20 Best Cold Pressed Juice Machine (2023 Updated)

So there’s two types of juicers, centrifugal and masticating. This Ninja Cold Press is a masticating juicer because it has an auger, the screw like mechanism that “eats” through the item you’re juicing.

I’ve used regular lower-end centrifugal juicers in the past and I disliked how it seemed like a waste of fruit and vegetables because most of it ended up in the trash. However, this juicer does a great job of extracting as much juice as possible, at least twice as much.

For example, a medium sized orange will yield 1 cup, while a cheap centrifugal juicer will yield half of that. You do have to be patient when loading the auger, important to cut up items into 2” pieces so as not to jam it.

Another thing that isn’t as convenient is the location of the power and reverse button on the back of the housing, you have to reach around to locate them. I think the biggest pro is that this juicer is able to handle anything that fits in the loader, and yields far more juice than other types of juicers on the market.

Afterwards disassembly and clean up is easy, remove juice chamber, pulp filter, and auger to wash. You can put all the removable parts into the dishwasher.

I was not willing to throw $300-$400 on a juicer as I’m extremely new to juicing so I decided I would get the Ninja for a more affordable price and see how I like it. I figured if I liked it I could invest in a “better” one down the line.

I got it last week and I’ve been using it like crazy! It is super easy to put together and take apart for cleaning, and there is a small cleaning brush to get the hard to reach areas. They have tags on each filter so you can control the amount of pulp, and the horizontal auger really does juice leafy greens better than the vertical augers I’ve seen.

I have noticed though that it has a hard time juicing grapefruits (and other citrus fruit) and berries. The wet pulp gets pretty clogged in the auger and when you push it down you have to do it slowly because the pulp starts to come back up the chute.

I learned the hard way by pushing some berries down after grapefruit and getting my face splashed with soggy pulp. That small annoyance is so worth the amazing price. I’m gonna stick with this one, definitely no plans to get a higher end and more expensive one.

Edit: The juicer does come with a recipe book. I used it to make my own granola and put that with some more pulp for the best parfait! I’m definitely trying the other recipes.

I’ve had a juicer before, but oh my, what a difference! it was big and bulky and so difficult to clean. First off this Omega juicer comes very well packaged, no parts are moving and it all arrives in one piece.

The first thing I did was to pull everything out of the box, sat down and took the time to carefully read the user manual, this is a crucial step. Next, I washed by hand each part that needs to be washed, and after they were all dry, assembled it following the instructions, understanding what you read right before beginning to use any given equipment is the most important step, and I can not stretch this enough, because after I assembled the juicer and was ready to make my first juice, I pressed the button and nothing happened, after going over the assembling instructions once more I realized that there was one piece I had not placed properly, and that is great because it is a safety feature, the juicer will not start if there is something not placed exactly how it is supposed to be, but after I fixed it, then boom! I was able to hear the machine beeping and the digital screen lighting up in red, ready to begin.

I tried with carrots first, it took almost 2 pounds of carrots for a 12 ounce glass, but that’s the thing about juicing, it’s going to take lots of material to extract juice and juice only. I love that it is a vertical model, so it is the size and takes about the same space as my blender, which now they sit next to each other.

The operating buttons are straight forward: after the digital screen(which is the little square that lights up in red) it has a button that you press once for firmer fruits and veggies, or press twice for softer ones, then a reverse button, and lastly the on/off button.

The machine is very quiet, I’m sure we all love this feature, it is so convenient, and avoids scaring the “cwap” out of babies, little children and pets. This juicer is intended for home use and not to make for a big crowd at a time, actually it tells you in the manual that you should only operate for 10min at a time, as the motor over heats.

So far the only flaw I have found with this machine is that when juicing, the juice bowl (the clear thingy that has the spout where the juice comes out of) well this specific part just sits where it sits, but it was obviously not well thought-out.

while juicing, at some point the juice starts spilling from the juice bowl down to the sides of the juicer, this is kind of annoying because when ready to remove all parts to wash them you need to be careful and be ready with something to soak up the juice collected around this area before it spills further.

I strongly suggest you rinse/wash everything right away as the stuff left behind dries quickly, making it difficult to wash, the juicer does come with a handy dandy brush, the opposite end of the brush has a mini scraper, you will find this tool a must to clean out every part, but always remember: safety first!.

when done juicing, press the off button and unplug your machine, then proceed to remove the washable parts, and wipe down any spills, if you do it in the moment, then you can have your juicer ready to go each time.

