20 Best Fridge For Large Family (2023 Updated)

I live in a modular home and this fits perfectly in my smaller kitchen, yet, has tons of room. I love how there is no bending down to try and get the bottom shelf clean. There’s no missing items that you forgot about in the back of the fridge that have gone bad.

You can see every level. The drawers are nice and offer a decent amount of room. There is humidity control over both drawers for my fruits and veggies. The doors have a nice amount of room, a gallon of milk easily fits there, along with juice and condiments.

The bottom drawer (freezer) has 2 shelves, or drawers in it. The bottom has a divider, the top drawer is not. They slide easily in and out. The temperature control is all digital, and located at the top of the refrigerator.

Easy to clean shelves and drawers. The double doors are easy and convenient.

My wife and I are so happy with our new Galanz – 16 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator! It looks excellent in our downstairs basement. The storage capacity is amazing, much bigger than expected. We love the deep holders on both side of the doors and the large shelf space.

Installation was quick and simple. We were in need of a new fridge because we love deep in the woods we’re in the winter it’s not always easy to get to the grocery store so we stock up our fridge and freezer ahead of time.

The inside has led lighting so it’s easy to see what your grabbing from the fridge. The freezer has a double pull out drawer for extra storage as well. Overall this refrigerator is outstanding and I would absolutely recommend to everyone!.

I am beyond excited for my new Refrigerator!!! I got a 16cu. ft French Door Refrigerator, name brand Galanz!! Its the perfect size for my kitchen, I have never had a Fridge with french doors and the freezer is on the bottom, plenty of room in the fridge and freezer for our groceries!! I love it, If your looking for a new fridge this is the one for you.

My wife and I bought the black stainless version of the same fridge. Overall I’m impressed and like our new fridge, especially the energy saving features, the power cool/power freeze, and the fact the walls are thinner and the same size (within 1 inch) of our old 22CF fridge, but there were a couple of key features lacking.

I would have rated this 5 stars, however the things I did not like about this: 1) Annoying: The in-door ice maker bin is smaller than our freezer-shelf based ice maker in the old freezer, but having the extra shelf space is nice.

I don’t see the “takes too long” symptoms that others complain about how long it takes to make ice. 2) Annoying: Adjustable shelves would have been nice 3) REALLY BAD: You can’t change the water filter without shutting off the water source to the fridge first! Come on, my cheaper Maytag fridge this replaced, had a solenoid between the water source and the filter, so you could remove the filter without shutting off the water.

Come on Samsung!! The rest of my complaints are with the dispenser area (annoying also): A) The dispenser area has absolutely NO LIGHT. Samsung could have at least installed a LED light or some light source when you’re filling your cup, you can’t see how much ice you have in your cup B) The dispenser opening is too large for some small cups like kids cups or water jugs (32-40 oz), and it’s hard to dispense ice without a middle-step of putting them in a larger cup first.

C) The water comes out too far forward from the paddle (the water tube is at the front of the opening toward the front of the fridge, compared to how deep the paddle is to activate it). Results in water spilled on the front of the fridge or the floor.

This is especially an issue with kids cups or those water jugs just mentioned. Overall, aside from adjusting to the annoyances above and the water filter thing, I love our new fridge. My wife and child convinced me to get one with the tablet (Family Hub) and we love it.

The tablet I use with our AnyList app to display recipes or recipes from the web. I already had a shopping list app so I don’t use the Samsung ones provided, but it’s web enabled so that’s ok. I really wish Samsung would allow other android-enabled apps to be installed so we could have AnyList on there.

Have had it about a month and love love it. Had a side by side years ago and remember loving the ‘new’ French Door type then–my French Door was technically larger, (an LG that failed in only 3 years – we didn’t buy the extended warranty.

) But THIS side by side seems to have a better use of space. It lets me see more things in the freezer than my french door’s big deep hole of a freezer. I did buy some clear plastic boxes I can pull out with say, condiments, and a couple of little drawers (for garlics, and string cheese, boiled eggs etc.

) that helps me make better use of this fridge as it is rather monotonous in having only 2 bottom drawers (that I use for veggies/fruits and cheeses) and shelves that are mostly the same dimension. I was worried about not being able to adjust the shelves or door bins, but alas, the door bins on the bottom fit 2 1 gallon milks (and some smaller items) just fine, AND they are tall enough to put a wine bottle in too.

So no complaints there. THEN the “family hub” is really amazing and I do use it already a lot. Love the time and weather showing up on it and that it “knows” when you pass by to light up. We use the calendar, and the Alexa which I don’t normally like to have in my house.

The “Alexa – add milk to my grocery list” is awesome so I never write it any more and my list is always accessible when I am at the store. The camera to look inside isn’t all that useful though. It only shows you one or two shelves, so if you keep the things you might want to visualize on those 2 shelves, great, but it’s more of a gimmick I think.

We have had one or two instances of the screen doing strange things as if somebody was pushing buttons (and they weren’t) so the jury is still out on the stability of the computer, but I am keeping my fingers crossed it is minor and nothing goes wrong for this during the period we THIS TIME bought the extended warranty, as I do love it a lot! P.

S. the side by side was one of the lesser expensive items that had the Family Hub and in the larger size by the way too!.

Before purchasing I read the reviews about ice spewing everywhere and laughed. I’m not laughing any more. Unless you shove your glass right up against the bottom of the dispenser, ice flies everywhere.

No matter whether you choose ‘cubed’ or ‘crushed’ ice, you get the same mix of both, all over you and your kitchen. The water dispenser is too far forward and you cannot fill your glass one-handed. You must hold the glass under the dispenser with one hand and push on the top of the dispenser paddle with the other.

It’s great if you have a Yeti tumbler or something, but not so much for regular glassware. The water, like the ice, spits out everywhere. Expect to be constantly be wiping water from the dispenser area.

We very specifically asked and were told that this model had lights in the dispenser area, but it does NOT. Another annoyance. The freezer doesn’t seem to keep items consistently frozen. I keep finding items at just the beginning of softening, and then a few hours later they’re frozen hard again.

Boxes have a musty smell to them after a few days in the freezer, which cannot be a good sign. I’m so frustrated with these issues in a brand new fridge and I’m going to really upset if I require service so soon.

The side-by-side is nice because we have a family member who can’t bend over. The bins and shelves are small, but I guess that can’t be avoided in this style. I do wish the shelves pulled out, as that would make accessing the lower shelves more convenient.

All in all, based in the performance of my specific fridge, I would not recommend this model.

I did not think I wanted French doors but I had to have a bottom freezer. Sales rep really worked had with us to get most of what we wanted. We must have ‘old’ tastes as we wanted a Bisque color, bottom freezer DOOR (not drawer), no ice maker or water, and single door refrig.

This purchase is a testament to the skill and patience of the sales rep. He did listen to what we wanted to replace our 20+ year old Amana. Who knew that ‘styles’ in refrigerators change almost as much as shoes! This French Door Stainless refrigerator has incredible interior lighting and so much space! After unpacking our coolers, the new refrig looks like we haven’t shopped in weeks! I thought I’d not like the bottom freezer drawers, but I’m finding that there’s a lot more room than it looks empty and with planning (i.

e. , meats on left, vegetables on right) it isn’t hard to find what I’m looking for. The ice maker that comes in all refrigerators these days is not hooked up and is totally unobtrusive so we haven’t lost any freezer storage space and the sliding tray in the freezer has plenty of storage also for smaller things.

Sometimes getting what you didn’t ask for is better than what you had and this is certainly the case with our new refrigerator. Runs quietly, digital temperature readings in the wall, bright light in the interior.

