Ok I have a BBR stage motor not sure what stage it was my first bike bought from and old gentlemen for a steal already built on the best frame I’ve found for mororiybikes I have a pair of them now. ok my bullet train one thing my cilinder turned gold when it got hot have you had anyone else say this I have the proff still that way it is the beat perfect way to motorize a bike the clutch and starting options make it all I want just cannot seem to get a CDI for 1momth or more and what with these CDI s tearing up Ive bought I think 8 and I down now for that reason that’s the only reacuring prob really I have no real complaints at all just that I love my motors and bikes but the CDI issue needs addressing asap yeah love my bikes I’m about to finance one of y’all’s in frame gas tank bikes like today possibly think that’s all I got service good shipping well it’s shipping maybe early or late never been damaged and I’ve bought good CDIs y’all’s the beat ones 40$ I payed it lasted 2rides god my witness and maybe a month or two longest I’ve gotten tell me something on that cilinder issue wierd I say maybe some copper was in the mix that’s the type color it turned I watched it happen first ride out that’s all I got.

My order was handled well. I was told up front the order was out of stock. I was given a time it would ship which was good. Right on time ! However I have not started my build because 2 orders have not shipped to BikeBerry.

I bought this engine for a go kart I worked on in November of 2020. It was the cheapest option I could find with electric start. After purchasing on Amazon, it arrived within a week and was crazy big for what I needed, I definitely underestimated the power I was getting myself into.

Either way, I bought it used, and when I opened it, it had all the stickers, paint was perfect, no dents, it was just all around immaculate. I can tell their team really takes pride in their work and really tries to make their products A++ for the customer.

2 months of sitting and I filled her up, 3 pulls to start. But this is because gas needed to go through the system! Not, because it’s not a good engine. I’ll cut to the chase and say that right now in 2021 of May the go kart is sitting in the driveway ready to be driven! The engine is reliable and never once gave me a problem, I would recommend this engine to anyone looking to not spend the big bucks.

I was replacing a 16HP V- twin engine on a log splitter. I had my doubts with the single cylinder replacement, figuring I would have to lower the kick down pressure setting on the two stage pump. I didn’t have to change anything.

The engine performed perfect. I received the engine with a dented fuel tank from shipping. Tool-Max sent out a new tank without any problem.

I have owned mine for almost 5 years, but just started using it in the last month. I’m temporarily using it to replace the trusty but tired old Kohler K181 in a 1971 John Deere 110 lawn & garden tractor.

To make it fit without modifying the tractor chassis, I had to use square steel tubing to raise the engine about an inch, and also had to make an extension to raise the end of the PTO clutch lever about 3 inches.

I can’t use the hood or front grill and frame without mods, so that’s why it’s just a temporary engine. Starting: It always starts quickly, but like another reviewer stated, it has to be choked every time, even when fully warmed up.

Power: Going from 8 HP to 16 is a shock to begin with, but this thing is a torque monster at just about any speed above an idle. The governor is very stable, and works quickly. It is hard to kill this engine, and it throws that heavy old Deere around like it’s a stamped sheet metal lightweight.

That’s another reason I want to replace it – the tractor’s drive system probably wasn’t built for this much power. Fuel economy: Pretty good, considering the weight of the tractor and the size of the engine.

Durability: Too early to tell. I did get some rust in the fuel tank because I forgot and left it with E-10 in it for several months. Fortunately I ran the carb dry before shutting it down. I’m using the original Deere tank anyway.

Smoothness and quietness: Apparently, as shown in the parts list, it doesn’t use a balance shaft, and it does seem to vibrate a fair amount. Noise-wise, it’s fair – noisier than most twins, but about average for big singles.

Neither of those things bother me. I just use ear plugs, and accept the fact that my kiester might tingle some after a couple of hours of mowing. My plan is to use it with a belt-driven generator head, and it should have no trouble handling that job.

I think it would also make a great kart engine. I would highly recommend it.

I’m an industrial designer and I spend a lot of time looking at the way things are made. The mechanical bits on this wheel are SOLID. The wheel itself is double-walled and made of relatively thick steel and the handlebar accessories (including all the switches and brake levers) are suitably well made.

There are a couple questionable plastic pieces here and there in non-critical locations which, given the apparent quality of everything else, don’t feel like they belong. The instruction manual is pretty straightforward as well.

This is not a normal bike wheel; it is as wide as indicated in the description of the item. Other reviews have been unfairly critical because the wheel doesn’t fit into the forks on whatever bike they wanted to electrify.

If you don’t have a fat bike fork, this wheel will not fit- it’s not even close. I’ll update the review once I get some mileage on the motor. If there’s no update here, assume everything went really well.

