20 Best Flooring For Rabbit Cage (2023 Updated)

Purchased for my two mini lops to have extended play all while being protected. 1st the description says this is foldable for easy storage: this does NOT fold up. Disappointing as this is one reason I purchased.

Only the top folds back for easy access to your animals. It is sturdy enough but I installed actual bolt locks rather than using the heart shaped plastic “locks”. Those just aren’t secure at all. It will also need to be staked into the ground to keep large animals from being able to move it around should they try.

If your bunnies dig-still need to keep an eye out to make sure they (or a predator) does not dig underneath.

It literally took me 15 minutes to assemble this outdoor pen. Sturdy with heavy wire, this pen is strong. The top lifts from either end to make rounding up your chickens, rabbits, tortoises etc. a much easier job.

Side doors can accommodate an easy entry and exit for free ranging chickens. A removable door can be added next to expand an existing chicken run. One downside about this is that the top is not secured.

I am adding a latch to both sides to keep it shut so that rascally raccoons cannot open it. It is light enough to move around the yard as needed for grass mowing or moving to a new tract of grass for foraging chickens.

This is perfect for my baby Sulcata tortoises. I zip tied the doors closed so my dogs can’t paw them open, and I can still easily access the inside through the roof openings. This has a sturdy construction and even though my small dogs have jumped on top, the unit has held up just fine.

The only problem that I had was putting the roof on. It’s supposed to attach with screws from the top, but they were nowhere near long enough. I solved the problem with more zip ties.

Now he has his tunnel he’s stopped trying to make one in my furniture. Worth every penny. He’s chewing it of course and the straps were the first things to go but small price to pay…

Overall pleased with product. My small dog uses this to stay in while we work outside to be safe from hawks. Strong enough to hold her with no problem. Very clean looking. Glad to have it. My only complaint is as many others have said terrible instructions even on product site and the stakes to hold to the ground are so putty soft it is ridiculous.

That said I would purchase again as long as it holds up to the weather and only time will tell on that.

This is a super toy for guinea pigs, degus and mini lop rabbits. I bought this for my quad of dwarf lop rabbits but unfortunately ithe tubes are too small for them and ultimately they’ve shown no interest.

So it didn’t work out well for us but I would highly recommend this quality product for small pets.

My two Guinea Pigs adore it, I’ve placed it in their large outside run. They chase into one tunnel and out through another, take in and munch their food in it, then fall asleep in it! Easy to clean too!.

I have purchased this same tunnel 2 times before for my cats so didn’t even think I needed to read the description – but it has been made smaller but is still the same price. So my biggest cat, who I mostly buy it for can’t fit in it.

So before you buy please check the size!.

I’ve had the same 50g liner for nearly 4 years that I continuously clean and it’s perfect. Great quality, easy to clean. I have a 10 year old bearded dragon who loves it. I tend to take it out, shake it off outside, then lay it on the floor and vacuum it with my vacuum cleaner.

Every once in a while I’ll wash and rinse it. It’s not the most absorbent liner out there and I sometimes have to scrub the bottom of the tank when liquids seep through, but it gets the job done, a lot less messier than substrates like sand(you shouldn’t use sand).

I recommend getting 2 so you can rotate them when you clean their cage and liner. Just bought a new liner for my upgraded tank, size 75g, and also bought one for my lizard’s 20g travel terrarium, for when we go out of town (in the photo).

Worth every penny, a lot easier to use and clean than other substrates, I highly recommend it.

I have a 50 gallon fish tank, so naturally I ordered the 55 gallon liner. I ordered two so I could clean one and have another while waiting for the first one to dry. The liner was way too long and not near wide enough.

I ended up having to cut both of them and now I basically spent double the amount for one liner. Very bummed and upset. It does look nice though. Norbert is happy, so I guess that’s all that matters.

I’ve used reptile carpets for a long time because of some health issues with my lizard awhile back. This carpet is as good as the others but a bit cheaper than some brands. They have many different sizes including a very large size which is perfect for my large terrarium.

I had to cut it to make it fit in 3 pieces but it is very easy to cut using a box knife. This is very easy to apply to your terrarium and can last many months before having to buy a new one. I wash mine every couple of weeks once it gets really dirty but I always spot clean my lizard’s poop.

After awhile of just rinsing it out you will notice it starting to smell and that’s when you need to buy a new one. The only downside is if you left poop harden to the carpet its difficult to scoop off and sometimes you need to scrub it off when cleaning.

If you stay on top of the poop this shouldn’t be a problem. This is an easier bedding to use but it is also cleaner if you’re worried about health issues for your reptile/amphibian. It does not allow for burrowing and sometimes my lizard will work his way under the carpet.

It’s personal preference to use a carpet like this but if you do then I recommend this brand.

My one female piggy, Kiara, is perhaps the most adventurous when it comes to trying new toys, especially Timothy based toys. She is a special piggy that needs constant chewing enrichment. At the start of this year, I would give her lots of wooden chews and tunnels for enrichment and sadly she got diarrhea and real sick from those.

