20 Best Gravel For Horse Stalls (2023 Updated)

We’ve got 2 yearling colts (Sorrelly and Roany) that have never been worked with or touched and 1 yearling (Dax) that we’re boarding that has. I bought these treats for the older horses. All the colts were up by the pasture fence one morning so I brought a pocketful out.

I offered one to Dax and he ate it up and wanted more. The other 2 colts got interested and came to investigate. They’ve never been hand-fed so it took a bit to catch on how to get the treat. After they ate the treat I’d rub their forehead.

They wanted more. Same thing – after each treat they would get their forehead or neck rubbed. The older horses were curious and came over and they got some treats, too. I do not give the treats daily but most mornings ALL the horses are waiting for me by the pasture fence looking for their Apple Flavor Nuggets and some rubs.

I can’t say whether these are good or not. I didn’t eat them. I’m not a horse. I also can’t say whether YOUR horse will like them. I do know, however, that my horse Jaxxon LUVS these. Like, is obsessed with them.

My pony Scarlett doesn’t like them, though. Like I said, every horse is different. Maybe Jaxxi just has rlly bad taste lol. Again, idk.

These are a staple in my tack locker! I almost always have some on hand in various flavors. I use them largely for filling my horse’s Shires treat ball which I also purchased via Chewy. They are just the right size for it and the price can’t be beat.

I love that they now have a resealable bag as well!.

I’m really hesitant to write a review for this salt, I really try not to feed Himalayan. I prefer white salt that is just “salt”. You get what it advertises and I quit buying this sometime ago because of all the impurities in it but I need to get something extra in my horses and because I can’t find white that I can hang well here I am.

And to add my horses get white table salt daily.

My walker loves hers! I was a little worried because I’ve always purchased her the peppermint-flavored blocks, but she changed stalls at the barn. With no holder on the wall, I had to buy salt on a rope.

Sierra took to it right away, and she’s already licked it smooth! It’s cheap, too!.

I’ve bought these before and my horses have always loved them. You have to rotate them or one side gets too thin from licking and might break through the hole. I wish it were more clear on how to use the rope to hang it; it comes tightly wrapped around it but I was unsure if there was a “proper” way to do it.

I just undid the rope and tucked the ends in and hoped my horses wouldn’t be too rough and knock it down. So far they haven’t.

My picky eater horse doesn’t even know there is a pill in there, and eats it no problem! She is the worst horse to medicate and she usually spits the pill right out. The treats are very soft so you can squish and mold the pill in the treat.

i am so happy i found these, as she now gets a pill once a day, and has no idea. I think these are her favorite treats now!.

I use these for my cushings horse Prascend pill every morning. I actually only use a small piece of it for his pill and split the rest of the treat with my other two horses since they love them so much.

I think with the molasses probably not the best option to feed a whole treat to a cushings horse daily but you can easily split them into smaller pieces and they would last a long time with only giving a section of the treat to one horse! They stay nice and fresh in the container and have a long shelf life.

I have used these for many years and so happy to see that Smartpak carries them now and I can even have them on autoship! I also use them to put Bute tablets in and they work amazing since the horses love the taste and don’t even notice the Bute! I also think they are a good value for 60 treats and so much easier than putting pills in something like a carrot, etc.

Welp. my dog loves them. I set up my horse’s pills in these and my dog gobbled them up while I had my back turned. Fun trip to the vet, don’t worry he’s fine. These treats crumble. Hard to hide the pills in them because they just crumble when you try to squeeze them together.

My mare also wasn’t super enthusiastic about them (even when giving them to her first without the pills). I had to switch to the German horse muffins which did a MUCH better job holding pills. They just tend to be tougher to mold, but warming them up a bit worked perfectly.

Sucks, cause now I have an almost full container of these treats and an empty bag of horse muffins.

I bought these Panaracer Slick 27. 5 X 1. 5 a month ago fitted them to my DT Swiss GR531 for my Van Nicholas Rowtag to ride in Alpi4000 a 1400km Audax Rando in Italian Alps, unfortunately in the middle of the ride before Colle dil Nivolet.

I got punctured, because I set up it a tube, it was not easy to fitted back. Anyway I sorted it but I had another punctured. But overall the rolling is very smooth and fast I managed to climbed all the colle and pass in Alpi4000 with 28,000m elevation gain.

I Happy enough.

A bit of background: I’ve been cycling for fun my whole life but never bought a new bike until four years ago. This is my first experience of splashing out on good tyres too. What I’m trying to say is perhaps I’m easily impressed! My bike is a decent, entry level hybrid and came with 32mm tyres but recently I wanted to try a smoother, fatter tyre for more speed and comfort.

