There are several ways to clean car headlights, but the most effective and safest method is to use a commercial headlight cleaner. Commercial headlight cleaners are designed to clean the headlight lens without damaging the headlight housing or the headlight bulb.
Headlight lens restore with disposable wipes in 2 minutes 3 Easy Steps – 1. Clean / 2. Dry / 3. Coat Finishing and coating with a UV protection layer for long lasting No tools or additional products needed Car headlight cleaning and restoration wipes these revolutionary wipes take old, foggy, oxidized or discolored headlights and restore them to their original shine.
No tools or additional products needed. No sanding needed. Works immediately. The entire process takes 2 minutes or less.
I must admit that I was a little bit wary when deciding whether to purchase. I had tried the toothpaste and the metal polish routine’s in the past, which had worked but took quite a while, and a lot of elbow grease.
So I went for it, and I am pleased to say these wipes worked for me. It took about five minutes from start to finish of using the actual wipes to complete. In my opinion you need to follow the instructions exactly, and in the UK especially at this time of year with our changeable weather, you need to allow a lot longer for the headlights to dry after completing the job.
I was fortunate that I could carryout this, and leave the car in the garage, which minimised the risk of dust etc being blown up by the wind and sticking to the headlights whilst they were still drying.
I will have to see with time, how long the headlights stay in the condition as they are now, whether they are value for money, I will say yes for now as they did save me time.
Applied to my Volvo XC70 headlights, closely following the instructions. The first stage did remove any grime from the lights and left them clean. The instructions made it clear that after this first stage the healight surfaces must be completely dried using kitchen roll or similar.
The second stage was a disaster, appeared to melt the plastic headlight lenses. When the coating was dry the headlights were covered in streaks and bumps of what looked like residual melted perspex all over the surface.
Surprisingly from about 10 feet away, the headlights look great, bright and clean, however on closer inspection the streaks are very clear. I am hoping that I will be able to remove these streaks and lumps using various grades of wet and dry then polish.
I used this on a 2007 Camry. It worked flawlessly and the complete task was extremely fast. It took about 20 minutes start to finish. Since this was my first time using this product I took my time to make sure I did it correctly.
I would expect my 2nd experience to be accomplished in less than 15 minutes. I originally bought 2 boxes one for each of my vehicles. I liked this better than the 2 others that i’ve tried. I will do another review in 3 months.
One of the other products that I used prior lasted 9 months before needing attention. I am very pleased with Headlight Restorer because it is extremely easy at a extremely low cost.

One of the best $18 I’ve ever spent. Jul 2020, I spent $30 on the 3M headlight kit (with multiple wet sanding and polishing steps). That took about 1 hour for both headlights. By Sep 2020, my headlights were hazing again.
By Mar 2021, yellowed and cloudy. This time, I went with Chemical Guys headlight polish. It almost took longer to tape-off the headlights than it did to polish them to a crystal-clear finish. I used a soft polishing pad with a drill.
A few dabs, polished twice, with a cloth buff in between, and they were clear. No sanding. No multiple steps. And it works very well. It didn’t take much polish. just several dime-sized dabs. The bottle should be enough for 30-40 headlights.
Return your car, truck or SUV to its original condition with the help of this 3M Headlight Restoration Kit. It is designed to repair lenses that are losing clear visibility. Using this car headlight restoration kit will increase the illumination capacity of fogged, yellowed, cloudy, hazy or dull looking parts by improving their performance.
It will not only enhance the appearance of the vehicle, but it will also increase road clarity for added safety. This kit is intended for use with a standard household drill with an RPM rating of 1200 to 1600, which is not included.
Simply follow the steps of sanding the parts to remove the yellow layer, refining or reducing the scratches, then polishing the headlight for clarity and shine. It even comes with detailed, simple to understand instructions for added convenience.
This easy to use headlight lens restoration kit is also ideal for clearing up the haze on your taillights and fog lights or directional lights.
