Best Final Fantasy For Ds (2025 Updated)

I was never a big fan of the original like so many who bought this game (though I lived through it as a kid and remember how exciting it all was), but despite only having basic knowledge of the general cast and plot points, I was blown away and really enjoyed the remake.

It did a great job of fleshing out the world and characters in a way that was clearly intended by the developers in 1997, but couldn’t be done due to the lack of resources and capabilities of that generation.

The combat is fast, fluid, and fun. The characters are all interesting. The visuals are top notch. The music is great. The cutscenes are awesome. The acting is well executed. The only real knock against the game are the side quests, which are downright boring, and do little more than extend overall playtime and act as pointless filler.

That’s really about it. The main game is fantastic, and I’m looking forward to the next part in the remake series.

I really have to say how impressive this game was. From start to finish the experience was flawless, from its amazing battle system transforming the classic ATB into the ideal standard for modernization of what Final Fantasy should potentially be.

The voice acting was perfectly executed, graphically superb with the rendered scenes alongside game content these transitions from scenes to gameplay were absolutely seamless. There is hardly anything that this title failed to deliver, but the learning curve may take time to truly master however as you reach the final acts you will definitely be feeling the need to jump on into the hard mode or even just doing a second playthrough in general.

Amazingly addictive combat with each character feeling uniquely different and overall diversity with each character bringing something to the table. Lastly the boss encounters were the most amazing pieces of content offering a true spectacle of epic performance.

The pacing is also near perfect, with some sidequests feeling a bit tacked on but when all said and done most of it all works out for the better, that being either character development or aiming to obtain optional boss encounters includes classic summons.

I give Final Fantasy VII Remake- 4. 8 out 5.

The original Final Fantasy VII is one of my favorite games of all time so when I heard of the remake I was excited, but also skeptical – especially since I heard that turned based combat would be removed.

However, this is a very well done remake. The new combat system feels fresh and really makes the nuances of each character stand out. Many side quests and characters from the original game have been reimagined and it’s added a lot more humanity to the people you interact with.

My only critique of the game has to do with how tedious it can be to obtain all of the skill books for each character. This usually involves replaying several acts multiple times. In some ways this is nice because you really do have to play the game differently on the Hard difficulty level, but it can also be a bit of a slog.

Overall, this is still one of my favorite games this year. PSA – You may have heard about copies of the deluxe edition not having the soundtrack. I was one of the unlucky ones who had this happen. When I bought the game I thought that the soundtrack was digital.

By the time I realized it was supposed to be a physical soundtrack I already had the game for weeks and didn’t think Best Buy would believe me if I said something. In short, make sure your deluxe edition is complete.

For this game to look good, on your PS2, you need good connections to HD test. There are component cables, but I found that terrible. So used a converter cable PS2 to HDMI, and the screen play improved a lot.

The game is somewhat loopy, and the humor is groaner,groaned,, but I enjoy it. Gets a little difficult, while you adjust battles, and alchemy. Well worth playing many times. One girl player, kinda hangs out of her outfit to borderline ummmm.

Just a parents warning. lol.

This game has it all: Engaging turn-based combat, an intriguing plot, a great cast of characters, decent music, plenty of areas to explore in a beautiful world, weapons and items to collect, a decent and challenging post-game, a new camera mode, and a TON of other extras.

The 3DS version even has two additional characters that join the party. Random encounters have been removed; you can see what you’ll be encountering on the map. My only minor complaint is that the 3D effect isn’t used, but the game already looks quite nice without it.

I’ve read this wasn’t added as DQ VIII, since it was originally a PS2 game, was pushing the 3DS hardware already. This is, hands down, one of the best Dragon Quest games out there!.

DQ VIII is simply one of the best RPG games ever made. It is a masterpiece of art and graphics as well as a deep story line. The voice acting is superb, better than most movies made today. there is an extremely wide variety of villains, victims and good folk.

The story itself is tightly interwoven as it unfolds across a massive world that you can and must explore. For old school RPG gamers, this game is the ultimate blend of fun, challenges and GRINDING! Once you start to play you will not want to put this game aside.