We are enjoying our new vertical juicer. Love the size and weight of the juicer, so much lighter and smaller height makes it easier to handle and leave on counter top for everyday usage. It also is very quite in comparison to other juicers we have.

Juice has minimal amount of foam as well and juice screen does a great job of eliminating pulp. I have noticed in the pulp extraction leaves a small amount of liquid (apples, carrots) but the masticating auger does a decent job overall.

Have not tried juicing the pulp again as I have seen on videos. Worth a try or using pulp to make broths, soups, fillings,etc. Also feel that if the pulp tube was angled a little it would control the expelled pulp into container better.

I also would be interested to know if the parts are free of PBA for health reasons. Would really love the juicer if it came with an additional juice screen for juicing multiple types of vegetables and fruits without cleaning after each type.

Did notice additional screens can be ordered so that is helpful. One year warranty versus the 15 years on other Omega juicers falls into line with the retail price of this model. Comes in a nice variety of colors and juicer would make a great gift for anyone interested in improving their overall health.

A great value and introduction to the benefits of juicing.

The juicer looks very beautiful in my kitchen. It does not take much space and easy to store. I made carrot,beetroot and apple juice and it was tasty and easy to make with no complex functions. Love the fact that all parts can be dissembled and can be cleaned.

Comes with nice brush to clean off. There are 2 separate exits for juice and waste. Looking at the waste it does look like that it extracts the juice to the very last drop. I took 1 start ad I find it was complex to assemble the parts and a bit difficult to clean.

And some pieces were stuck and not crushed at all. I am very new to using these kinds of juicers and might need some time to get used to assembling it fast to use everyday.

This juicer is amazing even though I broke my first one. I’ve had two juice fountains but the masticating is where it’s at. The high speed ones are great until the strainer gets clogged and it will happen no matter how clean you are.

Pros. The Omega is perfect for the daily fresh juicer. It has a small enough footprint to leave on the counter and clean up was too easy. It comes with two strainers so you can be ready to go with an easy rotation.

Cons. the vertical shoot is small. Smaller than the previously mentioned so you have to do a little more prep. I broke it by trying to stuff a quarter cut of beet in the shoot and I should have done eighth’s.

But I’ve been doing the rinds of watermelon and pineapple with ease. The pulp comes out barely damp and makes great compost. Carrot, ginger and pineapple juice is my favorite mix. The only one that may be better is the Omega in the $400 range.

I love this juicer. I admit I first saw it on a late night infomercial and it just seemed like one of those full of hype talks that I happened to look up and see when I was working on my computer. I kept sneaking a peak at the infomercial and finally checked the internet and Best Buy to see if this juicer was a legitimate product.

I read the reviews on Best Buy and decided that it seemed to be real. I am so happy I purchased this. It is small which means it has a small countertop footprint. It is true you can’t get a lot through the slot at one time or use large pieces but who cares when it processes the pieces quickly and efficiently.

The pulp that comes out of the waste hole is dry but edible if you’d like to get some fiber (of course this depends on the vegetable or fruit and I’ve only eaten the carrot pulp thus far). The juice itself tastes great.

It comes with a recipe booklet that gives you many ideas and nutrition information. The other good thing about this juicer, aside from the ease of use, is the ease of clean up. It is so easy to put together and take apart to clean.

It also feels very sturdy which is reassuring. I’m not concerned it will break or fall apart. For once in my life I’m glad I paid attention to an infomercial!.

Juicer sturdy and well constructed. Easy to assemble and break down. I juiced broccoli stalk, celery, cabbage, kale, dandelion, apple, lemon and beet. It extracted the juice from them all well. The pulp was relatively dry.

The machine operates quietly. There are 8 parts to wash in the clean up. The opening is small and it takes time to chop everything up and feed through the chute. This is my reason for returning and going with the Breville.

I’ve used this only once, but found it easy to assemble and fairly easy to clean. It does require the included brush to adequately clean the strainer. Running the pulp back thru to extract any remaining juice didn’t do well.

It clogged up and even reversing didn’t clear the problem, so I took everything apart and cleared it that way. I definitely like the reverse feature and especially the two different speeds for soft versus hard fruits/veggies.

