Best Fantasy Defenses For Playoffs (2024 Updated)

I was never a big fan of the original like so many who bought this game (though I lived through it as a kid and remember how exciting it all was), but despite only having basic knowledge of the general cast and plot points, I was blown away and really enjoyed the remake.

It did a great job of fleshing out the world and characters in a way that was clearly intended by the developers in 1997, but couldn’t be done due to the lack of resources and capabilities of that generation.

The combat is fast, fluid, and fun. The characters are all interesting. The visuals are top notch. The music is great. The cutscenes are awesome. The acting is well executed. The only real knock against the game are the side quests, which are downright boring, and do little more than extend overall playtime and act as pointless filler.

That’s really about it. The main game is fantastic, and I’m looking forward to the next part in the remake series.

I really have to say how impressive this game was. From start to finish the experience was flawless, from its amazing battle system transforming the classic ATB into the ideal standard for modernization of what Final Fantasy should potentially be.

The voice acting was perfectly executed, graphically superb with the rendered scenes alongside game content these transitions from scenes to gameplay were absolutely seamless. There is hardly anything that this title failed to deliver, but the learning curve may take time to truly master however as you reach the final acts you will definitely be feeling the need to jump on into the hard mode or even just doing a second playthrough in general.

Amazingly addictive combat with each character feeling uniquely different and overall diversity with each character bringing something to the table. Lastly the boss encounters were the most amazing pieces of content offering a true spectacle of epic performance.

The pacing is also near perfect, with some sidequests feeling a bit tacked on but when all said and done most of it all works out for the better, that being either character development or aiming to obtain optional boss encounters includes classic summons.

I give Final Fantasy VII Remake- 4. 8 out 5.

The original Final Fantasy VII is one of my favorite games of all time so when I heard of the remake I was excited, but also skeptical – especially since I heard that turned based combat would be removed.

However, this is a very well done remake. The new combat system feels fresh and really makes the nuances of each character stand out. Many side quests and characters from the original game have been reimagined and it’s added a lot more humanity to the people you interact with.

My only critique of the game has to do with how tedious it can be to obtain all of the skill books for each character. This usually involves replaying several acts multiple times. In some ways this is nice because you really do have to play the game differently on the Hard difficulty level, but it can also be a bit of a slog.

Overall, this is still one of my favorite games this year. PSA – You may have heard about copies of the deluxe edition not having the soundtrack. I was one of the unlucky ones who had this happen. When I bought the game I thought that the soundtrack was digital.

By the time I realized it was supposed to be a physical soundtrack I already had the game for weeks and didn’t think Best Buy would believe me if I said something. In short, make sure your deluxe edition is complete.

The game pieces and board is well made and very pretty, giving it extra appeal. The game itself is so fun! Awesome Harry Potter game and very book like (just uses movie pictures and stuff) and the playing of the game very interesting and entertaining! We’re not 100% sure we play the game completely correct since some instructions were harder to follow and some rules never really defined.

But we tried our best and learned along the way. I do agree with one reviewer who said some house rules would make it more fun. And another reviewer who said that the first game can be played by younger kids.

We had a 7 year old play and they did great. As the game progresses it does get harder but if they can read, they can be helped and still play. We got it on sale and with an additional circle deal. Not sure I would pay $50 for a game but it’s about 7 in 1.

So there’s that.

This might be something for a family that’s very into overly complicated board games but as players of things like Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Caton etc I find this game just terrible. There are far too many types of cards and pieces, the game comes with several sets of “games” that require certain sets of cards to be laid out in very specific ways.

Our kids were excited to look at the game so they opened up several sets of cards to look through them and now trying to get them back into their original required starting points to play the game is all but impossible.

I am not normally one to post up a review rant but I am just extremely disappointed.

This game is SO fun and offers different levels for a challenge. It’s a true must-have for Harry Potter nerds who like things like DnD. Sometimes I even play by myself as all four characters. This is one of those games that takes hours to complete the hard stuff and somehow is still so fun at the same time.

You work together to defeat enemies like Bellatrix Lestrange and Draco Malfoy and boy does it feel good to get rid of Delores Umbridge! I will say it takes a while to put all materials out and then put them all back when you are done, but it’s a labor of love because you want it all sorted properly.

It’s worth it! This is just my favorite board game and I highly recommend it. :).

This game is usually seen as the worst final fantasy out there. It probably is, but is not that bad. The gameplay is unique and requires you to strategize more, instead of healing at a faster rate than the enemy.

You only control the main character during battle, while the other 2 can be set to do basic actions depending on the formation you choose. For example, attack formation means all 3 attack at the same time, while a delta formation has 1 attacking, one attacking with magic and one luring the enemy in a defensive position to get the enemy distracted with him.

Now, health doesn’t simply go down, it does at a very slow rate. What you are supposes to do is attack the enemies with magic and basic attacks. Magic levels up the enemies’ “stagger bar”. When the bar is full, you can now go on full physical attacks and lower the life significantly.

