20 Best Frozen Fruit Dessert Maker (2023 Updated)

This product was a disappointment for me. Could accomplish the same thing. maybe better, with my magic bullet. It’s difficult to get the blade clean as fruit pieces get stuck in the teeth. It’s not smooth, like they make it look on the ad.

It’s like frozen chunks. Not worth the trouble set up, clean up, and doesn’t satisfy my craving for ice cream. I’ve emailed them twice to ask about a return, but they don’t respond.

Wow, amazing that frozen fruit can come out to taste so creamy! Really, no exaggeration here. It does take prep work (5-10 minute to cut the fruit to size, then freeze it on a plastic plate so it doesn’t stick to a cookie sheet and then when frozen to put it in a ziploc bag ready for the minute you want to make your Yonana frozen treat) But, boy is it worth it if you want to reduce the fat content to 0, eliminate dairy, or eliminate unwanted sugars from your diet.

It even is worth it if you are not on a diet.

This machine is amazing. Kids love it. Take frozen fruit (follow directions) Slightly thawed. Smush in machine and out comes a yummy sweet healthy treat. I love it. Very healthy treat. You do have to take the parts off and clean then so it’s not the easiest to clean (easy to me means put in dishwasher do nothing) but def worth it.

Most of the time I get my fill of ice cream, frozen yogurt and popsicles in the summer and early fall but there are times that I crave something cold and sweet in the dead of winter. Blenders can handle almost anything if they have enough horsepower but you need to use the pulse button or take the lid off and move the ingredients around so there’s contact with the blade.

When I saw a demonstration of the Yonanas Deluxe Ice Cream Treat Maker (also referred to as Yo’Nanas Frozen Healthy Treat Maker) I thought it would be perfect to use with all of the frozen berries and bananas I had in the freezer for baking.

If you want super soft and tasty bananas you should freeze them before cutting them up and mashing them, you will get a ton of flavor from them that way. While this is easy to use, it isn’t going to yield something that tastes like ice cream unless you add milk, cream or yogurt to it.

That’s good for people who are lactose intolerant and are looking for something that they can make special desserts with but if you want a regular ice cream maker, this isn’t for you. It isn’t going to make enough per batch to serve as you would ice cream but for single portions or diet portions for two people, it’s just right.

I have used a ton of different frozen fruits in this and the only thing that didn’t turn out all that great were grapes. I think the skins were too thick but this managed to tear through everything else I put in it so I can’t see how grape skins were a huge challenge.

The noise level is pretty high but you only have to run it for three to four minutes. It is relatively safe to use but wouldn’t allow those under the age of thirteen to use it without supervision. Most of the parts are dishwasher safe but I prefer to hand wash and air dry it so there’s no chance that the plastic will crack.

My favorite way to have nicecream is with unsweetened cocoa powder or matcha powder with this yonanas. The texture is the best! Some internal mechanism in my first machine disintegrated after 2 months (nearly 300 bananas later!) and they kindly honored the warranty!.

I like it although the machine was a little less powerful than I was expecting. The directions say to let it rest every so often. You also need to let the fruit thaw out a little bit or it seems too hard for the machine to grind up.

The result was really good though, just like soft serve ice cream. Delicious!.

This machine is great for making ice-cream-like frozen banana treats – ideal if you are avoiding milk and/or added sugar. You can add other frozen fruit, always with banana as the base. It takes a few tries to get the hang of it because the fruit needs to thaw just the right amount before adding to get the best results.

There is always some left behind in the machine, so it’s a race against time to dismantle it and retrieve the remaining product before it melts. Probably a good idea to make a big batch so that any wasted amount is relatively small.

I think this is a great gift for anyone who is lactose intolerant and misses real ice cream!.

Ok. This machine is awesome. The sorbet is delicious. You have complete control of the ingredients. No processed sugar!!!

I had a Rival Ice cream maker very similar to this one. I was excited to get a new one after many years of use. So I tried this brand as it looks identical to the Rival. First of all the biggest issue is that the lid doesn’t lock into place.

The more it churns and the thicker the ice cream gets, the lid pops off. I have to stand there and hold it. The next major issue is that the paddle is so cheaply made that it falls out of the hole in the lid multiple times.

It has a difficult time churning because it’s so flimsy. Basically, you get very soft serve ice cream because the important parts of the machine won’t hold together to churn it more. This was a waste of money and I’m going to start looking for a different brand.

Don’t waste your money!.