Shelves in the doors are spacious as is the pull out full width drawer. I’m glad we got this Samsung and I hope it lasts a long time so I don’t have to shop new style refrigerators again!.

Everything is really great about this fridge – with the exception of delivery time (but can’t blame Samsung for this!), more on this below. We wanted a Large 27ft3+, “Non-Door Icemaker”, fridge with a bottom freezer (not a side by side) and this one has really fit the bill.

Our last fridge had the water & ice in the door and we found that that unit just took up way to much room in the fridge for our liking. Some may not like the space it takes up in the freezer section, but for us, since we have two upright and two chest freezers (3 of the 4 are 27ft3+) we have ample room to give up most of the time (if you are wondering, one chest is for our cow, the other holds 3 pigs, the large upright holds homemade stocks, sausage, wild game, fruits, etc.

The 4th, smaller upright – 22 ft3 – holds veggies from our garden). Some of the things we really like about this fridge: the door shelves – they are huge – will hold 2-3 gals of milk (of course from our cow) depending on the containers used.

The ice bin which holds more than enough ice to get us through the day. The bottom bin, we had a 4 door French door fridge but we found that the center drawer took up a lot of space, this internal one not nearly as much – we kept the old one for comparing & extra space.

Finally, the amount of time for delivery. We bought this fridge from the orange box store, it was quite the wait for this fridge (almost 4 months if I recall). I don’t blame this on Samsung but totally on the orange box store – I found out about 30 days after I ordered that I could have gone straight to Samsung and had one in 2-3 weeks.

Unfortunately, the orange guys kept telling me it’s on the way or remember the restocking fee, etc so I just waited (thankfully, the old fridge was/is still working). Hope this helps!.

I love my new refrigerator! I was tired of “losing” things in my previous one and this one has much more space and better lighting. The produce bins are nice and large. The full width bottom drawer is perfect for smaller items.

The door bins are adjustable, ideal for tall items. It is extremely quiet, also a plus. I’m glad I went with a french door design. I put “quick grab” items on the side with the smaller door, hopefully to reduce energy use.

The door alarm is a great feature. I love the sleek look of it, and I’m glad I went without the water/ice dispenser on the exterior. I do miss the butter door I had on my previous refrigerator, but that is a minor issue.

I was very frustrated with Best Buy’s delivery. The first refrigerator arrived with a dent in one of the doors so I refused it. It took too long to get another one delivered. However, the delivery team for the second refrigerator was excellent and they were very careful, which I appreciate.

I have owned many refrigerators, and I really wanted to like this one. The design is decent Although the door that holds the ice seems very heavy and will slam if not closed with Care. But I like how large the shelves are and you can fit a big pizza box in it or something large on occasion.

I thought the freezer drawers seemed like a good design, But they are pretty shallow and you can’t fit much in there. We have an extra freezer in our garage that we rely heavily upon for larger items.

My one major complaint is that the fridge/freezer never seemed to work right from the get go. It made a lot of strange noises and I’m not sure it ever kept our food quite cold enough. It was very very noisy when it ran and it always sounded like its motor was struggling.

About a month ago, our two year old refrigerator freezer combo seemed to have kicked the bucket. We realized our ice was melting all over our floor from the ice maker area in the refrigerator door. It’s still getting power (we keep it plugged in so we can still use the filtered water), but it’s warmer inside than our house is now.

We’ve been waiting for a technician to come and look at it because the main components are still under warranty, But the wait is long and speaking with customer service is nearly fruitless. Very very very difficult to understand the customer service agents who sound like they are probably living in China and India amongst other places by their very broken English and terrible phone connections.

I even heard roosters crowing in one of my last conversations and I couldn’t understand or communicate properly so nothing ever came of these phone calls. So my biggest complaint would be that if you have problems with your product, the customer service is going to be very difficult to work with.

Hopefully one day I will get my fridge working again.

I bought this refrigerator in March 2019. It was a floor model so we did receive a discount and purchased the 5 year extended warranty. It worked well, has lots of space but could be loud at times when running.

Fast forward to November 2021. The ice started melting in the ice maker. I honestly thought it was just jammed which happens sometimes so I cleared the melted ice and placed a towel in the dispenser and went to bed.

The next day all the ice was now water, the freezer was warm and the refrigerator part was over 55 degrees. I used the LG ThinQ app to see what it said. Per the app everything was working fine with the refrigerator and was at the set temperature.

Occasionally the app said the refrigerator was in “Defrost Mode”. No error codes ever came on the refrigerator or the app. Guess the app isn’t the most reliable…unfortunately lost everything in the freezer and a lot of items from the refrigerator as well.

Thank goodness for extended warranties. They were able to schedule a LG technician the following week which was reasonable since of course the refrigerator broke right before Thanksgiving. He was very helpful and was able to fix the refrigerator the same day.

The compressor had to be replaced. It is now back in working order and this is the quietest the refrigerator has ever been. We think the compressor was probably faulty from the beginning based on how loud it was compared to now.

Hopefully this compressor keeps working for a long time. If you’re still reading this buy the extended warranty! They do not make refrigerators like they use to. It is also helpful to have a mini-fridge.

It was convenient that the refrigerator broke during Black Friday week so we bought a mini-fridge on sale. While setting up a time for service we were warned that they might have to order parts that would take an unknown amount of time for delivery.

Hence why we bought the mini-fridge since we had medicine that required a refrigerator. But it’s a very nice refrigerator when it works. And now it looks brand new since it was easier clean with nothing in it.

I bought this refrigerator a year ago to replace a 20 year old one that was still going strong. But I thought it was time for an upgrade. Pros – I love the layout especially that items are clearly visible on the refrigerator shelves.

Good, bright lighting inside. The wide, flat drawer is really useful and holds more than you’d expect. The adjustable drawer that folds out of the way for tall items is handy. The water filter does a good job of producing plenty of cold, good-tasting water.

Cons – It need a repair after about 10 months. The ice maker was not filling up with water so there was no ice. Turns out there was freezing inside the lines. A repair tech came twice. Finally, he had us empty and defrost it (that was annoying) and that did the trick.

I believe the problem was caused by a full freezer drawer that wasn’t perfectly sealed close while we went away for a week. So, now we are sure not to overfill the freezer drawers and are careful that nothing interferes with the freezer door seal.

(It was closed, just had a bit of a plastic bag between the drawer frame and drawer. ) The ice maker sometimes gets full on one side and that makes the unit stop making ice although the ice that is in there is very little and all stuck together.

You have to open it up and shake the ice tub. Not a big problem but can leave you without enough ice. Some of the lettering on the door is hard to read because it’s grey on silver. All in all, I like this refrigerator but I don’t think it will last 20 years.

Be sure to get the warranty.

This refrigerator will fail. It only comes with a 1 year warranty. They use cheap jiaxipera compressors that don’t last. The part wont be available if it does fail within warranty and youll be stuci waiting 30 days before the matter is escalated.

It’s not worth the hassle. All the good reviews are brand new units that actually work the first few weeks. The best part is if you go back to Best Buy to purchase a new refrigerator they won’t wave the $30 fee to haul away your old Insignia french door refrigerator thats 2 years old and failed that was purchased at BestBuy.

After reading other reviews it seems lucky it lasted that long. Look up the previous model Insignia 26. 6 french door refrigerator and all of the issues. I doubt anything changed other than ice and water dispenser located on the door now.

I have had this refrigerator for just over 1 year. Aside from the issues outlines below, the refrigerator works well and I like the space and the internal water dispenser. Unfortunately, I am currently dealing with the 2nd major issue I have had with it – and now it needs exchanged/replaced.