I bought this to restore the headlights on my son’s car which were terrible. Did the first one per the instructions and it came out PERFECTLY! I mean that thing looks brand new. then spent the next 2 1/2 hours trying to get the second one to look the same.
They give you plenty of course and fine discs for the sand ing part but only 1 wet sand 3000 grit disc. There should be 2, one for each light. no matter how long and carefully I used it on the second light , it wouldn’t take the swirls from the fine disc sanding and I used up all the rubbing compound trying too.
They cleverly say you may need 2 kits. For 27 bucks you can’t add a second 3000 disc? Then the kit would be perfect and I wouldn’t be warning people to try something else.
I have used this product 3x. It works GREAT if the yellowing is not all the way through the plastic. 2/3 sets have came out looking new, the last set was still a dramatic improvement and don’t think it was a waste of time and money.
Tip 1: don’t try to use a cordless drill. They don’t have enough RPMs and I have the heavy duty Ridgid and DeWalt 18v. Use corded or air drill if you have a big enough compressor. The more RPMs the quicker and less work.
Tip2: Don’t skimp on masking. Ask me how I know. Tip3: this is going to sling rubbing compound spots on your clothes (washes out though). Plan on washing the car as soon as you are done b/c it is hard to remove once dried.
Take your time, follow the instructions carefully, and you will be amazed at the results. I spent at least an hour per-headlight both in preparation with two layers of masking tape, and with the sanding/polishing process.
This was on sixteen-year-old, heavily yellowed and clouded lenses. Once i felt I was finished with a step I would go ahead give it one or two more passes. What I removed looked like yellow, graded parmigiano cheese.
It’s a little scary because at one point in the process the lenses are completely opaque and frosty white, which is actually what you want to see. Then the final step is like magic and brings the lens back to a crystal clear state.
I finished off the lenses with 3M Quick Headlight Clear Coat UV Protection Restoration. The difference was remarkable, I understand it lasts at least a year before they slowly begin to noticeably yellow again.
The Rain‐X Headlight Restoration Kit provides a deep clean to yellowed, hazed headlights with the use of a specially designed polish and sealant. Over time, headlight lenses become oxidized rendering them hazy and yellow.
This causes headlights to shine less brightly, which is dangerous for the driver and others on the road. For the last 40 years, Rain‐X has provided drivers with products to help them outsmart the elements.
Note: Use only per label directions. Step 1: Remove any dirt or debris that may be present on headlight. Step 2: Spray headlight and polishing pads with Rain-X Lubricant. 1) Use polishing pad No. 1 in a firm diagonal motion (as shown in diagram) covering the entire headlight area, continue until headlight has a uniform color and texture. All yellowing should be removed at this step. An unclear appearance is normal at this point. Wipe clean and proceed to polishing pad 2. 2) Use polishing pad 2 in a firm linear motion until entire area of headlight has been treated at least twice and is uniform in appearance and texture. Wipe clean and proceed to polishing pad 3. 3) Use polishing pad 3 in a firm diagonal motion covering the entire headlight area until smooth to the touch. Wipe clean and allow to dry. Step 3: Apply generous amount of Rain-X Headlight Restorer onto microfiber cloth and rub and rub onto entire headlight area using a firm circular action. Repeat until all haze is removed and headlight has a clear appearance. Rinse with water and wipe dry. Step 4: Spray Rain-X Sealant onto a clean cloth or paper towel and apply uniformly to headlights.

I followed the application directions to the letter for this Rain-X product; but results were very poor and the headlights began to fade after a very short time. Save your money and buy “Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish!” It’s AWESOME and takes less than 2 minutes each headlight, with “like new headlights” results.
for less than $10 out the door. It’s about a 3 month fix, before fading begins; but no work to get awesome, like new results!. I’m surprised the “Rain-X Headlight Restoration Kit is so poor. Rain-X rain guard for windshields is good though.