The juicing process works well. One thing I did notice is that you have to be careful not to push too hard when putting fruits or veggies into the tube. If you push too hard, the auger assembly bends down and looks as if it would break if pressure is continued.

Definitely cut hard veggies, like carrots, into narrow strips. For the money, I definitely recommend this for beginner juicers or those who only juice from time to time. I would buy this again and would recommend it to family and friends who are looking for a juicer.

Works much better than other more expensive Juicers that I tried! Very happy with the look and operation of this.

It is easy to clean which makes it faster to clean.

I have been using this Omega cold press juicer for a week. I love how easy it is to use. It is perfect to use fruit and veggies before they go bad. I love how healthy and clean the juice is. It is perfect for me and my kids to get all the vitamins we need in a day.

I love using this juicer in the morning instead of coffee. I feel so much healthier even after just a week. I love how easy the directions are and how easy it is to clean. I highly recommend this juicer.

IšverstiShow in original languageI love the juices that I have made so far (watermelon juice, apple juice, and a cucumber-kiwi-grape-lime juice). It is really easy to clean, the most challenging part being the starting exit point for the pulp.

I use a meat skewer (for kabobs) to get in there and get the stuff out that gets trapped. You really should create a tool like that (shorter than kabob skewer and flat tipped like a Philips-head screwdriver) for getting in there and cleaning it easier.

The brush that was included is too fat to fit in the pulp shoot to reach it. But maybe you can develop this new tool as the other end of the brush, so that it is a two-in-one tool for cleaning! Just my thoughts.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis was my first juicer and I lovveee it!! I juiced apples, cucumbers, kale, and beets! It so easy to set up, use, and clean. Set up only took 2 minutes (they have a video on youtube) and washing was really easy.

It extracts a lot of the juice and the pulp was very dry so I know the juicer did its job!! I am so happy with this juicer. I hope it lasts many years :).

Bien j’ai déjà amortie ma première échéance avec de vrai légumes et fruits. Je le conseille vivement aux familles nombreuses et même comme moi-même étant seule. Et cela permet de manger des fruits et légumes que nous ne sommes pas fans comme les enfants.

Ensuite des la réception j’ai testé moi qui déteste monter des appareils c’est toujours un casse tête la c’est très très simple. Les jus sont fait très rapidement. Hâte de voir dans le temps s’il va être résistant.

Another brand sells a juicer that has identical strainers as this between $400 and $500, so this is such a great value, I bought another one, which helps me produce a lot more juice within the limited 20 min run time (standard run time for almost all vertical juicers except for the commercial version of one brand).

I removed the top flip cover using a flat head screwdriver so I can add the chopped produce by the two handfuls. I juice a ratio of 40% leafy greens, 50% hard vegetables (carrots, celery, beets, cucumbers, etc) and usually mix in 10% fruits for sweetness.

I have had no problems making nut milks (plenty of YouTube videos on this).

The price is great. Ive had this juicer for 6 weeks now and Im happy with it. I use it 2-3 times a week. I now have to stop midway and clean juicer and finish juices. Ive just recently had to discard fruits that didnt juice because it just keep spinning.

I registered for warranty but got no confirmation of it.

The juice lasts so long! (A week later still tastes fresh in the fridge!) The tutorial videos are extremely helpful. I can’t wait to make nut butter. Easy to clean. The press gets ALL the juice out of the foods.

I loved the efficiency of the machine. But it was soooo messy. Maybe it was me, as it was the first time I had used it. Hopefully I will improve my technique with practice, but I had juice on the walls, juice that overflowed the juice tray, some pieces flying out of the top before I could put the plunger in.

Nonetheless, I had fun making the juice and was very impressed with the dryness of what had been pulp. I tasted some of that and it was kind of good.

I bought it here online even though I live nearby the pure juice factory as I saved 10% wash sales tax by doing so and still got it delivered by the next day. This new juicer is designed /advanced beyond the norwalk I had owned previously and used to successfully cure a stage 3 cancer for a g/f years ago using the gerson therapy.

I have been a juicer on and off for more than 20 plus years. I own two KUVING juicers. I had shelved both after hearing one of my neighbors tell me all the negative things about juicing and listening to other popular fad like gurus on why not to juice.

Really, I am an easily influenced person with the right argument. Recently I have noticed Juicing bars come up alongside Starbucks and other Coffee shops and with the hefty price attached I just started thinking about my own juicers.