Just 1 month into owning it, my family and I went out of town for 7 days and came home to a flooded kitchen and hallway because the water line broke – it caused $2,000 worth of damage to our flooring and the runaround with the insurance was a joke.

The manufacturer wanted to just replace it instead of sending someone out to spend the 10 minutes it would take to just repair the water line. When I looked in the store and online, of course the refrigerator wasn’t in stock anywhere and because I got it on sale, they weren’t willing to give me the full value of it and wanted me to pay an extra $500-$600 for something comparable.

It took me over a month to convince them to send a Geek Squad repair person out to just fix the line, which took all of 30 minutes to do. About 8 months later I noticed the ice maker stopped working off and on and I was getting an error code that said E6 – which wasn’t anywhere in the manual.

If I turned the ice maker off then on again, it would clear and the ice would starting working again. Eventually around the 1 year mark, the ice maker stopped working completely so I called geek squad again to come look at it.

The arm of the ice maker was broken which could be fixed, but the code meant that the solenoid valve wasn’t working, so our freezer now wasn’t cooling properly which was a much bigger issue. Of course, they won’t send someone out to replace the part so here I am a year later, trying to find a new refrigerator because the only option is to exchange/replace it.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! It is cheap for a reason and you will NEVER get anyone out to actually fix anything without a huge fight.

Do not buy this fridge. While it is ok while it works, if anything goes wrong with it, you will be out of luck. I have been trying to buy a replacement door gasket for months as one of them warped (defective) and is no longer providing a seal, but I am out of the one year warranty by a couple months.

This fridge is still being sold new in stores and online; however, neither Insignia or Best Buy are able to source this part. They can’t even give me the true part number for me to try to find elsewhere.

Their part supplier, Encompass/PartsStore, is equally incapable to source a part. The only solution to this defective warped gasket is apparently to buy an entirely new fridge. That makes this product a terrible deal.

I love the stainless steel design, I really don’t care about the occasional smudges, they can be cleaned up easily. We’ve been enjoying the ice maker and water supply all summer. The ice maker works great, my wife and I use it frequently and it keeps up with our usage.

Sometimes I’ve noticed it makes some noise that I don’t know if it’s making more ice or it’s defrosting but it last just three to five minutes and I had to pay attention to hear it. It happens from time to time, I cannot even tell it’s once a week.

I wish the water supply can provide room temperture water but it only provide cold water which if you serve a lot in a short time it becomes less cold and when I say a lot I’m talking more than 65 floz (2L).

If you only want some glasses of water you’re always gonna get cold water. It has a function to “fast cool” that you can use when you just loaded it with food that you brought from the groceries store but spent too long in the car in the heat, you can activate this function and it will cool everything faster for 24 hours and then go back to normal cooling temperature.

The only minor complain I have is the tray where the ice and water is served, it can be removed but the system is very tricky, I had to look for a video online on how to do this. The problem is that the mechanism requires some force to remove it and if you want to remove it because you spilled water on the tray then you can end up spilling the water on the floor.

I’d really like to know the thought process of the person that designed that system for a tray since it doesn’t make any sense to me because the only time you want to remove the tray is to clean something you spilled on the tray.

The workaround: just clean the tray in place, don’t try to remove it. Overall, it’s a great refrigerator, after three months of use we love it.

I was shocked how much difference the french drawer refrigerator makes with easily accessing everything. I really like having all my veggies (what I use most) at countertop height, not having to bend down to hint through the drawers on the bottom.

I am surprised how much I like the bottom drawer of the refrigerator. I use the bottom drawer for eggs, cheese, butter and meats. I did remove the narrow shelf next to the icemaker because it was useless and I needed that space for tall bottles.

The water and ice dispenser is good and tall for tall insulated glasses but the lock button is too prominently positioned and it shuts off the cooling. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the excessively loud icemaker, the delicate stainless steel front and the ugly painted finish on the sides.

The stainless steel front dings easily and it takes a bit extra wiping to get a smear-free finish when cleaning. The complaint about the ugly painted finish is primarily the amount of money on the stainless steel finish upcharge and it is only on the doors.

My refrigerator has cabinets on one side and a matching wood panel on the other but there is still a good 6″ of weird gray textured sides exposed. I don’t know if the freezer handle will be an issue down the road but it seems to have too much movement in it.

I feel that the freezer handle should be more rigid.

This wasn’t the refrigerator I actually wanted, but my old one died, and with supply-chain issues, this was the one I could get with the features I wanted in less than six months. I’m learning to live with it, but it has a few gremlins.

No matter how I set the temperature, the food in the back of the refrigerator gets much colder or even freezes while the food up front stays a normal temp. I haven’t gotten the water line hooked up yet.

(Can’t get a plumber right now, either), but water will randomly drip onto the bottom of the water dispenser in the door. I have NO idea where it’s coming from. And the freezer drawer doesn’t always shut the whole way, even if you think it has.

I learned this the hard way; I came down one morning, tried to open the freezer drawer, and it was frozen shut. With some judiciously-applied force and swearing, I got it open, but it looked like winter was coming in my freezer.

It got progressively worse over the next three days until I had time to deal with it, at which point I had to unplug the entire refrigerator and let it thaw enough to get the drawer open, then pull the ice out with my hands.

It was like scraping your car in the middle of winter with no gloves and no scraper. It sucked. For a refrigerator bought in desperation during a pandemic, with supply-chain issues, though, it could be a lot worse.

We’ve always had Samsung appliances and have rarely had issues with them, which is why it’s so disappointing to have to write this review. We ordered this fridge when our old one started leaking from the water filter holder.

We decided to upgrade to a model that had an external water and ice dispenser, and this was on sale with pretty good reviews, so we took the plunge. Delivery and setup was great. The team came on time and connected everything.

We ran into problems once the fridge started settling in. I had read some pretty dicey things about Samsung and its history with ice makers, but was under the impression that the issues had been resolved a couple of years ago.

Not sure if this was just a bad unit, but the ice bucket refused to stay locked in its housing. It constantly pushed out as the bucket filled up and I had to push it back in multiple times a day to avoid the ice melting and clumping together.

After doing this for a week, I called Samsung to see what they could do. They gave me instructions on how to properly seat the ice bucket, which I followed. The solve worked for less than a day. With all this frustration and hearing some rattling from the fan, I decided to exchange it for a comparable LG model.

The irony is that there’s a sticker on the ice maker that says it has a 2 year quality warranty. The refrigerator and freezer were great, and overall I’m still happy with Samsung as an appliance maker, but will definitely steer clear of their refrigerators until they can get their act together and produce properly functioning ice makers.

Everything works, from a functional point of view, the unit does its job. With any Samsung kitchen product, it is important that you register it with them for the purpose of the warranty. Even the service providers who perform repairs gripes about how Samsung will tell the customer that the item is covered under warranty and the service provider is then told that the repair is not covered.

I had to jump through hoops and a lot of back and forth, to get service for unit which was only 9 months old. Even the production date was less than a year and still Samsung had me scan the purchase receipt, it was so infuriating and delays that I decided to pay the service company for their visit to get my problem fixed.

All this because I did not register it with their very invasive registration process. These items may only affect my expectations of this refrigerator:The design for the purpose of my use is really lacking: 1.

Some shelves are fixed and cannot be disassembled. When something spills, it runs into the fixed shelf crevices and it takes a lot of effort to remove it. 2. The movable shelves are very limited as to how they can be configured.

