20 Best Emergency Food Supply Kit (2023 Updated)

I’ve used the 4-week survival food kits for quite a few years because of health limitations, not because natural disasters or man made disasters. What I have found is that having the 4-week survival food kits because of needs due to health have meant when there are man made or natural disasters, I’ve never worried or been concerned about having enough food to make it through.

I would definitely recommend the 4-week survival food kits. The kits are very heavily carb laden, so if someone is allergic to starch or has problems with carbs, that needs to be taken into consideration.

The kits can be used in smaller amounts to prevent or control allergic reactions such as asthma. Supplemented with the vegetable, fruit and meat protein foods the 4-week survival kits turn all foods from only being survival fare to being survival sumptuous fare.

All the foods in the 4-week survival kits are very very good when made per the printed directions, but I’ve found other ways to prepare use them besides the directions on the packages. One’s imagination is the limit of usefulness of the foods supplied by 4Patriots.

Their directions for preparation are a wonderful boon, and thanks goes to them for their directions. The directions not only make very fine entrees, but they also generate ideas of other ways to use a product.

I’ve never been disappointed.

Currently I live in Florida. Many times through hurricanes I would be with out power for a week or more. Just before a hurricane gets here Gas stations run out of gas and grocery store shelves are bare.

People panic! I have always kept enough gas for the generator and food stock on the shelves for a week or more. These kits to me are priceless. They take up less room than canned goods. I am going to retire in the mountains in Tennessee.

I now have over 2 months of 4 Patriots survival products to take with me. If you don’t prepare to take care of yourselves don’t expect those that did to take care of you!.

I ordered 1 one month supply. Checked out the contents, found them well packed and instructions quite useful. I have NOT used any of them, as for me, they’re for SHTF situation, though they may go camping with me this year.

They come nicely contained in a tough bin, stackable and nondescript. I have since ordered three more. The peace of mind alone has been worth it, and I plan to buy at least a few more. Useful pamphlets arrive with each shipment with suggestions of other things you need to obtain or secure for such times.

Again, the peace of mind is so valuable to me. I will be purchasing more, and other products, as well. You’ll find the variety of foods great. Do it, and you’ll feel more secure. Best to all, -colleen.

Arrived with one of the packets broken open inside the bucket container. I see on other reviews where this is an ongoing problem with this product. As I cleaned up the powder all over the other packets it did smell good (chicken soup).

I have not tried the product as it’s the idea to save it for emergencies. Ended up rewrapping the open packet in a food saver bag to hopefully extend the freshness.

I have not opened it, but it will be there when needed. I am writing this review because I made the mistake of not carefully reading ingredients, as a vegetarian I thought I could eat some of the meals.

There is rendered chicken fat (look up the meaning) in at least 5 different entrees, including the mashed potatoes. I was pretty surprised, but I know it is for emergency and 98% of my family won’t care but just wanted to share that information.

This would be a good starter kit for someone to invest in. I actually bought this as a gift for friends of ours to jump start their reserve food supplies. We have talked to them about the 4Patriots survival foods and shown them what we have stored.

We have several 4 week kits along with several 72 hour kits and recently purchased a 3 month kit which paired with canned and other dry goods gives us well over a year’s supply of food. It can be daunting to try and build a reserve food supply quickly so we have assembled ours over the last 2 years buying more kits as our funds allowed.

The smaller 2 week kit is a good way to start off with and stores in a smaller tote which is easily stored in a closet or your pantry. It’s also wise to invest in water filters (I have several) so that you have clean water to the foods in your survival kit.

The 2-Week Survival Food Kit is a well packaged product and will store very well until your in a crisis situation and need to break it out. The only odd item that doesn’t seem very well thought out but sounds really good is the Dinner Bell Broccoli Bake.

For a Survival food item to use in a crisis situation having an item that requires an oven and to be “baked” for 30 minutes does not seem very convenient or useful. If you have ever been in a crisis or survival situation that necessitated you eat an MRE to survive I am sure you did not have time to look for a stove let alone time to prep and bake anything.

