20 Best Evenflo Convertible Car Seat (2023 Updated)

I love that this car seat lasts pretty much until your child grows out of it (10 years), and that the harness adjusts so easily with the sliding headrest (you don’t have to take the car seat out to adjust the harness as your child gets older.

It’s also very easy to install. However, this car seat has been terrible for us. My daughter is 8 months and just moved out of her bucket seat. So we have this seat installed rear-facing and I just can’t get the harness tight enough for it to be safe for my daughter.

I have to get my husband to tighten the harness EVERYTIME I leave the house, and this has caused me anxiety when I leave because I’m afraid I will need to get her out and not be able to put her back in safely to drive home.

The way the tightening strap is located just makes it so difficult to tighten in rear-facing position. Even my husband has trouble tightening it and he’s a strong fella. You need an incredible amount of hand strength, I actually have burns and cuts on my hands from trying to put the tightening strap.

I have contacted evenflo about this issue and they just gave me tips on how to tighten it, which did not help. Also the sensor safe feature, which I originally thought was very cool, is super annoying.

Sometimes when my daughter’s asleep in the car when we get home I sit in the car with her until she wakes so she gets a good nap. But the sensorsafe app won’t stop alerting when I’m INSIDE the car with my daughter (I even adjusted it to less sensitive and this still happens).

It also makes a VERY loud beeping sound every time you turn the car off which is a pain if you have a baby who’s a light sleeper. Overall, I would not recommend this seat, especially if you don’t have incredible hand strength.

But if your using the seat forward-facing then it may easier to tighten.

We own a Graco 4Ever & now this Evenflo seat & holy cow this is a game changer! I hated that with the Graco my child’s head always seemed to get pushed forward and my child would scream as soon as we went to put her in it.

Now she’s excited to get in her seat and just looks like she’s snuggled up in this seat so much better! Her head no longer gets pushed forward and I really feel like this seat is more comfortable for her due to the additional padding right below her buttocks.

EASIEST INSTALLATION EVER!!! We are currently rear facing our almost 2yr old and holy cow I have never been able to install a car seat more easily than this one (& I’ve had my fair share of car seat installing and transferring from vehicle to vehicle as I have 4 children and a 5th on the way).

The seat is heavy but worth it since it’s so easy to get a wiggle proof installation and I’m not constantly moving from one car to another. The base is a no slip base so trying to drag it across my leather seats is impossible because it grips the seat very well so it’s not sliding around easily in the seat like the Graco car seat does.

If you drive a small vehicle I definitely suggest doing some measuring and what not BEFORE purchasing the seat cause I really feel like it’s an unfair review to say “omg this seat is soooo big it won’t fit in the back of my itty bitty Kia Soul or Chevy Sonic.

I drive a Dodge Grand Caravan and it fits perfectly fine and the front passengers still have plenty of room. She can actually reach the cup holders to put her drink in and out on her own. The issue I might see for some taller children is the leg room rear facing but so far it’s not an issue for my child.

I haven’t had any issues readjusting the harness tightness or the height. Over all I am so very satisfied with this purchase and plan on purchasing another one of these seats for our 5th child!.

The seat itself is nice. But the crotch clip and seating depth is poorly designed. My little girl has chubby legs, she isn’t even 16 months yet, and the clip already digs into her thighs. It’s a combination of the shape of the slip and the space between the clip and the back of the seat.

There is no way to put the clip any further out since there are only two spaces to place it. I am going to try this out, but I only see it getting worse as she gets older. I anticipate I will be very frustrated that I spent so much on something that I am eventually forced to replace.

Good that it goes to 120 pounds, and the padding is alright and better than some. But until she is out of the harness, this crotch clip issue will be uncomfortable for her, especially on long trips. Meh.

Easy to install , very big seat it touches the sides of both of my front seats in a Hyundai Tucson 2020. Have to research if this is a problem but so far so good. Very tight when cranked in place and love that it adjusts to grow with the baby.

Got this after he grew out of the evenflo infant car seat that was also sensor safe. Although WARNING this seat stays in the car so if it’s hot out and the inside of the car gets hot in the morning before you put your child in the seat, even if you air condition the car to a good temperature before putting your child in the seat, it for the first few minutes will tell you it’s at critical temperature.

It will eventually stop once it detects that it isn’t actually 40+ degrees Celsius in temperature and settle back to the temperature it actually is in the seat. I like that it’s safe overall it is a good investment, I like that it is looking out for the better interest and safety of my child even if it tells me critical alert for the first few minutes of the drive.

I’d rather know then not know, better safe than sorry. Also is very easy to connect with the app, loud and alerting. will tell you if the seat is unbuckled.

I received this car seat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I’m glad I was able to have some experience with some of the unique capabilities of this car seat. I was able to use the All4One Aries Convertible Car Seat with both my 7 month-old and my toddler, who is almost 3.

For my baby, I liked that there were plenty of options for padding, which can help my baby keep her head up if she falls asleep in her seat. The cup holders were a great addition for her, even though she’s still a little young to have a cup or snacks in the car, I could keep her toys in there without them getting dropped and lost under the seats.

I had a lot of peace-of-mind while my kids were in this car seat because of the ratcheting system of installing. Not only did it make it incredibly easy to install, I was sure that my kids were safely secure in this car seat because the ratcheting system allowed me to get the car seat installed as tight as I wanted it.

When I switched the seat from my baby to my toddler, it was an easy switch! The LATCH straps moved easily and again, the ratchet system came in handy. It was easy for my toddler to strap himself in and for me to adjust the straps to fit his shoulders.

One of my favorite features of this car seat is the longevity. I hate spending money on a car seat only to have to buy another one so soon after, but because this one switches from a rear-facing seat, to a forward facing seat, to a high backed booster, and then to a no-back booster, I won’t have to buy another until either I have another child that needs a convertible car seat or my toddler grows old enough to not need any support but a seat belt while riding in the car.

