Best Golf Game For Oculus Quest 2 (2024 Updated)

THIS IS A FULL REVIEW Finding a review to explain exactly what the VR experience entails is a difficult one Many simply state it being hard to explain and just buy one to find out The problem with this is that it is a very expensive way of just jumping in blind to find out for yourself I made the plunge after years of doubt, and having unsuccessfully found anywhere to trial one Well, i wasnt disappointed Trying to describe the VR experience is in fact as hard as others have said, but i think the experience can be described in order to give a sense of what it offers Visuals – i can best describe my experience, using the Oculus Quest, as giving an immersive, 3D / holographic type of experience.

Back in the 80’s our school had a travelling science group who showed us holograms, looking through boxes or tubes, seeing the visual holograms of certain objects, animals etc. These images appeared 3 dimensional, and also appeared to be, in a sense, floating within this infinite 3 dimension space.

This is the experience that VR, in general, offers. Take Robo Recall for example, my first outing in to VR It immerses you in what feels (or the brain is tricked) like a real life city, albeit in an obvious computer game graphical visual.

However, where it shines is that interactions while fighting/shooting the robots, in that they appear correctly, at various distances, scaled correctly, shadow details, etc and the rendered ‘box’ of the robots is incredibly accurate.

‘Grabbing or shooting at the robot, gives a real sense that they are actually there, in front of you (or behind) and you find yourself reacting automatically to duck dodge or block them. VR is this ability to construct a 3 dimensional arena/world, and tricking the brain to immerse you as if it were real.

The only thing that holds you on to actual reality is the obvious computer rendered images you see (and the occasional hitting your knuckles on a nearby desk or wall Oculus Quest Unit Hardware This unit is my first jump in to VR, so i have nothing to compare it to, however, I’ve bought many an item over the years, and can clearly judge that this item is of top rated build quality The plastics are hard, feel sturdy, have differing surface finishes depending on if its where you would normally hold or touch.

The straps are adjustable, feel strong and hard wearing. The foam padding is comfy and soft, and does an excellent job of block out light. The lenses / screens have an adjustment facility for those with eye issues.

I have on eye with long distance issues, however i can wear my oculus with out my glasses and have no issues with seeing clearly. It is possible to buy lense inserts from the Oculus approved company by giving them your prescription I havent opened up the unit to look at the internals (nor will I), but this unit uses OLED screens with a high resolution, a high brightness, and the blackest of blacks.

The refresh rate doesnt cause any tearing or slowdowns when things get fast paced. The battery has a supposed life of around 2 hours, ive achieved slightly higher than this, but it will depend on the software, games etc that you are running.

The touch controllers are superb, and i was blown away with how accurate the xyz position and displaying of these were on the unit. Software This area was a surprise for me, id had a quick look and saw a few games ertc, but it wasnt until i installed the oculus app on my phone (this is required on initial first turn on of unit) and the oculus app on my pc (not required to play on oculus), that i saw the shear amount of additional software tools available.

The Quest can be run as a standalone unit, using just the Quest store for software. However, plug in a cable and attach it to your VR capable PC opens up a whole ‘rift’ of possibilities. This software, Oculus Link’ enables the quest to access the Rift store, hereby giving full access to the complete list of software available on the PC based Rift store, thus opening even more games and apps.

From there you can also instal SteamVR, and access the VR content on the Steam store. This whole process is a simple case of buying the correct USB-C to C cable (must be capable of delivering power and data, normally advertised as 10GB cables) and allowing the oculus pc software detect your headset, install the Oculus Link software (in Beta, but its works well), then on the Quest home screen, you simply click on the beta link button and it transfers you to the Rift home screen and store.

For steam it requires SteamVR (which is in your ‘tools’ folder not games) The oculus software enables you to map out your room, drawing around everything using the touch controllers, this gives you a safe area, and the system will bring up a grid on your eye screens when you get too close (this can be adjusted and changed very easily if you use the Quest in another room etc.

As the quest version is primarily wire free, portability function is great on this) run out of characters lol.

The Quest, on it’s own is amazing. The wireless nature automatically gives it an advantage over the Rift, especially for games that require wide ranges of motions. The reason I give it four-star however, is two reasons, one more excusable than the other, imo.

As of writing this, the Quest doesn’t have a significant library and isn’t quite seamlessly compatible with Rift games. Just to play Rift games, you need the cable and the beta-mode Cable Link. I attempted this with FNAF VR, which I’d purchased prior to figuing out which headset I was going to get.

It worked, sure, but wasn’t quite synced properly. The bigger issue, to me at least, is if you’re someone who wants to stream VR games. The only available platform right now is Facebook. There is no option to stream to Twitch or even upload to YouTube.

You *have* to use FB. There is a way around this, much like a way to download custom Beat Saber maps, via third party apps on your laptop. The Virtual Desktop, apparently, tries to force you to uninstall SteamVR (I haven’t tested this yet, but that was a major complaint I saw while researching Virtual Desktop).

A lesser issue I’ve run into is the joycons spontaneously becoming unresponsive for short periods of time, which is unfortunate but not a major issue for me. Overall, the Quest is delightful and I’ve definitely put enough hours in to justify the price to myself.

Hopeful for more titles to come to the Quest, better options for streamers, and for Bluetooth to allow use of Steam VR if the laptop/computer is Bluetooth compatible~.

Overall the best standalone VR headset out there. Not only can the Oculus Quest run some great games on its own, it can also act as a PCVR headset with Oculus Link. This allows you to enjoy all of what PCVR has to offer on your quest for as little as $20 (10ft USB3 C to A).