Now, I have a diagnoses of a rare autoimmune disease and I am currently taking prednisone to deal with heart inflammation. Noticing a bloat, I started considering ways to switch my diet to help with the bloat.

Juicing came to mind and I am back to the wonderful ease of juicing daily with my KUVINGS. My B6000 is simple to use, I do cut my fruits and veggies, I bundle my greens like parsley and they get juiced! I am now getting ready to make delicious muffins from the fibers of my juicing.

The parts rinse easily, I use a toothbrush for the fine mesh screen and it takes under 5 minutes for cleanup. My other KUVINGS is on our camper, It too is easy to use and is best for smaller amounts of juice as it will get overloaded otherwise.

EASE of cleanup are staple of both and the pulp is dry! That means I am getting all the juice! I am very happy to be at my daily juicing again and will just have to put in earplugs when I get a friend or neighbor telling me the cons of Juicing.

Honestly, it’s an ok, slow extraction juicer. Yes you can extract juice and the yield is great! I enjoy it! THE TEN TON ELEPHANT in the room is the fact that this machine cannot process anything fibrous without getting clogged.

Furthermore, the opening for material to pass through is awkwardly placed for a continuous flow of high fiber material. Celery, not a chance, ginger, no way, kale and collards, good luck. I’m not saying that it’s a bad piece of equipment, it’s not.

However, I have a problem paying that much money for something and having to take it apart to clean it out while I’m juicing. It’s annoying, and shouldn’t be an issue at such a price point. I could pay less for the same headache, ok that was a dig, but you get what I’m saying.

Please fix this issue. On a brighter note, the juices are good, weight loss is a by product of juicing. The energy burst you get from every glass is real. Kuvings, please fix the fiber exit. I’ve got an idea or two that could possibly assist in the fiber expelling with a minimal part change that probably wouldn’t cost much to fix.

Very sturdy great product. Very heavy, so I suggest finding a sturdy tabletop/ cabinet to store them. I had a hard time closing the lid of the chute. First time assembling was a bit difficult. Had to watch a Youtube video to see how user put parts together.

Also, I ran into an issue with the strainer warping on me when I tried to juice almond milk. It was the first time I used the machine too. I followed the guide book instructions to the “t” with assembling and soaking the almond nuts overnight.

Customer service was on point when I emailed them to ask for replacement. I tried doing several recipes from online and their recipe book too. Love how much fruits/vegetables I can consume when juicing versus eating it whole.

One thing that I’m slightly disappointed in is that the juices does separate after a day. Product claims that juices won’t separate because it’s slow-juiced. Nothing that a spoon and mixing can’t solve I guess but felt slightly let-down.

I ordered this juicer online, on cyber monday. It came maybe a week and a half later, which was the estimated delivery. The juicer came with a booklet and easy instructions, although you don’t really need those since it is easy to put together.

I expected to have to prepare all my fruits and veggies by cutting them to be skinny or small enough to fit down the chute properly. I first put a carrot down, which made me have to use the “reverse” button quite a few times in order to get it down but after that one, i had no issues and haven’t had to use that button again.

The machine is very easy to use, just don’t try and break it by stuffing things down there to overpower it, the machine has a lower voltage than those of higher price, so I’ve been keeping that in mind.

My complaints are: (1) no strainer to catch pulp that passes through with juice and (2) the pulp comes out not so dry (in my opinion). The canister that collects the juice also accumulates some pulp that should have not have made it into the juice collection.

Which is understandable, but there should be a fine net strainer right on top of that to catch the pulp that made it through. So to solve this, I have to run it through a strainer in a separate bowl.

Now for (2), the pulp that comes out of the end of the machine, comes out wet still. I’ve ran it back through, getting drops of juice to come out but its very inconvenient and the juicer doesn’t accept the recycled pulp as it does the fruits and veggies on its first go around.

overall, the price is very cheap compared to other expensive, high powered ones and it reflects on its quality. Needless to say, it does the job for $77.

I’ve been using this juicer 3 times a day, every day, for the past 4 months and it’s absolutely perfect. It’s rather quiet, it handles tough veggies as well as mushy fruits, it’s relatively easy to clean and re-assembly is stress free.

It is white in color (fits perfectly into my white kitchen), therefore YES, there will be smudges and stains after juicing certain fruits and veggies (carrots, beetroots, strawberries, kale, dragon fruit, etc.