As i said in the title it seems like a good product with good packaging but spend your hard earned money wisely when you a prepping for a survival situation.

It’s a win win. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. The food is very good and it makes you feel a sense of security knowing that you have some of this product on hand. And if you ever don’t need the food in a survival setting you can eat it little by little over the next two and a half decades.

Well worth the money. Also, their customer service is GREAT! One of the containers was damaged during shipping. Within 1 week a replacement was sent out no questions asked. Nice to see a company stand behind their product.

Have not eaten any of my order—my theory is if there’s a disaster, I am thankful there will be food for my family and I to eat. I have Celiac disease and was having a problem finding gluten-free options anywhere! A friend told me My Patriot Supply had g-f options and I was so happy to be able to find food I would be able to eat without getting sick! The shipment was delivered quickly and there was no issue with the contents all intact and correct! I honestly hope to never need these items, but I am very confident that we will not go hungry! In comparing the My Patriot Supply items and other similar vendors, this company seems to provide a better “bang for the buck”. I have not used any of the items as yet. With that 25-year shelf life, it doesn’t seem the right time to use them.

But this brings a feeling of safety and satisfaction to know that we have long term food supplies if the time comes that they are needed. I also purchase these items to give as Christmas gifts to our children and their families.

They have always been grateful to add them to their storage.

FIRST. the arrival of this was extremely quick. SECOND. I was very surprised at what was inside of it. The quantity was great and better than expected. I so want to just try one item in here but yet don’t want to waste it.

I have not tried any of the meals in this bucket yet. I am saving it for when things go south. Having said that, I believe that having protein packed, high calorie, long shelf life buckets like this is essential to any prepping strategy.

Most importantly, WATER!!! These meals need water to reconstitute, and you will die from dehydration way faster than from lack of food. So get this bucket, perhaps several just to be safe, and then store hundreds of gallons of water.

No joke. When the internet goes down, or electricity goes out, or your well runs dry because the guy who owns 10 acres next to you has pumped your aquifer dry to irrigate his marijuana fields (yup, happening here in Oregon) you will need water.

Food, bullets and guns, warmth all run second and third fiddle to water. get yourself some of the stackable water containers from Survival Frog. 3. 5 gallons each which is a manageable weight to use and they are tough and stack nicely for easy storage.

We always take a bucket or two when we travel, plus a large water source! As my wife is a nurse, we also travel with a significant med kit, which we have used several times over the years. The Wise food is quite palatable, especially if you give the water about 10 to 20 minutes extra to absorb entirely.

you may heat up ANY portion of the food! Extremely convenient and delicious! All the men and women who hunt/work outdoors/travel in the mountains also utilize the Seychelle filtered water bottles on an everyday basis.

The men replace their bottle every 6 to 8 months, where most of the women replace every 12 to 14 months due to usage parameters. These bottles can easily fill the freeze-dried meal packages and will fit most MOLLE-type large/extra large bottle holders.

Got it last week. Having some trouble trying to get the lid open (adult proof, I’m sure) lol And got my my smaller order of freeze dried. Haven’t tried any of the food yet but, am looking forward to trying one of them.

Your choices for people who don’t eat meat are meager at best. Also address meal packs for people who are lactose intolerant. When you pull meat from the menu the first choice of companies seems to be loading every meal with cheese.

That doesn’t always work for people, definitely not for us. I’d rather go back to eating flesh than blow out every ounce of food that I eat and more because my body can’t process dairy. You’re better off not eating at all than you are by making yourself sick ingesting something that depletes every bit of energy from your body.

I’ve bought from Wise foods before and was very satisfied with the quality of packaging. The taste and quality of the food was great also. You would be surprised and your family would be too. I do recommend Wise Foods for anyone wanting to buy quality emergency food supplies.

