20 Best Foundation For Tempurpedic Mattress (2023 Updated)

I’m so grateful that I ordered this Zinus Metal Smartbase! I currently have so much body pain from injuries. And it’s an easy assembly. Just a few screws and that’s it! My biggest problem was getting it out of the box and moved around.

I cut the box off around it and pulled out each piece as needed and assembled each. Just tightening a few screws. Then, finally, I was able to find a neighbor to move pieces together where I needed it.

Adding the final two screws! He grumbled the entire five minutes. Lol People just often don’t want to be bothered. Which, is why I really needed this to be easy! If I could give this a hundred stars, I would!.

Although I’m on a brand X mattress (still wonderful) I’m getting ready to be a repeat customer for another one (this time a full, any coupons?)! The smartbase high profile frame is THE smartest way to go for savings multiple ways: 1.

No box spring needed, saves money (but you knew that!). 2. On the disposal end, the box spring won’t go to the land fill, maybe you thought of that too! 3. If you are able to plan in advance during home construction, you can actually incorporate this feature into your closet and furniture space, realizing that this space can replace a broom closet by keeping the vacuum under the bed, or perhaps storage containers of off season items.

and reduce the need for storage lockers, even closets and bureaus. For a mobile home, if people are able to get a tankless water heater, (1 x 2 feet cubic rectangle on the wall) both work together to allow existing floor space to be used more efficiently.

Definitely do not recommend this product if you are looking for the KING size. The King size is 10cm too big for a standard king mattress. The bed base cover also didn’t fit either. Would recommend though for other sizes just not the KING.

Bare in mind that this is a bed that comes a box and has to be built as it has metal pieces. So easy to build and to move around, the instruction manual is there too and it came with a ratchet which made tightening the screws easier.

I did have an issue with this King bed but customer service and the team were so helpful and had the product refunded. Temple and Webster is definitely a good company, just wouldnt recommend the KING size.

This Zinus bedframe was exactly what we were looking for. Simple and functional. The frame arrived very well packaged. Assembling was super easy and straight forward. We were super impressed at how well all the pieces fit together.

This is typically a challenge with mail ordered furniture but not with this brand. Zinus had all the pieces cut exactly correct. Everything fit together perfectly. The bed frame is very sturdy and solid feeling.

No shifting or rocking whatso ever. Our queen foam mattress fit perfectly with just enough room for the bedding to hand correctly. Overall, super impressed with this frame and Zinus’s attention to detail for a well made product!!.

Very easy to build. Took 18 minutes to build. Side bars slide into each other and the bolts secure into the corners. Middle bar provides extra support. There is Velcro that lines the longest sides where the slats will go.

The wooden slats are connected by a long durable fabric Velcro strip that adhered to the Velcro on the metal. Keeps it all firmly in place wooden slats don’t slide at all. Also comes with non slip strips that you can apply to keep the mattress from sliding.

So far very durable for sleep and kids jumping on our bed. All around stellar purchase.

I am a 25-year MS patient that has had movement issues since my 2nd Covid vaccine last April. I LOVE my bed – but the existing foundation was 12 INCHES. WAY too high for me now. With this ultra-low 2″ foundation you have changed my sleep experience for the BETTER.

This product is an abomination, its exactly the cardboard that’s used for shipping packages and its wrapped in cheap fabric. The cardboard is made 2″ by having 4 corners of the foundation that are 2″.

So, the majority of the surface is just the cardboard and it sags down from the corners. WHAT A JOKE!.

We had a tempurpedic king mattress on an unsupportive frame. The bed started to sag after a few years even with the proper tempurpedic platform. Purchased the frame with the 3 cross supports, the bed now has strong support.

Arrived within 5 days of ordering. Easy to put together. Extremely well made.

I had been shopping online for a frame to fit my Tempurpedic so that I could use a vintage-y wood headboard I’d been keeping for years. I thought I was going to have to forego the box springs in order to get what I wanted.

So glad I realized this product was available before I bought something else made for no box spring that probably wouldn’t have fit my mattress right anyway. This is much nicer than the old school metal frames you used to have.

Better wheels and corners. Even glides well over carpet, despite the heavy weight of my super-thick, king-sized Tempurpedic mattress and box springs. I love it and I love finally getting rid of my old headboard/footboard deal.

