20 Best Eyeliner For Oily Skin (2023 Updated)

After using this product for so long, I’ve figured out how to get the best out of it. The eyeliner has an AMAZING bristle brush tip. This makes it extremely easy to clean if product dries in the tip (which is significantly harder if the brush tip was a sponge).

**HERE IS A TIP: When product does dry in the bristles, what I do is I take the lid of the eyeliner and GENTLY press the bristles on the edge of the cap. Pushing down and rolling will cause the dried product to rub off.

A bit of shaking and all is well and working brand new. I use the same method to really get the bristles into a point. I really feel that this is key to get it to work as you want. (Typically I have a lot of product dry at the very base of the bristle brush, so I feel that it is key to really press on the bottom most part of the brush to really break up anything that dried.

) I could wear this product for hours and even mistakenly touch my eyes a few times, but it just doesn’t smear. If anything, it’ll lightly brush off in little specks. (I prefer this than having a huge streak down my face that I’m not aware of.

).

Everyone knows that monolids are probably the hardest lids to do eyeliner on. The way our skin folds can make it difficult to lay eyeliner on, whether it’s an ink pen or a creamy pencil. This is a great budget eyeliner (sales drop the price a lot) and you get more than what you pay for.

In comparison to a US budget brush tip liner, this blows it outta the water. The fine tip allows for a really delicate wing, and the ink doesn’t pill up when you lay down multiple layers of color. It can be patchy if you’re trying to do a wing in one stroke.

But if you take your time, it’s great!!! Definitely recommend, especially if you see it on sale. For context, I bought Brown and I’ll be getting Black next.

i like sharp eyeliner, and this definitely helps with just that. i also have hooded eyes so i’m always worried about the liner rubbing off, but honestly this is pretty waterproof and scratch proof. i mean, if my eye is itchy and i remember i have liner on, i’ll just poke at it though.

but this liner legit stays on all day. if the day is particularly hot, i will admit, there is a bit of smudging under my eyes, but if you catch it early enough, rub it off, and put some powder underneath, you’ll be good to go.

also FYI – i guess i accidentally put the cap on too fast and the liner tip hairs separated. it still works but it’s a hassle, but just an FYI that it can happen BUT will still work well.

Clinique, if you’re reading this, I’m devastated that you discontinued the Pretty Easy eyeliner. This is not just a new look; there’s no way this is the same formula. And I know because Pretty Easy was my go-to for 5+ years, and in my honest opinion, the best on the market.

Unfortunately this product just doesn’t compare. The applicator looks pretty similar actually but this formula is dryer, has less shine (definitely not as high impact!!) and doesn’t wear as well. I used to be able to wear Pretty Easy all day without reapplying and this new product comes off within a couple hours.

Really disappointed by this change and now I need to find a new eyeliner! :(.

Easy to apply and hold in hand. Very pigmented. Got it in the black colour. However, if you have sweaty eye lids it will smudge so easily. The eyeliner would appear on my eyelid sometimes as well as below bottom of my lid.

I wore this indoors, outdoors, as well as at a wedding recently, and I had to keep checking my appearance constantly. Sadly, I felt self-conscious wearing this. I’ve had much faith in this eyeliner because of beauty gurus and influencers’ recommendations and I really wanted to like this.

It might work with those who don’t have sweaty eyelids, but that’s not the case for me.

Used up the last bit of my last Clinique water activated,, waterproof, cake line and had high hopes this could replace it. Not so. With the water activated, you can control color concentration, opacity level, and make a thick or fine line in seconds, with confidence.

And the line is solid, doesn’t skip here and there. And it lasts all day, no flaking. Sorry to say this product has none if those attributes. Will have ti search for a similar product elsewhere and know it won’t come close to one of the best products ever.

Sad. Maybe I can make my own.

I ordered the Nourishing eyeliner in Spiced Chocolate30 because I can’t find the Brushed Pewter20 anymore. I hope it’s not discontinued, I would have purchased as many as I could find. I did purchase your new Kohl eyeliner in Smokey and it’s like drawing with my It’s like using my daughter’s crayons to put on eyeliner.

It’s lumpy and thick, no point, just awful. We older gals need a grey color that goes on smooth for our slightly wrinkled eyes. I tried to get my money back at the store where purchased but I waited too long and had thrown away the packaging.

I miss the Nourishing Eyeliner from Neutrogena that is no longer available.

I used to buy $30 Sephora eyeliners that were HALF as good as this one!! No other high end or drug store products compare to this eye liner, and as someone who wears eyeliner everyday I really relied heavily on this eyeliner.

Before stumbling upon this God-send, I had issues with eyeliners not having enough precision, flaky/goopy formula, and not long lasting. On top of that, I have oily eyelids and most eyeliners just don’t last very long.

This eyeliner was so perfect, it would last all day and the consistency and wand were so easy to use. I could achieve a perfect cat eye in 5 minutes every morning. I’ve been looking for this eyeliner for the last few months and couldn’t find it anywhere, only to find out it’s been discontinued.