Just recently purchased this little ice cream maker for my husband and myself. Ive made three different versions of vanilla ice cream. The maker preformed excellent on all three. The recipes how ever two left were left wanting, the third was exactly what we were looking for in a homemade ice cream recipe plus it was simple.

Love this little ice cream maker. Would I recommend defiantly. Here is the good recipe. 2 cups heavy cream 2 1/4 cups milk 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 teasp. salt 1 tabsp. vanilla (Madagascar) Directions; Put milk and sugar in a container and whisk until sugar is dissolved add remaining ingredients stir.

Pour into ice cream maker, and turn on for 30 min.

Takes 45-60 mins to get somewhat creamy, never actually reaches true ice cream consistency though (remains too soft). Occasionally (for unknown reason) it freezes to the sides of bowl and builds up too much causing the paddle to catch and push the lid off, ice cream splatters and you have to scrape the sides down and sometimes start over.

It’s an okay product to learn on that’s not super expensive. Since we are enjoying homemade ice cream tastes we will be investing in a higher quality maker.

I bought this today after seeing it in the BB&B email with that awesome 20% coupon yesterday. I already had some frozen bananas in hand so when my 12yo son got home from his last day of school today we made some Yonanas and it was DELICIOUS!! We added a sprinkle of mini m&m’s and butterfinger bits.

But it didn’t need a lot of the mix-ins, a little was enough and it stayed on the healthier side. I did notice what other reviews said about he sound and it startled our dog and took him a few minutes to get used to.

But it wasn’t awful. The texture was definitely soft serve ice cream texture. It tasted and felt like banana ice cream. If you don’t like bananas then you won’t like it but it looks like you can use other fruits.

We can’t wait to try different flavors combinations. I don’t have a dishwasher but clean up was super easy. Great purchase and a very reasonable price, even better with the coupon.

My (teenage) daughter has a massive sweet tooth, and ice cream is her weakness. Nobody, not even Michael Phelps, could eat the amount of ice cream she does and be healthy-needless to say I was looking for a healthy alternative while not denying her the things she loves about ice cream! I was a little skeptical at first (frozen bananas?) but based on the reasonable price, discount code and free shipping decided to give Yonanas a shot.

The instructions are straight forward-freeze ripe bananas (peeled first!) and any other fruit you might want to use-and if you’re not the creative type, there is a pamphlet with great combinations (cookies and cream anyone?).

Slightly defrost the fruit, then simply feed into the chute, pushing down with the attachment. We tried strawberry banana the first time-with a 2:1 ratio of bananas to strawberries. The ‘ice cream’ comes out of the machine in the order that you add the fruit-banana, strawberry, banana, so you obviously have to give it a quick mix to combine.

The result? Sweet, creamy delicious ‘ice cream’. It had the texture of creamy ice cream, the delicious flavor of (surprisingly) strawberry with just a hint of banana. It was very sweet-if I hadn’t made it myself I would have thought there was added sugar.

As my daughter enjoyed her first of many delicious bowls of ‘ice cream’ I took apart the machine, washed it and dried it in about 2 minutes. It was incredibly easy to clean up. As far as I’m concerned this is a win-win.

My kids are eating more fruit and zero regular ice cream. It is easy and safe enough that they can make it on their own (and clean it). If you ‘re on the fence about trying this, you have nothing to lose, it’s a great product!.

I’d been watching the presentations for the Yonanas machine for a long time, and I finally decided to give it a try. What a huge disappointment! This machine is a flimsy plastic piece of junk. It also does not work as described.

I followed the instructions perfectly, and what came out of the machine looked nothing like what was presented or advertised on the box. When I went to clean the machine, I noticed that at least half of the fruit I had put into the machine remained inside the components and never even emerged from the machine.

It was also difficult to clean. This was a terrible purchase, and I am disappointed in QVC for selling such a piece of junk. I’m sending this back and marking it defective since it does not work as described.

I am generally happy with the ability of the device to freeze ice cream, gelato. My only complaint is that the connection to my mixer does not allow the mixer to lock. As the ice cream freezes, it causes the mixer arm to jump less I hold it down.

I need to get a hard silicone or plastic spatula to safely scrape the sides to remove all the ice cream after freezing to avoid scratching the bowl.

Quality is good. Delivery date was good. However, when I placed my order I was told that the Dessert Maker Attachment is compatible with all 5. 5 qt cuisinart stand mixer and when the attachment arrived it could not fit the 5.

5 qt stand mixer that I have. Now I’m stuck with this attachment and can’t use it because the attachment is not the right fit for the stand mixer.