Better yet, there’s an app on the Quest store called Virtual Desktop ($20) which, with a decent wifi connection, allows you to stream your desktop to your headset. With a little sideloading, this can include playing PCVR games wire-free creating a more immersive experience.

My only complaint about the Quest is the comfort aspect, specifically the front-heaviness of the headset. However, this can be easily overcome with a few modifications. My two must haves are a front cover (can get a good one at VR Cover) and a counter-weight attached to the back of the headset.

The front cover provides extra cushioning for your face, allowing an even tighter fit without feeling uncomfortable. As for the counter-weight, you can buy one online or create a DIY one with stuff you got lying around.

Regardless of what you choose, a counter-weight works wonders since it counteracts the front heaviness by moving the center of mass to the top of your head. In my opinion, the Oculus Quest stands above all other VR headsets on the market in terms of bang for your buck.

It’s performance competes with other major headsets but the Quest’s untethered and versitile nature is it’s major selling point.

I’m a longtime Hot Shots/Everybody’s Golf fan. This VR version makes good use of the VR tech. I appreciate that they included an option for using the regular controller – I don’t have space to swing a Move controller like a club, and the controls with the controller are fun – you move your controller to the left in a swing path to hit the ball.

Controlling distance isn’t perfect, and this is especially true with putts. But it’s still fun, and a refreshing take on arcade golf and is very pick-up-and-play. Great stuff!.

The game is very straight forward. It is mainly you and your caddie. It is a time killer. You just choose if you would like to practice or play session. You start off with 3 holes and then work your way to open the option to play all 18 holes.

It seem pretty accurate besides the power of your swing when youre using the driver clubs.

Very pick up and play type of game. Easy to learn but difficult to master. Learning curve is very forgiving and lots of fun unlockables keep it interesting.

I have always loved EBG and to play it in VR is absolutely outstanding. Who cares if I slice a shot? The whole experience is mind blowing. A definite recommendation from a real bad golfer. VR is the way forward.

Nothing works in this piece of garbage, balls roll up hill, always curve off to the left etc to keep you from sinking the put, one minute youre to fast then you`re to slow then perfect. If you play a major everything goes against you , strength is suddenly gone all your puts curve away from the hole even on flat surfaces, balls land and immediately bounce sideways.

this is a total collection of the worst programming i have ever seen. tiger woods was a great game this should be used as toilet paper.

I swear who ever designed this game has Never played golf or a golf video game! You’re fighting the game constantly, and not in a good way. I’m always asking why did they make it this way, that makes no sense, how come I can’t do what I should be able to do.

This game may have been impressive 10-15 years ago, but for a 2019 game it’s very disappointing and it’s just not fun to play. After deleting this horrible game I actually bought a PS3 Tiger Woods 14 game, and it’s way better, no joke.

After owning every golf game imaginable including all the Tiger Woods versions , this game is a poor facsimile of golf. The inconsistencies with irons and on the green with ball rollout are very bad.

The course designs are gimmicky and Target golf for the most part unless you play the TPC courses which are good. I hope they wrangle a license from the players because we need a solid golf game again.

Great golf sim for the switch. I am huuuge Mario golf fan but the Mario golf for the switch missed the mark for me. I also enjoyed tiger woods games back in the day so I thought I would give this a go while it was on sale.

I am really enjoying it so far and is very similar to the tiger games I remember. Graphics are good for being the mobile version and Iike the swing mechanics. Great character customization. The announcers are actually good and don’t repeat themselves too much, a lot of variety.

Cons: cut scenes can be kind of choppy but going into the setting and switching from 30 to 60hz helps. 2k making you sign in every single time you fire up the game is super annoying. Can’t continue your career without and internet connection is also ridiculous.

Both of these things could be changed in an update but probably won’t.

The concept is great, especially for the vacant sports genre for Switch. The basic premise as a budding PGA pro is initially enjoyable- customize your player, and as the game progresses, clothes, clubs, even sponsors.

The game play is what one would expect from a realistic golf game – until it gets annoying with random highlight cut ins of the other players (even when playing alone). The announcers play calling is also fun at first but after a couple tournaments it’s just tedious and predictable as a song on an endless loop.

The backbreaker here is that the game requires the player to log in every time, not just one and done as is the norm with other Switch games. On sale the game is tolerable for a quick round but in no way is it worth full MSRP.

There are definitely pros & cons about this game. Pros- The game does look good- even on the Switch. It’s not top-notch 4k, but the graphics are pretty good. There are a lot of good courses to choose from.

The career mode is pretty good. It presents a pretty wide variety of tournaments and courses. There are rivalries & sponsor contracts to pursue. There’s also pretty good player customization. You can create just about any type of player & clothing, etc.

You can also create your own courses. This is a bit challenging on the Switch- and I don’t know if it’s better on other machines. Cons- The number 1 con for me is that you have to have an internet connection to play.

I recently tried playing on an airplane and it would not let me play the game. This is very limiting and annoying. The number 2 con is that when you hit it in the fairway rough they only allow you to use a 5 iron in terms of hitting for distance.

This is not realistic at all for PGA players who could easily hit woods from the rough for much greater distances. The 3rd con is that every once in a while it will randomly cause you to shank it short- and often into the water.

I’m hitting exactly like I do all of the time- but it just randomly shanks it on me. Overall though, I like the game and have fun playing it. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than say Mario Golf Super Rush.

This is the first golf game I’ve played in probably 10 years and I would recommend it as long as you are aware of some of the cons- especially having to have an internet connection to play.