They come from the factory that way coated with a UV protection to preserve their clarity. But eventually this coating wears off and the lenses on your vehicle become yellow dull and hazy. Its unavoidable and happens over time due to exposure to harsh UV rays dirt and other debris from the road.
Headlights with this condition are weak and scatter light creating glare for oncoming traffic. Not only does this condition reduce down road illumination by as much as 66 Percent but its a major safety concern for you your family and other drivers.
This is the best highlight restoration kit. It takes a lot of work because it’s all done by hand, but honestly, that’s the best part! You can absolutely do it all yourself! All you need is just clean water and paper towels, the kit has everything else! I watched the video a few times and followed the included instructions EXACTLY as given.
No shortcuts! The product works exactly as shown in the video, I honestly couldn’t believe it until the very last step and the headlight looked brand new! I could actually see the bulbs in their sockets!! I posted before and after pictures, there’s absolutely no joke here, they are the real thing from an 2002 Toyota Camry.
I followed the instructions, it took me a lot longer than 30 minutes because I took the time to prepare both headlights for that all important final UV coat, that’s what it’s all about, preparing the surface for that final UV clear coat.
Be sure to get both headlights prepped to just before that final step. You definitely don’t want to be cleaning the other light while the first one is curing (it would ruin all your effort). Get both headlights ready for the final step of applying the UV clear coat and after applying it, let it cure for at least an hour (I left mine overnight to make sure there would be no surprises).
The only thing I’d have done differently would have been to soak more UV clear coat on the cloth after every pass just to make sure it was a nice thick (long lasting) coat. The kit is so reasonable that even if I had to do it again, I absolutely would, but I have a feeling it’s going to last at least as long as the original, but probably a lot longer because the UV coat protects from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
To be sure, seller was amazing and sent me a second item after first got lost in the mail. The product itself was a huge letdown, caused by Sylvania cheaping out on the logistics. What a shame. My advice, if you want to use this product, do it on both headlights at once.
Application isn’t possible on one headlight at a time becuse Sylvania put in the pack only one (!) applicator for each stage. Good luck trying to apply the UV coat using the same applicator. 1 glove, 1 paper applicator, 1 paper towel, and the worst, a 2 cents minute spray bottle which stopped working on my first headlight.
I mean, how much more expensive would the package cost with a couple more towels and a decent spray bottle? Why cheap out on the cheapest items in the pack? I tried to make do applying the Activator with a paper towel, and probably that screwed up my second headlight.
The first one was a lot better, albeit not perfect. For the second one, I’ll have to find another product. So disappointing. To be sure, I have plenty experience in sanding, polishing and painting. It is my first headlight job, but I didn’t expect is to go awry, especially not failing due to inferior applicators.
Used a different product 18 months ago on my wife’s 2008 Toyota corolla. It came out okay. This product has a U. V. resistant clear coat. WOW. The old product. I think 3M was really nice in that it came with a pad and buffing ball you attach to a drill.
This comes pretty much set up so you have to do it all by hand. BUT it cuts way down on the amount of sanding, by providing a liquid that removes a lot of the yellowed plastic, per the directions I applied it first, waited a few minutes and the yellowed plastic was soft and wiped off.
My lights barley needed any sanding as they were in good shape from last year. I was in a hurry, I think I did the entire job in 25 minutes. It may take a few minutes more if you have to hand sand more.
I was not terribly concerned about how it would look, so i was not my usual meticulous self. The lights look FANTASTIC. Really like new, and with the U. V, protection I expect it will last several years.
If you are not sloppy. you can easily do 4 large headlights with the provided material. Excellent product.
Lens clarifying compound quickly removes surface discoloration and may be all that is needed to restore clarity. 3 multi-stage wet restoration pads focus on deeper discoloration and scratches. Sealing wipe helps protect from future yellowing and discoloration.