However, one of the features I was most looking forward to has become a nuisance. The Sensorsafe tech seemed like such a good idea to help keep my kids safe while they are in the car, but it ended up being so annoying that I deleted the app from my phone and no longer use that feature.

I live in an area with more extreme temperature, which means my car can get really cold and really hot, even when it is left in the garage. As a responsible parent, I always make sure my kids are the right temperature before we embark, whether that means we use blankets to keep warm or roll down the windows to cool off.

However, the Sensorsafe tech has no way to take this into account and is constantly going off to tell me that my car is not a safe temperature. The app was easy to set up, but once I had the alerts set, I couldn’t disable any of the notifications.

I would have wanted to keep the alerts for my child being buckled and unbuckled because my toddler is close to the age where he could figure that out, but I didn’t see any way for me to keep some notifications and not others.

I could deselect them on the app and I would no longer get visible notifications, but my phone would still make sounds for everything. It would even make sounds for no reason, and there was no way for me to turn them off except to completely delete the app.

I was pretty disappointed that I was unable to make good use of the Sensorsafe technology, but overall, this is still one of my favorite car seats I’ve tried.

I have 2 toddlers 3 & 4 yr old. I decided to try this seat out on my older son who will be 5 in June. He is front facing, around 40lbs & 44″ tall. Out of the box, the seat is big & bulky. It was hard to figure out how to adjust the crotch buckle as there is no way to easily access it.

I sat him in it inside our home to adjust the buckles/straps & headrest to fit him properly which was pretty easy & standard. He said his new chair was pretty comfy and felt like he had arm rests so he could rest his arms.

I have a Toyota Camry with another brand full size convertible car seat in it as well for my 3 year old, I found this one to be a little bigger & bulkier which took a little more room in the back seat.

Luckily for us, we don’t have a need for the middle seat in the back, but if we did , we definitely couldn’t fit an extra person back there. Installing the seat was a little difficult. The latch straps aren’t very long to begin with.

I struggled getting the latches to securely clip in because the latch handles are so big. Once secured, I realized that regardless of what recline setting I initially set the seat at, it would put the seat at the most upright seating position because of the strap length.

This would give my child absolutely no recline and would make his head flop all the way forward when he slept. He didn’t like that much and would complain his neck hurt when he woke up. The ratchet system to secure the latch system is amazing.

That is one of my favorite features of the seat, it makes securing it 100 times easier than the old traditional pull straps & I don’t have to worry that they’re too loose. My other favorite feature is the sensorsafe strap.

It’s super easy to connect to the phone and will let you know when you’re child is still buckled and when they unbuckle themselves. My kids have figured out how to unbuckle themselves since they were like 2! So this saved a lot of surprises & headaches.

It also warns you when it’s too hot, when your child needs a car seat break because they’ve been in there too long and if you forget your kids in the car and you don’t respond, it alerts your family members! That’s pretty cool.

I love the idea of being able to use one car seat for 10 years, but I don’t feel that’s realistic. I think it might be a great seat for rear facing children, but with difficulties I had installing it in my car as forward facing, it might be difficult to transition to forward facing.

Also, I have a pretty small standard vehicle, which was difficult to latch, my sister has a Chevy Traverse and my mom has a Chevy Equinox and their latches are a little further apart, I wasn’t able to latch it into their seats.

Had to use their old seats in those cars. All in all, I do like the idea of the seat. I think it’s great for younger rear facing children. I can’t wait to try it as a booster seat when my son get a little bigger.

Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this convertible car seat. It was really fun to try out a car seat that grows with my child and can last 10 years! Overall, this car seat was great in all categories.

Installation was time consuming, but I think its because I was getting to know the product and learning about the new ratchet system. Once you learn the technique, the cinching system is super helpful, especially when compared with other car seats that require a lot of strength to pull the straps tight to anchor the seat into the car.

You use an up and down motion, like you would with a ratchet wrench, to tighten the straps to secure the seat to your car. My child is 3. 5 years old and forward-facing, so there was the added time to switch the straps to accommodate a forward facing child, although this was relatively easy.

It did require me to lift off the cover to access the straps and move them along the length of the seat. The top strap that hooks behind the car seat was one of the easiest ones I have used; the buckle feature was easy to release and slide.

Once my son was in the seat, I found that it was difficult to tighten his safety straps easily, but after removing the seat and checking the belts, it seemed to “fix” itself because it felt normal after that.

When researching car seats a few years ago, it was super important for my family to buy a convertible car seat to grow with our children. The 4-in-1 feature is a no-brainer because it combines comfort, safety, protection, and affordability.

With the added Sensor-Safe technology, you have additional peace of mind knowing that your child is secure while driving. My son has definitely unhooked the chest clip while I was driving without me knowing.

When I first opened this out of the box I thought it looked great, plush, good quality and just a very nice looking car seat. After looking at it closer, the cushions and fabric could be of better quality.

I did like the cup holders and definitely the convenience of it transitioning from infant all the way til they no longer need a carseat. The extra tech-y features are a plus and such a great concept! The installation was rough- it was difficult to follow and had you jumping all around in the installation manual and for me using it in the first position you would think it would all be there first without having to jump to page 67.

Safety is my top concern so not having clear direction throughout was concerning I can’t imagine if this was your first carseat install! The ratcheting feature for adjusting and tightening the base and carseat down is great and left me feeling more confident with virtually no movement which was a big improvement from the current car seat I had.

This car seat is not one that you can transition from car to car with just the base in your partner’s car nor is this a carseat where you can use it as a carrier or attach it to a stroller so when the babies are really little that is something to consider.

The sensor with app connectivity is great for peace of mind especially as the kids get older and curious and unbuckle this will be great to have. You see the sensor flashing to know that it is working- which is nice but can also cause the kiddos to be more curious and try to unbuckle it.

This is a nice option for the price point and lifespan that you will have this carseat. I am thankful for Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this convertible carseat and I look forward to seeing how I like it with continued use overtime!.

