20 Best Dental Wipes For Dogs (2023 Updated)

My pup and I live in the Arizona desert and despite the image of a beautiful sandy landscape, the ground here is mostly hard, compact caliche clay covered with a layer of fine sand and dirt, which frequently gets picked up by gusts of wind and blown all over the place.

It doesn’t take long for the inside of my dog’s ears to be coated with dirt, which then gunks up quickly with any moisture in her ears. When a dust storm picks up it happens in seconds, and if we’re not able to get inside, we both get sand and dust in our eyes.

Each wipe is durable and large enough to thoroughly clean both her ears, and I only use a second wipe so I can clean her eyes with a fresh, clean surface. The wipes are gently enough to use around her eyes, nose, mouth and ears without causing her any irritation or discomfort at all.

I enjoy the pleasant clean smell they have also, unlike a some brands that leave an oily, chemical smelling film behind. John Paul Pet Ear and Eye Wipes remove all the gunk and leaves her skin and fur looking, feeling, and smelling clean.

I have a 7 yr-old Min Pin who allows me to brush his teeth but he only likes coconut oil rather than doggy toothpastes that we have tried. I ordered the wipes in hopes of doing a better job reaching and cleaning tartar off his teeth.

This product is amazing but first I had to tweak it. The wipes are big for a Min Pin mouth. So, the first thing I did was tear the wipe in half. I folded it and wrapped it around my finger. At first, he seemed to like the peppermint flavor but after two teeth, he ran off and rubbed his mouth on the carpet.

I rinsed the wipe with water until the peppermint was gone and applied coconut oil. This time it worked perfectly and my Min Pin really enjoyed the experience. I will continue to brush his teeth and provide his daily Teeny Greenie dental chew.

But these wipes are a welcome addition to my Min Pin’s home dental care. This won’t take the place of dental cleaning at the vet but will hopefully improve his dental hygiene.

This has the least chemical additives for dental cleaning that I could find, and that doesn’t involve a toothbrush! I just lay him on a pillow before bedtime every night, and massage his teeth on all sides; I feel like if someone did that to me, I’d enjoy it! He hated the toothbrush, and would bite down on it.

It has a very mild, unobtrusive smell. I also use Oxyfresh water additive in his water, so I’m not sure if it’s either one or both, but since his initial cleaning (after his rescue) 3 years ago, he has not need his teeth cleaned again, which technically you’re suppose to have done every year.

I cannot see any plaque on the teeth that I can visualize. So if you love your pooch, do both, it’s worth it, even tho it pinches the pocketbook.

As soon as I opened the jar, I noticed a strong chemical smell. My dog, who usually loves everything, did not like this at all, and backed away. I see that the main ingredient is witch hazel, and I searched if witch hazel is safe for dogs.

I found an article that says witch hazel is OK to use topically (on dog’s skin), but to never ingest it. I called Chewy, and they gave me a refund.

I am SO IMPRESSED with these dental wipes! I think they work better than when I use their tooth brushes. It easily removes any plaque or buildup and my dogs teeth always look amazing afterwords. my dogs are over 10 and both have had extractions and require soft food. i dont trust vets anymore after my cocker died from a teeth cleaning so i gave these a try. they are perfect for their little mouths, and they are moist enough and i turn bottle over each time i use to keep equal moisture top and bottom.

pleasant smell and taste to the dogs, one likes to lick after and helps clean her tongue too. i am glad i bought these. my dogs breath isnt good yet, hope maybe after a couple months this will do the trick.

The wipes do help somewhat to freshen your dog’s breath and aid in keeping their teeth clean if used regularly, but aren’t a complete solution, especially if they already have visible tartar. Giving the teeth a firm few wipes removes a good amount of the yellowing on the sides of the teeth, but doesn’t help in all the ridges and up along the gum line.

I’d say they’re best for maintaining already-clean teeth, and in combination with teeth brushing, especially if they already have tartar. They’re quick and easy and allow me to brush less often. Useful for my smallest dog who can close her lips very tightly, making it hard to use a toothbrush.

I can feel where I’m wiping/scrubbing, so I know I’m getting all the teeth, and not pushing back too far and hurting her mouth None of my dogs hate the taste, one of them loves it and wants to keep the wipe.

These wipes are very easy to use and to my surprise my dog did not mind me rubbing them on her teeth. She has recently had her teeth cleaned by our veterinarian so I am just wanting to maintain them so as to avoid future cleanings as she ages.

These did seem to remove some build up with just the first use. I like that the directions are to just use them twice a week – very convenient.

This product works great! my dogs teeth are so white I just love Baxterboo they sell the neatest stuff at the Best prices and they also have great sales I would definitely recommend this product and Baxterboo.

My German shepherd seems much more tolerant of these wipes than using a toothbrush and toothpaste. I can clean his teeth thoroughly and, in less time than brushing. His teeth are very white. I refrain from giving him water for 30 minutes following the wipes to allow the solution to remain on his teeth.

My cat was diagnosed with gingivits 7 years ago, when she was only 2 years old. The prognosis was that she would lose all of her teeth by the time she was 5. At that time, our vet recommended Dentacetic, and I have been using it on her for the past 7 seven years.

I bought this too at Valley Animal Hospital for my dog Baby Belle. She loves the flavor. This product gives her great breath The only thing that needs to be changed is there should be 30 wipes instead of 25 and they should Be a little larger.