3. The ice tray, you can’t remove the entire ice tray to empty it all at once.

I have had so many problems with this fridge. Ice maker keeps jamming up with ice. it eventually failed. Had to purchase a new module to get it going again. as for the fridge, the back panel where the coils and fan is located keeps freezing up.

had service guy in 6 times for this same problem, he kept changing parts and saying, give it a try, then had to call him again and repeat and repeat to eventually run out of warranty. so now every 3 months or so, i have to thaw the fridge, remove back panel, dry it all out and make sure the drain hold is flowing correctly and then i repeat every 3 months.

Oh, to last 3 month i had to turn the ice maker off or it would not last more than a month. it’s just a bad design where the ice maker is located in the fridge and they keep making this darn fridge still, the internet is loaded with comments about my exact problem and tips and tricks to try to fix it but it doesn’t work.

i contacted samsung directly, well that was a waste of time, basically just to get a service guy in, euh no, at 250$ minimum for a visit, no i’m done with that and samsung. Not saying other brands are better or worst but i’ve also had other issues with samsung with stove and dishwasher.

conclusion is, if you like have to do service calls, buy this fridge, if not move one to something else like i’m doing right now.

The left door shuts too hard and fast on its own— you have to hold it (pulling back on it) as it closes to help soften the close and prevent anything from breaking. The right door does not close on its own— you have to hold it and push it forward so that it will close.

The refrigerator is level from side to side. Both doors are aligned, though the left door cannot go any lower and the right door cannot go any higher (if different, future adjustments are ever needed).

The refrigerator leans back quite a bit. The leveling feet located at the front of the unit are not engaged with the floor (which is level). If they were to be interacting with the floor the unit would be leaning back even further.

This would cause the left door to shut even harder and faster than it does currently. If the unit is tilted more to the front, that would cause the right door to close even less than it does currently.

The left door hinge area does not have the white, plastic piece that the right door hinge area does. Perhaps this is missing? All inside drawers have handles on the bottom as opposed to the top. This is especially problematic for the lower drawers (in the freezer) as it forces you to bend over even further to be able to reach the handles.

The clear bottom drawer in the refrigerator spans the entire width of the refrigerator instead of being two separate drawers. This is problematic because you have to open both doors to be able to pull open the drawer just to get a stick of butter.

Door shelves cannot be adjusted. Did not include egg holder.

Real reveiw-not a promotion or fake. I really dislike this fridge. While it functions as it should so far the layout leaves a lot to be desired. The door bins are huge and and deep – your stuff will clang around and swim and you will have to angle taller bottles to get them out due to the other bins interfering.

The shelf heights are low. You will barely fit a water jug and a 2L pop. Compared to regular depth you will really have to think and prioritize what you want to have refrigerated. If you like fresh vegetables-avoid this fridge.

The crispers are small and shallow. You will NOT fit a head of lettuce, full cauliflower and a few crowns of broccoli for example. So if you like frequent trips to the grocers due it might be okay. Or if you plan and organize your meals and know exactly what you will be using for example.

Regarding space saving in your kitchen- it’s minimal. About 4 inches. Who cares. What are you going to do with 4″ x 35 ” extra space? I find the bright bright stainless steel to be an eyesore. It screams for attention.

The quality is subpar for the plastic and it jangles, gets caught up and wiggles around a lot and feels flimsy. My old fridge was thicker and more sturdy plastic with better guides and rollers. Oh well- too late now.

Listen to your instincts and get a regular depth. Avoid this trend and note the positive review are “part of a promotion”.

Reviewed a lot of products in this category of feature/price. Reviews were positive. And we narrowed it down and finally chose this model. We’ve had it 4 weeks. First of all, it works perfectly. Temperates are steady as a rock.

We’ve been used to a 42″ side-by-side and the layout of the French doors is absolutely wonderful. I wish the freezer section was a bit larger but I’d rather the refrigerator section be larger so you have to make trade-offs in this size (plus we have counter depth).

It’s well lit, I know that’s simple but there were some brands were this wasn’t the case, surprisingly. As with any appliance, there are trade-offs but overall, we’re happy. Perhaps the only recommendations is the veggie drawers and large width center drawer could be a little more ‘hefty’ feeling, these feel just a little to light and flimsy.

But don’t mistake that word for not good, but LG could beef up those parts and it would make a big difference in the feel, that would be the main difference between 4 starts and 5 – but again, in the category and for the price – 5 Stars.

We’ve enjoyed this LG French door refrigerator for nearly two weeks. It is a positive change from our previous LG side-by-side refrigerator. There is definitely more room in the refrigerator section and the moveable shelves allow me to tailor the space to meet my needs.

The freezer section is perhaps slightly smaller than out previous fridge, but we have a small chest freezer as well. Features: *We did not seek two ice makers but have really enjoyed having the freezer ice maker as well as the ice/water dispenser in the door.

*There is a drawer for deli items that goes the full width of the fridge. I love the spaciousness, but dislike having to open both doors to pull this drawer out. This feature exists in other French door refrigerators as well.

The only way to avoid it would be to buy a refrigerator with two drawers: a freezer drawer and a separate refrigerator drawer. *Lighting in both the refrigerator and freezer is excellent. *Temperatures seem to be true to the settings or even a little bit colder.

*The WiFi feature was not important to me. We live in a rural area and in spite of several attempts to connect the fridge with my phone, it doesn’t stay connected. *The exterior is stainless steel and really does seem more impervious to finger prints that our previous stainless steel fridge.

*Our previous LG fridge lasted 17 years. We’re hoping for the same with this new one!.

Purchased this French door Refrigerator on 12/21/21. This is our 1st French Door Fridge. Previously had Side-by-Side 27 Cu Ft. Concerned the LG 26 cu ft fridge might be too small – not the case. With the shallower depth, the LG fridge feels like more cu ft – can see everything better instead of hunting behind.

Specific features that we love: (1) Adjustable Crispers, keep all veggies and fruit perfect; (2) Lower full-width drawer in fridge portion makes everything easily accessible and keeps the meat and cheeses at perfect temp and humidity (NO CONDENSATION that can cause mold); (3) The 2 Ice Makers are perfect for our needs.

The Upper In-door ice maker makes plenty of ice and is just right for our day-to-day use. The Freezer ice maker provides a large volume of ice when we have guests. We had 4 visitors staying with us over the holidays and there was always plenty of ice for dinners, drinks and partying.

SERVICE EXCELLENCE: The local appliance store (Spencer’s Appliances) installer could not get the right front leveling foot to drop down and work correctly. Spencer’s claims they contacted LG to send a tech to fix the leveling foot – nothing happened for 3 weeks.

LG just sent me the “Review” e-mail with customer support phone number. I called, explained the situation to customer service rep (Ford) and he immediately set up an “LG Tech” to come to our home in a few days to fix the “leveling foot”.

Ford was courteous and pleasant with only positive-helpful responses – one of the best Customer Service experiences that I have had in a long time. I have also purchased an LG Microwave and an LG Oven, I feel very reassured that any issues with these other appliances will be fixed promptly by LG! Thank you LG, any time we need any home product, we will look for LG – you have won a CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!!!!.

Overall I am happy with the refrigerator. There are a few things that bug me: 1) Very limited number of available shelf positions 2) Inability to change the positions of the shelves on the doors. If the shelves were more customizable I would have given it another star.

3) Unable to fully open either of the 2 side-by-side drawers without opening both doors of the refrigerator. Which loses cold air much quicker. 4) The bottom drawer of the refrigerator doesn’t seem like it was designed by an engineer or tested by anyone who uses a refrigerator.

