20 Best Costco Ready Made Meals (2023 Updated)

I have enjoyed most of the Healthy Choice meals as an inexpensive, portion-controlled worktime lunch. However, I just had a bad experience with the Grilled Chicken Pesto with Vegetables. Despite “black pepper” being listed near last in the “contains 2% or less” section of the ingredients list, the overwhelming sensation I had with this meal was black pepper, not basil pesto.

Nowhere on the front of the box is pepper or spicy or zesty or similar terms listed to indicate what to expect with this meal. My mouth is on fire from this dish. Please, please, please tell your chefs to revisit what should be the dominant flavors in basil pesto.

Black pepper overwhelmed any other flavors and registered simply as pain to me. Consider simply removing the black pepper from the recipe and let the other ingredients’ flavors speak for themselves. Outside of that issue, the meal met my expectations.

I saw someone at work preparing one of your Cafe Steamers and was I ever excited. Some people have cast iron stomachs. Mine is more like porcelain china and I recently had surgery to remove a tumor in my small intestines so I have to be even more careful.

Finally a frozen dinner that separates the sauce with all the spices from the meat and vegetables. I’ve had two of your dinners so far and they’ve been wonderful. I can heat them in the microwave without them touching the sauce and then add what little flavoring I can have to the meat and vegetables and I can have a quick meal.

I know that was not your intention when you prepared these with the sauce separate from the meal but it is an added blessing for me and I am so grateful. I can’t wait to try out some of the others as well.

As a widowed senior citizen living on a limited income, I am always on the lookout for a delicious, affordable, easy to fix microwave dinner that is healthy too. Since I love chicken, I had tried your Grilled Chicken Marinara meals several years ago but finally stopped buying them since the chicken pieces were consistently such poor quality.

However, my local grocery store recently had a great sale on Healthy Choice meals, so I decided to give the marinara chicken a try again. Unfortunately, nothing had changed – same old disgusting chunks of formed chicken goo, with perhaps a couple random pieces of real chicken meat thrown in here and there.

When I pick out and toss all the mystery meat pieces and just eat the pasta marinara and broccoli, the meal isn’t bad at all, so that is why I am even giving it two stars.

After trying this bowl for the first time a month ago, it is now in my regular rotation. Very tasty particularly the green sauce. The instructions from frozen say to cook 3:45. I cook 2:45, then mix in some extra chopped chicken and hot sauce and finish cooking the last minute.

delish. One drawback is it’s a pretty small portion for $5 retail.

The picture shows a few beans here and there. Uh no. It took me 10 minutes to fish out all the beans. The amount was ridiculous. There is absolutely no way there is more chicken than beans in this product.

After separating there was just as much beans as there was chicken, rice and corn combined. The tortilla shell came out hard on one side and chewy on the other. What a waste.

This was perfect! I not a big fan of meat. I would like to have a version of this made vegetarian. Add so peppers, onions and may be zucchini or eggplant. Would like to see a full line of vegetarian choices.

It would be great to see “Amy’s” to lose market space. Amy’s is disgusting. Not much choice out there for us vegetarians and vegans.

I really liked this and immediately bought several more. I used it as a base for a taco-y chicken bowl, and it made a great meal that way. I probably wouldn’t eat this on its own, though because it probably wouldn’t be that filling without the chicken and sour cream.

Still, it’s very good and I will gladly have this for many meals to come,.

I was delighted with these Amy’s Cheese Enchilada (Red Sauce). Its made with organic corn and tomatoes, which I think is fantastic. This enchilada sauce is perfect, which is hard to find in frozen meals; it’s either bland or too spicy.

These enchiladas are made with organic white corn tortillas, which I tend to favor. They’re filled with a mixture of Jack and Cheddar Cheeses, olives, and peppers. The dinner is gluten-free, organic, and non-GMO.

It only takes seven minutes to make in the microwave and about forty minutes in a conventional oven. The dinner is 490 calories and quite filling. Also, the packaging is made from 100% recycled material.

