20 Best Cowash For Wavy Hair (2023 Updated)

I have low porosity 3a, fine to medium texture hair and I live in the humid Southeast US. I’ve been using the As I Am cowash for a long time, but it caused so much buildup that I had to shampoo more often than I wanted to.

I’ve been using this Mixed Chicks cowash and it makes my hair so shiny and bouncy. I don’t think it has any real chemical cleansers in it, but I don’t use heavy styling products so it’s great for me.

My cowash days are so quick and easy with this, I love love love it.

this is the first co wash that I have ever used and I really like it. I use it every two weeks, alternating between the mixed chicks shampoo with sulfate. it is a very mild cleanser that will not get all your products and build up out, but will still make your hair feel clean and refreshed without drying it.

the scent is nice, very light and clean. I do not think that it is drying like some reviews say. it leaves my hair soft and easy to detangle.

My daughter is mixed and she is 8 yrs old, I have been trying different products for years and still combing out her hair was impossible. A family member recommended Mixed Chick’s brand so I bought it and after the very first use it was so impressed! We could run our fingers through her hair, we have never been able to do that without using tons of conditioner and even then there were tangles and mats even though I really took care of her hair.

She has not cried or said ouch not one time since we have been using this cowash. This product quite literally changed my daughters life for the better I highly recommend this product!.

This is an amazing product! Having used other cleansing conditioners in the past, I can say this is one of the best. I have an oily scalp – and it actually does very well. The trick lies in a few simple details: – don’t forget to SCRUB your roots (not with your fingerNAILs but with you fingerTIPS).

Give yourself a good scalp massage – this is great for hair growth as well! – LEAVE the cleanser in. It feels like conditioner so it’s tempting for those of us with oily hair to have it touch the scalp.

But it actually does soak up the oil so you’re left with a clean feeling at the end – DON’t use this everyday of the week and expect perfect hair. I still use regular conditioner/shampoo every 3 or 4 washes.

This is a must for those with oily hair. and dandruffy hair. Because dandruff, believe it or not, gets worse with oil Pair with the styling lotion – it does a great job of keeping curls bouncy. As an Asian with coarse, oily, wavy hair – I never thought I could use a cleansing conditioner.

But after using this for most washes for ~3 weeks, my hair is a lot less unruly and frizzy. And a nice bonus is that it actually tends to get LESS oily between washes – partly bceause I’m not stripping my natural oils from my scalp and hair everyday!.

I recently decided to begin the Curly Girl method, and wanted to try multiple (cheaper) products before finalizing a hair routine. This is the first cleansing conditioner (AKA low-poo or no-poo shampoo) I’ve used and it has completely transformed my hair.

I have always had curly hair, but with an oily scalp and dry ends, and frizzy hair all around. This, along with a Carol’s Daughter leave-in conditioner has completely gotten rid of my frizz, and over the past month defined and hydrated my curls.

I didn’t realize how dry my hair was until now, and that it was causing all my hair issues. I will edit this review if I find anything better, but as a cheap, first choice cleansing conditioner without sulfates for ALL hair types, this is the perfect fit.

This product line was cool at first but after trying the shampoo and the conditioner (purple vanilla ) i bought the leave in spray and the hair milk …. It makes my hair very dry …. ESPECIALLY THE HAIR MILK I WILL NOT RECOMMEND FOR Very curly hair textured heads.

I have the hair milk in now and it turned it hard , and very dry feels stringy.

I have been using the Curl Smith products for a year about to be 2 years in July 2022. I did my second big Chop of my hair last year due to a major surgery I did that was giving me temporary hair loss, Shea Moisture was drying my hair out since they sold their company to someone else and possibly changed their recipes after using it for 6 years with no problem, and lastly, I just wanted a change of hairstyle.

LET ME TELL YOU: Since my big Chop and starting the Curl Smith Journey immediately after, right now, my hair when stretched is already down to my upper back. I even changed my hair care routine that I always was doing when using Shea Moisture and it will be my continued routine forever.

I have 3c/4a curly hair. Prior to my Chop my curls were dry and Curl patterns was losing their shape. When starting Curl Smith, my curls are define and no dryness at all. My hair has a lot of shrinkage so when it is curled up, it is a little above my shoulder.