I went for the 38mm Gravelking+ because I read elsewhere that other people had had problems with punctures using the regular Gravelkings. I’ve only done about 100 miles on mine so can’t really speak for the puncture protection but I haven’t had any punctures.

I LOVE the ride on these tyres. A little more comfort on bumps but what really stands out is the responsiveness. Speed on the road and security on dirt and gravel. At this point I think they are well worth the money.

I’ll just have to see how durable they are.

These were pretty good for the price I paid. The back of one of the buckets had a part that was cracked, it did not affect the functionality of the bucket but they definitely need to be more attentive when packing items and shipping out to avoid this happening in the future! Otherwise the buckets are very nice quality seems sturdy and are holding up well so far.

These buckets are very heavy duty! I bought to replace a broken bucket for one horse and then bought another for a second horse before his bucket also broke (around the top section). No problems with their hair catching in the handles; other buckets I’ve had to use vet wrap.

A little more expensive than others but well worth the extra.

I am always trying to keep my horse, Lucky, busy when he is in his stall. I use it at shows, shipping, and when he is in his stall at night. Licking is relaxing for him, so these toys are good for taking my horse’s mind off stressful events or preventing boredom.

As soon as I get the refills out of the container, Lucky knows. When I first gave him the Likit, he ate the whole thing in 24 hours, I guess that means he really likes it!! Now that he knows there will be another Likit when the last is done, he savors it.

I have since purchased several flavors. It’s nice to offer Lucky variety. It is available in 5 flavors Apple, Mint, Carrot, Molasses, and Himalayan Salt. Apple is Lucky’s favorite!.

These refills are an absolute favorite for my six-year-old OTTB. He has both the tongue twister and a jolly roller stall toy to help both his youth-driven boredom and mouthy-ness. These definitely do the trick and he seems to love every flavor available.

Just be forewarned that if you have one with a sweet tooth like mine, they might go through them fairly quick—as fast as a few hours to a couple days, so I will put the salt refill in until it’s time to treat him to a sweet snack.

Likewise, he has the metabolism of a hummingbird, so I’m less concerned with a sugar-spike or founder, but for those who have the Cushing/insulin-resistant types, might be wise to use caution, just in case.

I thought my husband had, for unknown reasons, put the jalapeño chips he likes to eat in my barn bag. when I started searching for the chips I discovered that it was the carrot flavored Likit that was letting off the bizarre smell.

My horse didn’t even want to be in the stall with it and spent the next half hour after I hung it up at the far end of her paddock. My friend’s garbage disposal of a horse did decide to eat it–the whole barn smells when he works on it.

The Likit did provide an entertaining game where people took turns smelling it and guessing what flavor it was supposed to be. Two stars because a horse did technically eat it and for the entertainment provided.

My OTTB mare was getting increasingly bored in her stall and stared eating manure, so I got a couple of these to entertain her. She is definitely interested in them, but if they are hanging away from a wall where she has to work at it, she loses interest pretty quickly.

The little reward is not worth the effort for her! But, If I hang it (which is not recommended) so she can *just* get it over to a wall if she tries, she will keep trying and it keeps her busy enough to quell most of the coprophagy.

She does love it if she can get to it, as evidenced by her sticky face in the morning! So, it does work, kind of, but it won’t last as long if your horse is the type that needs more instant gratification.

I am always looking for a snack/treat product for my horses. Over the years I have discovered that all these treat things I’ve bought disappear very quickly with my horses eating them so fast but I was very pleasantly surprised with these hanging ball treats.

I’ve had mine hanging in the barn for going on 3 weeks now and the horses still try to take a bite. I’m thinking they will last about a month. I usually give them the lick it twirly things but they only last a couple days and honestly they look like they could hurt the horses teeth the way they go crazy over eating them.

FYI my horses are not ever stalled so they can come and go whenever they please. I’m sure if they was stuck in a stall all day the hanging balls would not last quite as long. I hope you try them I think you will find it’s more for your money since the horses have to lick them instead of biting them like the lick it rolls.

Believe it or not, this was the first Uncle Jimmy hanging balls treat I’ve ever bought. I know, I know, I’m behind the times. I thought it would be a nice distraction in a corner of the stall where a mare recently had a pretty big accident in.

after a few days she decided the corner was a pretty good place to be, half toy half treat! It has lasted near 30 days, with maybe an hour of interaction a day. I imagine a 24/7 stalled horse would fly thru it in about a week.

Very happy I finally got on the bandwagon!.