I recommend this enchilada dinner and will continue purchasing and eating them.

I cannot believe a negative review even exists but everyone has their own tastes. I absolutely refuse to eat at Mexican restaurants today as their quality is so poor. so I prefer Amy’s enchiladas. omg this is THE BEST enchilada ever.

you can taste the chilli pods so rich in deep flavor. simply heaven!!! Almost like a mole sauce. fantastic. I always have a box in the freezer for when the taste of something spicy hits!! Great for a single person.

I’m not a fan of the taste of these enchiladas. On the other hand, I love Amy’s Mexican Casserole Bowls. The taste of this was just a bit unappetizing and bland. I added a little salt but it didn’t do much to improve the taste.

Maybe because I’m not a fan of Mexican mole, and the sauce for this reminds me of mole. If you enjoy a slightly bitter and spicy sauce, this might be for you. I was thankfully able to finish this without any other issues noted, and it is surprisingly filling (I’m small), but I’m probably not going to be buying again.

I might just make my own enchiladas. They will most definitely not be as healthy though!.

I first discovered Amy’s brand frozen meals when I used to shop in health food stores like Whole Foods and small co-ops, but I am pleased to see that they are being sold in large chain supermarkets these days.

That makes it a lot easier for me to buy them now that they are more accessible to me. My favorite is this cheese enchilada meal that includes corn and black beans. If I’m at home and craving some Mexican food, I can just pop this in the microwave and, “Voila!!” In only a few minutes, I have something delicious to eat.

Obviously, it’s not the same as going out to eat at a restaurant, but if you’re looking for something to eat at home and it needs to be both delectable and quick, I would recommend this meal time and time again.

If you’re a fan of cheese enchiladas as much as I am, give this one a try!.

This is surprisingly very good, I keep one in my small mini fridge freezer at work as emergency food rations for days I need some kind of real tasting warm food but can’t get away. It doesn’t have that microwave meal taste or sogginess to it.

I’m pretty particular about my food texture and to my surprise each element actually had its own distinct flavor. Hopefully it remains the same for a long time. I also like the reasonable calorie count.

The only con which isn’t a deal breaker because it’s really good is price for portion. I wish it was a little bit bigger for both value and satiation reasons.

The corn was good, but the rest wasn’t. The enchilada seemed a little dry and not too tasty, but it was OK. But the black beans! They were absolutely horrible. Other people like them so it’s your call.

The seasoning in them was just repulsive to me. It must be authentic because other people seem fine with them. I used to love black beans, but I don’t know if i’ll ever dare to eat them again. I had asked someone to pick up some of Amy’s delicious cheese enchiladas for me and got this by accident.

Yuk. No doubt this is excellent, wholesome food though, like all of Amy’s stuff.

i dont care for pineapple on my food. n the pineapple. chunks i purchased from u a few weeks out were hard as heck. then the watermelon was half way up in water. naasty all slimey so i went back to having my Son grab it from Safeway.

I ‘m a beginner at prepping and Mountain House fit the bill. I wanted protein in my stock for emergencies. Seeing that it is good for 30 years I figure if I never need it I can pass it down to someone that does.

I have gone camping and tried some of their meal pouches and they were very good. The only thing about the pouches is that it says 2 servings and I could eat the whole thing. I am not a big person at 120 pounds.

Mountain House really stands out when picking up emergency food or camping. I will definitely buy again. I tell all my family and friends this is the best value of protein meals compared to any of the competition.

This is great stuff! I lead wilderness canoe and backpack treks. I’ve been using Mountain House FD Ground Beef for 15 years and it allows me make my own backcountry meals using ingredients off the store shelf (Knorr Pasta or Rice Sides, etc.

) and thus avoid the cost of the much more expensive pre-packaged FD meals. I advise letting it steep 2 minutes longer than the 9 suggested to be sure it has completely rehydrated. And watch for the rare bone fragment.

