20 Best Cowash For Curly Hair (2023 Updated)

I have lightened 2c/3a hair (natural dark blonde to a light blonde). My hair has always been very protein hungry but is especially so now due to the coloring. I’m growing it out from a buzzcut/big chop to remove old bleached platinum hair so strength is a major need for me along with nourishing new growth with lots of moisture.

I have a graveyard of conditioners in my bathroom but this is the one I reach for 9 times out of 10 unless I’m doing a deep treatment wash day (and then I reach for the Olaplex). It gives good slip for a protein conditioner (not super slip, but it’s dang good for being this protein-heavy) and leaves my hair so soft and bouncy.

It’s thick so I don’t have to use as much as I normally would with a conditioner, and especially after using the Cowash from this line I don’t need much conditioner. So while the price is a bit much for the jumbo size initially, it’s going to last me a long time.

On the tiny bits of previously bleached hair I have left I’ve noticed an increase in strength and elasticity as well as greatly minimized breakage. It’s absolutely one of my favorite conditioners and works so well with the whole Curl Charisma line.

It also seems to agree well with my Olaplex stylers and other leave-ins. I’ve even turned a few friends with straight-to-wavy hair onto this wash because it’s so great at addressing common issues with bleached and/or color treated hair.

So I wrote a review for the conditioner when I had to use the do not despair shampoo instead of the shampoo, and both shampoos are absolutely horrific. This shampoo gave me literal flakes at the top of my scalp.

I don’t have a sensitive scalp at all and I’ve use all kinda of products on myself. I wanted to love the shampoo because I had wavy/curly hair and wanted to finally find products that cater to that. What a regret.

I bought the big bottle to make things worse and pass the return window because I just wanted to stock up because I assumed that the shampoo would be fantastic. Suffering for literal months. I had to use so much shampoo just for me to think that my scalp was clean.

It was a nightmare I would come out of the shower and there would be flakes as if I had dandruff on the top of my scalp. The only hope was literal putting rose water and oils on my head. I just recently switched back to Ola Plex and the flakes are gone after just the first used, it just further assured me that this was 100% the shampoo.

I used ouai and bb cleansing shampoo, and sometimes it would get it out and would switch back to briogeo shampoo and it would act up again. Do not use this shampoo unless you know for a fact this works for your scalp and hair.

I’m so glad that I no longer have to wonder what is causing my scalp to flake, stay away from this shampoo!!!!! $120 down the DRAIN.

I have fine, wavy hair that gets weighted down easily. Additionally, I have light/medium brown hair that IMO shows grease or oils very easily. I’ve never tried a co-wash before because I had heard that they leave a lot of residue on the hair.

I was pleasently surprised by how cleansing this one is. I use it more like a mask as I find that it can seem a bit drying unless I let it sit in my hair for a bit. I use it on wet hair first thing in the shower, then rinse it out towards the end.

Usually, that plus some of the curl charisma leave in is enough for me to sort of wash and go. However, I deducted one star because I only use this method when I’m in more of a hurry or when I’m going to be at work with a hat on anyway.

My hair does still look clean enough the next day to go without washing, which is great and isn’t possible for me with most other hair care brands. I think that the curl charisma shampoo is actually more moisturizing and my hair is softer when I use that plus another Briogeo conditioner (I like to use the volumizing line with the curl line to help plump up my waves).

All of the Briogeo products I’ve tried rinse out of my hair very easily without being drying or leaving residue. I haven’t decided if I’ll purchase this again or not yet. I think I probably will as the more I use it the more I like it.

I don’t know why they are calling this “original” since it is nothing like the original formula. I used No-Poo and other Deva products exclusively for about 10 years and loved the brand. Then a couple of years ago, I noticed that there was a slightly different smell to the No-Poo & the product seemed to go bad after a short while and cause skin irritation for me and my kiddos.

I compared labels from some older travel bottles a year or so ago, and the ingredients were the same, so most likely it was just a different formula or fragrance. I stopped using around that time because the irritation was causing my hair to thin.

I decided to try No-Poo again after the 2021 re-brand, hoping they had realized their mistake and gone back to the original formula. But instead Deva implemented a totally new coconut based formula, which inflamed my scalp & neck so much that I only used it once.

This addition of coconut ingredients appears to be true for other rebranded Deva Products (noticeably One Condition, which I was still using without issue up until the rebrand). If you know you’re allergic to coconut-based oils or alcohols or if you have sensitive skin, you may want to skip this one.

Also, my condolences to anyone in the former group because coconut-free products (including cetearyl or stearyl alcohol) are extremely hard to find, and if you’re also sensitive to Shea or Argan or palm oils, forget it.

I’m sticking to Castile-type cleansers until I find a product line that works and doesn’t have these common allergens.

