Facial serum can be used to help address a number of different skin concerns, including dryness. In general, serums are more lightweight and concentrated than other types of facial products, such as creams or lotions.
This means that they can be more easily absorbed by the skin and can target specific concerns more effectively.
There are a number of different types of facial serums that can be beneficial for dry skin. For example, serums that contain hyaluronic acid can help to attract and retain moisture in the skin. Other ingredients that can be helpful for dry skin include niacinamide, which can help to reduce redness and inflammation, and ceramides, which can help to repair the skin barrier and prevent moisture loss.
When choosing a facial serum for dry skin, it is important to look for one that contains ingredients that are known to be effective for addressing dryness. It is also important to choose a serum that is suitable for your skin type and that will not aggravate any existing skin concerns.
If you are unsure which type of serum is right for you, it is always best to consult with a dermatologist or other skincare professional.

Today I am going to give my honest #review on Cerave Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum. Hyaluronic Acid has so many benefits for skin. It helps to reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles retaining moisture to the skin, creating a plumping effect.
When skin is protected and hydrated, increased skin cell production can take place, as the skin isn’t busy fighting for hydration. This leads to smoother, plumper skin cells. This serum is lightweight and fast absorbing.
It has hyaluronic acid and 3 essential ceramides (ceramides help restore and maintain the skin’s natural barrier) and vitamin B5 ( Provides skin-soothing benefits) and MVE Technology: This patented delivery system continually releases moisturizing ingredients for all day hydration.
It is Fragrance Paraben free and Non-comedogenic. The results on my skin after I started using this serum are amazing. I have noticed that. My Skin feels hydrated and it keeps my skin moisturised and radiant all day.
Due to its Anti-wrinkle properties – I noticed reduction in their appearance. It helps to keep my skin healthy by keeping it moistured all day. I believe its one of the best hyaluronic acid serum as it has added features too.
Highly recommend. A must have product. Follow me on instagram: minabutt84.
Five out of the six facial products I use are CeraVe. I’ve been using this product for about a month now. When I was first looking for an Hyaluronic product, I of course looked to CeraVe first. I was disappointed that I couldn’t find the percentage of Hyaluronic Acid on the package or anywhere.
I looked under the questions section on Amazon and everyone said that CeraVe doesn’t give out proprietary ingredient info. I can understand that, however, I don’t think the main ingredient, in this case Hyaluronic acid, to be part of a proprietary blend and inhibits consumers from making informed decisions about what products they are buying.
Other companies list the amount of it on their labels. this has left a bad taste in my mouth and now I’m questioning my continued use of CeraVe products. L’Oréal Revitalift has no problem stating their percentage.
1. 5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid. I will stop using the CeraVe and purchase the Revitalift, since I know what I’m am purchasing. Maybe CeraVe has a higer concentration, but since I don’t know, I’ll have to go with what I do know.
Sorry CeraVe, bad call on your part on this issue and you most likely lost a long time customer.
Advanced Night Repair visibly reduces all the major signs of ageing whilst you sleep, so that you will wake up looking well rested and with beautiful looking skin. Lines and wrinkles will be significantly reduced and your complexion will be smoother and more radiant.
Your skin will feel stronger and effectively hydrated. To use: Apply a few drops to clean skin before moisturiser.
Oh boy, I really didn’t want to love, or even like, this product because of its price. I’m a seasoned veteran of all things skincare, makeup, cosmetics etc. and have practiced good lifelong habits to preserve my “youthful glow” (currently in my 60s ;).
Everything from K beauty, ceramides, peptides, premium as well as new and advanced drugstore offerings (and daily use of sunscreen of course). I am an obsessed label reader too, and ANR has some kick butt active ingredients in it.
Without going into too much detail here, this Estee Lauder ANR has done the following for me in its first 30-60-90 days – smoothed the texture of my skin, faded dark spots, made fine lines and wrinkles appear less noticeable, gave my skin a healthy glow, didn’t break me out.
Have any of my other cosmetic preparations done this? Yes. But, not as well, and that’s the fine point here, this ANR is just plain better than the rest. Does it justify the high price tag? Well, yes, in my opinion, even though I’m not rolling in dough, far from it.
I feel more attractive and happy when my face looks it’s best, blessed with good genes hasn’t hurt, but let’s face it in your 60s your skin just needs more attention. I use this serum every night after washing my face apply enough to cover my face and neck (and hands with the leftover) and proceed with an extra step (though not necessary), I apply an additional peptide serum (Ordinary matrixyl or Buffet) over it kprobably more out of habit), then apply a rich, ceramide-based moisturizer, and off to bed.
It’s gentle on my dry sensitive skin, no eye stinging, It can also be used in the a. m. , which I’ve done before, over my L ascorbic acid serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen (works beautifully under makeup), but I’ve since just been using it at night because of its cost.
Either way, once or twice a day, this is an amazing product that works. I’m always on the hunt for it to be on sale, since it has become a staple in my skincare routine and don’t wish to be out of it at all.
I first used this during my mid twenties when ANR was still the original formula – before it underwent god knows how many reincarnations. Back then I used to find it would help a little with the odd acne mark that would appear every few weeks but did little else for my skin concerns.
