20 Best Grapefruit Soda For Paloma (2023 Updated)

This is what San Pellegrino (SP) has been making in recent years but has become virtually impossible to find in grocery stores. SP is now trying to substitute something with the same name in taller, skinnier cans that they advertise as being the same thing.

It is not the same thing. The new skinny cans contain something that does not have the same quality of taste and simply will not work with Vodka. THIS (shorter, fatter cans) is great, Shame on SP for trying to substitute an inferior (IMO) product while pretending it is the same.

Hurray for this vendor for staying with the old, far better, product.

I am very disppointed with this order. Sanpellegrino makes much in their advertsing of the foil covering that keeps the cans clean, and that was a big part of my choosing this product for an upcoming extended road trip with two of my grandchildren— my thought was that the covered cans would travel well, and stay sanitary to serve on the go.

The case I got does *not* have the foil covering. To be clear, they have no secondary cover over the cans at all— none— just plain cans, like any soft drink on any grocery store shelf. The four six packs are in paper board boxes, much like other cabonated beverage cartons.

I have other flavors set aside while I tried this product, I’m glad I didn’t order them all at once. For such a premium price, even when purchased by the case, it seems the product should be as advertised.

As to flavor, I find them on the too tart side, slightly sweeter than the unsweetened fruit flavored water products I’ve tried, but not by much. (I actually doubled checked to see if I had messed up and ordered their zero calorie unsweetened version, but no, it is the product in the listing, as per the information on the can, which states the alleged sugar content.

) I love lemon in most any context, but this beverage is rather too intenesly lemony tart for my tastes. The flavor and tartness would be okay, mabye, as like most I’m trying to reduce sugar, and would probably adjust to that, I was certainly willing to try, but not sure this is the product for that purpose.

Being from the south, I love my moderately sweetened sweet tea, and didn’t expect it to be that sweet, of course— and trust me, it is not. Though my intent was have them for the extended road trip, since this was a trial purchase of this product I opened one six pack.

Got grudingly through two cans, then started mixing them roughly half and half with sweet tea, which makes a pleasantly refreshing drink, and reduces the sugar by some measure. I can see this product/flavor as perhaps a mixer for cocktails, but haven’t tried that yet, some experimentation may be in order as I have a whole case of them to find a use for.

They’re not bad enough to toss, especially given the premium price, but don’t think I’d order them again unless I find some other more palletable avenue in which to use them. And I think I’ll cancel the order on the other two cases I on hold to order had this one panned out.

This is not a bad product, considering that the ingredient list is in line with what I am looking for, but not wild about the stand alone taste, and am annoyed that they did not come with the much lauded foil seal.

If you like a very tart lemon product, for home use where the lack of a protective seal is less of an issue, this might be a great product for you, just know what you’re buying— I wish I had more accurate information when I purchased these.

San Pellegrino is my favourite pop / soft drink or at least very near 1st place / number 1! I am not into the mainstream soda / pop, such as Coke, Pepsi, etc. I usually drink good ol’ tap water, sometimes fruit juice, but whenever possible, which is about once a year or so, I order the various kinds of canned San Pellegrino fruit beverages (not the flavoured mineral waters, Essenza or whatever).

Most of my refrigerator is filled with it and it lasts me a long time! I prefer my drinks watered down, so I tend to dilute these, as well. It is hard to pick a favourite flavour, as they are each unique.

I especially like the blood orange, grapefruit, and lemon.

This review is for the GInger Beer flavor. It tastes so natural! This product is just as described. I believe a lot of care went into it. Upon opening it there is the strong fragrance of natural ginger with fruity undertones.

The Cayenne definitely enhances the ginger kick. When they say spicy, they mean it! It is lightly sweet as promised, and I appreciated that they used agave nectar to sweeten. I would even recommend this for stomach discomfort or nausea in place of ginger ale.

It’s naturally sourced and most likely more beneficial.

The Q Mixer Grapefruit can flavor is very tart it is also very refreshing and tasty, but too small of a can I wish it was a bigger can. I mixed it with gin and it taste good. I than tried it by itself and it was tart so fresh with lime in it.

I like that it was made with real grapefruit and has a lot of carbonation. Very good quality but too little for a glass by itself. I would buy more of this flavor and would recommend them to others. I also love the color it comes pouring out.

I love this grapefruit can! It’s got just the right tartness with a little sweetness. It’s crisp and refreshing. I preferred it served over ice, but as long as it’s refrigerated it, it will taste great.

This is one of those drinks that has to be chilled to get the full experience. You can taste the grapefruit really well, such I love. Will definitely be drinking more of this!.