I bought these as my first set of winter weather tyres, my summer set were proving to be useless in any slop. I cant say the EXT went up easily tubeless , they were very hard work but once on the rim using a tube to seat them the rest went very quickly.

I have used them on road , gravel and mud and they have impressed me so far. I was suprised how well they roll on road , thicker mud of slop is good too , a bit slippery on surface mud but not as bad as my summer tyres.

They hold air well with no side wall leaks too. I went for the 38mm and they look narrow , although I haven’t measured them I considered buying the next width up but didnt want them to draggy on the road.

Now to sea how much road wear they take between the off road sections but the rest I am pleased with.

Bought the 38mm versions, I don’t see the point in the plus versions if you’re running tubless save yourself the pennies, these are nice and sturdy. There FAST and I mean FAST on the road you’re not really giving up anything to the GK slicks I run them at around 40-48psi depending on what I’m riding which is a good compromise cushion and rolling resistance.

And considering how shallow the knobs are (product photography is a little deceiving) they actually grip really on the loose stuff. They come up bang on 38mm after a day on 19mm internal rims and expect them to get a little fatter.

What more could you want? Extreme? these will be my do anything tiers and they’ll stay on.

I took off a star even though the published measurements for the Horse size brow band and rein length are correct. the caveson 23” is the correct measure at the smallest hole not the published 22″ and the ‘bit to bit’ measurement on the smallest hole is 38” which is still too big for my horse and they published that it is 34″ at smallest measure.

I need smaller Cob size because I couldnt adjust to the Smallest Posted sizes! a great inconvenience for me. Hope this helps someone. I gave 4 stars because the quality of the leather is nice and it is good looking.

I just wish the sizing had not been misleading.

Seems a lovely rug, but only put it on pony today. fits 14hh sect D perfectly but as stated on bucas site it wouldn’t be suitable for a chunkier pony as no shoulder darts. really light and he felt lovely and warm, lovely high neck not gapping as some do.

I have a Quarter Horse mare who has always had dry, brittle, cracked feet. Her sister has the same issue. To make matters worse, her hooves were not taken care of for at least a year before coming under my supervision, and even with consistent farrier work for another year they’ve remained unpleasant to look at.

I bought these hoof pellets half out of curiosity and half out of desperation. She was fed one scoop with her daily ration of grain for about a month, and now, after two or three weeks of being off grain and pellets due to medical issues, I realize she has a visible line, about a cm thick, growing at the top of all four feet.

The lines are *gorgeous*. Rock solid, smooth, and shiny! I look forward to getting her back on these pellets ASAP. Extremely impressed with them and how quickly I saw results! SmartPak’s website won’t let me add the photos I took of them today, which is very disappointing because I was *stoked*, but if you have a horse with poor feet and you’re looking for something that won’t swallow your wallet, this is it.

I started my TB gelding on this supplement at the beginning of summer. It rains often in summer here in Central Florida, and horses often have a hard time keeping shoes on. It took about two months to notice the benefits – less hoof cracking and so far this summer I have had to call the farrier out to reattach a shoe just once.

Previously, I would have to call the farrier out every few weeks, during the wet summer months. The sole of his feet also look more solid. I have combined this supplement with a regime of regularly painting his soles with turpentine and Farrier’s Finish.

All seem to work well together.

My ASB Gelding had gone through some rough times as he was starved previously. Along with getting the diet right we also tried a few hoof supplements as his feet were in terrible shape. They were poor, brittle and he kept having abscesses.

After trying another product for 6 month with no improvement to new growth, I researched again and decided to give this supplement a try. My Farrier has seen continues new healthy growth coming in, we are just waiting for the poor hoof to grow out.

couple more trimmings then we are on healthy hoofs! I am keeping him on this supplement, it’s economical at 1 scoop per feeding. Well worth it. Thank you! Palatability: 5.

There is no photograph or illustration provided of the working insides of the waterer. When I opened the waterer I realized a very basic pumping mechanism, akin to a toilet pump, was inside the waterer.

Try as I could, I could not adjust this pump to stop at any point and the waterer overflowed repeatedly. In addition, I did not realize that the only 2 options were to bolt the unit to a foundation or put 300 lbs of sand (!) into the base of the waterer.

The instructions were woefully deficient with respect to directions to adjust the pump. I returned the waterer for a refund.

The EZFOUNT Waterer looks exactly like the picture. It was easy to install and my horses took to it right away. I am so happy I do not have to continually dump my tubs of water to clean every other day.

This waterer is easy to clean and you do not waste as much water when you have to pull the plug and let the water out. I have also ordered the measuring instrument that measures the amount of water the horses are drinking which has not arrived yet.

I am curious to see how much water my horses drink every day.