If you’re a fan of turn based, old school RPG’s and just love to hunt Metal Slimes, this is the game for you!.

Wii Mario Game: Another great Mario Game from Nintendo This Mario game for the Wii was loads of fun and a big hit with my kids. I tried it out first, since I’ve been playing nintendo since the very first Mario game in the eighties.

I put the disc in and proceeded to start it from the menu, but once the screen loaded I was confused as I was trying to maneuver mario around the screen. After some intial confusion, I realized I was supposed to hold the controller sideways like a traditional gamepad instead of the usual way of holding wii controllers like a baton.

After that was sorted out, everything worked like a dream. The controls function just like previous style controllers (as long as you’re holding it as such). During gameplay that controller even has a special ability specific to the way, where the player can shake the controller up and down to execute a special mario move such as flying up in the air(using the propeller hat) or twirling around with your arms out.

My child loved this ability to make mario fly with the propeller hat by shaking the control. That’s basically all she did on every level. Ha As far as gameplay, it’s pretty traditional for a mario game.

You advance through the game from a world map menu where you direct Mario where to go. Each level ends with a boss battle in a castle. My child seemed very motivated to reach the castles and bea the bosses and found it fun.

She is 10 and has autism and is not too coordinated or cognitively advanced like a normal child, so for her to stay interested and motivated says a lot for how engaging and well produced the game is.

The graphics looked superb. They reminded me of the N64 Mario with similarly styled castle and font choices. Sounds were fun as typical with boops and beeps when hitting coin blocks. Occasionally a sound will eminate from the controller unexpectedly (like when you get a mushroom).

In summary, this was a surprising hit with the family and was enjoyed even more than Wii sports, which was the previous fan favorite.

I recently received this Refurbished Super Mario Bros. game for Wii. My nephew comes over a lot and brings his Switch but doesn’t bring the part that connects it to the TV, so having a console (old as it is) and games is great! This came with the original case which isn’t always possible with used (refurbished) games.

It has a booklet inside on how to view the game instructions online (if available) as well as showing different generic warnings. The game works perfectly and barely has any noticeable signs of use or scratches on the disc.

It’s a really cute Mario game. I used to play Mario Bros. when I was young as well. Other than Goldeneye, it was always my favorite (showing my age a bit)! Also, refurbished products from Voomwa come with contact information in case the items are damaged and will be replaced.

Overall, I’m very happy with it!.

The cartridge was in great condition, they packed my order and shipped it out super quick! Really well packed. I was so happy to know that they had a copy of my childhood game. So many great memories that this game gives me.

I will definitely order from them again really soon and to start bulding my childhood collection again.

i got a copy of the original game in a trade for super mario world, back in 8th grade. i played the hell out of it. it was my favorite game and for the most part still is. i still have that copy somewhere.

i played the PlayStation version just for the extra features, but felt the lack of the original intro and slight resolution difference made it less enjoyable, and felt the cutscenes were unnecessary.

it was still fun and some of the new stuff was worth the playthrough. i felt like owning it for my 3ds would be a great way to make my favorite rpg portable and i was curious of the new features for it so i bought a copy and have yet to get very far but its definitely a great way to take it on the go.

i had tried to run an emulator on my psp to play it before that got stolen half a decade or so ago but it never ran very smooth. part of the experience just isnt the same when things are choppy or the music gets screwed up.

the music is kind of a big part of this game. this was one of the most revolutionary games of its time. there can be no game quite as satisfying to play for many reasons. it would take a short novel’s worth of talk to help you understand my love for this game in any form.

instead let me just say if you have yet to play it, you need to do so. i recommend the snes version to anyone who can get it and has a working system but if you can’t or you’d rather play on the go, get the ds version and prepare yourself for a wild ride through time and space.

this is the rpg that broke the mould for me and many others, and any jrpg fan owes it to themselves to try this one and have an experience they will never forget or recreate.

years ago, a child had never played an RPG, had heard of others who had played such games. The Mana series, the FF series. After waiting, the child heard of a game called “Chrono Trigger” made by the notorious Squaresoft.