There was a time that I laughed at the idea of an all in one VR headset. I’ve tried out the PS VR, the HTC Vive, and the Valve Index. All are fantastic, with great visuals, but they’re also all tethered to a console or a PC.

I didn’t think that the Quest 2 could honestly compete with them, so I never gave it much thought. But I also don’t have the room at the moment for a permanent or even semi-permanent VR setup, so after getting a few gift cards for Christmas, I decided to give the Quest 2 a shot.

I couldn’t be more pleasantly surprised and I’ll try to explain why. Graphically, its not going to be on par with the latest PC VR headsets, simply because they’ve got more memory and graphics power to play with that a PC does, but the Quest doesn’t look bad at all.

Some of the models are lower poly count, but they still look good and are pretty immersive, and thats the important part. That and the fact that you aren’t tethered to anything, since the Quest uses inside-out postional tracking.

There are no sensors to set up. You can take it anywhere, and play anywhere, which is a big plus for me. You just set up your safe play area (its basically a wall that the Quest warns you about if you get too near, so you don’t hit or run into anything when you’re playing.

The Quest actually remembers it too, so if you play in the same area like I do, you set it once and then don’t have to do anything except make sure the area is clear before you start playing. The headset is comfortable enough with the standard strap, although if you want to play for longer periods, you might want to change that up.

There are official straps as well as after market options. Audio quality is good too, even though there are any “headphones”. The audio is actually pumped through the plastic strap connectors toward your ears.

It’s a pretty ingenious solution actually, but it is an open system, so ambient noise is not blocked out. You can use a set of headphones though, as there is a 3. 5mm headphone jack on the side near the USB C charging port.

The handheld controllers are comfortable and sturdy, and use AA batteries. I was concerned that I would be going through a lot of batteries, as most VR controllers are rechargeable, but the batteries in the Quest controllers seem to last a long time (Almost a month and the original ones are still going strong for me) The headset itself is rechargeable, which limits the playtime, but I find that 2-3 hours of play time is more than enough for me.

I find I need a break around 1. 5-2 hours in anyway, but if you want more playtime between charges, there are battery pack options out there (Including the Elite Strap w/battery). The included charger takes about 2-2.

5 hours to completely charge the built in battery from empty to full. Finally, don’t think that buying the Quest is locking you into stand alone VR, as you can actually connect your headset to your PC with a link cable and use it as a PC VR headset, making it one of the best options for getting into VR.

While I hate to give Facebook credit (I refuse to call them Meta), I think the Quest 2 is great, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

The Oculus Quest 2 is a neat glimpse into the future bogged down by a plethora of issues. Privacy concerns withstanding – as Meta is aiming to monitor every movement and facial expression one makes whilst using the device – there are many practical problems with the design of the device itself.

It only has 3 different IPD settings, meaning that anyone whose IPD falls in between or outside of the presets will have an issue with blurring vision and an unclear image. This was a huge part of what I disliked about my experience with it, as it gave me significant headaches and visual distortion well after stopping use of the device.

For clarity’s sake, I used it for about 30 minutes at a time, once a day for a few days in a row. Many people tend to complain about feeling motion sickness when using these devices and while I did feel a little goopy in the gut, I didn’t enjoy the sensation of motion enough to get to where this was a serious issue for me.

I grew up playing video games regularly and still do occasionally, so it was entertaining to see how I could interact with games in a 3D space. That being said, none of the games felt very satisfying, and these days if I want to play a video game I certainly don’t want to be strapped into an uncomfortable near-eye projector to be fully engaged in the experience.

The headstrap is a well-documented nightmare and it’s absurd that they charge extra for a higher-quality one instead of changing out the one included. They finally added a silicone cover to the padding around the eyes after countless complaints about the foam irritating people’s skin, and I’m not surprised as it feels kind of like fine sandpaper to the touch.

What would have been the most relaxing experiences were dulled by low-resolution image quality (on a high-speed connection, no less) and in the case of multiplayer games, a disturbing amount of young players – well below the recommended age for using the device in the first place.

It’s a shame that parents don’t monitor their kids better to prevent this from happening and instead slap them into a device that will invariably detriment their developing sense of balance and spatial recognition.

Further still, it is disappointing that Facebook (now rebranded as Meta) has done so little to mitigate these issues. Ultimately, perhaps this product is merely not for me. However, I would recommend against it to anyone who is looking to use it for relaxation and absolutely insist that nobody use this for long periods as it can be dangerous – as is stated in the health and safety information included with the device.

I’m very impressed with this headset! I wrestled with whether to pay $100 more for double the storage capacity, but after perusing apps in the Oculus store and averaging app sizes, I determined there was too little value in that.

Down the road, if I get REALLY into VR in general, I might wind up regretting that decision, but I honestly think that would be the only thing I’d regret about this device. Oculus was experiencing some kind of server issue that prevented me from completing registration and setup right away, so it was about 4 hours after I unboxed it that I was able to use it.

And boy, was I blown away! I still have a VR headset that requires a phone be stuck in it, but I haven’t used it in a while for just that reason. This one, of course, doesn’t need that, and the resolution is really, really good.

Your IPD (Inter-pupillary distance), or the distance between your eyes, can be accommodated by selecting from 3 different widths. I read one review that said the maximum is 68mm, but their IPD was 72.

In that case, the image will appear blurry. For that reason, I suggest checking your IPD before you purchase. What’s in the box is simple, the headset, two controllers (with batteries), a spacer for those who wear glasses and a silicone piece that makes it comfortable to wear against your face.

