A electric on demand hot water heater is a type of water heater that uses electricity to heat water on demand. This type of water heater is typically more expensive to operate than other types of water heaters, but it can be more energy efficient and may have other benefits.

Stiebel Eltron invented tankless electric water heating technology more than 90 years ago, and is still the industry pioneer and world leader.
Our engineering and manufacturing tradition of excellence means you can depend on the performance and reliability of our products.
I was hoping for so much from this product. Yesterday I took such a hot shower during lunch and then that evening when I gave my daughter a bath, it only came out lukewarm. My shower today was borderline cold.
Tomorrow it may be hot again. I live in Northern VA and would not recommend this product. It ruins the experience of our new bathroom remodel. There’s nothing worse than remodeling your bathroom to your dream bathroom and hearing your wife say, well that bath wasn’t relaxing since she couldn’t get hot water.
I had the Tempra 24 Plus installed in June of 2020 and it’s been great. I haven’t run out of hot water when my family are all taking showers around the same time or when the dishwasher or washing machine are also running hot water.
I love that I can simply adjust the temperature on it as well. I will say that I was renovating my garage and the electrician put in a new electrical panel so he also made sure it would handle everything in there.
Supply House was great to deal with and helped me figure out what size I needed as well.
Don’t buy it. it’s terrible,I bought the tempra24 plus from home depot, I installed all specified wires and circuits so it would work properly and efficiently but this this is horrible. my electric and water bill did go down even more than I had Anticipated but hate it.
No constant temperature what so ever. I’m getting it removed and getting one installed by a professional. the tempraplus was a waste of money.

NOT A PAID REVIEW. For sure. This review is after 3 years of use on the Eco27 So, my small house 1100 sq ft in Tampa, Carrollwood. The hot water start coming out after 15 sec of opening in the closest bathroom and on the further bathroom, my master bath 45 sec later.
Also, I have mild hard water, no softener at this moment, so you have to do a cleaning/ flush, every year. BUT, the worst part happened in this 3rd year, when the PLASTIC part of the flow sensor melted inside and the plastic came down to the metal membrane filter of it and blocked my water, and the pipes literally exploded and leaked everywhere.
WHO IN THE WOLRD, MAKES A PLASTIC PART for something inside of HOTWATER, that boils at 120 degrees? Only an idiot. I guess aluminum was not an option? Now, is it cheap to replace this sensor made of plastic? Yes, $20.
But the leaking and re-piping cost a lot. Thank you A. h. les. By the way, remember to register it online with proof of a licensed Plumber & Electrician, If you dont, then no warranty. I hope you make the right decision after reading this.
I am very disappointed. I have been recommending Ecosmart for all my clients for 10 years but I will not any longer. In the past they were very good at replacing units on their lifetime warranty but unfortunately no longer.
They have become just like everyone else. The try to find any excuse to not cover the unit. After 3 days of calling and getting nowhere I asked to speak with a manager and was told one would return the call within 2 hours.
I am still waiting. I am in South Fl. And we have the Titan units that are local. They only have a 1 year warranty but after that you walk in to the local Factory with a damaged unit and they will exchange for $100.
A lot better than having to buy a new Ecosmart for $250+ because they will not honor their “lifetime” warranty.
I did extensive research about tankless water heaters and EcoSmart had the best reviews and a lifetime warranty so I had the EcoSmart 27 installed last month. A few places had it for a couple dollars less yet they all charge shipping fees that make Walmart’s price unbeatable! We feel more relaxed to know the big tank of hot water is no longer in the house yet it is only a month that we have the EcoSmart installed so it’s too soon to know all the benefits and any downfalls.
So far it’s everything we expected and we’re very pleased with the choice. It took a professional a few hours to install the unit with mo problem what so ever. There’s a large dial that makes it very easy to adjust the water temperature, hot water reaches the faucets in about half the time it used to take and we have yet to run out.
The unit looks just as it does in this picture and is the size described so it’s small enough to fit in a closet yet the design is attractive so it looks fine on a wall that is visible. The EcoSmart was only in use two weeks when the electric meter was read so it is too soon to calculate any savings it might have on the electric bill.