My routine is only washing my hair every week with their cowash and on the 4th week. I do a deep detox wash with their Detox scalp wash system product. in conjunction, with their deep conditioner mask and Jamaican castor oil.

The cowash is so gentle on my hair but effectively cleans my hair to take the buildup from the styling products I use. I come out of the shower and when applying my products, it just glides through with no tangles and only my fingertips.

This cowash does what I want, it’s just to clean my hair to minimally take the buildup not strip my hair of its natural oils, which I love. I’m not a person who likes to review a lot but after using it for 1 to almost 2 years and seeing my hair in this fabulous condition, I was so happy.

In the end, finding hair products can be a journey for everybody. But when you find the right one, you will know.

I hope y’all read my full review but I know I talk a lot so in case you want me to get straight to the point: the price IS worth it because you don’t have to use a lot so it lasts, follow the instructions on the bottle, & watch Curlsmith change not just your hair, but your life.

This product has been a miracle to my hair after years of damage & neglect. I am in love with Curlsmith. My hair feels like butter every time I use it! I have 2B, medium porosity, fine, very long, wavy hair.

This product right here is the first one that got me hooked on this brand. This co-wash is amazing! I don’t need to use a lot so even though the price is higher, it really is worth it, I’m telling you!!! I was so hesitant to buy this at first because of the price but now I can’t go back to other brands.

I am spoiled & I ended up spending more money on cheaper brands because I had to use so much more product for them to even work! Nothing compares to this. Just the smaller size bottle still lasted me for months.

It’s gentle enough to use everyday if you wanted but I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week if needed. This product cleanses my scalp & roots, removing dirt, sweat, & buildup without making my roots feel dry & stripped because it still adds moisture! I don’t just use it for my roots & scalp, I also apply it to the entire length of my hair & detangle in the shower.

Just after using this for a few times my hair was noticeably easier to detangle, softer, shinier, & wavier!!! My hair smells like candy after using this & I couldn’t be happier. I now buy the larger bottle & of course it lasts even longer! Curlsmith is the best investment I have made for my hair! It changed my life because it made me feel more confident.

Relevant info: I have shoulder length, extremely fine (like, hairdressers comment on how fine it is), 2C/3A hair. I decided to try this on a whim because I love curlsmith’s moisture memory reactor so much.

I haven’t had much luck with cowashing in the past, because my hair is so fine it gets weighed down and buildup very easily. But boy am I glad I tried it! I’ve used it 3 times so far (every other day) and I haven’t had to use my regular shampoo/conditioner at all.

I tried it originally without using styling products after, because I wanted to try it on its own, and honestly I expected it to weigh my hair down as other cowash products have. I was shocked after it dried (I always air dry) that my hair was extremely soft and fluffy.

No product left behind, no clumps, nothing. It was actually a bit too fluffy for my taste, so the next time I used the moisture memory reactor afterwards (as a leave in) and my hair was as perfect as it ever has been.

Not weighed down, but not frizzy or fluffy, nice waves/curls, soft and touchable, not crunchy. Love it. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive, because I do need to use a fair amount of it each shower.

This cowash is wonderful. The smell is light and pleasant. It does not smell like traditional coconut scented products that are usually overwhelming and super sweet smelling. Which is great for people (like me) that dislike and would not purchase anything coconut scented.

It is perfect for using daily especially for those who worry about dryness on their scalp and or hair; it keeps it quite moisturized. It is easy to apply and you don’t need to use too much. It doesn’t lather like a shampoo however it gets the job done so long as you do not have a tremendous amount of build up or tons of product in your hair.

It’s great to use to after a workout or any activity where you don’t need a squeaky clean feeling (especially if it’s your second wash of the day). The package size is quite large and it lasts quite a while.

However, I removed 1 star only because of the packing format. It only comes in a tub so it’s not as shower friendly to use one handed like a bottle and probably causes most to use more than needed scooping some out, however don’t let that deter you because it’s a really a fantastic product.