I was primarily using it in the hopes of some sort of defense against future ageing, but I can’t say whether or not it achieved anything, as once the bottle ran out I started using other products and then recently thought why not give it another go? So onto the latest version ‘Synchronized Recovery Complex’ which I tried earlier this year.
I don’t know if it’s the fact that ‘Tocopherol Acetate’ (Vitamin E) has been pushed down to 30th place on ingredients list (used to be 13th), or whether it’s because ‘Retinyl Palmitate (an ester of Vitamin A) has been completely removed from the new version, but this one didn’t do anything for acne marks whatsoever and I used it for over a month.
It makes sense as both of those ingredients, especially Vitamin A in any form, are known to help fade marks. Add to that a whole host of new and unpronounceable ingredients and that probably explains why if anything I’d experienced even more breakouts when using this.
although which one (or more) of the many new ingredients is the culprit I couldn’t say! Not sure why they just couldn’t let a good thing be and have to change/ruin it? ~ My Sephora Top 7 must-have list ~ (My top 7 must-have beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Sephora) 1.
Hair Loss Treatment: ‘Divine Herbal’ – Hair Oil 2. Shampoo: ‘Sephora Collection’ – Deep Cleaning Shampoo 3. Face Mask: ‘Peter Thomas Roth’ – Pumpkin Enzyme Mask 4. Pigmentation + Anti-Aging Serum: ‘Divine Herbal’ – Facial Treatment Serum 5.
Face Scrub: ‘Sisley’ – Botanical Gentle Buffing Cream 6. Lip Balm: ‘Nuxe’ – Reve De Miel Lip Balm 7. Lip Liner: ‘Sephora Collection’ – Rouge Gel Lip Lin.
I bought this after seeing so much about it on social media. I purchased this, along with the Oil-In-Creme infusion (as a night cream) and the DayWear 72hr hydration sorbet cream. I also received a free gift that contained the Perfectly Clean foaming cleansing wash.
I was still suffering from dry, flaky skin after using retinol, though I had stopped for around 2 weeks. I’ve tried a few moisturizers to try and restore my skin with little improvement. The night I received my order, I used the cleaning wash, followed by the ANR Serum, then the Oil-in Creme infusion.
I wasn’t expecting miracles, but was looking for some improvement to my skin. WOW!! By morning, my skin felt incredibly smooth and supple, the flakes were all but gone and the redness significantly reduced.
Now, my skin looks better than it ever has – smooth skin, pores less visible, fine lines less visible. The serum has a really luxurious feel to it and soaks into the skin beautifully. When I apply moisturiser over the top, I don’t experience any pilling like I have with other serums, particularly ones with hyaluronic acid.
I no longer need a primer and my make up applies so well and lasts all day. For work, I use a drop of this serum to sheer down my Double wear foundation and it works a treat! At night I put a little on my lips before vaseline and wake up with lovely soft lips.
This really is a multitasker and I would highly recommend it!.
Intensive hydrating 1. 5% pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum replenishes moisture for plumped, youthfully supple skin with bounce. Light-as-air gel serum absorbs quickly with no tacky feel or leftover residue.
Hyaluronic Acid is a potent hydration-attracting molecule naturally found in skin. It enhances skin’s own moisture-retention for lasting hydration. This formula scientifically blends 0. 5% high molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid and 1% low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid.
Smoother, more supple feeling skin starts day 1. Fragrance, free, paraben free. No mineral oil or synthetic dyes. Suitable for sensitive skin. Validated with dermatologists.
It’s been one week that I have been using this serum and I like the fact that it’s a clear bottle, so I can see how much of the liquid remains. There is no scent and the drop applicator makes it easy to apply.
I used around 4 drops for my entire face, and 2 drops for the neck and only applied at night before applying moisturizer. I used the tips of my fingers to apply the serum all over, and there was a slight bit of tackiness when it dried down, but that could be because I applied more than intended.
Tackiness only remained for a few minutes and it was gone after. This serum made my skin feel very soft, smooth and supple. I will say that I did end up breaking out on my cheeks, an area that I almost never break out.
This was the only new product that I had added to my routine. That being said, I do like how my skin felt radiant using the serum, and therefore will continue to be using this as I would like to see the full effectiveness that this serum can provide.
The L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Triple Power LZR Anti Aging 1. 5% Hyaluronic Acid Serum left my skin supple and smooth. It has made a great addition to my morning and night skin care routine and I already feel a noticeable difference.
My skin appears much healthier and shinier with a glow that is unmistakably youthful. A few drops goes a long way and cover your whole face and neck. A lot of power is packed inside this product. With having such insufferably dry skin, this product is able to deliver in both hydration and moisture.
Fully hydrate your complexion with Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Facial Serum. This unique, oil-free formula addresses dry skin and hydrates with moisture absorbing hyaluronic acid. It leaves your skin quenched, smooth, and radiant.
Bought this looking for a hydrating serum and was not disappointed in that area, it does make my face feel smooth, soft and moisturized. The packaging is nice though it’s difficult to know how much you have left unless you gauge it’s weight or of course it no longer produces product.
I think shorter more stout packaging would aid in handling and storage because I found that I was constantly dropping it, and knocking it over due to it’s narrow but tall packaging. I’ve always enjoyed the fresh sent of the Hydro Boost line of products, but just as the other products in the line I have tried, this product also irritates my skin, namely redness across the cheeks and nose, and I have mild itching which at times can be a bit much.