A spectacular price on this Wise Food Emergency Supply. My only complaint was the shipping boxes. They were very flimsy and poorly taped. They should have been a heavier grade box. However, hats off to shipper, no damage to Wise packaging.

Bought this product for long term storage so kind of hard to rate quality. Shipped from wise foods their latest version of this product. (Lower sodium levels) Fast shipping, good price, no problems at all! Will purchase from again.

My advice to someone considering this product is don’t think about it but do it! 4Patriots always have deals so don’t sell yourself short! For someone living on a budget 4Patriots individual pouches to sample or their staple( IMO) the 72 hour food kit.

Every so often, 4Patriots will sell their 72 hour kits for the cost of shipping! It’s a no brainer. we’ll at least for me it was and still is! Of course, if an individual or family is financially well off, by all means purchase the 3 month supply and try it out! Like I mentioned in the beginning, just do it, for it is an investment in the event of an emergency! Also, 4Patriots have payment plans which can help out those on a budget.

I for one have a lot on my financial plate so I cannot take advantage of the payment plans, but when a deal pops up for a 72 hour food kit I usually jump on it! These kits all add up and eventually an individual will have a full month, which can turn into a 3 month, which can turn into a full year! Listen, it sounds impossible but if one is careful with their spending, sacrifice a vacation for one year and experiment into saving you and your families life! Nobody knows when a crisis will erupt and say it was impossible to go to the grocery store for a few days or weeks.

I kept seeing ads for the 3 month supply with the offer of the sun kettle cooker as a free bonus gift. After talking it over with husband, we decided to buy 2. I attempted to order online using the payment plan, but it did not give the option, so I called.

The woman was nice, but explained that I would have to order them separately to do the payment plan, and she gave me a special link to use for an additional discount. I decided to just pay up front for everything and order both 3 month kits together with all the bonuses.

I was super excited, and waited. There were several delays, which I was understanding of, and felt the communication regarding the delays was good. We FINALLY received our order after several months.

One of the packages in one of the 4 totes had opened and gotten powder all over everything. I called to inform them of it. I assumed they would just send a replacement, but the representative told me I would have to wait for a call back from a supervisor or something.

I am not easy to reach by phone with my work schedule, but she informed me they would try to call once, and if I didn’t answer, I would have to call back. I didn’t have time to play phone tag, so I just let it go.

I also mentioned that I had not received our bonus gifts of the $99 valued sun kettles, and I didn’t see any reference to them on the invoice. Instead it referenced a multitool. She explained that the bonus gifts often arrive separately, but also that we weren’t getting the sun kettles.

She tried to convince me that I didn’t order the offer that included them, but I know I did, because that was SPECIFICALLLY why I ordered and why I ordered TWO kits. Then she said they were all out of them and didn’t have any to offer.

I was very disappointed, as I had just spent a LOT of money on this. I’m not confrontational and tend to give the benefit of the doubt, so I just let it go. I did get the multitools, but these could not have been valued very high.

Not even close to the sun kettle! Then when I got around to opening the tubs and going through the food, I was extremely disappointed to realize that 16 of the packages were just a sugary beverage akin to kool-aid, that was included in the calories.

Very few of the packages were actually the bragged upon recipes of actual meals. A large portion was just plain rice. A lot of bags of pancake mix, some oatmeal, a few dessert items, and dried milk.

Very few items that seemed to have any real nutritional value. I mean yeah, it might fill your tummy, but I can’t imagine that there would be enough nutrition to keep you strong and energized. It really was the sugar drinks that made me feel stupid, like I had just spent $1300, on what??? Kool-aid and rice???? Just very disappointing.

I still see the ads for the 3 month kits with the sun kettles, and they kept sending me emails to sell me more stuff, but I’m still bitter over not getting what I ordered to begin with, and I wouldn’t trust them to order anything else.

