We’re a new group of d&d players, and having the cards to hand for our characters classes are a HUGE help! It makes spell casting so much quicker in game than having to look up the page in the PHB for every spell, or referring back to the multiple sheets of printed off spells for each characters class.

We’re intending to collect them all alongside the manuals.

These are such a great resource for any Warlock, Wizard, or Sorcerer character in D&D. It makes selecting and reviewing spells so much easier and they are very durable with being laminated. Highly recommend.

This game ticks all boxes in my opinion: 1. The actual gameplay and mechanics- phenomenal 2. As a Collectable- cold foils (1st ed only). extended art. Rainbow foil legendary. need I say more. This game generally is VERY good to open! Investment: (NOT advice) looking at the community growth and The performance of LSS.

I think this game will be around for a long time to come. It is certainly attractive option for investmen for me Would recommend this and all other FAB sets to any collectors TCG players. Especially 1st edition of the various sets, due to chances at the beautiful cold foil Fabled through to common cards.

Arc Rising was announced as going out of print. Most shops would spike prices with fair reason in business. Here to tell you they stayed true to the locals, and I grabbed 2 boxes to round out my collection and was pleased! I look forward to growing the community in all games as this shop is literally around the corner! Finally Fay-Manlius has a lgs, and I think only amazing things will come from it!.

If you’re into Magic the Gathering, you’ll love Mage Wars Arena. If you hate Magic the Gathering, you’ll still love Mage Wars Arena. It has the deck building aspects of Magic, but adds a board game grid design, which makes it unique I think.

You decide which cards gets to be included in your Mage’s book of spells before the game begins, and then decide which two cards to play against your adversary every turn. Tons of fun, and the cards themselves are beautiful.

Be warned, this is an intense game in terms of strategy, options, etc. The rule book is quite detailed, and does highlight instructions/recommendations for beginners, but highly recommend you watch Arcane Wonder’s “how to play” video series.

Another option is playing Mage Wars Academy, which is a bit simpler, but every bit as fun.

Mage Wars Arena, is definitely going to appeal to those of use who were (are) Magic the Gathering players. What separates Mage Wars from MTG, is first and foremost. It’s not a collectible card game, it has a physical board, and you technically do not have a deck, but rather a book containing your entire customized selection of cards.

Mage Wars gives you feel of a ccg (collectible card game), but without the need to buy boosters all the time. The depth of this game may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but with a bit of time and practice it is definitely worth it.

Great head-to-head game with a lot of depth. Easy to learn, lots of combs, with an average game length. Beats Warhammer, that’s for sure!

I bought this to go along with the Dungeon of the Mad Mage board game. I was lucky to only have 2 duplicate figures in the entire bunch, which also wasn’t a big deal for me because in the board game there are multiple miniatures that are present with more than just one copy.

Obviously these boosters have more than just what is included in the board game which is why I think they work well for any collector.

This set has a good variety of figures which all have great sculpts and decent paint jobs. This set includes huge minis as well, which is great since many of the prior sets only had large minis.

I purchased this as well as the board game to have a lot of the minis from this set. I also purchased the hard book and the map pack with extra stuff. I really like this set and the models are pretty cool.

I got a balor which is what I really wanted because the death tyrant comes in the standard board game edition. If you buy a brick of this and have the board game you will most likely have a close to complete set of things.

I wish this could have been a good box. As much of a d&d nerd as I am, getting pulled into magic the gathering by this exact set, it failed in a lot of expectations: the art, or in most cases the brown edged “showcase” arts, the mechanics they introduced but left lackluster in their complexity and the quantity needed to make it viable, or very heavily for these boxes for some reason more than others, the “randomness” of the packs.

Too often would I get a copy of a card, only to flip the next card over and have the SAME card but as a holofoil now, made me feel like a hella holo-fool. If you didn’t know, always know you need to buy singles and not waste chances on a lottery system like this.

The only good thing that came from this is that people don’t enjoy this set in the meta, so the singles are comparatively cheaper (exceptions are made for the cards that aren’t tied down to venturing into the dungeon or rolling dice).

I’d read dozens of reviews about booster sets and comparisons between draft boosters and the like so I had a pretty good idea what to expect with this item, and after opening all 30 packs I was more than satisfied.

Don’t know that I got more or less than average of the “good” cards and duplicates weren’t too numerous so overall I’m very satisfied. I placed all the cards in the set (including art cards, tokens, etc.

), doubling up the duplicates, in the Ultra Pro Eclipse 9-pocket binder and it’s perfect for salivating over my newly-acquired cardboard. Will probably acquire a couple more booster sets after this experience.

Forgotten Realms is a great set with a lot of fun new cards and abilities all based on D&D. I would definitely recommend getting set boosters over draft boosters: while there are less cards per pack, you tend to get far more uncommons and rares in a set booster which is both more entertaining to open and will help you put together a better deck in the long run.

We love this game – it took a while to learn and get our heads around, but it’s been a real friend to us during lockdown. Typical games now last around 3 – 4 hours (with two players), depending on which scenario we use.

There are quite a lot of rules and the rulebooks aren’t the most user-friendly, but that allows for a richness and complexity in the game that we really appreciate. It’s a deck-building game that can be played competitively or co-operatively, and that works well both ways.

While occasionally you might get a bit stuck holding the wrong cards on your turn, there are usually options for interesting things to do, a strong fantasy theme and plenty of fun ways to have adventures, build a powerful deck and forge your own strategic path towards the goals of the scenario.