I wish I had the foresight to stock up on this before it went away without warning. I’m so lost and confused about which eyeliner to use now that this is gone. I’ve used Nyx’s epic wear, and as the comments here say it’s impossible to take off and the formula is nowhere near as good as the regular liquid matte.

I’ve also tried Nyx’s felt tip eyeliner which just flakes off and doesn’t give as much precision for a fine cat eye. With both of these eyeliners, if you make a mistake you are stuck with it because their formula is just not as good for quick removal and redoing.

I will have to find a replacement from another company that will probably be more expensive than this was and of vastly lower quality. PLEASE NYX PLEASE BRING THIS BACK!!!!!!!! WE ALL MISS THIS EYELINER AND NOTHING ELSE YOU HAVE EVEN COMES CLOSE TO THIS!!!!!.

I used your Matt eyeliner for years. I use lux brands in makeup and your eyeliner was ONLY budget product I used consistently and no expensive product could match you. I was upset when you stopped it but gave your new eyeliner a chance I bought few as I did with Matt and was sure you made product better.

I was very wrong. Brush is too thick and terrible, liner tube too large and very inconvenient during application and actual liner maybe ok but I simply cannot apply it with terrible brush and huge container.

I returned new style liners immediately. I bought few old stock Matt liners on eBay and gladly paid 200-300% over original price because I would pay more to you for the same quality product but you chose to offer bad product for the same price.

I will eventually find replacement from someone else and for now will use old stock. But I hope you will listen to your customers and return a great product. I don’t think its right that I paid $20-30 to someone on eBay instead of NYX because you made a bad decision.

I’ve been using NYX vinyl matte liquid liner religiously for years and I’m so sad it is discontinued! This is my first time ever writing a review because I’ve never felt as strongly about a product as I do when it comes to the formula used in this eyeliner.

I’ve been searching for it everywhere with no success. I’m writing this in hopes that NYX reconsiders their decision in discontinuing this GLORIOUS product. I have super oily skin and this is the only eyeliner that lasted all day long and there were times that it lasted all weekend (TMI) and on Monday my coworkers complimented me on how great it looked.

It was so great that they even went out and bought some for themselves and loved it. I have tried so many different brands high end and not to try and replace this one since I ran out and have not been successful.

I’s writing this in hopes that NYX Cosmetics reconsiders and brings this amazing product back! I am 100% sure I’m not the only one hurting.

i literally just came back from ulta to try this and i’m not impressed. ok so good first: i loved how quickly it dried. felt like it would stay put and it came off super easy with micelar water. BAD: the tip is just as everyone describes, way tooo big.

honestly pilled up after the second dip. you can’t do a sharp wing and if you get close it comes out like you’re going for the myspace kid look. I LOVE a thick wing but i cannot with this one lol. it felt super caked and maybe that’s my fault for going with the matte but i just wanted something for my oily eyelids.

The images shown here is NOT my product! My purchase is the CD black waterproof double-ended pencil/blender eye pencil, which is extremely good! Having said that, I have heard that it is possibly being discontinued in that particular form so the image may be if the replacement product.

Please check for yourself if interested in this type of item. I have always found CD make up to be of a consistently reliable quality.

Recently I have attended a wedding, a funeral and suffered hay fever. Why am I telling you this?! Because aside from the normal everyday, these are the kind of events where you want your apparently waterproof, smudge proof and transfer resistant liner to hold its promise.

And unfortunately this product does not. With the shed or a little tear, I have experienced the black smudge all over my eyelid, without me doing any rubbing, before you declare! This completed ruined my eye make up for all events and made me feel super self conscious for the remainder.

I ended up popping home after a wedding ceremony to get the liner and make up wipes to pop into my bag and had to do fixes several times because it wouldn’t stay put. Even on a normal day, like today, I’m disappointed once again, that even with eyeshadow on, the liner has transferred onto my eyelid giving me a sticky sensation and a sad mouth imprinted on both lids for all to see.

The liner doesn’t last 24 hours either. I’ve tried with lid primers too but have the same frustrating outcome. Annoying and misleading for the price point as I thought I would treat myself and now after a few attempts, think I will have to give up on it.

I don’t usually write reviews but felt the need to because it doesn’t deliver on any of the stated promises and I’m fed up of ending up looking like a mess when I attempt to give it another go. I have worn eyeliner and flicks for years and this is definitely bottom of the list of the eyeliners for me.

This is my absolute favorite eyeliner!! It’s very easy to control and it gives such a clean and sharp wing. It’s a perfectly intense black and it just draws so smoothly. I use it almost every day and it hasn’t dried up at all after months! I’m so impressed- my skin is pretty oily and this is the only eyeliner I’ve found that is immune to that.

It’s survived rain, sweat, three intense cry seshes in one day (crying about stress, homework, and boys) (multiple times), I’ve literally SLEPT with it on and it was fine in the morning. The 24 hour (and better than sex) is no lie!! I’ve tried a few different eyeliners in the past but nothing beats this one.