At that point, the child asked his parents for the title for christmas, to which the parents agreed. Yay! Now all he had to do was wait to finally play a such RPG that others had played, HOWEVER little did he know what was in store to come! On the first December after this RPG’s release, the child’s anxiety level would increase ever so slightly with each passing moment.

However, the fates did not show favor to the child, as on the very day that the child was to receive the game, the child fell ill. with a mildly hot fever. HOWEVER! Though the child was ill, when he finally awoke that afternoon, he was bedazzled to find the game sitting atop his sheets, all the while the child feeling completely unworthy of it’s pwnership.

And that was what began a 3 year long obsession I had with this game. Many things, if not all things, have already been said over the past 14 years. Now, this game bears it’s third american format, thus now a beautifully portable format at that.

However, I do not like redundant comments that are more generic than most of todays games. This game is a legend. I do not care what’s been added, taken away, changed, spiced up, or any other way to specify change.

Many games have history in this world. This was a game that not only made history, but continues to changes its own future as well as those who are blessed with playing this Role-Playing Giant. Love the DS version, or hate it, I don’t care, but this game will never die.

I’d been recommended this game multiple times over the years, first playing a snipet on an emulator and finally purchasing the game for myself. It’s a truly remarkable game with a simple but effective and enjoyable combat system.

The game play is exciting and the manner of progressing through the game is so clever and cute that it really makes you want to work for those next areas and that’s just icing on the cake. If you like a lot of the playstation games, especially around the late 90’s era, you just might love this game.

You start by choosing from a female or male character as well as the weapon they use(although you are not limited to this weapon) and begin with only having access to your home area. In no time, however, you begin collecting ‘artifacts’ that open up new areas to play and complete quests in.

There are multiple story lines to follow, introducing you to numerous colorful characters through the game. I haven’t finished it yet but from what I’ve seen, it’s a delightful little game worth the purchase.

I absolutely love this game with its hand drawn animation and compelling story archs that make this an instant PSX classic among the RPG genre. Im so glad to have picked this up even if it is a little above average on price compared to pricecharting.

Arguably the best game in the Mana series. I bought this copy sealed, but speaking from previous experience, it is worth playing should you get the opportunity. There are dozens of quests, the battle system is engaging and the choices you make actually do matter.

Brings me way back to when video games were about just having fun. 4. 5 out of 5 stars all the way.

The Professor Layton DS series keeps me wanting to replay the games. The nostalgic gameplay & art graphics are beyond amazing. The puzzles are challenging & great workout for the brain. Perfect for those who enjoys adventure stories & puzzles or reliving the Layton series again.

Supremly good value out of a pre-owned product. Although two files were already on it it still had space for me to start a new file and experience the whole story from start to finish and experience the addictive puzzles and mind-blowing revelations in a tragicly beautiful story common only to this series.

This is an awful product as I bought it. I bought it used. Now let’s circle back. These games are awesome. Full stop. To me they’re the last of the “old school Final Fantasy” titles. The writing is solid, characters compelling, settings rich, and music, in true Final Fantasy fashion, outstanding.

I would recommend ANYONE into jrpg in specific or just great games in general purchase and download this from the e-shop on your console of choice (I’m on the Switch). The hard copy, however, only comes with FFX; FFX-2 is had via download using an included code.

I didn’t know this when I bought my copy. The clown I bought it from mentioned it in the listing, but he didn’t go out of his way to make that easy to see. He just wasn’t a very good person. But the game is awesome.

Just make sure you buy it new, and before you do that, if you’re buying a hard copy, make sure your console’s e-shop still has X-2 available for download. I would just recommend downloading it.

This ps3 version of the remaster comes with the art book, unlike the ps4 version that has other collectibles. As for gameplay, everything is about the same and I didn’t notice anything different. Graphically it is upgraded to be clearer and more colorful, but shadows and facial expressions are more realistic on the original FFX on ps2.

