There are a few things to consider when purchasing frozen fish at Costco. The first is the type of fish you would like to buy. There are many different types of fish available, so you will need to decide which type you would like to purchase.
The second thing to consider is the price. Costco typically offers frozen fish at a lower price than other retailers. The third thing to consider is the quality of the fish. Costco typically offers high-quality fish that has been properly frozen and stored.
The company name is a play on ocean leading you to believe it’s salmon from the Ocean. I asked what species of salmon it was and informed it was farm raised from chili. I told them that I still didn’t know what species salmon it was.
In addition I informed them that farm raised salmon is higher in PCB’s. I included that I would toss it in the woods for the raccoons and skunks but didn’t want to feed them contacted PCB fish. In a response I was informed it was salmon of a variety I had never heard of from the waters of Chilli in the waters of the glacerial run off.
In the future I’ll order my salmon from the fish Market I had bought all my seafood from for the 14 years I lived in Anchorage. The fish is in tbe freezer but I won’t eat it. I think it’s going to fertilized the garden.
I was extremely disappointed with the product I received. The portions look NOTHING like what appears in your advertisement. They are chunks that look more like scraps then nice center cut pieces as shown in your ad.
I paid a premium price for a poor product and would like to return it for a full refund. If this is the product you are selling your ad is very deceiving. If this was just an unfortunate mistake I expect you to correct it.
Shipped and packed well. Mostly frozen. I wish the pieces were cuts as pictured. Some pieces are very thin. But all are 6 ounces each. And I prefer skin on. I cooked my first piece today. The salmon was sweet, soft and delicious.

Have been ordering this particular frozen salmon filets for at least three years and after researching, it is the second best deal, other than fresh salmon. However, fresh salmon costs considerable more money.
I selected this particular salmon, because Perricone advocates that Wild Caught Alaskan Salmon is better than farmed salmon. A small filet of wild salmon is more nutrient dense than farmed, has 131 fewer calories and half the fat content as the same amount of farmed.
Many studies have suggested that increasing the consumption of fatty fish such as salmon, decreases the risk of obesity, diabetes and heart disease. Dietary intake of salmon also supports healthful cholesterol levels.
Salmon can be a possible alternative to protein sources such as chicken and beef. It provides ample protein, but far less saturated fat content, making salmon an ideal source for maintaining weight loss or a normal – range BMI.
Although farmed salmon might have slightly more Omega – 3 fatty acids, it also has 20. 5% more saturated fat content – and that’s fat you do not want!! One possible reason for this additional fat is farmed fish aren’t fighting against upstream currents like wild salmon.
In addition, food testing reveals farmed salmon is one of the most toxic foods in the world – having more in common with junk foods than health foods. However, broiling, grilling or baking fish are healthy cooking methods that lower the amount of fat and PCBs that you consume.
Bottom line, I believe examine the Pros and Cons and eat everything in moderation.
Most economical way to add an Alaskan wild caught fish, that is not farmed, and that is also very high in Omega 3 oil fatty acids, and low in Mercury and Lead, to a healthy diet. Eating a quality fish at least twice a week is necessary for a healthy diet and this Member’s Mark Wild Caught Alaskan Sockeye meets the bill and allows me to save money, PLUS it is very delicious.
I incorporate the filets into many recipes or just grill it straight out of the package, after defrosting. The package is 3 lbs, and the fillets are meal sized. I love that there are no other additives or seasonings, and I can add my own.
It is flash frozen very soon after processing. If I go to the fish store to get fresh salmon from Alaska, if it can be had, it costs $24/lb. Scottish salmon, which is farmed, is about $20 to $24 a lb also, so this is a much affordable buy for my family.
We buy fresh salmon on a weekly basis. I decided to give this a try for kids school lunches. I’ve never been fond of frozen salmon but the taste and texture in this one wowed me. The meat is so rich and flavorful! I loved it and it has become a stable on my shopping list.
My kiddos love it t oo. We didn’t find it too dry. The reason I think everyone is saying it’s dry is because this is sockeye salmon. Look up the different types of salmon usually sockeye is a little thinner in meat and not as moist/fatty as other salmons commonly sold.
This fish has flaky and tender meat and can be pan-seared, fried, baked, or grilled to provide a delectable meal. Our Walleye Fillets are locally caught in the pristine freshwater of Michigan’s Great Lakes and immediately frozen locking in flavor.
Each fillet is frozen separately, so you can use them all at once or save them to create multiple meals.
recently bought walleye fillets from Oceanside for the first time. They exceeded my expectations. They arrived well frozen, professionally wrapped and looking like they were swimming recently. Upon thawing my first couple I could tell they were extremely fresh as there was NO fishy odor, just a freshly caught lake odor that fresh fish have.
Needless to say, they tasted even better than they looked. Will definitely order from Oceanside again. Highly recommend them.
I ordered two orders of fillets which by their advertising should have given me 12 fillets. I paid 180. 00 and ended up with six fillets. This place sucks. Their answer is that the fillets weigh more than i think.
I also order five pound from thier competitor and got 12 fillets for almost half the cost. Stay away this place is highway robbery.