1. Wash headlight lens to remove surface dirt. 2. If lens to be restored is next to painted surfaces, use masking tape to protect the paint. 3. Apply lens clarifying compound to a cotton cloth. Rub compound over entire lens using firm pressure. Buff with clean terry cloth. Restore only one lens at a time. If lens does not come clean with lens clarifying compound, proceed to step 4. 4. Apply spray lube to level 1 pad (green pad) and to lens to be restored. Use pads on only those areas requiring restoration. Begin rubbing the level 1 pad, using firm finger pressure, in a back and forth motion over the lens, continuing until much of the oxidation is removed. Use the spray lube as necessary to keep the lens and pad wet. (The green level 1 pad will require the longest use.) 5. Immediately switch to the level 2 pad (brown). Rub back and forth in the opposite direction (90 degrees) of the level 1 pad for about 1 minute, keeping the pad and lens surface wet using the spray lubricant. Switch to the level 3 side of the final pad (purple) and repeat the process for 1 minute. Flip to the level 4 side of the final pad (blue) and repeat the process for 1 minute. 6. Dry the lens with a cotton towel. Apply lens clarifying compound and rub thoroughly back and forth until the lent clarifies. Let compound dry to a haze and buff with a cotton cloth. Lens clarifying compound can be applied by machine with a foam pad at 1500 RPMs. 7. Open the pouch containing the lens sealing wipe. Using plastic glove, coat the newly restored lenses with the wipe. This will help prevent future yellowing and dulling. Coating will dry and cure within 24 hours.
Contains products which may be harmful if misused, read warnings on each container. Keep out of reach of children.

I generally like the Turtle Wax products, but this one just didn’t work at all for me. Agree with others that the supplied sanding pads are very small and awkward to use. Used it on one side of my van’s plastic/acrylic headlights and made it substantially worse (compared it to the other headlight which was not touched).
Overcame the problem by using a hand-applied liquid polish followed by lamb’s wool buffing in a battery-powered electric drill. Comparing the result to the other headlight, the cleaned lens was visibly better and probably close to new.
Cleaned the other headlight to the “as new” condition. Used the Turtle Wax Lens Sealing Wipe to seal the surface of the cleaned lenses, so the kit wasn’t a complete waste. I wonder whether the Turtle Wax Headlight Cleaner & Sealant paste would have obtained as good a result as the liquid polish, at a lesser price.
I’ve used a competitors’ headlight lens restorer before, but couldn’t find it at local stores. Instead I decided to try this Turtle Wax product. So glad I did! It was very easy to use, and the results make the lights look as they were right out of the showroom (2013 Honda).
One thing to note: Follow the instructions EXACTLY. On one lens I used the sanding steps but overlooked the “Repair & Renew” application AFTER sanding. Lens was a bit cloudy. Luckily it was easy to start over and results were perfect.
I highly recommend this product and will buy it again.
Meguiar’s Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit is the easy way to obtain professional results and eliminate the need for buying a replacement part. It restores clarity to uncoated clear plastics with a standard corded drill.

Meguiars Heavy-Duty Headlight Restoration Kit is easy to use.
My headlights were really yellow on my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. A couple of years ago, I tried a competitor’s product that didn’t work, and caused me to scratch up one of my headlights to the point that I did not use the product on the other headlight.
I purchased this Meguiars Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration kit with a little trepidation as it wasn’t inexpensive and I expected it not to work. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the headlights came out.
They look darn good right now, although the one headlight that I screwed up with my previous attempt at restoring it still has the scratches that I caused, but that headlight is still vastly improved.
Now I must wait to see how long these excellent results last. I hope that one year as advertised is true, otherwise I will be a little disappointed.
This product is AMAZING! We used it on a 08 and 06, both with aged factory plastic headlight lenses. It was a last ditch effort to avoid a $400 per side replacement bill. It took a max of 30 min per car and was soooooooooooo worth it!.
It made both set of headlights clear like new. It was so amazing that 2 set of neighbors who watched us complete the application commented in shock and asked what product we were using. Wish I would have taken a before and after picture.

