I’d give ZERO stars! I’ve used advantage ii for 7 yrs & after each one time application I saw no more fleas! This product was by Bayer! It is now by Elanco & is turned into an awful product! My cats are bald from hips to feet, another long haired is now scraggly, they’re ripping themselves constantly scratching.
I bought it from chewy, petco & petsmart since August & I’m not very happy at all. One cat might even have been sickened from it, to the point of serious hospitalization, but no one believes me because they’ve not received any info this product is now dangerous for cats.
No I am going to demand my money back from Elanco for every box I bought proof of receipts because I’ve used the product & discarded the box, but my receipts prove I purchased Elanco advantage ii & not Bayer advantage ii.
I always buy the spray that is made to spray on cats of advantage ii & use it specifically to use on their bedding because I know if it’s formulated to use on cats by them laying on their bedding it’s safe enough.
I’m even suffering from intense itch, because of coming in contact with this product, on my cats without touching where it’s on them & spraying their bedding! I don’t have carpeting etc. My cat that’s in the hospital told me he was full of fleas! I put it on him 2 weeks ago! IT DOES NOT WORK! now I’ll have to buy revolution & I will be looking into further action (BBB) to be sure this product by Elanco is held responsible & be pulled off the market.
No wonder it’s price has dropped from $56. 98 to $45. 98 it’s garbage.

3 fully indoor cats here. One suddenly came down with tapeworms – an indicator of fleas – even though we haven’t seen a single flea. We also do not have a rodent or insect problem in the house, so I was certain it was from fleas.
On a recommendation of a Veterinarian, I purchased the 3 month supply of this product to treat all 3 cats on the assumption that if one has fleas they all do. Treated all 3 cats at the same time. In less than 3 weeks, adult fleas were spotted on the cat that had the tapeworms.
Ended up taking him to the vet, who confirmed fleas and gave him an Rx Flea treatment (again!) in addition to an Rx for tapeworms to be safe. This does not work. Please do not waste your money!.

CapAction Oral Flea Tablets for Cats keep pests from attacking your feline friend and will kill 90% of adult fleas in the first 6 hours after ingestion. This product is suitable for cats that weigh between 2 and 25Lbs.
and as young as four weeks old. CapAction continues working for up to 24 hours. Ideal to use for a few days to knock out the infestation and then follow up with a topical product or flea collar. Works like a prescription without the vet visit.
Yes it does work but you have to understand HOW. I’ve seen plenty of negative reviews stating it doesn’t work after a a few days, a week or more, which shows people don’t read instructions or know how a product works.
This pill is only effective for 18-24 hours. You still have fleas and flea eggs in your home, in rugs, carpet, your bedding, on your furniture or pet bedding, anywhere your pet lays or sits where fleas can jump and lay eggs.
This product only kills the adults fleas that live on the pet and bite, the larvae or eggs will hatch and bite after the pill has stopped working. So you need to keep giving the animals these pills daily for an extended time or switch to a topical treatment to continue the process of killing off the fleas that attach and bite after the pill stops working.
Also you need to vacuum and wash bedding or find flea and egg killing cleaners and sprays to use around your home to prevent the fleas from continuing their life cycle and coming back. So yes this pill works but it’s not meant to be a long term fix for an infestation of fleas in your home or on your pet(s).
They changed the name of this. I swear it used to be FastCaps and cost $15 less. Now they want you to pay $25 and they don’t guarantee that you’ll be flea free longer than a week. They do work right away.
Within 5 minutes my cats were going crazy itching because the fleas were going nuts. But fleas came back after a week. My dog is on Bravecto, which last three months. He was getting an occasional flea on his face every day or so.
He was still itching like mad the first month. I don’t know if the Bravecto was 10% effective or not. It could that he reinvested the cats. My point is this is very expensive for a treatment that isn’t long lasting.
They could become reinstated. I have three cats so it’s only good for two treatments. The box even says you can give them a second pill as soon as the next day. So how long lasting are these pills really? When they used to be $10 I was okay with that.
Not anymore since the price increase. I’m looking for alternatives. I’m leaning towards the natural line of bath products and sprays that won’t harm my skin or my kids.
We used these for one of our feral friends who started exhibiting bald spots, possibly from fleas. Because we can’t get close to administer Advantage this oral medication was perfect. We put it in wet food and he ate it quickly, unlike some pills where cats eat around, spit out, etc.
We hope to see improvements in his bald spots over the next two weeks. This is also great because you can administer back to back, with no 30-day wait in between.

12. Advecta II Flea Drops for Large Cats – 4 count
Protect your feline friend from pests with the Advecta II Flea Drops for Large Cats. This flea drop formula is designed for large cats over nine pounds, offering all the protection they need with the same active ingredients as Advantage II.
This set contains a four-month supply of waterproof flea drops that protect your cat from fleas, flea eggs and flea larvae.
Okay so here’s my story which is 100% non-fiction. I have several felines and they are my world along with our two pups. In caring for them all as I am a retired healthcare employee, I love being able to be home with them and flea free too.
For years I purchased Frontline and Advantage for cats and dogs. Used to work like magic until years later it stopped working and I was left with cartons of the product. In comes Advecta Plus for cats.
I was desperate to locate their new fleas don’t live here antedote. Lucky for us Walmart sells this and under lock and key which I love and it cuts down on theft plus there’s always adequate numbers in stock meaning I can leave with what I came in to purchase.
Here’s what I’ve noticed thus far: You must put the entire pre-dosed vial (use just 1 per cat) ( there are 4 vials in one box) just above their shoulder blades. Why? because my cats turn immediately around and licked it which began a short movie of spatting and foaming at the mouth.
Didn’t appear to hurt them thank goodness but if you can prevent it why not. The instructions tell you to put it between their shoulder blades. So far zero fleas and I can tell because one of my cats has such a terrible allergy to fleas that she rips her hair out and is covered with scabs.
Learned this quickly so no delay in her monthly does; 30 days to be exact between doses. It works and it saves me hundreds of dollars per year switching to this brand. $29. 95 I believe is the cost of this box as it is for “Large cats over 9 pound” cats.
And last I shopped the Small Cat box of 4 individual vials sells for just under $20. 00. Lasting, I order on line and have it shipped. Arrives lickety split! :).

My cat was covered in fleas. No matter what I did, they kept multiplying. Out of desperation, I tried this product. The first 2-3 hours after application, I noticed my cat scratching A LOT. I thought she was having a reaction to it.
Then, she stopped. Completely. 6 hours after application, she jumped up on my desk and when I put her on the floor, I noticed about a dozen dead fleas on my desk. So I combed her. No live fleas. None whatsoever.
Within SIX hours! I’m absolutely thrilled with this product. I think my cat is even happier.