this experience was horrible, the piece of fish was not fresh and it smelled as soon as i opened it, even my husband caught on because he mentioned how fishy it was and he doesn’t notice anything. I washed it and gave it to my baby to eat, she loves sashimi.
we had 40% of it left over for the next day and by the next day the fish was just not edible, it had a musty and fishy after taste and it was pretty nasty so I threw a bunch of it out (and it was not cheap so it was like literally throwing money into the garbage can) however my baby not knowing better and I myself had given the fish to her prior to tasting it myself and ate everything.
If I had known that it tasted so bad I wouldn’t have had her eat it! I was so worried, luckily she didn’t get sick but I really didn’t appreciate this experience. If the fish isn’t fresh you shouldn’t sell it especially as sashimi grade! I’ve always purchased these fish and never had a problem with it before but this time I am thoroughly disappointed, not sure if I will buy again from this experience.
I might try the other fish vendor at the farmers market in Larchmont.
I eat salmon 3x a week abs struggled with consistency in my fish and not having to always have a piece that had bones in it or was way to fishy and not a good flavorful light piece of fish. I always had to worry about quality with my fish as well as Whole Foods and other markets here just were not up to par with what I would want in a fresh fish.
I absolutely adore Nordic catch and walk every Sunday to the market to get my pieces for the week. Once you go Nordic you will never go back. Also when I run out if I go crazy with salmon which I tend to do you can get delivery in Los Angeles and it’s free if you spend $60.
I am pleased everytime I purchase salmon from Nordic catch. I grew up eating fresh live fish almost every week, so I’m very keen on whether fish is fresh or not, and the Salmon at Nordic Catch is definitely very fresh.
I’ve ordered other fish from them, such as the Artic Char and Cod ****, and the two packages that I received for those were not fresh, probably because they all come from different distributors. The salmon is always very good though, stick with the salmon!.
Pleasantly surprised with the flavor! Had never heard of the brand, but it had good reviews, so I ordered 12 cans. I don’t need more right now, but when I re-order, I’ll make certain to order them with no other items.
Hopefully Walmart will make sure they are shipped in one properly sized, securely sealed box. I was disturbed that my 12 cans were packaged so oddly, with pretzels on the top of the very loosely taped box, then some packing material, then 2 crunched boxes of individually wrapped breakfast snacks and the 12 cans of salmon battling it out on the bottom.
I took photos, but after finding only 2 dented cans (that tasted great), and inspecting each wrapper of crackers that surprisingly remained unbroken, I forgot about it. Please treat my tuna with respect, Walmart!.
I’m very impressed with this salmon. It’s not easy to find canned salmon that tastes great, has good texture (not too mushy), and is offered at such a must-see-to-believe price! As an additional bonus, some skin and bones are included, and the extra nutritional kick is greatly appreciated.