It’s very well balanced and doesn’t feel heavy to me, but there are optional head straps you can get if you find it too front-heavy. I also like the passthrough feature that lets you see your real-world environment if/when you need to.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and immersiveness of the sound, but I will probably get some ear buds soon so I can get a fuller volume level (I usually have the volume on about 6-7). But it sounds great.

The ‘Home’ environment, which is set up like a house or apartment, is really cool, and there are several different designs available. I found the battery life, stated as about two hours, to be pretty accurate, but I bought a 10-foot USB cable so that I could have it plugged in and playing while it’s charging (yes, you can use it fully while it’s charging).

There is a head strap available with a place for an optional battery to extend use time without worrying about a cable, but that doesn’t seem necessary to me, at least not at this point. I just got done using it, and I was in VR for about 3 1/2 hours, and battery life was still 82%.

So far, I have used it for probably 20 hours total since I’ve had it, and the controller batteries are still at 100%. I’m sure that depends on what you’re doing, though. I have watched a couple of movies, and with the ability to have a curved screen (or flat if you prefer) that views even larger than my 60″ TV, it’s just amazing.

I’ve also played a few games, watched some videos of dancers, concerts, and awesome, immersive tours of places like Switzerland, Italy, the Matterhorn, Great Lakes, under-sea stuff and so many more. All of it has been awesome.

And so far, I have found enough good, free content that I haven’t gotten around to purchasing anything yet! Another effective feature is the voice control. You can do almost anything using voice commands, including powering the device off.

I haven’t explored that feature too deeply yet, but I have started and stopped apps and games, checked local time and weather and performed several other functions just by telling it what I want. You just double-press the ‘Oculus’ button to get it to listen for voice commands One complaint I know many will have, is that setting up the device REQUIRES a Facebook account.

BUT, you can set it so that your FB profile info, including your profile name, will not be revealed in VR if you happen to do some multi-person thing, and neither is your Oculus username revealed to your FB contacts, so that doesn’t bother me at all.

The only thing I wish, and this is so minor it’s really almost petty, but I do wish it came in black. That isn’t even worth deducting stars over. Overall, I just love it, and I highly recommend it!.

Great game. Aimed more for the adult audience as it contains sexual and violent references so not for the younger audience of the golfing scene. What makes this game so good: Same sort of layout as Tiger woods (Up/down on left stick to swing) Get stressed out than beat up your caddy or take a crazy ride on your golf cart.

Play as some of the most craziest golf players your ever likely to meet including some fine ladies 😉 The only downside to this game I believe is the putting it’s not the easiest and not as good as the Tiger Woods putting with the line.

Outlaw Golf is a loads of fun. You cannot be thin skinned because while you are learning how to read the greens and make putts the announcer will rake you over the coals. Comments about your manhood and your ability to function in polite society abound.

You get too far off the beaten track then after a couple of wayward shots it is time for WWE RAW. The girl on girl action is particularly interesting. The costumes are smoking hot and the women who wear them are hotter.

It all adds up to one pleasant pleasurable escape fest.

Great game for adults. Fun watching the golfers beat-up their caddies. Have good control of hitting the golf ball (power, adjusting the sweet spot on the ball). Great graphics for the different courses (love playing Spooky Hollow course).

Best part of the game is the dialogue between golfer and caddie during their fights. Game is not for children.

I love my Oculus Quest. I originally bought it to help me enjoy the VR films showing during the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW. Attending a VR film party during the quarantine was wonderful. It was the first time in months that I was able to actually attend a party with real people.

Even though it was virtual, it felt real and was a lot of fun. I also love using my Oculus to do Supernatural virtual workouts. It’s added a completely new element to my fitness routine. Again, that was a lifesaver during the quarantine.

Plus, the Oculus app syncs to my Apple Fitness app so I can track the impact of my virtual workouts. The only downside to the headset is that it doesn’t really accommodate Black hair. If my hair is in an Afro it will leave it mushed and misshaped.

If I’m wearing a wig or braids, it can become uncomfortable. Also, you have to be very careful not to get any hair product on the lens. All in all though, I’m really happy that I bought it.

The Quest is a truly amazing VR experience. On par in many ways with high end VR solutions at a fraction of the cost. Pros: Crisp screens with minimal screen door effect. Comfortable field of view Fantastic controllers that let you interact with the virtual world in all the ways you’ll need to.

Great gesturing system that feels natural. Comfortable headset that’s surprisingly light and comfortable considering it’s got everything built into it. 6dof allows for a great room scale experience that can support sizes far larger than any other solution on the market.

Wireless. spin round and round as much as you want without worry of a cord wrapping around you or getting tangled. Build in CPU/GPU. a step up from wireless. having the computer built into the headset allows you to bring your VR anywhere you want and customize your VR experience to your suroundings.

Even wireless solutions for PCVR headsets can’t allow for this level of customization of your physical: VR environment. Can charge/play. allowing you to use relatively inexpensive battery packs to keep the headset topped off for nearly endless gameplay.

Cons: Low end graphics: many games have to be downscaled in many ways to make it onto the quest. Some are barely noticeable (in case the game was not demanding int he first place), while others take a notcable hit.

3 hour battery requires continued charging if you want to play for long periods of time or pass it around. A bit of a pain if you don’t actively keep it charged (or have a power bank). Oculus is especially restrictive on which games make it to the quest.

This is a double edged sword, as you’ll end up with a library of mostly fantastic games, but also be missing out on great games that they won’t approve.