My pup Jrt does not really need these, he chews on antlers and yak chews,deer skin etc,. His teeth are white and clean he’s only 14 months old now so I’d expect nothing different. But I gave his teeth a wipe around anyway, my 15 yr old yorkie has pretty worn foul teeth and breath, well he is ancient, deaf blind with bilateral heart murmurs.

So I gently cleaned his and got some gunk off them. Bad dental hygiene can add to heart problems, I always did clean my dogs teeth but feel these pads are a let easier to use, and let’s face it a soft wet pad has got to feel so much better in their soft mouth than a brush, no protests from my two.

For anyone with a dog that hates ear cleaning, these are amazing. The moist pads fit onto your forefinger. With a few gentle strokes whilst ear fondling you can clear any dirt or dry skin, leaving the inner ear soft and clean.

My dog was in bliss when normally I’m chasing her round the house. No liquid to squirt, disposable pads, wonderful!!.

The only reason I can even get this stuff in her mouth is because she’s well trained to sit and stay. But she STILL fights it. Afterward she manipulates her mouth like she wants to throw up. She goes to her water and food dishes right away.

It’s delivered by Fed-X. My dog loves to hate the Fed-X delivery guy. The delivery makes her day very special. It’s a five star event, but doesn’t make up for the yukky product.

This product really does the trick in removing tarter and returning to near white teeth. I have tried a few, but this is wonderful. It helps with bad breath too. I just put on an exam glove and use a pad or two on my schnauzer.

Purchased these wipes for my puppy who is going through a poop eating stage. His wonderful puppy kisses have turned gross. The wipes have a nice minty smell and are wet so they slide over teeth easily and I can wipe teeth tongue and roof of mouth to get out any yucky remnants from his patrol of the backyard.

I do not see where the wipes would work well for actually cleaning teeth so he still gets his teeth brushed daily. The design of the package is absolutely awful. The wipes are designed to be pulled up and pop out from a tab at the top of the container.

You must physically take the top of the container off each time take out the wipes pull off one and return the remaining back snapping the lid back on top The design of the container definitely needs help however the wipe itself is good for washing out the mouth as my puppy enjoys the flavor and the wipe is large enough that I can hold onto it and he will not swallow it it is a little pricey for the amount that you get but I will continue to purchase because it is serving it’s purpose.

these dental pads are easy to use, a must for dog and cat owners, you just have to get the pet slowly used to the pads and the taste of the cleaning ingredients in there. Imperative to clean your pets teeth, otherwise you will have a sick, painful pet that needs teeth extracted and you end up with a large vet bill that you can prevent.

Highly recommended. Just wrap one of the round pads around your finger, and slowly rub the front of their teeth. Praise them for being good, then every day, slowly work back into the rear part of their mouth.

Your pet and you both will be happy with no cavities or dental surgery!.

The round soaked disk’s were almost totally dry. Poor product. We through out. Garbage.

For anyone considering these–these pads are TINY, as in less than 3″ in diameter. Multiple pads would have to be used to get the job done, so in reality it’s not a good deal. Can’t tell from the pictures just how small the container and the pads are and I couldn’t believe it when it arrived in the mail.

That couldn’t possibly be the dog wipes I ordered when I saw the bag the arrived in. Find a better choice that would be easier to use when trying to clen your dog’s eyes instead of these little micro-wipes.

These wipes are one of my favorite dog dental hygiene products. They are the only chlorhexidine product that does not also contain zinc. I am concerned about overdosing dogs with zinc. Because I use a lot of dental products on my dogs, I am careful to not give them too much zinc.

The second reason I love this product is because it contains hexametaphosphate which coats the teeth and acts to inhibit plaque. This chemical is used in many human dental products. Ora-Clens wipes is the only thing I can find for dogs that has hexametaphosphate.

To use these, grab several wipes and rub the outer surface of the teeth. Then, let your dog bite down on the bunch with the very back teeth to bathe these hard to reach areas. These wipes are a great addition to brushing.

Additionally I love Proden PlaqueOff kelp supplement. I am also having great success with the addition of various chews. My favorite is dried duck feet because they are all natural and chisel off all the plaque on the back teeth.

I have recently discovered Purina Denta Life spongy chews. I like the concept of them and although I hate to feed my dogs starch/sugar/preservative dental chews as I think excess carbs foster the wrong bacteria in the mouth and also the gut, I am making an exception and using Denta Life because I do think they are working and I like the idea of alternating the spongy vs.

I was looking for something with no mint. I was pretty sure my cats wouldn’t like mint, and sure enough one of them ran away when I tried to use this. All the ingredients are not listed and Chewy gave incorrect answer as to whether or not mint was in this.

Please simply list ALL the ingredients! Also, my jar says “Medicated Dental Wipes” instead of just “Dental Wipes” as pictured, and also says “available through licensed veterinarians only”. Makes me wary of using this product.

I have a 10 year old Bichon Frise who makes it impossible to get a toothbrush in his mouth. His vet told me that he really needed a dental scaling which I had been trying to avoid despite all signs proving otherwise.

I found this puzzling because I had tried using a finger brush and he had hated it just as much as a regular toothbrush.

Once again, I got on the internet to search and thought wipes would be a great solution since he obviously didn’t mind my fingers in his mouth. I was excited to read the great reviews on Ora-clens and was eager to begin using them.

These wipes went beyond my expectations. My bichon lets me clean each and every one of his teeth without a problem. He doesn’t seem to mind the taste at all and although I’ve only been using it for a month, it’s kept the plaque & tartar at bay and his teeth are still pearly white.

So, if your dog won’t tolerate any form of brushing, this may work for you as it did for me!.