This is my favorite mixer of all time. This brand is excellent quality. Very refreshing taste without being overwhelming. The grapefruit is subtle. I just wish they weren’t so pricey.

This. Stuff. Is. The. BOMB. I’ve been looking for a grapefruit soda that tastes tart and actually grape-fruity, and this is it!! I bought it to mix with tequila for a sparkling Paloma, which came out amazing, but this stuff is good enough to drink alone.

Bought this the other day and So Glad I did! Does anyone remember those citrus gummies that were orange, lemon pink grapefruit? Well that pink grapefruit gummy taste is what I recalled when I took my first sip of this Crush soda.

My only question is. Why didn’t I find this sooner??? Will definitely purchase again.

My summer staple soda. I just tried this yesterday and already obsessed. Not overly sweet and had an awesome grapefruit flavor. Very refreshing for this crazy heat in AZ.

Pineapple crush is near and dear to me because it originates from the province where I live. Pineapple crush is refreshing and a nice change from regular cola. A tall glass with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and you’ve got a quick and yummy dessert.

Also pairs well with alcohol for some adult bevies.

We bought a 1. 5L bottle of this flavor (Mandarin) from the local Supercenter and it was so bad that we both took 1 sip each before pouring the entirety of it down the drain. It had a fresh date and was well-carbonated, so it wasn’t old.

It tastes NOTHING AT ALL like orange or even fruit. The nearest flavor I could think of was how regular Cascade or possible Great Value brand dishwashing detergent powder smells. That’s what it tasted like.

In all honesty, one of the absolute worst things I’ve ever tried to drink.

My Thoughtful Assessment: FAKE MANDARIN FLAVORED TICK SPRAY. AND I’M BEING GENEROUS!!! Unless you’ve had the misfortune of having been reared on this garbage, you will be as thoroughly disappointed as I am.

This so called Mandarin soda does not possess any discernable flavor of orange, tangerine or any other citrus fruit for that matter, thus making cheap sodas like Fanta and Crush taste upscale. Take my advice, don’t waste your money, buy another brand.

This soda has a clean fruit flavor without being overly sweet or syrup. I personally enjoy drier sodas as an occasional treat to myself and this one was an impulse purchase when buying the dry ginger ale for a secondary flavor to have on occasion and I couldn’t be happier with my choice it has a distinctive blackberry flavor why keeping away from the normal over sugared taste over most sodas.

This grapefruit soda is fabulous. It is light, refreshing, caffeine free, and sweet without that syrupy thing. I love it. Having tried it out of town, and unable to get it locally I am using the internet.

Gus Soda has beome my soda of choice as it is less sweet than traditional soda. Not being able to find it locally any longer – I have been fortunate to order from Taldepot.

I bought the Mountain and Doctor varieties of the Zevia franchise, only to discover that, when I peeled back the label, they were just Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew cans. However, when I contrasted the flavor between the Zevias and regular Mountain Dew and Dr.

Pepper, I discovered they tasted much more. different. I had to find out the answer to this mystery. I ran to the grocery store and bought everything I could. For days, I mixed and matched different ingredients together, but I could never come close to the true taste of the Zevias that I had become fixated on.

Slowly, I began to realize that these drinks are something special. These drinks aren’t made from your run-of-the-mill grocery store ingredients, but something much more dark. I went to the Zevia headquarters in Los Angeles, the city of angels.

There was a strange aura around the building, and the shadow loomed over me, almost like the hand of curiosity, in all its dark nature, beckoned me forth. I entered the building. Obviously, the lobby was nice, and clean.

They had to keep a reputation, even through their shady dealings. But I still wanted to look around. I bolted past the front desk and ran downstairs. “Security!” called the receptionist. I knew they must be close behind, so I ran even faster.

The stairs seemed to go on forever, truly leading me into the belly of the beast. When I made it to the bottom, bullets were raining down on me. I dove into another room, and slammed the door behind me.

I stood up, and dusted myself off. When I looked up, though, my entire outlook changed. Live pigs, legs tied together with barbed wire, squealed as they were carried on a conveyer belt into a furnace.

I hid behind some boxes, and observed. A strange mist came out of these animals, and the mist was immediately canned by some of the thousand workers in this mile-long room. They all wore white hazmat suits.

I ran out as fast as I could, and escaped capture. I think I found out what the mist was. I am a big fan! Five stars from me and my children! The swines deserved it anyways!!!.

In my quest for a healthier alternative to aspartame in most diet sodas I tried Zevia’s and Virgil’s zero root beer. Virgil’s is the best but very limited or discontinued stock means I might be drinking my last.