Not sure if there is a fragrance free version that might not cause the redness and itching, and would give that a try if so.
I purchased the cleanser and fell in love! So, I immediately bought everything from the line that was useful to me. This being one of them. My skin care now consists of using the cleanser and then the serum in the morning.
In the evening I use the cleanser and alternate between Retinol and the serum, so my skin does not get burn out from the Retinol. I love these products, I even have the lip gloss. My pores are smaller (they used to be noticable), my skin feels firmer and although I do not look years younger it has made a huge difference in the overall apperance.
The hydro boost hydrating serum is fantastic. However, the packaging is wasteful and not user-friendly. It is difficult to determine how much serum is left in the opaque bottle, and nearly impossible to transfer into a smaller bottle for travel.
In addition, the bottle comes packed in a box – very, very wasteful packaging. If the product itself was not so effective, I would not purchase because of the environmental impact. Neutrogena, please use greener, more sustainable packaging – if you do, suspect more people would use your product.
Experience advanced environmental protection with SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Serum, a potent Vitamin C serum that delivers visible anti-ageing benefits. Boasting an antioxidant blend of 15% Pure Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid), 1% Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol) and 0.
5% Ferulic Acid, the daytime serum envelops skin in a protective veil. This shields the visage from age-inducing free radicals, infrared radiation and ozone pollution, which can all contribute to visible signs of skin ageing.
Alongside essential antioxidant performance, the C E Ferulic serum reduces current signs of ageing, while visibly brightening the visage. The serum is able to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and photodamage, alongside combating loss of elasticity to leave skin firm and youthful.
Expect exceptional protection. Suitable for normal, dry and sensitive skin types. Paraben-free.
I had heard about SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic from friends, and remained very skeptical, thinking: right, right, sure, sure. Their skin always looked fresh and healthy. But, still I didn’t buy the product.
Then, I read a laugh out loud review online by a dermatologist, Christina Haverstock, who said that “They will pry Skinceuticals CE Ferulic from my cold, dead hands. ” Okay, okay, I’ll try it. So, I was given a bottle, and low and behold, it worked wonders.
My mature, patchy skin began to look really actually very good. Then, I ran out. I realized that C E Ferulic had actually been a game changer for my skin. My skin was smoother, softer, spots were disappearing (I had planned to have one removed but the serum took care of that), and my botox lasted much longer.
So, I decided to try a LovelySkin order after a long absent when they sent me a note in the mail (smart move on their part). I ordered a bottle of C E Ferulic on discount (yay!), ordered another SkinCeuticals product (I couldn’t help it), and got other samples as well (temptation); the products arrived quickly and well packaged.
This is a long review to say that I don’t use very many products, but this one serum, C E Ferulic, is a product that truly makes a difference for me. I actually get comments about how nice my skin looks, and that’s really something when one is over 70.
Because of this, I will not lapse again. I often think that many products maybe interchangeable, but C E Ferulic is not. For me, there is nothing else as effective.
For various reasons I’ve never been one to write reviews. I love to discuss and share skincare concerns and products recommendations with anyone willing but, rarely take the time to write it down. I’m a Virgo so can’t help but research my purchases and I find customer reviews an invaluable part of the process.
It’s high time I give back and I can’t think of more deserving product than SkinCentential’s CE ferulic acid. It delivers unparalleled results short of injectables with consistent use. It’s literally one of three things I can’t happily live without (retin A and sunscreen the other two if you’re curious).
It’s a single product that addresses the broad and multi-faceted concerns of mature skin and protects against further environmental damage. I’m fair with acne prone, sensitive skin so that’s a big ask but undeniably delivered without leaving a trace of fragrance, weight or residue that pills with other products and/or makeup.
Hall of Fame. Note: For clarification, I’m speaking in terms of added perfume. I’m very sensitive. I’ll have a migraine & hives before making it through a fragrance department so, I’ll never forget the reviews calling out the smell as intolerable.
Almost passed on it but thankfully the benefits justified a closer look regardless of smell. So, before someone has a hissy fit, it does have a scent. However, I’d describe it as generic, medicinal and hardly intolerable.
It wouldn’t have registered with me at all had I not seen the comment. Not to mention, all scent dissipates almost instantly. If it smells like anything, it’s a band aid for a second if that makes sense.

I 100% love this product it can range from $15 to $20 depending on the size you buy! After i wash my face it tends to dry up and i would need a lotion for my face but i hated thick lotions it would absolutely irritate my face but with this product its so light you barely even feel it but you can definitely can tell your face is moisturized! with this product a little bit goes a long way meaning you only need one whole pump of the serum and that alone will moisturize your whole face! This is probably one of my favorite moisturizers i never found one better than this one!.
I am 52 and have always had normal to oily skin, but this past year it has been needing a bit more hydration. I can’t go with a creamier moisturizer because my skin will break out. This serum has been the perfect solution! It makes a huge difference in the hydration of my skin but never feels greasy.
It goes right into my skin. The scent reminds me of the ocean but isn’t overpowering. Younger ladies: Always pump your serum onto the back of your hand before applying to your face and then rub the tops of your hands together.