If you do not have a vr ready graphics card in your computer then get this. Also do not do any rollercoaster vr you will get motion sickness. Also what i did to salve motion sickness was drink canada dry ginger ale all the time.

This helps stop motion sickness also if you feel the sweats coming on remove some clothing to cool off or wear shorts and no shirt and turn on ac. Also games like journey if the gods can give a bit of motion sickness.

Just continue to drink ginger ale. Also get a battery pack type c port and velcro and velcro a power bank to the back with a type c to type a usb cord to charge the oculus quest while you play so the main batter last longer.

Also buy rechargeable AA batteries because the controllers take AA batteries 1 battery in each controller. Also have good lightning for the controllers to have good tracking. The most fun games for me is vader immortal 3 in the dojo section and space pirate trainer.

Journey of the gods is unique and awesome. Also the wizards is awesome game with magical powers you can upgrade. The fps is fine. The games make the graphics most of the time. It is not really the. R headset because i was looking at oculus quest vs valve index and oculus rift and i cant really see any terrible graphics unless the game itself is just not madefrom awesome rendering software.

There are some great games for exercise on this. I especially like the ones that do not have a monthly subscription. My family loves Beat Saver. We’ve purchased almost all of the additional music for it.

It took a bit to understand how to use it. Registering wasn’t as easy as well because we had a referral code. The link didn’t work and we never got the credit we were supposed to get. Had to contact customer support and they did honor it.

It’s definitely the most realistic vr out there. It’s very crazy how real it seems. I suggest buying the extra charging cradle and maybe the extra battery headset. However we purchased the extra battery headset and haven’t needed to use it.

Be careful with rollercoaster games my entire family felt nauseous and couldn’t do it more than once. Games are pricey but I guess it’s about the same as any gaming system.

The carrying bag is just a regular backpack. Didn’t look anything like the picture. As for the Oculus, it’s ok. Not a lot a games. Played The Darth Vader episodes, which you have to buy each separately, but didn’t take long to finish those.

I give the Oculus 2 stars, and 1 stars for Finger Hut for the cheap “carry bag” it came with. Missing some of the accessories too.

I just received in the mail with my son standing next to me all excited however when I opened the box the carrying bag that I received was a cheap backpack that you can get from five below not a carrying case as described in the picture, also came with just 5 mask not 20, also the cables were not inside the box, missing cables.

I as well as my son am very disappointed because now I have to order from somewhere else and he might not get it in time for Christmas, smh, such a disappointment. I ordered early to make sure he received it in time for Christmas gift which we did but still can’t use it without the cables, I can go and buy some cables on my own but defeats the purpose of me not wanting to leave my house and having the convenience of shopping online.

Hey, the quality looks great and I assume it works great. I have to assume that because so far I have been unable to use it due to the fact that YOU CANNOT CONNECT THIS TO A PC UNLESS YOUR PC HAS A USB-C PORT! Maybe brand new PC’s have USB-C ports, but I’ve never seen one.

You have to buy a completely separate adapter just to make this cord functional. Which is is kind of silly since the cord itself is basically supposed to be an adapter for the Oculus to connect to the PC in the first place.

And another reviewer (which I saw after the fact) said using an adapter might lower the data speed and graphics quality, which might make the cable pointless anyway. So, a trip to two stores in a snow storm the day after Christmas and I still don’t have one because you have to find them online or visit a computer/electronics store for such a relatively uncommon item.

And yes, the Specs do state it is a double-ended USB-C cable. But do you really think that small detail is what someone is looking for when buying this? Pretty sure most people assume the item comes plug-n-play ready for a PC’s regular USB ports.

This thing is a nearly $100 paperweight. Firstly, some of their things say they recommend this others say a normal long usbc cord. The Oculus link software itself is also absolutely atrocious. When trying to view your desktop, the display flickers, when it doesn’t it refuses to register you clicking literally anything.

Trying to hop into a vr game not loaded to your quest is a nightmare. Picture quality and frame rate when using it, are also awful. I have a AMD 6600 XT and an I7 processor VR ready Motherboard, so my computer is not the issue.

If you are looking to connect your Quest to your desktop just buy Virtual Desktop. It is a fraction of the cost and runs and works 10000x better.

This cable isn’t cheap, but that’s because it is fibre optic rather than copper, so it’s super fast (copes with stupid frame rates!) and very light. It’s long enough to cope with some pretty big movements, too.

You might want to invest in a ceiling suspension system to take full advantage. Being fibre, it coils nicely when not in use. It has a strap which can be used to either fasten the coil when not in use, or to secure the cable to the Oculus headset.

Some things that you should be aware of when setting up the link for the first time: • The cable MUST be plugged directly into the side of the Oculus 2 headset. If you have the Elite Strap with Battery, the link will NOT work if the cable is plugged into the battery at the back.

• It is best to make sure that the headset is fully charged before connecting it. My own computer’s USB port was able to maintain the battery charge for over 4 hours, but I have heard that not all ports are powerful enough to do so.

• I found that plugging the cable directly into the motherboard’s USB C port gave the best results. I had problems when I plugged it into the USB C port extension on the front of the computer case. Verdict: I’m happy to pay the premium price for this premium product.

I wouldn’t go back to a cheaper,, heavier, non-fibre cable.

This game dates back to March 2011. Still a good game. I purchased this copy because despite it no longer being a subscription based game, it comes with many free items. What I did find was that while the serial number had never been used, since the game went free to play, I had to open a support ticket to get the bonus items.