Zevia does the trick in a pinch but is very sweet, like people have said. I can only really handle the kid sodas and the cherry cola. HOWEVER, I had a huge bottle of orange extract for some reason so I tried some in this cream soda and it is the best thing, very refreshing, somehow cuts the sweetness and tastes just like an orange creamsicle soda.

The grape and black cherry Zevia had just the artificial medicine flavor taste so I could not enjoy those. The lemon lime is ok and I’d be willing to try the orange, maybe adding vanilla extract in that.

The root beer is also ok, it has an almost berry like weird flavor I cannot identify but its fine, not like my favorite root beers at all which have a lovely wintergreen taste.

My partner has Lyme and also has auto inflammatory issues. He needs a non-sugar/non artificially sweetened drink that actually tastes good. With Lyme, quinine is also recommended. So this drink is a godsend for a man who has had to cut everything else out of his beverage list except water and clear tea! His only complaint is that it is much sweeter tasting that ordinary tonic water – too sweet.

He manages it by cutting it with sparkling mineral water, but my personal opinion is that Zevia would sell more cans if there was less stevia. Or perhaps a “bitter” option. Meanwhile, we’ll be buying more of this great tonic water and adding bitters and tonic water and lemon and lime and enjoying it very much!.

I purchased a CASE of the San Peligrino Pompelmo, When I got to the store, they only had a six pack registered under the purchase ticket. SO after a bit of research, the store only had the six pack. The gentlemen that helped was very nice and refunded the money, and I asked if I could get the 6 pack price adjusted to 1/4 of the case price, as that is why I purchased a case (for the discount on larger quantities).

I wish stock would’ve been verified and shown correctly before I purchased, as I had to drive out of the way a bit to get this product.

These are absolutely delicious! They aren’t over powered with carbonation or heavy syrups. They feel very light refreshing. Plus unlike sparkling waters where the flavors are more muted these flavors are nice strong but not overpowering.

This is a delicious beverage. I really enjoy the tartness of the drink and appreciate the foil over the can opening. This saves me from having to wash the can before drinking from it. It’s also an excellent product to have I had at the office to offer guests.

My coworker suggested these to me because I have been looking for different drinks to try. I can’t say I was disappointed in the flavor at all, It’s honestly like a carbonated lemonade. It’s very tart which is all I really tasted at first but the sweetness hits you a little afterwards.

It is roughly $6 for a 6 pack at Target or Kroger.

My absolute all time favorite summer sparkling flavored water. I’m not a plain water drinker, there always has to be some sweetness for me. This is a perfect lemon drink. It is my go to while weekly shopping.

Is it expensive for what it is? Yeah, a little. But this stuff is delicious and super refreshing. The lemon flavor is light, which isn’t usually something I’m a fan of but it works really well in this drink.

Makes me want to take a long walk and come home to sip on one of these.

Great flavor! I mix this with a splash of peach juice or another flavor juice and it is a great substitute for an alcoholic mixed drink. Wish there were other flavors!

I purchased the Grapefruit, Lemon Lime & Meyer Lemon Club Soda variety 12-pack. The drinks were refreshing and bubbly with natural flavors, and wasn’t so sugary. My favorite is Lemon Lime. It tastes great with or without alcohol.

However, it paired perfectly with tequila for a refreshing Margarita! The order came with drink recipes; definitely a plus, and the glass bottles are perfect! My overall experience was great from the drinks to the ordering process, more importantly, customer service is top notch! I will be ordering again!.

I went alcohol free January 2020-yes-right before the pandemic! I also try to consume as little sugar as possible-so the grapefruit flavor is out for me-but the lemon lime and lemon? What a treat!! The adorable bottle, the sea salt-the amazing taste all alone without alcohol!! I relax the moment I open one-and then to know that it is healthy(lemon has the lowest amount of sugar) lemon lime only 5-which is a splurge for me! Found it on vacation in Maine-at a small village store.

I purchased a carton of each flavor and they were just okay. The carbonation was flat right after I opened them and poured; the club sodas were tasteless and the ginger beer and grapefruit (which are my usual go to mixer and soda flavors) did not have that sweet tangy taste (grapefruit) or that spicy after bite (ginger beer) – it was more like a bit more flavoring went into the carbonated water.

I looked at the ingredients on the grapefruit and mixed my own soda – grapefruit juice, carbonated water (I used Topo Chico) and agave syrup – it was perfect. Will save myself 30. 00 and make my own ….