) – after a good clean though, none of the stains are visible anymore. It has a very solid base and doesn’t budge one inch even when performing hard duty tasks. The feeding hole is normal size; not any smaller or bigger than any other non-industrial juicers on the market.

In excessive use over the past 4 months this juicer has handled everything I fed it, without a single issue. For personal use and for this price I definitely think this is the best masticating juicer on the market.

After my recent illness, I added green smoothies and juices to my diet. My first purchase was Vitamix for smoothies, which I am very satisfied with. The machine performance and the customer support is excellent.

Since I had spent lot of money on vitamix, I thought I’ll save some by choosing a masticating juicer with a decent price and great reviews. So I chose Big Boss over omega. What a great mistake it was! I bought big boss masticating juicer from Walmart website in Sept’14.

It’s a little smaller than Omega (I had borrowed Omega 8005 from a friend and was happy with its performance), so took a bit longer than Omega to Juice. The juice quantity and quality seemed fine. The juicer and the attachments looked a bit filmsy, but I was OK with that.

After 3. 5 months of use, in January’15, the tabs on the juicer body which holds the juicing part broke. Since It was just over the Walmart return period, I contacted Emson Customer Support (The company which markets it in US).

After repeated emails and two weeks, they emailed me back saying that they will replace the juicer, but it’s going to take 4-6 weeks. After a month, they sent me another juicer, but a different model, 9177 (masticating but vertical model).

They said they stopped making the model 8820 which I had. (But I see Walmart and other sellers still selling it. ) Now this vertical model is just unusable. It clogs just after juicing a glass of juice.

You have to take it apart, clean and wash it, and juice the second glass. It’s just useless. So, if you are not a regular juicer and juice just a few times a month, this juicer may work for you. But if you are planning to use it everyday, it’s going to break on you soon.

And you are not going to get a replacement since they no longer make it. I regret wasting my money on this Big Boss juicer. But its a lesson learned, you get what you pay for.

I’ve had this a month before doing a review because I’ve encountered some juicers that start strong only to bog down with certain items. I should mention, we are hard-core juicers and routinely juice at least daily.

I judge this on a few criteria including 1- strength, 2-versatility, 3-ease of use and 4 – value. So first strength. it’s good. Not the best I have used but it cost about 1/3 the other one so I would rate this slightly above average.

Next is versatility and that is where this one shines. A lot of juicers are good for tossing in chunks of apple or soft fruit but if you want to add wheat grass they are suddenly bogged down and awful.

This manages the wheat grass and regular fruit far better so gets good marks in versatility. Next is ease of use and this is slightly above average. It’s straightforward to assemble and clean so you don’t spend an hour every morning.

Last but not least is value and I’d rank this is a very good value. Overall an impressive juicer for the price!.

I never thought I needed a juicer until now. It is so much fun prepping my fruits, slicing them up and feeding them through the juicer. The juicer is very easy to put together, all the parts fit together seamlessly.

It is easy to clean and even easier to use. You’re simply peeling all your fruits and dicing them into portions that can fit through the juicer. The knob on the juicer are for 3 options, to turn on,to turn off or to reverse the grinder in the juicer.

Fresh juice is pumped out into one of two cups, while the remnants of the pressed fruit is pumped out into second cup. This machine is super easy to clean with the soft side of your sponge and the large toothbrush that comes with it.

The only downside I noticed, is that the head of the juicer somehow gets filled with water when you’re cleaning it, and it’s hard to tell where the water comes from or how quick it’ll dry up. Besides that this machine is a joy, I’m drinking fresh juice without any preservatives or additives and overall its helping me to live a healthier lifestyle.

Definitely a must have.

It’s a terrific juicer. It’s very powerful. Once a batch of celery is cleaned up (which can take some time because I don’t have easy access to a sink, so I have to wipe all the celery off, piece by piece), the actual juicing goes fast.

Afterwards, the cleaning goes slowly because a fair amount of wet pulp is left inside the machine, and I try to capture that, as well. But overall, it’s a super machine. The pulp that’s extruded from the machine is extremely dry.

Also, I like how I don’t have to slice up the celery into small little chunks before feeding it into the machine. I can just feed each piece of celery into the machine whole. Anyway, I’m extremely satisfied.

I LOVE this juicer. After lots of research I wanted a masticating juicer to extract all the nutrients possible. The Omega celery juicer ticked all the boxes. It juices celery perfectly and all other juices are smooth and bit free thanks to the strainer that attaches to the container.