A few things about this shampoo: the scent isn’t overly floral or sweet like many shampoos. It’s a fresh and clean scent with crisp apples and pears. It’s refreshing and makes me feel soothed. The shampoo itself is different from any other shampoo I’ve ever used in that it doesn’t lather at all.

It’s a cleansing shampoo that doesn’t strip the healthy natural oils out of your hair. It does cleanse it, however, and removes the product, buildup, and excessive oils from your hair and scalp. It leaves my hair feeling clean, refreshed, softened, and moisture rich.

My curls look bouncy, shiny, and healthy. I usually have a lot of problems with frizz, especially in the summer, but using this shampoo has tamed it down dramatically. When using the shampoo in conjunction with their conditioner you have a dynamite product for your hair.

My only downside is the size of the bottle is somewhat small compared to the price. Because it doesn’t lather, you have to use more than you would traditionally use with a shampoo that lathers. Overall, it is a great purchase for me-but it may get to be expensive if you are on a budget.

I have strawberry blonde hair I bleach regularly, so squirting a ton of toning shampoo on my dry head for an hour is a regular part of my post-salon routine. I pretty much only use purple but I received a free small bottle of this and emptied it onto my roots last night while I took a 45 minute bath followed by a shower rinse.

Y’all I have NEVER used a toning shampoo that left my hair feeling nicer. Even almost 24 hours later it feels like I did a deep conditioning mask on my hair last night. I’m talking salon level softness.

Oh, and it DID effectively tone the orange out of my hair! It’s a wonderful pastel blonde now, not blue or purple but no longer noticeably warm. I will be buying this 5ever.

I love this Clarifying Shampoo. I’ve tried many before (Creme of Nature Apple Cider Rinse, Camille Rose Clean Rinse, etc), and all of those stripped the moisture from my hair and made it so dry and straw-like.

But after using Bounce Curls: Clarifying Shampoo, my hair wasn’t dry at all! It was moisturized, super soft, and had so much volume! I couldn’t keep my hands out of my hair I was so surprised. And even after I dried it with my microfiber towel it was still so soft, my hair cuticles were so smooth.

For this product you really don’t need a lot, it foams and spreads easily, and it really does clarify the scalp and remove product build-up. This product gives amazing results on my low porosity 3C-4A curls.

As soon as I got done using it, I tossed my other clarifying shampoo’s in the trash and immediately went to Bounce Curls to purchase more of this product. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

I have scalp psoriasis that is helped, but not cured, by expensive oral medication. I realized that my scalp seemed even angrier after washing my hair and started researching common trigger ingredients….

narrowed it down to propylene glycol, which is in SO MANY THINGS, including my expensive Purology shampoo and the steroid creams I was using that didn’t seem to help. It was really difficult to find a shampoo that was curly safe and didn’t have PG.

This shampoo has literally changed my life. The scent is divine, it actually seems to calm my red itchy scalp spots, and it really cleans my hair without that dried-out tangly feel. And I don’t have to scrub for 15 minutes to get clean.

It’s truly a spa experience and I am so grateful Bounce Curl did their research on these ingredients. Please don’t ever change the formula!!.

I have been using this shampoo for a little over two months now, and the change in my hair has been fantastic! I use this to wash two to three times a week, and follow-up with the super smooth cream conditioner.

I have also been using the hair detox mask once per month, with deep conditioner. Since using this shampoo, my curls have gained more definition, life, and shine. My 2c/3a hair has been COMPLETELY transformed by the Bounce Curl Products, and I am more comfortable washing my hair more often.

This shampoo leaves my roots without build-up, adding great volume to my hair after each wash. It does not leave the hair feeling dry, but rather leaves it feeling soft – the perfect precursor to detangling once conditioner is in.

This shampoo has reviews all over the place bc everyone’s hair is different and seems to react differently to products. For me and for my both my scalp and my curls, this shampoo was not the one. It left my scalp super itchy and my curls just sort of hung there.

I thought the problem was me, so I used my whole bottle and tried dozens of different methods and schedules of washing, different ways to dry after, different conditioners, gels, etc. , but it just didn’t work for me.

It might have been overly perfumes and causing allergic issues with my scalp, not sure why it left my scalp so itchy, and it definitely dried out my hair, even with conditioners and deep conditioners and the whole nine yards.

My suggestion: if you have curly haired friends, or find a travel size of this bottle, try it a couple times before you buy your own bottle. It’s frustrating to waste a product bc it isn’t working for your hair.

My Hair Is Wavy And Not Super Dry But This Feels Very Conditioning And Helps Tame Frizz. I Use This As A Regular Rinse Out Conditioner And Comb My Hair While It’s In. The Smell Is Nice But Fairly Subtle.

Personally, I Do Not Like This For A Cowash Or A Leave In As It Is Too Heavy For My Hair, So Thats Why I Only Gave 4 Stars. I Use About 3 Or 4 Pumps For My Thick Hair That Is About 4 Inches Longer Than My Collarbones.

