20 Best Curtains For White Walls (2023 Updated)

I was ready to return these because after I ordered them, I noticed one hidden picture on a review that showed a black liner. So beware, from the outside, you will have a black curtain! And I was using them in our large living room windows.

Also, as others noted, “white” is more of a pearly gray. I happen to love it next to my darker gray walls. I decided to keep my sheer white curtains in the middle and close the blackouts for privacy at night.

It looks less like a shower curtain. And I used 3 panels per window. I was pleasantly surprised at the feel and quality of these. I don’t usually like shiny curtains but this has the right amount of sheen.

And as long as you thread them with the seams inside, they look fine from the street. (otherwise you see the white against black seams). I haven’t tried to iron these yet, as you can see. I haven’t had much success ironing with a “cool iron” in the past and it’s a pain.

These pics are right out of the bags. Overall, I was expected to be disappointed with this delivery and ended up being thrilled! These will provide the nighttime privacy I want and look very nice during the day! As long as you’re aware of the color and black liner, I think you’ll be happy with these for the price! I am!.

Calling something “Sun Zero” implies that these are “blackout” curtains. I can only hope that this part of the description will be more accurate. “The woven solid design reduces light and noise for better sleep.

Helps to keep your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. ” If one does read further into the details it does say this: “Room darkening technology blocks out some unwanted light while enhancing privacy.

” I will say these curtains barely block out any light. As other reviewers have mentioned, these are basically sheers. It’s too much of a hassle to refold these curtains to put them back in the package to return them.

So I will just keep them to hopefully add some heating and cooling conservation to the other curtains that I was going to replace.

I am so happy after hanging these curtains in my bedroom. I keep going into the room just to look at how ethereal my space is now. The pink color brightens the room but also darkens it—if that is even possible? I love the pink—more salmon than a true pink.

They also muffle the sound more than my last curtains. The quality is very good, but the wrinkles are an issue. I think a hand-held steamer is probably going to be the best way to remedy that. Going to let them hang for a bit and see what happens.

I love these curtains! They are exactly what I was hoping they would be. It came with two curtains (I had been worried they would count one curtain as two bc of how it is doubled up. ) It does not block out the light as much as blackout curtains do, but it does block out a lot of it.

I like the way sunlight looks coming in through sheer curtains too, so I love having that option. I only bought the extra long size bc, for whatever reason, it was cheaper, but I’m glad I did. It is gorgeous how it pools on the floor a little bit, like a waterfall.

Lastly, but, perhaps, most important, was the price. It is shocking to me how expensive curtains can get, so I was extremely pleased by the price of these curtains. I think I paid about $45. They were some of the cheapest I could find, and, also the most beautiful.

For me, these curtains are perfect!.

I love these catering two layer room darkening curtains. They are elegant with a satiny under layer and sheer top layer. They provide plenty of privacy and protection from the hot Alabama sun in June (94 degrees today).

Pics are straight out of package so wrinkles are not bad and will fall out. This is the third set of curtains I have purchased for this sliding glass door in eat-in kitchen, so I’m not easily satisfied.

But these satisfy!.

A perfect blend of linen and polyester. Enough linen to look crisp, enough poly to prevent wrinkling. they have a lovely “hang” to them, not flimsy. The color is not solid. a bit of white, a bit of natural linen which gives them a rich, expensive look.

The only thing I would recommend to the manufacturer is to create loops that snap or button so that you don’t have to pull the rod completely out to hang them if you decide to use the loops. They can also be hung using rings/clips.

I have purchased these 3 different times for 3 different spaces. they look great in each. I purchased them based upon reviews on the Houzz site and I couldn’t agree more. You cannot get a better look at any price.

So happy I decided to order these! I ordered these to cover a series of three windows in my family room and they look fantastic! I was worried the color would be darker than indicated on the site but they are true to the color of the photo and what I needed for my space.

I need to have them shortened because the length I required was between the 84″ and 96″ but once done, they will be perfect! The quality is great but definitely heavier (as indicated in the title) than other curtains in my home.