Aside from a few nitpicks on this remaster, I can’t complain much!.

Final Fantasy X dates as far back as the golden age of Square Enix, specifically the days of the Playstation 2. While it’s direct sequal does the same, it is not remembered quite so well by so many. Along with the rogue-like Final Fantasy X/X-2, this collection will be something that just about anyone will find themselves enjoying.

The first of the trio offers a great story, but is plagued by dreadful mini-games. Should you be up for a challenge then they will definitely be to your liking. However, they do not offer much in the way of replay value.

You can go through the main story and find yourself pleasently satisfied. The summons and sphere grid are perhaps my favorite features though, and offer a truly extensive progression system. The new magic system was interesting and showed that Square Enix was still very much relevant.

The game introduces an element that continues in the sequal much like the magic system, blitz ball. While I won’t go into too much detail about this, it can all be very enjoyable. The second of the trio is Final Fantasy X-2 and is commonly referred to as a Final Fantasy X spin-off of Charlie’s Angels.

Be that as it may, this does not mean that it is a bad game. The complete lack of the mini games that plagued Final Fantasy X is perhaps it’s strongest advantage. However, it brings quite a few annoying obstacles of its own, like the card game.

But it offers branching story lines and multiple endings for you to enjoy. I reiterate that it is in no way an inferior game. The dress sphere grid brings the classes of old Final Fantasy in for all to enjoy and there are unique ways to unlock each and every one.

The rogue-like is a great diversion at best. It even reminds me of the Pokemon Dungeon games. With all the typical rogue-like elements, you will find yourself engaged if you give it the chance. While there are quite a few suprises for you to enjoy, I won’t tell you about them so you may discover them for yourself.

It is a game collection that will still stand up to todays JRPGs. Finding it at a low price like I did will be the best time you’ve had for such a cheap and cheerful price.

No other game comes close to pushing the DS to its fullest potential like The World Ends With You. The story takes place in the real life districts of Tokyo with familiar landmarks like the Hachiko Dog and hits hard on themes of awareness, open mindedness, and a reminder that the world is only as big as you perceive it to be.

The music is a mix if upbeat electronic dance and hip hop. Think Samurai Champloo. Calling is my favorite track. The gameplay takes place on both screens at once forcing the player to control two characters at the same time.

It sounds a lot harder than it is and auto battle is there for those that would rather focus on the protagonist. But for those of you willing to turn off the auto battle there is a bonus for doing so.

There are RPG elements like leveling up your character and equipping clothing that grants stat bonuses. There’s also a bit of a Pokemon/Yo-kai element to the pins in this game. All your attacks are generated from pins that you collect throughout the game and level up.

Pins evolve based on what type of experience they’ve earned: Mingle – Shutdown – Battle Mingle experience is earned by leaving the game in sleep mode and coming across other DS systems or waiting for “aliens” to grant you a massive boost in exp.

Shutdown experience is earned by playing other games or leaving the system off. When you load your save file you’ll earn experience based on how much time has passed since you last played. Battle experience is earned simply by defeating the never ending supply of enemies in the game.

For the achievers out there this game has plenty of collectibles and takes upwards of 50 hours to max out everything. For the more casual gamer this is still an adventure worth taking at 10-20 hours depending on how quickly you solve the games puzzles.

This game uses the microphone, the touch screen, all the face buttons, shoulder buttons, wireless mode, and even when your not playing it your earning experience. The game design is way ahead of it’s time and the themes are more relevant than ever here in the states.

I say it’s a must buy but it’s fact that this is a must play.

The World Ends With You: Final Remix is fantastic, with it’s very unique story, it’s diverse and excellent soundtrack and it’s outstanding and stylish visuals in which I find it hard to believe this was a Nintendo DS title.

The Final Remix version of this game looks great and sounds great, only complimenting the game even further, however with all these good things, there is only one glaring issue, that being controls. You can play in two ways, in docked mode with a Joy-con and Handheld mode with touch controls, the only ideal way to play this game is with the touch controls.