I like to patronize and be loyal to family businesses with a solid mission and I really wanted to love this one, but I just expected more and was left very disappointed. I probably could have spent more time trying to get a resolution, but I just didn’t have time to deal with it any more than i already had.

I value my time too much.

I highly recommend this 72-hour kit for an emergency bag. I have had an emergency bag prepared for years with everything I needed in it except for the most important thing—food. I couldn’t figure how to keep food in it without having to rotate the selected items on a regular basis because of expiration dates.

When you have seven kits with food to keep rotating, that becomes a real problem. Thanks to this kit from 4Patriots, that problem is now solved. There are three food pouches inside that have a 25 year expiration date.

I removed them from the zip bag they came in and placed them unopened in gallon zip-loc bags to keep them from being punctured inside my emergency bag. Included in the 72-hour kit are 8 servings of oatmeal, 4 servings of macaroni and cheese and 4 servings of the rice dinner.

I can now add a can of tuna fish for the rice dinner and a box of raisins for the oatmeal to my pack, giving me much less to rotate. When an emergency arises, I can use only what I need each day, storing the remainder in the gallon zip-loc bag.

I am now completely packed for a short term emergency! Thank you 4Patriots!.

I have a family of 3. Although all of the food kits are designed to be for 1 individual, I ended up just buying a 3-month supply and figured we’d split it, if we even need to use these items at some point in the next 25 years.

I also purchased the full cooking kit which comes with a 30-day supply of food as well, so we should be ok with food for a while. Supplemented with canned goods and dry items, we’re set for quite some time.

I also purchased the medical kit, fire starting materials, water treatment tablets, some miscellaneous tools and general survival gear. I must say, I am very satisfied overall with the purchase. I have not opened the buckets to sample the food, and I don’t really think there’s a need to do that honestly.

I’ve seen some complaints on here from people about the overall taste of the food being mediocre or people not liking it at all, with a lot of people really enjoying it. The bottom line in my opinion is this: it’s survival food to get you through an emergency, disaster, etc.

It’s heavy calories in a freeze-dried package. I’m not sure where the disconnect is, or what people are expecting with how it should be or how it should taste when these products are designed to be an insurance policy for emergencies so that you don’t starve to death.

I don’t understand people complaining that they paid all this money, and don’t particularly care for the taste or just unreasonable complaints in general. This kind of food isn’t designed to be a TV dinner or something you grab from the pantry because you’re too lazy to make a meal for yourself or pickup the phone and call for takeout.

It would be like spending $500 for a first aid kit and then opening it up to try out all the bandaids to make sure they stick, and then complain about not having enough bandaids. I don’t get it. I guarantee that if there was an emergency, and you HAD to use these food items, you’d be eating far better than the people who didn’t take out this kind of insurance policy.

It would probably be extremely tasty comparing to the alternative – which is starving to death. I am however giving 4 stars – simply because I have not opened any of the food to test it (again, I don’t have a need to do that).

and also I’m taking off the star because the packing/shipping was not great. All said and done, I got like 5 different boxes in, and 3 of them had a solitary strip of tape across the box so these 3 boxes opened up during transport.

Also, the boxes were incredibly cheap and flimsy for such heavy items. But the shipping quality is my only real complaint. Overall, I think My Patriot Supply is a great company, great business model, and I got everything I ordered, within the timeframe they promised.

I purchased the 6 month supply of food but havent gone through any of it yet since im saving it for emergency use only but i look forward to the meals they provided. The 5 gallon collapsable water jugs are nice and convenient.

I dont like how slow the water comes out of the tap though. Its annoying but everyone needs to practice patience a bit more anyway so ill get over it at some point lol. The lighter/glass breaker is cool.

I wish the button to activate the torch was at the other end so i can stick it in my surefire “bbq” and light the materials i purchased. Now i need to buy another torch. The fire starter pack i used work for 5-10 minutes then went out.