The weight provides the beautiful draping effect. I knew they were unlined when I purchased but ideally I wish they were lightly lined. I may decide to do so while having them shortened.

It’s hard to buy curtains online but these are even better than imagined. They hang beautifully and are a real steal at the price. I have recommended them to my mother and other family members as well.

These look like they will hang straight and be heavy enough to nicely puddle. They will not hang straight, even after steaming! The polyester is really stiff. Also, the tabs at the top have to be safety pinned back to look even remotely like the picture – safety pins not included.

Once I finally got them up and safety pinned, I still just could not like them. They look cheap. These are being returned.

The pictures look amazing, but they are ugly in person. Thin, shiny, cheap white fabric in the front and nice quality thicker but gray in the back. Once you tie the knots the curtain shrinks in width tremendously and once the sun comes out the top part with the knots is bright white but the rest of the curtain is gray-ish white.

Definitely overpriced for such ugly curtains. Returned.

These panels are actually pretty good quality, I really wanted something more sheer, these definitely have some light blocker to them. I haven’t hung them yet because I’m having some construction done and don’t want them to get dirty.

The only thing I don’t like about them so far is that they don’t come with tie feature at the top (which is what interested me about them). Rather, you have to take the fabric and make the tie. I don’t like that because they will all look inconsistent rather than uniform if made in the factory.

I couldn’t even figure out how to make the tie.

I’m a hoppy decorator, and my daughter and family moved back from Ga to Md. and she got rid of a lot of stuff for the move. She said she wanted an “adult” looking and calming room, since her job is nursing just as mine.

So I picked coral as a color for her room. These curtains with lace trim and sheers really worked and came out beautiful!!! I made the makeover a surprise while she was at work. Bed linen and curtains and rugs offset with cream furniture blended beautifully.

The curtain are coral but can also be paired with a light pink. I would definitely recommend to anyone. I am a true Zulily buyer frequently, and find deals continuously.

These are what I call “Earthy” and sophisticated at the same time. They are a substantial material and the lace detail is just the right amount so isn’t too feminine at all. However, after really wanting to keep them I just couldn’t as the photo online had them looking more towards the white side and these are beige, the lace looking a deeper beige.

I rent, the walls are beige/tan and I needed white or off white to off set that. I also have a white Northern Nights comforter so I am having to return. color was only issue. If I had white walls, would have kept them.

Pretty curtains, I guess people can’t read cleaning instructions because they clearly state TO DRY CLEAN ONLY OR HAND WASH AND HANG DRY! Yet people are complaining about them shrinking because you can’t put them in dryer and you can put them in washer or they will get damaged.

If people followed those instructions there would be no issues.

I just received these curtains and they are more beautiful than the website shows. I would give these 5 stars but the website is terrible to use. Things popping up all over the page and even while writing this review.

Found it very difficult to look at the curtains I eventually purchased. Truly wish they would allow you to shop in peace without the ADD TO CART wiggles before you select a size and color.

Got these curtains for our children’s rooms to block out the light for naps and nighttime. So far both kiddos are sleeping very well, and not waking up at the crack of dawn like they did with our previous blackout curtains (different brand) that were not as strong.

I’m looking forward to see how these super curtains keep us warm in the winter, too.

The curtains are good 100% blackout. But the color pure white outer curtain turns gray white because the black layer shows through the pure white outer layer enough to change color a little.

I specifically bought these curtains in beige because they were listed as being “room darkening”. These are NOT room darkening whatsoever! The description of this item clearly states that it is “room darkening” and I chose these curtains specifically for this purpose.

However, after putting them up, I am still getting a significant amount of light in the evenings from our security lights. The curtains are hanging over CLOSED blinds in addition to the curtain itself and there is still a significant amount of light shining through.

So, even with the closed blinds AND the layer of the curtains, I am still getting a glow of light into the room. These were not “room darkening” in the slightest.

Purchased these curtain panels in the light gray and love them! Love that they used a nickel grommet, perfect color with the gray. The curtains hang beautifully, the backing is white almost flannel. Ordered 3 panels to adequately cover a slider.