While it is not staggered, magic will fill the bar, which tends to deplete, but physical attacks make the lowering rate slow down. Enough attack and magic and the bar gets full. Rinse and repeat and you defeat the enemies.

The biggest problems with this game are the level design (basically a hallway for each level, the game is not very open, and I think you cannot go back to a level until the last chapter). The other big flaw is the story.

In general, it is very dumb and has no purpose, and I only found 2 characters not annoying, which is a big deal considering its a final fantasy game. Pick it up if you want a different final fantasy.

This is a hidden gem of a game. I didn’t give it much of a chance when it first came out because of its steep learning curve, punishing difficulty at the beginning and radical departure from FFXIII-2.

But now that I’ve spent a dozen or so hours with it, I can say that it’s a rewarding game with a decent story that makes you think about how you would spend your life if you became immortal. I never found Lightning to be a very interesting protagonist, but you can dress her up however you like and customize her fighting skills to suit your play style.

Many of the NPC voice acting is good, but I found myself skipping alot of the dialogue in the many side quests that you have to endure to level up. The environments look great, really pushing the graphical limits of the PS3, which at times results in a significant framerate drop, especially during battles with multiple enemies.

Fans of the music from the FFXIII trilogy are in for a treat as many of the best tracks from the first two games return, joining a fantastic collection of original tracks for this game. The FFXIII trilogy got a lot of hate back in the day because of the sluggish pacing of the first game and the disjointed experience of the second game.

I recently replayed FFXIII-2 and liked it, mostly because of the fast paced combat and music. I found Noel and Serah to be pretty boring as protagonists, but that’s just my opinion, in the end both of the first games are still AAA games and solid RPGs.

This one may end up being my favorite just because of how unique it is.

The game arrived on time and is in good condition; however, it did take resetting the PS3 a few times to read the disc. Don’t know if this is an issue with my console, though, since this is my first disc game for this console.

Once read, though, it is working great. Gameplay is great and intuitive. Music and graphics are excellent.

Brought to reading this series after watching ‘Legend of the Seeker’. the written series , which came first , is quite different from the TV series. Both good & bad. Not the best book in the series , not the worst.

it does all tie up by the end in ‘Confessor’. Liked it so much I am buying hardbound to keep.

I loved the story however when I ordered a hard copy book I expected a hard copy the size of the others I have. This one is merely a paperback with a cardboard cover. Very disappointed.

I STARTED READING THIS SERIES AFTER A GUY AT WORK BROUGHT THE FIRST TWO BOOKS IN THE SERIES IN FOR PEOPLE TO READ, AND I GOT HOOKED. SO I STARTED TO LOOK AROUND FOR THE REST OF THEM. NOT KNOWING THERE WERE SO MANY IN THUS SERIES.

A great expansion to a great game! This adds more characters, ships, cards, and structures in content. The necessary improvement is with combat and this expansion does it well. Variety with green dice adds minor skills and alternative outcomes in battle.

Using characters do limit the randomness a bit and makes battles feel more epic (in victory). The only drawback is with the initial setup. The expansion cards have a marker to differentiate it from the core set.

You must organize and replace cards to start using the expansion. Oh. and it is best played with 2 and only 2. (There is a solo variant available, but it requires a lot of dice rolls/coin flip for AI play) If you love strategy, star wars, just epic galactic play, this is the game for you.

There are alternatives if you wish for strictly space combat as star wars armada (capital ships)or star wars x-wing(2nd edition, fighters). For ground combat you may consider star wars legion (40k miniatures) or star wars imperial assault (board game).

Star wars lcg is card based if you have limited space.

Great expansion and definitely a “must be” for fans of the original game. Not only it brings additional leaders (Krennick, Jyn Erso, Jabba and others), units and missions, it also changes some of the core mechanics (new “cinematic” combat resolution in which tactic values of leaders finally have some real meaning).

Focused on the Rogue One episode, players now have more possibilities and strategies – for example Empire can lock Death Star plans on a remote planet (and until they are stolen by Rebels, Death Star plans card cannot be used) and Rebels can raid imperial outposts or reveal their base for significant reputation gain.

In general this expansion slightly favours Rebels, but both sides will benefit additional fun.

I love Final Fantasy 7. This movie was mind-blowing when it was released almost a quarter century ago. The plot is really for the most hardcore FF7 fans, otherwise, I could see how some people would get a little bored with it.

But the action scenes are as good as you’d expect them to be. At the time, this was the first glimpse of the modern iteration of the FF7 characters and world (which I believe are the basis of the new FF7 Remake).

In 4k, the movie looks gorgeous. You may be able to tell it’s age a little easier in UHD, but it’s still worth a watch, especially if you’re a fan of the series.

I am a sucker for any 4K animation. It just looks and sounds superb! The story is good although i still have not been able to find the links to the others I own. More 4K animation please!

This movie is for anyone that loves and really is amazed by how great Final Fantasy is. It delivers action and more to the characters everyone grew up with. It is a must buy!!!