My daughter is 2. 5 years old so we have been in the car seat game for a little while. The most stressful thing for me (for any car seat system) has been installation, as I have never felt that I can get them as tight as I want them and usually feel much better when my husband can come give the extra tightening pull.

This car seat solves that problem for me! With the ratchet system, I was able to get this seat super tight without even breaking a sweat, so this is by far my favorite feature on this car seat. The Sensorsafe technology is super cool and something I didn’t even know I needed.

However, with the chest harness, it clips/unclips via a push button so honestly, the first thing my daughter did was unclip it. Her previous car seat was more difficult to unclip ,so this was never an issue before this seat.

However, the app provides peace of mind so you immediately know when it is unclipped so you can begin the bargaining with your toddler to keep it clipped. As for the 10-year longevity of this seat, it is very nice to know that you can buy one car seat and only one for your child, which saves money in the long run.

I have not had to wash the cover yet but reading the manual, it seems easy enough to take the cover off for cleaning purposes. Also, I was able to go directly to the website and find helpful videos for installation that made a little more sense than reading the entire manual, which I will also refer to when ready to move to forward facing and again for the booster seat.

All in all, I really do like this car seat and am 100% crediting it to the easy installation tightening system and Sensorsafe technology. The seat seems comfortable enough for her but not a huge difference from our previous car seat.

The various lines of Evenflo car seats are all excellent. This was my third purchase from this brand. Due to timeline restrictions based on “Safety Guidelines”, this served as a replacement for an earlier model that had reached its expiry date.

So sad … because the one I had to discard was in mint condition!!! A word of caution … I bought this particular boxed model and took it home. At the time of installation, there was no “English” manual in the box; only one “French” manual.

I am not bilingual so this presented a problem for installation and the warranty coverage. There were some new additional pieces to the hooks that snap into the car frame … but it was difficult understanding the mechanics, without the manual.

My daughter came to this grandmother’s rescue. Weather the manual was not added at source (factory) or it was removed by another customer who may have been an original purchaser of this particular item (and returned it), is not known.

Was this item “re-shelved ” if it was returned… is another concern because clearly no one checked to confirm if all contents were still in the box!!! As this item was on sale at Canadian Tire at the time of my purchase, we had asked a sales clerk to go to the stockroom to bring us an “unopened” box.

The one on the floor was clearly opened previously and poorly taped to make it appear “new” to the next consumer!!! Needless to say, I now have to track down an “English” manual for future installation and warranty purposes!!!! Most frustrating!!!.

I bought this seat on sale for my child’s grandparents car. I have always been a big fan of britax so to buy a different brand to say the least I was a bit hesitant. However this seat is not bad. I was surprised at how well it tightened and stayed in place.

( we have used the graco 4ver in the past and it would not get nearly as secure) this seat was just as tight as my britax click tight. The turning ratchet was a great feature. I also liked that it came with cup holders.

Some things you should note. There is only 3 positions. All of which are really steep. For a newborn this would concern me. As My daughter is 1 we didn’t try the newborn insert so maybe this helps with that.

We have only tried the seat rear facing so far so not to sure how it will hold up once flipped around. It also does not have a level on it ( where britax and graco do). But as there is only 3 recline positions that could be why.

I did like shoulder straps and the red indicator line and I also liked how you can bring the shoulder straps up or down to fit your child a lot easier then with my britax and graco. This seat I was pleasantly surprised and the price was even better.

I would definitely recommend especially if you can get it on sale.

We have a different car seat for each child in our family, another evenflo and a graco. This is our favorite for ease of installation, look, and report of comfort. It’s heavy and it’s a bit bulky, but it fits well in our second row captain seat as well as passenger side of a full size suv bench seat (middle empty).

I think the size is necessary for the safety and comfort aspects. The infant recline setting is the best I’ve ever seen for avoiding that scary head leaning forward that has happened in the past for us using a Graco seat installed and positioned correctly (even using the rolled towel trick).

This seat easily reclined to allow the head to rest comfortably with no towel or pool noodle needed. Installing it forward facing for a larger child was a quick and easy switch, and that child immediately said they wanted this car seat, not their older evenflo model because this one was “sooooo soft and comfortable.

” The fabric really is smooth and soft. It appears to be durable and it wasn’t hard to remove and replace the cover for those inevitable washings. We don’t have a child quite big enough to use as the booster, but we transformed it to try it out, and it was simple to do and easy to install.

This is by far the best seat we’ve had and I think we may purchase additional to replace our existing convertible graco seats. If you look up evenflo, you’ll find they are consistently recommended for safety and high height/weight limits.

This one is no exception. Buy it. You won’t regret it.

The Evenflo Revolve360 Rotational All-In-One Car Seat was designed with longevity in mind. The 10 year expiration means this can be the only car seat your child will ever need, converting from rear facing at birth to forward facing to booster mode.

The revolutionary swivel design is a game changer providing ease in getting your child in and out of the vehicle. Between a bad back and a squirmy two-year-old that hates getting in her seat, the Revolve360 has made strapping my daughter in a lifesaver, by far my favorite feature of this car seat.

The seat rotates easily, both with and without a child. When rear facing, although this is a tight fit in my small SUV, the rotating seat simplifies the process of getting my daughter in and out. As a veteran parent, I did not find installation to be as straightforward as other car seats I have installed, as this seat had additional steps to its installation.

The booklet is thick and thorough, but I felt it was information overload. One of my initial recommendations was to include a QR code for instructional videos, but in searching Evenflo’s YouTube channel for video assistance, I discovered that they did include a QR code to their videos with the car seat, which is printed on the underside of the footrest flap.

I feel that a notecard with the QR code would present this information to new owners so it wouldn’t be overlooked. I did not take advantage of Evenflo’s ParentLink Consumer Care team to help with installation, but I like that the option to chat, call, and e-mail for assistance is available.