This copy came with an experience item up to level 20 and a boost of 5%, plus 30+10 days subscription. The subscription is no longer relevant as it is free to play, but they have introduced something called Patron status, which is basically the equivalent if you want to get bonus items, currency boost etc.

from playing it then Patron status helps. The official forums indicate that you can also get additional bag slots with the item, speaking to the GM I was able to get bag slots and additional soul capacity, unfortunately no free Patron time, but no real loss.

Plenty of DLC in the game which come with additional Patron time and those do stack. The game uses 2 types of currency, 1 is called rex=credits and people can purchase this with real money from the store and or sell it ingame and it can be used to buy some items or unlock some DLC etc.

For myself I enjoy crafting, so been making money off that ingame and then going to use that Platinum I earned ingameto buy Rex ingame, without paying real money. Spamming is not bad, once in a blue moon I get a random spam, so far in 3 weeks of play I have had 1, trying to sell me platinum for real money.

Leeching in dungeons and raids for pugs is a bit of a problem, but the raids are easy and fun and you can get by with active players, after all if the farmers bring too many, they get nothing, so they have to have the right balance.

Overall I am enjoying this game, it’s a blast from the past, played WOW for 7 years and have not played it for 6 years or so, so this is the right balance of I can drop this if I want or play it. I like the way they have combined the servers so there is one auction house shared across all the NA or EU servers, and while people are playing on separate servers (shards) you still group up with them in raids etc.

A very useful feature is also being able to put something in your bank and then use it if you need it for crafting, without first going to go and find it in the bank. There are many evolved improvements in the game, and there been a lot of recent DLC, patches etc.

so it still has good support and new content being released. I should say the game itself is free to download, so you no longer need the copy for the game, but of course with the bonus items you only get that from these original copies.

Rift is part World of Warcraft, part EverQuest 2 and part Warhammer Online. And with its dynamic world invasions constantly spawning, there’s never a dull moment while you quest, group, raid, PvP and craft your way through the world of Telara.

At first glance, RIFT looks like all the other fantasy MMORPGs out there. There are heavy influences from many sources, including WoW, EQ2 and others. Having played these MMOs I can see that the developers have cherry picked the best features from these games for their own.

If that’s all they did however, I would be disappointed. Instead, they used those familiar systems as a base to build two great features into Rift that makes it stand apart from the rest: the dynamic invasions and the flexible class system.

And that’s what separates this title from the rest. The beauty of this game is that it breaks up the monotony of the standard level and gear grind that is common in most MMOs with the rift invasions.

The invasions happen constantly and are great fun to participate in. They scale based on the number of people that are in your group as do the rewards. Plus there is usually a boss mob that requires a full 40 person raid to take down to end the invasion.

Choose your level of involvement and the game will reward you appropriately. The other great feature in Rift is the flexible class system. Once you pick your archetype for your character among the warrior, rogue, cleric and mage options you are introduced to the soul system.

Souls are essentially skill trees focused on unique roles for each archetype. Warriors can pick the Beastmaster soul, for example, to be a pet class or a Mage can choose the Warlock soul to be a debuffer.

Your character can pick three souls to work with out of eight available to each archetype and invest points into each one to get what you want out of them. Trion did a great job of making gameplay fun, immersive and addictive.

This title is a great addition to a genre that no one thought would see another great success since WoW. If you are burnt on your current MMO, I would highly recommend RIFT. If you are new to MMOs, this game a great place to start.

played WoW for the past 5 years and I am pretty much done with it, nothing ever changes in the world other than new instances and armor that takes 1000000 hours to get. Eff that noise. I personally have had enough of the WoW formula, so I gave Rift a shot.

I must say, it has me hooked. The graphics are great, kinda like Aion’s style. Combat is pretty much the same as any MMO, click attack press hotkey to use ability. The quests are your standard quests, kill 5 of this go get this from here, but the major difference in this game, are the Rift segments.

Randomly around the world a Rift will open up in the sky and plop down monsters coming to destroy you and everyone around it. Your job is to go to it and kill everything that comes out of it, closing the rift and earning rewards.

The BEST thing this game did is make it so that if someone is attacking a monster that you need for a quest, if you attack too, it counts! No more waiting for a respawn only to have it ganked again. You automatically join into a “Rift group” when you enter a rift, no queing or invites, you just go have at it.

The Class system is unlike any I’ve ever seen in an MMO. You start off as either Warrior, mage, cleric, or rogue. Then there are 8 sub classes per class you can choose from after earning their “souls”.

You can use 3 at a time to make cool combinations to fit your fighting style. There are also a host of abilities in each subclass and talent trees. Like I said, if anyone’s sick of WoW and wants something just as good, if not better in some areas, then grab Rift.

This product is amazing, there are so many things you can do with it. You can watch movies like in the theater, 3D, play interactive games, travel etc…

A huge step forward from the original strap in terms of functionality and ease of use. As others have mentioned, however, eventually the straps will crack. After hearing about how fragile these are, I bought one of these as a backup in the event my first one (elite strap with battery) cracked.

Guess what? I open this still-sealed spare after 6 months and find that several little hairline cracks have formed after just ONE session. Seems like the material will gradually become more brittle over time, whether you use it or not.

At this price point, one would expect a more durable material. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Although Oculus has been very good about the RMA process and shipping users free replacements, it is still an inconvenience to have to jump through these hoops and wait a week to receive the new one.

Overall, it is an awesome accessory when not broken. Just be aware of the headaches you will go through.