First issue with it, you can’t open it more than a single inch without opening both refrigerator doors. Second issue is it is incredibly deep for its height of about 3″ so you are unable to see what is in it without opening everything all the way up.

It has a nice top piece that covers the drawer so stuff can’t fall/spill into it and allows you to see about the first 5 inches deep into the shelf. However, you are unable to flip the cover up. If you could you could sneak things in and out of it by only opening a single door.

Besides those engineering mysteries we do really like the refrigerator. Makes plenty of ice in the door and in the freezer so we have never ran out of ice. The ThinQ app lets me know when it is time to change the water filter and the air filter which is so nice.

Disappointed. Poorly designed as far as space in the shelves and…. : You need to open both doors to get something from the the drawer. Ice maker is in the fridge , not in a freezer compartment. Thus every time you open the fridge it helps ice to melt and form big chunks.

Water is not chilled ( no reservoir like in the older models. ) Ice is always splattering from the dispenser on the floor. The display board above the dispenser has a definition which makes you feel something is wrong with your eyes.

You never know when you load your freezer if you be able to close it because it is a drawer ! The plastic wrapping of the appliance impossible to be removed unless you are willing to devote 2 hours and be super gentle while doing it with some sharp tool.

I had a repair man come twice already ( a month after purchase ) to address open seal of the freezer door.

Less than one year ago, after much deliberation and reading reviews, we decided on purchasing a Frigidaire refrigerator. Within 6 months, the fridge started making a loud noise. We called to have it repaired said it would take at least 2 weeks to have someone come out.

In the meantime, this noise was increasing and unbearable. My husband was able to fix the problem with a zip tie. We haven’t even owned the fridge for 1 year and the frames that hold the rollers for the drawers and the drawers where the wheels screw into are broken.

Apparently, this is cosmetic and Frigidaire doesn’t care. If I want the fridge to function properly, I get to pay for those things myself (which I wouldn’t do because it’s a poor design). If I could, I would take the fridge back to where I purchased it from.

Started out pretty good. Then loud grinding noise from the rear. Was under warranty so made the appointment with repair guy. It had also started to display error code SY EF, which I learned was an error with the evaporative fan.

Service guy was pretty good and found that the evaporative fan had come off the motor. He had to order a new fan and also a new light switch for the door as one of them had gone out. He glued the plastic blade on the shaft which is still holding.

The fan replacement came and before we could contact the repair service to have it installed, the refrigerator started to loose cooling. When the repair guy showed up he checked it and turned out the fan which moves cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator had gone out ” Whole new problem”.

Now we are waiting for the arrival of the new motor so we can have it installed. So far this is the worst purchase we have ever made.

We’ve had (Sears) Whirlpool products all our married life without complaint. The one refrigerator we just traded for was 22 years old. I just don’t see us liking this one as much but hope it proves us wrong and lasts at least half as many years.

Partly our fault as we ordered without being able to see one in person. Low stock everywhere in this area. I would advise others to be sure to check out the model they choose in person. The issues below explain our 3 star rating.

First off, why can’t such a large refrigerator have a larger ice supply? Secondly, we don’t like having to switch from water to ice then press the lever for one as dual spouts seems easier/quicker. As this point the other selection features on the spout area seem too time consuming and unnecessary for us.

As for the freezer compartment, we are pretty disappointed. First off, it’s hard to tell if the front drawer is actually closed as it isn’t completely flush with the front drawers above it. There’s narrow space in each area which is limiting us from storing very big items anywhere in the freezer.

My husband feels we had more storage in our previous side by side. In the bottom section, we have to be so careful not to cover the vent at the back on each section, again limiting space due to the pizza section at the front and the middle dividers.

The 2 drawers above it have flimsy handles and are so shallow we wish we would have chosen a model with one deep basket instead. There should be an option to remove one or both drawers in the freezer (also for cleaning) and perhaps choose or special order one deep drawer replacement.

The little alarm when something is left open is not loud enough to be heard from any distance or perhaps should get louder as it progresses. In our case, a top door was open for several hours while we in the next room and we never heard the alarm until we went back into the kitchen.

Depending on how it holds up over time is how we might or might not recommend to our friends. At this point, I would point out the things above that I wish I would have read about before choosing this refrigerator then let our friends decide for themselves.

All in all, for such a big price and the inconvenience of return after use, we will adjust to these features and just hope we get good service from this model for many years. Should there be any way we can exchange the 2 narrow freezer drawers for one large drawer, we would appreciate being notified.

We bought this fridge a couple weeks ago and it arrived with a dent in the front fridge drawer, other than that great fridge love it. Delivery men from Best Buy did not remove the plastic so it wasn’t noticed until after they were gone.

Trying to get someone on the phone from Best Buy took hours after being transferred over and over. After 4 hours on the phone finally received an email that says they are sending the part, that was on 11-24 but no indication of when the part will arrive and not another word since then.

Even tried calling Whirlpool service to get contract info from them but no one ever answered the phone so disappointing. The fridge is great customer service from Best Buy sucks you get no help at the store level after the sale and i cant tell you about Whirlpool service as I never got to talk to anyone there.

Case in point after my first hour on the phone i gave up and drove to the store they were no help at all just gave me a different phone number. I drove to the store because you can not call a Best Buy store anymore.

There was also a dent on the side but it is not that visible. I am assuming since I have not heard a word about a shipment is that that part is most likely on a boat. I would love to hear from somebody from Whirlpool but I do not know how to contact anyone.

If it wasn’t for the dent and the nonexistent customer service this fridge would get 5 stars easily as I am happy with the quality, features, performance, sound level and capacity. Sound level i gave 3 stars as it is average we had a Maytag before with the same sound level.

it is in an open concept house so you do hear it run and make and drop ice but they all make those noises and i do not feel this fridge is any louder than our 12 year old Maytag was. Maytag went to basement as a beer fridge? Love everything else about this appliance.

Unit is a little over a year old and has required extensive service. icemaker & several fans replaced. Working much better after replacement parts, but still won’t consistently keep ice cream hard, ice comes out wet even after icemaker replaced, standing water (Guess condensate) on top shelf in refrigerator.

Nobody knows what the settings on the upper drawer do including the service techs and they can’t find out. I was smart enough to purchase the max extended warranty but that will only help for 5 years.

Oddly the 25 year old Kenmore that this unit replaced is running strong in garage so that’s were we keep the ice cream. Suggestion: make the vegetable drawers arrangeable. the middle drawer is perfect for eggs or frequently used items, but both doors must be opened to access it, letting all the cold air spill out.

It should be moveable to the right side so you only need to open one door. Center door seal needs to be redesigned the techs told us not to open the left door without first opening the right door or the seal will wear out prematurely.

This thing is way to expensive to be this disappointing. So very sorry I bought this over priced wanna be refrigerator. Actually if it had no problems it wouldn’t be over that over priced. Checking out class action law suits.

because I can’t imagine this thing lasting very long, the warrantee will run out & being on a fixed income I can’t afford a new one.

The black stainless steel finish is absolutely beautiful! It’s such an eye catcher in my kitchen. I’ve always wanted a bottom drawer freezer and there’s good amount of space in the fridge and freezer especially when you use storage bins.

Even though people say the screen is a gimmick, while this may be for most, it comes in handy for me since majority of my home is smart. Just one of many examples, I’m cooking in the kitchen and when someone is at my door, I’m a couple steps away from my fridge to see or answer my Ring doorbell.

It also has Alexa built-in so that’s a huge PLUS. Also, if you were to tell me years ago that I’d be listening to music on my fridge while cooking, I would have laughed. The soundbar sounds pretty good! I can keep going about the pros.