The bill was lower than it was the same time last year and this year we had the central air conditioner running constantly so there is no major increase. The lifetime warranty requires the unit be installed by a professional and it uses three 30 amp double breakers to run.
( It is NOT recommended yet many reviews were written by people who chose to void the warranty and install the EcoSmart themselves because it’s easy to install and parts are inexpensive and also easy to install.
) If your electric service has enough available breakers then the installation costs would be about the same as a tanked water heater. If your electric service needs to be upgraded then it will be a more costly investment yet you will not have replacement expenses that most water heater tanks have every few years.
Water heater tanks never lasted us long enough to be out of warranty and though the cost of the heater was prorated, the cost of installation steadily increased. The main reason we opted to switch to the EcoSmart tankless water heater was the extensive and expensive water damage caused by leaky water heaters tanks.
The EcoSmart tankless water heater is on the wall in clear view so if there is ever a leak it should be easily seen and heard before it can cause any real damage. The water shut off is right under the unit.
We are looking forward to many years of hot water when we need it, lower electric bills because we no longer heat water we don’t need and no more costly repairs of water damage caused by a leaky or burst water heater tank.
Stiebel Eltron has been a world leader in advanced water heating technology for almost 90 years. Our engineering excellence and high-quality manufacturing results in products fulfilling the highest expectations of performance & reliability.
DHC-E tankless models are 99% efficient, heating water instantaneously and endlessly and, unlike tank water heaters, have no stand-by energy losses. No venting is necessary. The compact European design saves space, allows installation with the unit visible and gives the flexibility to install in the best location.
A DHC-E 12 is ideal for residential and commercial point-of-use sink applications and single-shower whole-home use. It can be easily removed from a seasonal cabin or cottage for over-wintering. The DHC-E 12 is electronically controlled and can be set to deliver water at the temperature desired.
The number of sinks a DHC-E 12 can supply depends on the incoming cold water temperature, the water flow through the unit, and the supply voltage.
I bought it 2days ago and installed it today(2022. Mar22)in the garage. Because my home has 100A current allowed and detatched garage subpanel has only 30A. I did not want to install 50A circuit breaker (on the main electrical panel) that is supplying current to the garage subpanel because the electric wire that was originally buried under the ground was probably 10gauge for 30A allowance.
Definitely it was not 6gauge for 50A use. After installation When I turn the hot water at a higher volume water flow the heater’s red light indicater blinking until it matches the desired temperature and if the the temp reaches the desired one.
The red light indicator becomes solid red. That means the heater is using same Amperage which means electrically cruising at a same stable amperage. But when I turn on the water speed at higher volume, the heater tries to match it and draw the higher and higher Amperage till the maximum maybe near 50Amp.
Because my circuit breaker capacity was 30Amp. When I push the water volume heater was trying to match but the 30A breaker dropped down for safety. Anyway Low volume of water for my need in the garage for hand washing Not a problem.
I am very much satisfied with the very hot and low but enough flow to wash my hand and casual and daily use.
I have been using this unit as my base heater for about 12 month now. During winter, the tap water here is at 5. 5°C (41. 9°F) and it is able to warm the water to 43. 5°C (110. 4°F) for my kitchen faucet, which is plenty enough for our needs.
Its low trigger flow rate makes it able to provide hot water for both kitchen and bathroom faucets. It is barely enough for the shower though, in the summer. To solve this issue, we use a DHC 10-2 to boost its output, which makes both unit consume up to 90A of our 200A main breaker.
We do not have any cold shower, no matter how long they are.
I am om my second unit, as the first one fried and ‘blew up’ after a couple years of use. Made a huge mess in the bathroom, but luckily I was there to shut off the water. When the company replaced the first unit, they said there was no warranty.
After a couple of months, it stopped working. They said I probably have the wrong voltage. Electrician looked at it, the plastic connector for the wires had melted and created a short. He replaced it with a metal one.
Two years later,:unit keeps tripping off due to overheating. – that’s what the first unit started doing before it blew up. Called Siebel Eltron, they said they were not going to do anything as there was a ‘note’ on my file.