I purchased this frame to go with my Tempur-Pedic mattress and new headboard. This is a solid, well built frame. Assembly took just a few minutes. I have had no issues with the frame whatsoever. I would purchase this frame again.

Overall, I’m very happy with the Luma foundation. Assembly of the foundation is straight forward and instructions are clear. Two moderately handy women were able to put together and move into place a California King sized foundation without any problems.

Be aware that the wood is not finely sanded, but it was solid, knot-free, and clean. If I had it to do over again, I might have sanded the frame’s pieces slightly before bringing them into the house.

The one bit missing from the instructions is how to apply the cover. We ended up laying the cover out on the floor unzipped with the zipper edge down, lowering the foundation onto the cover’s bottom, then wrapping the top of the cover over the frame and zipping into place.

The cover is a fairly snug fit, but getting it zipped up wasn’t too difficult. The foundation cover is very nice looking and you may decide as we did to leave it showing. The foundation does not make any noise (squeaks, etc) and feels solid under our latex mattress.

A couple of minor quibbles: First, although the description on the website says that the cover is washable, there was a sticker on the cover stating that it is spot clean only. I understood “washable” to mean machine washable.

I’d recommend that Luma Sleep make the “spot clean only” restriction clearer on their website. Second, the California King foundation was a very tight fit into our California King Pottery Barn bed frame in the head to foot direction.

Taking 1/2 inch or so off the frame length would make lowering it into place easier and give more options in terms covering the foundation with another layer of material (protector, etc).

We had specific height parameters we needed to fit between for our bed height and the space we wanted under the bed for storage. I chatted several times with Stafano, who was both friendly and helpful.

The frame arrived quickly. It is definetly not finished furniture, but a structural frame. We bolted it together quickly and easily. Our new mattress hadn’t arrived yet, so we put our old box spring/mattress on the new frame and what an amazing difference the frame made.

We hadn’t realized that our 40+ year old frame was in such bad shape and had such an impact on our mattress and sleeping patterns. However, I ordered 8″ legs from another source, since I wanted my storage under the bed and the 5″ legs from LUMA were too short.

When our new hybrid mattress arrived a week later, we installed our 8″ legs and put the new mattress on the frame, and about collapsed the whole thing. four of the nine legs were slanted and both side frames were racked.

The whole bed felt wobbly and unstable. My husband (who is a designer and has built houses) decided the problem was only one fastening point at the head/foot and the side frames, allowing the frame to “twist” with the weight of the mattress.

We took the bed apart and removed the legs, put the frame back on the floor with the new mattress. on it. My husband bought some 1x3s and additional nuts/bolts and installed them as cross members to hold the side frames stable.

We re-installed the 8″ legs. It is solid and stable, not quite as solid as when it was on the floor, but still very solid. I am unaware of my husband moving or getting out of bed, thus my sleep has improved.

I do like the removable cover that I can launder a couple of times per year. And My underbed storage works great. Thank you.

My wife and I recently purchased this foundation for a new king bed. This arrived promptly and was well packaged. Nothing was damaged, all hardware was included, and all the wood was solid and in good shape.

I’m a hobbyist woodworker so the quality of the wood used for this was very nice to see. Assembly was very straightforward. I was finished in about 15-20 minutes. The foundation was extremely sturdy and had a good amount of weight.

I view this as a positive since it makes the bed more stable. The included cover is excellent and covered the foundation easily. The material is thick and had no smell. I was really impressed with it.

Customer service was also really good. The order confirmation and shipping information was received promptly. Luma is a class act company. The biggest thing that stood out in my mind was that shortly after I placed my order, a holiday sale went into effect.

Without my even asking, Luma refunded me the difference of my purchase price and the holiday sale. I didn’t even know about the holiday sale until they contacted me to let me know they were refunding me.

That type of honesty is important to me and they’ve secured future business from me. They have great products and fantastic customer service. I highly recommend Luma!.

I was a little worried about how difficult it might be to put the foundation together, but the instructions and labeling of the materials were simple and very clear. Easiest self-assembly item I’ve ever dealt with.

With two people, it took maybe fifteen minutes to put it completely together. Our bed frame is a little higher and was designed to work without a boxspring, but the slats were too far apart for Plushbed, and would have voided the warranty on the mattress.

The low-profile model does a good job supporting the 10″ mattress without us having to pole-vault into bed.