I was unable to light the rest of it on fire. BUT when it was lit with the fan was running it was cooking my pork chops no problem. I recommend checking out all the products your interested in, adding them to your cart to see how much it all costs, THEN see how much credit you can be approved for.

Thats how i purchased all my items. The amount of interest you pay on top of the credit you are given is totally worth being prapared for an emergency for your self. Get prepared, be safe and support My Patriot Supply.

For a family, this is a great item to store away for an emergency. Snow, Power Outages, etc. , seem to be an issue for many across the Country! The cost is low enough to purchase one a month and in no time you have a decent amount of emergency food! For a couple this should last you a week.

The only issue I see with this is that with the pancake mix, it may not be a great “BUGOUT” supply for survival on the move. The Pancakes require heat and a pan or griddle of some kind. It you are constantly on the move that may not be feasible! BUT, you can use the Pancake mix at home, making room in the thick plastic container, for some protein items such as cans of Chicken, Tuna Fish or Spam.

Which is what I do. PLEASE DO NOT use a heat source such as BBQ’s (Propane or Charcoal), wood burning stoves or open flames (large or small)without a proper chimney, etc. , to heat an enclosed area. As the gaseous fumes can be toxic!.

These are the best deal around for a transportable emergency meal kit. The most variety and yield out there for a low cost. I purchased several for all of my family to put back in cars and pantries. With the eroding supply chain issues, best grab a stack of these.

I am pleased enough with my purchase and I do recommend it as part of an Emergency Food Supply that includes a variety of products. A few of my opinions about this: 1. For an long time storage product, the taste and quality is better than most I have tried.

In extended use situations most foods lose their appeal if used exclusively, so this is one of many products I’ve stored for the sake of taste diversity, including other Augason Farms products. 2. This is probably a one week supply of food for myself and my spouse.

3. A larger component of the package is the macaroni and cheese. The packages state that the macaroni shelf life is 30 years, the cheese (powdered) shelf life is 10 years. 4. The chocolate pudding was not in the package.

I could have returned the whole package and reordered another, but for the amount that was supposed to be in there, I did not consider it worth my time and effort to do so.

I have been living on this almost exclusively for a few years now. You think this would affect my health. Well it has I am more healthier then I have ever been my vitamin and mineral levels are better then they ever have been and each pack of food is more then enough for me to eat for 1 meal.

The only complaint I have is I wish ever bucket included some sort of meat. The dried meat is great so long as you season it as you rehydrate it. As well as adding to their meat selection a dehydrated fish product or even a salmon patty that can be rehydrated and fried.

Otherwise if you want a affordable meal option this is the best emergency food I have found and I have tried several. You want something to keep in your car get a small bucket or your basement a larger bucket for the time when you need it most.

You will be grateful you have it when you need it for that time a emergency is upon you. How many times have you heard of someone stuck in the middle of winter and died in their car from starvation because nobody could get to them, Or a family was found on the verge of death after a tornado hurricane of flooding because they did not have the food they needed.

You have one of these buckets and a way to heat water and you have everything you need to survive for days depending on how you ration your food. A 72hour bucket is plenty to ration for 6 days food if you do it right.

I’m writing this review even before I receive my shipment. I’ve purchased this particular brand before and I’m repurchasing this brand again. I trust Augason Farms for good reason, and their food tastes great! I’ve tasted this food and I am a firm believer in the quality of it.

I haven’t yet opened a bag and been dissapointed. Everything is just as described, fresh, tasty and easy to prepare, just like they describe. I’m writing this review for you. If you want to store food for your family, do so.

I’d recommend Augason Farms. Here is a tip. Store up rice too. You can stretch your food supply of Augason Farms, or which ever supply you choose, by adding rice to your meals. I’ve tried this. Here is an example of what I mean.

In Augason Farms buckets, you have a large selection of premeasured dishes to choose from. Say you have a bag of their cheesy broccoli rice. Prepare this, along with additional rice, on the side. Just add a bit more salt for flavor and your meal is even BIGGER, and easier to stretch across the family.