I asked why their units kept failing (I also have a Rheem tankless water heater that has been working fine for 7 years), and she said it was because I was in Canada, and their units weren’t designed for such extreme temperatures.
WOW. Aren’t the states of New York and Vermont also pretty cold? I’m in PEI, not the Yukon. Anyhow, the moral is, don’t buy Stiebel Eltron if you live in Canada.
I installed the Bosch Tronic 3000 under the bathroom sink of my 32 foot travel trailer and it has worked perfectly for the cramped small and awkward space. Now I do not need to waste water waiting for it to heat up to wash your hands.
This has saved me from having to run city water or fill the fresh water tanks as often when there are no hookups. It was fairly easy to install as I am an electrician by trade but still easy enough for a home do it yourselfer as long as you have basic electrical skills.
A little bit of install time is well worth it in my opinion. The size of the unit is small enough for tight spaces and It does deliver hot water quickly. I plan on installing a slightly larger unit under the kitchen sink.
I installed this unit inline with my electric tanked water heater. I’ve done this on multiple homes in the past with great success but it seems to confuse a lot of people. The rate at which you run out of hot water is greatly dependent on the water temperature coming into your water heater.
So if this unit can bump my 45 degree water up to 75/80 degrees then that will give me an extra 10-15 minutes of shower time before the hot water runs out. So far it has worked great and we haven’t ran out of hot water since installing it.
Plus I like the fact that I’m only spending money to keep 40 gallons of water hot instead of adding another tanked water heater and doubling my power consumption.
Get hot water for your space with this Performance Self-Modulating Tankless Electric Water Heater. This energy-efficient water heater delivers an endless hot water supply and consistent temperature with a self-modulating technology that adjusts energy based on your hot water needs.
With the electronic thermostatic temperature, you can easily read the incoming water temperature and control it in one-degree increments. Point-of-use installation and compact size makes this Performance water heater a convenient choice.
Initially purchased Ecosmart 18 from Home Depot. Had it installed and it wouldn’t work. Called them and did tests myself needed a new control board. Once I replaced it worked fine. Needed another unit for house didn’t want Ecosmart so bought Rheem 27 kw unit.
Had it installed. Didn’t work so called tech support and they have you go through hoops testing unit which I did. Called at least 9 times each time getting different tech person, each giving me instructions on how to test unit.
They replaced Control board still no hot water. Further tests. Now they want to replace some wires to the heating elements. Haven’t had hot water for 3 weeks because of bad unit and slow replacement of their parts.
WARNING! Do not buy this unit unless you have plenty of time on your hands, don’t need hot water in winter, have electrical skills, and/or are willing to to read the manual and learn to do your own unit.
3 weeks without hot water and still waiting for parts. Oh, their defective units will not be replaced except 1 piece at a time. Hope this helps.
Water heater works great and i was very happy with it until it stopped getting hot. Only 2 years old and had to replace a bad hearing element( it has 3) other two were in great shapeTurned the power back on to test and smoked a part the internet and parts list said was a thermostat( little round thing positioned in the center of each heating chamber)Called three plumbing companys, four supply houses, two of which were rheem dealers, nobody has spare parts and nobody can even figure out what the part is much less get me a replacement.
Rheem website has a parts section and when i drill down it says no matches. This has been going on for a solid week now and i happen to to be in another state for work and the same thing here. Dont carry spare parte for electric tankless, dont know what that is, so on and so forth.
One supply house said that they quit carrying these and the spare parts because they had reliability issues. Do what?? Following that logic the ford house should stop stocking oil filters and wind shield wipers.
I would give this a 5 star review but I have a problem with tub spout water temperature. Overall I really like this unit. The water temp on all the faucets in the house is great, except for the tub spout.
The shower is a nice 125F but the tub spout is only around 99F. The specs say a max of 4 GPM, but for my area the max is only 1. 7. GPM based on winter water temp (this is how the Rheem support person said they rate these).
This Information is not provided in anywhere in their documentation and you need to call them to see what they rate your winter water temp in your area. The max flow of the water heater is 4 GPM, but the tub spout is 5 GPM.