I love this product so much that we also purchased one for my mum and dad and sister. You need to be patient when juicing soft fruits such as oranges and pears as they don’t push through as well as harder fruits but a simple rinse and you are ready to go again.

A wonderful juicer for our morning celery juice. It’s also super simple to assemble and clean which is a great bonus. We found it didn’t work as well for soft fruits as the pulp seemed to build up and slowed the process down.

So pleased we brought it for our celery and carrot/apple juice though as the leftover pulp is very dry so we are now using less veggies/fruit and extracting more juice. A big thanks to ‘Love Your Health for dispatching so quickly.

This is the first time we have purchased from Vitality4Life and they did good. They delivered our purchase direct to Switzerland with no hassle or issues at our end – all we had to do was wait for the postman, pay a bit of customs duty (only fair) and voila we had our brand new Bio-Chef Axis Horizontal Juicer set up in our kitchen at home.

This juicer is well built and importantly it is simple to assemble and take apart for cleaning. When it comes to juicing it is simply amazing. It handles everything you put in the hopper, soft fruit, crunchy carrots, celery, kale, lettuce, ginger, turmeric, crisp apples, amazing – it just works it’s mechanical magic to produce the most wonderful tasty and healthy vegetable and fruit juices.

So much better than using a blender and better built and performing than the heavily advertised bullet type smoothie makers – the Bio-Chef Axis Horizontal Juicer gets 5*’s from us especially as it maintains the all important health boosting nutrients that we need as human beings because of the well thought out slow speed squeezing function that literally presses all the liquid out of the fruit and vegetables you feed into it.

Highly recommended. It can even make nut butters, pasta and bread sticks apparently (eat your heart out Nutribullit) but we have not got around to trying that yet. Thank you Vitality4Life for a job well done.

I bought this juicer to upgrade from a much cheaper unit. Overall, I can’t see where how they came up with the price. I had been outting off buying a new machine because despite the cheap unit doing its job, i had only nought it to see if i would use it past the second week.

Ive had it fir 4 months now and use it every few days. So i bought this one and to be honest im bitterly disappointed. It’s very slow, the screen has to be constantly cleaned out when juicing citrus (which means pulling the whole thing a part and making a big mess) and gets very hot when you use it for more than 10 min, which is what it takes to juice half a small bag of carrots and a few cut up oranges.

I find myself using my old cheap $179 juicer for the most part. My advice buy the cheap juicer. Its no kess quality and you can get 2 and a half of them for the cost of this one.

After using this juicer three times to juice pineapple and apple i have realised that it is a pile of garbage. It is easy to set up and use however each time, after putting in just a few bits of fruit, the entire machine clogged up.

I read the manual many times, followed instructions and even experimented with the nozzle settings and each time had the same results. Little to no pulp was pushed out and the juicing process had to be stopped to pull the machine apart and thoroughly clean it.

I have experience with cold press juicers and the online reviews i read about this model being excellent valie for money are completely wrong.

I first bought a centrifugal juicer from Goodwill for $10, just to see if we actually liked the idea of juicing. and we did! Once I knew it was worth it to spend the money, I looked for the best juicer I could find, and watched all those online videos.

The Slowstar is wonderful, but my experience falls short of the ideal displayed on those videos. Unlike the centrifugal juicer, which ate a whole carrot in just a moment, it takes a while for a carrot to be fully processed in this machine.

It’s a slow juicer. But I really like the self feeding characteristic. I just drop things like carrots into the chute, and little by little, they disappear downwards, as I am slicing or washing other items to add.

Every once in a while, the chute gets clogged,and I just use a larger carrot as a push stick when that happens. Only rarely does the machine stop, but the reverse feature needs only a second to clear the problem and keep moving forward with the juicing.

The pulp is not really bone dry, as they like to say on the videos, but it isn’t soggy either. I’d call it damp. Cleanup is somewhat easy, but the screen requires some work to get clean again. I use the plastic tab that holds the bag of carrots closed, and I scrape against the metal screen with the flat side to chop off any fibers in those holes.

After that, the brush easily cleans out the rest of the screen. Certain fibers,especially from ginger or pineapple, can cause a partial clog of the outlet chute. In the videos, it’s always a wide, flat bar of pulp coming out of the machine, but in my experience, the fibers clog the outlet partly, so that the pulp coming out is only 1/3 or 1/4 of the width of the entire chute.