The docked controls IS playable, however one the Joy-con goes off center, you’ll need to realign it, which only takes a few seconds, however, those are a few seconds that take you out of the experience, plus a lot of actions to activate your attacks are best done through touch controls.

This game is amazing and without a doubt one of Tetsuya Nomura’s greatest works, if you can tolerate the Joy-con controls or make use of the touch controls, this JRPG is a blast to play.

This game is very good! It has Mario and his best friends. Such as, yoshi, peach, donkey kong, daisy, wario, yellow yoshi, blue yoshi, light blue yoshi toad, yellow toad, blue toad, green toad,loops, goomba, blue goomba (the one from level 2) , pirahna’s plant, toadsworth, waluigi, bowser, bowser jr.

, baby mario, baby donkey kong, mini mario, metal mario, dry bones, thwomp, wiggler, wiggler (angry), and last but not least, lu -cario from the pokemon series. It is fun! Ok bye.

Decently-Solid Mario Party game. The only handheld version in the series. Board design could be better. Only 2 of the 5 boards play with regular “20-coin-moving-star” rules. Story is unique but very short and simple.

Unlockables are present but only used to look at. Mini-games are great! Some are easier than others yet the DS’s dual screen, mic, and touch capabilities are used nicely. Some 2v2 games have terrible to amazing AI so is sometimes unpredictable.

Collect coins, trade for stars. “Free item” spaces along with underground shops where you can buy and dump up to 3 items. If you enjoy MP 4 and 5 the DS version will feel fairly comfortable. Nice extras and multi-player options as well.

A minor disappointment overall.

I purchased this game to play in my offtime at work, and it was great for that. It isn’t the worst Mario Party I’ve ever played, but the last board of the story mode feels like you’re intentionally getting bad rolls, random effects, or outrageous mini game scenarios that are designed to make you lose.

I beat the first 4 boards in one go, and played the last board over 20 times to attempt to beat it. Up until that point it was a pleasant experience. The difficulty ramp from board 4 to 5 is ridiculous and unnecessary.

That being said, I feel like I got my moneys worth and enjoyment out of it, but sad that it left a bad taste in my mouth towards the end.

Xenoblade Chronicles\n\nThe game itself is fantastic. One of my all time favorites from 30 years of gaming. It is beyond easy to get lost inside the game’s world. It actually feels alive and it’s exciting to see what’s around the next corner.

The gameplay is simple enough to pickup, but with enough nuance to really get into it if you so desire. The story is incredible, and full of emotional twists and turns. There is also loads of side quest and optional stuff to keep you busy.

Especially if, like me, you tend to want to find everything in these types of games. I really cannot recommend Xenoblade enough. Especially now that it’s easier than ever to get your hands on. \n\nShipping/Logistics\n Arrived relatively early in the day (10am, give or take), on the day of release.

Delivery driver even made sure to verify my ID. Only issue is the corner of the game box itself, inside the larger brown packaging box, is damaged. Which, although somewhat minor overall, is still upsetting given that this is a collector’s edition.

Xenoblade Definitive Edition has a great cast and story that spans huge beautiful environments to explore. This updated version looks better than ever and has a bunch of Quality of Life improvements like much easier side quest tracking for NPC’s and needed items, plus a mode you can enable to adjust your character levels down and up with your currently accrued character experience to adjust the difficulty! Beyond quality of life improvements there’s also an epilogue story that picks up with some of the cast after the events of the main game and I enjoyed it a lot! If you give Xenoblade DE a go, be sure to play Xenoblade 2 which is an indirect sequel to Definitive Edition and I love both games a lot!!.

Omg this game is so gorgeous. Monolith did a great job with the remaster. The soundtrack is good and I love the voice acting. The story is good and the weird combat system takes a moment to get used to but will keep on your toes.

Did I mention how breathtakingly beautiful it is makes you wish you visit this world.