I Have Had This Bottle For Over 6 Months And It Is Still About 1/3 Full, But I Only Use It Once Or Twice A Week. I Mixed About 10 Pumps With My Purple Semi Permanent Hair Color Once And Really Enjoyed That.

I know it’s been a super long while since I posted, but that’s because I’ve been testing a lot of products to share! Today I’m going to share my thoughts on the Not Your Mothers Curl Talk Line!Lately, I’ve been using the shampoo, 3-in-1 conditioner, and curl defining cream.

All 3 products have Rice Curl Complex-a blend of rice, keratin amino acids, and enzymes to hydrate, condition, protect, and enhance curl retention. This is a nice protein-moisture balance but I could definitely see the need for the protein-free curl masque to prevent going too far to the protein side.

As far as fragrance goes, I’m happy to report that unlike many in the curly girl approved world, the scent on these products is light, floral, and non-irritating to those who are scent sensitive. The price-point on these is also super nice though not as affordable as my old stand by Hello Hydration from Herbal Essences which is.

30 an ounce. The Not Your Mother’s will set you back about. 70 an ounce for the shampoo and conditioner. That said the HE line is now no longer CGM approved and they changed the formulation to the point that I can’t use it anymore.

A similar quality product from SheaMoisture is roughly. 92 per ounce and overall this is a very affordable and readily available option.

Let me start off by saying I have extremely thick hair, it’s wavy between 2b 2c. So overall pretty manageable but it can get very frizzy, it has a lot of volume and a mind of its own when it comes to cowlicks and how things are going to fall and stay.

My mom used to keep it cut hella short like a boy when I was younger so as an adult I take a lot of pride in my hair and do lots with it. Meaning it’s been thru chemical treatment, heat treatments, colors, etc.

Then I got tired of upkeep and having hair like straw for the last year I have letting it grow out naturally. Since doing so I had an extremely hard time finding a shampoo, conditioner and leaving conditioner or hair oil/ serum that would work for me.

I tried dozens of products and I’m talking expensive ones all the way down to cheap stuff. The only thing I had found and could settle on was a new product by Marc Anthony called Grow Long. When I did find that product finally after years of searching I was very outspoken and vocal about it.

I told pretty much everyone that had hair about it, including that it is affordable and Walgreens always has a sale on it. I also need something to treat the scalp skin as I have psoriasis at the base of my skull and under my hair.

It’s mostly under control as I use RX product on it, don’t want to mix the two. I normally go through conditioner at least twice as fast as I would go through shampoo with any product. with this conditioner I can add about two small dime size spots of conditioner to my hair and be mostly good, I am a bit more until my hair feels completely saturated because I spoil myself and even after rinsing an out you can feel how quickly the product work because your hair feels amazing.

I’ve gotten so many compliments people asking me what I did with my hair and even to me and pictures. it will shinier and healthier. It feels better. it doesn’t seem as dry. I can rush through it very easily.

It smells good all the time and the shampoo and conditioner last at least twice as long as my regular products do so. like many other products from influenster, I think I may be a convert to the Maui line.

I had actually previously used this product before and did not have a good experience, but that was a long time ago and I thought I’d give it another try. I don’t know what it is in this product that is so extremely irritating to my scalp, but I simply cannot use it.

I will say the conditioner is slightly less irritating than the shampoo but they’re extremely similar. It smells super sweet and amazing it’s probably my favorite scent of any hair care product I’ve used but there is some ingredient that does agree well with my scalp.

I would say the conditioner is moisturizing and it does make your hair feel nice once dry. I have wavy hair and it did benefit that hair type. It is silicon free (the only real difference compared to the shampoo), vegan, uses pure aloe and coconut water.

No mineral oil, silicones, parabens, gluten, sulfated surfactants, synthetic dyes or ALES. It is for all hair types. You apply to wet hair, work through to the ends, wait 3-5 minutes and rinse. It is good for 18 months after opening and I do like how affordable and accessible this brand is.

I really wanted to like this product but it simply does not work for me which is why I gave it only 2 stars which is mostly for the amazing scent.

I have tried out several of Maui Moisture’s conditioners, and this coconut oil one is BY FAR my favorite! This conditioner has an AMAZING tropical/fruity/clean fragrance to it. It has a medium thick consistency to it, which I prefer over being too runny, or too thick making it difficult to squeeze out of the bottle.

I leave this conditioner on while I am performing the rest of my shower routine. This way I can give the conditioner enough time to soak into my freshly shampooed hair. I have pretty dry hair so this coconut oil conditioner does it wonders.

Once it has been on my hair for a sufficient amount of time high brush it out under the running water. I have very tingle prone hair but this conditioner makes detangling a breeze. After rinsing out the product I am left with silky smooth hair that smells amazing.

My mom has thick, coarse hair so I had her try out this conditioner as well. She too was left with beautiful, silky hair after using this conditioner! I have wavy hair and this conditioner really brought out and defined my wave pattern.

