20 Best Glue For Car Bumper (2023 Updated)

Needed to repair front bumper where it anchored at top. Second attempt. Get fresh stock. King Kong couldn’t get the stuff out of my first kit. Rough up surface to be mated, clean with isopropyl alcohol.

Got oem paint, but will sand and fill in defects. Pretty much worked as expected.

deep scratches in front bumper. I cleaned and sanded the bumper then smoothed on the Bondo with the plastic applicator provided. After it cured, I sanded the edges of the repair, then spray painted the bumper.

It looks like a new bumper. I can’t even see outlines where I applied the Bondo.

However for the price its pretty hard to beat. It also has a longer work window. Not much longer but its a better working time. You also dont need any special tool to use this. I was able to manufacture a new bumper tab using this.

Seems to be a glorified Elmer’s school glue. I was using for car fabric that was coming apart on the ceiling. The adhesive seeped through the material and coated the exterior white. It wouldn’t have been a bother if it left a shadow, but it actually stained white as if the adhesive was dropped on the outside.

The adhesive did not adhere well at all even though I went left to right lightly pressing firm. Finally, I got the adhesive to stick, but it looks awful.

I bought this because it was a really mixed sized bottle of “super glue”, and my kids are always needing things glued back together. The problem is, it’s not a quick-drying super glue! It’s like white school glue and it requires clamping or otherwise securing it while the glue dries.

It might be great for your project, but it definitely wasn’t was I was looking for.

Good Glue, non toxic, for medium strength jobs. Pros: non-toxic, does not smell, does not irritate eyes. You get much glue for your money, 1. 25 oz, and if you cap it properly you can use the glue that remains in the container again.

14Oz. I just used Scotch® Multi-Surface Glue, 1. 25 Oz, White for my car’s sun visor which fell off the inside car roof. I squished much of the Scotch® Multi-Surface Glue, 1. 25 Oz, White into the holes in the inside of the car roof, pushed in the sun visor supports, let it dry overnight, and the Scotch® Multi-Surface Glue, 1.

25 Oz, White did the job with no bad fumes.

You really have to rough up the surface for it to stick otherwise it just peels off. I’m sure it’s fine on the right material but it does not stick well to bumper material or to try and bond headlight tabs.

This stuff is amazing, used it to fix missing/broken tabs on a bumper cover. It dries super fast so make sure you have everything ready to go. If you have more than one repair to do try to prep so you can do all the work with using only one nozzle or you will go through them like crazy.

I just used slightly more than needed to fill the needs and sanded down to size a couple of minutes later.

First product I’ve ever used for bumper tab repair that actually works. My only complaint is the price/cost, it’s priced for shops and not for DIYers. But once you’ve made the investment in an applicator, contour sheet roll and a bunch of spare mixing nozzles, it works great.

Do plan on going through nozzles quickly, though – “Super Fast” means it sets up in ~20 seconds. Any hesitation in-between repairs and you will need to change nozzles.

So, my car’s rear-hatch area has a privacy cover that sits on 2 plastic nubs and requires to be pushed down onto those nubs to lock into place. About a year ago, one of the plastic nub pieces broke off and I was no longer able to use that privacy cover without it flopping around everywhere.

I’ve tried Flex Glue and JB Weld adhesives made specifically for plastics to get that nub back on, but they both failed. Then I tried this. And sure enough, the Q-Bond almost immediately fused that nub back to its rightful place.

I can push and pull on that thing all day without worry and I was able to put the privacy cover on with ease. You have to apply the adhesive and powder correctly, but when you do there’s nothing else like it.

A very cool product. To be clear – the glue itself is nothing new, it is cyanoacrylate with all pros and cons of it. One of the big disadvantages of it is inability to stick to non-porous materials (like PP-PE plastics).

What makes this product unique is powders it comes with. Provided the material you need to repair is comparable with the glue, you can reconstruct missing pieces of it by using either grey or black powders.

It worked like a charm in my case (crushed spacers of pressure washer pump housing that were missing 20-30% of plastic). The end result is solid as epoxy. I am very happy. This product gets its place on my shelf right next to epoxy putty that I was using before for such jobs.

But with epoxy it takes days to get hardened, with this glue you got result in like 2 mins.

I was genuinely surprised by this stuff, I’ve always been a jb weld user and tried many other plastic welder products out there and this stuff has them all best so far. This project I was filling some holes on my golf cart body to prepare for paint, one was about ? of an inch and the other was about a ¼.

I cleaned and sanded the area, deburred the holes and then put a piece of masking tape on the back side, the instructions were not very detailed on how much powder to use so I filled the hole up about halfway.

