20 Best Essence For Sensitive Skin (2023 Updated)

When Tatcha first came out I was interested in purchasing a lot of the products however when I talked to an employee (FYI with flawless skin) she told me that Tasha is fine but it has a lot of extra/unnecessary ingredients which is why she doesn’t use it.

This is important because fast-forward a few years and I finally decided to buy some Tatcha products. For reference I have sensitive combination/oily skin. Its very rare that my skin breaks out and I don’t really have any skin issues, I mainly use products to prevent aging.

So I purchased this treatment serum and for the first week all was fine and it did plump and hydrate my face, maybe a little too much because i started to notice my face did tend to feel a bit greasy by the end of the day.

The following weeks my skin started to go south. I started to get pimples every so often then I started getting those deep under the skin pimples, I was noticing the pores on my nose and chin and my skin just started to look rough.

I finally stopped using this product and all those issues started to disappear. So the product does deliver in terms of plumping and hydrating but I think the extra ingredients were clogging my pores so my skin was just fighting with this product.

I think if you dry skin this likely won’t be an issues, but if you have sensitive combo/oily skin beware.

First off, let me say, I REALLY like this serum. But I need to let you know why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I took off a half star for the directions, it says there is light exfoliation with Lactic Acid and AHAs, and that confused me.

I even asked in a forum if I was allowed to use with other chemical exfoliants, like products with AHA and BHAs in it. I got lots of likes on my question, but no answer, so I really thought about it, and I figured, the main objective of this expensive serum is to hydrate, so I thought there must not be too much exfoliating properties or it would be marketed as such.

The second half star I took off was for the price. Yes, I know Tatcha luxury and bougie, and I buy other products from their line, but to be very honest, I didn’t see such a big difference in this product that I can’t get in one that costs about half the price, I currently use a hyaluronic acid serum, two different ones that are very similar in price and results that cost about half of the Tatcha one, so about 42 to 49 dollars.

I will pay for great skincare, but I won’t pay just for a name. Maybe I am underestimating how much the chemical exfoliants are doing in this serum, if that’s the case then maybe it is worth every dime of the 88 dollar price tag, but then that also means Tatcha needs to do a better job explaining that this is a dual product, a hyaluronic acid serum and a chemical exfoliant in one, which makes this a great price.

That being said, again, I do love this product, but I probably won’t be purchasing this again. I did receive this product for free, in return for an honest review. The I guess my main problem was wondering if I could use this in conjunction with Sunday Riley Good Genes, or Ole Henrikson’s night time BHA serum, or if the Dewy Skin Serum was an all in one product, because I typically don’t use chemical exfoliants during the day.

I’m not a newbie to skincare, but I’m also not an expert, so I’m not sure if I missed something or if maybe it wasn’t explained as good as it could have been. Once I finish this bottle, I’ll keep an eye on my skin and if it seems like it’s missing this Serum, then I will run out and repurchase.

I currently use the sensitive skin rice exfoliating wash, the Essence and the silk eye cream and the Silk Skin Cream. I also use the Dewy Skin Cream when my face needs the extra hydration.

This stuff is amazing- the formula is really unique and my skin loves all of the actives in it. I will say to the person that says “dimethicone doesn’t belong in skincare”, that’s like saying you don’t think water belongs in skincare- dimethicone or some other type of silicone is in 98% of skincare products, and for good reason.

There are no harmful effects from it (and is in fact used as a treatment for sensitive and dry skin) and it gives much needed slip to formulas that would otherwise be difficult to rub in or homogenize in development.

It 100% belongs in skincare. Anyway, this particular treatment has an amazing blend of actives that you would be hard-pressed to find from any other brand. And no, I don’t like it because it’s by Tatcha, nor am I deceived by the packaging.

I get annoyed when people who had a bad experience just can’t believe that everyone must be just like them. People have rated this formula so highly because it’s effective for them. There are other people in the world with different skin types than you.

sensai is perfect for all skin types, leaves your skin feeling fresh. I’ve been using it for over 6 years and do not plan on changing anytime soon. Leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. So glad it’s part of the Woolies store, just wish it was available in all the stores.

I have used this for as long as I can remember. The packaging changes over the years but the product remains just as good. It leaves my skin super soft but not oily. Its a light watery lotion that covers easily and sinks in quickly.

Smells divine. The product came from Europe so took a little while but arrived before the expected date.

I had a horrible Chemo rash on my face. The nurse said it was the worst one she had seen in over 20 years. I was seeing a dermatologist and the steroid cream helped but once the rash cleared it left my skin super dry and scaley, along with living in a dry climate.