Features: Restores faded oxidized, yellow headlights Easy to use solution to restore the clarity to the headlight in 1 quick wipe Longest lasting, UV durable formula that outlasts the competition Protects the surfaces from further fading while restoring the original sheen & luster.
I spent the ten minutes on each lamp with the green side of hand sander pad and ten minutes on each lamp with the grey side of sander pad. All while keeping the surface wet. I was out of the direct sun in the garage at about 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
I dried lamp throughly and waited about 20 minutes and applied the clear sealant in simple long straight strokes across the lamp and let it dry for 24 hours before letting them get wet. If you read all the instructions a couple times before you start you should be fine.
My headlights were about 50% foggy compared to the worst I’ve seen and the product brought them to like new condition. I recommend this product.
There are many headlight restoration kits on the market, but most involve a great deal of sanding steps and a drill. I discovered this one in a “As Seen On TV” section in CVS and bought it. What a joy.
Two simple sanding steps with the provided pad, no drill required. And the wiping rage gives an instant glassy surface. It uses a solution of solvents and polymers to create a new crystal clear layer of plastic on the lens.
I was considering buying one online but thought i would try O’Reilly’s first. It was in stock at a good price. I’m going back for more to have a supply on hand.
I decided to try the Wipe New Headlight Restore kit for my 2006 Honda after spending upwards of $150 each time the dealership restored the headlights. Their restoration lasted about 6-8 months before the lenses began to cloud over again.
Read the directions THOROUGHLY, do the prep work as stated, follow each step accurately, and definitely do the work in a WELL ventilated area. (I used the product in my open door garage and the smell was awful.
The smell started to seep into the house). After completing the job I set up an 18″ floor fan at the front of the car and blew the odor out of the garage which definitely helped lessen the odor in the garage and eliminated the smell indoors.
Pay close attention to the final step and ensure your single wipe strokes slightly overlap the prior wipe stroke and do NOT go over the the wet area again. I did the restoration in early May and the headlights still look like new.
It has made a huge improvement for low light and night driving not only for me but for on coming traffic who can now more clearly see my vehicle. I am an over 60 year old woman and I found the process to be relatively easy, it didn’t take much time to complete, and I saved a ton of money by doing it myself.
I highly recommend this product and will use it again.

Precision compounds polish away cloudy surface oxidation and restore clarity to lightly damaged plastic lenses. The combination of OEM cleaner acrylic resins and silicone resins fill and seal the lens to provide a lasting protective barrier in a single application.
Turtle Wax 2-in-1 Headlight Cleaner and Sealant can be used for preventative maintenance to keep new or like-new lenses clear or to clean and restore lightly oxidized lenses.
I tried this on two cars, one a 2009 Mitsubishi Colt and the other a 2014 Renault Clio. The Colt, despite being older, cleaned up better, 80% on one headlight, and about 90% on the other. Very pleased.
On the Renault, which was newer, it was not nearly as good, despite being similar in terms of oxidation. Only about a 50% improvement, despite 20 minutes of reapplication and rubbing. Perhaps the headlight material was slightly different, or the oxidation more heavily concentrated, hard to say.
Overall, not bad for the price paid. However, on the Repco website it was advertised at $14. 25 and when I purchased in-store I was charged $15. 20. Puzzled over the price difference and not that happy.
Designed to quickly and safely restore, maintain and protect all types of smooth, shiny plastic and acrylic headlights to crystal clarity. It easily cleans away yellowing and stains, and even buffs out unsightly hairline scratches, smudges, and flaws in a single step.
The included PowerPlastic 4Lights polish restores crystal clarity, leaving a tough protective, oxidation- inhibiting polymer layer to guard against future degradation from the elements. Important – Run drill clockwise.
Surface must be clean and dry. It is advised to mask off the area around the surface being restored with painter’s tape. 1. Attach PowerBall to any variable speed drill and tighten drill chuck. Apply a coin sized amount of Power Plastic to centre of the ball.