I installed this on an eahora x 7 ebike. The bike was working pretty good, but was lacking enough power to pull up steep hills. I bought this kit to put on the front wheel. The motor is powerful and amazing.

With both motors I can go up any hill with just electric power only. I’ve gone 25 miles on a charge on steep dirt trails. I’m sure you could go much further on pavement or more level terrain. I would recommend using the torque arms that go on the axles.

I’m using the 48 v 13a UPP battery that seems pretty good so far.

We bought this to convert an off-road scooter into electric so we weren’t limited on 95% downhill terrain. My husband is pretty educated with road bikes assembly and parts, but this was a little different and he ended up having to take the wheel and tire into a bike shop because it wouldn’t seem to fit although our tire was within the specs.

The bike shop managed to make it work and recommended we tape the wheel as well. Getting to back onto the scooter was a bit of a hassle too and involved some major adjustments to the brakes and needing a second person to get the wheel onto the forks (not to mention we put it on backwards the first time.

make sure the cords are coming out of the RIGHT side of the wheel). But now with everything assembled, it works great and we just ordered a second one for our other scooter. I purchased a 36V 12. 5ah battery off eBay and it works great for both of us (hubby is just under 150 lbs so we’re not super heavy) although on really steep hills, it did struggle a bit, but held a consistent speed on flat ground and lasted a really long time while we were trying to drain it (going to guess around 18 miles).

Overall very pleased.

I bought this kit to replace my old 500Watt brushed hub-motor on my Giant Revive. I have my wife’s revive sitting next to/behind mine (in the uploaded picture) and you can see the Hub-Motor is about the same size.

The rim was “True” out of the box and the wheel fits well, I had to open my front fork a little over 6 Millimeters to seat the wheel get the anti-spin guides in place. I wish the kit came with some rim tape for the spoke heads.

Before using this wheel make sure you invest in a roll of heavy duty wheel/rim tape, it ships with no tape at all. The spokes are a little sharp and will push through most thin rubber tape (I learned this the hard way.

Flat after about three miles of riding). While the wheel is much lighter than my old 500 watt, it is about the same size and has about the same and maybe a little more power. I am a 6’2″ 330lb guy and this wheel pulls me nicely at about (you need to pedal to start up unlike a brushed motor) 17mph without pedaling.

And with pedaling, I can easily maintain a 20-23mph ride around Sterling and down the W&OD trail outside of DC. I have an 80psi Kevlar-Ribbed tire and inflating to the full 80psi did not cause any issues with the rim or it’s true.

The Paperwork that comes with the ebike kit says it is manufactured by CNEBikes in Changzhou city ,Jiangsu ,China. I contacted the vendor “AWInternational” to see if they sold a Pedal Sensor or the advanced computer.

They do not, they are strictly a reseller of products and not experienced e-bike products and have no way of contacting the manufacturer (you will have to do that on your own if you want anything besides the basic 2016 kit)Aside from the reseller, I am very happy with the kit, the product it would be better with a pedal assist sensor (this is in the 2017 kits from CNEBikes).

I purchased this for bigger hills, and for more torque a low speed. It has all that. There is no display to see the inner workings of this ehub motor. I do like to know technical information, I would rather read.

Even so, I do not want to be looking at a display while riding in the woods. The inner rim width is 30mm. I had to find a tire 60mm-75mm width recommended in Schwalbe tires desciption about rims and tires.

This translates to 2. 4 inch tires for me, and that is exactly what I wanted. The hub is sturdy and that is what I want for a woods ebike.

Can’t get it to work right. Keeps cutting my tires off. Idle will not let clutch loose. ( ? ) Assembled correctly. Still not working right.

I made the sweetest 20 inch 65′ sting ray lowrider bike but I really couldn’t pedal it being a 42 year young man, so I decided to get the kit and with a little adjustment to the motor mount a little paint to the friction box and motor cover I don’t have to pedal.

After reading all the horror stories about broken fasteners, I got some good threaded rod for studding and some chromed fasteners. If you put a nut on a stud you are not constantly screwing into aluminum, if nut or stud strips, pull stud & cut another to replace.

THIS IS A PRETTY GOOD KIT, MOST HARDWARE IS GOOD 8. 8! I had been studying china girls for a few years prior, as it turned out the issue I had was some. 001-. 002 pits in cylinder, WHICH BIKE BERRY MADE GOOD & SENT ME A REPLACEMENT! THANK YOU 4 STANDING BEHIND YOUR’RE PRODUCT! I have this motor completely apart, for inspection, case matching, polishing, fine tuning, crank balancing.

HOW CAN U NOT LUV THESE LITTLE MOTORS? I have seen them go thru a lot (youtube), & most do fine! THE CLUTCH TOOL, AND DOUBLE PLUG SOCKET WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN SEPARATING THE CASES! Could not have done it without these tools! I love the side ports improvement.