Just take a little scoop out and close the container and you’re all set! If you really dislike the tub, you can also funnel it into another shampoo like bottle. Hopefully one day in the future they will offer a choice between a bottle and tub format.

so this is the second jar for me and it lasts a while. I only use it every now and then maybe one or two times a week. the consistency is like a conditioner and it definitely doesn’t lather (no wonder since it’s not a shampoo) BUT, co wash is the wrong word for this product if you ask me.

co wash is washing with conditioner only. This co wash really cleans the hair but also tends to make my hair feel a LITTLE dry. so I use my regular conditioner afterwards! make sure to rinse it really good so it doesn’t leaves residue (never happened to me) in your hair.

my scalp gets really clean and my hair too, the hair feels clean but a little different than after using shampoo. I don’t know if I really love this product but for the price it is ok and I definitely like it.

if your hair is really dry you should be careful with using it every day or every wash. make sure you use a conditioner afterwards, I don’t think you can skip that part with this product. maybe I’d call it creamy non foaming shampoo instead of cleansing conditioner.

I have straight color treated Asian hair & this product worked so good for me! My hair is also high in density, long, and low porosity. My roots get oily pretty quickly so I wash my hair every other day or sometimes I’ll have 2 days in between my washes.

I’m also prone to seborrhoeic dermatitis flare ups when I don’t wash often. Since my hair is a bit damaged, it is also dull, frizzy, and dry. In my old routine, my hair was literally at its worst after washes and the day after is when my hair looks its best.

Ever since I incorpoated my co-wash, my hair has looked its best all the time! I also now have 3 days in between my regular shampoo days (second day is cowash day) and it’s really helped my hair. There was also barely any breakage, which I usually had quite a lot of in my previous wash routine.

I rlly recommend this product, especially if you want to reduce how often you shampoo while still technically washing your hair.

I use my “old” 1 liter bottle of co-wash to dispense the 8. 5 fl oz of co-wash. Reason–I add about 6 oz of warm water to the 8. 5 fl oz of co-wash. Before placing the co-wash on my hair, I shake the 1 litre bottle and dispense 1 squirt on the back of my head and 1 squirt on top of my head.

This facilitates the lathering. The co-wash moisturizes my curly hair. Curly haired people cannot and should not wash their hair everyday which is why the co-wash is invaluable. What I don’t like about the co-wash product is that Aveda no longer carries the 1 liter bottle of co-wash–that is the reason behind the 4 stars rather than 5 stars.

Please bring back the 1 liter bottle of co-wash.

If you have dry and damaged hair, you might not want to wash it every day abd dry it out further. This is where the co-wash comes in. I was a little confused by this product at first and honestly it does seem a little gimicky, but I’ve tried it nonetheless, and I did like it well enough.

This would be like an in between wash on the days where you just want a light wash and you don’t need a deep clean. Maybe after you’ve colored or permed your hair, it feels a little dry and you want to be gentle with it, this would be a good time to use this maybe every other tine you wash your hair.

These are the circumstances for which I can see the usefulness of this product.

This was so smoothing and so amazing on my daughters out of control thick hair AND my hair. It was truly smoothing and our hair was frizz free for 5 days. No product in any line has done that. I still had volume and bounce.

Beat hair day of my life!!!! Bring back the liter!!!! I didn’t even know they made this until i was looking for a product and stumbled upon it and I’ve been a die hard Aveda user for 32 years. Highly recommend.

I blow out my curls and it was so easy and stayed straight.

This doesn’t leave your hair “crunchy” or “hard” like any other would! I have curly hair when it comes to finding something that works with your hair may be a little difficult. I was very surprised at how it left my hair! It is so effective! A little goes a long way! So I definitely recommend for you to try it if you’re looking for a gel for curly hair! Best hair product I have ever tried.

I use it every day. It has a nice soft scent. It’s very effective. It makes your hair stay in place all day, but when you brush it, your hair Becomes Soft and the best part is that it doesn’t flake like other hair gels do.

I was using the Kristen Ess co wash (not clean!) before this and this is far superior. I have recently become a lot more conscious about the ingredients in my products and I have 3B/3C curls. That Kristen Ess co wash was like any other conditioner but they just packaged it as a co wash.

You can actually tell this Shea moisture product is unique and has its own qualities. It’s not quite a shampoo nor is it quite a conditioner… It is somewhat in between. I felt that it was so effective in removing buildup simply by massaging it into my scalp for a few minutes.