I think this would be a lovely conditioner for others with wavy to curly hair. I am absolutely satisfied with this conditioner, and I will be repurchasing. Highly recommend!.

I really like this shampoo. The scent is great and it foams up perfectly. My only dislike is that it makes my hair feel very stiff when I rinse it out and before I put in the conditioner. You absolutely have to condition or use something else after this, if your hair is like mine.

I have very thick, course, 3A curls. My only complaint is the price point and the fact the curly-haired shampoo/conditioner combo is not one that you can get as a kit where you can get other bonus products.

Something to think about, R+Co.

I have naturally wavy/semi curly hair that’s prone to frizz. Summer in New England wrecks havoc on my hair with the humidity. My hair dresser introduced me to cassette. It smells so nice, like all RCo products do.

After the first use, my hair is nice and soft and the frizz was reduced. I found my wave/curl pattern set easier after using both the shampoo and the conditioner together. It’s expensive but it actually works and is gentle on hair.

After months of suffering with a constant rash down my back, I finally determined it was being caused by the shampoo and conditioner I was using. I decided to switch to a vegan, all natural shampoo and conditioner and have been more than happy with the Cassette Curl Defining Shampoo.

Not only has my rash cleared up, but the shampoo is gentle and nourishing to my very curly hair. It is also quite concentrated so a little goes a long way.

The first thing I noticed upon opening this conditioner is the soft coconut water and subtle citrus scent. The scent is balanced. This conditioner is super light-weight and gentle. My hair tends to like a medium thick consistency when it comes to conditioner.

That way it’s easier for me to detangle and give my hair the extra moisture it needs. Although this wasn’t the best match for me, I think this would be perfect for fine curl heads that want a light-weight conditioner that isn’t going to weigh curls/waves down.

I’m giving this product a 4 out of 5 stars because I like how gentle the scent is. As someone that is sensitive to scents and fragrance, I appreciate how soft and subtle the scent is. I would’ve given this conditioner a five out of five stars if it were more moisturizing.

I think this shampoo and it’s partner conditioner would work better on someone with fine curls hence it being a product for fine curls. I’ve noticed how the affordable options are limited when it comes to fine curls.

They’re either too thick, weigh down curls/waves, are too fragrant etc. I think this duo could be IT for someone else! Disclaimer: I have type 3b/3c hair and have been natural for three years. My hair is color-treated.

Although my hair is thin, it isn’t fine. I tried this product for the course of three weeks to really see how the product works along with it’s partner conditioner and followed with my leave-in.

DO NOT GET THIS!! I got it as it was recommended by a friend. The first week or so my hair was stunning! Perfect waves, shiny, not greasy, beautiful volume, and everything else you could ask for! But, I noticed my hair started falling out in bigger chunks than usual.

I shrugged it off thinking it was nothing. Like a week or so later, a HUMONGOUS chunk of hair came out of my head i’m the shower and I honestly thought my dog got into the shower or something. I’m not sure if it was the shampoo or conditioner (both this brand) but to stay safe, don’t get either.

BTW, I have not used any other product so it could not have been anything else. I’ve had such healthy hair up until now!.

I received this product for free from @Influensterca @OGX_beauty in exchange for my honest review! For context, I have wavy hair, with medium level thickness (not thick or thin) I usually wash my hair 3/week so I don’t dry out my hair.

This is a pretty light weight shampoo. It moisturizes my wavy hair without weighing it down. After 2 uses I got the hang of this shampoo because it didn’t lather up as much as I expected it to. I use a generous yolk size amount for my short hair make sure my hair is completely wet before rubbing it in.

I like it like that as it lathers and cleans my hair pretty well. I’ve been using it in tandem with their conditioner and I’ve noticed my hair being more hydrated and voluminous. The product also smelt like Pina colada, which I loved! It’s this wonderful tropical coconut scent that’s not overwhelming or sharp.

I also think the $10 price point is fantastic and super affordable. I also had my little sister (more thin straight hair) try this and she liked it. She isn’t a huge fan of coconut scents but she liked this shampoo because the scent wasn’t overwhelming.

I love the OGX brand, so I was really excited to receive the OGX coconut milk shampoo and conditioner to try. These came at a great time because I am definitely in the market to try some new hair washing products.

What I was previously using just wasn’t holding up to the level of moisture my hair needed in all the heat and humidity of summer. The Coconut Milk shampoo by OGX is intensely hydrating, maybe TOO hydrating.

(Be. Careful what you wish for, right?) Overall, the thick shampoo does a great job at adding moisture to my hair and nourishing it at the same time. I loved the subtle coconut smell, and it is definitely perfect for summer vibes.

However, the over-hydration is a bit intense for my thin hair, and I think it tends to look thinner with multiple uses. For this reason, I have been using the coconut milk shampoo on rotation with other shampoos to offer balance.