From all the research I have done, no plumbing manufacturers limit the flow on tub spouts. So with the smaller water heater, you will not get enough hot water from the tub spout to fill the tub at the same temp as the shower head.
I would not have bought this unit if I knew this in advance. My options at this point are: 1) live with it, 2) upgrade my new water heater (check the wiring/breaker requirements), 3) change the newly installed single handle shower valve to one that adjusts water volume and temperature separately and risk that the lower gpm out of the spout can fill the tub at a speed fast enough before the water in the tub gets cold.

As for the breaker tripping in other homes, as a licensed electrician of 26 years, I would advise you to take an amperage reading during operation. Most home owners do not have multi meters with an amp clamp so that could be difficult I understand.
If the heater is not drawing over 55 amp during operation you may have a defective circuit breaker, it happens. Try replacing your breaker. If the heater is drawing over 55 amps ther is a problem with the heater.
I appreciated Mike Vaughn’s comment and experiencing the same problem. The breaker trips half way through my shower and I am unable to fill my tub since the water starts going cold prior to the breaker tripping, consistently! Please provide the solution.
It resides on a 60 AMP breaker. Very disappointed so please provide resolution! At this point, I would not recommend this product to anyone!.
We installed 2 of these units in our new home one goes to each bathroom. One of these units had a hole that was in the brass and started to leak. We replaced it with a new one not warranty and around 3months later the other one stopped working with E1 trouble reset the unit many times and it doesn’t seem to won’t to work.
Marey The tankless electric water heater combines the compact size to be installed almost anywhere with the power to provide endless hot water to a whole house. It builds at high-quality standards to lasts many years.
It is the only water heater in the market that has the ability to be wired to a 10 amp, 20 amp, 30 amp, or 40 amp breaker. (by wiring the unit to a smaller breaker you are limited to the power setting you can use).
The powerpack is a versatile and reliable tankless water heater that can be used either as a point of use or to supply unlimited hot water to a whole apartment or small house. It is also called a water heater on demand, because it heats water only when needed, saving energy.
It is designed in the USA and it’s perfect to supply endless hot water for up to 1-2 points of use simultaneously, this greatly depends on your incoming water temperature and flow rate. (for a variety of residential hot-water applications).
Its compact design saves space and is easy to install. It is ideal for a 1-2 bathroom house in a tropical climate. For regions with a cooler incoming temperature as found in most of the continental U.
S. , this would be more suited for a single point of use to achieve optimal performance. The amount of temperature increase will vary on the power setting and the flow rate of water going through the unit.
Have it within 10 feet of shower and sink; just turn the shower on just enough to activate the shower head. whether you get 30 seconds of heat, then cold, or even temp throughout shower is a crap shoot.
Constantly adjusting it to try and get a stable heat flow; very hard to do.
Easy to install. Produces more really hot water than I need. I’m in South Florida, so I don’t even turn it up to maximum heating. Adjustable to be able to work with 10, 20, 30, or 40 amp breakers, depending on the temperature needed.
Endless on demand hot water without delay. Flow switch activates heater only when water is running, cutting energy loss and eliminating standby heat loss. 99% Efficient,. 99 energy factor. Proudly made in the USA.
The new units need to be installed with 3/8 inch plumbing down from my old 1/2 inch. It has a new temperature view window up from a on/off light on my old unit. I use my Eemax tankless hot water heater for my swimming pool cabana house for light showering and sink use.
It makes the outside bathroom more comfortable for the summer months. The first unit sent to me had a loud hum when the water was turned off and was returned for a replacement unit. Hoping the second unit will last for years with proper draining at the end of the season.
Regarding the Eemax SPEX55T point of use water heater: I bought and installed three of these units in my own home. There was so much “magnetic hum” that my wife made me take them out. I took one apart to learn what might be the source.
I concluded that it has a relay suited for industrial or large commercial installations but to noisy for a quiet residential bathroom installation. My saving grace was that I did not install them in a customers home.
The call backs would have cost me a lot of money and probably a customer.