It’s made of unfinished wood with many splinters so wear gloves when assembling. Also, it’s best to assemble next to the bed you’re putting it on because it’s quite precarious to move after assembly.

The slats will keep falling off if you need to move it to another room. It does the job but it’s very rudimentary and basic, but no chemicals since it’s unfinished/untreated wood so that’s the good thing.

Brilliant. I like this bed. Sturdier and better built IMO than many of the cheap bedframes available and looks great. Fitted together quickly and simply (REALLY loved the ratchet hex head tool !!!). Also love that there are no middle uprights each side to kick your toes on.

Only question mark will be that the mattress sits on top of the base, not ‘inside’ and I have some concerns about the mattress slipping around a little (& the Velcro strips supplied arguably reinforces that small concern).

Probably not a big deal unless its being jumped on by 10 years old’s all day, but one thing I’ll be watching as we use it. Overall very happy.

After I had to return two broken bed frames and one bed frame with missing hardware on Overstock dot com, I was desperately searching for a bed frame for a recently purchased mattress. The process with the other site took a total of 6 weeks until I got my money back.

Needless to say, I was frustrated and just wanted to sleep in a whole bed with my new mattress. With my experience attempting to assemble 4 bed frames in almost two months gave me a bit more knowledge than your average guy who doesn’t know much about furniture assembly.

Pros- The Zinus bed was incredibly easy to assemble. It took about 20 minutes with one other person. On average, I was spending about two hours on assembly per bed before I purchased the Zinus bed. No extra tools needed for assembly.

Ratchet and extra hardware are included with purchase. The zelcro strips to hold the wooden slats in place are a great addition. The slats stay in place to keep the mattress from sliding. The combination of wood and metal fit my style.

I like more industrial or rustic pieces. Cons- The headboard arrived with a chip in the wood. The chip is slightly larger than a penny. After all the returns I did with Overstock, I did not want to exchange the wood on the headboard and wait for it to be delivered.

The bed sits very low. I thought I would be able to fit a few short but long boxes under the bed. I cannot. I like having storage for out of season clothing or extra bedding under my bed, but its not possible to do this with this bed.

This bed frame is amazing! Not only did it arrive 3 days earlier than expected (which was only 4 days after purchasing), it was packaged perfectly with easy-to-follow instructions. The actual frame is sturdy, it doesn’t creak (especially when put flush against a wall), and holds the mattress solidly with double sided tape, so no worries about the mattress moving if you move in your sleep.

The charging ports on the headboard is an added feature that pulls the whole frame together, and the cord for the charging ports is easily hidden underneath the bed! Absolutely would recommend this sleek and modern bed frame for anyone wanting to amp up their bedroom.

We got this frame because our box spring was broken and wore out. The frame we were not sure would hold our weight as we are both large people. But the frame held up great and as been a great purchase.

We have had it a couple weeks now and no complaints. One tip though if you buy this type of frame is make sure you have a good mattress or mattress topper. Our mattress is pretty worn out too but did not realize it until we put on this frame.

Luckily we had a topper and that helped. My wife really likes that it is tall enough to store stuff underneath and plans on getting some plastic totes to organize the bedroom and closet a little better.

I am rating the Smart Base five stars! We have a Rice bed that originally come with metal rails, however, we had trouble keeping them in place. The rails moved around a lot that the pegs which held them in place no longer kept them stationary and the mattress start slumping where support is needed.

We have a King size bed with both foundation and pillowtop mattress. Well, we decided to purchase the Smart Base to give us better support and believe me this was one of our many best investments. We’re sleeping like babies!.

The twin xl sized frame is a pretty solid bed. I put cardboard boxes on top of it since there are pretty large gaps between the support bars and wires. I wouldn’t want to place the mattress directly on the frame because of the gaps and also some support wires that are sharp at the ends.

Otherwise the frame is smoothly finished on the top. I wish the frame came with slats or pegboard for extra mattress support and aeration. I feel it is a well made bed frame though.

The new bed frame I was buying required a foundation for our Bear Mattress and I was disappointed in a lot of the options out there. The metal frames were mostly one-piece. There were tons of foundations that were split-king, which I didn’t want because of the difference in rigidity in the middle of the bed.