Looking forward to some extra warmth, along with a warm cozy feeling to a downstairs Family Room that tends to feel chilly in the winter months!.

I hung my Matias Embossed Trellis Draft Shield Fleece Insulated Room Darkening Grommet Curtain Panels in my living room and I think they add an elegant touch. I love the design and the pattern of the material.

Just adds a beautiful appeal to any room. These curtains are said to have a “draft-blocking barrier” around the window where it keeps your cool air inside during the summer and your warm air in during the winter.

I can say it’s true for the summer as I have noticed it certainly Helps keep the hot air outside the panels are insulated but the material isn’t a think material, which I like. It fits a standard rod and the Grommet makes it very easy to slide right on.

I like that Grommet allows for flexibility when opening or closing the curtains. I love that the curtains are fully enclosed in a nice plastic packaging. It protects the curtains from the time of purchase until it’s time to hang.

Beautiful color, perfect length, love the shimmer of the material but noticed it was worn through and raw / see through in a couple spots – looks like where it had been folded, maybe for a long time? It’s where the corners would be if it were folded up.

The material is see through – threadbare (like your jeans get before a hole appears, or worn out toes on socks before they turn into a hole).

Im in love with my curtains they look stunning and simple the material it has the appearance of Belgium curtains they look fresh and homy. If you looking to give and elegant but yet simple look this curtains won’t let you down.

These linen-like, semi-sheer curtains look beautifully on my taupe bedroom walls. They are of the highest quality. I was so excited to find the exact color I needed, after several false starts!

I ordered 7 new tags so we wouldn’t have to transfer them every time we put on a new collar. I ordered them to have the name on the front and our phone numbers on the back. 1/2 of the tags showed up with my dog’s name + my phone on the front and both phone numbers on the back, the other 1/2 showed up with my dog’s name and my boyfriend’s phone number on the front and both our numbers on the back.

The phone numbers on the front aren’t formatted and look like prison serials. So ugly. Why offer the option to customize if Chewy is just going to make it how they want to?? $55 down the drain. (I can’t post a pic because it has our contact info all over, so you’ll have to take my word that these aren’t worth the money.

I bought one of these in black for my puppy about 6 months ago. It looked great and held up well until he got his rabies tag that has to hang on his collar beside it. At that point it started rubbing the text off the back of the tag.

After about 5 months of wear, the phone number (toward the bottom of the back) is starting to be hard to read. However, for the price (paid about $5 each), I figure 6 months is decent. The size and legibility of it were perfect and shipping only took 2 days, even with the personalization.

I went ahead and ordered several more this time, with the idea that I’ll need to swap them out after 5-6 months.

It is disappointing that the Brothers who have such a popular TV show have not taken the time to evaluate the fabric or products they are selling personally. These drapes are low quality fabric. I took the time to press them, hang them and just could not stand looking at the way they draped.

I went to Target and replaced them with much cheaper drapes from Magnolia (another TV couple) and they look fantastic in comparison. I would return them if I had not thrown away the packaging.

Curtains are a very nice latte color; fabric is soft enough to gather & hang well. The weave does not have much of a slub texture and is smoother than most linen blends. I ordered two panels and one was not the correct style.

The correct Renato panel has a dark stain (looks like grease). I’ve ordered these curtains from other retailers – one had flawed stitching and one had tiny holes. Check every inch of these curtains!.

I received a sample pair of Scott Living Renato Linen Blend Semi-Sheer Back Tab Curtain Panels for free from TryItSampling, and I love them! The linen blend fabric feels great, and hangs very well. They were obviously wrinkled from the packaging when I opened them, but a little airing out and light ironing smoothed them right out.

The white color looks good. It is not too bright or too dull. I hung them in my bedroom. They look nice. They allow a little light to shine through, but block some. Overall, I really like these curtains.

I recommend them.

I have had these curtains for a few weeks and I put them up as soon as I received them. Well packaged on a heavy duty hanger. They have kept my room dark and cooler with no light at all coming in by the window.