I ordered the wrong unit. but I will be back to get the right one ! And a couple more. Your ordering, shipping and return process are all EXCELLENT. Eemax tech support is also excellent. I cannot wait to get my new tiny bathroom up and running.

I had the same unit in a house I bought and it was at least 13 years old (used by snowbirds) when it died (stopped making hot water and leaking) so for the price this seems reasonable service. I bough the same unit to simplify re-installation.
My major issue is that if you open the unit, which will break the seals, it voids the warranty. The unit I had was installed correctly where the power wires should be connected directly into the unit (evidently voiding the warranty).
The new ones come with a pigtail wire. You need to anchor a junction box nearby and use big wire nuts to splice in the pigtail. For a new installation I would suspect that the electrical inspector would say you can’t do this and need to connect the feed wire directly to the unit.
Also, the install directions for this unit say that you are supposed to use 6 gauge wire, and the pigtail is 8 gauge. Does this make sense? One good feature is that the old unit had no clearance to put a wrench on the unit fitting when tightening the compression nut.
Without a wrench on the unit you could damage the fittings on the unit when cranking on the compression nut. Evidently they figured this out and the new units have more space to attach a wrench that holds the unit plumbing in place when tightening the compression nut.
It seems like a good unit, especially for the price but the wiring requirements makes no sense.
Purchased this model 11 years ago for 179. 00. I used it in my business to service 3 bathrooms and one shower. Worked flawlessly. we sold the building and had to leave it behind. Now I just built another building and the titan was first on my list.
This new model services 2 bathrooms and a washing machine. I have 4 girls working at the location and they use it all the time. People are amaized at the size of the unit. I have 12″ of copper pipe right off the heater then I switch to pex via a shark bite coupling.
My old unit worked on a 50 amp breaker but this new one likes a 60amp breaker better. I have it in the equipment room next to the breaker panel and use #8 wire to a dryer plug. I have a dryer piggy tail on the unit itself.
I dont run the hot water faucet wide open. If I do, the temperature is warm to hot. If I restric the water flow slightly, I can have boiling water out of the unit. The slower the water travels, the hotter it gets.
Gone are the days of having 80 gallons of water boiling day and night just to have hot water when needed. Now it heats as it flows. J. Guidera TFC Sports floors Conway, SC.
Gives you instant hot water while saving you money energy-wise! Small, thus space-saving. Best part is it gives you an endless supply of hot water. My first one (N-85) lasted about 10 years. I hope this N-120 lasts as long.
Bought this to replace another brand of tankless water heater (that you can buy at a big box store) at my Dad’s house which only lasted about 4 years which was a big disappointment. Titan is the best there is for your money.
This unit is heating water for a 4 bedroom 2 bath home.
The Tempra 36 Trend is capable of providing consistently hot water to several fixtures at once while reducing energy usage. 240/208V – 36 kW copper tankless electric w. digital thermostat Tempra Trend models feature a memory preset that makes it easy to return to your ideal water temperature at the push of a button.
With the Tempra Trend, you’ll enjoy endless hot water, unrivaled efficiency, and the utmost in comfort. A Stiebel Eltron Tempra responds directly to your demand for hot water without interruption. Showers will always be hot, even if there are several taken in a row and they run long.
Every Tempra has self-modulation. Self-modulation ensures that only the least amount of energy is used at all times.
Replaced a standard electric tank heater with this tankless unit to save space and electrical usage at a seasonal cottage on Lake Huron. Overall performance is everything that i’d hoped for. It provides hot water for a shower (not low flow) even in winter, when the incoming water temperature is near 0C.
When someone uses a faucet while in the shower, the regulator does a good job at continuing to deliver hot water but at a reduced flow. I’ve found we rarely use a shower + faucet at the same time, but it does work.
Upgrading faucets/shower to low flow would likely address this issue. The only issue I have is figuring out the lowest flow that activates the water heater. While doing dishes by hand, sometimes I reduce the water flow to a point that turns the hot water heater off.
It seems to need about 50% flow (based on my kitchen faucet) to enable heat. Not a big deal, but it would be nice if it generated hot water at a lower flow. Space saving is incredible. Mounted it on a wall above where the old tank water heater sat and can now put a washing machine there.