Now for the cons: 1) water dispenser leaks after getting ice, kind of a nuisance but the pros outweigh this for me 2) crushed ice dispenses SLOW but it works 3) a light on the dispenser would have been nice (c’mon Samsung, every thing has LEDs now a days) but not a deal breaker.

My #1 complaint is not towards the fridge but BestBuy’s delivery, it took 3 weeks and 5 attempts to get this fridge to my second floor kitchen b/c I have a tight stairway and some of the delivery guys that came out are not very smart and one crew couldn’t get my old fridge down the stairs and another crew didn’t even try and laughed at me while trying to convince them my fridge would fit (my old fridge was the same size as this one).

The last crew (only 2 guys) actually listened to me word for word as I explained how to get the fridges up/down my stairs and they were able to with no problem so buyer beware if you have tight hallways/stairs, you may get the wrong delivery crew.

We bought this Samsung smart fridge and it was able to be shipped the very next day before the shortages and delays spiked. We’ve had this fridge for almost a year now and I absolutely love seeing it every single day, it plays music, holds beautiful pictures of my family, and helps me understand our family’s schedule and weather along with news or anything else I want to be connected to.

I appreciate the Spotify plug and Youtube for our little toddler to watch while I cook. I can also ask Bixby to change the channel or play videos in our living room as it works seamlessly with our Smart TVs! Awesome hub! Finally, I love the smart camera feature to see what I have inside while at the store so I can understand if we need more milk or eggs, silly at first, but handy when you are out and about.

Freezer space is deep and holds a ton of things, we bought our own 3rd party organizing cubes and it does wonders to keep our fridge clean and organized. I would love if Samsung had their own organizing freezer shelves to help since the freezer pull out is very deep and things can get forgotten.

Finally, I love the chime that lets us know if our fridge doors are still open after some time, it helps to make sure we don’t miss on our perishables going bad. It even alerts on our Samsung smart devices like TV and mobile app, perfect for those homes who want to stay connected.

All in all, we are very pleased and look forward to lots of use out of our fancy fridge! Ps. The Black Stainless steel is a beauty and so easy to clean with our wild child :).

We have had the fridge two years now. The single best feature are the door mounted speakers, best sounding fridge ever! We bought it for the neat features it offered, we are not concerned about smart home applications, I am fully compentent to operate a wall mounted light switch.

The original fridge had inside cabinet damage from the factory, Samsung elected to replace it. Just prior to the replacement arriving we downloaded the updated software. what a mistake. The original software was so easy to use and had more stuff than we could make use of.

The update was not friendly at all and was more suited to some sort of commercial application, not in my kitchen. When the replacement fridge arrived it still had the original software interface, so what we do is cancel any offer of software upgrades.

This means that some stuff doesn’t work like the shopping list or inside picture from fridge to cell phone, probably more, but we just don’t use it. Thats how unpleasant the new app is; we would rather keep the older interface with reduced usefullness, than be force-fed a multi-corporate sales tracking tool.

We only have the Maytag for a month, but so far it is a very good product. It does keep food fresher, however, the old one was 29 yrs old. Everything in the Frig is up front and is seen. I like the fact that on the bottom shelf in the rear you can store extra items you don’t used often.

Like we buy four juice’s and creamers, because they are on sale. Can only use one at a time so the rest go on the shelf in the rear away from everything and you only go back there when you finished the first one.

We have had nothing but problems with ours. maybe we got a lemon? It lasted about a year and it was leaking refrigerant and it stopped working and we were without for a month while parts and repairs were coming in and getting done.

then about 8 months later it does it again and they say the compressor is bad. So now no fridge until after Thanksgiving. Was trying to save space in the kitchen with this smaller fridge but I think Illl go back to Frigidaire that was a tank that lasted over a decade and was still running when we swapped.

The deign of the fridge is ok. The freezer is spacious for a small unit, but the fridges design leaves for some improvement. The crisper drawers are SMALL. There is a TON of empty space behind the drawers, so why not make the drawers bigger??? You cant really put milk or 2L bottle standing up without sacrificing a shelf.

The first refrigerator arrived and the body of the freezer where the door gasket meets was warped so it didn’t meet flush south the gasket. It was the same for the refrigerator door gasket. This caused the freezer to frost up all stuff inside the freezer.

The refrigerator froze everything on the bottom. We sent that refrigerator back to the factory and got a a replacement Maytag. It arrived with damaged freezer door where the gasket was ripped off the inside of the freezer and couldn’t be repaired so a new freezer door was ordered 9 weeks ago and it was to take 5 weeks and it’s still not here.

This refrigerator the compressor is making terrible noises. The repairman thought it was the freon so he replaced the freon and he left and hardly got to the street corner and the noises started all over again.

We also can’t keep the temperature dry the recommended spot because everything on the bottom shelf freezes. Turning it down one notch ice cream is soft. I spoke with the manager and he said we’re could turn this refrigerator in and get any other refrigerator we would like, the problem is we have is our size requirements and what is available.

This is a really nice refrigerator if we can get one that works. Could three times be the charm or will we get another dud again?.

My wife and I purchased this refrigerator approx. 3 years ago. I do not do reviews as soon as I get a product because let’s face it, new out of the box just means you liked it, you bought it right? With this in mind my goal is to provide an honest review having had the product for awhile.

Overall we love the refrigerator, there was a problem with a dispenser microswitch which LG went above and beyond to fix. Their customer service is excellent and we own several LG products because of this.

The refrigerator is a replacement for another brand that was peer in terms of cost and features, and only lasted 10 years. This is obviously a concern as the cost of appliances in today’s market place should provide a reliable product for much longer.

If not for the great customer service of LG, I would have had an extensive repair bill for an appliance that was only 3 years old. I will say that this refrigerator replacement is a direct result of the previous manufacture failing on their products customer services.

My other concern in regard to the LG, is the products engineering. The part that failed could be purchased for a very reasonable cost. However, you cannot get to the microswitch without damaging other parts of the refrigerators dispenser, I could have easily fixed the switch myself had I been able to get to it.

I still gave this product a 4 out of 5 stars because I believe technology is ahead of reliability. My hope is that the engineering community understands this and the various companies either extend their warrantee or engineer the product to where there is greater access to component areas.

I would still buy this product for myself and would recommend the product to a friend as I believe all products regardless of the manufacturer could experience the same problem. In regard to features, the “knock to see” feature of the door is just awesome.

My grandkids can knock on the window, see what’s inside and make their decision without the door being left open for an extended amount of time, that and it’s fun for them. The door is light and access to drinks is easy for them, they do not have to reach inside the unit, everything is right there.

It is a great feature. The unit itself is very nice, it goes well in our kitchen and the display on the front is easy to see and read. We do not use the internet features, that was not a selling point for us, others may find it useful, and if you are considering this unit, I’d encourage you to become familiar with the features to see if they meet your needs.

Pro: Spacious, clean looking, 2 ice makers, drink compartment is handy for butter and drinks only (maybe bread too). Wifi feature is neat and checks for consumption and also how many times a day the fridge/freezer door has been opened.

Cons: The drink compartment is a chiller as it won’t get to 37F (confirmed by tech). Mine currently reads about 5F+ from main fridge at ~42F. The water tastes a bit funny (carbon taste) but ice is okay.

I think it’s the filter that it uses (we are used to ceramic filtered water). Door ice already got stuck 1 time (you have to dislodge it from sticking to sides of tray. The top chiller door tray is almost unusable as you can’t move it and it’s too high up.

