20 Best Frames For Thick Lenses (2023 Updated)

I love these! Through out the years I always had a hard time finding glasses to fit the shape of my face lol! so I always wore contacts. However, recently I became tired of wearing them constantly, so after ordering contacts from here and them saving me money, I decided to try their glasses.

When I saw these and customized them to my liking, since I have bad eye sight I like the ultra thin frames and normally this would cost me over 500 for a pair especially, if it was a brand name. But these! these were under 300.

The glasses themselves are good quality, they are thin but that’s just the type of frame. The lenses came smooth and clean. Packaging was organized and good. I bought during a sale and the price was great considering I had to do add-ons such as anti-reflectjve and high index lenses.

Overall great quality glasses/lenses and they look amazing on! When I need glasses again I’ll be sure to order from EZContacts.

I love my new glasses. The quality is great and the price was even better. I normally wear contacts all the time and only wear my glasses to give my eyes a break from contact lenses, but now I want to wear my glasses all the time! I have a small round face and the frames do not look over sized at all.

I would say they are a medium in size. I have received many compliments on them. One thing that is a bit deceiving is they are not all plastic, they have a plastic frame but the arms are metal–that part pulls on your hair a bit–so beware.

Other than that I would highly recommend.

Ray-Ban is my favorite eyewear company for both eyeglasses and sunglasses. The company has a long and interesting history. As such, their eyewear has been mastered throughout the years in terms of both quality and style.

I have owned many pairs of Ray-Ban eyewear and find the materials to be durable. To date, I have never had a Ray-Ban product break. The company has an abundant amount of eyewear available in various styles and colors and most products can be customized.

My favorite Ray-Ban products include their Aviator Sunglasses and Erika Optics Eyeglasses. The pricepoint is higher than competitors but it is still fair, and the products do last a long time if properly taken care of.

The only downside associated with the brand is that it was bought by Luxottica Group in 1999 and currently, Luxottica Group’s Customer Service is inadequate. I recently purchased a pair of sunglasses and received a used pair that was smeared and dirty.

It was a fight to get them to accept a return despite the fact that I had not gotten what I paid for (a brand-new pair of sunglasses) and it took them nearly a month to ship out another pair. Upon receipt of the second pair, I realized that the sunglasses were in worse condition than the first and, to my horror, had hair stuck in the frames.

My concern was not handled professionally as I was originally denied a return and refund. Eventually, upon threatening to file a dispute with my credit card company, I was able to send the sunglasses back for a second time.

Not surprisingly, I did not receive my refund until one month later despite Luxottica Group being in receipt of them. I understand that financial losses due to returns of goods is becoming a problem for companies, but from an ethical standpoint, returned goods should not be sold to consumers at full price without disclosure.

This is especially true for eyewear as diseases can easily spread. (Additionally, given the amount of inauthentic Ray-Ban products being produced and sold, a dishonest customer could easily purchase an authentic pair from the website and switch it out with an inauthentic pair.

These are by far the most comfortable glasses that I have ever worn. I mean that about all Ray Ban glasses. I have many designed brand sunglasses yet I always reach for my Ray Ban sunglasses. I always reach for my Ray Ban prescription glasses.

Why? Because they are the most comfortable. They’re stylish. Worth every penny. The comfort from each pair is what really does it for me.

It took a while to get to me, but I singleqoute m in Montana. The frame fits me well I have to get a small size. The small size limits my choices. Also I have to be conscious of the strong prescription I need for I singleqoute m very nearsighted.

I was skeptical ordering online, but Cleary got it perfect! I was so mad when someone lifted by glasses that I had like these when I went to the men’s room at a restaurant. I have had these glasses for about two or three weeks now and for the most part, I love them. I knew that I wanted these frames before I even got my prescription. Everything about these frames scream style and class, and as a law student, I feel that they have a very professional look.

However, I’m over six feet tall, and the short temples (long plastic piece that hooks over ears) have started to cause some discomfort. I may take them back as I am within my 30-day window at LensCrafters.