Your hands are one of the first places to show signs of aging. Nobody believes I am 52 because my hands look so young!.
Niacinamide (vitamin B3) reduces skin irritation and trouble. The 10% high-concentration vitamin in this formula balances skin sebum activity with the zinc salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid. [How to use] Before morning and before you go to bed, apply your face over the face before using heavy cream type products.
Caution – This product should not be used concurrently with other vitamin C-related skin care products.

Over the years, I have continuously bought this serum. I first found out about it via a YouTube review and decided to give it a try. The texture on the skin feels so refreshing and makes my skin feel “bouncy”, unlike any serum Ive tried.
Its such a unique texture that I love. The smell is lightly of orange. I find it works really well on my dry skin under makeup and helps with dry patches. The most important and key aspect is that it actually keeps my acne away.
When I dont use this, I immediately go back to having terrible painful breakouts on my chin. I have spent hundreds on various skin care, but I truly think this is a must have and a true gem. So thankful for this product and will continue to use for years to come!.
Short version: I bought this initially to brighten my skin, but I believe I’m also getting the benefit of acne prevention. Disclaimer: I use this serum in the morning as a supplement to other serums I use at night.
I haven’t tried it as the only serum for my acne Long version: This serum is very beginner friendly for those just starting out their own skincare, especially those with acne prone skin. I wanted to use a serum that would brighten my acne scars, and I’m glad I tried it because it had a drastic change within a week or so.
Would definitely buy again. This serum is gentle on my sensitive skin. I was having difficulty with fungal acne on top of regular acne when I changed my skincare this past summer. Stopping some of the products barely helped and my skin plateaued.
Then I incorporated this serum as a part of my morning routine and my skin is thriving. I only use it in the mornings since I use a serum that has AHA and BHA along with niacinamide at night. I was initially thinking of getting Banana Bright, but after watching a vid review comparison of the two, truth serum is better for my acne.
Banana bright also has stronger ingredients and I didn’t want to overwhelm my skin. Prior to buying my own truth serum, I was fortunate enough to have a sample that lasted me for two weeks and I knew then that I had to get one.
I recommend it but maybe buy the smallest one first to try it out.
I loved this product so much when I first used it when I was 18+ years old. It sinked into my skin quickly even though it was a bit gel like consistency for a serum. It left my skin even, brighten, and slightly glowy.
The downside of it was that it has a light orange scent that didn’t linger but could bother people. So here is my dilemma, I recently used the product as of recent, I am 28 years old now and this started to break me out and dry out my face.
The scent is a little bit stronger than I remembered. I don’t know if they changed formula, may be my skin has changed over time, or the scent is irritating me because I now avoid scented or use unscented skincare but I have never had a reaction with a skincare product like this one before.
I would recommend this product if you don’t have any irritation in this product and don’t mind the scent because it is a really good serum, I just no longer can use this sadly.
With everything your skin sees in a day (makeup, greasy food, environmental toxins), no wonder it gets irritated and annoyed—rightfully so. Rather than covering up all that redness and blotchiness, a few drops of this soothing serum will do the trick.
Centella asiatica has been known for centuries as a powerful healing ingredient and will protect your skin from stressors, plus soothe and strengthen its barrier in combination with an herbs and botanical complex.
The formula penetrates deep and rapidly which means you see results within a minute so you and your skin can kiss and make up that much faster.
✨Dr Jart Cicapair Cream✨ CLAIMS What makes it unique: When used twice a day, this reparative moisturizing cream delivers a surge of comforting moisture to calm irritation and help red, inflamed, sensitive skin look and feel better.
It’s a pale green color — the opposite of red on the color wheel — and has a soft, creamy, medium-weight texture. It’s one of our best-selling Korean moisturizers for dry skin. What’s in it: Tiger Grass (aka Centella Asiatica or Cica), an herbal remedy tigers in the Asian wetlands have rolled around in for centuries to help heal their wounds.
MY EXPERIENCE 💕 I’ve always trusted Dr Jart products ever since their Ceramidin cream became my HG moisturizer. This product is no different 💕 I opt for this one if my skin has more irritation and sensitivity because it’s ingredient Centella Asiatica that is great for calming and soothing inflamed skin 💕 This is less thick than the Dr Jart Ceramidin cream but thicker than the Dr Jart tea tree moisturizer.
So this is right in the middle of those 2 moisturizers. 💕 My main use for this is to soothe my irritated skin esp during my allergy flare ups and it does the job well 💕 I can still layer the Ceramidin or any moisturizer on top of this without any issues or heavy feeling and congestion 💕 I’m happy @DrJart released this limited ed jumbo tube.
Hope the company can make the Ceramidin in jumbo tube too! 😉 #kbeauty #drjart #centellaasiatica #soothing #calming #irritatedskinsolution #irritatedskin #skinrepair ##skinhealing #skincare #influenster.
I had heard tons about Dr. Jart’s Cicapair line, but didn’t know much about the serum. Overall I found it to be very soothing and lovely on the skin. I would definitely recommend it if you have sensitive skin.