The options just weren’t great. In comes the Bear Foundation. It’s nicely upholstered in a dark fabric, and blends in well with the Bear Hybrid’s side material. The setup was insanely easy, and I loved that it can be broken down.

Our bedroom is 90-degrees off the top of the staircase, so a single piece king foundation would never fit, this box was so compact I walked it up the stairs by myself and laid it out. Instructions were good, assembly was quick, and I really like that the slats are retained by being sewn into fabric AND having velcro anchors.

They aren’t moving anywhere. In summary, I love this foundation and hope it lasts a long time because it’ll be easy to move from home to home.

This mattress is 1000% awesome. I’m severely biased towards this mattress. If you’re somewhat athletic, a gym rat, or you suffer from soreness, this is the mattress for you. The recovery of this mattress is so good it feels unfair.

I currently workout Mon, Wed, Fri each week and I feel refreshed and ready to go again after one night’s sleep. It’s insane. Moreover on rough workdays when I pull long nights even if I don’t sleep much and feel groggy I can’t deny that the mattress just feels plain great.

Basically even if you don’t get a lot of sleep, your sleep quality will be good. The mattress is constantly on my mind. It’s a love affair. It’s a really good mattress period! PS. I don’t really use the edge of my mattress all too often so I don’t have much to say about the edge support, however, the edge has never bothered me.

My wife and I have talked for over a year now about buying a upgraded mattress. We have always had a box springs mattress and was hesitant to make the move to memory foam. We considered everything, even the very high end mattresses.

One thing I noticed when we to brick and mortar type stores to sit on “bigger name” mattresses I didn’t notice a huge difference in the models. Maybe you would notice a difference if you slept on them few weeks.

But my thinking was…Why spend 4-5 thousand dollars on something I can’t see a huge difference in? So I started to research the online memory foam mattress company. Little did I know at the time there are several of them and majority of them got very high reviews.

So how do I pick which one? After careful research and I choose the Bear brand. I haven’t slept on any other mattress so I can’t say for sure if this is the best out there…all I can say is I couldn’t be happier.

I sleep so much better at night and have so much more energy in the morning. I also workout 3-4 times a week and I noticed before with my old mattress that I would occasionally wake up with a soreness in my back or neck.

I’ve had this mattress for nearly two months and I’ve never had soreness. My wife and I actually just came back from vacation and the hotel we stayed at was very nice but it had a box springs mattress similar to what we had before.

It’s like that saying…you don’t know what you have until its gone. We noticed a HUGE difference being away from our Bear mattress. Neither one of us slept nearly as good. I have recommend this mattress to everyone I know.

My only regret is that I didn’t buy one a long time ago. We are middle class income family, and it wasn’t easy to come up with nearly a thousand dollars for a mattress. But if you think about it, you spend a a third of your life sleeping…so why not make a investment in that area of your life.

We received our mattress on April 24th and have been sleeping on it for about 6 weeks. The bed was delivered as expected and setup was easy. Due to the weight of the mattress you do need two people to setup a king mattress.

We didn’t experience any off-gassing and the mattress doesn’t sleep hot. The mattress looks to be very good quality, but time will tell how it holds up. I do notice movement from my spouse, but like any springs mattress.

Just based on looks alone, I would give the mattress a 5. Looks just like the pictures on the website. Now for the reason I gave the mattress 3 stars. I purchased the mattress because all the reviews said the mattress, with its pillow top, was like sleeping on a soft, plush pillow.

This is far from the truth. I would rate the mattress as medium firm at best. There is no pillow top feel whatsoever. It’s more like laying on a hard surface with a minimal amount of padding. We purchased the mattress expecting a much softer feel.

My wife and I are both sleeping ok on the mattress, but I sleep on my side and experience pressure on my and ribs. I experience pain in my shoulder, back and ribs every morning when I wake. The pain does go away after I get up and start moving around, so it is better than our old mattress.

We rotated the mattress after the first month and will give it a while longer. Unless the mattress softens up, I will probably be returning for a refund. I just wish it had more padding and it would be perfect.

But for the price, you shouldn’t experience pain from sleeping on the mattress.

Put this together all by myself in about 13 minutes. Instructions are foolproof, and the longest part was opening the box! The frame itself is lightweight, but sturdy; between that and the iron bedframe I also got from Brentwood Home, there’s no squeaking, and I feel secure! I also like that there are colour options! I chose the sand colour that goes with the fabric on my hybrid latex mattress.