I would think that for such a longstanding, high-priced brand like Ray Ban, that longer temple pieces would be available. It would be much more accommodating to big and tall customers to offer not only longer temples, but also variations in pupillary distance to accommodate wider heads as well.

As aforesaid, I LOVE the look of these glasses, but the discomfort is beginning to maybe be a little too much for the trade off. Ray Ban, if you read this, PLEASE consider at least adding an option for longer temples and/or longer pupillary distances in order to be more accommodating to big and tall customers.

You would have a lifelong customer in me if so.

Bought these glasses for night time driving. They are very comfortable and I find myself wearing them during the day because they “complete the look”. I have never had colored lenses which reduce the glare and I added the blue light filter.

Something to consider if you are not used to it.

This frame is lightweight, fits perfectly and is the color I was expecting. I’m still getting used to the progressive lens(first time trying them!). All in all this was a very good experience. I am very happy with my purchase!.

These frames are lightweight, complimentary and comfortable – however – in less than a year of wearing, a lens popped out – while driving. I took the frames and lens to Lenscrafters for fixing. In less than six months after that, the other lens popped out.

The lenses are held in place by tightening the frame with screws near the hinge and it comes loose with regular wear. The arch/bar that spans the top of each lens also gets stuck on things as it is not flush with the frame.

This is annoying, but not a deal-breaker. The deal-breaker for me is the hazard of having a lens fall out while I’m driving/getting on with my day. I’ve since had to replace these frames with another because of the hazard.

I wear my glasses to see, so a lens falling out is not a good thing to have happen.

Let me start by saying that this is the first time I’ve ordered glasses online. COVID has made the process of trying on glasses in person (at least where I live) incredibly cumbersome. I was nervous about the process, but was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was! I’ve had Ray Bans in the past, so it was easy to expect great quality glasses that I knew would fit my large head.

Lol The glasses look and fit great. And the lenses were perfect, which is what I was most nervous about. I have a fairly strong prescription and opted for the thinnest lenses Clearly offers, and I’m so glad I did.

Fit and function is perfect, and it’s so nice to be able to see again! The only downside is that these were advertised as having “spring hinges” which they unfortunately do not. I’m fairly hard on my eyeglasses, so the comfort and durability of spring hinges is important to me.

Had I known that these didn’t, I would have purchased a different pair. Unfortunately, I have had to wear them, so I wasn’t able to take advantage of the great return policy Clearly offers. All that being said, they arrived much quicker than I expected, and the prescription is perfect.

And I saved a bunch of money vs buying in a brick and mortar. I will definitely be purchasing my glasses from Clearly in the future :).

I was a little apprehensive about buying glasses online, but COVID convinced me otherwise. The selection process was super easy, providing one inputted all the correct measurements. The glasses arrived in short order and to my utter surprise, fit absolutely perfectly and the vision was exact.

I was worried that the frames and lens combo would be a little heavy, but was relieved to find that they were quite light. My only suggestion would be for the website to show the weight or degree of heaviness of the glasses after lens selection.

This would have alleviated some of my concern regarding weight when ordering. All-in-all, I am very satisfied at purchasing these glasses at a price that would easily be at least half of what I would have been charged at a retail optometrist.

It’s incredibly hard to find stylish and more straightlined glasses that are not over-the-top on edginess. The Sheik is a great balance and just dropped them off to get lenses. Glad I purchased and will definitely keep VINT & YORK in mind when I buy again.

V&Y describe these as big glasses. And they are wide. But the lenses are only 33mm high. If you are cursed with a big fat head like me, you might want to consider The Empire or even The Great, which are more like 44mm high.

The frames are nice though, and there’s a nice case to keep them in These are my first glasses. They are only 1. 75 and 2. 0 lenses but jee-sus they make reading paperbacks a lot easier. Hopefully I won’t get tired reading in the future.

