20 Best Epoxy Glue For Wood (2023 Updated)

I purchased this product because, when compared to other so-called “wood restorers”, (A) the two parts are easier to mix together; (B) it’s FAR easier to use a small spatula to apply the mixed product; and (C) it definitely has a higher “tackiness” or “stickiness” than others I’ve used.

In other words, there’s less waste. But, be advised: I live in the west, where summers are dry and hot. Beware of using P. C. Woody in the heat of a summer’s day, because it will harden in a fourth of the time the product information says it will! Mix ONLY the amount you can apply.

and cut that by a fourth if you use it in hot summer sun. That “quick-hardening” in sunlight is the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

As someone who is pretty handy and always working on home projects I discovered this product several years ago and have used it quite often for wood repair. Upside – once dry it is a hard and permanent wood repair patch.

Far stronger than any other wood repair product I have tried. Downside – it’s pricy for the amount you get compared to products like Bondo, fix-all, wood putty, etc. so if you have a large repair good luck.

It needs to dry and cure fully for about 24 hours ( depending upon temperature) before sanding. If you sand too soon you’ll have a mess. Trying to stain it to match surrounding wood is difficult at best.

I almost always use it where it’s going to be painted.

A bit hard to handle when still wet, but really strong and it blends with my pine logs really well. I also tried a competing product but it dried with an odd reddish color that was ok for painting afterward but no good for staining.

This product took stain just like the new pine replacement log I installed. But didn’t quite stain as darkly as the old logs I stripped (the ones that actually needed repairing). Nonetheless it’s still a fairly good match and blends in well when all said and done.

This works great It makes a very strong replacement for any wood fixes a I find it to be in most cases stronger than the wood I am replacing. I like that it’s not messy and very easy to use. You do have to knead it to the point at which is is one uniform color or you will be disappointed.

A few notes: if using your bare hands, it does tend to want to stick to your fingers when filling holes. Moistening your fingers slightly will solve this. It does have a very unique smell (to me kind of a cross between tuna and a skunk), but not much worse than other epoxys I’ve used.

and finally, getting it out of the container is a pain. Sometimes this takes longer than the actual repair job. I just tap it upside down on my desk a few times, and eventually it will give. If anyone else has tips for removing it, I’d love to hear them Overall a great product.

Very short working time and the putty was very course. All I needed to do was fill some countersinks in plywood but this putty was difficult to work with. I should have just used ordinary wood putty.

I purchased 20 of these to help repair my porch posts and spindles. Although described as five minute set time I found it seemed workable for about 10 minutes and then started getting solid quite quickly after that.

I found the easiest way to work with it was to use a paper coffee cup and cut it down to about two inches high. Then I’d empty 50% to 100% into the cup and mix it thoroughly with a popsicle stick. Then I’d bend the cup so it had a pouring spout; and used the popsicle stick to guide the glue into the mold I created with masking or duct tape? I let it harden over night then sanded it with a grinder as it’s extremely hard.

If given the choice to pay extra for Locltitie over the Ace and Devcon brands, do it. For some totally ridiculous reason, now all Devcon and Ace duel-plunger glues come with caps that don’t even pretend to stay on, when you try and save the glue you didn’t use when you first opened it.

How Ace can sell their glues in these containers is something they need to explain. Until they do, stick with Locktite, which continues to use the sort of snap-on caps that Ace products used to use.

Provides an decent bond, but for the high price (with such a small quantity) I was expecting better from JB Weld. At least in my experience with the product, (after properly mixing, and letting it sit a minute or so per instructions) it didn’t set in an hour.

It was still very malleable, almost silicone like. I was expecting rock hard epoxy. It did eventually set a few days later but JB Weld’s claims on the package are a bit misleading. Maybe I got a bad batch.

Excellent product. great hold and quick setting. On the other hand, it was so quick to set that while securing my ‘weld’, which only took a few minutes, the application nozzle clogged with the epoxy and is no longer usable.

Maybe my fault because I did not clear it immediately, but had to set my clamps first. Overall a good value however will have to make an applicator to use effectively again.

Thought I could use this to “fill in” cracked ceramic cup but this is primarily for bonding purposes. Since I did not have the “chips” to reattach, I could not really use this. I originally was looking for Milliput but you did not have this in your store.

Keeping this for future use for bonding purposes.

Great way to permanently repair exterior wood trim, posts and beams that would be expensive to replace with new. I have repaired 12 full dimension 6″x6″ approximately 20′ long posts and beams associated with them that support a high deck and roof structure.