Not an easy game and not one for beginners, but we found it well worth the effort and have been playing it frequently since we got it six months ago.

Loved this game so much fun and tons of decisions. So of the younger members of our game group didn’t like some of the down time waiting on their next turn but they still had fun. Long game but definitely worth it if you like heavier games.

Don’t mind the person who left a one star review. This game is great! Best played solo or with another person. Don’t use the rulebook to play, use it as a refrence. Use the walkthrough as it helps out so much more.

Extremely new CCG from New Zealand, the cards stock is amazing, packaging is very professional especially now that Arcane Rising shrink wrap has the Legend Studio insignia. Foils dont curl like magic cards, full foils are beautiful and cold foils are truly intriguing.

The gameplay was made by tcg players for tcg players so learning is fast and easy. I highly recommend this product for anyone who loves games. Only thing I can say negative is this isnt for all ages as the art on some cards has gore and graphic violence.

Great game. You should play it. You should ask your LGS to carry it. Fun cards, and a few extremely rare cards that are worth $$. Its fun to open, exciting to chase down those rare cards

The game-play for these new heroes is quite different from the first set’s, and a lot of fun. I’m really liking this tcg so far, lets hope they keep it up! Purchasing experience through collector store continues to impress with excellent packing and shipping.

Not many times i buy an expansion that i like so much i refuse to play the base game without it. This is one of those times. It just adds so much to the game that going back to the basic game would just seem bland.

And really your’e getting two expansions here for the price. Great value. Not much else i can say. If you like Lords this is a MUST buy.

We really enjoy this one. It’s a very nice production. This is a game of a few simple strategies, but a complex enactment of them. Build your stacks, but don’t go too far with any one, or you’ll surely lose.

Keep all the stacks even and you’ll suffer the same fate. Balance your skills, but maintain focus on one of them to win. It’s a wonderful puzzle with just enough hidden information to keep it difficult to know how well you’re competing at any given time.

Senshi is a light, easy game to play, but there wasn’t a lot of desire to play it again in our group after the first play. There is no real connection between the Japanese theme on the box and the actual mechanism of the game.

There is no real feeling of a winning strategy when played. So, a very simple game, yet lacking in more interesting features like a theme. The game includes one board for each of four players on which you are trying to create stacks of four different plastic chips which are the same color.

Neither the plastic chips nor the board feel high quality. The goal of the game is to have the tallest stack of the same chip while avoiding have the smallest stacks of chips. The player with the smallest stack is eliminated at the end the game and the one with the tallest stack wins.

There are some interesting points to the game because your actions are entirely dependent on those of your competitors. For example, when you take a chip from your hand and place it into your scoring pile (the stack of the same chips), every other player takes all of the chips of that color from the stacks on their board and places them into their scoring piles.

So you have to be careful that the moves you make do not help the other players to win. This is a game that I might pull out once when new players come over on game night as a warm up for a game that has a more weight.

Like a snack before the meal. Not that this is a bad game, it is just that it doesnt have enough going for it to make me want to play it over and over.

Players: 2-4 Play time: between 15-20min Ages: I’d say 8+ THEME — No theme at all. This is an abstract game where you are collecting chips of different colors. that is it. Any attempt at theme is wasted as it plays no part in this game.

GAMEPLAY One stack is hidden in your hand. Then on your turn you will: 1. Study = take a stack and add it to your board 2. Train = take the top tile from a stack on your board, an opponent’s board, or from the draw pile.

3. Play a tile from your hand = whatever color you play in that colored spot, then the other players showing the same color could also move it down. When the last stack is gone in the middle, then the game ends and scoring happens.

Player with lowest stacks is eliminated. Player with the largest stack(s) is the winner. COMPONENTS + Good artwork. + Even though there are four different colors, which may cause some colorblind people challenges, there are at least symbols on each colored tile.

— Cheap plastic “tiles”. Yes, makes it easy to stack, but they don’t feel like there is much substance there and that is the main component of the game. LUCK/STRATEGY Some randomness at the start with how the tiles are stacked, but nothing that will give anyone a lead, which is good in that it is fairly balanced.

Strategy is medium, since there are lots of decisions to make and you have to pay attention to block others by taking from their stack. REPLAYABILITY So-so. Each game is a different attempt to do the same things.

Yes, one game I may be focused on Red and another game focused on both Green and Blue, but I’m doing the same things. Building up my stacks, avoiding being the lowest in any stack, and taking from the stacks of others when possible.

+ Affordable at the time of this writing. Around $15, which isn’t bad at all for a 4-player game. OVERALL: It is a good game. It is definitely a filler game and because of that I’m giving it an extra star, since it does what it needs to do as a filler.

Unfortunately, nothing to make this memorable or stand-out from the bazillion of other games in this similiar price point and/or player count.

It contains the cards I need to start my commander dnd deck. It provides decent cards for the theme and allows me to play some preset decks for my friends who are beginners and loves dnd.

Really looking forward to trying these decks out. The modal spells seem very flexible and the dungeons and dice rolling are a fun way to augment traditional MtG gameplay with D&D flavor.

What’s not to love about the union of MTG and AD&D? It’s a match made in heaven and these commander decks are a blast to play. Can’t get enough!

Great for your collection but only buy at manufacturer’s suggested retail price. At present, anything higher is more that the total value of the cards in the box. I play blue in Magic so I wanted this collection and getting at MSRP was great.