Our new puppy got hold of the Oculus (no longer a problem, we got a table-top charger) and bit off some of the foam from the stock faceplate. Therefore, we went ahead and purchase these. The actual faceplate is the same as the stock, but comes with a rubber (not sure the actual material) strip that goes over the foam.

The rubber rests against your face and my son says it is more comfortable. It comes with a thin and wide faceplate, so you determine which fits your face better. The two pieces that snap onto the lenses are supposed to help block the light that comes in from the bottom, but my son said they were touching his face and he didn’t think it was comfortable.

Therefore, we just left these off. Overall, these were a great replacement, but I would not call them an upgrade. The rubber piece is really the only thing that differentiates them from the stock faceplate.

I was skeptical when buying this product. As someone with a very large head, the stock face padding was painful. It was impossible for my forehead to touch the padding because the sides were digging into my temples on the sides of my head.

Basically, my face just didn’t fit. I wasn’t sure if this would solve my problem. It absolutely fixed my issues. Now the padding rests evenly on all parts of my face so I don’t have extreme pressure anywhere.

Makes it so much more enjoyable for me. And the light blockers actually do block all light for me, so that’s a plus. However, they don’t get a free pass. $40 is way too expensive for what you get. I also shouldn’t have to buy BOTH narrow and wide just to use one.

The other widths should have been included in my original purchase of the Quest 2. The problem is that for large headed people, the price of the Quest is always $40 more than for everyone else. That feels scummy to me.

That being said, this product does do exactly what it’s supposed to, and it does it very well. So I still give it 5/5 for big heads like me.

I struggled with getting a good fit so decided to try the Fit Pack. The narrow interface made all the difference to getting a good, comfortable fit. I have an IPD of 59mm and a narrower face than average.

With the narrow interface, the headset fits really well now with no pressure points on my forehead or cheeks. Also the eyepiece shields work well to help block light leakage. Might be an issue for eyeglasses when using the narrow interface depending on the size of the frames.

Note also that each interface pad now comes with a corresponding silicone cover. Doesn’t appear to be listed in the contents but were included in my box. Rather expensive for what you get but I’m glad I bought it.

Never having used a VR game before I am spell bound by the game it’s a once in a lifetime experience ,flying without an airplane (great) !!!!! Very easy to get drawn into experimenting with the game.

You find it hard to remember you’re not actually at a 1000 feet in the clouds looking down.

A Good game that is similar in style to Nintendo’s pilot wings. Good multiplayer and decent single player. Good use of VR and no motion sickness.

Red Dead Redemtion 2 is the best video game Rockstar has ever made. To begin with, it has a very good story that hooks you from the beginning to the end. I have already play this game and finished like 3 or 4 times I have done each of its main missions, how the developmentof the band its done, its graphics, as well as how it would seem that the npc have his own life.

it has a very good environment that looks real. As i have already said, I have played this game many time but i have never completed the compendium of animals or plants since it have a lot of variety in both sides as predators, preys, plants for health or poisunous.

To complet the compendium, it will be very difficult for you because some animals are very rare to find since they only appear in certains parts of the map and dont leave the place, not like other common animals such as beers, the same with plants, some are so rare that you can only find one per place.

That is why the game is more entertaining as it encourage you to explore the map to complete it 100%. Critics may say that if the main missions and the compendium are the only thing I can do when I finished everything will be borring.

However there are many random encounters and side missions that can give you rewards such as locations of objects, rare tonics, a treasure map or a especial weapon that can only be obtain with that side mission.

RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 out of 1 through 5 this is a 20. How can I comprehend the masterpiece of this game and the amazing character development and the incredible voice acting and the outstanding soundtrack? And best of all sets up perfectly for the first Red Dead.

Arthur Morgan Where do I start with him He is the perfect protagonist, in my opinion, the game sets him up as a simply hardened outlaw who lives to ride and kills to live with him and his gang but as you continue to play the story you get deeper and deeper into who he really is and it’s not only him it’s also with Dutch, and John, and Micah, and Javier, Bill (all these names are your gang members) we all see their true selves at the end of the game.

But Arthur changed the most because back then he was a ruthless man who gave no mercy or pity to others (if you choose to) But as you play as him he suddenly changes and shows that he really is a good man (again if you choose to have high or low honor for Arthur).

As you continue to get higher honor you see his character development as he helps his gang and other important characters like Rains fall and Eagle flies they played a huge part in showing his true self.

And Tuberculosis also played a major part in changing his life, and not only that but John and his family, Tilly, Ms. Grimshaw, Mr. Pearson, Mary-Beth, Even Uncle. Arthur redeemed himself by trying to save as many as he could and get justice to those who deserved it.

His passing was one of the most heartbreaking moments for gamers and It gets even better when you then Play as John Marston (AKA The main protagonist of the first Red Dead Redemption game) Arthurs Good friend and brotherly figure, Together with his former gang members Charles and Sadie who the game will introduce you to as the game progresses through the story.

They hunt and avenge for their good friend and get the retribution he deserved and cuts into the sequel to red dead redemption the entire story is amazing from beginning to first. with breathtaking graphics and unmatchable features that you and all the people in red dead redemption 2 have (your hair and beard literally grows and flows in the wind that’s how amazing it looks).

you have so many strangers and side missions that you can interact with, and it just gets better and better hunting legendary animals, treasure hunting, secretly unlocking weapons that aren’t supposed to be unlocked yet the list goes on, the soundtrack matches perfectly to each mission and gives you a feeling of intense excitement and a feeling that makes you cry, now there are some critics and gamers that have a problem with horse riding because it takes to long, but personally, I enjoyed every moment riding on a horse it was cool, and people also say that the controls are clunky and weird but again in my opinion they’re not it’s pretty good to me and another thing the controls are just like GTA 5 so I don’t understand why people say it’s bad but it just is to them but opinions don’t count in a rating.