The item was in phenomenal shape, with no damage to the case, manual, or cartridge. While it may be less loved than other entries in the Kingdom Hearts saga, it holds a special place in my heart, as it delves deeper into the stories behind Roxas, Axel, and the rest of Organization XIII.

Its a phenomenal story, and one that every Kingdom Hearts fan should experience firsthand. I highly recommend this game to anyone, especially at this fantastic price.

The gameplay is fairly smooth, though the panel system can complicate things a little bit. The story, though, more than makes up for it. Days has probably the best story in the Kingdom Hearts series, and actually playing through the game lets you see so many great moments that got left out of the cutscene movie, the light novel, and the manga.

It’s definitely worth playing, in my opinion.

This is not my favorite kingdom hearts game – however, it is a fun little title to play. It is all about completing “missions” as a member of Organization XIII, which is a bit blocky in terms of gameplay (doesn’t allow for a whole lot of exploration and free play), but there are some neat features, like being able to play as different members of the organization.

It’s a great way to pass the time if you are feeling low energy and just need something to do. The story is kind of lukewarm – it’s a bit nauseating and doesn’t provide anything really of substance. At the same time, it remains hopeful and light unlike a lot of games out there with violent and dark themes – it’s all about “heartfulness,” friendship, and growing up.

I recommend it to all ages, but particularly to younger children/adults. Enjoy!.

Set some time after The Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass opens with Tetra and her pirate crew along with Link chasing down a ghost ship claimed to have taken sailors and residents of the local islands. The crew discovers the ship, but when Tetra goes aboard to explore, she disappears.

Link attempts to follow her but ends up adrift in the ocean. Link later recovers through the help of the fairy Ciela, who has some amnesia about her past, and an old man named Oshus, who help Link on his quest to find the ghost ship and reunite with Tetra.

To that end, they enlist the help of the reluctant Captain Linebeck and his ship after saving him from the Temple of the Ocean King; Linebeck only offers to help with the expectation of finding treasure along the way[5].

Link discovers that to learn of the ghost ship’s position, they must find the Spirits of Courage, Wisdom, and Power, using maps and clues hidden in the Temple of the Ocean King. However, to overcome the evil forces in the Temple, Link must make use of the Sands of Hours within the Phantom Hourglass and possessed by other creatures around the islands to prevent his life force from being drained.

With the aid of the Hourglass, Link is able to locate and ally with the Spirits of Wisdom and Power easily, but the Spirit of Courage he finds looks exactly like Ciela. Oshus explains that Ciela is actually the Spirit of Courage and she lost her memory when Bellum attacked her.

He also reveals that he himself is the Ocean King. Oshus further explains that he and Ciela had to take their present forms to hide from the life-eating monster Bellum, who is the cause of the ghost ship and other evil in the local area, and has taken residence at the very depths of the Temple.

Link succeeds in his attempt to rescue Tetra with the help of the three Spirits, but finds Tetra is now a statue, a further effect of Bellum’s life-draining power. Link is ready to continue but Linebeck initially refuses to help further having come up empty-handed for treasure so far, though agrees to continue once Oshus promises to grant Linebeck one wish after Link’s quest is complete.

The weapon to banish Bellum Link learns that the only way to defeat Bellum is to forge the Phantom Sword from three unique, “pure” metals around the local islands. After collecting the materials and forging the Phantom Sword, Link descends to the bottom level of the Temple, and initially appears to defeat Bellum.

Tetra is freed from the statue form and revived, but before the group can celebrate, Bellum reemerges from the ocean depths and takes Tetra again. In the ensuing battle of the S. S. Linebeck and the ghost ship, Linebeck’s ship is lost, as well as Oshus, and Link and Tetra are captured.

Linebeck reluctantly picks up the Phantom Sword and is able to free Link and Tetra, at the cost of his own freedom, but is able to give Link back the Phantom Sword before Bellum possesses Linebeck and turns him into a Phantom-like knight, but Link is ultimately able to vanquish Bellum without harming Linebeck.