I love the linen fabric and the color is a oatmeal color and it goes with my rustic decor. I will be ordering more as I need to cover another window. The stitching is about 7 per inch and if you would need to hem them that could be easily altered as the black out part is different from the curtain itself.

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars were the tabs on the curtains need to be bar tacked on both ends as some came loose as I was putting it on my rod. The stitching could also be increased to take care of that problem.

I have really enjoyed the curtains. The curtains are Martha Stewart quality for sure.

These Marta Stewart Blackout Window Treatments are a good option if you’re wanting to add a little sparkle and style to a room while keeping unwanted light out at the same time. The panels are silver and have filament throughout the weave so they have a shine to them.

If you are looking for something with a matte finish, these are not for you. The size of each panel is 37Wx84L This makes them good for a single window but may not work well with two windows side by side or for covering a sliding glass door.

They are blackout so you want them to cover the most area possible on the window. The panels easily slid over the curtain rod without any issues making them easy to hang. Another great quality about these panels is that they are machine washable.

I would say the weight of each panel is not as heavy as other blackout panels which is good as it doesn’t put as much weight on the curtain rod. This is not to say that the panels aren’t effective. They work well at keeping light out.

If you are looking for new curtains that block light and are a little fancy and stylish keep these in mind.

Wanted a new summer look for my bedroom. These curtains fill the bill. The room has a much lighter, softer feel. The size is exactly as stated in the ad. The bows are placed to match each panel. Can they really be hand sewn??? Very pretty.

Love the look of the panels. Rather than hang two on one window, we split the pack. Really like the flexibility of the pattern which allows you turn the curtain either way depending on your like.

These curtains are soooo pretty. I purchased a set for our bedroom. They hang great. I have a boho comforter and the styles compliment each other. Love. If you are thinking about it, get them!

Ordered these in “white” and was a little disappointed in the color. They are clearly more “cream”/yellow-ish next to our white moulding but were better than the brown secondhand curtains I have been lugging around from apartment to apartment.

The grommets allow the curtains to slide easily (no need for tie-backs). I don’t think they provide much of a “darkening” effect and wouldn’t recommend them for bedrooms but they are perfect for our living room.

The BEST blackout curtains I have ever bought! Worth every penny. I once resorted to taping garbage bags over my windows to block out light, as I’m a very light sleeper, but these curtains do the trick plus some.

If I win the lottery, I will put these up in ever bedroom, but for now, the master is good enough. Beautiful shade of purple too, true to the images. Love love LOVE these curtains!!!.

These are surprisingly good quality. The material is a nice weave, lined with a proper blackout panel, rather than a thin, unlayered polyester. Very thick, nice color (we got the cobalt) and they do exactly what they’re supposed to.

They’re a little shorter than expected, but that’s better than too long (for our purposes, at least).

I first used these curtains when my husband worked overnight and needed to sleep during the day. It went from that to every window in my upstairs and any downstairs that face the sun have eclipse curtains on them.

The amount of heat that these block in my upstairs is significant enough to make a difference in our electric bill. We sleep better and more comfortable temperature wise. If this isn’t enough they have really expanded designs on the curtains.

These are really good curtains. They block out most of not all the sunlight from the bedroom. I have a street light right outside my bedroom window, and it helped with that. Also, I don’t have air conditioning so the sun is not my friend this time of year.

The curtains seemed to help keep it cooler in the room making it easier to deal with the hot weather. I didn’t really notice to much odor neutralizing, but I have bad allergies so it doesn’t help with my sense of smell.

I really do think these curtains are a helpful addition to a house.

We wanted to put white, light filtering curtains at our family room picture windows that could be pushed easily aside for most of the day. But we also needed to be able to block the west sun in the afternoon and have privacy at night.

These curtains are perfect! They are bright white and lined, and although they don’t darken the room at all, they are opaque enough to block the afternoon sun and to give us privacy at night. They are lightweight, so they slide easily and we can push them all the way open to each side without having much if any of the windows blocked.