Just mix in the additional rice to your selected food pouch from Augason Farms. You will have only used one pouch and you will get more meals out of it. I like Augason Farms because their meals are delicious enough to actually add rice to and still enjoy.

I thinkthis is pretty cool. These meals are already pre made, so you don’t have to store each ingredient individually and dig through alllllllll your storage just to put one meal together. It’s incredibly convenient to use Augason Farms meal buckets.

I hope this helps someone. Would I recommend Augason Farms, oh yeah!!! No matter what, no matter where you live, no matter if there is a hurricane, winter storm, or whatever comes your way, be prepared.

We have life insurance, medical, etc. , be smart, realize that even our grandparents always had extra food in their cupboards. Mine did! There is an amazing feeling of assurance, freedom and comfort in having enough food to comfort and keep your family alive, no matter what happens.

Glad my wife and I discovered Nutrient Survival. We have been prepping for years now and freeze dried foods are one of the important food categories for us. We have tried most every freeze dried food product out there and our food preps for long term storage includes products from Mountain House, Wise, 4Patriots, Legacy, Ready Wise, Emergency Essentials, various suppliers of MRE’s along with a few others.

One important ingredient that has always been missing in our freeze dried food preps were nutrients. Freeze dried food all stores and cooks pretty much the same way. Just add water. However, when you look at the labels, Nutrient Survival is in a class of its own.

I had been on the fence on a few different options for emergency food supplies. Everything I had read or tasted, from other suppliers, just didn’t seem appealing, mostly because of taste, nutrition values, price, and reviews.

Then a friend had ordered a 30 day kit and we tried the food. WOW! My mind was made up right then. The food is actually delicious and the nutritional value, which is very important, was second to none.

I ordered two 30 day kits that day. In less than a week, they were at my door. I will be looking to order another 2 kits when I can. Thanks guys!.

Purchased this because of the “newer” variety of flavors an menu items. The taste is great, no complaints in that regard. What concerns me is when you do the math on calories per day. This “90 day kit” only provides 1300 calories a day if you stretch it.

If calculated at a normal 2000 calories per day the number of days drops significantly to only 61 days feeding one person. I understand this is marketing, but its also quite misleading at glance. Just my 2c.

A couple years ago before mountain house rebranded them selfs and changed their meals, they would’ve gotten a 5 stars from me. The breakfast skillet used to be godly when water was added it was very tasteful and packed with calories, and was one of my favorite things to eat now sucks it barely hits 700 calories and it tastes like garbage.

I get the rebranding they did a great job but the quality of food we get now is no where near what it was. I will be switching brands to find the next mountain house. I hate to be so critical but when you have a freezer dried food that was so good to what it is now is very sad.

Only bought the 3 day supply because the larger supplies were not available. This is the best product of its type out there. It tastes the best! We use it for remote camping and our primary emergency supply.

we use Mountain House camping and i use it in my job as an Emergent Services manager, so why not keep some in my wife’s car along with all the rest of her personal survival items. it has great taste and lasts forever, it seems(i have had 30y/o MH and it tasted great)so much better than MRE’s or anything else out there.

i do recommend this to all my coworkers and friends. even my kids and grandkids use it hunting and in their go bags and vehicles.

Three of the meals come in a four servings per package and the oatmeal is eight servings. The instruction on each package says you use the entire contents of each package. When I made the M&C there was enough food for 5 people, basically to much food for one person for one meal.

Is it expected that one person would eat all 4 servings at one sitting? If not, then I would have to put the leftovers into the refrigerator. How do I prepare the 4 packages to last 3 day? How do I split them up to provide three meals a day for three days? How do you calculate that there are 2000+ calories/day? The M&C is 1280 calories, the potato soup is 1080 calories, the oatmeal is 1840 calories, the Rice is 1960 calories.