I reach for this about once a week or every two weeks- particularly when my hair is begging for moisture. If that’s what you’re going for, you’ve founder a winner in OGX’s coconut milk shampoo and conditioner!.

I liked this conditioner because of how soft it made my hair feel out of the shower on my natural hair. The parts that were bleached before definitely need more TLC but nothing a little oil can’t fix.

If I were using this on my natural straight black hair, then it would be completely fine. However for the bleached ends, I need another product to help supplement that needed moisture. However I liked how voluminous my hair was after washing.

Usually because I need to moisturize the dry ends, my hair is flat and boring. With the shampoo and conditioner duo, I have fluffy and voluminous hair. The only negative thing I would say about this condition and the shampoo is the coconut scent is really strong.

It makes sense why it would smell like coconuts but I found the scent to be very overwhelming when I was using the product. Overall if you can get past the scent, the shampoo and conditioner work great together!.

This OGX Nourishing + Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner is the BEST shampoo/conditioner I have ever used, and I have tried so many different shampoos and conditioners to help with my dry, frizzy, thick hair.

My hair gets so dried out from most shampoo/conditioner even ones that claim to moisturize my hair. so I cannot help but be a little skeptical when it comes to putting products in my hair. My hair is down my back, curly, dry, thick, and very frizzy.

most tend to dry my hair even more. I had never tried OGX products before but now thanks to Home Testers Club I will ONLY use OGX! First off this stuff smells amazing. Doesn’t take a lot of product to lather my hair either, the conditioner and shampoo a small amount goes a long way.

My hair was so soft and manageable after first use. I have never seen my hair so shinny after a wash. Where has OGX been hiding my whole life? This is honestly a blessing to my hair, to be able to run a brush through my hair after washing without tangles.

I received this Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Shea Curl Defining Conditioner from Briogeo. This conditioner is excellent for my dry, wavy/curly and frizzy hair. This conditioner really leaves my hair moisturized without weighing it down or feeling greasy.

My hair feels soft and silky, and my waves/curls are looking more defined. After washing my hair, I apply the conditioner to my hair and go through my hair with my fingers to apply it evenly from roots to ends.

I then rinse my hair. It is easy to rinse the conditioner out of my hair without leaving any residue. The conditioner moisturizes my hair and tames my frizz and defines my waves/curls without weighing my hair down.

My hair feels soft, looks shiny and healthy. I love the light fragrance of this conditioner. It is so luxurious. After using this conditioner, it is easy to comb through my hair without any tangles and it is easy to style my hair.

I love that this product is vegan, cruelty-free and gluten-free. I really recommend this conditioner when you have frizzy and wavy, curly hair.

Standing in the shower, on the first wash, my hair definitely didn’t feel clean. The Curl Charisma didn’t remove any of the products I had previously used during the week. Using a cleansing shampoo, I was able to get rid of any buildup.

Then, I shampooed again with the Curly Charisma. It is a very thin shampoo and doesn’t suds up (which I was kind of disappointed with after my first/second wash). Finally, I was ready for the Curly Charisma conditioner.

It’s thick and creamy. Worked through my hair and let it sit while was washed. Honestly, my hair may not have been in need of the rice amino and avocado hydration the shampoo and conditioner claim they have.

My curls weren’t limp by any stretch of the imagination but I felt like they were at vivacious and voluminous as always. I only purchased the 8oz. bottles. So, I may try again but I won’t feel bad if I end up tossing.

For context, I live in Utah (dry climate) and have very curly blonde hair. Love the Curly Charisma Co-wash. On the fence about the Curly Charisma shampoo and conditioner.

The only thing good about this, for me, is the smell. This is just not a good conditioner IMO. I have long, thick hair. I do not use heat of any kind, deep condition regularly, and get regular trims.

All the stores around me stopped selling my HG, so I thought I’d give this a try. I knew immediately I didn’t like it (hair felt drier, more coarse frizzy, *super* tangly), but I wasn’t going to let it go to waste.

After 2 weeks of use I’ve got split ends! Everywhere! Y’all, I don’t get split ends and I just had a trim about 3 weeks before starting use. So, I’m going for a cut tomorrow and throwing the rest of this out! Sorry OGX.

This is the third OGX product I tried and another disappointment. I have medium curly hair (as in not too fine and not too thick) not too oily nor too dry, currently dehydrated on the ends. and this shampoo made my hair feel so heavy, my curls do not have any shape, crazy frizz (yes I have a microfiber towel and tried with t-shirt as well), and a greasy scalp.

I have tried shampoos with sulfate that shape my curls even more and they don’t leave this mess. I’m happy it works for other people. I personally think the smell of OGX products are too strong for my liking and I get sick of that really fast.

Before that, I tried Coconut Milk and argan oil and all of them had the same effect with minor differences that were not positive as well. Coconut milk worked better in shaping my curls but still left these greasy heavy frizzy vibes all over.