My skin is fairly sensitive, especially since I’ve been using more acids on it for resurfacing. My skin gets red and irritated, mostly around my nose. When I’ve applied this serum after using a chemical exfoliant treatment, my skin immediately calms down and doesn’t get red or itchy! I also love the bottle this comes in.
The pipette dispenser is really sleek and makes the whole thing feel much more sterile. My only complaint is that the button you depress to dispense product makes it a little tricky to get small amounts out.
I usually like to do one drop on my forehead and on each cheek. This would be perfect if the pipette dispensed the exact right amount automatically or if it was easier to control how much you’re getting — a little goes a long way! Either way, I’d definitely consider purchasing this product when I run out.
I haven’t found many soothing products that work as quickly or effectively as this one. Makes me want to try more of this line!.
I really loved my experience with this moisturizer. I heard a lot about Cica and centella ingredients but this is my first time trying them out. My skin toe is normal dry, but currently is in good form due to a proper routine.
Yet, I still tried to incorporate this new cream and test is performance without combining it with any other products. It left my skin looking soft and dewy, visibly reduced any redness( on my husband’s face), and 100% softened the look of breakouts and red spots overnight.
I don’t think it’s an everyday product for me personally, but I’ll absolutely be keeping it in my arsenal to pull out whenever my skin is out of sorts. Although the amount is good for the price, somehow it still is pricey at $49 for a tube.
But it’s performance is amazing, so I guess it is worth it.
Whether you’re yet to discover The Ordinary’s raved about range, or you’re hooked on this incredible array of high-performing formulas, The Cult Heroes Collection is the ultimate addition for any skin care aficionado.
Like an opulent feast for the skin, The Ordinary’s “Buffet” serum features an impressive array of anti-ageing wonders. Multiple peptide complexes combine in this lightweight serum to offer a multitude of benefits, including Matrixyl 3000 to stimulate collagen synthesis and hyaluronic acid to offer the heroic hydration that ‘plumps up’ fine lines and diminishes depth of furrows.
Upping the age-defying ante, Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion is a lightweight, milky-textured serum that works hard to target visible signs of ageing, while remaining gentle enough to avoid the irritation caused by some retinoid products.
Lost elasticity, fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation and uneven skin tone are all easy targets for this superlative skin saviour. Finally, 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil is brimming with vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids, which are known to hydrate and promote a smooth, even complexion.
To ensure that no one of these is compromised, this formulation is cold-pressed, as any extraction process involving heat causes it to degrade. Rose hip seed oil’s rich quantity of linoleic (omega 6), linolenic (omega 3) acids and pro-vitamin A allow it to target signs of photo-ageing – premature ageing of caused by repeated exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
It is also known to correct dark spots, hydrate dry, itchy skin and even reduce scars and fine lines by encouraging cellular regeneration. Your skin’s new heroes are right here!.
Overall: The Buffet is very much a buffet experience. The quality isn’t amazing, but you also didn’t spend much. It’s still pretty good for the price, but you’re left wondering if you’d have been happier had you spent just a little more.
I purchased this serum after Southwest damaged multiple items in my luggage, including shattering a bottle of Shiseido’s Ultimmune. Their solution was to give me a not even half the value of what they damaged gift card (so I could get my stuff damaged again later I guess), so I decided to try a less expensive serum I’ve heard lots of good things about.
My skin texture is very dry. I need products that provide moisture and help lock in that moisture. I felt the serum let me down here, as I was applying a LOT just to get that result. One thing about applying a lot of this serum is you get a sort of sticky texture going on.
If you give it a minute, it dries down to be less sticky but still not sticky-free. I’m unfortunately not seeing the results I was promised by multiple other reviews/hype TikToks after about a week. A little disappointing as I love so many other products from The Ordinary (side note: the caffeine drops are AMAZING).
That’s not to say this is a bad serum, though. The price is incredibly reasonable for a serum, but it simply isn’t strong enough for dry skin. I think you’d be happy if your skin is normal or oily if the stickiness doesn’t bother you.
If you have dry skin, you’ll find yourself needing to use a lot of serum to get decent results and probably should consider another product.
Love it. My favourite serum, goes everywhere from eye area to lips and neck. It cannot (nothing really can) eradicate existing wrinkles and lines, but I started using buffet + retinoid emulsion from the Ordinary about 4 years ago (buffet in the mornings, retinoid in the evenings, plus I take buffet with me when I travel), and during that time my skin has aged noticeable better/less when compared to my friends.
I can honestly say I have developed 0 new wrinkles in the last few years, and since I’ve completely stopped using anything that contains silicone, I’ve also now reached a point where my skin is so much better I do not even own a single foundation product.
Very happy with the results. I am 44, do not smoke and use zero to minimal alcohol – but have serious health issues and poor eating habits (which result in fluctuating weight). Sensitive oily/combination skin with very large pores (now very much improved).
Used to use Dior capture totale and Estee Lauder before, neither of which I have repurchased in the last 3 years. I also use the Ordinary’s moisturizing factors cream to outer eye area, cheeks, neck and lips as needed.
Only wish the Ordinary made a retinoid-based eye cream so I could give up the Omorovicza golden eye, too (the only “other” product I am still hooked on).
TLDR: Made my skin go from soft to pure silk. Use it after washing your face, then follow with hyaluronic acid (my routine is below) Added plumpness and radiance. Absolutely no texture felt for the past week on my face.
