I have the original Evil dead movie it’s a good movie just that some of the visual effects are clay mation. This one is a whole lot better. This one has a good under story to it. The first one was ok this one is more entertaining if you haven’t seen this version watch it.

I love the original, don’t get me wrong. Nothing was bad about it but it was great to see it remade with proper special effects. They focused more on the effects and less on the plot/storyline but just watch the original if you want more of the story.

The original is more for the humorous side of horror while the remake tried to make it for more of a horror flick with the effects.

This movie is definately not for the faint of heart. I consider this to be like a Saw style movie but with less of an underlying story to it. It has very gory scenes and a very dark plot line that leaves the viewer stunned at the end.

Has some very memorable parts in it that will stick with you for a long time after. If gore is not your thing this is certainly not a movie for you!.

Another day, another remake Hollywood decided to make and dump on the fans of the original. Granted some remakes are decent in their own right (The Hills Have Eyes), most outright stink (Too many to list) and there are those very few that manage to match or even exceed the original (The Thing).

Sadly, but predictably, this film is one of the unneeded but still fairly decent and diverting for 90 minutes. Sam Raimi’s original, while not my favorite nor is it “scary”, is a classic horror film with Raimi’s unique style and humor with some very gruesome scenes such as a scene where one of the characters gets.

let’s say gets real acquainted with a tree. The best part of the film is the hero, Ash played by horror icon Bruce Campbell. The remake pretty much fails to offer anything as good as the original. I do like the nice visuals, the largely practical blood and special effects, and some of the kills are fairly inventive as well.

Sadly, the script pretty much steals most of the original story beats (Old cabin holding the Necrominicon, some of kills of the first, etc. ) and the characters are very, very STUPID. Stick with the original and only watch out of slight curiosity and probably purchase if its like $5 or less.

The PQ is filmed on modern digital cameras and is too smooth for my taste (The original’s 16mm photography is terrific and pitch perfect in my books) but does look quite nice with awesome detail of the all the gore, landscapes, actors and sets.

The audio is also fantastic with nice bass, great directionality in scenes and natural sounding dialogue. The extras, while not as plentiful as the much re-released films of the previous films, does have some nice extras for fans.

The commentary is the best extra with the cast, director and co-writer offering up nice info about how the script came to be, background about the film, behind the scenes info and more, while nothing earth-shattering is a good listen.

5 featurettes, and previews for other Sony films and a UV copy complete the nice extras package, though a feature-length documentary could have been awesome (If you have the BBY exclusive, which sadly, I do not, offers a bonus disc with an interview with Ash himself and a featurette about the special effects).

All in all, a nice package for a decent movie, but only buy if its part of the Savestation sale or around $10 or less.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this movie. It is a remake so clearly if you have seen the original it will be may be difficult to enjoy this film. If you are at all accepting of remakes I think that you will enjoy this.

This movie takes the 80’s version and does try to update it. This movie has non of the suspense of the original but it definitely has a really fun amount of gore. I am hesitating to use the word creative here but there is definitely a but more to the bloodiness of this than the original.

There are many cringe-inducing moments that come along with the buckets of blood. The characters start out a bit wooden but some of them do shine a bit more than you would expect. One thing I have to say about this movie is that I really feel that it did a good job of keeping me guessing as to who would be the new Ash.

We know there will be a survivor in the end, and without having watched any of the trailers I really felt the suspense as to who would be crowned the King Baby. It is extremely difficult to separate Ash from the Evil Dead Series, but I do think that this movie is as successful as you are going to get.

They didn’t try to just have a new zany character that acts just like him, attempting to do such a thing would have felt as natural as Ted McKinleys presence in the final seasons of Happy Days. I would also love to argue that people mainly love the evil dead series due to the comedy aspects of parts 2 and 3 but I am very affraid of the backlack I might receive.

This movie attempts to do what the original did in its own way and I think it was successful. Help other customers find the most helpf.

This remake of EVIL DEAD is a decent flick in it’s own right. It uses a good amount of elements from the original EVIL DEAD but also adds a lot of it’s own. Parts of the story come straight from the original (the cabin in the woods, the book of the dead, etc) , but other parts, such as everyone going to the cabin to help one girl kick her drug addiction, are new and welcome.

The pacing starts off a little slow, but when the flick finally kicks in, about half way through, the result is a frenzied mix of blood and mayhem sure to satisfy the gorehound in you. Although not as creepy as the original, this remake does manage to contain a few scenes of it’s own creepiness along with a great bunch of make-up and gore effects.