Once I watched the instructional videos, installation was a quick and simple process. One of my favorite features of this seat is the one-time installation that you can continue using between positions and seating modes without reinstalling as your child grows.

Other useful features I like are the dual-zone bead level indicator takes the guesswork out of the seat’s levelness for a correct rear-facing installation to optimize safety while ensuring comfort. the removable cup holders (rotate the cup counterclockwise and lift to remove) and the removeable, washable cover that allows you to keep the seat clean over time.

The seat padding is attractive, high quality, and comfortable. In addition, the safety features keep this car seat secure while providing Evenflo’s high safety standards. The underside of the strap pads is not fabric, rather rubberized, and over time, I wonder about its continued comfort and durability.

This car seat is by far my favorite we have owned and I recommend it to any parent that has a vehicle with a tether anchor, specifically those wanting a high quality convertible car seat that will last many years, those with back troubles, or those with smaller vehicles that could benefit from the rotating seat.

First, I want to thank the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this car seat to test. My overall first impression of the car seat was, “Wow, how innovative!” Upon opening the box, it was somewhat intimidating looking at a more complicated install than I was used to with my current convertible car seat.

However, by quickly reading the book while studying the car seat base it became obvious how simple the install would be. My daughter is still rear-facing, but I love that when she is ready to turn around I won’t have to re-install the whole car seat.

As for the day to day function of the car seat, a few things I love and a few areas for improvement. First, obviously I love the fact that it turns to get my daughter in and out easily. She loves it too – we call it her “spaceship” and she loves the quick turn and lock into place once she is buckled in.

It really saves my back from having to awkwardly lean into the car, although I’ll admit it has led to me bonking the back of my daughter’s head on the door frame a couple times. Additionally, all of the padding seems high quality and very comfortable for her, and she loves having two cup holders of her own! Areas of improvement – when pulling the strap to tighten the harness, it is hard to pull and feel like it is getting really tight.

I pull and pull and pull and still feel like it should be tighter than it is on her shoulders. Additionally, the “button” you push to release the strap is also less intuitive and kind of “buried” under the padding.

Finally, this really pertains more to the instructions, but I could not find anywhere in the instruction manual that indicated how long (what weight/size child) this car seat should be using the seat pad.

Maybe that’s because there isn’t a specific time, but for a mom who really likes to follow car seat safety perfectly, it leaves a feeling of uncertainty. Lastly, it is not clear in the book if the back pad or seat pad should go “in front” when you have the additional seat cushion removed.

It seems like the back pad goes in front, but then it kind of strangely bunches if your child isn’t very tall. Overall, the innovation and convenience of only installing the seat base once, and being able to more easily get my toddler in and out of the seat outweighs any of the downsides.

I am thrilled to have this wonderful car seat that will grow with her for many years.

Needed to buy a carseat on short notice. We have an evenflo safemax 3-in-1 already but one of the straps got damaged. We decided on this one and I think that might like it more than the safemax. This one is extremely lightweight and very easy to set up and install in the car.

The straps are also very easily changed for different heights. My only con would be that the cup holders have no liner. So when they get messy, to clean them you will have to remove the screw they give you to attach the armrest.

My child’s only complaints are: That it is lower than her old one so she can’t see out the window as easily. Also, the part that the straps click into sometimes pinches her leg when we are buckling her (whereas the safemax has a foam to protect from pinches).

Overall this is a good seat. On sale it’s an excellent value and add on bonus CT money app offers for even more savings! I do have one complaint about this seat. The straps are constantly getting twisted where they run through the under part and the buckles as well.

Oh actually two complaints, the “clips” that secure the bottom of the fabric cover/cushion are terrible. Always popped out so I replaced them with automotive panel style push clips. However I can’t complain too much as it’s kind of to be expected for a cheaper seat.

I got this seat for my youngest, who turned 4 this month. I meant it when I say this is my favorite toddler car seat for him to date! He is a big boy for his age, and this is the only car seat of its type that fits him comfortably with room to grow! The fabric is soft, the straps are adjustable with multiple height slots on the shoulder straps & 2 slots for the buckle between his legs.

The included dual cup holders are wide enough to fit most cups and deep enough so that things don’t fall out easily. The cup holders screw into the car seat with included screw instead of snapping in so they don’t come off & get lost.

The silvery grey and black color scheme is more for boys but could work for girls too. The dark fabric of the seat hides stains well. This car seat includes a removable pad for the child’s head that can go in any shoulder strap slots.

The seat comes with a 5 point harness that can be removed to accommodate a regular car seat belt! This seat holds children up to 110 lbs, which I personally feel is important because kids these days are getting bigger and taller.

The fabric is easily removed for cleaning. I can go on & on about how good it is and have recommended it to several of my friends already and plan to do to more! The only thing I were to change, were to add a no rethread harness option, but it’s not a deal breaker as the belts aren’t too hard to remove & replace for washing.

And I would lengthen the strap of the small removable grey head pad just a little bit. My son had to be on a higher shoulder belt slot, and the pad’s straps are snug in the wider slots of the highest shoulder strap slot so the Velcro of them head pad straps isn’t really touching and it keeps falling off, but he took it off so it’s not a deal breaker.

Other than that this is my favorite car seat I’ve gotten for my son!.

I saw so many reviews about the cup holders coming off. I am solely writing this review just based around that so other people aren’t deterred away from this car seat. There are 2 tiny screws that come with this car seat.

It is the ONLY thing you have to do as far as “building” this seat. The screws are solely for the cup holders! If you do not use these screws, then yes the cup holders will fall out easily, but if you use the screws for what they are intended for, then you can disregard all of the negative reviews on this carseat that are mostly based on the “awful” cup holders! I am so glad I didn’t listen to those reviews and got this seat because it is perfect! Get it and remember to screw the cup holders in! Lol! I hope this review helps resolve this issue!.