Just had a LG tech come out and hope this clarifies some issue for others looking at newer fridges. 1) The compressor cools the freezer. So setting the freezer colder will run the compressor harder. 2) The temperature in the main fridge is controller by another device that allows cold air from freezer into the fridge.

3) It is normal for the freezer to swing up to 20F+ or even higher when in defrost mode but the freezer foods should never feel mushy or soft. 4) the fridge temperature should not swing like that. I confirmed with a temperature probe in water, fridge thermometer in drink chiller, and also a wireless thermometer that measures temperature high/lows for freezer.

I was concerned about pushing the fridge temp to 33F to achieve a 37F internal temp of fridge would shorten the compressor lifespan but it’s not the case since the freezer is fine.

Do you want a refrigerator that can read your mind? This beautiful 15 ft. ³ LG refrigerator is one of the most marvelous and probably the most fabulous refrigerator out there today. It has Wi-Fi enhancement, it tells you when you need to replace the filter, and if anything goes wrong LG has one of the most fabulous warranties available known to mankind.

This refrigerator can hold more than enough food for a family of 20 and still have room for more. It’s sleek, shiny, and very easy to clean. The shelves have rubber backs inside so nothing can leak if a bottle of milk or a can of syrup or Coke spills it won’t leak down to another shelf.

It has two storage bins for fresh fruits and vegetables and then one very large bin that you can put anything you want in there fruits vegetables anything you want to keep extra cold. I recommend this refrigerator to anybody that’s looking to buy something that will last a lifetime and will be just as beautiful as the first day you have it delivered.

The front doesn’t scratch easily and wipes up with just an easy rag and maybe some polish. Nowadays things are not made like they used to be, but this LG refrigerator is made to last, and you will be proud to use it and fill it, eat all the food and fill it up again.

Life isn’t the easiest right now but with a refrigerator like this LG French door refrigerator life becomes a bit easier to deal with everyday.

The refrigerator was delivered on Feb. 5th 2022 after waiting for over a month and once plugged in, the loud humming and buzzing was constant. But, the worst noise of all was a squeaking motor fan coming from the freezer! It is so loud while the refrigerator is running and when it stops the squeaking freezer motor fan continues to run another for 10-15 mins! I cannot sleep nor have any peace and quiet in my home.

If you have a small home or condo or an open concept loft like mine do not get this refrigerator because you will suffer sleepless nights and days without any peace and quiet. I called Home Depot within the 48 hours timeframe to report the malfunction refrigerator and it came with an inch long scratch on the main door too.

I am still waiting to hear back on a replacement and followed up four times without an solid answer on when I am getting a replacement refrigerator as it seems inventory might be an issue. It’s now been 10 days and I continue to suffer with no updates in site.

I bought this Fridge in October 2021 and it was finally delivered in February 2022. Installer went to install icemaker that whirlpool said fit this model fridge and it had a different plug that would not fit.

On phone with Whirlpool for over 90 minutes and no one could figure out what part. Was given another part number and ordered. The next one hits fan cover with metal lift rod and won’t work. Problem seems to be this fridge model number ends in 09 and parts list only goes to 06 model (which noted the wrong icemaker to buy) so none of their parts staff know what to do.

Unbelievable. I was told would be forwarded to engineering and would receive email with proper part number within 48 hours. I Have not heard back. Frustrating beyond belief that a company can sell a product and not easily be able To give you the proper part number for their own product.

Part numbers given by Whirlpool so far were WPW10715709 and WPW10315446. Neither fit so don’t waste your time buying. Like the fridge but extremely frustrated with the Whirlpool inability to support their own product.

Purchase one for a duplex 3-1/2 years ago and in about 1-1/2 year the refrigerator stopped working had service tech come out to service after coming back 2 times they wanted more to fix it than I paid for it.

Compressor died. Looked around for replacement and could only find the same unit for size to replace it in stock anywhere. So bought a second one 2 years ago with extended warranty. It also stopped cooling two months ago.

Service tech came out 3 times to fix no luck. Since I bought the extended warranty at least it did not cost me anything other than not having a refrigerator for 2 months!! Not the best living out of coolers fro 2 months.

Was able to get my money back from warranty company since they did not want to spend any more money on it. Would not buy or recommend this to anyone. Terrible refrigerator. I expected more from Whirlpool.

In the past I bought many whirlpool items. Not anymore!!.

We purchased this refrigerator in March 2022, and it has been one of the worst decisions we have ever made. I wish so much I had read all the customer reviews before we purchased this expensive appliance.

My biggest complaint is the very loud noise it makes 24 hours a day. Three weeks after delivery, I called Maytag, who sent a technician to our house. He admitted that the freezer was not reaching zero degrees, so the motor is continually running, and that this was a factory defect.

He advised us to return it to the retailer, which we tried to do, but they did not accept returns after two weeks of purchase date. The technician returned and recharged the refrigerant, which did not make a bit of difference.

The technician came to our house a total of FOUR times, with no results. Every time, the freezer had only reached 15 degrees in spite of it being set at 0. Obviously, something is wrong, which causes it to run continually to try to reach 0.

We currently own three other refrigerators, in our homes, none of which emits the loud, ever-present humming sound of our Maytag. I have spent hours (mostly on hold) talking with Maytag employees and their managers, with no satisfaction or results.

Besides the product being trash, the behavior of the Maytag representatives have all be rude and condescending. While the repair person they sent out behaved fine, they never seemed to listen to him or consider that there is anything wrong with the fridge even when he reports there is something wrong.

We are extremely dissatisfied with this product and will NEVER purchase another Maytag appliance! BE WARNED. Their standard answer to all poor reviews is a joke – we will send someone out to fix it. They send someone out, but then never consider what that person says about the problem with the fridge.

The fridge works well enough. It gets plenty cold enough, so much so that part of the fridge compartment freezes. There are some confusing design flaws, such as the pivoting edge on the left door doesn’t have a detent, so occasionally it smacks into the right door when trying to close it.

I just trained myself to usually close the right door last and it’s not a problem. The ice maker filter cover sticks out a ways into the compartment, so taller items like milk jugs hit it. Yes, I could lower the shelf, but that would make the shelf below it completely unusable.

There’s a reoccurring flaw with the ice dispenser deflector where it gets stuck on crush mode, and you have to pull out the ice bucket, clear the jam in the door rod, and then make sure it’s set correctly during reinsertion.

Love the full width meat and cheese drawer, though the lid keeps popping off randomly. It pops right back on, but it’s still a nuisance to keep picking it up off the floor. I really like that it has a bottom freezer.

And those drawers work great. The walls and doors of the refrigerator are comically thick. It’s ridiculous to waste so much internal volume on the insulation for such minimal efficiency savings. I could say more, but the bottom line is: I expected better for this price point.

We bought our fridge directly from Maytag. This is our first bottom freezer/french door refrigerator. The delivery service, setup and old unit removal was an awesome value Our delivery guys were awesome.

I wish the water filters lasted longer and that the water dispensed faster. We drink a lot of water and find that we need to replace the filters every month or two. But it does its job well. Our food stays fresh much longer than our older refrigerator and it is easy to find things in the unit.

I do wish we had bought a larger model. When we purchased it, we thought we were going to be empty nesters. But with COVID we have 5 adults in the house now and we did end up getting a deep freeze to increase our storage.

All in all, I would definitely recommend and will surely by Maytag again based on this experience. The reason I did not give it five stars is the filter size is so small, the water dispenses too slow for our liking and you really have to pay attention and make sure that the doors and drawer are getting closed all the way.