Such a fantastic frame. The tortoise shell pattern tones down the green, giving the frames a sophisticated look while remaining fashion forward. I can wear these for all occasions, boardroom to boardwalk.

And for my wide, heart-shaped face, the fit is perfect. It also doesn’t hurt that they bring out my green eyes 😉 Love them!.

I got these glasses a little over a month ago, and I am so beyond happy with them! They’re super light weight, so it’s easy to forget they’re even there! I’ve never had glasses that were “flexible”, so that’s been a bonus as well.

My only complaint is they have been difficult to adjust to my face. My face obviously isn’t straight and the right lens sits too close to my face. Every time we adjust it, it’s perfect for a few hours but then slowly goes right back.

Once we get that figured out I will have nothing but praise!.

Great product, fast shipping, product is perfect. Had issues with sending my prescription being accepted. My prescription was Progressive, even though I have never used progressive lenses. Ray Ban declined my order until I got a single view version of my script.

My doctor was on vacation and returned only to tell me that its the same script and they should know that. I agree. Im sure this isn’t the first pair of prescription glasses Ray Ban has sold.

The glasses are perfect! They literally are the hip hop style from the 80’s. They look great on my husband’s face and they came so nicely packaged in a beautiful snake skin like box. The delivery time was so fast but it may be due to me not needing any prescription lenses for him.

All I get is compliments and looks of envy over my Cazals. Besides how they look and feel, the customer service was great. At the last minute, I changed my mind about having the glasses be tinted. I called customer service, she changed the order, no problem.

These are my 5th and favorite pair of glasses from eyebuydirect. I just started wearing glasses in 2018 and I believe I finally found the shape of frames that work best on my face. The main reason I chose this style was because it has spring hinges and the lenses are a bit bigger.

I was skeptical at first because the site lists Chief’ and being a medium frame but I’m happy I went w/ them because they fit and feel great. Even though they slip down slightly but that’s expected. I got the brown frame and put brown transitions in them too so these double as my sunglasses.

Prescription is perfect as usual. I can’t say enough good about them.

The frames themselves look good. Are lightweight and seem sturdy enough. Unfortunately they are too big for my face (my mistake). They tend to slide down my nose but the nose pads are formed into the frame itself so there is no way to adjust them.

I would still recommend these frames but perhaps for people with larger size faces.

Great glasses and an even better price with the sale EZ Contacts had. These would have cost me over $300 at LensCrafters and I only paid $100 with my prescription with a few upgrade options as well! I ordered Sept 4th and received them Sept 23rd.

If you’re in a rush, don’t order from here but if you love a great bargain, quality work and can be patient, then don’t pass up on this company.

I’m overall very happy with what I have received. The only challenge I had is that it tooktime to arrive and when I inquired about the delay, I was informed that they were out of stock, which should have been mentioned on the website before I made the purchase.

Other than that, I think the glasses fit very well and the price is unbeatable!.

These glasses are awesome. The purple is subtle and the frames are incredibly light weight. I have a wide bridged nose and they fit comfortably for me. I love the online price!

The quality and style are great. The black and gold colors along with the lens shape make them distinctive. I mark them down one star due to the height of the lens being much taller than I expected. This may be a matter of preference, and I should have paid more attention to the dimension details.

The fit is nice on the width of the frames, but the overall lens size is bigger than I had hoped. Other than that, they look pretty cool.

Love the look but poor quality. Didn’t take long for them to get all messed up. I take good care of my glasses but the quality on these is far from durable. They look amazing on but my screws got loose in no time, witch make them not stay on my face.

The lense part also got bended in a weird way.

I am beyond impressed with my new glasses! First of all, I usually buy sunglass frames as my prescription glasses because I need a larger size. I prefer a dramatic, thicker frame that stands out, and the fact that these are offered in a variety of colors sealed my choice.