The final 20 minutes of the movie are drenched in much welcomed blood and give the flick a great visual climax. Extras include featurettes on the making of this movie with interviews from the director as well as cast and crew.

Overall I would recommend this Blu Ray to anyone looking for a bloody good time.

Sam Raimi (the director of Spider-Man) and many of his college friends made this movie on a low budget of $375,000. This movie to me is considered a masterpiece in horror. Is it better than Halloween? No, but it is a close second.

This was really one of the 1st movies I think that took a stab at gore but the gore is not even close to as much as there is in the newer terrible horror movies. This movie might’ve been made on a low budget but most of the money had been spent on the props and set, which you will be able to see easily on your first view.

I’m a person that doesn’t get scared easily. Only 2 movies have scared me terribly in my life. Halloween and The Evil Dead. Also I know great horror movies so take my advice and get this movie, especially if you like older horror movies (when they were actually good) with eerie directing and great atmosphere.

This is a hard movie to find in stores for this price so if your looking to buy it, this is probably the place.

Good movie overall. I like the characters and the way it filmed. Great camera angles. Sound effects also were good. The special effects are not great but for the time period they are acceptable.

Great series! If you liked any of the “Evil Dead” trilogy, this is more of the same! Slightly weak series ending however, should not mar people from enjoying this campy gore-fest starring everyone’s fave “B” star, Bruce Campbell.

For fans of the Evil Dead franchise who always wanted a fourth film, what we got was even better – three season and thirty episodes of the continuing misadventures of Ash fighting Deadites. A great supporting cast adds to the fun, and the mayhem.

Thanks to Starz for giving us three seasons – alas, there will not be a fourth – and for not watering anything down. Ash vs. Evil Dead was a full-on, blood and gore-soaked, hard R-rated horror series.

This Blu-ray caps off a great run and has some cool extras. A must have for any horror fan.

Ashy Slashy and the Ghost Beaters return for a final go around with the ultimate Deadite! Its unfortunate that this awesome show got the axe so early in its run. The show runners did at least attempt to wrap it up with a conclusion that will hopefully satisfy the fans.

The Blu-ray itself serves up great picture quality and comes with a digital copy. It is however lacking in the special features department. If you’re a fan of this show or of the Evil Dead franchise, you owe it to yourself to check this out immediately!.

Give it a viewing if you are simply looking for some entertainment and fun. Wonderful acting by the leads and they pull what otherwise could be a shaky script that works. We’ve seen it several times and it still works.

My wife liked it so much she asked for it for a gift.

Underrated & extremely funny slasher/ cabin in the woods sendup. Some of the set pieces are unforgettably laugh out loud funny! Very clever script with all the actors delivering their lines flawlessly.

Two classic movies in a single Blu-Ray set. I am always a sucker for multi-feature packages. I feel like I am really getting my money’s worth that way. It also helps when you have limited storage. These movies speak for themself, so I won’t review the films themselves.

The Blu-Ray quality is great and a marketed improvement from their DVD releases. This is definitely worth upgrading to if you still have these on DVD. Also for the price, you can’t go wrong.

Wasn’t happy at all with the bluray transfer. Still had a lot of grain and its sound quality was very low and poor. Fortunately, the standard dvd player I have plays louder and I have a standard copy on the way.

Fault rests with Anchor Bay. Won’t be buying blu ray disks or players since the Standard Sony plays much much louder. All future movies will be bought in standard dvd format. Yes i like my Sony blu ray but it doesn’t have blu tooth capabilities so i have to use an aux chord connected to my G boom speaker which compensates for the low blu ray sound.

Very disappointed.

What more can be said about the amazing cult classic films from the Evil Dead franchise. Groovy. is the best word that comes to mind when describing these masterpieces by Sam Raimi. Not only are these masterpieces, but it brought to us the one and only Bruce Campbell.

I cannot recommend these films enough. These are a must watch for any horror fan out there. After viewing theses, you must view Army of Darkness.

This Blu-Ray edition simply offers the movie in better clarity than DVD. That is the only advantage of this over the DVD Special Edition release, which was loaded with behind-the-scenes bits. I know a lot of people don’t bother with home video disc extra features, and I usually only watch those once, but this does not even have a menu or chapters.

Most Mill Creek Direct produced discs are cheaply produced, without proper menus and with poor packaging. Still, if this is priced really low and you want to watch the movie with better clarity, it serves that purpose.

Purchased this as a Christmas present for my husband who is a huge Evil Dead fan. I was really excited about getting it at such a great price. I have not put the disc in to be able to comment on the quality of picture though.