Their air-dry curl styler is the only OGX product I liked so far.

I brought this product for a cheaper alternative. I was really disapointed with the results and damage ir had done to my hair. It made me lose hair, made my hair dry and frizzy. Although it smells nice its completly ruined my curls and turned them back to frizz.

Not a good product. Shea moistuer is amazing!! It is just quite expensive! However it nutures your curls and revitlize them in the long-term.

This shampoo is okay, but not great. It smells great, and cleans the products out of my hair very nicely. I originally purchased this shampoo when I decided to break up with my flat iron and embrace my naturally curly hair.

It did initially work well and I felt my curls were shaped nicely but still soft and bouncy. But after a few weeks my curls were weighed down stringy and lifeless. Some research into the needs of curly hair helped me to discover that some of the ingredients in this shampoo are not ideal for naturally curly hair.

If OGX decides to release a reformulation of this product without silicones or alcohols I would certainly be first inline to try it; but for now It’s just not the right shampoo for me.

Now I know it’s not made to be a leave in conditioner but it’s actually the best one I’ve ever used. I have my shower and even with conditioning my hair in the shower using another conditioner my hair could use some more moisturizing.

This gives my hair so much moisture and it stays the whole day. My hair doesn’t need any curl creams this keeps the hair shiny soft and non frizzy the whole day and honestly I’m obsessed. If only it was slightly cheaper and easier to find in stores because I love it and it would be perfect.

In this discussion, I will now review the Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight/Dream Detangler Jelly-To-Cream Conditioner (with Rose Water and Glycerin). The conditioner has the appearance and feel of a softened and slightly liquified version of petroleum jelly.

Additionally, the product has a slick texture and it is minimally greasy to the touch. The conditioner has a pleasant rose scent and the smell of the product is strong but not overpowering. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this conditioner.

I feel that product does not provide a great deal of moisture when applied to the hair, however, it would be inaccurate to say that the product is completely devoid of moisture. I feel that the conditioner superficially sits on top of the hair instead of fully penetrating and moisturizing the hair strands.

I have fine, kinky and coily hair that is slightly prone to dryness and unfortunately this conditioner provided minimal moisture; also, it was slightly drying to the hair. My young adult daughter (who has a looser hair texture with hair also slightly prone to dryness) tried the both shampoo and conditioner and she had the same complaints regarding the dryness of the products.

On the plus side, my hair felt slightly softer (and more manageable) after using and rinsing out the conditioner. I feel that conditioner pairs well with Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight/Love At First Wash Water-To-Foam Shampoo (with Rose Water) due the shampoo’s propensity (in my opinion) to dry out the hair.

This conditioner might appeal to individuals who prefer “natural” products, because the conditioner bottle indicates that the product has “no parabens, no petroleum, no mineral oil, and no artificial colors”.

The product is also touted as a “vegan formula-no animal derived ingredients” on the label. If you are an individual who prefers penetrating conditioners products that provide a lot of moisture, this is not the product for you.

However, this conditioner might be a good choice for individuals looking for a rinse-out conditioner that detangles, slightly moisturizes and softens the hair.

I have type 4, VERY low porosity, hair. When I first went natural several years ago I struggled getting hydration into my hair, which resulted in no curl definition. I thought it was normal for 4c hair to not be defined.

Over the years I learned more, I did the Max Hydration Method for years only to eventually learn that, chemically, it wasn’t good for the hair. I ditched the MHM when I FOUND THIS PRODUCT! Turns out for MY hair type, all I needed was to strip everything off my hair in order to get hydrated defined curls! (Not everyone needs this, hence the bad reviews) Now, my wash routine is soo quick and easy.

I only spend 5-10 minutes detangling after using this shampoo. And everyone comments on my hair now, wondering how I can have such tiny defined curls. This product is what I’ve been needing my whole life!!.

This is a value for money product. Everyone in my family has different hair types with different needs. My husband is grey, thining and suffers from dandruff. My son fine, tight curly hair, with allergy issues.

And myself tight kinky curly hair, needs a deep cleans that doesn’t strip hair completel! Each of us use it with different frequency. We recently changed to another brand of shampoo and conditioner and had to return to this one simply because it serves us all very well and we haven’t got any problems with anything ingredients.

If you have been thinking about! Just do it. You won’t be disappointed! A large bottle will last us up to 8months. With covid , it is welcome relief that we don’t have to worry about our hair. NHS WORKERS!.

Initially I reviewed the product after 30 days of the trial. But, after using it for more than six consecutive months (I have medium porosity 2c-3b curls), I started to get a really oily patch on my scalp, but lower down my hair was ok.

And I was not using any other products. A little confused I did some research and realized that I live in a hard water area. I had to buy a additional chelating shampoo which is fine, but in the long run will end up being very expensive.