I’m 26 and this was my first brand new mattress. Absolutely worth the investment!.

I bought this foundation because the bedframe I was sold on a different website was of poor construction. This finished installing this foundation last night and I could not be any happier with it! What a wonderful product! The construction of the metal is exceptional the welding is done right.

I contacted costumer service for delivery dates and my email was answered within minutes. Puffy is the epitome of what a wonderful American company should be and other companies should take note. I will recommend Puffy to people for the rest of my life.

My wife and I needed a new mattress. We did not realize how bad our old one was getting (22 years old). I went to the furniture store and looked at mattresses. Nice Serta line and the displays were wonderful.

But you made a decision and made your purchase. End of discussion. By accident my wife and I found the Puffy Mattress site. (Did a Brave Browser search and found Puffy. ) When one sees 8400 plus reviews of a product, and most all were staying positive things…we really had to check it out.

What sold us was the guarantee. 100 nights. To be able to try out the mattress for 100 nights to make sure this is the one, well that was huge. I was concerned that all the foam was going to be hot. But they are right, it isn’t.

And the extra springs, I think made a big difference. Having 4 back and one neck surgeries, getting great sleep is important. After 60 plus nights on this mattress…I am sold.

I absolutely love my Puffy Mattress. It is the perfect blend of cushy, support, and temperature. You fell like you float more than lay on it. I lay on my side and my back and both are comfortable. It is not stiff as a board but offers the right level of support for a great night’s sleep.

It never gets hot so you sleep comfortable the entire night. Love the sheets too!!!! I coupled mine with an adjustable bed frame.

Before this foundation I had slacks that were about 8 inches apart from eachother. This caused a lot of pain and ruined any mattress on it. After much research for a flat foundation, there was really no other considerable foundation than the Tempurpedic flat foundation.

I ordered it and am so happy with it. I’m able to trust that I’m on a genuine good foundation for sleep. I trust it’s quality. I loved it so much that I switched my mattress for a Tempurpedic Pro Adapt Medium Hybrid.

Now I’m sleeping on a good quality mattress that’s on a good quality foundation. The only thing I would change about it is to have it available at the 5 inches for a twin (normal). I wanted it in the 5 inches instead of 9 but the 9 has been great anyways.

Sadly, this foundation just doesn’t seem like it’s going to hold up for us. It seems to support our memory foam mattress just fine. However, we’ve only been using it for two months and already one of the foundations (we got a split king) creaks and pops like crazy when getting in and out of bed or rolling over.

Our mattress and combined weight are well within the maximum load limit. I was also surprised when it came to feel that the solid portion feels like corrugated plastic or cardboard. It gives to the touch just when carrying it.

Perhaps I didn’t read things close enough before purchasing but I was expecting something more solid. Considering the price, I hope it will last us at least a few noisy years.

I have a Tempur-pedic mattress and I love it. But when we purchased a new bed frame which is a platform bed, I found my back was hurting. So upon the reccomendation of your website, I purchased a low-profile mattress platform.

Well, the platform is of very poor quality and not supportive in the least. It appears, (without taking off the fabric to be sure) to be made of cardboard on a wood frame! I would have done better to just buy a piece of plywood.

And the worst part is the thing is NOISY. It creaks and groans every time my husband moves or sits down on the bed. Definitley a poor product and I am very dissapointed.

Comforting and assuring to sleep on a solid foundation; very different feeling from the thin metal frames of old. Positions are helpful, particularly for patients who must sleep at a 45 degree angle.

However, it would be optimal if the height of the entire bed could be adjusted up and down using the remote control.

We bought this new in package from Appleton and when we got home with it,we discovered that there was a problem with one of the pieces. we are 50 miles from store so we called and left message with manager about the defect.

NEVER GOT a RETURN CALL from him about the issue. That is just BAD customer service- “we got your money, Too bad sooo sad”. appears to be the new motto. WE HAVE bought $k’s of product over the years and this has us thinking of purchasing elsewhere now.

I ordered recently and gave Plushbeds a chance to mitigate my problems, but to no avail. After comparing foundations available online and reading many reviews, I ordered two foundations for my daughters’ latex mattresses I opened one of the boxes to assemble the foundation.