Installation is relatively simple with pex. I’m considering a similar unit for my home. Absolutely worth the money.
This 29 trend took 3, 220amps I had my electrician install them he also put the 220 breakers separated from each other because they can draw a lot of heat. So to lessen the heat installing them apart from each other in the panel is the smartest way.
And we have 3 bathrooms and the water is hot with a lot of pressure.
Excellent. Installation was easy and the unit has been reliable so far (about 6 months). We were a little concerned about capacity since this was the largest electric unit we could fit on our existing service and we don’t have gas available.
The unit will provide hot water for one shower and washing dishes simultaneously or showering while washing clothes. Those are about the only scenarios where 2 users are going through hot water at the same time for our household.
There is a pressure drop when using 2 hot water sources, but nothing terrible. I would hazard a guess that if you wanted more than 2 simultaneous uses you should probably step up to gas or the next biggest unit.
Otherwise this has been a great upgrade for us and I would purchase another.
This water heater provides instant and continuous hot water for up to 3 showers and 2 faucets (based on geographic location). Tankless Electric. Instant, continuous hot water: instantly provides ample hot water for up to 3 showers and 2 faucets (review selection guide below to confirm this water heater will provide the hot water needed based on your geographic location).
i had it professionally installed and its keeps popping a fuse and stops working all the time. i think it finally completely failed after 1 years of use only and 900 later. i home RHEEM will send me replacement as its under warranty.
but seems liek its one of the worse ones to have. all bad ratings. i would like to upgrade to a better one.
Had this unit professionally installed above my guest house. Bought it at Home Depot on 1-15-2020. The guest house has ONE (1) shower and ONE (1) bathroom sink. That’s it. It was replacing an old 30gal electric from the early 80’s.
This unit WILL NOT heat tap water to shower temperature. The dial on the water heater is set to 140. With the shower turned to hot ONLY, the water was tepid. Lukewarm. If I test it in the sink, same thing, lukewarm at hot only (fully on).
If I turn the sink to a very slow flow, I get hot water. This will NEVER heat enough water for a shower. After my contractor called Rheem and fully troubleshot the unit, Rheem basically shrugged and said, “They need to buy a bigger unit.
“. Bear in mind, I live in San Bernardino County, along the 210 corridor (not in the mountains). This unit is rated for 2. 14 GPM and it does NOT achieve that. Not even close.
I installed this unit in my 2/1 1960’s condo replacing a 30gal water heater. What a great product! The install was easy i had to upgrade my breaker to a 60 from a 30 which meant upgrading the wiring gauge, which wasn’t hard at all.
I have hot water on demand now that never runs out! my 30 gal tank would only provide about a 5 min shower now its as long as i want. I have to fill my tub with free flow hot water at only half flow but to keep hot water but i figured as much from such a small unit.
overall it was very much worth it to ditch the hot water storage tank and have hot water on demand for as along as in need it. If i were to try to heat a larger house with 2 or 3 baths I would suggest a larger unit but the product is GREAT!!.
Rheem RTEX-13 Electric Water Heater – Provides Easy Hot Water in Your Household The Rheem 13kW tankless water heater provides amply heated water for your entire household. This unit permits reduced power consumption with 99.
8% energy efficiency factor. The compact profile has a small footprint that while permitting an easy installation saves a lot of space. The included automatic thermostat keeps the water at a desired temperature.

EcoSmart ECO 11 is ideal for handwashing in cooler climates and are perfect for a bathroom, small sink or office breakroom. In warmer climates, ECO 11 can provide continuous hot water at up to 2. 6 gallons per minute, supporting a bathroom shower or kitchen sink.
This model has a digital display showing output temperature and can be adjusted in 1-degree increments. EcoSmart water heaters are durable, compact and easy to install.
In retirement I labored as a handy man in a mobile home park. The recession hit the widows in the park. One discovery was a reliable, tankless, inexpensive hot water heater Ecosmart 11. Over a half dozen years I installed about 10 of them replacing failed tank type water heaters.