This car seat works great, it was easy to install and adjust to the proper fit. The cup holders have a screw you have to use to attach so all the reviews saying the cup holder doesn’t pop in, no it doesn’t pop in but you use the screws that came with the seat and screw them in from underneath and those cup holders aren’t going anywhere.

The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that this seat doesn’t have shoulder straps so I have to be careful when tightening the straps so that the strap doesn’t rub my kids shoulders or necks.

I usually try to make sure their shirt is underneath the strap completely to cover their skin from being rubbed. Not a huge issue, but really wished the seats came with them for comfort. We bought 2 of these seats, one to use with the harness and one as a high back booster and both have been great so far.

We have the graco transitions and debated between these seats and getting 2 more gracos and decided on these since they were $20 cheaper/seat. Overall I feel like the value was still worth it.

This booster car seat fits wonderfully in a sports car coupe. My biggest reason for purchasing this was for the safety. I also like that this booster car seat is not bulky at all and my daughter’s legs fit comfortably.

Having 2 cupholders is quite the bonus considering the lack of bulk. I really like this car seat. It is almost time for my daughter to transition to the booster (removing the harness) and I am hopeful it will be just as comfortable for her.

I think the high back design will be better than a no back design because I can retain some of the safety features and her head will be more supported, and therefore, more comfortable if she falls asleep.

I don’t mind that the headrest is not adjustable because my daughter has not complained.

I love the seat its very roomy and comfortable for my baby. My only dislike would be that its a little on the larger side if you have a smaller car or more then one child needing a car seat at one time.

Very secure and stable when installed in the car it doesn’t wiggle or budge when taking any kind of turns or curves. I would recommend this seat especially if you have a baby on the larger side it holds anywhere from 8 to 65 pounds with no issues and is a rear and forward facing seat so no need to replace it when its time to make the change.

At first I loved this car seat but lately I’ve notice it doesn’t fit my two year old well at all. I can’t loosen the straps and they’re so tight that I can’t buckle it. The shoulder straps keep falling down so it’s a constant struggle to lift them if they lift at all.

I absolutely cannot stand the cup holders it doesn’t hold his sippy cups and so he gets all worked up. The recliner doesn’t recline much because it is too big for most cars. However I can say I love how comfortable it is.

We can take road trips and I won’t worry that my kid is sore.

This is the only seat I’ve ever owned from which I could remove the cover, wash it, and replace it without uninstalling the seat from the car (forward-facing only). That’s about the only good thing I can say about it.

I was given this car seat when my daughter outgrew her bucket, and it gave us trouble from the start. When rear-facing, the tension wheels were nearly impossible for me to turn because they pressed into the formed section of my van’s bucket seats.

We had to pop off the little disc cover and attach a ratchet to the metal square inside for me to be able to tighten the straps. Moreover, these straps are not removable or replaceable. This makes it impossible to actually get them clean.

Both of my children had reflux and get motion sickness. The straps are gross. A mouse chewed through them (in the garage) while I was washing the cover. The seat is now useless. When I contacted customer service about it, they offered free shipping on a new seat.

Ha! The cup holders are a joke. Juice boxes fall through, any cups with wide bases will not fit, and my daughter still tries to put her crayons and toys in them to free her hands even though everything falls out nearly as soon as she drops it in there.

Was very excited for this seat because of the convertibility and the swivel feature, but I am rather disappointed with it. My son is only 5 months old and the straps are already tight on him, so I’m not sure how it’s supposed to “grow” with him.

The details state that is has “optional shoulder strap covers” but the only “optional” piece is the cover itself; there’s still a big, bulky cover over the strap itself that cannot be removed. Like other reviewers mention, this makes it incredibly hard to tell where the straps are in terms of shoulder height, and whether or not the baby is actually secure and strapped tight enough in the seat.

The straps also don’t come out very much, making it difficult to put little arms through. It’s also rather difficult to move the harness to different spots, and you have to basically take the entire cover off in order to see what you’re doing.

The seat also tilts to one side while turned towards you, which baby also doesn’t really enjoy. The seat itself is beautiful but the looks, spinning feature and security of the base are really the only good things about it.

Definitely would not recommend, especially for the price.

Just had a terrible experience with Evenflo. I installed the base of this carseat in the car as per instruction manual, popped the top on and – it immediately jammed. Followed some online tips on how to unjam it and were unsuccessful for 6 HOURS.

The seat belt lap band was installed underneath and trapped between the top and base so we were close to cutting the seatbelt. Cramped quarters in the back of my car to try and decipher what in tarnation was going on.

Finally, by the grace of god, it came free. Once out of the car we put the top back in the base to see what went wrong and it jammed again. This was on a Friday evening so two weekend days and MLK holiday later I was finally able to call Evenflo ParentLink customer service.

Explained what happened and the representative kind of snorted like this is an issue she hears about every day. She explains how to unjam it (press the recline button on the back down and with brute force push the whole seat into the base) but it doesn’t work – in fact THAT handle now gets jammed and I can’t depress it anymore.

She puts me on hold to talk to a supervisor. then tells me that because it was “customer damage” they can SELL ME A NEW ONE at a discounted rate. I said how was it customer damage, I followed the exact instructions and no where did it say anything that the recline button *must not be touched prior to installation* or it won’t work.

Also, the ‘fix’ to this is now also jammed so something is definitely wrong with the seat. I said that I would just return this seat to the company I purchased it from and she smugly said “you can’t return used car seats”.

I explained IT ISN’T USED because IT DIDN’T WORK. This company is an absolute joke. Don’t waste your time or money.

I was really excited to purchase this. I did my research on all the other rotating car seats and settled finally on the evenflo gold 360. The price was right and the reviews generally were all good, however I should have looked at the reviews that spoke about the crotch buckle being too short.

It is truly a beautiful invention but the #1 flaw and it’s a big one is the crotch buckle is so short that for most babies it tends to dig into their thighs. Although they boast about having the 3 different slots to adjust the crotch buckle this does not help the issue of the buckle digging into the thighs of my daughter.