I purchased this attachment for my stand mixer and I was so excited to make the vanilla ice cream. It was super simple recipe and was quick and easy to mix up and make. I let it chill while I prepared dinner and then mixed it and it was our dessert.

I would recommend this attachment.

I love this soft serve maker. I’m a big fan of Acai Bowls and this makes a perfect one. I partially thaw the frozen Acai pack, then add partially thawed frozen bananas, strawberries, pineapple, etc. and feed them through the maker.

You can also add a small amount of unfrozen fruit to make it a more ‘softer’ version. Then finish it off with greek yogurt or the topping of your choice. Best small appliance I’ve purchased in years! Easy clean up.

The yonana with slightly spotted banana with Hersheys cocoa powder is delicious. It also is extremely easy operate & clean. After I used mine, I bought it for my 3 married daughters. I stopped eating ice cream loaded with sugar.

The Yonana makes a healthy ice cream-like frozen fruit desset using bananas and other frozen fruits. It makes only one serving at a time and requires muscle to press the frozen fruit through the shoot where it contacts the blades.

The consistency is smooth and creamy and thinker than when made in a blender. It is also eaiser than using a blender which requires repeated stirring and maybe adding liquid to get the fruit down into the bottom of the container to be blended well.

This has been the perfect appliances addition to our house. My husband used to eat ice cream nearly every day. When his diet was restricted while being treated for candida, this meant no sugar, he became frustrated.

He missed having something cold to eat as a treat. The Yonana produces delicious treats using ONLY fruit. We now have friends considering the Yonana.

I’ve already submitted one review, but as I’ve been sent a further request and I’ve now used the iced dessert maker for a few weeks I’ll submit another. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. I’ve made a variety of desserts from simple ice cream, through sorbet and frozen yoghurt all of which have turned out really well.

The only slight difficulty is cleaning the bowl as the mixture tends to freeze very firmly to the inside of the bowl, and it takes a long while for it to defrost enough to be able to release it. But that is obviously preferable to the bowl not staying frozen long enough.

A very good purchase which I’m very pleased with. And fast delivery all very well packed.

Only used it once since I got it, so probably not a fair review. The inner bowl takes up quite a large space in the freezer. Found it fiddly to put together. It then did what it should do taking approx 15 mins.

But then difficult to get all the goodness out of the bowl. You can’t use any sharp objects to scrape the sides so have to wait till they’ve melted a bit by which time the desire for ice cream has. melted! Each making is a one off, which means waiting several hours for bowl to refreeze before another batch.

Probably need a second bowl if you want to make another batch – but that would take up too much space in my freezer. Going to have another go tomorrow, so will probably repost.

I got this Iced Dessert Maker a couple of weeks ago. My first attempt I put the bowl in the freezer for 14 hours and I was a bit disappointed with the result since it took a long time and it wasnt properly frozen after 30 minutes.

The next time I left the bowl for 24 hours and it worked like magic. The texture was soft and creamy and it was ready in 15 minutes. It definetely pays off to follow manufacturer instructions since it does say that the bowl needs to be completely frozen.

I also found that mixing in egg yolks with the milk and cream mixture makes de resulting ice cream thicker and creamier. Probably the best machine in the market and it also looks great. It is quite big so be sure it fits in your kitchen!.

I love my new ice cream maker! The lemon and lime first attempt was a success quickly followed by a new York lemon cheesecake with digestive biscuit running through it. Yes, it’s a bit noisy while churning but I’ll put up with that for 30 mins as the results are fab!.

This simple, easy to use (it’s just a single speed electric motor, after all!!!) kitchen appliance is the cat’s meow for producing the most delicious frozen yogurt you’ve ever tasted. Why? Because you have total control over the ingredients and process of preparation.

Use full fat yogurt (5% milkfat) and ONLY premium quality (NO HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP) fruit preserves! If you don’t want to have a rock solid frozen yogurt iceberg, only place the bowl in the freezer for six or seven hours instead of the recommended 18-24 hours, and it will come out at a nice, even, smooth consistency.

Experiment with cutting up small, fresh pieces of organic fruit while you’re adding the yogurt to the mixture. We’ve not tried making ice cream or sorbet yet.

Bought last January. After less than 7 months, it just stopped working without any reason. I’m not a professional baker. I baked cakes just for myself maybe once or twice a month. No excessive use at all.

This little gadget works so well! Made strawberry ice cream just last night with it. I am so glad I just bought the attachment instead of buying a dedicated ice cream maker at 3 times the price!