I was horrified when I picked up the individual pieces and started to assemble them. The foundation we received only distantly resembles the image of the orthopedic foundation on the website. It appears to be put together with leftover materials from discarded pallets rather than the “sturdy wood” advertised.

First of all, the wood is so rough that it can’t be touched without heavy-duty gloves. For a list price of $313, I would expect each piece to be sanded, just like it appears on the image on the website.

Second, the individual pieces are not lined up perfectly. For instance, Plushbeds promises that the foundation is “perfectly aligned to prevent mattress damage over time. ” However, the center support rail sits about 1/4 inch lower than the outer rails.

Consequently, the whole foundation rests on that center piece rather than being distributed evenly on all rails. Moreover, many of the slats are warped, making a level platform for the mattress impossible.

Most pieces of wood are considerably damaged and look like scraps. Generally, workmanship is shoddy and sub-par, e. g. staples are bent over and obviously liberty was taken with measurements. When picking up the foundation to move it onto the bed, the whole frame twists and the slats, fastened only by velcro, come undone and move, requiring us to put the foundation down again, opening up the cover, and trying to re-fasten the slats.

This is certainly not the advertised “extra heavy duty design. ” We are very concerned that these foundations will not survive a move because they are so flimsily constructed.

The foundation does the job of raising the bed from a low frame to a nice height. It’s construction is a little janky, the smaller cross pieces fell out of place when moving it and getting the tightly fitting zippered cover on or off to get to the structure inside is frustrating.

Two other cross pieces broke, too – they’re easy to replace with lumber from a hardware store but I’d have expected very strong wood given how heavy the latex mattresses can be. On a positive note it’s not overly noisy when sleeping on it or moving at night.

Hopefully it stays that way.

the bed slats are weaker than expected. i had one to break while putting a small amount of pressure on it while assembling. naturepedic immediately replaced it , thank you. i have reservations about the sturdiness because when we lifted the mattress to put on the new set of slats another board had broken beside the first one.

it may have happened because of the extra pressure on it being beside the first one that broke.

We purchased this mattress base to go with our new Tempur-Pedic mattress and our custom upholstered bed we ordered. My husband and I are getting older and somehow getting more aches and pains; imagine that.

We decided that putting a little bit of extra money into quality sleep would be worth it. We had no idea just how much it really would be worth it. We use the zero-g feature every night before we fall asleep.

It takes all the pressure off of your back and lets you watch TV or read in a super comfortable position. My husband would prefer to sleep in zero-g but I am a side sleeper and it is not good for that.

This is where a split base would have been good but we didn’t feel like we needed it at the time since we didn’t know how life changing this base would be for us. We also use the massage feature regularly even though it doesn’t seem “strong” enough.

After using it a few times, we realized that it does make a difference and are enjoying it more now. We also love that it has a remote that allows easy control of everything. I am so glad we made this purchase; we are getting much better and higher quality sleep nightly.

Each and every morning, literally, each and every morning, my lower back was hurting for days (ice pack for 2 days, then heating pad). I noticed my new mattress had began to sag and when I pushed down on the boxspring, it was so weak that I could push down on it with my little finger.

Due to the new boxspring, I sleep comfortably every night. It is extremely firm and allows no sagging of my mattress. When you buy a new mattress, purchase a new boxspring also. This boxspring is of superior quality and I highly recommend the purchase of the same.

It helps to deliver a great nights sleep.

I told the staff I needed a base for my 6year old. They met him and knew the mattress and bed I was ordering since it was from them. Yet they offered me this base. I couldn’t believe they screwed me like that.

The bed frame is cheap and doesn’t size up with any mattress or base. And they don’t accept foundation returns. Every night my son falls off the bed and hurts himself. The night is bad enough, but the frame is bigger than the mattress significantly.

I’m going to have to buy another foundation that isn’t so high, toss the frame and I’m losing money thanks to the staff at Bobs.

The foundation is too small for my queen frame. I had the same foundation before, it cause rocking and bolts loosening which lead to the whole frame breaking. Fast forward to the second foundation which I had to purchase, and I am having the same issue.

I called customer service and got a text message from an associate and when I requested he call me instead it took 3 days and without a text response. After calling me 3 days later he pushed me along to someone through an extension who barely spoke English and basically told me all their solid foundations are this size.

No resolution came about. This is the last time I shop with bobs.