Mountain House long term foods are hands down the best in the business for taste and wholesomeness of ingredients. I have to also add that the web site is one of the few where the “notify me when. ” actually does what it says and not just grab your e-mail for marketing purposes! Refreshing.

But getting back to the first thing I spoke of, taste, while yes it’s great for camping and/or emergency food stores, it’s so tasty that my wife and I will often have their prepared meals because it’s that good!.

I saw this in the store and was excited that there were healthy options for low-carb keto type diets. I started opening the box I’m looking for the cooking instructions and there were no oven / Convection Oven instructions on the box! I was shocked this is the first time I’ve ever seen this.

I called healthy choice and they told me yes this was only tested in a microwave oven and it was not tested in a regular conventional or convection oven. I’m not sure who their test Market is, but I haven’t used a microwave in 25 years! Why would I want to spend all that money on food to destroy it with microwaves! And even in your advertising on this page you do not show anywhere that it’s microwave only, nor that it was only tested in a microwave.

Or that it says it’s not recommended to cook it in a regular normal patriotic American oven. They’re asking me below how to write the quality of this product, because it was not tested in an oven, which was the way that I cooked it, it was okay, but not great Also when I called the representative I talked to could have cared less.

I wanted her to send a message to the marketing people because the way that they’re testing the product is wrong. You should not be teaching people how to microwave food, you’re selling them great quality food and then ruining it literally in a microwave!.

I’m not one to eat frozen dinners but during covid and at work I needed something quick and simple to eat on days I didn’t cook or have any leftovers. I purchased 4 of these on sale at stop shop and was surprised at the taste, quality and price for healthy meals.

I didn’t eat this alot but when I did It always had fresh vegetables that didn’t get soggy after heating and tender juicy chicken. The Alfredo sauce is thick which I like being I’m not a big fan of it.

Long story short these recently have made their way back into my home now that my boyfriend has tried them and insist we have at least 20 around for lunch or a snack. They are filling depending on your appetite, although the bowl is a proper portion of food.

This is one of my staple frozen meals for lunch. As someone who is extremely busy during the day and has a hard time finding time to eat, much less something that is low carb and healthy, this is one of my go tos.

It is delicious, low carb, and of very good quality. The chicken doesn’t have the usual weird texture you find in frozen meals. It tastes very good. The broccoli still has a little bit of crispness that steamed fresh vegetables are supposed to have.

Sometimes I add a little grated manchego and parmesan cheeses to the sauce to give it an extra kick of flavor and thicken the sauce a little more. Highly recommend.

Brought 13 of these and 3 of the bacon/scrambled eggs along with 2lb of trail mix for a bushwhacking expedition to bubble lake via black creek drainage in the gore range. The plan was to reach the lake in 2 days, save a bag or two for the way out and see how long we could last on trout.

This stuff is awesome. A 14 hour day of rockies wilderness with 50lb pack two miles in elevation above home eating two bags of this stuff plus about a thousand calories of trail mix had me full and lakeside.

Gross but useful digestion talk: A diet of mountain house and trout didn’t effect my bowels in any negative way, and I ate about half of them with ice cold filtered water from a late snowmelt. In retrospect that may have been a lucky coincidence, if you eat exclusively these things they may loosen stool a little, normally 2 pounds of trail mix would stop a person up.

They really are not bad eaten cold. Better than the eggs. We had a bit of a party with two scientists who came over kneeknocker pass and I ate 4 of these in one night sitting with the mountain goats.

No problems! I keep twenty of them (from a great sale) along with 15lb of rice and 20 12oz cans of chicken breast as part of my emergency food stash that I can delve into without opening buckets of rice and legumes or throw in the car if I feel like a cheap road trip.

5 minutes of prep and less than 15 bucks to feed 4 people, easy to add stuff you find on trips (veggies and meats) to use as a well balanced rice stew base.