Only giving 4 stars because i see on many other bike forums and review sites that bikeberry is hit and miss. Sometimes it will take them weeks to ship and won’t refund your order, customers receive their kit with parts broken or missing, or the engine comes damaged and support is very unhelpful if they even get a live person at all.

However this was not my experience. My engine kit came in about 5 days with all parts included and also the correct engine kit and the color I ordered. My only complaint is that phone support kept letting my calls go to voicemail and that the muffler came as silver and not black and the welds on the muffler at the exhaust port connection part we’re rough and seemed bent.

Luckily I already have many spare parts, including a black muffler from my previous engine, so that was no big deal.

I bought this engine to replace the engine on one of my old 24″ front-tine tillers. After removing the old engine, it took four bolts to attach this engine to the existing holes on the frame. It is a completely self-contained unit, with the fuel tank integrated into the unit.

The only external connection is what you attach to the output shaft, usually a pulley with a belt. The hardest part was getting the pulley off the old engine. Put in gas and oil, and it started right up and purred as quietly as any engine I’ve ever used.

It provides plenty of power, even at part throttle, to till over six inches deep without ever lugging or stumbling. I tilled for two hours, and used less than a quarter of a tank! This engine is rated at 6.

5 HP, while the old one was 5 HP, yet this one used less than half the fuel of the old one! The tiller also did not buck and jump like it used to with the old engine. My only two complaints with this engine are the location of the on/off switch and the low oil shutoff.

When mounted on a standard tiller, the switch will be on the very front of the unit. I can deal with the throttle location and actuation, but will be putting a remote kill switch on this engine soon.

The oil sensor is also on the very front of the engine when mounted, so if tilling up even a slight incline, it will tell the unit it is low on oil and shut off. Unless you overfill the oil, there is no immediate solution to this shortcoming other than to disconnect the sensor, which would void the warranty and put the engine at risk if it did happen to be low on oil.

Perhaps Predator will address this in a future update to this engine. I don’t care for the orientation of the pull rope. You have to pull directly forward from the front if this is mounted on a tiller.

I think a better way would be to rotate the cowl 180 degrees, so you are pulling backward and up on the rope. I will likely make this change myself, for my own convenience. Perhaps if mounted on another piece of equipment, the current arrangement would make more sense, but not on a standard tiller.

For the price, this is an outstanding engine. Less than a quarter the price of replacing the tiller(s), even the cheapest of tillers! More power than required, but still uses less fuel. If this engine lasts as well as it runs, it is a bargain indeed.

99 out of 100 stars. * Re-powered a 30 year old MD log splitter. 95% easy. * Engine mounting bolt pattern identical to original B&S. Bolted right up onto the splitter mounting. * Shaft diameter same as original.

Original LoveJoy reused. Had to shorten the HF shaft by one inch. * Power take off bracket bolt pattern identical to original. Original Bracket used. * Had to purchase four hard to find 5/16 x 24 x 1 fine bolts to mount the take off bracket to the engine.

Wasted one hour in ACE trying to find the proper bolts. Tried 20 types of US and Metric. Finally found the page hidden in the manual which showed they were fine thread in teenie tiny print. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHOWN IN THE “SPECIFICATIONS” TABLE IN THE ENGINE MANUAL.

Thank heavens Ace had a pull-out tray with 5/16 fine in the Grade 8 boxes. One star out of 100 removed for this printed manual “mistake” * The only major difference is the starter rope pull on the original B&S was on the left side, and it’s on the right side of the HF.

Now you have to pull it over the I-beam, but still starts on the first pull. * Switch the two Orange oil filler caps so the one with the oil level indicator dip stick is on the open side, AND YOU’RE GOOD TO GO !.

We got this installed and was all happy heading out to the bike trail, as the sound was just as expected and it really got the attention of people we rode by. But the muffler is not quite as happy of a story.

Having carefully gotten the decals placed just right, this thing just would not stay on. We kept having to stop and go back and get it and put it on – it was very interrupting of pleasant time. We finally got fed up with the interruption.

Having no way to secure the muffler better, we just stuck it in a bag and went on about our day. At least the cards part does work as claimed.

We bought this product as a birthday present for a 4 year old, to go along with his brand new bike he received from his grandparents. When he had a smaller bicycle he was always making motorcycle sounds and telling us it was his motorcycle.

He LOVES riding his new “motorcycle” which now makes the sounds for him. This is a great accessory that works perfectly.

Got this for my son for his birthday. He now lives to ride his bike with the Turbospoke noise maker. He now says his bike sounds like my motorcycle. Great product, easy to install in minutes.