As the adventure closes, the sand from the Phantom Hourglass is released into the sea. Oshus, now in his true form of a white blue whale, readies to depart with the Spirits, while Linebeck, surprising everyone, wishes not for treasure but for his ship back.

After everyone says their goodbyes, Link and Tetra find themselves back on the pirate ship, where it seems only ten minutes have passed for the rest of the crew and they insist that it was all a dream.

When compared to most games, the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is a pretty good game. But because of the high quality of the Zelda series, it’s fairly middle of the road for a Zelda. After playing it once several years ago and then again recently, I understand better what the programmers were intending with the one dungeon that you have to visit 8 different times – each time you’re a little stronger/better so it shows growth.

But it does get a little tedious having to go there so much. However, this game is TONS more fun if you have a friend with the same game to play with! My wife and I each have one and we play together.

The multiplayer mode isn’t great, but it’s the ability to trade treasures and ship parts with someone else that makes it fun. What might only get me 50 rupees on my file might get a friend 1500 and vice versa.

In this way not only are you looking out for valuable things for yourself, but also for someone else. Plus trading extra ship parts is easier to get a full set. 8/10 Stars.

Following the events of The Wind Waker, Link sets on a quest to save his friend Tetra from the ghost ship that kidnapped her. With the help of the fairy Ciela (who has Navi’s sound but isn’t nearly as annoying as her), Link travels through temple after temple solving ridiculous puzzles and meeting a lot of weird, funny, and even loveable characters.

That, in a nutshell, is why I like this game! It’s definitely an underrated gem in the Zelda franchise, overshadowed by other successful games. The graphics are good (considering the time period of this game), the writing is excellent and the story is even better.

The twist at the end where Oshus is the Ocean King? My mind was blown away. All in all, a must-play game for any ds/3ds family owner.

This was a Game, case and booklet purchase for Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition. The condition of the game, and all contents was near perfect, it looked brand new. DKOldies has been wonderful with every purchase made.

The gameplay is incredible considering it’s a handheld system. There is no lag in play, I am very happy with this purchase.

Most portable fighters nowadays are either riddled with IAP, or horrible gameplay. This is a great port of an amazing game. Though the characters are a bit lacking in the 3D edition, the ease of gameplay more than makes up for it.

Being able to create moves with and without using the touch screen is great, allows for customization, and the game has many more modes if one is bored. The multiplayer is fun, still active to this day, but because the game allows auto-block and certain options, many players take that to their advantage to instantly demolish other players not using auto-block.

For the price here, youll definitely spend hours on each character, figuring out movement, counters to characters and super moves.

Launch titles for new consoles generally possess an air of the over-familiar the rush to get them ready for the first day in the shops habitually involves using assets from a version made for an older console.

But Super Street Fighter IV feels commendably fresh on the 3DS. Street Fighter games almost by definition recycle their predecessors, with their cast of familiar characters, and never have any form of plot to worry about.

Capcom has therefore been able to concentrate on what the 3DS can bring to the party. And Nintendo’s 3D marvel turns out to be very well suited to beat-em-ups. The key reason for that is its graphics chip, immensely more powerful than those of previous Nintendo handhelds, which brings visuals akin to non-portable consoles, rather than forcing developers to make 2D graphics appear three-dimensional.

To show off the stereoscopic 3D, Capcom has come up with an over-the-shoulder view which can be toggled on or off, that works beautifully, although arch-traditionalists (who are rife among the ranks of beat-em-up aficionados) may still opt for the original side-on view, which is turned on by default.

The touchscreen also plays a part again, one which might upset the hardcore following, but which will delight those whose fingers aren’t stroboscopically rapid. During bouts, the touchscreen is split into four, each denoting a special move, which you can launch with the touch of a thumb, as long as your Super Combo and Revenge gauges are suitably charged (the latter, which lets you launch Ultra Combos, is only filled when you’ve taken a lot of punishment).

They take a while to recharge, and you can select two of your favourite special moves, but hardcore Street Fighter-heads would view them as a travesty. You can turn them off for head-to-head play, or set them to ape the function of the ordinary buttons.