I have bought from several different companies and realized I should try some before buying more. I am stocking up for emergencies / Hurricanes. One brands protein pack is vegan. Lentils and beans. The taste was good but you have to boil for 25 minutes.

That takes a lot of propane if your power is out. Your chicken and rice has a lot of chicken and a large portion. You only add boiling water to the pouch wait 10 minutes and it’s ready to eat. I did add a little extra seasoning.

And great for my girlfriend that has nut allergy.

The Rice and Chicken meal is a known quantity (much like a McD’s Big Mac). It is not the best but it is filling. It is not something I eat except backpacking. The easy part about this meal is that you can modify it…….

It has a lot of sodium but backpacking helps with the dosage. I just add a little Larry’s Black Pepper Seasoned Salt along with a packet of olive oil (to boost the calories) and a packet of hot sauce.

The bad part about making it a backpacking meal is that is a pain to pack. (When I can I get some of the military versions I do primarily as a packability positive).

I am writing a review as I want to encourage ConAgra to keep making spicy dishes in their line of cafe steamers. I LOVE the spicy brown sauce in this dish – it is a blast of real spice and flavor – making a chicken/rice/veggie dish incredibly delicious.

The reviews I’ve read are completely untrue. I’ve decided after reading the reviews it has to be coming from Healthy Choice’s competition. ( LOL) This dish is too delicious!! I say this as I had this dish dozens and dozens of times and the consistency, quality, flavor and spicy sauce is outstanding.

That said you gotta love spicy. 🙂 Cafe Steamers Spicy Chicken with authentic spicy sauce IS WONDERFUL and absolutely delicious. I do 4 min microwave and each and very time PERFECT. IF you like SPICY then you’ll really enjoy it.

It makes eating healthy so much more enjoyable. My suggestion is stir it around and let it sit for a minute. For those wanting to compare the ” real General Tso’s Spicy chicken to HEALTHY CHOICE Cafe Steamer, let’s really compare.

The Googled description of this Chinese dish reads ” a sweet deep-fried chicken dish that is served in North American Chinese restaurants. ” So there you go. You’re first clue. Healthy Choice cafe steamer is not deep fried.

Googling further: someone was complaining about sodium. Healthy Choice did consider making the sodium lower. Check it out below! A Chinese restaurant standard order size is 535 grams. HChoice is 292 grams.

So HC is 55% of the standard order size. Then comparing equal sizes of each: (1) Sodium in the restaurant dish = 1,178 and HC 580 sodium. (2) Restaurant version of FAT 44g vs HC 3. 5, (3) Restaurant version of Sugar 31g vs HC 11g, (4) Restaurant version of Carbs 64g vs HC 47g (5) Protein 34.

5g vs 16g and (6) Calories 788g vs 290g. So there you have it — hope this offers another perspective! Enjoy!.

One thing that I absolutely LOVE about this is that since the sauce is cooked separately from everything else, you don’t end up with soggy vegetables and you also have the option to use how much sauce you want! So if you just want a little bit of the sauce, no problem you don’t need to have your meal swimming in it.

It’s very tasty and no extra seasoning is needed. It is also great when you want a quick meal but still be conscious about what you are eating. As a WW member, I love this for a quick lunch.

If you’re not into flavor, this isn’t for you! I adore authentic chimichurri, if you don’t know it’s a traditional Argentinian cold sauce that’s put over grilled meats. It consists of parsley and/or cilantro, olive oil, chili peppers, lemon juice and vinegar.

This version of chimichurri sauce is super bright, just spicy enough and I wish I could replicate it at home, I absolutely love it! Again, if you eat a bit on the bland side you probably will not like it.

I find that the combo of green beans and potatoes with the meat is perfect and this is hands down my favorite Healthy Choice meal! If you do like this meal, play around with chimichurri recipes online, it’s easy to make and is simple to adjust the ratio of ingredients to suit your personal taste.

Chimichurri is the best!.