When someone asks you what your favourite Final Fantasy game is, the typical answer you will hear will be VII, VIII or X. My favourite title in the series gets little love from most fans, despite receiving critical acclaim in reviews – Final Fantasy IX.

IX was recently ported to PS4 and I cannot tell you how excited I was to immediately purchase this title and play through again. The game has a gripping story. Playing this title again as an adult, I felt like I understood the story more.

It’s incredibly emotional all the way through. The ending is so beautiful. The core four characters are truly the heart and soul of the game. I also really love that this game is such a throwback, right down to the design.

The medieval setting is a nice breath of fresh air from the grungy Final Fantasy VII and the futuristic Final Fantasy VII. There are also a ton of references to previous Final Fantasy titles that have been cleverly hidden throughout the game.

All that is old is new again. The gameplay is exceptionally easy to grasp. The job classes are reintroduced, so each character has unique abilities, and they can all be learned at a faster pace if you catch on to some small tricks.

There are also a plethora of fun sidequests and mini-games. I spent hours trying to jump the skipping rope and trying to race that fat but fast hippo. Chocobo Hot ‘n’ Cold was immensely frustrating yet super addictive.

This time around, I got obsessed with Tetra Master. I think I had most of the cards collected by the end of the game. I would definitely recommend this game, whether you get the original for Playstation or the ported PS4 version (this version is fun if you’re a trophy hunter!).

I think it is really underrated.

Overall, gameplay is what has become a staple of the whole franchise. What starts out as a simple (series of an) action, turns into a mammoth task to save the world. Graphically, I think somebody goofed with the title and release sequence.

Let me explain: I have played 1 – 10 over various platforms, and in each one, graphics have improved with each new title released. However, with the release of FF9, I found the video to be better than FF7, but worse than FF8.

Gameplay itself, I found the cut-scenes to be too many and too long. I could add more, but that wwill be for another time. overall.

As stated by Francis, FFIX is one of the best of the franchise. FFIX goes back to the roots of Final Fantasy by creating a perfect mix of nostalgic references to past titles, mechanics, and lore. It was one of the first instances they brought back the Blue Mage for example.

and of course Moogles. The story itself is unforgettable. It grabs your attention and doesn’t give it back until the end, presenting beyond satisfying arcs for each and every character. Definitely a must have JRPG.

Ok, so this game is indeed one of the finer games on the PSP, and with the slew of unlockables, story, different arcade modes, and multi-player, it’s a game that one could happily spend hours upon hours playing.

The battle system is a little odd, as it’s not a typical fighter. More of a action game, with fighting and RPG elements tied all together very nicely. It takes a few minutes to understand how everything works together in battle, but once you get the hang of it, you just keep getting better and better, and the battles become more and more enjoyable.

The story mode, admittedly, is actually kind of weak, for a Final Fantasy title (at least, every Final Fantasy before IX had a good story). I enjoy the story, personally, but it’s not full of surprises, or played out in the greatest fashion.

It’s decent, but it could have been so much better. That, and the voice acting for some characters is a bit sad. It’s almost embarrassing to listen to sometimes. But there are quite a few characters whose American voice overs were done perfectly (Sephiroth and Kefka come to mind).

The customization of your characters is un-effing-believable. None of the equipment you use will change your character’s appearance, but the amount of weapons, accessories, equipment, summons and abilities you can learn, gain, create and buy are very nearly endless.

Especially with the multi-player items you get just from battling. In that same field, there’s a calendar system in the game that will give you rewards based on what day you play. By unlocking more bonuses through the catalog in the game, you can make these days occur more often, and yield much greater rewards.

The multi-player is 50/50, in my opinion. Yes, it’s very, very nice, it works really well, and the rewards can be unique, but it’s only Ad-hoc. There’s no online multi-player, which is really disappointing.

While my cousin and I played, we experienced a bit of lag, but it was hardly noticeable at all. Very slight, and it didn’t ruin the battle, or the experience. It’s quite a bit of fun, so if you have or get this game, find someone else who does too.

The ability to handicap the level so it’s an even match makes it much nicer as well, so that you can fight someone brand new to the game, without them having to spend hours leveling up first. Arcade mode was a unique addition to the American version, and while it’s a lot of fun, it’s straight forward, with pre-set characters.

No customization here. So, it gets old pretty quickly. However, since you initially only have access to the heroes (you have to unlock the villains via the catalog), this is a good place to go to get some practice with all the characters, as all 20 of the main characters are available to play right off the bat in Arcade mode.

Unlockables in this game seem endless. When you unlock new characters or items, more appear to unlock. As you progress through the game, you get random items and rewards, and more items appear for you to unlock through the catalog.

The museum allows you to see all sorts of Final Fantasy info on characters, and, once you unlock it, the replay editor is here, allowing you to go back over battles you’ve fought and saved the replay for, and allows you to edit them, save them to AVI, and import them to your computer.

Over all, this game is an amazing package, and the only things that really hold it back from perfection are a few poor choices.

The game is the Japanese arcade version. The story is not there. You hv to watch it via anime drawing. The gameplay is made for online which means the A is broken. They didn’t fix it at all either. The worst part is they chopped the game up putting less than half on the disc requiring u to buy the rest of the game for 50 on sale.