My face was extremely soft due to my regimen before trying buffet (have it at the end). I didn’t know what I was missing out on by not adding this product sooner. I decided I would finally try it just because I’ve heard so many good things.
I thought my skin was so soft before but I was definitely wrong. This is an entirely new level. My skin feels like silk quite literally. I will say that this is only possible with the help of my other products in my routine.
They all work wonderfully together. I added the buffet into my old routine right after I finished washing my face. I did the rest as usual. ALSO: I used it on my eczema on my arms with hyaluronic acid + heavy moisturizer and it went away.
Regimen before trying: Cerave SA Cleanser Hyaluronic Acid serum by the ordinary Caffeine solution (under eyes) by the ordinary Bakuchoil by inky list Cerave thick facial cream.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this product! I have combination/oily skin and do suffer from hormonal acne around especially my chin area. I can’t really speak for the one star reviews as this is simply an amazing product for an outstanding price.
It could be the way they are applying (or misapplying) the product, could be skin allergies or sensitivities etc. and to that I say it is simply trial-and-error and finding out what works and what doesn’t.
For me, when I find something that works well- I stick with it! I would really recommend at least giving this product a try, for this price it is a STEAL, I wouldn’t sleep on it. A few thousand five star reviews can’t all be wrong! I have some fine lines and wrinkles, and after using this- it plumps those areas right up! No lie.
My forehead wrinkles and fine lines practically vanish, and even deeper, more stubborn ones between my eyebrows fill out some! My skin just drinks this up. It is extremely thick and concentrated- a little bit of this goes a longggg way.
I wouldn’t suggest just globbing or slathering this particular serum on. It is very hydrating/plumping and the B5 helps immensely with irritation, so it is VERY nice to use on the same evenings that I have used products containing chemical exfoliants such as glycolic acids, AHA’s or BHA’s in general.
It definitely calms my skin, and layering this serum with my AHA/BHA or retinols definitely prevents my skin from drying out or acting up afterwards, as those products can tend to be irritating. How I use it at night: I first wash, exfoliate, gently pat my skin dry, and then tone my skin.
The exfoliation and toning are a crucial step, and help to “prime” my skin to best absorb the serums and moisturizers to follow. I use a glycolic acid serum first, and allow it to dry down and absorb.
Then, I apply a couple drops of this serum, again letting it dry down. Next, I apply Sunday Riley’s A+ High dose retinoid serum. Finally, I apply a small amount of a thick emollient cream (Like Farmacy’s Honey Halo).
This product blends well with my other serums and creams and using it as a layer between my AHA’s and moisturizer keeps my skin from experiencing any intense side effects from the AHA’s. During the daytime, under makeup this stuff is an excellent primer and has some grip.
It also makes your skin look fabulously dewy and glowing. The key is to wash your face and tone. Then apply this and your moisturizer and let it all soak into your skin for 5-10 minutes before applying makeup.
An AHA/BHA night serum that refines and resurfaces skin to reveal a smoother and more radiant complexion. Framboos enhances the performance of other products by clearing the way for maximum absorption.
I received this product free from Influenster and Drunk Elephant in exchange for my honest review. Overall I’m quite impressed with this serum, it works at benefiting your skin in so many different ways.
Initially while applying the serum, I was a bit taken away by the burning sensation that it’s ingredients caused, but within half an hour or so the burning went away. This serum helps fight against acne, aging, pores, and so much more! Like the Drunk Elephant Whipped Cream, this serum is good for all skin types, whether you have oily skin, combination, normal or excessive dryness.
Furthermore I can appreciate the inclusion of salicylic acid, an ingredient I’m very familiar with, helping not only fight, but prevent problematic acne. Likewise, I think it is very important to say that if you’re expecting to maximize your results, you truly need to pair the moisturizer with this serum or at least something similar, because I wouldn’t see these products being successful without eachother.
Finally, like the cream I would appreciate a little scent of some sort, I noticed that raspberry extract was apart of the ingredients to help rehydrate and smooth skin, perhaps a concentrate can be used for a subtle scent of raspberry! Having said that, there is a bit of oiliness in the serum that goes away once your skin absorbs the ingredients, though I wouldn’t post that as problematic since it is a nighttime serum.
Thanks Drunk Elephant again for the opportunity to try this product.
I bought a large bottle of this because it had great reviews and is cheaper than double serum and le lift serum which I typically use. It was a mistake. Here was my experience: At first, I thought the twist-to pump bottle was pretty cool and modern looking, but it is clearly composed of a very cheap plastic.
The material is less sturdy and flimsier than most water bottles. While applying, I noticed that was very sticky and goopy at not at all luxurious on the skin, plus left a bit of residue on the pump.
It felt a bit like I was putting lip glass or cheap intimate lubricant on my skin. I much prefer a silky, relaxing skincare experience. This really felt gross. It was seemingly fragrance-free which I honestly don’t like because I am used to the lovely scents of my other skincare products.
I do not have sensitive skin, though, and I understand that fragrance free is a pro for those who do. I used it for 2 months but it was quite frustrating that I was unable to tell how much was left in the bottle.