I saw a lot of negative reviews about the taste because of the sauce. The veggies and beef are absolutely delicious. They are perfectly tender and flavorful. The sauce, however, is not my fav. But, I’m not a fan of most sauces anyway.

For example, if food comes with sauce on it, I ask them to put it on the side or say “no sauce”. This dish comes with the sauce on the side (so to speak). The food itself is inside of a basket like bowl with holes (similar to a strainer).

That basket sits down into an actual bowl (with no holes). The no-hole bowl has the sauce it in. Once I took this out of the microwave, I lifted the strainer bowl of food and stuck the tip of my fork into the sauce to taste it.

I didn’t care for it. So, guess what? I just kept eating without dumping the strainer-bowl of food into the sauce. The sauce doesn’t touch the food unless you dump it in. Who cooks something and then slathers it with sauce without tasting the sauce to see if you like it? Again, this dish is awesome.

I tried it on a whim and immediately went back to the store to get 5 more. Great portion size and pricepoint too.

Everyone that is saying that it’s too spicy or gross really surprises me. I came here because it surprised me in a good way. Its not too spicy but actually does have a nice slight spice to it to give it flavor! I was pleasantly surprised because most of the healthy choice meals are too bland, lacking in the vegetables, and not filling.

This was the opposite!! Green beans were crunchy. Plenty of veggies. Great potatoes and a lot of tasty tender beef!.

I haven’t tried frozen lasagna in years, and this was an impulse buy. Hubs and I work together in a small family business and we avoid going out for lunch since Covid hit. Saves us a lot of $$! I thawed it and cut into 4 pieces.

18 minutes in the toaster oven to toast, cut in half, 30 seconds in the microwave to heat through. Delicious, quick, easy; add garlic rolls or veggies and you have lunch for 2 around $5. Thanks for offering well-priced convenient foods that we can use occasionally to ease the grind!.

My favorite frozen meal. I love Stouffer’s frozen lasagna. The taste is excellent and the preparation is so easy. I see a lot of complaints about the size but they are clearly marked. When I go to walmart this is the first thing I get, I can’t stop eating it! I love it! My mother was the one who introduced me to this delicacy and since then I haven’t stopped eating it, my rommates get tired of me always buying this because there is no space in the refrigerator when I buy this since I carry many, they even tell me that I can be able to others options and I tell them, no thanks, the only lasagna I’m going to eat in my life is the one from walmart, I say the one from walmart because I didn’t know the brand until now, but the thing is that this is extremely delicious, love it!.

Not anything like the picture. And cook less as it burns the edges. All it is is sauce, some meat, and no cheese really. Skimpy. Cannot recommend. noodles were rubbery. very tiny portion. about the size of two computer mice side by side.

definitely not a do again. i wound up throwing it out. even my non picky hubby tried a bite of noodle and passed.

Much cheesier than the ziti I tried. It was really easy to make and smelled good while cooking. The sauce is thick enough and tastes mostly of sour cream. The rice is plentiful and was cooked well, the beans were spread throughout and we’re decently soft and cooked.

I didn’t notice the zucchini much which was disappointing as it was one of the main reasons I bought this. I didn’t taste the Chile that much. There was a very small hint of spice but barely noticeable.

The downside is that it sort of just became mush while I was looking for a more rice forward experience.

The Smart Ones Santa fe rice and beans is a go-to frozen dinner option. I like the flavor of the rice and beans. It’s not spicy at all. It’s mostly rice with a few beans. The best part is the sour cream type sauce on it which adds more flavor and moisture that a frozen rice dinner needs.

They are affordable at most grocery stores, particularly at Wal-Mart. I will continue to purchase smart ones meals.

OMG, this is my favorite (I guess healthy) frozen meal. It is a small portion, but packed with so much flavor. The Mexican style medley will have your mouth dancing the salsa! I think it’s mild but my Mother thought it was spicy.

Then again she thinks everything is spicy so try it for yourself. Bon Appetit friends!.