You will never get the whole game unless u pay the price for the dlc. If u buy the game it is designed to frustrate you into buying the rest for a hefty fee. This made me stop buying square Enix games!.

This is an interesting game as it puts a spin on the usual style of Final Fantasy by making it a 3d fighting game yet it still retains the usual depth of customization and other Final Fantasy goodness.

One of the best things for me was the fact that it is extremely long. Thanks to trying to complete each character’s story I have barely brushed the surface of this game. The combat system is interesting and requires skill and planning with less button mashing than other fighting games such as Tekken.

This with the extensive customizing of characters allows for a greater control over your characters style of play. Only two downsides to this game for me and they don’t outweigh the pure awesomeness of this game.

First the developers have put a lot of cut scenes in allowing for an in-depth storyline. This unfortunately means slightly less quality in this area of the game. The other is it is hard to understand some of the customizing options.

I suggest read all of the manuals in the games about accessories and just in general if you have not played before. Once you have mastered this the game makes more sense and it will help gameplay much more.

All in all I thoroughly recommend it to most people especially those who have enjoyed the Final Fantasy series and are looking for a bit more real time combat in their game. It is certainly something more for those who play other fighting games.

Final Fantasy is a long running series that is very well known for setting the bar for many role-playing games that involve sorcery, warriors, and magical crystals that usually govern the way the world was created in the universe.

Final Fantasy Type-0 changes the style up completely. Instead of a slower turn based system, Type-0 focuses more on a hack ‘n’ slash set of battles, missions-based progression of story, and a new refreshing take on classes.

Whereas the main series and most side stories have you, the player, decide which classes to place in your party, Type-0 has each character with a class of their own, thus instead of switching classes, all you need to do is switch characters.

It pays to take time and level each character up, as well as outfit each one with updated equipment so you can be prepared for any and all challenges you may come across. Once you learn how to get around and pick a few characters that are your favorite, take the time to explore and do some of the special missions, they’re difficult but very rewarding, and the story is worth investing some time into.

Type-0 is a fun and excited entry into the Final Fantasy universe, but keep in mind that there is some blood, and mature references, so this game is not for kids. A few other points one should know before heading out and picking up a copy are that the difficulty of the side missions is a staggering difference from the main story.

If you’re a side-quest fanatic like me, you’re gonna want to do all of them, but don’t feel bad if you can’t. There is a “time limit” on your down time between missions, so use your time wisely, not every non-player character has something worthwhile to say, and those who do may not always be around on certain times.

Personally I was a huge Final Fantasy fan when I was younger, and lately haven’t been too into the series, but Type-0 piqued my interest and it was worth the time spent. There’s plenty to do and much fun to be had, so with these points in mind, I urge you to go out and pick up a copy!.

I really liked FF Type 0 quite a bit, I must say. It’s a really solid JRPG; it’s a lot deeper than you’d expect for its PSP origins. The remastered graphics are really well done, the music was a little understated, but had a few exceptional tracks there.

I enjoyed the character selection too. You can choose from 14 different characters – they all have really well thought out personalities and variation in skills. No two of your party members will feel alike.

The story is all about war and invasions over establishing control with their Eidolon culture. It’s more of an excuse for the Strategy/Wargame mini games that occasionally occur during the campaign. They’re how you invade opposing cities and take command there.

All these facets of the game I overall loved. I wouldn’t change much about the game. maybe a more adventurous storyline. Great sound and voice acting, good graphics. Sublime controls. I give FF Type-0 4 out of 5 stars.

A quality effort.

I think it’s fair to say that a game dealing in war time conflict would be excused to not be entirely under your control. Can’t agree with a game however that makes it difficult to control who you are using in general and overall almost out of your control entirely.

Party members do as they wish and sometimes leave to be replaced by a random other character from reserves? not sure I’ve had characters that weren’t mine jump in, removing my healer or something making things much to difficult as the brutal combat wiped my under prepared team to deal with the sudden shift in structure, making me change to a new team on the fly that also is barely ready for what they are up against.

Story seems to almost be started off as being shoved down your throat but picks up the peices within the first few hours but still can feel a bit disjointed at times. It all comes up vary well with what you might expect from a final fantasy title.

All other game factors are very well done from the interface to the feeling in general. The graphics take a bit of a dip with the mix of new textures with old less polished textures blown up for the hd aspect of this moved up game that many were unable to play prior on the psp due to it’s exclusive release in japan.

Can’t say it’s a bad game though it’s not quite at that main final fantasy level of game play.

One word. Amazing. Gameplay The controls of the Crisis Core are relatively simple, you’ll quickly find yourself mastering them especially if you’ve played a Final Fantasy game before. However the battle system is a little different from the usual turn-based idea, here it’s all in real time where you can run around the battle area striking, evading and defending as you please.

Personally I like the idea of this but not how it’s implemented, once you’ve worked out an evade/attack strategy it makes battles a little too easy to win. Graphics I’m impressed with the graphics of this game, I wouldn’t call them outstanding but they get the job done.