That is when I saw this large May and was able to fold it into a tunnel for her. Not only does she enjoy running under the mat and through the tunnel, she LOVES to chew on the edges!! Great toy for any guinea piggies that need consist enrichment.

Hello! So just in hindsight if you see another review like this with the same name and info, that was an old account, this is a new account that all of my reviews will be on from now on. So let’s get with the review, my two male Abyssinian guinea pigs Alfie and Archie LOVE this Oxbow Timothy Hay chew mat.

I got the medium size for them, it’s a perfect size for guinea pigs. I think the large is for rabbits and bigger small pets. We have had this mat for 8 days now and they’ve chewed quite a bit, a good bit left though.

My boys love to lay on the mat, sit on it, and most importantly, chew it! The medium was a reasonable price for the size, I’m guessing the large would be to (I didn’t get one so I don’t know for sure) I 10/10 recommend this timothy mat for all small pets.

Please be aware that even though it’s made out of Timothy hay, this chew mat and any other hay chew toys should NOT be substitutes for fresh grass hay. Please provide your guinea pigs with fresh hay at all times :).

My two male guinea pigs Alfie and Archie love this Oxbow Timothy Hay chew mat! They have had one before in May, we ordered one again for them last week. They love to chew on it and lay on it, we have had it for 8 days now and its almost destroyed! Thats a good thing though since they really love it.

We got the medium size for them and its perfect. Oxbow is an amazing brand for all things small pet related! They are very trustworthy, we also use oxbow pellets, toys, and hay. We are going to try oxbow treats soon.

Please be aware this is not a substitute for hay, even though it is its just for fun purposes and you should always give your guinea pigs fresh hay. Definitely recommend for small pets.

I purchased the Rosewood activity tunnel for my two guinea pigs outside day run. It’s a great size and fits them comfortably. Easy to clean and dries super fast. Hose it off at the end of the day, hang to dry and its ready for use the next day.

Our rabbit was being very naughty as he was bored he needed something to do when in his run. This tunnel has been a big success. unfortunately he has eaten some of it but hes having a great time and getting lots of exercise.

I recommend this for bored bunnies.

This is a great cage. We got our 4 year old a bunny for Christmas. The bunny is young and with it being cold we needed to be able to keep it inside. This cage is great because it’s low to the ground and my daughter can get the bunny in and out easily.

The best part is the bottom grates are large but have holes for poop and pee to go through so the bunny stays out of the mess and with the removable tray it’s very easy to clean. I had noticed that the bunny was using one corner of the cage so I got a rabbit litter box and she has been using it.

The tray easily holds pee pads and bedding of choice for easy cleanup. You can remove the grates and clean up any excess mess with wipes. I am easily able to clean/change the whole cage inside within minutes without having to take it outside for a hose down.

The sides are high so much less mess, if any, outside the cage. The cage is easy to move around the house as needed. Set up was easy. Definitely recommend for an indoor bunny or even a guinea pig. There’s plenty of room (for now while she is little) and the ramp can be placed on either side.

I’m really happy with this cage overall and glad I found this one to purchase. Just as a side note, inside the cage is the rabbit litter box, a hanging feeder up on the second level, water bottle hanging from the outside.

Since the bunny is not using the whole cage as a potty, there is room to add a little bed or mat for her to lay on, or even a small tube hideout. We’ve had other small animals in the past and other small cages, and this is really my favorite so far.

I purchased this item for a 9-foot play pen and this tunnel fits with enough clearance. The velcro flaps allow you to contort the tunnel, and it stays contorted/velcroed after collapsing and reopening.

When collapsing, the fabric string pairs on each end slips away with one knot, so a tight double knot is recommended. I dislike removing the pair of double knots each time I use this item. My sweetheart Charles is a big-boned and his quick waddling in the tunnel causes the tunnel to shift viciously.

For this, I recommend placing the tunnel alongside a wall, or have one side supported by a heavy item for their comfort. My baby urinated in the tunnel and I successfully cleaned it with dish soap and water.

I do not feel comfortable putting this spunky item in a washing machine. The compact travel bag is wonderful. Overall, three stars because of the double knotting, and its ultra lightweightness making my baby feel self-conscious.

I recently wrote a review, not pleased with how the strings attached to the tube were tied in a tight knot making the tube unable to open. However, Chewy made things right (as usual) and sent me a new tube! My guinea pig loves it and runs laps through it.

It’s very easy to clean and wrap up. It isn’t very sturdy which is why I gave it 4 stars, it rolls or wobbles when my guinea pig walks through it. But overall this is a great product and would buy it again.

This is a wonderful product when used to create a home for your pocket pet; however, it must be paired with corrugated plastic (Coroplast) to make a complete cage. This product is one element of a C&C cage (the cubes), while the Coroplast is used as the smooth, lightweight, and easily cleanable flooring element in the cage.

I highly recommend this product as it provides a much larger space for your pet than the cages normally sold for small pets. Pair it with the Coroplast (sold in commercial signage stores) and a six-foot banquet table to create a large, raised home you and your pet will love.