My goldies can’t get enough! It’s super easy and convenient feeding. I just rotate through the varieties and give them a cube each day to supplement their regular pellets. The result is fat, happy, healthy goldfish!.
Several of the bloodworm cubes contained white fuzzy substance and about 30% actual bloodworms. The white substance appears to have held the cubes together and broke apart in the tank. The fish had to pick at it in order to get to the bloodworms, but could not actually eat the substance.
John West Pink Salmon 213G From the cold clear waters off coastal Alaska and Canada. Caught fresh our superb wild Salmon is packed with taste and flavour and is deliciously versatile in everything from salads to fishcakes.
Our business was built on Salmon and its still very important to us.
Hungry? Need something to excite your tastebuds? This salmon is the answer. Never fails to go excellently with a traditional salad and /or warm (not hot) baked potato. Try putting some creamed cheese on top with salad.
Excellent price. and tin salmon is getting more expensive by the day. I bought 5 tins. There’s plenty of liquid water to make a good stock/broth and I’ve only had 1 spine bone in each tin. Tasty with cucumber on sandwiches and also for a broccoli bake.
Combining the healthiest fish with the healthiest vegetable is a winning combination for you and your best friend. Alaskan salmon caught in pristine waters of the North Pacific is combined with the nutritionally superior sweet potato of North Carolina to produce an exceptionally healthy and delicious treat from Blue Ridge Naturals.
Salmon is a natural source of Omega-3 and Omega-6 that support cardiovascular health, healthy skin & coat conditions, and joint health. The sweet potato has one of the highest percentages of vitamins and minerals of any vegetable.
It is ranked the #1 nutritious vegetable by the Center for Science in the Public Interest. Exercise, a balanced diet, not more than 5% treats, plenty of fresh water and a big hug daily are recommended for your dog.
Wash your hands after handling this or any other dog treat.
My senior Chi has had a few teeth removed so he can no longer enjoy harder salmon jerky or, his absolute favorite, pig ears. Now given the choice he happily picks these over any other treat. They’re a godsend also for getting him to take his arthritis medicine.
They’re soft enough that I can use an xacto knife to carve out a little slot and push the pill inside. He gobbles it up no problem! I’m hopeful to try some of the other flavors soon. I hope you never stop carrying these as I can’t find them anywhere else!.
My dog loves all things salmon and this did not disappoint him. Sometimes I give him a whole stick or 2 and sometimes I cut them to small slices and use them as “training bits”. Much cheaper than the pre-packaged bits.
I only wish they didn’t use liquid smoke since it isn’t a great ingredient and I doubt dogs really would mind it not being there. Other than that, nice quality and ingredients.
I have been buying these treats for my three 8-lb poodles for years and have started several other people using them. However, the last three bags I have opened (and maybe more that I haven’t opened) are laced with fish bones.
I cut the jerky sticks up into small pieces for my dogs, and these new bags are difficult to cut due to the small, sharp fish bones. I don’t want these in my dogs’s stomachs as some of the hard, sharp pieces are over 1/8” long, so I use tweezers to try to pick out the bone fragments as I am afraid they could harm my small pooches.
Time to switch to another brand that is not trying to sell me fish bones for a treat.

The flavor and texture are reliably good. The price for wild caught is excellent. We mostly use it for salmon salad for sandwiches, or mixed with pasta. We also make salmon patties for a quick, easy and satisfying entree.
Im always watching for good quality, sustainable/responsible products that are reasonably priced. This fits the bill!.
My Husband loves KIRKLAND boneless, skinless,, wild Alaska pink salmon. He says it helps settle his stomach, when nothing else will. He ACTUALLY enjoys this product very much. The only problem is I can’t stand the smell of it.
The taste is ok for pinks. I lived in Alaska for 22yr and because the other species of salmon are so much better, nobody who lives there eats pinks. They consider them trash fish. They flood the Kenai every other year and people throw them back.
Only the commercial fishermen keep them. There is nothing wrong with pinks, I just find it humorous the people in the lower 48 think they are the best. Until you’ve had a fresh King salmon on the the grill, you really miss out on whatgood salmon taste like.
Oh and that so called wild Atlantic salmon you see in most stores, is nothing but farmed fish fed a lot of crap and dyes. Don’t , don’t buy it. As far as this product, it’s at least the real deal, even if it ain’t silvers, reds or kings.