I really enjoy Amy’s products! Mac and cheese with broccoli is one of my favorite frozen foods. This brand has a nice mix of flavor and the bread crumbs are a nice touch that sets it apart from other brands.

However I will say I don’t really like the texture of the pasta itself. I’m not sure what type of pasta they use but it feels very dense (almost like it’s undercooked) and has a grainy texture to it.

Unfortunately, that is a deal breaker for me. I really love the brand though because a lot of the other products are excellent!.

This stuff is so good they used to sell it in a family size portion. You absolutely would never know the noodles are gluten free. The cheese sauce is nice and think – reminds you of the kind that would have been made from a roux with flour.

The broccoli is always nice and fresh tasting. Only downside is that it takes a bit longer in the microwave (approx 5 min) but it is well worth the wait.

This is hands down my favorite frozen meal! I could eat this every day lol it has some crumbles or bread crumbs on top and the taste is like I made it at home. They are usually about $5 for a good size! I eat this for dinner or lunch and it is perfect abs beers up in 5 min!!!! They also have a family style size and I have made this one time as a huge dish and put it in my own pan and after microwaving it I put it in the oven for 5 min and it looked like I made it myself lol.

This satisfied my craving for lasagna for sure. There was a lot of meat, perhaps a little too much. I feel that it wasn’t very balanced among the other ingredients. I could smell the garlic. I wish there was more cheese, noodles and sauce.

Usually lasagna has ricotta or cottage cheese but it was nowhere to be found. After cooking it in the oven for an hour, I jazzed it up a bit. Along with my slice of lasagna I added the cottage cheese, noodles, cheese and sauce that it lacked.

(I like a lot of sauce) Overall the flavor was good, but if you’re gonna call it cheesy, it needs more cheese.

I buy Stouffer’s Lasagna every now and then for the house because everyone likes it including me but I can’t tolerate dairy so I don’t touch it much. I purchased this box and took a small piece and was not impressed at all.

I’m not sure what happen here but it tasted weird and looked like it was thrown together. The noodles tasted like dough and the Lasagna was well heated up. I put it in the oven like I usually do when I purchase it.

There was barely any meat in it. It was more of noodles , sauce and cheese. My son said it was different tasting also and didn’t finish his.

Stouffer’s Macaroni Beef is a single serving meal with pasta in a tomato meat sauce. The serving is a pretty standard size; it satisfied my hunger, but I didn’t feel too full or uncomfortable after eating it.

It is microwaveable, making it perfect for a workday lunch. I was surprised at how long the instructions said to microwave it: a total of SEVEN minutes! And yikes. it was HOT when I removed it from the microwave! The pasta tastes very fresh, there are actual real tomatoes, and there’s a fair enough amount of meat in the sauce.

for me, at least. Meat lovers will probably disagree. The taste overall was really good, but if I have one complaint, it is that the sauce is slightly too tomato-y. I wasn’t blown away by this product, but I did enjoy it.

I’m not sure I would eat it every day, but I would stock up with a few if I found them on sale. I would recommend to somebody who doesn’t cook much or needs a decent-tasting hot lunch.

The sauce was okay, not great. I like more zing with ginger, etc. This accounts for the 9 grams of ADDITIONAL sugar. I didn’t care for the carrots, they are just like the carrots in the frozen mixed veggies I’ve had since I was a kid.

( I always picked them out. Something about how they are processed?) Otherwise the chicken was tender, and tasty (so many frozen entrees the chicken is rubbery. ) and the other veggies were about the perfect texture.

The rice didn’t seem like brown, which can be a plus for some. I’d like to see a bit larger portion. Its only 280 calories and I’m still hungry. But overall decent.

The flavor was okay. I expected stronger/more intense flavor. Teriyaki is prepared to preference than a standard recipe, so your mileage may vary. Not safe for someone with celiac disease, unfortunately.

(Ask me how I know. ) Stick with the dish that is third-party certified gluten-free.