It also smells amazing!.

To start, this conditioner is in my opinion the best smelling, detangling miracle I have ever used. I have THREE daughters 1 with thick wavy small s curl patterned hair I think 3c. 1 with thick wavy big s curl patterned hair and 1 with literally a mix of both top half of her hair has med s curls and the back has small s curls.

And they all have a coarse patch right on the top middle of their heads, smh. I said all of that because THIS conditioner softens, smooths, absolutely detangles and has a lasting scent for a few days.

I looove this stuff and the funny thing is I have never tried on my hair. I have other Shea moisture favs for my hair. But PLEEASE give moms like me a larger bottle, a leave-in spray or cream for styling, and maybe a serum for moisture and shine.

Please, and I look forward to something new in that scent I’m hopeful.

Let’s begin with my stylist said I have 3c-4a/b hair type and only said the type in case anyone reading this hair is the same. But by all means if the way I chose to apply the products work for you do yo thang.

The point is as I learn my hair and go thru this natural hair journey that healthy strong hair is the best hair no matter how you rock yo style. And I am so glad to see many products out there to choose from but my stylist suggested I try MO at last appointment a few weeks ago.

And ordered it soon after she told me. I ordered Mielle Organics some weeks ago and received it not long after and decided to try it out for the first time especially since getting braids today. As a matter-of-fact, I am at the braid salon as I type this review.

I used MO Detangling Co-Wash, Rice Water Deep Conditioner, Rice Water Split End Therapy, and Mint Almond Oil to prep hair before braiding. All of these smell 👃 so good!!! I shampooed twice and the Co-Wash has a thin, light, creamy texture and coat the hair.

The RWDC is a great product. My hair soaked up the RWDC soo good-good lol. This RWDC has a thick, creamy texture, is moisturizing and hydrating, and does add shine immediately to hair. It helps reduce split ends and breakage.

I just got my first trim a week before making appointment to get hair braided in my natural hair journey since April 2021 and wanted to start off keeping those ends tight and right lol. Though the RWDC is to reduce split ends, I used RW Split End Therapy just as an extra boost and applied to wet hair.

After applying the RWDC and RW Split End Therapy to roots to tips, applied RWDC first for 20 minutes with plastic cap, then applied RW Split End Therapy for 10 minutes with plastic cap for a total 30 minutes and then rinsed out.

Then last, applied the Mint Almond Oil on wet hair for more moisture, reduce breakage, shedding, and itchiness. Omg that mint and almond smells amazing. The mint definitely can feel the refreshing scalp.

The oil adds much moisture and shine immediately and can definitely see the shine in the sun. My hair felt moisturized and so soft it’s hard to keep hands out my hair especially since the MO product scent is on my hands 🙌.

With each product in this review used, my hair felt clean, moisturized, and soft – a great way to prep for braids! Thanks MO keep doing what you do!.

This is the best moisturizing detangler that I’ve ever used. It’s so gentle that I initially started using it on my girls before they were a year old. I needed manageability for my now eighteen mo (4B) & 5 yo (3C).

Most weeks I use it to pre-wash and detangle as much as two-days ahead. It is nit rinsed out. They wear the detangled hair with only the co-wash. Yup, after detangling nothing else is added. The hair is ready to wear until wash day.

Why? Because it makes their hair silky and easier to comb. It’s gentle and doesn’t irritate their scalp. It also doesn’t strip the hair of essential oils. On wash day it only needs two wash, and Rinses to thoroughly clean their hair.

Whenever necessary I may finish with a deep conditioner but it’s normally not needed. The only con is the bottles aren’t large enough. The 5 yo now has hair to her tailbone so our process consumes nearly a full bottle.

It’s a fantastic product that I also use each week on my own hair.

I’m really not a co-wash person but I would definitely buy this again. I purchased this to see how I would like using a co-wash and I definitely like this. I do use it on days when I’m feeling lazy and I really don’t want to wash my hair but I need to remove product build up and get my scalp clean.

I do wash my hair with this co-wash twice just to make sure that I’m getting my hair and scalp clean before I apply other products to my hair.