I really like the cap on the juice spout, so I can pour off some of the juice in the cup when it gets too close to being full. I close the cap, the flow of juice just backs up inside the machine, I empty the glass, and then I reopen the cap slowly to let the accumulated juice gently flow out again.

I have never owned any other juicers. The one from Goodwill was rated in a consumer magazine dead last among over a dozen machines, and this one is often rated in first place, so I have no real experience with anything of a middle grade.

I do like the machine, and use it every few days to make enough juice to keep in the fridge for the next few days. But the cleanup isn’t quite as neat and easy as the videos show, the pulp isn’t really bone dry, and the pulp chute is usually not completely full with a wide bar of pulp coming out.

So my disappointment is more with a comparison to the videos, and not with a comparison with other machines. As far as I know, this could actually be the best machine out there. Certainly, the self-feeding feature works just as shown on the videos, and that is a very nice feature.

I don’t need to constantly use the push bar to shove things down the feeder opening into the machine. I just drop in the item, and then go back to slicing (say slicing a pineapple into small enough pieces to fit in the feeder tube).

It makes the operation very efficient. The vertical orientation makes the counter footprint pretty small, and the height is low enough to fit under my standard height cabinets over the counter. I can’t use it or disassemble it under the cabinets, but I can push it back out of the way when I am not using it.

Even though it disappoints in comparison to the fantasy presented in the videos, I still think this is a great machine, and I’m not likely to ever go looking for something better. In all likelihood, I already have the best machine out there.

Our standard recipe is a 5 pound bag of carrots, with tops removed, two large cucumbers, two limes, one lemon, one half-pineapple (for sweetness, or two sliced apples without the core), a chunk of ginger large enough to fill my hand, Everyone who gets a taste of that mix falls in love.

Ginger is a tricky item, because some ginger is very pungent, while other ginger less so, and too much ginger gives it a strong kick that is more than some people can enjoy. So every batch is different and unpredictable, in the amount of the hot kick it gets from ginger.

But yumm!.

This is the most versatile and dependable juicer I know of. Other than pre cutting celery or foods too large for the feed chute, this does everything with ease. Everything but the juicing screen rinses off in seconds; have to take time with the screen.

I suggest using a sive to cut down on pulp,you won’t regret that one little detail. I can juice twice a week and have juice every morning. I’ve watched every video YouTube has on these and as long as you let the juicer do its job,and don’t force it, this thing is AWESOME.

I like the Slowstar very much. It clean fairly easy, it does green juice very well but I strain the carrot beet juice. I haven’t done just fruit yet. I’ve used the mincer for banana blueberry ice cream.

It takes me 45 minutes from start to finish to do a 32 plus ounce of green juice and 30 ounces of carrot, beet, orange juices.

It’s does an overall good job it it didn’t get clogged all the time. The celery is a definite clog. I have learned that if I cut the celery down into little pieces that it’s not as stringy w long pieces and I t flows out better.

I bought this because it claimed you could use bigger piece of fruit and veggies and I thought It would be a lot less time consuming, but it’s not really. My other side juicer did better for half the cost.

It just took longer to grind it up. It is really easy to clean. Only 4 components. That not bad. It does also shut down if I try and reverse it and then go back forward. I pull it off thinking I might have some stuff clogged and there is nothing really in there.

So I am not sure why it does that. Plus I think you could have designed the receiving juice container to fit a little better up against the juicer. Wish I could be on the testing board. Ha. Not bad, but def not what I was hoping for for the cost.

When I juice fast with my fiancé, I make about 15 16-ounce jars of juice per day for the two of us, so I am extremely experienced when it comes to making juice and I spend about an hour with my juicer every day (including cleaning time) during our fasts.

I was so excited to finally be able to own a Nama Juicer after years of juicing with other, less expensive, juicers. I am 5 weeks into an extended juice fast and am extremely disappointed with my Nama J2, especially compared to the Breville I used through my previous 2 extended fasts Pros: – The juice does seem to stay fresh longer in the refrigerator and doesn’t separate as much as with a centrifugal juicer – The pulp feels a bit drier for some produce – although I don’t notice a significant increase in the amount of juice produced Cons: – The juice is extremely chunky – as in often hard to drink.