Once i added the glue i quickly realized its exactly the consistency of super glue so I let it harden, and added more powder and glue. I gave it about 10 seconds and then I started sending and it did perfectly.

Not only did I not have to wait 10+ hours like other products but it sanded better than any of them, other products almost melt and get gooey, this was very similar to sanding fiberglass. So sense it was a super easy repair I figure I would give it a test to give me and idea how strong it was, I took my finger and tried to press the new plug of q bond through the body.

The plug didn’t move, instead the whole body moved along with it. This is all after only about 3 minutes of applying it! I will definitely update this review if it fails me but I dont see that happening and if your reading this, it hasn’t.

I dont review products often but I felt this deserved something for how impressive it is. I will definitely be keeping this on my shelf from now on.

Worst glue ever. Once you open single container you better use it all or you’ll never get the top off again. The amount in one tube is ridiculous. Glue gets everywhere except where you need it. Buy something else.

Cheap cost for a commonly used item. Quantity is good for average garage work, like ours. Never had a bad batch, or any leakers. Bought dozens of these before, good value.

The glue works fine. Super glue is super glue. The problem with this product is that the nozzle and cap are poorly designed. Every time you put the cap back on the bottle, it ends up glued securely to the nozzle.

Getting it open again requires twisting and pulling, sometimes needing a pair of pliers. By the time I had used a quarter of the glue in the bottle, the cap and nozzle were both so badly mangled that I could no longer accurately apply glue, nor could I cap it.

I had to throw the rest away. It’s expensive to keep throwing out unused glue, so I would recommend finding a different brand with a better nozzle on it.

I bought the glue and returned it. It had more stickiness than I needed. Rockler has three different kinds. I may try it again. Rockler let me return it with no questions asked.

I use this extensively for wood turning. Works great, though I highly recommend the accelerant spray too. The spout and cap tend to get messy and/or break as the glue gets used many times, especially with larger bottles.

I mostly use the thin except in larger defects.

Meh. Regular gorillla glue works. This- just another super glue. Package says will dry in 10 seconds. More like 10 minutes. With clamping on my project.

I love this stuff!!! My hands crack because of dryness and cold weather. I use it on the cracks to stop the pain plus it allows them to heal without the cracks getting bigger.

Description said it was 10 ounces of glue, received package and it shows to only be .2 ounces, it would take 50 of these packages to get to 10 ounces. Never opened, going back to the store.

Bonds very quickly, which is great to glue small pieces (craft) that cannot be held together for long. As far as I know this is the fastest of the strong epoxy type glues on the market. I would not recommend for large pieces since it hardens so quickly after mixing.

For craft it is perfect, it can also be easily painted, it’s pale color is rapidly covered and hidden. Can be used for a few months once opened and capped. In summary, awesome glue for craft and small pieces.

Needed it to fix a broken piece on my car, the hood release lever is made of ABS. A spring is held captive by a thin piece of plastic that had broken. Needed to fill the void, no bigger than the head of a pin.

Used up the whole syringe of the product, following the directions. each time it was just a foamy, rubbery result. No strength, didn’t bond to the plastic at all. like it was hot glue. Not good for what it’s marketed for.

Ended up just using dollar store super glue and baking soda.

The directions on the tube says to use a primer. Depending on the substrate you’re applying the adhesive to, it probably is not necessary. We used the adhesive to re-mount a skid-steer windshield on it’s metal frame.

This windshield is on hinges. It’s not stationary like most windshields. The vast majority of the original adhesive had been removed. What was still on the frame was a very thin film. Since the original adhesive was so well bonded to the metal, it was not a worry to apply over it.

Be sure to have enough adhesive on hand since once you start the application if you run short, you won’t have time to go get more. The adhesive does allow enough time to apply and set the glass. You should have at least two people to properly align the glass when you set it in the adhesive.

It was easy for our installation because we were able to have the frame on a bench and the installation of the glass did not have to be set at an angle like it would be if the glass was being installed on a vehicle.

We followed the directions and did a dry fit prior to applying adhesive. Take note of the margins around your glass when you dry fit so you can set the glass on the adhesive and not have to move it much.

You can slide it a little once it’s set in the adhesive to get it right where you want it. We allowed 3 days before picking up the windshield and hanging it back on the skid-steer. The product worked well and I would buy it again, but I hope the windshield doesn’t get broken again.

On my 2013 Chevy Tahoe, the front door padded handles have a tendency to breakdown internally after years of use. The original piece of internal plastic that creates the rigidity in the handle will eventually break/crack.