It’s a great sweater/layer BUT, way too big. I used your sizing chart and ordered accordingly without success. It’s too big. So, I don’t think your sizing charts are terribly accurate. On the scale below, it’s “quite a bit too large” – ordered an XL but could have used an L and possibly a M.

The fabric is beautifully soft. It was final sale so it’s mine for wearing around the house I guess. Disappointing.

This shampoo used in conjunction with the matching curly/wavy hair moisture mask has been a real winner. I have naturally blonde hair with a lot of texture. Tight wave underneath and flat on top. This combination of products has helped define my wave and combat frizz.

As a bonus I no longer suffer from a dry scalp. I have used so many high-end products and spent a fortune trying to achieve a more manageable mane. I highly recommend! After washing I use Olaplex #6 and #7 bonding oil on my wet hair.

Very comfy top. I love tercel and this top does not disappoint. It drapes very well, I love the colour (spice). The drop back provides coverage where I want it. I am looking at the other colours (although none will be as gorgeous as the spice!).

Love it! 3c-4b, suffered from scab hair as I was first transition to natural. This has really helped me have an actual curl pattern. I use this line and sometimes add protein or opalx. Ive tried it all! This line is the bomb! Here is my wash day routine: 1.

I drench my hair with coconut oil or oilive oil sometime right before or the day before 2. I wet my hair with the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Water Spray (or Oplax 0, no oil if using Oplax) 3. Use the co wash, part hair in 4-8 sections, use wide tooth comb or fingers from end to root 4.

Rise hair with warm water 5. Apply Jamaican black castor oil moisturizing mask ( and protein*). Let sit for 5-15 min. Then rise with cold water. 6. Apply so much moisture 7. Apply Jamaican castor oil to hands and work into hair (not too much) 8.

Apply Jamaican Castor oil curling cream 9. Style with light mousse: braid, twist, wash no go.

I love the original coconut co-wash. I decided to get this larger jar with the pump applicator. I hated having to dip my hands into the jar before. I have 4c hair and issues with dandruff. I would notice dandruff on my scalp and it’s something that I can’t stand so I would wash my hair.

The problem is that I would use a clarifying shampoo. This would dry out my hair and make it feel rough. I started co-washing in between my normal shampoo days. It is moisturizing and it cleans my scalp well.

I even used this after dying my hair red with volume 30 developer. (My scalp was so sensitive after using the developer). The smell is great too.

I really like this option to regular shampooing all the time. It smells great and keeps my scalp from drying out excessively in the winter. I try to use it twice a week, but generally once is enough to work its magic.

I really like this product. I have thick coarse hair that is not curly but sometimes can be very unruly. This seems to tame it down a bit.

This product changed my life. Before I found out about Cantu, I had heat damaged, dry, lifeless hair AND I was spending $15-20 on ineffective products, hoping something would help me like my hair. Then I found this online and decided to give it a try.

I’m so happy I did because it gave me so much confidence in my 3c/4a curls! Figuring out my routine with it took some trial and error- I find that watering this down in the less curly areas and applying while my hair is still dripping wet in small sections makes my hair much bouncier and more defined.

I also scrunch after it air dries. Everything else I use is also in the Cantu line, so the smell is very consistent (I get lots of compliments!)Love this! Will buy it forever! I went from a stylist telling me my hair felt like straw to my stylist telling me it feels super soft and moisturized! (Buy it at Bed, Bath, and Beyond with a coupon- it’s much cheaper that way).

I love this product and bought extra as a gift for someone. But the way they were packaged together with sellotape ripped all the writing and information off so it doesn’t look like a new product. I was then unable to give any of them as a gift.

Which was disappointing. I can and will still use them for myself as I love love love this co-wash. So it’s not a bad thing. Just maybe package them in an alternative way. Like no sellotape x.

I love this stuff because it doesn’t strip your hair. It cleanses the hair gently without taking to much natural oil. I love the lather , very bubbly. It gets the job done and cleanses the hair thoroughly.

I like to use this for my afro texture children. It’s better to use a good co wash instead of shampoo. This one doesn’t disappoint.