I’m a gamer and avid nerd. I purchased a 4k tv when they were still new on the market and super expensive. I’ve been an Evil Dead fan since my father came home from the rental store with Evil Dead on VHS.

I’ve seen this in virtually every format. I can’t tell the difference between the 4k and Bluray versions. For the price this one might seem like a cash grab unless you’ve never seen the movie before.

…clearly hasnt played the games. I wont spoil anything here, but they completey dropped the ball with this movie. I can think of more things they did wrong than I can think they got right. Trust me, do not buy this movie…if you think you have to because you love the series, wait for it to drop to $10 or lower.

I promise it wont take long! This movie bombed in the theaters and for a reason, it’s terrible. Don’t believe me? Look it up. The movie movie barely broke even. If you want a movie that will tickle your nostalgia, go preorder/buy Spider-Man: No Way Home.

They did an excellent job with the decor, the little details from the games (Herbs, typewriter, key references, etc. ) But they missed so much in this. Missing key characters from the game, they made Leon such a wimp! They change/rushed the story and left out quite a bit.

This was a great idea but failed on execution. I am a huge RE fan and they did do better than the other series, but, they could have done better. They failed and I don’t know what games others played but this was pathetic.

The only great thing about this was the details (Jill sandwich, burger, mansion scenery, etc. ). Should have kept James Wann as director.

Not the greatest movie, but i had to check it out. It is certainly darker than the other version. It resembles the game more with its atmosphere, dialogue and acting. The disc worked well and thebdigital copy was easily redeemed.

Overall, the product worked with 5 stars, but the movie was ‘meehhh. with 3 stars.

Some of these movies, I hadn’t watching in years (decades, really). But movie marathons are a great way to spend an otherwise boring weekend stuck in the house during quarantine. Lots of spooky fun!

This is a movie you must have in your collection. Great visuals and audio. Love it

Bought this for my teenage daughter, who is really starting to get into horror movies. She loves it! She actually wanted this for Christmas this year.

The show follows Evil Dead 1 and 2. Evil Dead 2 is referenced the most. Army Of Darkness is never referenced due to rights issues. It could be said that the events still happened, but Ash never bothers mentioning his traveling through time because nobody ever believed him.

This is confirmed when he nonchalantly mentions getting sucked into a rift that sent him back to medieval times. Much to the bewilderment of the other characters.

For those who are fans this 3 season run was the best gift we have been given in years. Season 3 puts a nice cherry on top. Saying that the 3rd season does have a different flavor to it. Not as much humor as the first 2 but the horror has been cranked up a bit – well quite a bit to be honest.

The story line is more predictable and the addition of new characters was a failure. This only lost it one star so still go and buy. One day long into the future you will be glad you did.

This series is not for the faint of heart or kids. Lots of innovative slice and dice of the possessed. I enjoyed all three seasons and this is no exception. Many people may think it goes over the edge when some of these death scenes occur and the blood splatters everywhere.

There is also the comedy aspect of this series, which is definitely black humor, but comedy relief from bloody fights.

Ok, not going to knock this for not in including Army of Darkness. I think the effort was not made to negotiate for it like other companies have done for other franchises (Scream Factory pulked it off for Halloween and Friday the 13th) which is disappointing but I wasn’t there.

Also, where is the remake? This effort seems a little hollow since it is really close to being an ultimate collection vut not. so they kind of settled for a rehash boxed set that is fat on packaging and low on new value and completeness.

All that aside, its a beautiful boxed set, you either like the art or you don’t- I do. Others have shared they felt like it should have used more of the actual movie shots instead. I think that would work too but I actually bought this for the art.

I already had all these disks. (I will be selling them now) Lastly, I like the book format but don’t like putting disks into the cardboard book slots so not really happy about that part. In short, there us some style over substance and missing AoD and the remake is not great byt its still a good looking boxed set abd happy I added it to my collection.

I went in knowing all of these things. Hopefully sharing here will hekp you maje a reasoned decision as well.

This is one of my favorite Horror/Comedy film series and the TV series is included. All 3 seasons. It would’ve been better if Army of Darkness was included on 4K since the first 2 movies are in this set.

Still, I recommend it to Horror fans and people who are interested in seeing some of Sam Raimi’s early work.

As a child of the 60’s and 70’s, I appreciated this being called The Evil Dead GROOVY Collection…lol. Aside from not including Army of Darkness, the 4K Evil Dead movies and Blu-Ray Series look and sound great.