I’ve gotten so many compliments on how good my eyeliner is and honestly I have to give credit to this eyeliner because of how quickly and cleanly it draws! I usually don’t like to spend too much on makeup but this product is life-changing and SO worth it!!! If you read this whole thing and are convinced I also recommend the waterproof mascara, once you have the combination of these two products your eye makeup will be flawless and smudge proof even after crying.

I don’t know how I’d survive college without this.

I LOVE this eyeliner. It’s a long brush tip, longer than any other brands I’ve tried and allows for a very precise application. It also does not bleed during application. This one is the best waterproof eyeliner I’ve tried (I’ve tried Stila Stay All Day, KVD Ink Liner, NYX Epic Ink, Rare Beauty, Anastasia, Bite Beauty Upswing, KVD Tattoo) and Too Faced is the only one that is PERFECT.

1) It doesn’t flake, 2) If you mess up, it’s not so permanent right away that you can’t wipe away the error – although if you apply foundation after application, it can smudge the wing, 3) is not shiny, 4) doesn’t wrinkle if you do too many layers, 4) lasts through the shower (mostly) and 100% through workouts and eye drops (I was doing eye drops every hour for a few weeks), 5) doesn’t dry out quickly although sometimes you have to wash the brush to get eyeshadow residue off which might make the ink more difficult to come out.

I will say that sometimes you may need to go over the line a second time when you start using it each day since the ink isn’t pigmented in the first few strokes but after that, it’s fine. As for having to wash the tip after a dozen or so uses each time, I found this to be the case for all brush tips, regardless of brand.

Okay listen, Ive had many holy grail eyeliners in my time. Eyeliners that I would die for- that I would buy incessantly. It started with KVD tattoo eyeliner (as it does for a lot of people) but the new formula was soo dry and would be unusable in a few weeks so I sought out bigger and better options.

That’s when I came across Stila Stay All Day, which it did in fact stay ALL day. Until I got a few dry duds and made stila stay all day my enemy and sought once again after the best eyeliner in the world.

That’s when I stumbled across the ABH one. I’ve never been a huge ABH girl (aside from their OG palettes- modern renaissance, soft glam). Never got into their dip brow or mascara, it all seemed meh. So idk what made me choose this eyeliner but I’m glad whatever it did DID.

This eyeliner has the perfect size and texture applicator. The eyeliner itself is Soo black and matte, it’s gorgeous. The applicator I’ve also found doesn’t pick up glitter/eyeshadow which I’ve found happened with KVD and Stila (and it would sometimes render the eyeliner unusable).

Anyways- all that to say, get this eyeliner. Try it out.

I have 3 criteria for liquid liner: stays on all day without smudging, has a dip style applicator (no marker style), and comes off easily with makeup remover. Since I wear black cat eyes every day, liquid liner is the most important item in my makeup bag! Most eyeliners come off too easily, especially if you are wearing sunscreen every day! The formula on this one is absolutely perfect.

It stays all day without smudging and then comes off easily at the end of the day. At the end of the day, it comes off easily with makeup remover and doesn’t leave residue in my eyelashes that turn into raccoon eyes the next morning.

The only thing I took a star off for is the packaging. I love the brush! I prefer very wet eyeliner because markers tend to dry out and not get a crisp line. But the packaging for this tube feels so cheap! It’s also hard to dip the brush into the well between lines.

I’m going to keep buying this because of the amazing formula but I hope they improve the packaging soon.

I am a performer and I need something solid that won’t give me raccoon eyes. I usually use Stila but I wanted to give this one a try because the swatch was beautiful. The swatch came out as a beautiful dark black, the line was really precise and looked amazing.

I only wet my hands with water and it came off almost completely. I still bought it wanting to give it a proper second chance. I got home, primed my right eye and drew a beautiful wing. The product went on beautifully with minimal skips.

30 minutes after application, I went to the bathroom because my brother kept calling me a raccoon. It was completely gone. I had small black flakes around my eye and I had grayish dark raccoon eyes. I only rubbed my eye once and I wasn’t even sweating.

I was just reading a book in an air-conditioned facility. I’ll leave 2 stars because the swatch is beautiful and the pigmentation is amazing. Morphe needs to improve the longevity of this formula. I do not reccomend this liner to anyone unless panda eyes are your aesthetic.

For reference, I have dry-sensitive skin and eyelids that are not oily.

The nib on this eyeliner was very hard and an odd shape so not great for a clean and smooth eyeliner application. The nib is not fine so also makes it hard to create a neat/ thin wing. It’s also a very dark brown so I may aswell have bought another black eyeliner.

Overall, would not recommend.

This is an excellent quality product. The formula is lovely, very pigmented, a true matte black finish, and lasts all day. Takes a very long time to dry out. The tip is a wonderfully soft, flexible felt tip perfect for a nice winged liner.

Great price, too. Highly recommended!.