The opaque lightweight plastic keeps you guessing how much is actually left. I noticed absolutely no difference in my skin while using this. I don’t have problematic skin (27 years old, healthy) but like most of us, I’d like to reduce my pore appearance and keep fine lines from creating while I’m between medspa treatments.
If anything, my pores were significantly more visible while using this versus double or le lift serums. Also, I know this is for nighttime use, but I did attempt using it in the AM a couple of times.
Don’t even try to put on makeup after using this. It made it look like I had more pores than I knew I had, even after using my favorite moisturizer and my favorite primer with it. This is a no for me but I offered 2 stars because I understand the need for fragrance free skincare.
Here’s the deal- I’ve tried many cheap and many expensive skin products for my acne prone skin. I’ve struggled with acne for the last 16 years and it’s gotten worse for after having my children and my hormones going out of whack post partum.
I have oily skin, cystic acne, white heads, blackheads, you name it- out of desperation I started to use different products in conjunction with one another and I’ve found that this serum is the best for cell turnover.
It takes time to work- imo it took 2 full months for my skin to completely cycle through and now I have clear skin. I also use clinic blackhead scrub, clinic acne toner, and proactive step 3 treatment and I find that when I rotate products my skin doesn’t get immune to them.
I also use my curology formula at night with this serum and I swear I just cannot live without this- out of all the steps in my routine this is it. Blackheads are GONE. I have never in my life not had blackheads until now.
Never. Sometimes on my period when I feel an inkling of a cystic pimple start all it takes is 2 nights of this serum and it goes away without ever surfacing. Amazing. Also the 1oz has lasted me 7 months.
idk how much everyone else is using but I literally use 1 pump a night and I’ve gotten 7 months worth. Try this- stick it out for the long haul and you’ll love it- and invest in a good nighttime moisturizer.

This product is a game changer for me! I have dry mature skin with signs of aging and occasional breakouts. I decided that it’s time to take my skincare more seriously. After educating myself on retinols I narrowed it down to about three or four products that are highly rated with proven results from reputable brands.
I have used other CeraVe products and was very happy with them. I have been using the CeraVe resurfacing serum for about 3 weeks now and I’m very pleased with the results. I have not had any breakouts and notice a very obvious difference in the texture of my skin.
My skin looks more youthful, smooth, and fresh. I have been washing with a glycolic cleanser which I will also review, and I apply the CeraVe retinal resurfacing serum after I cleanse and then moisturize sometimes adding a hyaluronic serum about 15 to 20 minutes after I apply the resurfacing serum.
I know that a lot of times retinols will exfoliate and turn over the skin cells and you can get some reactions prior to seeing an improvement especially where breakouts and acne are concerned, this has not happened to me I feel that this formula is more gentle and packed with other ingredients that support good skin health.
disclaimer: please use any retinol at night to avoid interference with sun exposure and sensitivity to the skin. this retinol will irritate your skin, leave dry patches, and so forth. i have not been using it long but it is because my skin cannot tolerate it and i do not have sensitive skin.
i will also say you should not use this every single day considering it is a resurfacing serum. despite its name, it doesnt do much resurfacing. it just causes dry patches. this is not something i recommend as it will irritate you especially if you attempt to use it more than twice or three times a week.
if that’s the case, it wont be effective for anyone using this for anti-aging. you’ll need to use retinol everyday for faster results. nonethless, here are the issues ewg. org puts on their website for this product: “contamination concerns, irritation (skin, eyes, or lungs), occupational hazards, persistence and bioaccumulation, use restrictions”.
Little to no scent, it does sting a little after applying but after checking multiple sources and many reviews, this is normal with retinol products. I have very sensitive skin so I imagine those with normal skin will not have any stinging.
I dislike that CeraVe doesn’t disclose the amount of retinol percentage and instead gives a non-answer, but the tiny amount of retinol it has is indeed effective. I have REALLY uneven skin, lots of bumps from old blemishes that made hiding everything with makeup difficult.
I bought this a little over three weeks ago and used it in tandem with Melano CC to lighten blemishes and it’s amazing how much has changed, my skin is nearly flat! I never thought any product could make my blemishes go away completely but I think it’s possible if I use resurfacing products for a while.
For the first two weeks, I applied once daily before bumping it up to twice daily with the rest of my routine. Be prepared for a LOT of flaking at first if you had bad issues like me. After using up this bottle, I intend to change to a resurfacing product with a higher percentage of retinol!.
Your favourite skin-strobing serum just went jumbo! Now your radiance can last today, tomorrow and beyond with the Supersized Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops. Proving that you don’t need make up to create a glow-giving finish, this skin care highlighter instantly illuminates and preps your skin for a magical, wet glow using only good-for-you skin care ingredients, sans mica, glitter, or pearls! While strobing skin, this smoothing serum delivers vitamins and hydration to your pores to truly draw your glow from the inside out.
This make up and skin care staple works under or over make up, all without tack or grease, for an undeniable, maximum, Instagram-ready glow.
If you’re all about that healthy glow when it comes to makeup and skincare then you’re gonna love this little gem from Glow Recipe. Sitting within their iconic watermelon line of products is the Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops (£31).