Weve bought this product for years and have never been disappointed in the quality. The price has risen and the quantity has been reduced from the original two lbs. to one and one quarter lbs. , but the taste and freshness has remained excellent.
A friend of mine goes out and catches albacore tuna commercially. They bring it home and can it under their own name. I have bought a case of it and it is very good. But not that much better, in my opinion, than Kirkland albacore.
There’s is very expensive but not that much better for the money. I buy it as a treat every now and then but for a staple. I always buy Kirkland brand albacore tune.
Tuna for some reason when I go back home to Hawaii is very expensive canned. This is the best value that I can find on Oahu at Costco. The quality of the tuna is very good, there are no scary parts, and it doesn’t have that terrible fishy smell that a lot of canned tuna can have.
Each can has big chunks and I use it in a variety of dishes from casseroles, to sandwiches and spreads.

We like this product, great for baked and fried fish. Haven’t been able to buy it from Sam’s for most of the past year. Pollak is our second choice so we’ve been buying individual sealed wrap frozen Pollak from other local stores at a lower price per pound which has a much smaller amount of water content which adds to the value of buying Pollack from other local stores.
We like a mild flavor flaky white fish and find tilapia and catfish to be equally disgusting but any other fish Sam’s does sell isn’t a good option for our home fish fry interests and nothing we’ve purchase from Sam’s Club for our home fish fry meals is useable to us unless we buy our frozen fish preferences from other local stores.
I was buying cod from Sam’s for several years and it was usually Atlanric cod loins – an excellent product, originally produced in Iceland. It was extra white, tender and absolutely delicious. My recent purchase turned out to be Pacific cod loins product of China, fish had grey coating, less juicy and sort of chewy.
Does not taste as good as Atlantic cod from Iceland, in the past Atlantoc cod cooked with butter and lemon was divine. Tasted better than lobster.
I have purchased the Members Mark Frozen Pacific Cod Loins many times. My past experiences were great and the product was excellent. My last purchase was terrible and the individually wrapped loins were garbage.
5 of the 9 loins in the package were inedible. It was as if they were all gristle.

My husband is on a strict diet and his meats are limited to wild caught fish. He likes the salmon but we just recently discovered the Member’s Mark Mahi Mahi and he really enjoyed it. However, we can’t seem to get it right now and are awaiting its return.
I just pan seared it in a little olive oil with some seasonings. Quick, easy, doesn’t smell as strong as salmon and is very good.
I cook Mahi regularly. I used to be very pleased with this purchase but tonight I cooked 4 portions and my filet had two worms. After confirming on google that it is in fact worms and Mahi are susceptibile to parasites.
I live mahi mahi and have bought this many times over the last 2 years. It was a great product until a couple months ago. The last 2 bags that I have bought turned out to be really fishy tasting. I mean catfood fishy.
I’ve tried everything and can’t get past the awful fishy flavor. Ive cooked from frozen, thawed under water, thawed overnight in the fridge, cooked in a sauce, blackened, nothing works anymore. I’m not sure if the way it’s processed and frozen has changed or if this is just a bad batch but this mahi is no longer edible.

If you like less offensive, less pungent, and more mild tasting fish, this is the fish for you! It’s firm yet flaky, and takes on most dry seasoning like a champ. I give them a swipe with some melted butter on a pastry brush, then I gave them a light dusting of “Slap yo’ Mama” seasoning.
Then I air fried them in my gas oven for 10-15 minutes. Just perfect. I also like that they don’t make your whole house stink. They almost have the texture of a chicken tenderloin once baked. I was impressed with the quality, and will be back for more.
Don’t forget a squeeze of fresh lemon. A tasty summer salad accompaniment. Great on a grill pan too. Yum!.
The Mahi Mahi fillets are delicious! They taste fresh and the size is perfect. I try to keep these in my freezer when they are in season. My husband grills them on our stove top with a little salt and pepper.
Squeeze a little fresh lemon and you have a very delicious meal!.