They had severe weather damage and I had repaired them with Bondo in the past but it did not last more than a year before it started to squeeze out of the weather cracks. I repaired half of the posts and beams using Abatron a year and a half ago and the wood remains in perfect condition.

I am now about finished repairing the remaining beams. I also have found Abatron to be the perfect repair for cracks in my cedar siding. I am very impressed with this product and highly recommend it.

When MyBondo repair failed I contacted technical support at Bondo and the rep told me he hated to recommend a competetors product but for my repairs Abatron would be his choice. The tough part was removing all of the old filler.

I also used liquid wood everywhere that I used the Wood Epoxy to make certain that I got the best repair possible.

the only fix I’ve found that lasts for repairing rotted or decayed wood. The strength and the bond are excellent. Coefficient of expansion is identical as wood so it lasts and very durable. Working with WoodEpox the 1st time is a little tricky but you’ll see good results.

I’ve found that a tiny amount of water on your hands helps molding and shaping the mixed product.

I have started to use this to repair the edges of a plywood deck that was originally sheathed with fibreglass cloth and resin. Unfortunately during the last 40 years someone used a sander nearby and rubbed the fibreglass away leaving the bare plywood.

I have used the Albaton Wood epoxy as it is advertised that it wont shrink to seal the raw edges and in some places gaps in the plywood. One can use it in temperatures down to 10F. The first application (3 days ago) had to be “encouraged” to start hardening by using a hot air gun.

Yesterday it had hardened enough to let me sand it down. I then applied a second coat in parts. Again because the temperature was just above 10F I had to use the hot air gun to get the hardening process going.

I am not sure if I was sold “old” stock as the Part A material (white) was quite dry only once I started mixing the (Beige) B material did I get a putty like mix that could be shaped. Heat certainly helps when mixing and when filling cracks.

I have just checked the second application and it has finally set hard. I have not rated this product Excellent Quality as I did find it quite hard to use. Compared to Poly cell its expensive ! thus the lower score.

Brought this as a high temperature epoxy filler to cover up an electrical repair. Quick setting (mix and immediately fill else it goes too thick). Seemed to go hard within an hour. Left over night and was rock solid the next day.

Also used as body filler on a car panel repair. Was easy to apply and sand down afterwards. Didnt seem to stick very well to shiny metal, like aluminium or stainless steel, hence only 4*.

Sorted crack on my vw new beetle plastic bumper. It was about 20 cm long and this amount of resin was enough. I drilled holes on both sides of the crack and support it from back with plastic, builders mash.

Araldite is very smooth to work with. Takes very little effort to mix both components. Has long working time, it is stated 90 mins but I did a job in about 8 mins and during application on and around crack, it had nice texture, enough smooth to place it where I want but hard enough not to drop.

Hopefully my wife will pay more attention on walls, other cars bumpers and bollards so I wouldn’t need any of this repair stuff but reality is that in about two months I am at Halfords buying new Araldite.

I was tasked with repairing an old Swarovski figurine and researched how best to do it. It was only then that I became aware of the existence of epoxy that dries clear and colourless. I’m sure there are unbranded versions that are cheaper but the Araldite product was easy to use and did the job perfectly.

Make sure you read the instructions before use and DO NOT mix up the tube caps or you’ll only get to use the glue once.

This Tank Bond Clear Epoxy is very easy to use. Just squeeze a little, evenly and spread on the desired surfaces. We applied this on a few pools that we use for our outdoor animals and it worked fantastic.

Our animals use these pools daily, so when they developed a crack it was in important situation. The tank bond dried very quickly, almost completely set within five minutes. Once I noticed the epoxy was set, I was amazed to see that it actually did dry clear and without a yellow tint to it, as other products have that I have used in the past.

I let the Tank Bond sit for about 6 hours before I refilled the pools with water. We have had no issues with leaks, or cracks, where the clear epoxy was applied. With temps in the 80’s recently, I did not notice any issues with the epoxy losing stability or quality.

I am very impressed with the versatility of what this tank bond clear epoxy can be used for.

I’ve been using this product for years. I’ve used it to join mouldings together, repaired damaged 90 year old base boards. I fixed cabinets, filled holes, repaired hardwood floors and fixed wood rot on fascia boards.

I’ve never been let down. I always keep a spare tube in my tool box.