As a Collector, I wasn’t going to open this but gave in. Still looks great in my Collection.

I started watching this show on tv but was unable to see the whole season,so was glad to get this at such a good price. It is sort of an “X Files” show on the Supernatural and very creepy! Can’t wait for Season 2! -The characters include an attorney who is an atheist and does not beieve in events that have no logical explanation, a priest-in-training and, a plumber with unusua skills!.

Absolutely one of the smartest shows on television. You can’t miss the episode compulsively singing school girls. The characters are layered and subtle. The four daughters, who could have been obnoxious, are incredibly charming.

This is one of my favourite TV shows, one of the best in recent years. Couldn’t believe the price of this item! I only wish CBS had put this on Blu-ray

This is the second 3D “Resident Evil” film produced and the fifth film in the saga. It is another excellent 3D film that has a number of good “in-your- face” 3D effects, e. g. , guns pointed and fired at the viewer, blood flung directly at the camera, blades and other items pushed right out of the screen.

Depth is also enhanced in this super non-stop action film. Alice does some amazing flips and over-the-top battle and fight scenes. Also, some characters that I thought were dead and gone reappear- much like the walking dead (zombies) in the “Resident Evil” films.

Some characters also change sides and become good or bad at different times. This Blu-ray film is very clear, with good color, and proper use of 3D without the common blurring found in other 3D films.

It is sad that many directors of both 3D and 2D films don’t know how to use rack-focus shots properly to avoid the super blurring between foreground and background people and objects that I have seen in a number of films.

The 3D is properly handled here and this film is a great addition to any 3D library. I recommend this film to any fan of 3D and the “Resident Evil” series.

We did not have cable in our 15 year old daughter’s room, so she really was only able to watch movies on her tv. We decided it would be good for her to be able to see other things and to stream music and music videos when she has friends over.

I had no idea what Roku is, but when browsing in store then online saw tv’s with it built in. I read a little about it and decided it was worth a try, though for me personally it would overwhelm me. She got it set up within minutes of it getting in the door and LOVES it.

Very good affordable solution for a teen’s room. It is a 32″ Sharp tv with Roku.

This 2013 remake of Evil Dead is a really classic horror movie. If you like to watch a horror flick this needs to be on your list. As good as it is there might be a couple of scenes I might change a little but it’s a classic in horror films.

I’d like to see even one more remake with today’s special effects it could Probably be a little better. This one is good though. I recommend it.

One of my favorite crazy zombie movies series. I love how the second one gets so outrageous and hilarious and the Army of Darkness movie is also fantastic. Been a fan since I was 14!

This movie was very one surprising. But the suspense was very intense and the possession was out of this world. The best part was when she killed the demon, it was joyful that she finally survived. I won’t watch again because I have watched more than two time already.

First off the first movie is the only one that plays and that one sucks to look at it is so fussy. For the second and third you need a region 2 player I can’t get them to work I’m buying the on amazon instead separately I am vary disappointed these are my favorite movies ever.

Great trilogy, scattered with comedic absurdity which grows more frequent with each installment, almost entirely replacing all horror in the third film.

Good for a laugh lots of blood and gore

After hearing them mention a possible unedited version on commentary track when the blu ray first came out, I waited to buy it until now. Looks fantastic, sounds great. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen it and it’s already so gory as it is, I don’t think they added much.

But there are a few more seconds and shots here and there that are longer and make it even more gruesome. Overall it’s a few minutes longer and you get the original blu ray too.

I’ll admit, I love all things Evil Dead. I know a lot of fans don’t like the remake at all, but I love it. It takes a more “realistic” approach to the whole story of the first movie. Out is the camp, most of the dark humor and of course Bruce Campbell’s character, Ash (although there is something after the credits, it kinda seems forced, but hey, fan service am I right?) In is unrelenting horror, tons of gore and well, probably a better paced movie than the original.

If it wasn’t called Evil Dead I bet more fans would like it. But if you haven’t seen it and are a fan of horror movies check it out.

I am a huge fan of the original movie and television series. I did not see the theatrical release of the 2013 film. I have only watched the unrated version. Without being able to differentiate between the theatrical and unrated versions, I can say that this film was delightfully gory, and has differences from Bruce Campbell’s franchise.

The original script wasn’t simply recycled for a new generation. Even though I do not typically advocate remakes, this is very good film, and would like to see a sequel in the future.

I loved the first 3 films. Well to be exact the first was all right but the second and third films were great. However, when the much anticipated forth film came out (mainly because I loved Prison Break, really liked the idea of Wentworth Miller playing the part of Chris Redfield and what he could bring to the part) but there was several flaws which all can be tied to the addition of 3D to the series.