The gamer has all these amazing things RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 if I could give higher ratings I could this game deserves more than a 10/10 it deserves a 100/10.

Now, I will start off by saying that I will be comparing this game, Test Drive Unlimited Two, to its predecessor: Test Drive Unlimited. Warning! If you enjoyed the first game, you will not enjoy this one nearly as much! TDU2 is a horrible game in comparison, in this game, they tried to step away from the arcade style racer, and tried to have the game become a simulation racing game, to compete with Forza or Gran Turismo.

The cars handle very differently in TDU2, in a way that makes no sense. Randomly cars will just spin out, and this can become very frustrating. In TDU2, they tried to innovate some new features, such as weather.

All the weather does is make it harder to handle your car when it rains, nothing else. Unlike TDU, TDU2 does not let you race anywhere/anything/anytime you want. You have to obtain licenses to race certain cars in specific races.

This really takes the fun out of the game, as you will be forced to race cars that you have no interest in racing in. TDU2 also added another usless feature, dirt on cars. Yes, that’s right, if you go off road at all with any car, you will accumulate dirt on you car, and over time the dirt will really take away from the beauty of the car, so you have to go to a car wash in game and wash it off for 1,000 credits.

Just a waste. Repeating races: In TDU1, because it was an arcade racer, you were able to compete in the same races and earn the same amount of money each time you raced. Not anymore! With TDU2, after you have completed a race, you are still allowed to compete in it, but for substantially less money, about 100% less or so.

Story: Yes, there is now a story. Imagine if a four year old wrote a book about racing cars, and people with English as their second language read the book. No emotion, incredibly unoriginal, and just plain stupid.

Some Pros: A few cool cars, graphics are a little updated, 2 islands to drive around on, homes you can walk around in. That’s all.

It is a balanced mix of racing style challenges, single player missions and casual, relaxed driving around the island (anyone who liked the relative freedom of games like Driver back in the day will love this game).

The game is beautifully and realistically set on the island of Ibiza, but the developers of TDU 2 have generously included a revamped and improved Oahu from the first game in the series. The ability to drive so many different cars you will love the fact that every car has true to life acceleration, engine noise and handling.

Stunning and realistic graphics I had never been to Oahu or Ibiza before coming across this game but I certainly want to go there now! There is always something else to do. Want a break from racing? Drive around the island and find wrecked cars, dealerships or just head to your favorite beauty spot to watch the sun go down.

Even if you somehow get sick of the very act of driving itself, you can easily switch to Collection mode where you can buy yourself a house, a new car or even clothing and invite your friends over so you can gloat about your new possessions.

The ability to race your friends for bragging rights this is something that any serious race enjoys immensely! Some people have said that the quality of the computer competitors in race mode are a bit tame to the say the least.

Now you can make of that what you will. For some it wont be an issue because they like to win at any cost. Others will find that the hairpin turns, switchbacks and car handling will be enough of a challenge that a race will still be enjoyable.

Then there are the rest of us who prefer to race against our friends where perhaps the competition is a little stronger but just as fun. Another quirk of TDU 2 is that it wont suit those sort of racing gamers that like to race and do nothing else.

Like a tricked-out SUV, this game is massive, great to look at, sometimes loud and clunky, but ultimately fun to play with! The island scenery is phenomenal with plenty of cool stuff to look at while your racing or just cruising around at your own pace.

This combination of racing to the finish line or taking a slick car out for just a joyride on your own helps elevate the replay potential tremendously and makes this game an OWNER and not just a LEASER.

Aside from the great look of the islands, it is ultimately a flat-out fun and open-world race and explore game that has massive online potential, solo career competitions, and free roam exploration. So, you can do it all or just the parts you gravitate toward.

Yes, it reminded me somewhat of Burnout Paradise (which was an awesome game!), but TDU2 adds better scenery and cooler leveling capabilities. For example, I was cruising around and found new roads and different upgrade shops which allowed me to earn Discovery Points.

Exploring the spectacularly beautiful islands is how you also find various showrooms that are necessary to compete in a race. This also gives you a way to expand your car collection which also gives you Collection Points.

But wait — there’s more! Discovery Points and Collection Points are linked together with community and competition challenges so you can gain XP in four categories which makes up your total game rank.

With extra stuff like social interactions, photo ops, buying houses, and all kinds of other stuff, this gives the game it’s replay value on solo player a much higher potential than I had anticipated (I feel much less a freak now for making this a DAY-1 purchase).

Now, throw in the MASSIVE Online potential and it’s a radically cool game for 40 to 50 bucks. That’s not to say that TDU2 has its hiccups, it does, like I am finding out that the game wants you to explore and not just race, race, race.

So, for those who do not like open-world environments BEWARE: This game is NOT FOR YOU!!! You will spend at least some time exploring open-areas for stuff that you need and want to have when you are racing.

This is fine with me because I like this RPG aspect, but it does seem a little forced at times. Also, for hard-core racers, the difficulty may be too easy to master and the A. I. is a little timid. Bottom line.

It’s a 4 star game for it’s mechanics, but so far it gets a 5th star for allot of little extras that shows that the people who made this care and WANT ME to have fun and have fun for a LONG TIME. Factor in the ONLINE potential and the price with the breathtaking graphics and a wealth of things to do beyond just racing, and this game is a WINNER!.