A VERY good product, extremely strong. I had to repair an antique rocking chair and the arm and edge of the seat broke off and it was literally felt stronger than the original. Even with areas where there was oak missing, it filled in the gap and was strong.

This glue/epoxee is exactly what I needed to do the job. It strongly and tightly bonds together even the heaviest wood, and almost immediately! It is sure to last a lifetime! I definitely recommend this product, regardless of how heavy or light the project is!.

This works great! I used it to glue rhinestones to brass buttons on a jean jacket. It dried clear and so far it is wearing like iron. I liked the fact that you squeeze out what you need as you work. It dries very fast.

I did work on a porcelain figure with it as well. That didn’t work as well but mostly due to my impatience. I didn’t hold on as long as I should have to make sure it was permanently set. One thing to note.

I got it on my fingers (alot) and it rubs off with some dish soap.

Got this product to fill the holes in my plastic snow globe tumblers. The product sealed nicely, the only reason I’m giving this 4 stars is when you go to stop using the product it keeps coming out. Found out from you tube videos you have to pull back on the release and create a small air pocket to not allow anymore to come out.

This stuff smells just like chemicals. Took a while to get the smell to go away, gave me a headache. I’ve used resin before and this stuff is ridiculous. It comes out faster on one side so you don’t get a even mixture.

It didn’t even harden all of the way!.

I have tried this epoxy a few times only because its the only epoxy in the store. It never works. rubber , wood, plastic, laminate. it doesn’t bond good to anything long term. holds for a few days at most.

Its ok as filler but does not bond well.

I received the two. 85 oz. of quick setting epoxy. I mixed equal amounts of epoxy and they did not set up in several hours. They did set up nice and hard by the next day. I have been thinking about sending them back, actually I can’t use this stuff.

It is probably a good value if it did what you advertise and is of good quality if you can let it set for many hours.

I used this to fix a radiator. I hit a deer and mine was busted at the bottom below the drain. I fixed the break with JB weld Tank and Plastic repair. Then after it set up, I pulled the drain plug out and used this to fill on the crack from the inside.

Its been two weeks and its still not leaking!.

then I decided to read some of the other reviews, and all was great! Most complained-about items: 1) There is no syringe cap – WRONG! There is a black cap that’s part of the squeeze mechanism. If you see it, it has been cut and hanging on with tabs.

In fact, you’ll see it in the product photo, right in the middle of the black. 2) Curing time is 24 hours – WRONG! IF, you stir the two compounds for about 30 seconds, you’ll get an extremely hard bond.

My first 2 were junk because I didn’t mix them longer than 10 seconds. You can also put micapowder in it and have your epoxy match your surface, which is what I’ve done on several occasions now.

If you want a product that sets so fast you can’t get it to your work this is it. I’m a gunsmith and work with adhesives all the time but this one wasn’t worth the cost or my time. There are many, many reasons for a fast setting epoxy but you have to have enough time to apply it to the work and then position it so it’s in the place you desire.

This epoxy was dispensed, quickly mixed and the article to glue picked up and then the stick to spread was placed into the epoxy. The stick picked up a semi-hardened glob that was unspredible. Also the 1 oz size I wrong as well.

It was half of that easily. Save your time and money on this one.

Price was very affordable which convinced me to give it a try. Got it back to the work shop. and that’s when the troubles began. Opening the tube was a pain. Cap wouldn’t snap back on. Even though I wasn’t squeezing the tube, the plunger, etc.

The product continually oozed from the tube creating a mess on my work bench, my hands, the item I was trying to fix. So, not worth it. Very frustrated.

I can recommend the product. The only reason why I didnt give it five stars was because youll be surprised how little adhesive you actually get.

Great quality epoxy glue. Make sure to thoroughly mix the two parts, especially from the outer perimeter and the inside. Clamping or holding the joint and bonding area solid, tight and rigid is essential.

The surfaces to be bonded must be super clean and it’s best to score the surface faces for a good bond.

The product works great. The price keeps going up on them. They used to be a good deal now they are the same as I could normally get them in the stores.

This product is incredible! Can fix anything or bonds diferrent type of products! I highly recomend it. Plus can last forever!

I need something flexible and strong to fix flaws/damage in a custom molded expanding polyurethane foam seat insert for an open wheel race car. I bought this product to experiment on some test pieces of molded foam, and it works very well.

Adhesion to the foam exceeds the foam’s strength, flexibility and toughness is outstanding, and it can be applied to coarse weave fabric to bridge gaps and reinforce thin areas. It’s a little too viscous for some applications, but manageable.