Firstly the style changed to incorporate the depth of filed and so called enhanced 3 dimensional visuals, next the story became about showcasing these visuals. Not continuing what had became a deep and intriguing plot which just seems to have died off after the third instalment.

Next the characters changed from those that had been crafted throughout the other movies it became very farcical. I liked that this series stayed away from clichés that appear in most horror films but this last move went way past the worst cliché I have ever seen by having a zombie attack after it’s brain had left it’s skull! To sum up, first 3 are definitely worth the money, but the forth one, not so much.

I still like Resident Evil 1 (2nd best), Resident Evil 2 (best), Resident Evil 3 (3rd best), and Code Veronica (4th best) much better than all 6 of these ultra-bloody, super-sick, modern Resident Evil movies.

I’m attracted to the good music and the exciting self-destruct scenes in these original Resident Evil creations.

I am a big fan of box sets coming in the flash boxes but it is also nice to have them presented in a regular sized slim case as box sets can take up a lot of room. This Resident Evil 1-4 Box Set comes with the four discs in the one case and is marginally bigger than a standard Blu-ray case.

Film presentation is superb as is to be expected from such a high ranking blockbuster. Image quality is clean and the sound is excellent. It’s no Star Wars but it is brilliant nonetheless. Anyone interested in Resident Evil will know how good the films are, but to have them together in a neat set is a bonus.

Buy it now whilst the price is evil too.

I bought this dvd for my son for Christmas along with 1 & 2, Scary movie 3 is a must have for the collection. This series definitely keeps you laughing. Could not beat Walmart’s low prices either.

*eye roll* if I could leave this review at that, I would. All of these movies along this line disappoint me. I am a sucker for a good comedy, but this one just seemed like the producers were running out of ideas.

Out of all the Scary Movies, I think this one is my favorite. So many funny gags! I think Leslie Nielsen made the movie! He is always hilarious.

I first saw this almost 50 years ago. It was funny to me back then. Not so much today. Evil Roy and the other characters are just so evil or so goody-good that you can’t relate to any of them. The characters are engaging if what you want is slapstick humor.

If that’s not what you’re looking for, look somewhere else.

I remember making a point of watching this movie whenever it appeared on TV when I was a kid. I found it here for a great price. Fond memories, hugely entertaining.

Before Blazing Saddles there was another classic spoof Western- Evil Roy Slade. An amusingly silly and often uproariously funny film, Evil Roy Slade tells the tale of its namesake, the most ruthless outlaw in the Old West (played by John Astin- Addams Family, Killer Tomatoes, the Frighteners, Night Court) from his days raising himself on the prairies and deserts to his glory days of stagecoach robberies, true love, and near execution at the hands of the law.

KILLER performances from Astin, Pamela Austin (as his love interest), Dick Shawn as Marshall Bing Bell (Who’s at the door?), Dom DeLuise, Mickey Rooney, Pat Morita, Henry Gibson and many, many, more make this movie fun to watch time and time again for the whole family.

One liners abound, and the absurdly funny writing and delivery makes this one of the most quotable movies in history. With a talented comedic cast in its prime (this was a TV release in 1971)it would have been difficult to mess this up, and it lives up to or surpasses everything it was meant to be.

This is a seriously funny film that is available for a song and will find a permanent place in your comedy rotation.

The first time I saw Resident Evil: Extinction I didn’t really like it. It had been a while since I’d seen the first two. After watching RE: Afterlife and enjoying it immensely, I gave RE: Apocalypse and RD: Extinction another shot.

(I’ve seen the first RE several times. ) I enjoyed both much more. The RE series is not horror in the conventional sense. There are horrific elements (zombies and other products of the T-Virus), but the focus is on action and F/X.

As long as you approach the RE movies with that mindset, you’ll likely enjoy them for what they are. RE: Extinction is no exception.

It’s daring in the sense that most of the horror takes place during daylight. The film introduction of some key characters in the Resident Evil universe is nice to see. Even though the zombies are supposed to me more evolved, they’re boring and all look relatively the same.

This wasn’t anything too worthy of the RE name, and some plot points just don’t seem to fit with the mythology. The image and sound quality are excellent, but the extras aren’t anything too great.

This movie brings in new characters one is clair Redfield. Alice is on the road fighting and surviveing as her new found power from the virus make her powerful and stronger. she meets up with clair and they fight to survive.

It has a lot of action,some mild language. I Highly recommend this movie.