Those slots are only meant to move it farther from her when what would really solve the issue is having a smaller buckle or having the Crotch portion adjustable like the shoulder straps are. It is a pain to see her uncomfortable because of this.

I have tried reaching out to evenflo but there was no help there. At this point I am trying to see if I can add some type of padding to the buckle so it does not dig into her thighs as much. We will see.

It’s disappointing I thought this would be a car seat she can grow with but I don’t think it will be possibe.

This is by far the most solid installation I’ve been able to get from a convertible car seat. The ratcheting strap system, once you figure it out, is the best I’ve used. I can’t imagine a system that works better.

It’s better than the pulley-assisted style that I thought was the gold-standard. The LATCH anchor attachments are also a step up from the competition with the pull-cord release mechanism vs the usual seat-belt button style system.

It allows you to push down hard on the anchor to latch it without risk of pressing the button and releasing the clip during installation. An interesting feature is the “infinite slide” shoulder straps.

Unlike other convertibles, the shoulder straps are independent of the lap belts, which allows them to slide up and down freely by simply pulling them out and then up or down. No more peeling off the entire car seat fabric to re-thread the straps once your little one grows enough for the next notch.

The seat overall seems well-built and very sturdy. Even the cupholders are great, as they are semi-circular in shape with an elastic band on one side. Much better design than the hang-on style that inevitably end up under the front seat.

My only slight negative is that the seat is very wide.

So we’ve had this car seat for a few months now, installed into my Jeep Compass—the family car—, a compact SUV with the backseat of a small sedan. This seat has been on long car rides and a 8 hour round-trip drive, so we’ve gotten some use out of it and I have finally made up my mind on it—this car seat is awful, straight trash.

Where do I even begin? We decided on this seat as we had a great experience with the Evenflo Sibby system of the infant car seat and the stroller—they’re great. Simple to use, seat was simple to install and it was sleek.

This thing here is extremely bulky, cheap (the headrest is humongous and you can see the styrofoam under the fabric) and entirely too large for any car smaller than a large SUV (for reference it fits perfectly into my parents’ Ford Edge).

We bought it curbside without even putting eyes on it, which was a mistake I said I’d never make again so I figured all car seats were huge and bulky, therefore we stuck with it for a few months until we couldn’t deal with it anymore.

My son was never comfortable in it, the sides of the seat are HUGE and it was very hard to get him in and out of without spraining your wrists. It was too big to put behind the passenger seat so we always had to crawl into the car and get him out of the seat from the middle and with it being so big it made trip-taking a horrible experience that we almost avoided completely.

The straps—oh, the straps—were constantly getting TANGLED. I could untangle them but apparently the tangle-fairy would show back up and ruin your day. On top of this, you can’t tighten them without having the strength of the Hulk so the straps were NEVER tight enough therefore I never felt my child was safe.

The only redeeming quality of this seat was the latch system. Save yourself the trouble and money in the long run and just spend the extra money for a Graco—we ended up with the SlimFit LX and it’s now incredibly obvious that the Evenflo seat is inferior.

It’ll be going into his grandparents car for those rare trips with them!.

We’ve been through many car seats between two kids and all vehicles (and grandparent’s vehicles) and this has by far got to be the worst car seat we’ve ever had. The styrofoam squeaks with every single bump or kid movement.

Like being stuck with a poorly placed to-go box in your car forever. Beyond that, the cup holders are completely removable- by your child. They then become weapons that get launched at the back of your head, at their siblings, and will fall out into the parking lot every time you open the door (then you’re crawling under your vehicle to retrieve them…) The straps are impossible to keep even.

One side will forever be tight and the other loose, and don’t get me started on the non-functioning buckle. I hope you’re not in a hurry to go somewhere! Do yourself a favor, don’t buy this thing. Or if you’re absolutely dead set on this model, reach out to me, I’ll sell you ours.

Late review: Best car seat, best price and made in the USA!. I bought this car seat in 2018 for our grandson’s first visit. He was 10 months old at that time. He was very comfortable in it. It was not hard to install in our SUV.

Our grandson is now 4 and a half years old and has a sister who will be a year and 10 months when they come visit this fall. This car set expires in July 2023 according to the label, in very good shape because it was only used briefly, 2 weeks at a time, twice 2 years when they came to visit, pre covid in 2019.

Material easy to clean, well padded, harnesses snug and easy to use. Now this will be his sister’s car seat so I need to look for another Evenflo car seat that transitions to booster seat for my grandson that will last for my granddaughter.

We bought 2 of these when our little dude outgrew his infant carrier, one for my car and one for my husband’s. After reading over some of the other reviews I decided I needed to leave one. We’ve never had an issue with the seat squeaking or making any noise.

If it did, it stopped and never made a big enough deal for us to go crazy over. Yes, the cupholders do come out which is a little inconvenient. But, if it bothers you that much, just leave them out. I haven’t had an issue with my son getting pinched by the buckle or an issue with the straps as I adjust them everytime I buckle him in anyways.

Overall, it was a great purchase and my big boy seems comfy and content.

We bought this as a backup to our big fancy Cybex car seat when we needed to bring a car seat on vacation but I don’t consider it a backup anymore. This seat is highly portable as it’s slimmer and more lightweight than many contemporary car seats.

This is an ideal “no frills” car seat if you need to put multiple car seats in a smaller auto, don’t own a car but need to take an occasional taxi, have just one car seat and need to swap personal vehicles, or if you’re going on a big trip where weight and dimensions are a concern.

It was also affordable- I think we got it for about $60 on Amazon whereas our Cybex was more than five times that! It’s also fairly straightforward to buckle a baby in compared to other seats. However, I understand that I’m speaking purely from the standpoint of an adult’s convenience when using the seat! My baby isn’t old enough to communicate how this seat compares to the Cybex in terms of comfort.

The Tribute is a very upright chair, whereas the Cybex seat and back is more angled. I don’t know if this makes a difference to my baby’s comfort but you’ll also have to guess that for your child as well.