The only other drawback is that gaffer or duct tape will not adhere well to the cured product (a racing seat insert is normally covered with gaffer tape as a final covering). This can be solved however, by applying the gaffer tape to a thin layer of the epoxy while still wet, which gives good adhesion once cured.

Hopefully, this product will be back in stock by the time we have cooler weather (for longer working time), when I plan to do the actual repairs.

I have used this on several products, including end grain cutting boards. Glue up is easy and can be done in thin layers with a putty knife. I’ve also done furniture and the joints hold up well. Mixes well with fillers.

While the 1:1 mixing is fairly simple for small repairs, it is hard to meter out in the 1-2 ounce quantity, as others have pointed out. It would be great if JD could supply a small cylindrical marked measuring cup so we could be more exact on this stuff.

I think this stuff is too thick for pumps.

I use flexible epoxies for ski construction and repair. In the past I’ve used 3M DP105, West G-Flex, and LocTite flexible marine epoxy. After working on 3 pair of skis with FlexEpox I prefer it to all the others.

The only drawback is the very dark color, but this can be managed. I do not like the mixing system for the 8oz kit. The tubs are far too large to be useful. Ski repair uses very small quantities of epoxy and mixing enough for accuracy with this product causes quite a bit of waste.

I would pay extra for this product if it came with a mixing nozzle type system like the 3M gun — my usual trick of drawing from each bottle with a separate syringe, then mixing in a paper cup or on a disposable surface does not work well because the hardener is too thick to suck up with a syringe.

Best thing I’ve come up with so far is to mix by *weight* using a paper cup and a jeweler’s scale, but if you try this be aware the weight ratio is 1. 2:1, not 1:1 like the volume would be.

I have used all makes of epoxy resin adhesive for more years than I would admit to, with verifying degrees of success. This type of two part mix it your self is nothing new, however the effectiveness and range of different materials the Gorilla ER will work with is new and very good.

In my opinion this is the best 2 part on the market at present. But a few things to remember, only mix what you need and can physically apply in any one go, it will start to set very quickly. Do mix very thoroughly, I use my vast collection of Starbucks green coffee lid stoppers, and clamp/put weight on parts, the bond is not as fast as the directions say.

The ER is very clear and not highly noticeable at edges when set, again don’t over apply, with this ER you don’t need to. Another good point is the lack of surface preparation required, it bonds firmly to smooth surfaces with out the need to scuff first.

It’s also water “resistant”, I have used it on external gland threads, metal and plastic, this means the whole fitting won’t turn during final assembly and will never leak. Finally keep the one piece cap on the end of the applicator when not in use, this end area does get messy, keep it clean and closed.

Great product which is easy to use. A semi opaque freezer drawer front cracked when removing for defrosting. Checked the tolerances of the product and it was okay to use at most temperatures. A really straightforward application, 10 minutes of pressure, and it’s as good as new.

Not to mention saving £28 on a replacement part Used very little product so resealed ready for other breakages. Wide range of applications and value for money. Recommended.

I bought this adhesive for the specific purpose of joining two pieces of metal together with the idea of making an oil filter tool. I noticed after mixing the two part epoxy together it was quite aquious so I attached the two parts together with a small amount of the epoxy and allowed it to dry.

Afterwards I simply applied more coats to deepen the resin layer and so making it even stronger. It dries very clear and rock hard! It seems suitable for small gap filling and being farely aquious straight after mixing it’s very easy to apply to the job.

I’ve attached a 10mm steel bar to a cut down 27mm impact socket. A small weld would be more suitable but for home made purposes and not having a welder, this epoxy has worked a treat! Just remember though, it is pretty aquious(runny), so for vertical applications you may need to reapply further layers to build the required thickness if a thicker layer is needed.

Also, waiting a short time proved useful to lessen the slump rate after application (allowing it to dry slightly). It seems to be a great glue and extremely strong!.

Needed a product that would secure a metal hinge to a mirrored bathroom cabinet (the hinge has previously been glued as part of the manufacturing process). Gave Gorilla epoxy glue a go and clamped the huge for a day or so to ensure tight adhesion.

Door to cabinet has been back on a couple of weeks now and it feels very secure. Very happy.

Excellent consistency and high bond strength. Sets in about 5 minutes as stated but gives the operator plenty of working time. I use with other cements/sealants and have found this epoxy particularly inert, which is a bonus.

Good reliable syringe dispenser.