To put it mildly, my skin was ruined. I decided to buy the box of samples from Lindi. The lavender face serum is amazing. It nourished my skin under the super moisturizer I had already been using and my skin is almost back to normal.

I have completed chemo and radiation and still use it. You can also use the citrus one but I like the calming smell of the lavender. This product is a game-changer for anyone going through the harsh chemicals of cancer treatment to had scaley dry damaged skin for some other reason.

It is worth every penny. It sooths my skin even now.

I absolutely love Lindi Face Serum! It feels like liquid silk on my dry skin. It’s the first thing I put on after I’ve cleaned my face, morning and night. It is so moisturizing, never greasy feeling.

I had never heard of Lindi Face Serum until my man friend received a ‘cancer packet’ filled with various items beneficial to cancer patients; the sample of Lindi Skin Face Serum was the best thing in the box.

I’ve continued to use Lindi Skin because it is a great product for dry skin, Highly recommended by me, a 73-year-old with dry skin!.

I received my first bottle as a gift while going through chemotherapy. It’s an amazing product and I have continued to use it. My skin looks so amazing, no lines and smooth skin. Feels wonderful. No one believes my age and I will continue to use this and the moisturizer as they are such a great product! My skin care professional asked me what I’m using and also my nurses.

Hopefully they are also passing on the name of Lindi.

My skin type: oily, combo, [extremely] sensitive skin. This product is great! Especially when you’re recovering from skin experiment mishaps. I’ve been trying to incorporate retinol into my skincare routine, and even though I’ve been using it only once a week (to slowly build up tolerance), my skin was still going crazy! It was dry, flaky, with red bumps everywhere.

This tea essence really helps calm down my skin (soothe irritation), put the moisture back into my skin, and helps with the recovery process. 10/10 would recommend! P. S. When my skin is normal (aka back to the state of oily/combo), I apply this product with a cotton pad (swipe it all over).

But when it’s irritated/dry/tight, I pour the essence into my hand & gently pat it into my skin for better absorption (a way to add more moisture). And then, I’ll apply a moisturizer afterward. Hope this helps! :).

i’ve been using the kombucha essence for about two weeks now. i layer and rotate a zillion other products, so i can’t point to miraculous results (especially since i also added the cosrx propolis toner to the mix at the same time – though i’m not reaching for that one daily like this one.

), but i can say that my skin is happy happy. my face is just increasingly subtly soft, dewy, and glowy. the essence is milky and a bit like a liquid moisturizer. my skin certainly feels nourished and moisturized after using it.

the essence itself can be layered without suffocating. it isn’t greasy. maybe there’s a tiny bit of tackiness? i’m impatient though, so maybe that’d go away with more drying/absorbing time haha. i use it in my nighttime routine and follow with other serums (isntree mugwort, skinfood propolis, i’m from rice, AND krave beauty great barrier relief), then medicated creams (tretinoin, azelaic acid, AND metro cream) and later with a thicker moisturizer (iunik beta glucan, dear klairs blue calming cream OR illyoon ato cream), so any tackiness is ultimately neutralized.

i’m very happy with this purchase and addition to my collection. it’s a treat. ^_^ also, i trust it. last night i had a random af dermatographia attack with my cleansing oil, and i took Benadryl and stripped my routine down to: krave matcha cleanser, i’m from mugwort essence, dr.

ceuracle komchucha essence, skin1004 centella asiatica ampoule, isntree mugwort ampoule/serum(?), and dear klairs calming cream. last thing! i’ve used dr. ceuracle for a while. i’ve gone through 4 bottles of their tea tree ampoule, which i use in my morning routine.

I originally bought this for the 7-skin method after seeing it on Gothamista. It’s thick, so I used it as the last one or two layers with some other thinner serums. I have acne-prone skin, and my regimen is to alternate nights using an acid treatment and the 7-skin method.

However, I began to notice a reduction with any acne bumps in the morning after the 7 skin treatment. This was surprising because I a not using any actives. I began to experiment, isolating the different serums, and realized that if I just did one or two layers of this treatment alone, it was successful in healing/reducing/soothing any existing acne.

Magical! Quickly became my go to, esp on nights when I might need too tired for multiple layers, I just use this. This lasts a long time – finally ready to purchase another, and sad that it’s currently out of stock.

I’ll be trying them other blithe treatments and then buying those one in bulk when it’s available again. Just but this, you won’t regret it!.