FMVs and cutscenes look excellent though and summons look fantastic when they pull off their moves, so overall no complaints can be made in this department. Sound A lot of the familiar music from Final Fantasy VII can be found in Crisis Core, albeit with a slightly more rock sound (the battle themes) or given the acoustic treatment (Aeris’ theme).

The game also features extensive voice acting which is sublime, it really adds to character development and the overall atmosphere of the game. Value I’m not sure exactly how long this game is as I’m only about 12 hours into it, but even for those 12 hours I felt I’ve already got my moneys worth.

This is one of the best titles the PSP has to offer at the moment and well worth owning if you’re a long-term Final Fantasy fan in particular, or even if you’re not this is well worth your time.

Crisis Core is the 2nd (first was Before Crisis for Japanese cellphones, go figure) prequel to Final Fantasy VII. It follows the exploits of Zack Fair, who some of us will remember as Aeris’ boyfriend/ Cloud’s escape partner from Final Fantasy VII.

This game explores Sephiroth before his insanity, and adds a new perspective to him, without ruining the original game’s concept of him. The game uses a action-RPG with with turn based random battles, limit breaks return though in a much different form.

It actually like a slot machine, the reels line up, and you can summon Materia monsters or unleash devastating attacks based on Zack’s memories. its actually not as weird as it sounds. I had very high hopes, but very low expectations for this game, and I was surprised at how good it really was.

From its music, which is in theme with Uematsu’s original score, to its vivid cutscenes, to its story, its a great addition to the Final Fantasy VII universe. Some of its cutscenes are even featured in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children COMPLETE, which made that movie watcheable finally.

If you like FF7, definitely pick this one up, my only gripe is Genesis’ last scene, no spoilers, but play the game and you’ll see. The Limited Edition features a production run of 77,777, and differs from the regular version with its metallic foil case artwork.

It was a Best Buy exclusive, and I believe a pre-order only item. If you’re interested in FF7 collectibles, there was a Shin-Ra UMD case, available to those who pre-ordered the game from various stores.

The Good * Incredible and poignant story, starring a likable and complex hero. * Every aspect of the production design, from cut-scenes to voice acting, is utterly amazing. * The DMW is a weird but fun way of leveling up.

* Enjoyable and addictive combat. The Bad * Combat is on the easy side. * Player has no control over limit breaks and leveling. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII achieves a striking balance of old and new, and juggles fan service with pure role-playing satisfaction.

It’s striking how these elements have been shaped into such an appealing and emotionally affecting prequel. There are some new characters and plenty of fan favorites too, such as Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith.

However, the characters you’re most likely to empathize with are unlikely ones, including protagonist Zack, and Sephiroth, who is complex, troubled, and even sometimes likable. The way their personal stories weave in and out of each other–and set the stage for the events in Final Fantasy VII–makes Crisis Core not just the finest role-playing experience available on the PSP, but also one of the best Japanese RPGs in years.

Zack isn’t new to the franchise, but he was a mere flashback in Final Fantasy VII, which may not make him seem like the best choice of leading man for a prequel to one of the best RPGs ever created. Yet he’s as interesting as any Square Enix star, and transcends the usual spiky-haired heroism and teenage angst with an uncommon maturity that develops as the game continues.

Revealing almost any plot point could be a spoiler; the Gaia world is rich with mythology and complex character motivation. What’s important is how the characters interact, change, and grow. Scenes between Zack and Cloud are both effortless and poignant, and stem directly out of Zack’s most impressive character traits: trust and loyalty.

As each plot thread twists together and the game reaches its inevitable conclusion, your heart will soften and you may shed a few tears. Crisis Core tells a memorable and exciting tale, but more importantly, it makes you care about its characters, even if you are new to the lore.

The game’s final scenes are amazing and heartfelt, and one sequence in particular that brilliantly mingles gameplay with narrative is one of the most incredible and moving moments in role-playing history.

The game’s stunning cutscenes have an immeasurable effect on the emotionally resonant story. There is a harmonious mix of prerendered cinematics and in-engine cutscenes, and both were created with precision.

Dramatic camera angles frame Crisis Core’s greatest moments, from earth-shaking soliloquies to the quiet pauses Zack and Aerith share. There is a standout scene in which Sephiroth comes into deep focus using a cinematography technique familiar to Alfred Hitchcock fans.

This kind of range is rare in cutscenes, even in RPGs, yet it’s never forced or overdone here. The quality is further enhanced by incredible voice acting. Past Final Fantasies have sometimes suffered from awkward English voice-overs, but each actor here delivers the right degree of emotion at the right time, which in turn gives weight to the story.

Just downloaded this on my PS4 because I love this game. Thought I could play without strategy guide but I was wrong. Very thankful to find this one on here. Not in perfect condition but I new that when I bought it.

Would recommend to anyone that loves FFVIII and want to make sure they are not missing anything.