Because of this, my body is not resting from digestion as much as it typically does on a juice fast and I don’t have the increased energy I normally have. This is the biggest con for me. Everything else I can grudgingly deal with, but this is why I will never buy another Nama in the future.

– The area where the pulp comes out gets clogged constantly. It especially has issues with greens, celery, and pineapple. At times I have had to disassemble the juicer in the middle of the juicing process to unclog, which is difficult and messy.

It can’t even handle mint when it’s chopped up and cut up fennel is a disaster! – Even though technically you could fit whole fruits and veggies in the hopper, the juicer doesn’t operate well when you do that.

You have to cut things up. For hard veggies (carrots, sweet potato), anything stringy, or anything green, you need chunks smaller than 1″ in order for the juicer to function even remotely well Neutral: – Cleaning the juicer is about the same as with other juicers I have owned – The amount of juice created is about the same as other juicers – maybe slightly more, but not enough to really make a difference in the amount of produce I need to buy.

All is all, it is a far inferior juicer to the juicer I had before, at 3 times the cost. However, it does make juice that is tolerable and I don’t have the budget right now to get another juicer, so I will be finding a way to make it work.

Seriously — the Nama J2 is *phenomenal*! We owned a juicer previously, but had to feed in each (little) piece, one by one (= slow + annoying). The Nama J2 allows us to open the (large) lid and fill the whole container with veggies at one time, & ‘walk away’! (Amazing!) The juice is quickly made, tastes great, and has a clean consistency (no lingering fibers or ‘gunk’ in my fresh juice!)! We make multiple containers of juice at the same time and refrigerate it in small Ball canning jars.

The juice is polished off within 2 days, and it still tastes as great as when we initially juiced the veggies. (It’s likely more ideal to consume the juice right away, vice storing it, but we are still happy with the outcome doing it this way—and this is an adjustment we make, because of our current pace of life — ‘a bad run, is better than no run’ philosophy, right?! ;D) The Nama J2 is relatively quick & easy to disassemble and clean (unlike our previous machine).

& making large batches of juice means I am not cleaning the machine every day, anyway. (I do not have any complaint about what is involved in cleaning it. ) I rarely provide feedback for things we purchase — but for this Nama J2, I felt compelled.

There are so many competing juicers & an equal # of opinions ‘out there’ about which juicer is ‘best’. The Jama J2 can’t even really be compared with the other machines, though — what other juicers can you throw everything in at one time, and the juice comes out perfectly smooth and ready to drink?! (I don’t even have to strain the juice!) I hope this review can help to save you precious time (researching, watching side-by-side comparison videos, reading endless reviews & overviews of various machines…).

After using the Nama J2, there is no way I would even consider another machine. We have been 100% thrilled with this machine, and I believe you will be, as well (especially if you earnestly strive to care for your body!)! In short: we love this machine, and are so happy we purchased it.

It’s worth the investment (in yourself!)!.

This appliance is a game changer! We had a really great juicer before but this one makes the process quicker, more fun, more motivating, AND we know that we are getting more nutrients now from the masticating cold pressed process.

Favorite things about this juicer: you don’t have to chop up anything (unless you’re removing parts of produce that shouldn’t be juiced) – for example you can add a whole pineapple or a half of melon with the rind removed – no extra chopping!, it’s pretty fast – I was told I could walk away and come back when the juice is done (you can do that!) but it’s so quick I haven’t needed to, it’s easy to clean (easier than other juicers I’ve had in the past), the pulp comes out of the chute so nicely – pulp is also so dry so you know all the juice has been utilized.

Least favorite things about it: so far (been using it for a month now). nothing. I’m pretty obsessed. More things I love: The pulp can also be used for other recipes or composted, but way less mushy and messy than removing pulp with other juicers.

The cup for collecting the juice is large and holds a lot. You can close the juice chute if you aren’t ready to collect it yet and let it out when the cup is in place. I also like the size – it’s a big juicer (makes a lot at once!) but is still short enough to fit under our kitchen cabinets perfectly.

The most convenient and loved juicer, I highly recommend it and it’s worth the investment for your lifestyle and health! I began juicing multiple times a day because of how much I love to use this and currently am diving into a ten days juice cleanse.

I bring it with me when I travel to see family too because it isn’t too huge or difficult to pack. Having this product will change your life and MAKE you want to juice more!! Its really clear what the difference is between a cheap juicer and a nice one.

If I could only have one kitchen appliance it would be my Nama J2!.