Having chelating shampoo helped clear the oily patch. Also with my hair I noticed that the curl cream, not sure why leaves ‘dandruffy’ little flakes on my scalp (p. s. I don’t have dandruff). So overall for my hair, the curl gel and conditioner I felt were the best products out of the four suggested for curly hair.

I do however, love the smell and the fact that the bottles are more ethical than other companies. I know everyone is different and water would also be different, which doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone else with curly hair like mine would have the same effects.

I just leant that there’s no one fits all.

I bought this and the Curl Conditioner for my young daughters curly hair that recently has seemed a little more wavy and limp than her usual wild curls. It smells gorgeous, fresh and citrusy but not overpowering.

The product itself is creamy and light in texture as opposed to the more usual heavy and rich shampoo’s more commonly used. I’ve found that a lot of product is needed to cover all the hair since this shampoo doesn’t lather but it’s easy enough to use.

The result in conjunction with the conditioner is lovely soft, bouncy, shiny, hydrated hair. My daughters finer hair is definitely a lot less limp using these products. However, because so much of the cleanser is required it doesn’t last long and I do wonder if it’s worth the money?! That said, I’ll likely continue to use these products knowing that they’re clean.

Hair background: I have medium to high density hair. My hair is medium porosity type 4a natural hair. Product: This conditioner has a thick consistency. it is white and has a very pleasent scent. in terms of the packaging I wish it was bigger because you tend to use more conditioner than shampoo as a curly girl.

so I would change the packaging to be bigger and also an upside down packaging to help with product flow. Product on natural hair: Not sure if it is safe for color treated hair. However it worked well on my un-color treated hair.

This conditioner is not as conditioning as other conditioners which is the main reason why I rated it as I did. it absorbs very well into my dehydrated hair but it didnt condition it well. It also did not have alot of slip and I found detangling my hair with flowing water easier than detangling my hair with this conditioner.

it is an overall ok conditioner for natural hair but it needs a follow up leave in conditioner. I have attached a photo of my hair after I washed it to see. On my wigs this worked great. it wasn’t to heavy and it conditioned them well.

I tried the shampoo, conditioner, and curl cream so my review is for all 3 together. First of all, the scent!! It is the most amazing tropical coconutty scent that really lasts on your hair. The shampoo is Curly Girl approved but the other products are not, unfortunately.

This line is designed for thick curly hair but I have thin slightly wavy hair, so understand that my review is coming from that perspective. The shampoo lathered up really nicely but didn’t feel like it was stripping my hair.

It’s sulfate free so I’m not sure where the lather was coming from but I loved it! The conditioner and curl cream had really good slip and helped me form great clumps. Because my hairs are thin, I chose to put the cream on soaking wet hair and scrunched most of it out (I believe the directions say to use it on towel dried hair).

I finished off with mousse and was left with a great cast that scrunched out beautifully. While I’m a little concerned about the non curly girl approved ingredients, overall this is an awesome line and such a steal!! Very happy!.

I was excited to try a new curl enhancing product. I have curl type 2a that usually takes well to a lighter product. This product felt heavy and oily. Once I rinsed it out throughly it still felt as if there was a heaviness and oiliness left in my hair.

The fragrance was a very strong coconut smell. Though it didn’t smell bad, it was completely overpowering and sweet smelling. As I continued to add to my hair from this line of product, the fragrance only got stronger, and the product only felt heavier and greasier.

I would say if you love a heavily fragranced product and have a curlier curl type (maybe coarser hair and more of a ringlet curl) this product may work well for you. For me with fine hair and a more “delicate” curl type, this product weighed down my hair and wasn’t very effective.

That with the overpowering fragrance I will be sticking with my current line of product. For now, I’ll be walking around smelling like Malibu Barbie until my next wash day.

I received this product for free from Influenster and Maui Moisture in exchange for my honest review. Firstly, this smells amazing! Both the shampoo and conditioner have a clean, soapy floral scent which I find that I really enjoy.

I have low porosity medium density wavy/looser curly hair and I used these products for a few weeks before reviewing. My hair wasn’t weighed down and did feel hydrated and cleansed! I do think this could work for all hair types (my brother has very thick, tight curly hair and he used it) , but I did notice my hair shed a lot more and tangled after shampooing and drying.

I really enjoyed the matching conditioner though! I do think it could work for a wide variety of people but if you have hair that is really dry or otherwise needs heavier hydration or protein, I’m not sure this is the best shampoo/conditioner if you don’t also use a leave-in, etc.

! For the price, I think it’s a great option for so many people, I think it’s definitely worth picking up and trying! Maui Moisture has so many products that are great to pair with these products or use instead of you find these aren’t for you!.

While this product didn’t work for me, there is a happy ending to my tale so I’m still giving this lovely conditioner 5 stars. I bought this curly hair product for my straight hair simply hoping to add a boost of moisture to my hair while also thinking that the conditioner’s scent would smell good.