2. Start drill motor slowly to avoid slinging. Adding polish as needed. Polish in small areas until entire lens is clean and clear using back and forth, overlapping motions. 3. Buff clean with a microfibre towel.
Turn towel frequently for best buffing action. The lens should be crystal clear. Repeat process as necessary.
Worked as advertised and I now have crystal clear headlights (2003 Honda Accord). I used a corded power drill and I am glad I did because I don’t think my cordless DeWalt drill would be up to the task (not enough sustained torque).
Take your time and follow the directions. On the second headlight I spent a little too much time on one spot with the finer grit disk and overheated the plastic causing it to melt slightly. I went back to the coarser grit disk, sanded out my mistake, and continued with the steps for a perfect finish.
Don’t worry about messing it up because you can go back and ‘fix’ mistakes; you just need patience. Took about one and a half hours to finish both headlights.
The 1 Selling headlight kit just got better. Turtle Wax Speed Headlight is an easy 4-step solution for cloudy and oxidized headlights. The kit includes: a precision polishing pad to remove surface oxidation, proprietary Headlight Lens Repair and Renew compound to improve clarity and 2 Ceramic Acrylic Wipes to seal and protect from future damage.
The Headlight Lens Repair and Renew uses exclusive platelet technology to remove scratches, swirl marks and severe oxidation and yellowing from headlight plastic better than ordinary compounds. The all-new non-linting ceramic acrylic wipes preserve headlights for up to 6 months.
Great product! I’m a woman and it took me no time to clean my headlights. They were so clear a couple of guy’s commented on what a good job I did! Con: The pad thats included in the package could’ve been bigger! I have small hands and the pad was difficult for me to use.
So, I know guy’s will have a difficult time holding the small pad. It should be at least the size of a coaster. i should’ve taken a before and after pictures. Sorry.

Sand, refine, polish to restore cloudy and dull headlights Improve nighttime visibility and brightness Easy four-step process – mask, sand, refine and polish Enough compound for two lenses Requires a 1200-1600 RPM power drill, sold separately.
I used this kit on our 2008 Mazda3, bought new in September, 2007, and whose headlamps haven’t been touched since. They were so badly yellowed and fogged that you could hardly see the headlamps behind the plastic.
Now the plastic covers are clear as glass and look almost new. So why only a four-star review? There are some issues with this kit. Firstly, the instructions say, to apply “Synthetic Wax Protectant (sold separately).
Say what? Sold separately??? I just dropped $$ for a headlight restoration kit and they want me to buy additional product to protect my work?? Secondly, the masking tape they provide, which is essential to keep from burning the paint off adjacent bodywork, is the cheapest sh*t ever made — and utterly not waterproof, which is essential, since one of the steps is wet-sanding.
As soon as this sub-par tape sees water, it immediately fails. Take my advice — use a quality masking tape of your own, or even consider duct tape (if you have sound, factory paint). The 3000 grit sanding disk can’t really be peeled off the velcro of the sanding disk holder — its flannel backing, which sticks to the velcro, is so poorly adhered to the 3000 grit paper, that it peels off the paper rather than the entire flannel-backed 3000 grit paper coming off, so that pad isn’t effectively reusable (there are two, but good luck if you want to reuse one).
The instructions say to dry sand the first two grits, which I did on the first headlamp. But the paper loads up when dry and leaves marks of melted plastic on the lens. On the second one, I decided to wet-sand each grit (the paper appeared to be wet-dry, and it was), which works SO MUCH BETTER! So my recommendation is to wet-sand each grit (see note about crappy masking tape).
All that said, you can do a quite decent job with this kit. But beware of its cost-cutting here and there.

Used on a 22 year old BMW 530i that were past severe in their deterioration. After wet sanding one headlight came to the conclusion that the three grades of supplied sanding discs were not sufficient.
Picked up a broader range of wet sanding paper to start coarser and filled in between the 1k, 2k, 3k supplied. This worked much better on the second light and reworking of the first. End result looks very good.