But it does have an awesome alarm feature to remind you that the doors are not closed tightly.

DO NOT BUY! This is the worst refrigerator I’ve owned. It makes a loud buzzing noise when on. I thought it would go away once it’s been on for a few days. I left town for about a week and was excited to come back and see if the noise went away but the noise is still there.

I called Whirlpool to have them replace the unit since it was only about 1. 5 weeks old, they said “no”, they can only repair it; why would I want something that I haven’t even used yet repaired? Besides the loud noise, the interior walls look like its been repainted or something as it has a bunch of specks/dots where you can feel them as you touch the surface.

Either something went wrong during manufacturing or this is a refurbished unit being sold as new. Either way, I’m completely disgusted with the service I received from Whirlpool. They were extremely courteous when they took my money and during delivery but when you want them to stand behind their product it’s a whole different story.

Whirlpool, stand behind your product, either replace the unit with a new unit or refund my money so we can all move on. ​ Thank you,​ Aaron​.

We bought this a few days ago out of necessity as our french door fridge died and the repair cost was out of the budget due to my current work situation. At 350. 00 at a scratch and dent shop I think it was a fair price, however I failed to realize it was so small (my fault not paying attention), esp moving from 22 cf! 16 cf has been a huge challenge, especially if you eat a lot of whole foods (produce, eggs, dairy.

). It’s extremely inconvenient and everything MUST be in it’s place. It also didn’t dawn on me that the shelves, that are not solid plastic but instead like wire, would bother me until i started loading the fridge.

HATE the shelves. Again, my fault, not like they were hidden from view when I bought it. Finally, again my fault, it did not register to me until I was filling it, that I no longer had a deli drawer.

Now I have extreme buyers remorse. It also seems to get warm quick, though this could be because of all the time I’ve spent organizing it or even pulling things out that are in the back. To be fair, I believe it runs well and the control in the freezer is nice (you can route some cold air to the fridge for a while, which is handy if you’ve had the fridge open for some time).

The door is on the wrong size (where was my brain during this purchase??) BUT that can be changed, thank goodness. Also to be fair my 3 star review reflects how I feel about the fridge rather than the product being as advertised.

There’s nothing wrong with the fridge, more so wrong with my brain and where it was located at the time of purchase. If you have a family larger than 2, I’d pass on this, unless you don’t buy lots of veggies and stuff.

In the end we needed a working fridge and this one has a warranty which private sellers can’t offer! I’m also glad it’s not an LG, like our previous one. LG had issues after the first year, and each time the repair man told us what would happen next! Extremely expensive repairs, many shops don’t service that brand and was a 2k fridge to start.

Lesson learned, if a company makes cell phones it’s probably best not to buy a fridge from them. PSS – also was surprised at price of this fridge on here, going to a scratch and dent saved 300. 00 and i think I found a scratch or maybe two but no dents so.

It keeps the food good but is not a modern fridge it’s very old fashion, the previous one stopped working after 6 years the current one we have 3 years with it. I definitely will head for a more modern fridge for the next but, hopefully soon.

We have the white one. The color makes a bit of a difference just how it blends with my kitchen.

We bought this fridge about a year ago. We loved the colour and my wife especially liked the crisper’s position of being higher up than a traditional top mount freezer. Myself, I wasn’t crazy about the lesser amount of actual refrigerator space than our last fridge but I thought having Junior out of the house now, maybe I didn’t need as much room as in the past.

Still not crazy about storage space. Anyhoo, over 3 months ago, I was sitting on the couch and the fridge started making a loud rumbling/rattling sound. I opened the French doors, and the sound stopped, but soon after I closed the doors, the sound persisted.

My wife contacted BestBuy the next day and we didn’t hear back from them for over 2 weeks. We thought with the pandemic going on, they must be short staffed. Eventually when they did get back to us, they said that we had to use their certified Samsung tech (from a company outside of BestBuy).

Three weeks went by and still no word from their tech. We called back and they said they would look into the matter. A week later, the Samsung tech contacted my wife and set up a date and time to come look at our fridge.

His assessment was it was the fan causing the problem We didn’t hear anything from him for over 3 weeks, even having trying to contact him to see if the part had come in. We contacted BestBuy and strongly voiced our displeasure from the treatment we had been receiving.

They said they would look into it. Again, weeks had gone by before they got back to us. They told us that they couldn’t get a hold of the tech either. BestBuy presented us with the offer of either swapping our old fridge with a new fridge identical to the one we had, but would have to purchase new extended warranty or swap it with a different fridge of equal value, same deal on the extended warranty.

Our feeling is that BestBuy should either give us the new fridge with a fresh extended warranty (at no extra charge to us) OR carry the existing warranty that we paid for, with whatever is left on it with this new fridge.

If you hear the noise coming from this fridge, that we have had to live with for the past 3 plus months, our request is not out of reason. People who live next to railroad tracks, fire stations or airports at least have a reprieve from the noise periodically, we have not!.

So, I bought my little house which, came with an old top-door -freezer fridge. I’m an (old,) short woman, and still, I had to about stand on my head to see what lived on the bottom shelves and in the low bins.

As a result, many science projects made their way to the garbage and I ended up eating out of lots of frozen microwavable cartons of processed ‘food’. Last month I was blessed with a vegan roomie who cooks.

And shops. And, often brings home fresh food from his work. All of a sudden, the old fridge was so packed, it looked like an overgrown food forest in there. So, I started looking at fridges online, being sure to stay carefully within the dimensions and good places to shop.

Love you, Best Buy. After about a week of reading and researching – I kept coming back to this Samsung 21. 8 cu. ft. French-Door Fridge. White wasn’t available until the Fall, so I settled for the stainless.

(Note: fingerprints show like crazy, but remembering my stewardess days: clean stainless surfaces with hot coffee (the coffee, not the grounds) on a no-lint rag. Cuts grease and wipes off beautifully.

) Not including the installation for the ice maker was a good choice for me, and Best Buy was so kind and professional in refunding the installation kit. There is so much light inside, and the height of the storage, including in the doors, is amazingly accurate for varying human heights.

The doors will self-close with *just* the right amount of swing, and if it happens not to catch, pretty soon little fairy-chimes remind you to shut a door. (The first time I heard the “alarm”, I looked all over the place for the source of the soft tinkling, first blaming the phone – finally realizing the New Fridge was speaking to me.

) (eyeroll) Delivery was on time via Geek Squad, and they hauled away the old relic for a nominal charge. They expertly removed the front door to get the space for the new unit; no hassle, no fuss. The unpacking was perfunctory, and I am still finding pieces of plastic wrap and tape to remove, but that is of little consequence.

The big Styrofoam pieces though, were left for me to dispose of. (a-hem. ) Fact is, I’m thoroughly happy with the big, new fridge. It’s so quiet and polite. So competent and accommodating. It has become my new kitchen friend.

If you need a new one too, this is a fabulous choice. Bon appetit!.

we bought this fridge after labor day 2021. it worked for a few months and just after 2022 started, it stopped cooling. i had to submit multiple service requests. it took weeks to get someone out. he didnt fix it.

he came out 3 or 4 times before it finally got “fixed”. the fridge cooled for maybe 2 months. we moved in june to another town, but still own the home the fridge is in. we visited 8/28/22 and the fridge was still working.

we came back last weekend (9/23/22) and discovered a horrible smell. the fridge had stopped cooling (again) and had since been infested with flies and maggots due to rotting food. oh, and the first time my fridge went out, we lost a lot of food.

they gave us an email and told us to send an itemized list of food we lost…never saw anything out of that request.