Granted if you add all the calories and divide them by three you get 2053 calories/day but the packaging does not allow you to prepare and eat 684 calories per meal. I was expecting to use this food in the case of an extreme emergency, where there was no electricity, refrigeration, gas, water, for an extended period of time.

The packaging does not make that easy to do. It appears that the only time this would be useful is if all my food in my pantry, refrigerator, freezer were empty and the grocery stores and restaurants were closed but I still had the means to cook and store leftovers.

I would like the packaged to be only one serving size and then I can make as few or as many as I need without wastage or storage.

The reason I bought this intro kit to your foods was to see the ingredients that are in the food you offer, as I have food reactions to certain ingredients. I’ve tried some of one of the four packs I bought and had a reaction.

Looking at the other three’s ingredients I may have reactions with them as well. So not sure I’ll want to buy anything more from you, unless you have foods like rice and beans, etc, that have no ingredients added to them.

I would think you have experience with others like myself who would like to obtain emergency foods they can tolerate and depend upon when needed. If so please let me know. Before buy this intro kit I was unable to find what ingredients were in the food, but thought I take a chance with the kit.

So, do you list the ingredients anywhere on your site that can inform the buyer about what they’re getting with the food their purchasing? If you do please let me know where on your site I can find this information.

I used these meals while I kayaked the Colorado River at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. They were light weight and easy to pack into small places where packing items in needed to be on the lighter weight side of things.

The oatmeal for breakfast was fantastic but the stew I ordered was not good, as in tasty good. The seasoning for the stew was not to my liking and it was very salty. I am a graduate student that works outside a lot where meals like this are needed for scientific research and will be using the remainder of my order over the next 3 months while we are camping at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

They appear that they will be good, it is mac and cheese, mashed potatoes etc. I do enjoy the amount of food you get per packaged item!.

I have tried most of the survival foods on the market. I love Mountain House the most, overall there is not really a comparison out there. The flavor is amazing, these are good enough to eat anytime not just to get you through when nothing else is available.

I use these for camping, hiking, and hunt trips. Being able to use the package to cook the food with just hot water is key. Also not needing additional seasonings makes these a joy. The wide range of recipes keeps longer trips meal planning easy.

I have been buying Mountain House for camping over the years, and when the indicators last year showed supply chain craziness, I purchased a few kits. Mountain House is the ONLY emergency food supply that does not require measuring and mixing of ingredients, along with 20 minutes or more of cook time.

In a pinch, you can hydrate with room temp water. The food is nutritious, plenty of protein, not loaded with sodium, Other brands – all empty carbs and salt. But, if you have made it this far into the website, you already know all this! Love the stuff, would be really great to see fruits and veggies as sides at some point, when the world gets back to normal.

Where to start? OK, if you only use these for backpacking the only things you need to prepare a excellent meal is a way to boil some water and a spoon, fork, or spork to eat with. No pots and pans to clean up afterwards.

You boil water, tear off the top of the pouch, add the required amount of hot water and ten minutes later you will be shoveling a hot tasty meal in your piehole. A 2 day supply contains 15 servings. They call it breakfast, lunch, and dinner for two people for two days.

The servings are large enough you can easily stretch it out another day or two without going hungry. I am a rather finicky eater. I have tried just about every meal Mountain House makes and I give most every pouch 5+ Stars.

The biscuits and gravy I can only give 4. 5 Stars. Not knocking it. It is as good as you are going to get out of a pouch and I will continue buying it and eating it. It won’t replace homemade biscuits and gravy if given a choice.

But it is going to be up to you whether you want to pack a cast iron skillet and the ingredients to make a batch on the trail or a lightweight pouch that taste pretty darn good as is.

Didnt come with the bonus backpack and TSC doesnt seem to care.

I bought this a month ago & I’m so happy I did. It was on sale at the time so I got my 1st two buckets of emergency food ever. It was half price at that time. I had a question about it though as there is no production date anywhere on the bucket.