They are money savers from installation to every day use. Never had to repair one, never got a defective one, never had a complaint. They save a lot of space in cramped quarters too! All my installations were in summer cottages or Florida homes.
Larger models are required where very cold water is entering the systems in the winter. Do your homework!.
Designed to fail. this thing worked great for the first few years. Then one day an element went bad. No big deal, didn’t last nearly as long as your average element, but no big deal, except that they don’t sell the parts for this anywhere except their website so you have to wait a week or so before you can take a shower.
I put the new elements in, and it worked great, for about a week. Then the button/knob failed somehow and the display went crazy. The knob is integrated, so I replaced the whole control board. Worked great, for a week.
Now the flow sensor is bad and I have to wait until they decide to ship the new one. Don’t waste your money!.
Once you set the water temp. it is constant!! I also recommend a 2 year warranty. I have no experience on how long they will last, but my feeling is, the should last for years without trouble! I set it up for the whole house, but its best not to use more than one fixture at a time.
I think for large households, more than one could be installed.
Water Heaters Tankless electric configured for climates where incoming water temperature is 62 degrees F and above. Capable of heating over 2. 5 gpm. Digital temperature control allows temperature settings in 1 degree increments.
Voltage: 240, single phase, 18 kW, amperage draw: 75 amps,required breaker: 2 x 40 DP, required wire: 2×8 AWG, Pipe fittings: 3/4″ NPT, Dimensions 18″ x 14″ x 3. 75″.
Bought one of these online and installed it. We live in Northern New York and the unit couldn’t provide enough hot water for one short shower without going cold, even during warm weather. It will eventually warm up again but only after you have been standing in a cold shower for a few minutes.
The issues is the temperature of the incoming water, which remains constant year round. And it is an ENERGY HOG! Using 75 amps, it dims the lights when it comes on. Only if you live in the warmest of climates, have a 200 amp entrance and have plenty of cash for electric bills should you buy this.
As an hvac technician I found the unit very easy to install, a homeowner who is familiar with running electrical circuits from their electrical panel would be able to make this a DIY project. I installed the 18kw model in a condo with one bathroom in Philadelphia, it works well for the homeowner.
Only advice, all tankless units whether gas or electric supply hot water differently than tank models. There is a wait for the hot water to arrive at the faucet. The cause is due to the unit needing to start up, from a dead cold start, the water will flow warm and then hot as the water heater ramps up.
Tank water heaters hold the highest temperature water 365 days a year. I bought this unit because there were so few bad reviews, online for Eco Smart, other name brand electric tankless had many bad reviews.
I want to start off by saying this is now my second Eco 18kw water heater and they’ve both underperformed. It is advertised at 2. 9 GPM and I will recieve 1. 5 GPM before the unit shuts itself off @110°F.
I called and the lady i spoke with was very rude but I can get passed that. I called a bit later after running a few tests for them, halfway through explaining to the new tech support agent, they hung up on me.
So i decided to call again because i want answers on why my unit isn’t preforming as it should. Anyhow, they forwarded my call to voicemail and refuse to talk to me. I was never rude or condescending to the representative.
A horrible company that can’t back their products is not what i want nor need. I’m returning this one and going with another, more reputable manufacturer.

Purchased this unit for a non conventional application. I’m using it to heat the concrete slab my shop. It’s replacing a 50 gallon water tank. So far it has worked really well. Because it delivers a constant heat I’ve been able to run it at a lower temperature.
This gives me a more evenly heated slab while using less energy. It also reduces the age old problem of the slab continuing to raise the temperature in the building even after the unit cuts out.

I HAVE BOUGHT this product again and again. It is only used by me and My Wife. I have always thought that Bosch was Top Quality, and that is why I bought the first one. I bought it at H. D. They Never said that model was Out of Production for Years and had sat on their shelf.
When I had a problem with it, I found out that there were NO Parts available for that unit. I bought the second unit from your company. I liked it a lot. Now on unit #3 in less than 5 years. Your people have been Very Helpful.
The bottom line is that electric on-demand hot water heaters are very efficient, much more so than traditional storage tank heaters. They’re also very convenient because you never have to worry about running out of hot water.