I was very concerned about trying this product because I never heard of a “co-wash”. So I did a little research online and found out that a “co-wash” is a conditioning shampoo of sorts. Oh okay, and it won’t strip your hair if your hair, like mine, is dry and prone to frizz! So, I’m a hair Type 4A with 3C pieces throughout and I have been loyal to Aveda for decades (*since the 90’s) so I thought, will this work for my newly natural hair? Well IT WORKED! It worked quite well too! My hair was soft, nowhere near as tangled as it has been, and so smooth and smells great! I am not paid for any of my comments here, but I chose to write a lengthy one because if you’re desperately searching for natural products for natural hair, you’ll want a brand like Aveda.

However, if you are in the Type 4 category, finding a product for our curly coils is sometimes maddening. So let me finish my regimen as of last night. I washed with the Co-Wash, then I put the Detangling Masque on (*ALL BE CURLY LINE) and let it sit while I showered (*next time I may heat it under a dryer for maximum penetration), and then I combed through it and was amazed and how the tangles were so few! I then used the Be CURLY Curl Enhancer, and twisted my hair in multiple sections.

Untwisting it, as it dried overnight, I have soft, defined, and smooth hair. I’m about to cry because Finally found the method! So then, this morning, I said, what might happen if I use my go to favorite, the Brilliant Humectant so I did! The result was beautiful shiny waves that were absolutely soft and smooth! I’m so happy! I will not lie, I did try multiple shampoos and conditioners with my newly natural hair, and none of them did more than tangle my hair.

This, however, this is the ticket! I will continue using it, and also will ask that Aveda will hopefully move to larger sizes in these products as I like to have what I need in large quantities! Never have I been more afraid of running out of basic necessities.

This product helped me with: 1. My curly hair and keeping it moisturized 2. And helped me heal Sebborhic Dermatitis. I am 53yo. I have tried almost every imaginable shampoo and conditioner for my naturally curly hair.

This journey has been long, frustrating and expensive. I decided to let my gray hair grow out naturally two years ago. I found that some products that say they have certain oils ended up stripping my hair of moisture.

Then, over a year ago, I had driven to L. A. to spend time with my dying father, I had been staying over at my sisters house helping to take care of him until his passing. While I was there, I noticed that she had this shampoo made by Cantu.

I tried it and LOVED it. Needless to say afterwards, when I returned home, I decided to buy myself the Cantu shampoo. Well, I couldn’t find it, but did find the co-wash. So I decided to only use it when I needed moisturizing.

Then, about a month ago, I noticed my scalp was super dry, silvery flakes that I could actually peel off! I was horrified and in stinging pain. I bought TGel and that made it all worse, I thought I was going to have to see a dermatologist.

But then I remembered that I had the co-wash that I reserved for moisturizing between shampoos. So I tried it and the results were instant! My scalp looked normal, felt normal, and pain free!!! My hair is nicely moisturized.

I should have been using it more often since I was using the heater due to the colder weather. I have decided to use this more often, so I highly recommend this product for moisture and keeping the curls in great shape and the scalp healthy.

I am loving the Cantu products so far.

Empty product! I’ve been buying this brand to use for my eldest son’s hair. this is like the third bottle and I’ve noticed how this brand works best for his hair, so I bought every hair care item in this brand to use.

I recommend for textured hair, the down side is I can only find this brand at dollar general at least where I live anyway. it’s super affordable ($5 per item).

I like this shampoo a lot and use this on the regular. Gets the hair very clean without stripping the hair completely. One thing I don’t like about the product is the scent. It kinda smells like coconut but not completely and it’s not like a fresh coconut it’s like artificial coconut mixed with hair products.

Horrible product. I have 3C, fine, wiry hair. It smells like plastic bubblegum chemicals, literally sickening. Made my hair crunchy and tacky. Used once and trashed immediately afterwards. I wanted to try something new but I’ll stick to my staple leave in that works.

Idk how this has good reviews but I guess everyone has diffferent hair. I would not recommend this product.

The product is scented like a coconut meringue to me. It has quite a thick texture but doesn´t weigh my hair down or leave a greasy film. Also it makes my fly aways a lot less and with having very dry and damaged hair it has definetly helped a lot.

It also didn´t irritate my dry scalp and I use this 2 times a week under a cap. The only downside is that it comes in a jar which isnt great in the shower and you cant really detangle your hair with this conditioner.