After calling the company & speaking to acustomer service representative I was told that the production dates are on the individual packages in the bucket. The representative further told me that this particular bucket was already between 18 & 24 months old when I bought it & was sold to Rural King for $85.

So the bottom line is when you buy it from Rural King it “may not” have that full 25 year shelf life though you are getting it for a much lower cost than purchasing directly from Ready Wise who produces this emergency food.

A little research tells one a lot. I have not actually tried any of the food yet but believe it is fine. When I do I am told buy the manufacturer that it makes no difference if you open the bucket or not the shelf life is in the individual packets, the buckets are just an easy stackable storage container for those packet.

When I do open one I will be doing a serious scrutinization of the packaging. This mainly will consist of the seal & a flashlight test. The flashlight test is making certain that “NO LIGHT” from a very bright flashlight passes through the mylar packages that this food product is packaged in.

If light passes through it then IT WILL NOT IN ANYWAY HAVE ANYWHERE CLOSE TO A 25 YEAR SHELF LIFE. Which is why people buy this stuff to begin with. So be aware of what you are buying, inspect it for production dates & open a packet or two & test is for taste & test it the packaging with a flashlight.

If ANY light passes through the “must be a mylar” package then return it & get your money back.

We purchased Wise Emergency Food Supply for our family just in case. We remember the Blizzard of 1978. We were trapped at home for a week, even when we could get out, there wasn’t anywhere to go. The grocery stores were closed or empty.

The produce and dairy items that were there, were rotten and uneatable. The frozen foods had thawed and spoiled due to the power outage. It was 2 to 3 weeks for the stores to dispose of the rotten foods, clean the stores and get restocked.

If you didn’t have foods to survive off of, you were hungry. We hadn’t, but we do now for sure!.

Arrived fast. Have not opened it yet and hope I never have to. We have tinned food and rice stored for emergency use. But this is a great alternative not to get bored of beans rice and tinned stews we have.

It will be nice to have these pancakes and something different for breakfast. Plus dried strawberries orange juice drinks milk and cereal. All with long term use by dates. It’s better to be prepared in these uncertain times with food shortages on the way.

Or even for weather incidents such as tornadoes and food is lacking locally for all short term due to homes and stores damaged. who knows. We just feel safer with than without. Hence this is great for a varied diet of food.

I’ve tried multiple vendors and have a variety of food stores. This was the cheapest way to get a good variety, and the buckets also come in handy as well. The food, I recommend you try it, since you never know- you might have allergies? Or don’t like it? The food is not bad, and probably even better if you’re starving and it’s a full blown apocalyptic event.

Some brands at five times the price, do taste better- but it’s just not a good allocation of resources for caloric storage. This is the way I go. I also recommend to get twice as much as you think you need.

Most American plates are unfamiliar with actual serving sizes or 2000 calorie rations. with a 5000 calorie nation. just buy extra.

Great with this offer. Love the new shipping arrangements. As for the items, It would be nice if a little less of the Orange drink and a bit more of other items were included in the order. Do not do high amounts of sugar.

They taste great however cannot use all the sugar. Only 1 pkg of the eggs in each tub. Still have loads of pancake mix from an order placed just weeks ago so really do not need them either. Wish there was a way to ask for specific items to be included in the orders.

I have grown grandchildren and they might be able to use the items I do not use as the economy is so difficult right now. Over all Love the pasta and rice and such. Just way to much of items I do not need or use de to health concerns.

We taste tested the products and were very pleased with not only the flavors but the textures as well. Some foods made to last long periods of time suffer in either or both areas. In addition the quality of nutrition in the products exceeds many products that simply provide calories via carbohydrates without much regard for protein and other nutrients needed.

The only criticism I would make is that depending on the product, some of the recommended “cook” times don’t allow all of the serving to completely re-hydrate and a little more time or possibly a few more drops of HOT water are needed.

Certainly nothing that can’t be addressed with a little experience.