SquareSoft has always had a sure-fire hit when releasing any of their Final Fantasy titles, and Final Fantasy VIII should be no exception. The basis of a good RPG (role-playing game) has always been the story; spectacular graphics are secondary.

Final Fantasy VIII’s involved and interesting story line is filled with great twists, well-developed characters, suspense, and romance. As an added bonus, the graphics are beautiful. Everything–from the low-lit jazz club to the steam-filled railroad tunnels–is gorgeous and perfectly sets the mood and tone of a scene.

Final Fantasy VIII (in my opinion) is one of the greatest games ever made. Its story line is exciting and original, its characters well rounded and its FMV sequences still stand up quite well today. This guide allows the diligent gamer to find EVERY secret in the game, so for the first time playing it you can know that you’ve done it all.

It is well structured with the secrets section in the back telling you exactly when you can begin a hidden quest, and when it will be unavailable. Every item, junction ability etc. can be found within, including the effects of junctioning every bit of magic to all of the different properties, so you can tell if you would be better served junctioning Aura to strength rather than Ultima or vice versa.

All in all, there is nothing I would fault with it, so if you are a fan of the game and want an easy, all-in-one way of guaranteeing that you have expored everything the game has to offer, then buy this guide.

Dissidia Final Fantasy combines heroes and villains from the first 10 proper Final Fantasy titles (with some secret characters to boot) and mashes them together in a sprawling battle of light versus darkness.

In the world of Dissidia, the Goddess of Harmony, Cosmos, is waging a desperate war against the God of Discord, Chaos. Cosmos and Chaos have summoned warriors from across time and space to do battle, but as the forces of Chaos employ sinister tactics, the warriors aligned with Cosmos are on the brink of defeat.

Although Dissidia is most commonly referred to as a fighting game (I call it that myself), a more accurate classification of the game would be “one-on-one action. ” This is not a fighting game in the traditional sense, as it doesn’t require elaborate directional inputs and it isn’t quite as precise as modern fighters like Street Fighter IV and BlazBlue.

It’s not even similar to 3D fighters like Tekken, Dead or Alive and Soulcalibur. Instead, Dissidia plays like a fully realized version of Kingdom Hearts, but without the menu interface. You roam around a massive arena and send visually spectacular attacks at your opponent with just a few simple button presses.

While this might sound like a shallow system, Dissidia requires a respectable amount of skill to play. Battles call for specific timing, especially when engaged in an attack/counterattack dynamic. Players must also learn to effectively dodge, block and gauge distances when executing special techniques.

In this way, Dissidia is still very much like a fighting game, but the complete free-roaming nature of character movement gives it a unique feel. The battle system can be very overwhelming at first, but it becomes second nature after you spend a few hours with the game.

Each character has a pool of Bravery Points and Hit Points to keep track of during a match. By using Bravery Attacks (with the Circle button), you increase your character’s Bravery while lowering your opponent’s Bravery.

Once the time is right, you execute an HP Attack that damages your opponent’s HP in the amount equal to your current Bravery. If the attack connects, your Bravery resets to zero and you start the cycle again.

In this way, Dissidia is all about the constant balance between Bravery and HP as well as keeping the scales tipped in your favor. I found this Bravery/HP system to be very interesting and I think it suits Square Enix’s style nicely.

But of course this one system is just a very small piece of the entire experience. Characters also have an EX Gauge that fills gradually during battle (by collecting particles of light called Ex Force).

Once this gauge is filled, each character can transform into his or her EX Mode and dramatically boost his or her stats and abilities. During EX Mode, if you land an HP Attack and follow-up with an additional tap of the Square Button, your character will perform a unique (and breathtaking) EX Burst attack, which — nine times out of 10 — can end the battle.

I purchased this game a few weeks ago, and i don’t think there has been a day that i haven’t played it. I really only got the game to play as sephiroth and cloud, because they’re pretty awesome, but i found that all the characters to be pretty good.

It’s not exactly like any other Final Fantasy game, like FF1, FF2 FF3, etc. It’s not an RPG, its more of a arena based fighting game. The only thing that i didn’t like about most FF games is when you can get attacked randomly when your trying to do something.

This game, campaign is almost like a board game, you move your character across the spaces provided and approach pieces that you then go into the actual battle. My favorite part of the game has to be the Quick battle mode.

in Quick battle, you can chose your character, your opponent, and your opponent’s lvl, behavior, and strength. Doing this is a great way to level up your desired character. Doing this i reached level 100 with Sephiroth.

I also like how you can choose what ability your character has, you can choose from different attacks, and other things that contribute to your characters fighting skills. Also , the shop feature is cool, because you can buy i huge verity of items to benefit your character.

I also like how you don’t really have to pay attention to the story line, you can if you want to, but if your like me and want to jump straight into the battle without having to read through hundreds of dialogs, this game is good for that, because most of what they say isn’t something that you have to remember.

There’s just no end to why i love this game. But i HIGHLY recommend that if you liked the Final Fantasy series or Kingdom hearts series you should buy this game. Its soooo addicting, so far I have played for 4 consecutive days 😛 Oh! and theres also a bonus day where it increases the amount of EXP, Gil, AP, and PP points that you earn from battle.