Housed within the prettiest pink iridescent, tear drop shaped vessel is a beautiful lightweight serum to help create the illusion of dewy, fresh skin. Bridging the gap between makeup and skincare, this hybrid niacinamide-infused highlighting fluid helps to visibly brighten your skin and delivers an effortless glow while helping to reduce hyperpigmentation.
Formulated without mica, glitter, or pearls, the serum imparts long lasting hydration while offering a subtle yet detectable lift to your complexion. Suitable for all skin types including oily and acne prone, it instantly highlights your skin and is packed full of a host of skin friendly ingredients.
Unsurprisingly, the key element in the line-up is of course, watermelon. Packed with protective vitamins A and C, skin-plumping amino acids, and the phytonutrient lycopene It he, it helps to moisturise, plump and soothe your skin while improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Niacinamide (a powerful vitamin and antioxidant) gets to work evening out your skin tone by reducing hyperpigmentation and dark spots. It also helps to minimise the appearance of pores while soothing skin and brightening dullness.
Hyaluronic Acid, the undisputed king of skincare ingredients can hold up to a thousand times its weight in water, resulting in visibly plumped skin and vitamin E rich Moringa Seed Oil helps to deeply hydrate.
The serum itself is a beautifully lightweight fluid which possesses an almost gel like texture. It glides across your skin, soothing and calming as it goes. Skin is left feeling plump, firm and deeply nourished without feeling heavy, oily or greasy.
You can use the serum as the final step of your skincare routine or directly over the top of your makeup, depending on the intensity of the glow you’re after. Unlike powder highlighters or indeed some liquid ones which can look pigmented and almost glittery, these Dew Drops manage to create the illusion of naturally highlighted skin without the aid of makeup.
They create an almost invisible sheen to your skin which catches the light to perfection, lifting a dull, tired looking complexion. You can use them all over your face or concentrate on areas more traditionally associated with highlighters such as cheekbones and brow bones etc.
Its these kind of products that I really live for; skincare/cosmetic hybrids that don’t just create a gorgeous finish but actually look after your skin simultaneously. They’re particularly good as well if you’re just after a little lift, say on the school run when you don’t have time to do a full face of makeup.
Applied over the top of your skincare regime they just bring your complexion to life, giving you the illusion of looking fresh and dewy, even if you’re dog tired. Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops are available now from Cult Beauty and cost £31.
I am a HUGE #GlowRecipe fan to begin with. I’ve never been disappointed with a purchase branded with this name, #GlowRecipe. In my personal opinion, nothing could be closer to the truth when coming up with “THE” name that would brand their company.
THE name that could just as easily make or break their company if their products didn’t stand up to such a strong moniker. Praise the Lord their products are all that and a bag of chips! Lol! I have every product and have yet to EVER be disappointed with one.
That includes , , , , , , , , , , , , and LAST but NOT LEAST. I received these for the first time in my #BoxycharmMembership. I am 38, and until I was about 34 I didn’t start to realize the importance of skincare, and having a consistent regime that works for me to reach my skin care goals.
So when I started learning I realized there are certain serums and treatments made just for daytime, and the same for nighttime. To begin I invested all my savings in the brands certain beauty stores tout as MUST HAVES WITH A HIGH PRICE TAG OR OTHERWISE YOU MIGHT AS WELL NOT TRY.
Obviously, I learned I was wrong the hard way. I have found some great drugstore/Target/Walmart Brands that work just as well as the same ingredient with the highest price at the popular beauty stores.
That’s not to say there aren’t certain things you should splurge on, but it’s also confirmation it doesn’t have to be everything. I began teaching myself all I could about skincare as far as what products work well together, and which ones should stay separate recently, and which ones I needed to achieve the “glass” skin I could only dream for.
In my studies I learned that when layering facial products, to get the maximum benefit out of your Niacinamide you should put it on after your acid, whether it be salicylic (great combo for zit zapping), lactic, or glycolic.
If your skin isn’t very sensitive you can even put it on top of retinol at night for an added skin smoothing, wrinkle busting factor.
***Had to post the sunscreen review under this bc the sunscreen is not showing up 🍉 Glow Recipe Sunscreen SPF50 🍉 First time using it bc I have been using the Cosrx one more consistently. I have dry skin and this one gives me a less dewy finish compared to the cosrx one.
For some reason, I even felt like it gave me a semi-matte finish lol😂 (which is not bad too). It’s just the total opposite of what I see on other people’s posts so I had some expectations 🧐😁💕 and was looking for that “dewy finish.
” Oily or combination skin types will love this! It applied pretty well and was not hard to blend. I did not experience any pilling. I read on some posts that a few experienced pilling. It probably depends on what products u layered under or if u let the previous products sink in first🤷♀️.
There is a faint yummy scent ☺️ that I actually like and don’t mind 🍉 I don’t wear foundation or bb cream, so I cannot attest to how this will layer with those. 💗 I will continue using this. I like that it has Niacinamide and SPF50.
I just have to prep and moisturize my skin well when using this one. Its Spring here and this is perfect for the weather now and for summer. But if it’s the colder months fall and winter, I would have to use my @cosrx sun cream☺️.
The best facial serum for dry skin is one that contains hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that helps the skin to retain moisture. Other important ingredients include glycerin, which helps to keep the skin hydrated, and shea butter, which is an excellent moisturizer.