The Kanebo lifting deep filler works well, not sticky nice and light. Best off all it works better than it says. Thank you

First off: I have been lucky enough for the dispenser in my bottle to evenly pump out the same amounts of niacinamide and snail solution. I heard that this may not be the case for some users, but I cannot complain.

I had never used niacinamide before, so the first few days (I am using this essence in my night-time routine), I observed my skin getting extremely flaky, and feared that the niacinamide exacerbated my psoriasis for some reason.

But I stuck to the routine to give it a fair chance, and it got much better! I am nearly a month in, and my skin is now definitely more hydrated, less prone to being too oily, and just feels nicer overall! If you are not squeamish about using snail mucin, and if you are curious about how this works (maybe you haven’t used niacinamide with snail mucin before; or maybe vice versa?), then I would definitely recommend you try this! Two pumps are plenty for my face and neck, so this lasts a really long time, too!.

[1] The Product: Dark bottle in matte plastic. The essence is clear and liquidy but not totally water-like. Odorless. / [2] My skin type: Oily to Combination, sensitive, acne-prone. I’m in my mid-30s.

/[3] Product on my skin: It got tingled at the first couple of uses. The essence makes my skin looks plump at the moment of use, but must be followed by the next steps in skincare routine to provide enough moisturize and lock it in the skin.

It doesn’t react much on my skin beside the tinkling effect. I didn’t feel any better or excited with the experience or the formula at the beginning. However, after 2 week using, i noticed a healthy glow on my skin.

I learnt a technique from the Korean which was putting the essence into the palm and padding gently into the skin until absorbed. Repeat the process 5-7 times. It worked. / [4] I’m quite bothered with the plastic packaging.

I probably would try some other products before making the decision of re-purchase this one. / [5] Upon my research of the ingredient list, the product contains DISODIUM EDTA (a strong emulsion stabiliser to protect the integrity of the product) as the last ingredient of the list.

While Paula’s Choice and L’oréal both mentioned that it was safe to use, I found another article by meta-pora, stated that : “However, since disodium EDTA also acts as a booster to enhance absorptions of the product, caution should be exercised regarding the whole formula if there are any other potentially harmful chemicals/ingredients that can freely absorb into the skin, due to the ‘help’ from disodium EDTA.

“. So, yes the ingredient is safe to use, but if there is any other in the list that might be not suitable for your sensitive skin, please note that it might get boosted by disodium EDTA. / Stay safe and enjoy your self-care routine!.

I have been using the deep-clean cleanser, Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Exfoliating Toner, Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturiser, Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Serum & the Water Sleeping Mask. I can honestly say after trying so many skin products (some very expensive) that I have finally found a brand that actually works! It doesn’t take long to start working either! Despite having microdermabrasion, I had bad black heads on my nose & chin, but since using the cleanser & toner they’ve all but gone! The cleanser & toner are so effective, yet aren’t harsh on your skin or moisture sapping like other products I’ve used.

I suffer with Rosacea on my cheeks. This used to be hot, uncomfortable/sometimes painful & visibly bright red. This was obviously embarrassing for me. Since using Laneige it’s no longer an issue, as my cheeks are no longer bright red or hot.

My Mum & boyfriend have also visibly noticed the improvement. I have also noticed that the scarring/dark spots around my mouth & chin area (from monthly period spots) have all but gone. I’m also yet to have a flare up since using Laneige! The serum is absolutely divine & feels like silk on your skin.

It’s my favourite product! The cream moisturiser, sleeping mask & the serum are all beautifully moisturising without being oily & they soak into your skin easily. Honestly hand on heart cannot recommend these products enough! 10/10 5*.

I love this product! My skins looks very healthy and hydrated. I have combination skin and this works perfectly for me. I needed something hydrating because my cleanser contains salicylic and glycolic acid which strips moisture from my face.

In the day, I pair my cleanser and toner with my Paula’s choice vitamin C serum, Paula’s choice omega + complex moisturizer and the Innisfree sunscreen. At night, I pair my cleanser and toner with the Urban skin rx retinol rapid repair treatment and my day moisturizer.

I use my Paula’s choice 2% BHA exfoliate instead of the retinol after every 4 nights. Love the combo!!.

this one is great if you have oily skin, as this is what it was intended for. it has a soft, clean scent to it. I love that after using it, I see the left over oils and debris that my cleanser missed, which makes me feel like my face is very clean.

leaves a very light moisturizing feeling. if you want more moisture or have dry or dehydrated skin. try their ‘cream skin’ toner. that is one of my favorites as well when I want extra moisture and hydration ! if you have dry skin, this may not be moisturizing enough for you.

but I really like this one for my skin.