As far as safety ratings, I believe the Cybex technical specifications are supposed to be higher than this seat in most performance measures. IF you want more “Bells and whistles,” you’ll have to pay more as well, so that’s the trade-off.

I received the Tribute LX convertible car seat in Pink Ice in exchange for my honest review. I was immediately impressed with the quality of this car seat for the affordable price tag it has. The car seat itself is very lightweight making it extremely easy to switch between mine and my husband’s vehicle or even bring on an airplane.

The 100% polyester material is easy to wipe clean and can also easily be taken off to wash if needed. We are currently using the seat facing backwards and it was very easy to install. My 10 month old has plenty of leg room and feels comfortable with the positioning and slight recline.

The harness and buckle are easy to adjust as well. The car seat also come’s with a cup holder which is handy. I find this car seat to be a good value for my family and would recommend this product to my friends.

We bought this on sale for our daughter to use in our other vehicle. She says she is very comfortable in it and likes that she has room to move her arms more than her Graco seat which was more than double the price of this one.

The front buckles in this do tend to flip around backwards however, and this gets annoying to continuously reset to the way they were. The overall quality of materials in this is on the light side compared to our Graco, but for the price and the amount we use it, we are fine with it.

The cup holders in this are excellent if installed correctly. Please read the instructions and you will see that there are two screws included to fasten them to the seat base. They snap in lightly and then must be screwed down.

They will not move at all once this is completed.

Overall this car seat is annoying. The buckles and straps are difficult for even me. I get that they’d be tough for the kid so they can’t get out, but I’m literally always fighting with this booster.

After searching for another option because I dislike this one so much I’ve learned there are a number of better options to choose from. I got this one because I really liked our infant evenflo car seat for my other child.

Thought I’d give the brand a try in the booster. Also the cup holders will literally fall off every time you brake. Unless you’re gonna superglue them or zip tie them on expect to not be able to utilize the cup holders at all.

I was able to install this carseat all by myself. I consulted with a Certified Carseat Technician (CPST) and found out that it was CRUCIAL to attach the cupholders. It doesn’t look like they mean much, but they are part of the structural integrity of the unit.

My child finds it extremely comfortable, and kept thanking me for getting them a carseat they could easily get in and out of, rather than the former one that was large, and clunky and difficult for everyone.

It took me a total of 20 minutes from start to finish, and I needed to adjust the chest strap up a level. I was extremely impressed with how easy it was to secure the seat.

I bought this I think a year ago. I loved it except for it I wanted to chill in my car with the kids for whatever reason the car had to stay running because the seat would go off nonstop. I was in a wreck almost a month ago (thankfully kids weren’t in it) so car seat was not tested in that sense but was replaced due to the accident.

Also having a new vehicle it now only goes off twice and then goes silent. I can’t decide if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. I mainly purchase it so if I put my son in first and shut the door to keep him from running around and then going to get his sister buckled, I wouldn’t take off without him being buckled first.

Overall a great car seat just not sure about how well the sensor works in my new car.

My daughter loves this, took it out of the box so I could set it up to go in the car and she decided she wanted to sit and be buckled up, put her in and could not get her out of it. She decided to stay in the car seat for about 35-40 minutes.

It’s very sturdy and comfortable. 10/10 on how easy it was to out into the car. I got it latched and put in under 5 minutes. Definitely love it best purchase made.

I bought this seat for my tiny 4yo about a year ago. It was great at first. Easy to install, comfortable fabric, lots of padding, and it seems very safe. The only thing she complained about were the MASSIVE headwings (She can’t see around them.

). Recently, though, she’s begun to complain that she feels “squished” in the seat. I looked at the fit, and her shoulders are pressing against the sides of it. In addition, the harness straps are cutting into her neck.

My daughter is now five years old. She weighs 30 pounds and is 37″ tall. There is absolutely no reason for this seat to NOT fit her, but it most definitely doesn’t. Considering that the seat is causing discomfort in a child of her petite size, I can’t imagine using it for a child of average height and weight.

She’s far too light to use it as a booster seat, so I’m basically out $150, because now, I’m going to have to buy something that fits her correctly. Very disappointed.

This was the first car seat we had purchased my son after his infant one. However, I wish we didn’t. The nightmare with the straps always crossing and unthreading was horrible. My son was also quickly able to navigate how to unlock the chest clip because it wasn’t sturdy enough when it clicked together.

No matter how hard we put the clip together, it always came off. It seemed like it was just not properly manufactured. However, the crank on both sides of the seat were the second nightmare. Tearing our hands up as we tried to tighten the straps for safety, only for it to never get tight enough.

This entire car seat was the worst investment I had made as a new parent. A lot of the other evenflo car seats have been better manufactured. This one was just a lemon.

We have Evenflo Symphony car seats and LOVE them. We needed another one for my parents to take the kiddos and quickly purchased this at our local Walmart. I HATE IT! The knob that you use to tighten the straps is so hard to turn and only does one strap at a time, so you have to reach over and tighten the other strap with the knob on the opposite side of you.

My toddler is on the taller side and this car seat is too short for him. You are supposed to have 1 inch from the top of the car seat to the top of their head and his is just flush with it and it doesn’t adjust like the symphony does.

The quick release straps that connect to the care are a great design and the ability to slide the harness height up and down are nice, especially for grandparents with multiple sized grandkids. I like Evenflo brand, just not this car seat.

Again, Highly recommend the Evenflo Symphony Sport.

Apparently evenflo doesn’t respond to emails so maybe if I leave a bad review you will respond. I would check the car seats that were manufactured on 09/04/2019, model number 38231757. I purchased this from Walmart four days ago and have tried to figure out what was wrong with it, without any help from Evenflo.

I will try to explain this. Neither my fiancé nor I could tighten the harness unless the seat was not latched into the car and our daughter was not sitting in it. Just FYI, I used to be the manager of the baby department at a store and am very familiar with how car seats work.