GET THIS GAME! you will love it!.

I am looking forward to the new Guardian models that were just announced, but these are still a fantastic set that is made of the same solid plastic that all of the (not resin or metal) Games Workshop minis are made of.

There are a respectable number of options, but it’s worth noting that if you want the storm guardians (the melee ones) there will be a new option to replace the support weapon for that type of unit in the new kit, so keep that in mind for your build options.

FFXIV A Real Reborn is probably one of the best comeback stories in all of gaming. When it was originally released, it was terrible! One of the worst launches for an MMORPG ever because of how buggy and glitchy it was.

Fast forward two years and the team behind FFXIV gets a second chance, which is unheard of in the video game industry, and releases A Realm Reborn. Now with millions of subscribers and two expansions, the game is a titan in the MMORPG genre.

Stormblood is the latest expansion for Final Fantasy XIV. It features another 10 level increase in the cap, and it also features two new jobs. Red Mage and Samurai. I played both of these jobs and they are definitely fun.

There is also a lot more content in here as well. Basically, if you are already playing FFXIV, then you probably already own Stormblood. If you are thinking about getting Stormblood, then you should definitely take the plunge as the additional content is well worth the asking price.

The digital version has been on sale for around $20 already, but if you want the physical version, and you can find it in stores, you can get the GCU discount on it. It won’t work on the Stormblood card, only the one that comes in a case (which is still just a digital code, FYI).

I’ve been a long time Final Fantasy fan, and a fan of Square Enix themselves for many years. For the past five years, I’ve played World of Warcraft, but with each expansion, I grew less enamored with it.

I didn’t even know FF XIV existed until my husband introduced me to it a few months ago. After a single hour of play, I was in love with the game. This game gives me the feeling and fun of an amazing, standalone Final Fantasy game, but with so much more to do, and so many people to interact with.

Hands down, it blows World of Warcraft away. This new expansion for FF XIV is a welcomed addition. It makes some well thought out changes to the game, adds new abilities, and further fleshes out what was an already amazing game.

If massively multiplayer online role playing games are something you enjoy, and you’ve been a fan of the Final Fantasy line of games, this is a must buy.

I play this game just about every day! The newest expansion, Shadow Bringers, has a fantastic story. This game has beautiful graphics and a wide variety of ways that you can customize you experience.

What I love, is the ability to switch and use multiple classes on one character! If you like MMOs and don’t mind pay to play, I would definitely recommend it. Its $15 a month and they have packs that include all the expansions up to date.

So I’d give NBA2K22 a 4. 5/5 out of 10. MyTeam is pretty much the same from previous years. You can grind it out but the rewards are minuscule and not worth it at the end of the day. You really are forced to pay for VC (Virtual Currency) in order to build a team and add players you want via Pack openings.

However then there is an additional currency (as with previous iterations) called myTeam currency that is exclusively used for myTeam and is the only way you can acquire new players/coaches/jerseys, etc from the auction house.

Match making is broken since your team could be rated a 80 (best player is say an 85, worst is a 75), but a team youre going against that is rated the same has 2 players on it that could be rated a 95 or higher.

in other words unless you’re a YouTuber, you’re going to lose. ————————————————————————————————————————————-(put this in to break up the writing).

MyCareer is gone in a new direction, the base story mode is gone and allows you to choose your path. Certain elements are a great addition (being a more corporate or free-spirit personality), also giving players far more badge points and the ability to get badge points depending on what university you attend is great.

But the downside is that the City is massive! and its become more of a RPG game than a sports game (but may be a good thing? for the MyCareer mode). I’ve found though drawing fouls is next to impossible which is a shame (for instance my draw foul in MyCareer is the same as KD, yet I’m averaging less than a 1/3 of his FT attempts) even with attacking the basket.

Oh and as with MyTeam you’re forced to spend VC to make your player playable otherwise you’ll be grinding forever ————————————————————————————————————————————- The WNBA mode feels like a cruddy add on that takes away 2K’s ability to further the other modes.

Either make a separate game where you can focus on developing the mode further and give it the time it needs or dont include it at all. ————————————————————————————————————————————-MyGM, have yet to touch but based off the above I have a distinct feeling its likely the same as previous games.

and it is better then the last three dumpster fires they’ve released. but with that said it’s not hard to improve from rock bottom. Overall, you spend +$90 on a game, and then likely another +$50 to $100 on VC to make the various modes playable and enjoyable.

The game won’t even play. My kids got several cartridge games and a new Nintendo switch for Christmas. We are new to the switch but selected cartridge games rather than digital downloads so we did not need to worry about storage space on the switch.

All of the other games worked easily when you put them in but this one. Immediately upon putting it in, a pop up says a required update needs downloaded. But as you try to do that I get an error message there isn’t enough space to do the download it needs 40 GB.

Come to find out, my switch doesn’t even have that much room at 32 GB. After fighting with it for hours trying to find some work arounds and some really disappointed kids I will be taking it back. It’s ridiculous to have a cartridge game you can’t possibly play unless you go buy a microSD card.