The smell is divine – the soft coconut and other refreshing scents recalls memories of soft white sand, warm ocean water, and relaxation. I felt like my shower had turned into a tropical oasis. My hair felt so soft, moisturized, and silky.

This conditioner smoothed beautifully into my hair and spread easily to coat each strand in moisturizing goodness. As I washed it out, I could feel my hair detangle effortlessly between my fingers. Unfortunately, it was around this time that I started to feel a burning sensation on my scalp.

After I finished rinsing, I checked my scalp in the mirror – red, irritated patches had appeared on my scalp where I had accidentally rubbed some of the product into my skin. This is not uncommon for me, sadly – I have very easily irritated skin! Just to make sure, I rubbed a tiny amount of conditioner into the skin of my inner elbow as a test.

An angry red patch appeared minutes later. My skin clearly disagreed with something in the ingredients. I gave the conditioner to my sister to try and she loves it – she says it makes her hair beautifully shiny and soft, and her skin isn’t bothered in the slightest by the product.

This conditioner will be pure heaven for someone who doesn’t have skin as sensitive as mine. I’m so sad that I can’t use this conditioner (curse my sensitive skin!), but I’m thrilled that it’s working so well for my sister.

This shampoo and conditioner is the best I’ve ever used. My hair is baby fine, curly, easily frizzy, and easily weighed down by hair products. This stuff works. I have an oily scalp and because my hair is fine and high porosity, I have to wash it daily.

I shampoo every day with this, it’s cleansing enough to clean my hair and scalp but never drying. I let the conditioner sit for 2 minutes. My hair has body, curl definition, and no frizz. Love this stuff and it smells pleasantly like fake bananas while wet.

I can’t smell it on my hair once it’s dry. I wish I’d had this all my life. It’s such a perfect balance. It never weighs my hair down, which is rare for fine hair. You don’t need too much of the conditioner.

I actually go through the shampoo faster, which never happens.

The revitalizing shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair so soft and shiny. I have 2b waves but this gives me 2a beach waves with some frizz day one. It looks pretty. But at the end of the day my hair falls straight and the next day I’ve lost all my waves.

This is without stylers. It does weigh my hair down a bit and that’s why I lose my waves. Smells really good and I’m still really shocked it makes my hair so shiny and so soft! Especially since there are no silicones and no polyquats in this line.

The conditioner bottles are way too small, I’m am a heavy handed conditioner user and this would get really expensive to do a 2-1 ratio or 3-1 ratio of conditioners per shampoo. So I don’t know I’m the long run.

With shampoo a little goes a long way.

I discovered RizosCurls earlier this year and was excited to learn about their “curl love is self love” philosophy. I received their Rizos Reina Box for my birthday and from then on continued using their products (most frequently the shampoo/conditioner).

I loved the way it made my curls soft, hydrated, and bouncy. I recommended it to my sister a couple of months ago and we used it simultaneously for around 2-3 months. For some time now ( I can’t pinpoint exactly when that’s why it was so difficult for me to name these products as the culprits) I’ve noticed increasing hair loss.

I blamed it on everyday stress, changes in diet, and even the weather. I went back to check the reviews RizosCurls received on Ulta randomly and noticed that some had written about hair loss. I mentioned this offhand to my sister a couple of weeks ago and that’s when she told me she’d started to notice hair loss too.

Immediately, I stopped using these products and bought a different shampoo. Since then, I have noticed the excessive hair loss stop. I’m disappointed and hurt that this brand I loved so much ended up causing me bigger problems than I originally had.

I don’t know how many of their products I can trust. Did it give me the illusion of soft, healthy, and moisturized hair? Yes. Are the newly discovered bald spots worth it? Never.

The creator is Julissa Prado, an LA native and Hispanic woman who is killin it! Her products are plant based and made with good ingredients that also smell super great.

I cannot praise these enough. I have everything pictured— the shampoo and conditioner, leave-in conditioner, cream, and gel. I also use her flexi-brush and her blow dryer diffuser attachment that is collapsible for easy transport.

She released new scalp oils and masks that are definitely on my “to buy” list. I used Rizos products for about two years, they started my love for my curly hair and made me see the potential of my curls. But after about a year of using it I had so much buildup on my scalp and my scalp was so sore.

I started clarifying my hair but it would always get worse. I would also have SO much shedding in the shower but thought it was normal until my thick hair got pretty thin. (I’ve ALWAYS had thick hair) I switched to a different shampoo and I noticed way less shedding and my scalp wasn’t sore anymore.

So I stopped using this and my hair is getting thicker again. I never thought this product would cause my hair to have so many issues until i heard others saying the same thing. It makes me sad because of how much I loved this at the time but I hated how thin my hair was and how bad my scalp hurt.

I’ve tried using it from time to time since I stopped and I get the same results. Skip this and just get the conditioner. It is actually worth the money.