Time will tell if ceramic coating holds up. NOTE: Product description states kit comes with nitrile gloves. This is not the case. Mine was supplied with clear vinyl gloves. and we all know how well vinyl holds up.
Luckily I had a supply of nitrile on hand. Kit appears to be the same as the Cerakote restoration kit that can be had for less $. Both appear to have same warranty.

It works well but I could have had a similar result with some wet and dry sandpaper (included in the kit) and some clear plastic polish (also included in the kit) and saved money. I can’t help but think you are paying for the ‘wool’ buffer drill attachment, which unfortunately seemed to be no different from my 12v handheld buffing machine.
I just masked the edges off and used that instead. That being said however, the kit actually did do a good job. I used step 1, which took off a good amount. Also, as mine were in quite bad condition I followed the ‘tough job’ guide next.
This involved wet sanding with the supplied pads. As I had never done any wet sanding before I was quite nervous about ‘messing it up’ and doing a bad job, potentially causing permanent damage. Despite this, I had the added assurance I was using the correct grit sandpaper and followed the instructions closely.
Result! They came up gleaming and looking much better. Annoyingly some of the damage is on the inside, which means it is not affected by this product. Needless to say they do look much better and it will keep them going until I can afford to replace them.
I was sceptical but went ahead and bought it. My headlights were very cloudy and would have failed an MOT. I thought the cloudiness was inside the headlight units but a Halfords member of staff went with me to my car and said it was oxidation and could be made like new.
It was actually so easy to use and after starting spraying the headlights with water and rubbing down with the small pads i started to see a huge difference. It only took less than 1 hour and the lights look like new – honestly.
I keep going to my car just to admire my handiwork! Its a Honda CRV about 14 years old and the headlights now look like new. I dont normally do reviews but given my initial fear of doing the restoration and it not working i’m glad I bought the product rather than have a Car Valet firm charge me a lot more.
I confess i went to a Car Valet firm before Halfords in Bangor, NI but they wanted my car for over 2 hours and – couldnt do it there and then! Yes, for me, the product worked and is excellent value.
Bought this product as the headlights on my wifes Honda CRV were looking quite dull and yellowing and also the safari spot lights on my Nissan Xtrail had gone the same. I thought that at just over £16, it was worth giving a go.
In just over an hour, I had cleaned both sets of lights and could not believe my eyes. The CRV headlights are like 90% brand new and the Xtrail spot lights are like brand new. I can’t recommend this product highly enough – not enough stars.
Just attach the wooly pad attachment to a battery drill, add some of the cream cleaner to the pad, place on the light and start the drill slowly at first, gradually increasing the speed. Ensure that you go all over the light and then wipe with a clean cloth.
Repeat as necessary. Went over the CRV lights 4 times each and the Xtrail spots and headlights twice. Still have half the bottle of cream left and pad can be washed under the hot water tap ready for next time.
This 3M Headlight Lens Restoration Kit is a collection of professional-grade products assembled specifically for removing the cloudy, yellowed haze that builds up on automotive headlight lenses. Kits use a system of light abrasives to keep vehicles looking great and save money vs.
replacing expensive lenses. They include complete directions, 3M Trizact sanding discs, pads, tape and polishes.
I actually used it to remove scratches from my motorcycle windscreen and it worked very well. My advice is don’t get discouraged when you get to the polishing step just keep at it and keep polishing till it’s how you like it, the final polish took the longest time.

I’ve tried a few different brands of headlight restore kits. Thought I’d try this because I’ve never liked the ones that require a drill, and it sounds like there would be left over product for future use.
Long story short, yes the end result is better and less cloudy than before use. However there is noticeable ‘orange peel’ texture from the spray. The scouring pad is also not very abrasive, basically a dishwashing scouring scrub.
There were also several droplets from the spray that left droplet marks on the headlight. I my opinion the “Wipe New” product from Rustoleum is significantly better. I returned this kit after unimpressive results.