I thought I avoided this problem by going with cartridges. Luckily the other games worked fine.

First of all. I Love the Series of 2K Basketball. I am Mainly an Offline player and enjoy it. That being said. 2k22 is Harder to plays then last year. It feels like you have to get Higher-Rated Players just to get past all-star mode in Domination.

Also. the game itself feels like you’re playing College Basketball with Nba players(No knock on college play). This 2k Style would be Perfect for a College Basketball Game. I Enjoy playing the Game with your Favorite players you like, instead of feeling like you have to get the Top-notch players just to be able to keep up with just the offline modes.

Also. the Free-throws are more lack-luster this year. Towards the end of the game you’re playing. the game itself starts to drag if i may say(Cardio-Tiredness). though Too much. I Miss the Shooting-Style from Nba2k20 and Nba2k21.

Also. I miss seeing a Diamond-Contract in the Regular packs every now and then. Makes for a Good balance from the VC buys. Thank you for Reading my Review. Coming from a Regular Nba2k-Fan.

In case you don’t know, Duodecim is a prequel to the original Dissida. The story takes place in the war prior to the one in Dissidia (13th war), hence why some of the heroes will be on Chaos’ side. Quite a few new characters have been added, there are 6 new defaults (Lightning, Vaan, Yuna, Laguna, Tifa and Kain) and 3 secrets (Prishe, Gilgamesh, Chaos) from various Final Fantasy titles.

This brings the total number of playable character to 31. While most of the new characters are quite unique in term of play style, for example, Tifa can feint most of her attacks with a teleport, Lightning can change into different movesets with Optima Change, Laguna has some interesting tools such as a sniping attack; some play a bit too similar to the original characters (Yuna is too much like Tina/Terra).

However, all of these characters are still great additions nevertheless and is probably the best thing about Duodecim. The story mode for Duodecim is really short; there are only a handful of chapters to complete, which shouldn’t take you more than 10 hours.

However, it’s good to know that the original Dissidia story mode is also present in case you want to play it again (that’s another 40 or so hours if you haven’t played Dissidia). Gameplay has been improved by a tiny bit.

The most noticeable one is Chase Battle being much faster this time. Other improvements involved A. I fix and some balancing. No new moves for the original characters unfortunately. Even if you have already completed Dissidia, the replayability for this game is still pretty high.

There are quite a lot to do. Arcade mode is there if you want to go old school, Free Battle is great for setting up that epic fight, PP Catalogue has been updated with new stuff for you to obtain (e.

g third form/costume for all characters). Last but not least, Battle Replay, which I think is the coolest feature in Dissidia also makes a return. In case you don’t know what it is, Battle Replay allow you to save your match, watch or edit it and then encode it into a movie file, all within the game.

As a prequel, Duodecim falls short due to its limited story. But as an expansion, it is exceptional. If you’re a fan of Final Fantasy, this is the game you need to have.

Another Dissidia game is here! That means most of our favourite Final Fantasy characters are in it! To add to the original roster, we get Lightning, Kaine, Tifa, Yuna, Laguna and Vaan plus 3 unlock-able characters including Prishe, Gilgamesh and Desperado Chaos.

Just a few notes on the other preview, many veteran characters did get new moves, like Squall getting Fire Barret, and many of the moves have been modifies. This allows for new combo explorations. Another thing is, Yuna does not play like Terra, they have very different move sets and combos.

This game offers many hours of game play, whether if you are ones that like to go through missions and story (the new and the original story are both included in this game), or people that likes to grind (massive grinding for all characters if you wish), or even those fighting game enthusiasts that wants to figure out massive combo links, or simply you just want to admire all these awesome Final Fantasy characters fight it out! Maybe all of the above?! This game will not let you down!.

Final Fantasy 9 is soooo good! I love the medieval storyline and love story between Zidane and Dagger. The characters are so well done. This is my 2nd favorite final fantasy game.

This is easily my favorite Final Fantasy game. If you’re a fan of the series as a whole then this is a must buy. The game goes back to the series roots of the crystal and the medieval feel of the original games after the somewhat futuristic departure in 6, 7, and 8.

The game features the best graphics the PSOne could offer and a super engaging story that ranks amongst the best in the series. Classic summons, classic magic, the return to a 4 character battle party, another tremendous soundtrack from Nobuo Uematsu, etc.

It’s hard to find faults with this game. If you’re a PlayStation gamer I can’t recommend this one enough.

I’m a fan of turn-based combat and a little bit of structure to a game’s story and actions. So, I’ve been enjoying this game quite a bit because it has turn-based battles that can be active time or wait.

And this game has a story with very simplified maps, towns, and dungeons, resulting in a much less overwhelming feeling when I play it. You’re able to focus on combat, story moments, and collecting/leveling your monsters.

This is like the exact opposite of Final Fantasy XV. I like them both, but this one definitely is more relaxing to play. And the soundtrack is wonderful and nostalgic.