I could not believe I received them in a week; I had ordered a pair from my local optometrist at the same time and was still waiting two weeks later. Have I mentioned the price yet? Even with my bifocals it’s still not as bad as a pair of designer frames.

Now that I can’t wear my contacts like I used to, I can afford to have a few pairs to change up. And best of all, the frames are also available as sunglasses.

So I wanted a pair of oversized glasses and these fit the bill. Unfortunately I did not consider thickness of the frame. I received the glasses quickly. The lenses were perfect, could see great. The glasses imo looked like they were overtaking my face.

I contacted the company, followed the return procedure and now I’m waiting for a different pair, same color just less plastic frame. The company very to work with on returns. Not sure when they will be able to get my new pair to me as Hip Optical is in Florida.

I walked in the room cloaked in these massive frames. I was so proud that i’d only paid $80 for them (shipping included). I asked my husband how much he thought I’d paid. He said $5 (they were not flattering at all).

I said, “No, really. ” He repeated himself. Too large for my face. The lenses were perfect. But the frames …. as fly as they were…. we’re not made for my face. I was terribly disappointed. They were fabulous frames! I returned them.

When my glasses broke a week before my flight to NY I called my eye company (pearl vision) and they didn’t have my lenses on hand, which they never do because my prescription is so strong I was told it would take 2weeks to get them after I came in and scheduled an appointment.

At this point I was searching for ways to tape my glasses, I went and got a hot glue gun, which did nothing, it kept falling apart. My friend then referred me to eye buy direct and I got these glasses that said 2 day shipping but I wasn’t expecting it to come too soon because my lens are always thick due to my perception, to my surprise I order these Sunday night 7/20/20 and they came this Tuesday morning at 8am 7/21/20 I didn’t have to leave the comfort of my home at all.

I was skeptical to order glasses online for the fact that. I have a pea-sized head and I typically will love frames but they’d be too big for my face. I thought I’d take a chance and order them and thought if I didn’t like them.

I’d just return them. They came really fast in the mail (not fast enough when you’re PUMPED. ) They come in a nice hard cardboard box that definitely is the case I keep them in now. Along with a cleaning cloth that is also the holder for them.

And instructions on how to clean them. Or reshape them if needed. When I put them on. I FELL INLOVE you guys. The quality is amazing. They look JUST like the picture. And they even look good on my pea-sized head.

I was hesitant to order glasses online for the first time. But these are great and only cost me about 25 bucks including shipping. My prescription isn’t super strong. So they may be a little more depending on that.

They fit nicely and I like that the lenses are larger than my older pair. Although I like the tortoise frames. I might pick up this same pair in black because the brown color is lighter than I expected.

They are surprisingly sturdy though. No complaints there :).

I recently had cataract surgery and after healing and vision testing I needed new glasses. I got my clear lensed glasses from my eye doctor. But I needed sunglasses as well. A friend had recently gotten sunglasses from GlassesUSA and recommended them to me.

I’ve been wearing these frames (I bought them elsewhere and paid more than double) for about three years. They are by far the most comfortable frames I’ve ever worn. Here’s why: The frames are made of Titanium.

This metal is hypoallergenic, highly corrosion resistant, and has the same strength as steel but only half the weight. To minimize weight further these frames are semi rimless. I put my glasses on a precision scale and found that they weigh only 25 grams!! and that’s with polycarbonate lens installed and some plastic temple behind the ear retainer hooks in place too (personal preference).

I can wear these all day without issue. I highly recommend these frames paired with polycarbonate or Trivex lenses (lightest lens materials).

I have a hard time finding extended fit glasses. There are very few selections available. After purchasing another pair from Frames Direct I called customer service and they took my first order back, no questions asked.

Bought these as an experiment as I wanted to see if a wider frame works better for ultra-wide screen monitors. It is great for computer work, but it so large that it looks comical during web conferences.

Ill replace it with a smaller frame.

The frame arms have come apart several times, so now I have three frames. Service has been very good in terms on honoring warranty and responsiveness.