Easy assembly. We did not have to use the hammers. Eventually We added zip ties. Before the zip ties, the squares would come apart. This only happened when my 8 year old climbed over to sit and play with her.

After the zip ties were added, it made the setup MUCH more sturdy. Around the second month of having this setup, my bun learned how to jump out. So after finessing a roof for another 2 months, I am back again to purchase another set to expand her cage and add a roof.

For the roof, I will be using zip ties for most of it, but some areas will be without a zip tie to easily remove the squares when I need to access the cage for cleaning. The door can easily open and close.

BUT the latch is a bit hard to use. Still very doable with some patience and finesse. If you are thinking about this vs. others without a door. Get this one. Its worth the extra few bucks. For the flooring, we added corrugated plastic (also Found on Walmart).

We added some pink peel and stick wallpaper on top of the plastic for some pizzazz. This is a great buy! Hope this review helps.

Had to purchase different hinges as they installed the same on both sides. When I picked it up after assembling, the side cracked. Also had to repair that.

Desperately tried to buy another and none available. If I find one I certainly would buy it. Convenient, I don’t have to keep going out to refill my rabbits bowl and the other bowl takes Snowy’s biscuits easily.

One fills the bottle tip it into its holder and it gradually leaks out into the bowl as the level goes down. Simple idea,.

Bought for my syrian hamster cage, nice and spacious for hamster with lots of space for bedding and substrate. Also flat top means she can climb on top, looks nice in her large enclosure too. May however be too small for adult guinea pigs and is probably more suitable for rats and larger hamsters.

Quick delivery and good quality for the price though!.

These are good houses however I was surprised as they are smaller than I thought they would be. One guinea pig would fit nicely with space but any more would be a squeeze, luckily I ordered 4

This is the worst product ive ever received. not just from chewy, not just for pets, but ever. $60 for this cheap stuff? really? The pieces arent even close to the same length. its not like theyre. 5 mm off, theyre about half an inch from fitting.

thats way too much room. All of the pieces are bent and also made of cheap flimsy plastic. I am going to be throwing this away without hesitation. I am disappointed and will never, ever buy anything from chewy again.

I highly recommend that no one buys this product and I am thoroughly convinced that there are fake positive reviews for this.

The plastic connections are brittle and easily broken. The hooks that hold the door in place do not line up with the wire they are attached to, so opening the up-and-over door is time consuming and frustrating.

There is no way to secure the sliding door, so a cat or other animal can easily slide it open. The hideaways inside the cage are small and only suitable for guinea pig size maximum, yet the cage is advertised as suitable for a rabbit.

Even a small rabbit could not get through the hideaway door. Definitely not worth the money I paid for it, and not suitable for my small rabbit.

so there are a few design issues a a others have stated. The hide would be nice if it had other holds on all sides instead of just the back to make a bit more stable. The water bottle is AWFUL it will not stay in the holder so buy a different one.

For the price it is amazing, my daughter has 1 guinea pig that could still be considered a baby. We did have a FULL SIZE adult guinea pig in it and he loved it as well. I wouldn’t have 2 in this cage together as there wouldn’t be enough room.

If you have a small animal cleaner the “grips” on thr platform do come clean just might need to wipe from all angles. I would highly recommend this cage just might need a few tweaks here and there and definitely a different water bottle.

Large,sturdy,beautiful wooden house. The 43cm one gives enough of space for two adult guinea pigs.

A very good size for our 2 chinchillas. As soon as I put it in the cage they were inside having a sniff. They will chew on it and destroy over time but at the moment it is standing up well.

First off, not so easy to put together as what the man in the tutorial was able to do. He made it look so easy – snap, snap, snap. My wife and I had one heck of a time trying to snap pieces together.

The rubber mallet is a MUST and even when pegs lined up with holes, using the mallet to put the pieces together did absolutely no good. Was quite aggravating and at times just had to walk away from the project.

When putting the mollies and screws in through the black plastic “bars” the guy in the video says to always screw it into the farthest hole. Not so, because the plastic bar that goes in the rear of the cage, the molly and screw need to go into the hole closer to the inside and not the farthest one.

Just laying the plastic bar on the back, as compared to the front, you can see that the back of the cage is not as tall as the front of the cage. Another problem was putting the rods down through the cages after they were put together.

Some of the holes weren’t completely hollowed out. So I used my drill bit to remove the “overhang” of the excess plastic that was preventing the metal bars from sliding through the holes. I had problems with the cages coming apart when moving them, so I used one person’s suggestion of using zip-lock ties to secure the cages.

I also listened to some suggestions from the man at Coturnix Corner. I purchased the automotive drip pans to use in place of the trays you provide so that the poop from the above cages doesn’t drop into the bird feeding trough below.

I also purchased the horizontal nipples to replace the ones that you provide so that if the water gets “low” in the water line the quail will still get water (unless, of course, there is a blockage in the line).

All in all, I am 73 y. o. so I was not up to building cages from wood and cage wire, so the purchase of these cages was my next best bet to getting what I needed.