Try baking these salmon fillets after topping with butter, salt, pepper and dill, or prepare in a skillet with a teriyaki sauce and enjoy over sushi rice.
Every product that carries the Good and Gather name starts with quality ingredients that deliver great taste, making it easier for you and your family to eat well, every day.
I gave one star for the lack of transparency in packaging design and item description. I purchased these with Drive Up so I couldn’t have known that the filets have the skin still on them which grossed me out to no end.
I will not cook these with the skin on them. Normally I buy frozen filets from Aldi that are skinless but they’ve been out of stock on those for at least a year so I thought I’d try these. Do not buy these if you don’t like skin on your filets.
It is not disclosed on the package or in the item description. I wouldn’t have wasted my money if I’d known the skin was still on.
My husband and I both enjoyed this Salmon. We have a fresh fish market within walking distance from our home but when the price of fresh Salmon hit $20 a lb I took a chance on this farm raised frozen target brand.
Upon opening after defrosting there was no fishy smell it was plump and glistening. I baked in oven for about 12 min with vegan butter ,garlic, honey and s&p then broiled for a few minutes to finish.
The skin on really helps to keep the fish moist. Definitely will purchase again.
It’s a bit pricy and the portions look small, but it’s exactly how a 3 or 4 oz fish fillet should look like. It defrosts in about 30 minutes and cooks up nicely – rub the flesh with the seasoning of your preference (I like Seafood Magic and Old Bay), cook skin side down for 90% of the cooking time and cook skin side up for the remaining 10% in a nonstick pan if you have it.
Internal temp should be 145 degrees F. Salmon is naturally fatty so you don’t need much oil, if any. Was very tasty with rice and beans, wish I bought a second bag so that I could make more fish, but I’ll remember it for next time.
This is the best Salmon I have ever had! It is restaurant qualify! It cooks very fast and depending on the temperature about 8 to 10 minutes. I simply heat a pan and add some butter, then place the Salmon face down.
I let it cook a short while then flip it over and sometimes add a little more butter, seasonings & often a small amount of water (but you don’t have to), then cover the pan and let it cook further. I either serve it on it’s own for dinner, or divide it in two for a pasta-style dish or salad.
It’s very flakey and tastes like butter with almost a similar consistency. There is very little if any fishy taste and it’s just delicious! A 5 star rating from me.
The salmon is quite good and cooks up easily on the stove top. However, from the hosts’ comments, I was expecting the best salmon I have ever had and was somewhat disappointed. I actually would have given this product a 4 star, except for the shrimp.
They had a wonderful crunchy breading, but the shrimp themselves are mushy and the “feel” is off-putting. Won’t order either product again.
Okay. I am 73 years old and the only fish I eat until the virus was lobster. Well guess what? I ordered five types of fish when the virus started because there was no food in the stores and I was too old to wait in line at the big box stores.
The last fish I got was the salmon. They are delicious. Need I say more. They don’t stink up the house and they don’t taste like fish. Put lemon and vinegar on it. The best part of all this is that I went to the doctor today and I have lost ten pounds.
I couldn’t believe it but its true. I think its because I’ve been eating so much fish. They aren’t very high in calories and they fill you up. I just wish the fish products weren’t so expensive. Highly recommended.

First time I tried it, it floated at the top. The big fish got first dibs, and as they ate, pieces began to break away and the rest began to eat, then it fell to the back of the tank where they swam around as if to frantically say “what happened to it!” Not sure if there’s a reason for frozen bricks, but with later feedings I used a plastic measuring cup, a little tank water, turkey baster (usually used for removing debris), let the cube dissolve, then squirt it over the top of the water.
I’ve never seen such universal agreement over something. They go crazy every time. It’s incredible. Easy described as mania. The dwarf gouramis, tetras, various danios and killifish all go bonkers for it every time.
It’s a feeding frenzy. I’m gonna have to keep buying this. Very recommended.
These are such a great product and I really love the ease of having them in the individual little pop out pieces. It makes life so easy when I am able to grab a little cup and pop these in, scoop some fish water from the tank into it then let it thaw out then dump it into the tank and let the fishies go crazy!.
