus contours in the plastic that suck in the roof to the wall making sure that it will never come apart.

There are several large screws holding together each wall panel. My shed had three metal support bars per roof panel to handle the snow load. Compare this with the competition. When we recently moved I was able to dismantle my 11 X 21 shed and assemble it without instructions because it is so logically engineered.

During the move I somehow lost a small piece and Lifetime’s Customer Service was excellent to deal with. I highly recommend their sheds.

We bought this shed several years ago and it looks almost as good as new. A few years ago, we discovered that someone had tried to break in while we were out of town. The door lock brackets were bent, along with part of the door hanging hardware, but no one got in! Recently, one piece of corner trim and one skylight were broken during a serious hail storm.

I finally had to call for parts and it was a totally painless experience. Lifetime has a great product, warranty, and customer support department. I should have called sooner! So happy with the service!.

It took a month to receive my shed and about 50 hours to build it. I am a experienced field technician with many years of mechanical experience. The instructions were fairly clear. The front doors were the hardest part taking me about hours to install and adjust.

I think simple barn doors would have been a better choice. I also noticed that the window walls were a lighter color than the solid walls. This to me is a quality control issue. I also wished the walls would have been thicker.

My last shed was also plastic and it lasted 20 years but the walls were twice as thick. Time will tell if it will last through storms and snow. For those reasons I rated it 4 stars. It is a very nice looking shed.

Once we figured out how to put it up, it was pretty easy. It does not come with clear instructions. I had to google how to put it up. It is much easier with 2 people. After assembly, I was very impressed with it.

It is perfect for holding extra stuff that I have no storage for and has held up in the rain as well. I live in Texas so we will have to see how it holds up in the Texas heat next summer.

I purchased this for my mom recently for Mother’s Day, she wanted something to put the lawn mower is so she doesn’t have to hike it around the house and up my neighbors driveway anymore. The product itself is okay it works for what she needs it for but there are a bunch of pin size holes in the product so don’t be surprised when it rains that whatever’s inside doesn’t get wet.

The worst thing about it are that there are no instruction on how to put it together! They give you a piece of paper with picture diagrams on it but it doesn’t explain anything all it says is to put the colors together ( some pieces weren’t even color coded so we had to figure it out ourselves) so if your looking to purchase this product good luck putting it together!! It’s a 3 person job with only the two of us we had to put the frame together first then we layed it on its side on top of the cover( easiest way to do it, trust me we tried many ways!) and then we just tried to put the cover on it one side at a time (the hardest part was getting the poles in the pockets which will be self explaintory when trying to put it together).

It just takes a lot of struggling and “a little” frustration but in the end we got it together so it is possible. I know this was a long comment but I hope it helps in the decision of buying this product.

Poorly written instructions; you have to put together “ends” of poles colored either red, blue or green — there were no poles marked green!! Also you have to put red ends into the connection angles but they don’t tell you in which direction.

Took over an hour to figure it out.

This would have received 4-5 stars if they had supplied the right material. They provided what I can only assume were wood screws because every screw we tried kept stripping or breaking on the threads.

We tried predrilling holes and the drillbit broke several times – we tried several different drills, didn’t go too fast, and even still, were having incredible difficulty getting them in. Went to the store and bought new screws because we were running out, and the new metal screws we bought worked without needing any predrilling.

So clearly they sent the wrong screws. Had to spend way more time and money because of this error and was extremely displeased. Even with the right metal screws, it was extremely difficult to drill through several pieces of metal.

I do recommend predrilling some of the holes to make it easier. Also please note this size is mainly for lifetime 8×10/10×8 sheds. We used this on a different 10×8 shed and the actual dimensions are around 7.

8×9. 10, lifetime sheds seem to run a bit under 8×10, but other sheds are exact so make sure you note. It worked with our 10×8 but it is riiight on the edge and we may end up putting a 2×4 around the edges just to make sure we have extra support.

Also make sure you read the directions carefully and cut your oriented strand board to the correct dimensions since strand boards come in 96 inch and you need it to be 94 inch. Extremely displeased that we lost an entire day and had to purchase extra screws to get this done correctly.