I have LOVED Fresca since I was a child in the 70’s! It disappeared from the shelves for several years and when I seen the 2 litres available, I stockpiled as often as possible. Now, the 16 ounce bottles are back and I am having a hard time getting them.

I LOVE this product and so happy to get it in bottles. Prefer them to cans. This soda is hands down the best soda I have ever had. I have been drinking it for years when I can find it. I do not see it in many places and only rarely I bottles other than 2 litres.

Yikes – I should have read the ingredients before buying. This has a very sweet flavor due to aspartame. I prefer completely-unsweetened sparkling grapefruit-flavored water such as Spindrift grapefruit and will return to buying that 100% of the time.

Definitely love this drink. Anytime I see it I instantly buy it. Has good value and great price. definitely recommend anyone to try. Nothing to improve. I’m a repeat consumer.

Love it! I’m not a real soda drinker but ting is always refreshing. It’s sweet and has the bite you look for in soda without being overbearing. Definitely one of my favorites if I’m in the mood for some fizz.

The can I have is a different shape ,taller and more narrow. I can’t comment on the price because I received this as a gift and don’t know how much it cost unfortunately. What I can say though is it tastes good.

It almost sort of has an alcoholic taste to it. The initial first bite is a bit strong but it quickly dies down and tastes like blood orange. The flavor is intense and spot on though artificial and almost candy flavored.

Almost feels like an orange soda At about half of your daily sugar I can’t really recommend drinking these frequently but I’d have one once in a while.

SanPellegrino is my Go-To brand for exceptional soft drinks. I drank CocaCola and Pepsi for decades, and then one day I read the Coke and Pepsi ingredient labels. Both contained high levels of phosphate, which cause kidney injury.

I examined other soft drink label ingredients as well. Most contained phosphate to a high degree. SanPellegrino did not list phosphate on any of their flavored drinks. I am a professional biophysicist and understand the physiological damage that phosphate (in its ionized state) can do to mammalian kidney structure and function.

I give SP five stars, and more if I could. I wish I had discovered it years ago. It is more expensive than Coke, Pepsi, and the others, but why not buy the best. JA, PhD.

I’m a big fan of grapefruit so naturally, years ago, I decided to try Fresca! The pop is the same price as others, and it’s so refreshing! I’m not a big fan of artificial sweetners but sine becoming keto I can appreciate the value of having options available that are lower is sugar or made with sugar alternatives.

The grapefruit flavour does a great job hiding any artificial sugar aftertaste and the Fresca is pretty carbonated. If you’re looking for a refreshing drink, grab a Fresca. It’ll hit the spot!.

Fresca beats Squirt hands down, there’s no competition. Squirt must have changed its formula because it is flat without a crisp bubbly experience. Fresca is superior. Fresca has lots of carbonation and the perfect citrus flavor.

Nothing beats Fresca. If you’re feeling hot from the heat grab an ice-cold Fresca! Chug it down, it’s delicious.

I’m a person who only has soda on occasion. I can go weeks/months without it but sometimes I really crave the carbonation because it’s different and refreshing. I can’t believe I’ve gone my whole life without trying Fresca! It’s pretty dang good.

I prefer 7UP Zero, Sprite Zero, and Coke Zero but this is a close second to those. I hate that it has aspartame but I think if you’re drinking it in moderation, it’s totally ok.

I can drink squirt morning, noon and night! Just like how some people enjoy MT. dew in Michigan. I enjoy my squirt. It will help your thirst. Great value and will always keep purchasing it to drunk.

I’ve always loved this soda. I’m a big fan of grapefruit anyway, and this is so yummy and refreshing. A great alternative to lemonade. I love that it’s caffeine free. The diet version is also very tasty!.

My husband enjoys the occasional soda, but there’s been a strange shortage of his favorites lately. On a whim, I bought some Squirt instead, and he loves it! It’s sweet, but it has a light flavor profile so he can pretty much drink it anytime and with any meal.

It’s very caloric and too sweet for my taste, but I’m glad to have another option for when he has an itch for soda.

I bought this for the family to try as I’m a fan of Fever-Tree Indian Tonic in a G&T. We all – adults, teens, children – loved this Mexican Lime Soda as a refreshing soft drink treat, and I’m pleased to say it has no artificial sweeteners.

I have just ordered again alongside the two other flavours to try, so it must be good. A great option too for any drivers and non-drinkers.

Thought would give this a try for a change. Used in Pimms as an alternative to lemonade, was not disappointed, the flavour added little something different without being overpowering

Heavily carbonated compared with other brands. Horrible taste, bit like that cheap white lemonade & certainly couldn’t taste any orange at all.