You also have to use quite a bit to cover your whole hair but I also have pretty long, thick and curly hair so it might just be me.

The PERFECT cowash! I’m semi new to cowashes so I didn’t really know what to expect with this product but WOW. At first I was hesitant as I’m not a fan of coconut scent but it smells amazing and nothing like coconut! This product is very thick and creamy which allows it to spread well throughout wet hair and obviously, doesn’t lather since it’s a cleansing conditioner.

I would recommend using a wet brush/comb to detangle while the product is in your hair and once you rinse, your hair will feel like gold!.

It’s thick and creamy. I love this product when I’m in between washing my hair or not. It helps keep my curls intact. It’s not pricey which I like. It smells great. If you’re looking for something new to try this is a great band to try.

I really wanted to like these products, but they did absolutely nothing for my hair. Left my hair really sticky, lank, didn’t allow my curls to clump as well, and as a result it definitely was not as curly as normal.

I have 3a/b curls and after using these products my hair looked like 2a/b waves at best. Not good! The shampoo was nice, had a good lather and did remove a lot of build-up, which I liked. However, it left my hair a bit too soft which, when dry, then turned really flyaway.

Perhaps if I use it more sparingly, or with other products it may be okay, so I won’t rule it out completely. The conditioner was way too thin and watery and didn’t absorb well in my hair at all. It just sat on my hair, until I combed it through and then most of it dripped out and ran down the comb whilst I was combing it through.

I had the most hope for the curl creme as I’ve been looking for a product to replace Shea Moisture’s JBC Styling Lotion after they changed the ingredients/formula for the worse. However, Only Curls curl creme is pretty pointless.

It is very thin, with little to no hold and if you need to use it with the gel for you to see any difference, I just can’t see the point in it. I usually only use one product on my hair to avoid build-up and to stop my low-porosity hair being weighed down too much, however I did try the curl creme with the gel to see if it worked any better.

Big mistake! The gel was the worst product of them all. Not only did it have an awful chemical smell to it (whilst all the other products smelled lovely) it left my hair sooo sticky and however much I scrunched my hair, the curls never seemed to appear.

I stuck with it and tried applying it in different ways – it was marginally better when used on soaking wet hair (instead of damp or 80% dry hair) but even then I still had areas where my hair looked almost straight, and by morning (after pineappling my hair at night) all of my hair looked wavy to straight.

Unfortunately, I just don’t think Only Curls is right for me. Whether it is because their products don’t work well on low-porosity hair, or whether it is just my hair type I don’t know, but I didn’t like the way it left my hair.

bought the styling cream and gel after watching lots of different videos. I used it like it said in the videos but I have lots of fine wavy hair down my back that always goes frizzy so using a little bit of product still left me with frizz but when I used lots I loved how it gave my curls more definition but it feels kind of greasy, like when you have lots of product build up after 4 or 5 days.

Also I still have frizz all over. Do you have any styling tips that could help please? I did email you but never heard back. I just bought the mega hold gel and also some pineapple protectors and the conditioner, how would you advise to use everything to get best results? I like bigger hair with waves but when I get this I always have frizz, what can I put on dry hair when it’s styled to tame down the frizz? Any help would be much appreciated.

I have attached some pics to show you my hair type. The pic where I have the black top is when I just did my hair and I loved it, but the other pics are the next day and it looks really frizzy , and overloaded with product.

( videos online said to wet hair next day and apply little bit more product to refresh look, but I must have done something wrong because my hair looked super frizzy and really overloaded). You can see on 2 pics where my hair looks lighter *1st day, and curls are really defined.

But others my hair looks orangey*2nd day ( not a word! Lol) I have spent years straightening and then curling my hair as I could never get smooth curl naturally and it would just look messy, these are the first products that have made my natural hair look good, even nicer than with curlers!.

As I am new to natural curls any advice would be greatly appreciated. Julie Q.

First time trying a co-wash and it was awesome! I thought the more suds the cleaner your hair is…. I also tried the sunflower oil and hair milk…they are all so good and smells so good!! I will be ordering more so I don’t run out! Thank you Epiphany for introducing me to these products! I love them! My hair look so good now and my curls are popping 💕.