Pros: Easy to assemble. Easy to install depending on where you’re installing it. The C-channels are very strong. Appear to be CEE channels (1 5/8″ wide joists, 6″ tall, uniform thickness around the C-shape) 16Ga rails and 18Ga joists.

It comes with L-flashing and tape. I have yet to use it but that’s convenient. Gave this 4/5 due to some of the Cons. I would like to fast-forward 20 years and tell you how it held up. That’s why I picked these instead of a wood platform.

Concrete was an option but this is less expensive in my area. Cons: There was some minor shipping damage at the ends of some pieces, whether joists or L-flashing (the box could be better). I was still able to assemble it.

Need better instructions on the OSB plywood. Size is listed only. It should specify Exposure-1 or pressure treated OSB. Pressure treated OSB in my area is only in 5/8″ thickness, not 3/4″. I plan on calling to verify the OSB, type and whether there is a need for additional moisture protection (paint or some kind of plastic barrier / wrap).

Notes: The ground needs to be extremely level. this is not really a “con” just a fact. The frame is very flexible to torsional twist or skewing the rectangle. I am spraying the frame with enamel coating to further rust proof it.

Galvanized steel can still rust (even if it takes 20 yrs).

5 stars, but. they didn’t send self tapping screws needed to assemble. Sent just regular screws. No problem as I had a box on hand. Otherwise excellent product and detailed assembly instructions and great how to videos on their you tube channel.

Bought this a month ago; package had the incorrect roof support brackets. Suncast promptly sent replacements – good service response. The gasket for windows is a poor design; too large and deforms window.

Better to simply lay a small bead of silicone caulk around and through crosses for a rain seal and flat contact. When installing the roof struts, make sure the width of the roof, as determined by screwing in the supports, has tabs and holes the identical width.

This avoids tab pressure when forcing the root to slide in place. Assembled, should last years.

Bought this to store my camping stuff and protect it from the elements. I live in a small townhouse and this shed is just perfect for what I need. I did an extensive research on what product will best fit my needs and the most economical, I found this on sale here at Zoro and I couldn’t be happier.

It took a while to get shipped which I already expected since it is stated in the description how long it will take. Shipped directly from the manufacturer and via a freight truck. Need at least two person to unload it as it is bulky and heavy, I had it shipped to our office because we have a forklift that I use to unload and load directly to my pick-up truck, yes it’s that big.

Assembly is not too difficult, I build mine by myself for just 2 hours at night. Less 1 star for the price. #sweepstakes.

Glad we bought this shed but allow at least double the time to put together if this is your first shed assembly. We have moderate skills and it definitely took longer than the box said. Two people are required, for sure.

Our neighbour declared it to be “a good looking shed”. All parts were included, with a few spare screws and bolts etc. And none of the parts were damaged. We found a rubber mallet helpful to tap/slid the pieces together.

If assembling on a level driveway or patio you can slide the shed into place once it’s assembled. Looking forward to filling it with stuff.

Nice design. The top glides quite easily and both doors can be padlocked together with the roof in one step. The gliding top is an essential part of the design as it allows the height to be low (and therefore not aesthetically dominate a small yard) while also allowing you to walk in mowers or bikes to the back of the shed.

I was able to fit a full-size adult mountain bike and a large 13A electric mower side-by-side. It would also fit two bikes side by side if no mower. If more height is needed for garden tools, you can add a Suncast vertical shed – they are shallow and available in colours matching this shed.

Instead of a large garden shed in my small yard, I have one of these and two 54″ vertical sheds.

Now that it’s done, I’m very pleased and feel confident that it will last for years. However, it turned into a bigger project than expected due to the fact that failure to construct a rather elaborate wooden or concrete platform to hold the shed will void the warranty! Creating that platform essentially doubles the time/labor/cost, not to mention the cost of additional materials.

I’m not sure if there is anything out there that will hold together without this kind of platform, but if I’d known how big this whole project was going to get, I’d certainly have looked harder. Doing it myself would definitely not have been an option for a single 60-year-old female with a lot of other responsibilities.

As it was, it took a professional handyman and his 20-year-old son about 6 hours to complete, including time to shop for materials to build the platform.