I purchased this product online approximately one month ago. Where most meals were ok we found one that appeared to contain pieces of wood shreds. My intent is not to complain about the product but to make you aware that the content we found.

Let me start by saying I thoroughly despise anything frozen, from a drive-thru or middle of the grocery store. and I hate that machine called a microwave. That being said, I am a business owner and mother of 4 so time does become an issue for me.

My children are all 3-sport athletes, my husband is still playing ball professionally and I am a long-distance runner. I meal prep and make ALL our meals fresh daily however, there are simply times I cannot find time to fuel my family properly.

Then I found CleanEatz. FINALLY, not only an acceptable substitution but a DELICIOUS answer to properly fueling our bodies. I’m not sure how they can make frozen microwaveable meals so good, but they’ve figured out the secret! I got box A as a way to help me have healthier options for foods that saved me the time of cooking alot with my busy schedule. It has definitely helped me alot I don’t have to put too much time into what I’m going to eat then have to go through the trouble of cooking it.

I’m happy with the way the food tastes it’s very fresh and I can’t say I really dislike any of the options taste wise. One thing I didn’t like was getting 2 replacements without any notice. I understand they run out of things but I would have liked to at least know that 2 of the steak meals I thought I was going to get I wasn’t.

And one of the replacements I really wasn’t too fond of just because I’m not a fan of lasagna (and now I have 10 because I got 2 boxes)…it’s not nasty I just don’t want it. The other sub was good. That’s the only thing I was unhappy with.

Otherwise Im satisfied and it did what I needed it to do. I’d recommend and buy again.

This is how I would make mine. We just got a brand new microwave, but for all of my 40 years plus an additional 9 we were using the good ‘ole Roper oven combo. It’s still there and does still work but not to the best extent.

It says to put it in for so many minutes but I had timed my perfect meal to 7 min and 30 seconds. My microwave would lightly crisp up the sauce, congealing it and slightly burning the edges it tasted so much better to me that way.

Then I would break out the sour cream and reduced wheat thins. I’d dip the chicken in the sour cream as well as the wheat thins and it was “magnifique” (or however you spell it). Then I went on a low carbish lifestyle, not full keto like I used to be.

But I stopped eating these daily. When I used to crisp them they were in the black plastic containers then, now they are in semi white clear ones now and seem to be burn proof. I mean you can burn them but the plastic will literally melt a hole and instead of that perfect congealing crisp edge it looks like burnt matches, and tastes like it (not that I’ve ever eaten burnt matchsticks, Clorox as a baby once, I was a trashcan diver in my crawling days).

This snack meal is good, imo; comes well packaged in dry ice, thermal insulated foam carton which is large, has to be to accommodate quantity this stir fry comes in. Noodles and veggies are fresh and tasty, each is a bit different with re: veggies; does have chicken bits which I throw away, never did like the texture of chicken but that is just personal inclination.

As soon as I have room in my freezer, I will reorder this one. For several years, Lean Cuisine has been trustworthy with re: “clean” this type of meal, at least personal opine. This meal is just a bit hot as Thai food is but not too much.

I am only giving a 4 out of 5 rating because it’s based on my knowledge of frozen “diet” entrees. This one used to be my go to work meal. It’s not the greatest, certainly not the worst. The chicken actually has the texture of real chicken.

As opposed to processed grossness. The sauce is tangy, yet sweet. But it is now hard to find in grocery stores.

Beef and potaoes:- When prepared, it has the consistency of a real beef stew, i. e. it looks homemade, with lumps of meat and potato and veg, not catfood mush as earlier dehydrated food used to be. Plenty for one.

600 calories. Light weight. Doesn’t leave a sickly feeling in your stomach. Keeps warm in the packet even after waiting eight minutes for it to soak. Put in slightly more water than recommended. No one gets hungrier than a cyclist and after cycling all day with camping gear I was full after this meal.

Not used yet hence the star rating but I’m sure it’ll be a good as the rest of the range