And, of course, you can perform special moves in the conventional manner, with various arcane button combinations plus gestural movements of the analogue circle pad, which provides the control system with the silkiness it has previously lacked on Nintendo handhelds.

All the familiar Street Fighter characters 31, to be precise are present and correct, while the classic Arcade mode is augmented by various ways of playing human opponents: locally, via the Internet or via Download Play, which lets two people take each other on if they only have one copy of the game between them.

A bewilderingly customisable Training mode lets you hone your skills, and Challenge mode measures your ability to produce specified combos at will, and includes two mini-games involving punching barrels and a car.

Super Street Fighter IV 3D, despite being a beat-em-up, is one of the most grown-up-feeling games we have ever encountered on a handheld console. It is commendably lacking in compromise and makes good use of the 3DS’s unique abilities.

Even those hardcore fans who worry it has been dumbed down will find out that, in practice, it hasn’t. Impressive stuff for a launch title.

Was never into any of the Final Fantasy series when younger – but enjoy the story driven gameplay now I am older and appreciate more than smooth graphics and action. Considering the age of the game, I feel that the graphics – especially form the cut scenes – hold up all things considered.

And has the cutest character ever – in my opinion!!.

I bought this product because Final Fantasy VIII is my favorite video game. I have the green label (greatest hits) and I wanted to own the original black label. This game is an action RPG and is filled with suspense, drama and romance.

One of the many things I love about this game is the characters and their dialogue. There are numerous one-liners from the characters and I found myself laughing out loud frequently. I also enjoyed the junction system in the game, which allows the player to equip the character with Guardian Forces (GF) and magic.

The player can customize each character to his or her liking. Aside from the plot and characters, the music is classic and composed beautifully. Each track holds meaning to its location in the game; I loved the music so much that I bought the soundtrack.

Many will claim that Final Fantasy VII is the greatest Final Fantasy, but Final Fantasy VIII exceeds Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy VIII has a more efficient equipment system, where the players can control the character’s attack, defense, magic and how many health points the character has.

The player can also choose a certain number of magic spells that the character can absorb and be unaffected by in battle. The level of romance is also very passionate, an area that Final Fantasy VII lacks.

Another area lacking in Final Fantasy VII is the main charcter’s personality. While Squall in FF VIII begins as a quiet, guarded character, he develops during the game, realizing he loves one of the character, and going to great lengths to protect her.

Cloud in FF VII is also quiet like Squall, but he stays introverted for pretty much the whole game. Cloud does not lower his guard, whereas Squall portrays a vast transformation from the beginning of the game.

Overall, I very highly recommend Final Fantasy VIII to anyone who loves adventure, romance, fantasy or who simply enjoys a great RPG game.

Final Fantasy III is a classic that needs no introduction, so no need to comment on the game itself. The loose cartridge I purchased arrived in excellent condition. Confirmed authentic, definitely not a knock-off/repro cart.

Did not require cleaning and had a functional battery. Label with normal wear expected for a game of this age. I was impressed enough to spend another $500+ on SNES games after buying this one, and I hope they’re of similar quality!.

First off, This game was actually called Final Fantasy 6 in Japan as it was the 6th game in the series. It set the standard for what became a very popular genre, the JRPG. If you have never played this game, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot.

If I made a list of my favorite things about this game, I would have to start with the soundtrack. It has a diverse range in melodies and themes that can trigger an emotional attachment to the characters.

There are so many playable characters. 14 of them in total. They all have unique skills and each have an accompanying story that flashes them out. The villain is the absolute best in the series imo. The gameplay is your usual active time battle turn based fair but as I mentioned before, each character has unique traits and skills.

For Example, Sabin the monk class has abilities that require Street Fighter 2 esque command prompts to execute his moves. The story, is amazing. Final Fantasy III’s story has surprises around nearly every corner.

This game is easily a 5 out of 5 stars, it is one of the best games on Super Nintendo and quite possibly one of the best games ever made.