Without that rigid plastic piece, the top portion of the handle becomes easy to stretch and peel back, so you can then add back the needed rigidity. I peeled back the foam handle and cleaned out the broken/cracked plastic inside the handle.

Next added some 3M product into into the bottom of the slot where the plastic was. Then inserted an 8 inch x 1/4 dia. steel rod on top of the bottom layer of 3M. Then carefully covered the steel rod with a top layer of the 3M urethane and let it dry overnight.

Success! A YouTube video only used the 3M urethane and for that user it created enough rigidity. My steel rod addition was round and had no sharp corners and was locked inside the 3M urethane and very rigid.

Great Stuff II.

The price is outrageous at first, when compared to similar adhesives. But if you want your window in to where it just won’t come out, and seals against water better than any single other product out there, this is the tube for you.

There’s enough sealant here to install 2 windshields if you get the bead right. Allow 24 hours to cure. I tested this on a junker Saturn parts car, and it took 3 times longer to cut this sealant out than it did the factory sealant.

The bond is almost magnetic. It was well worth the money I paid compared to Safelite’s install quote and just as good a repair (if not better, thanks to this).

The price is great, but this gel was made in China while the regular HFT super glue I purchased before came from India. My first shock was when I opened a tube and had it squirt out a lot of the glue due to internal tube pressure.

I was outside in 65-degree weather in the shade, so heat was not a problem. The second shock was when I discovered that the tube was mostly filled with air with very little actual product in the tube.

This repeated itself for the next two tubes. I never did get enough out of one tube to finish my project, and my having to open another tube caused a delay in the bonding which ended up being a disaster.

This was my first mishap with HFT, and I hope this is my last.

There is no question the super glue in these tubes is very effect with a surface solidification time of some 20-30 seconds, which is actually longer than the product package states. The big caveat is that I have found with these tubes is that the dispensing tip clogs and solidifies before you have used all of the product.

Th saving grace, fortunately, is that you have 10 rubes to use, so the overall cost per tube is low enough so that you don’t mind having to discard a tube before it is completely empty. You can also poke holes in the tube to get out more glue to use.

I use this in my scale model building, gluing styrene. It’s thick coming out it the end of the nozzle, and allows me to move it around a bit. Like all super glues, it WILL stick to your skin, so be careful.

It cures pretty quickly, but not so fast that I can’t make fit adjustments. I’ve bought this several times now and recommend it highly.

This is a great must-have product ! Loctite Super Glue always works great. The biggest problem I have is remembering exactly where I put the tubes from the last time I used them. Most recently I used the Super Glue to repair a ceramic ring box and a broken plastic squeaker on a baby walker that broke.

Not only did it repair the squeaker fast so it worked again but the break was so sharp the walker was totally useless until it was fixed. This glue has saved so many broken things from having to be thrown out because other choices for repairing them would have been worthless even temorarily much less permanently! The glue creates a bond so strong things are just like new and with the glue being being clear one can never even tell they were ever broken.

I use the glue several times a year for things made of different materials and it always works! With the 2 pack I leave one in the garage out by my tools and the the other in the house so one is always easily accessible when I really need it.

I have this broom that I purchased at a Home and Garden show 12 years ago. It’s not a typical broom you can just go buy anywhere, and it was expensive! After many failed attempts I was ready to toss it out, but decided to try Loctite super glue as a final attempt to save my broom.

IT WORKED!! I will NEVER purchase any other brand from here on out! I decided to try it on a few other things just to test, and I now have a vacuum cleaner wheel that I do not have to replace! It comes out of the tube easily, doesn’t come out to fast and get messy, and I only held it for about 10 seconds and then walked away until cured!.

The Loctite Super Glue came in handy to fix numerous broken things around the house. I fixed the reading glasses with this glue and it held everything perfectly. The super glue is strong and doesn’t leave residue if you do it properly.

This super glue saved me from buying another pair of glasses for a while since it helped hold the lens together. I also use this on the handle of the mug that I dropped and it helped seal in the cracks and fix the handle so I can use it as decoration.

This mug was a gift that I cherished so this helped fix those problems in the house.

Bought this to stick on some aftermarket letter emblems for my Land Rover that came with a cheap, weak adhesive backing. This stuff is strong and dries clear within about 30 minutes to an hour depending on ambient temperature/humidity.

No need to worry if any excess oozes out of the edges of the emblem—it can be scraped off after it dries. I recommend.

I tried this on my car, the black frames were flying when I drive. It worked very good on the front glass frame, but it didn’t work on the windo sheild for the driver door. It turned yellow and it looked bad.

Maybe because it was from hard plastic.