They look beautiful and do exactly what we wanted them for, and we have gotten compliments on them already. They were only slightly wrinkled when they arrived, but I was able to easily smooth them out with my steamer after they were hung.

We are very happy with our purchase.

Just ordered another pair I liked the last pair so much! They are soft and flowy yet they do help keep the cold out! They let some light filter in but definitely make it opaque enough that people cannot see from the outside I got the ivory double wide for my patio doors in the living room about a year ago and now white double wide to cover two windows with a small wall area in between for my bedroom.

Nice quality and a bargain price! BBB needs to state up front you can get them in double wide!! It comes under options but does not show up in the description or even search! I had to check my previous orders to find them again.

The panels are a good value, nicely made with a heavier lining and a sheer “outer” curtain that the lining shines through. The blue, however, has a sheer curtain that is closer to a green color; and, while the lining is a true blue, this causes the curtains to have a pale greenish cast to them.

I was a little disappointed as I wanted the beautiful sky blue that is pictured, and it is not what they look like. If you don’t mind the blue being “off,” they are a good value. I am hoping that Lakeside will work with me on returning them as I am a good (and fairly frequent) customer.

These sheers are nicer than I expected. Great price and quality. I was surprised at how nice they are for such a great price. The wand to open them is a great bonus. The fact that one sheer is like the size of two, gives the window a much neater dressing.

Don’t hesitate to buy these.

Although a much-needed, yet simple, enhancement to our curtains (installed on a double rod). the sheers provide a very polished/finished touch. Additionally, diffused sunlight enters the room without pedestrians having a clear view inside.

I Love the color of the sheers. My only complaint is that I can not get the wrinkles completely out. I washed and dried them and hung them thinking the wrinkles would fall out from hanging. They did not so I steamed them while hanging and when that didn’t work I ironed them.

That worked on most but not all wrinkles. I would not buy them again.

These are cheaply made. First of all, the length is so uneven, that even by altering how much of the top I clip, I cannot compensate enough to make the bottom edges look acceptably even under my window.

Secondly, they evidently must be pressed before hanging; I hung them hoping the wrinkles would fall out if I just let the bathroom get steamy for a shower or two, but no. Finally, the fabric and lace are cheap looking – not nearly as nice as the listing photo shows.

I am going to attempt returning them.

I have the ball fringed curtains and can just wash, throw in dryer and hang. They have no wrinkles and are easy care. I thougt the Plain Jane’s would be the same but they are not. After washing I still cannot get the folding creases out of them and they are very wrinkled.

I will have to spray starch on the creases and iron the curtains. Not what I expected for a fabric blend. Please make the Jane’s with the same material as the Ball Fringe.

I bought the plain and simple curtains because they were in replacement from the “Country Curtains. ” The material is not the same quality, much thinner and not all cotton. The rod pockets are for a wider rod which is different from Country Curtains.

I should have see that but did not in the picture. Also the sewing is subpar. I had to get replacements for the tie backs because after I washed them the threading came undone. I am using them because I went to all the trouble of ordering them and I needed replacements.

I hope the Vermont country story decides to change to a better and thicker all cotton material on of which holds up to washing.

Very disappointed with these covers. No body in the fabric & looked untidy from the beginning. Have removed them from the furniture. Would not recommend this cover

Website the product looks beautiful. Some reviews was all praises but 2 things the feel of curtains ugh like if something hooks it will damage right away. Check material quality before buying. Curtains seems uneven not sure if it’s my rod but I doubt it.

The outer material is white while the black out behind it is a lined blacked cloth which makes curtains looks grey because the outer material is see through the black from liner is making curtains looks grey.

Returning these not happy at all as curtains are expensive was expecting better.

I have 10 panels of these covering the windows in the sunniest room in my home. My FAVORITE part is that ALL 10 panels have the pattern matching, so that your eyes aren’t jarred by the pattern of one panel being even a millimeter off from the panel next to it.

The room darkening aspect is fantastic, and it’s definitely keeping the sunniest (aka hottest) room in the house much cooler! I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone considering the purchase.