We are using it rear facing so the belt that latches into the car is in the bottom slot. Are you with me? I took the car seat cover off this morning and realized there is a white piece of plastic that the belt is looped into, I assume, in order for the belt not to twist.

This piece of plastic was sitting over the harness straps, so when my daughter was sitting in the car seat there was no way anyone could have tightened the harness because it was pulling her legs up with it.

Maybe that’s why she was crying so much when we were trying. So I struggled to take the belt out of the plastic loop and put the loop under the harness, put the belt in the loop and voila! Thank goodness because my hands are so beat up from four days of trying to tighten this thing.

I assume that my hands will continue to get beat up since the tension knobs on the side are so tight against the seat of my car that you get abrasions just from turning the knobs. So, I’m not sure how the car seat is yet, we used it one time since I fixed it, my daughter seems to like it so far.

It’s roomy and the cup holder is cool. If I knew it was going to be this stressful I probably wouldn’t have bought it. Thanks Evenflo!.

I wanted to like this car seat but I’m terribly disappointed in it’s design. My children are 13 months apart and last year when my son was born we bought two Safety1st seats for my daughter and were gifted a Stratos for my son for when he was older.

At the same time we bought another Stratos with the idea that these would eventually go in my husbands car and the Safety1st seats would move to mine. Fast forward a year and my son is out of his carrier and we swapped seats this weekend.

To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. I’ll start with the pros – these are very nice looking seats. They’re lightweight and relatively easy to install. Now, the cons – I hate the cup holders.

My kids pull them out and throw them and they’re essentially useless. Also, the seat is huge. Our plans to have these in my husbands Jeep Patriot didn’t work because they simply won’t fit without pushing the front seats to the steering wheel and dashboard.

We had to move them to my VW Atlas and it’s still a tight fit. We never planned for these to be our everyday seat and I’m concerned about how long I’ll be comfortable using it. Neither child comes close to reaching the head rest and the belt seems to strap over the top of my daughters legs instead of between them.

Neither baby looks particularly safe. I really wanted to like these seats but I can’t see them serving our needs and now, a year out and with a weekend of wear, I don’t see any way of rectifying the situation without now having to buy two new seats.

We own several Evenflo car seats and have been satisfied with every seat we have purchased except this one. I decided to purchase the Stratos after reading so many good reviews. We needed a seat for our nanny that was light weight for her and around $100.

This seemed to fit the bill. We recently borrowed the Stratos seat from her since we were traveling by plane and didn’t want to lug our 25 lb Symphony through the airport. Installing forward facing on the plane was not an issue but rear facing in the rental car was a total nightmare.

The flip out recline piece is chincy and I thought that it would break off at any moment. It didn’t matter what position the recline was in, it was never level and prevented the seat from being secure.

We tried installing it in three different vehicles, using a blanket to try and get it level and it was never even remotely secure in any of them. After literally spending HOURS trying to install this seat rear facing we turned it forward facing just so that we could go to the fire station for help.

We really did not have any other options since the car rental company did not have any rear facing car seats available for rent either. At the fire station, they were dumbfounded as well as to why this seat was not installing securely.

We all read the manual several times over and the seat was still loose. We ultimately rolled up several blankets and stuffed them under the seat to get it as secure as we possibly could. To say that I was a nervous wreck driving with my 15 month old in this seat is an understatement.

Luckily we were not in an accident. If I could return this seat I would but unfortunately we purchased this seat a few months ago at a store that is now out of business. I’m out the money we spent on it and I’m going to have to get a new rear-facing seat for our nanny’s car because I do not feel safe with her driving my daughter around in this seat.

I’m extremely disappointed with the Evenflo Stratos.

I’m using this car seat forward-facing for my almost 3 year old son. After using this seat for about a week now, I can say I’m very happy with it. Not only does it look great, but it has a solid construction and plenty of padding inside to keep my son comfortable.

Here’s a quick rundown: Setup and adjustments – This seat was extremely quick for me to set up. It comes pre-configured to be installed forward facing so it just needs a few minor adjustments before it’s ready to use.

It’s just a matter of adjusting the shoulder straps to the right height and changing the crotch buckle position if needed. This seat also has removable cup holders which need to be attached but they take just a second to put on.

Installation – I installed the seat using my car’s LATCH anchors. Installing the seat was also very quick and intuitive. If you’ve ever installed another car seat it’s the same process – if not the instructions are easy to follow.

The only difference from other seats I’ve installed is that this one comes with LATCH guides. These actually solve one of the most irritating problems I’ve faced with other seats – it can be a bit frustrating finding the anchors since they’re hidden between the seat back and bottom.

The guides that come with this seat hook onto the LATCH anchors and provide an opening directly to the anchors so you don’t have to search for them every time you install/remove the car seat. So this is a great feature if you frequently have to take the seat out and move it between cars.

Finally, once I had the LATCH connectors attached and the strap tightened down, I found this seat to be extremely secure. I literally couldn’t get the seat to move at all from side to side, so I really feel confident in the safety of the seat.

Daily Use – Over the last week or so this seat has been working great and my son also has been pretty excited about it. We actually went for one longer drive this week (about 2 hours each way) and no complaints from him from the back seat.

He actually almost fell asleep a couple of times. And getting him in and out is easy so we’ve been very happy. Just a couple of things to watch out for with this seat. Being able to remove the cup holders make cleaning them a breeze, but my son was watching when I initially installed them.

Knowing that the cup holders come off he removed them and I found the floor in the back seat. This was kind of irritating so I recommend not letting your kid see that these can be removed and hopefully they leave them alone.

Also, for the top tether strap, I found that the fixed length section between the hook and adjuster was a bit on the long side. This might vary depending on the height of the seat in your car, but for me this put the adjuster partially behind the top of the car seat, which made it a little bit tricky to adjust.

Aside from these coupe of things this is an excellent car seat and it’s been working out great for us.
