My dog tends to be a picky eater and if she does not like something, there is no way you are going to get her to eat it. I bought this sauce topper as a means to add additional chicken flavor and a variety to her food.

First off, I absolutely hate the way you have to open the container. You can’t!! I had to get some scissors and cut it over the sink and a bunch of it spilled into the sink – so that was a waste. In any case, I put some on her food.

She smelled it, took a little taste and walked away. A few days passed, and I suffered through the opening of a container and poured it on her food. Nope. Not happening. She loves chicken as a rule. There is something about the makeup of this sauce topper that is not appealing to her nose or her tastebuds.

So I have tossed this item in the trash.

My Dexter LOVES these Bone Broth pourovers and the bone broth is good for their liver detoxification. He had liver shunt surgery March 4th and is thriving. He had to be put on a special food which is tolerated but with this added to it he dances in circles barking at me until I finish fixing his bowl and he can dive into it.

I put some in a bowl and cut up some green beans and microwave until warm and then mix it in with his dry kibble and it’s fit for a King – King Dexter, that is. I highly recommend these Pourovers. I love that there are little bits of carrots in them.

He has gained 3 lbs. since his surgery but I am walking him in the morning around the cul-de-sac and rather than a full cup of kibble I give him 3/4th a day to allow for the added calories in the Pourovers.

The vet suggested I add canned green beans with his food as they are so low in calories and will help to fill his little tummy up with more goodness. The ONLY negative thing I have to say is I hate the packaging – it’s impossible for me to open the way the instructions say to on the container so I cut the top off with a huge knife and pour it into a sealable bowl and refrigerate it after opening.

I hope for those of us who hate the packaging we will all get on The Honest Kitchen website and request a change in the packaging.

My 13 yo dog had 5 teeth removed and not only was it difficult for him to eat hard kibble. but he suddenly decided that he didn’t like the food I had been giving him. This topping is a great way to add flavor as well as moisten his food.

I add about a tablespoon and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Sometimes I even warm it in the microwave. He loves it. And I love that the ingredients are pure and simple, and – mostly – from quality North America sources.

I’ve only been feeding this for a week, so I can’t make any comments about health benefits, but I know pumpkin and salmon are good for him. And he’s eating!.

I went into the PETCo to get some food for my dog and while I was there, the employee (Chris) and I started the conversation on my 18 yr old cat. She needs a broth ( to go with her Pate – for medication) and all the cat ones have chunks of meat she will not eat.

He mentioned this product for her. I bought 1 to try. She loves it. Her bowl is empty which means she’s getting her meds and there is less smell. I was paying $2. 00 a serving with the ones she wouldn’t finish.

I have given her 6 feeding and still have a few left at only $2. 99 a carton. I’m going back today to get some other flavors. I’d give this product and Chris 10 stars if available.

I bought these moist food packets a couple weeks ago as a vitamin rich supplement to my dog’s regular diet. I have three breeds an American Standard Bull Terrier weighing 68 lbs; a Boston Terrier weighing 23 lbs; and a Pekingese/chihuahua cross (Peka-chi) weighing 5 lbs.

They all seem to be more active. Usually one or another will have difficulty or show no change when moist foods are added to the diet. This time it’s different.

I have seen this product many times, but have always opted to try different brands because it isn’t available in single containers like others I’ve seen are. I have to say it’s totally worth the price.

The consistency and the choices in this broth rank much higher than other brands in my opinion. You can also easily seal this right back up so you can really potion how much you want to give your dog per meal.

I’ve used enough to just wet my dogs kibble and he has really enjoyed it and I have too. This will definitely be a product we would like to keep purchasing!.

I have always been a great fan of Zesty Paws products. Zesty paws supplements are my dog’s favorite. My dog became so excited when I bring out the supplements, and usually finished it as much as possible.

And the probiotics supplements really helped my dog a lot. I can see the effectiveness in 3 days! However, I do have to take one star out because the supplement is hard to take. The bottle leaks a little bit at the sealing caps.

It is really hard to “shake well” without making a mess. Second, since I have a slow feeding bowl for my dog. The supplements sticks to the bottom of the bowl and made my dog hard to get some of the dry dog food because those dry food stuck at the bottom of the bowl together with this supplements.

Things will be easier, if I just give this supplements separately to my dog. Overall, I love this product for its effectiveness and for how much my dog loves it. But I do prefer a better sealing cap, or a product in a different form, like a heart-shaped tablet would be my preference.

i have a pitbull with lots of allergies! She’s white and back. A few weeks ago she was struggling with her allergies, scratching to the point she was making herself bleed. I came here and bought a bunch of different shampoos and ointments then saw this , figured I would give it a try.

Well she loves it and it helped her the first week. I am maybe a month into using this and she doesn’t scratch or lick her paws like she was constantly doing. If you have a pitbull or any dog that suffers with skin issues just give this a try! It’s worth just trying it to see if it helps! I will absolutely be ordering her more just to keep the suffering away.

Also I haven’t even used the shampoo yet I tried this first and it worked immediately. Everything has bad and good reviews but you don’t know how it works until you try it. This is definitely worth trying!.

My dog sometimes struggles with drinking enough fluids. In the summertime, keeping her hydrated is especially important since it’s so hot out. I mixed up some of this broth and added it to her kibble and she absolutely LOVED it and licked up every drop.

I love how convenient this is. With other premixed broths I’ve bought before, you have to use the entire pouch once opened. Being able to mix up broth as we need it is super convenient and less wasteful.

I’ve also found this is a great option for traveling, as I can measure out the powder I’ll need in a plastic baggie and mix it once we need it. Definitely would recommend this.

I am always looking for yummy toppers or mix ins to add to Quake’s food. I love being able to add a little variety to his everyday kibble and I love the benefits that beef bone broth offers. The extra nutrients help support immune, heart, and joint health.

But it also adds some yummy flavor for picky eaters. I will add 1/2-1 tablespoon to his dinner with some warm water or I’ll even make frozen treats with this beef bone broth, plain yogurt and banana.

One thing I don’t love is the packaging but I have just added to my own jar so I am better able to seal it up! Highly recommend to anyone looking to spice up kibble and add awesome nutritional value.

Our 3 year old GWP has always been a finicky eater with a body composition in the 2-3 range. This has always concerned us, especially during hunting season when he’s going 9-10 miles a day in the fields.

We started mixing the topper with water on his food twice a day and he races to gobble it up. In fact, he’s gone from turning his head away from his kibble (with his stomach easily heard rumbling) to now telling us it’s time for breakfast or dinner.

Within the last month, he’s put on a few pounds and is now closer to the ideal range for his weight. I’ve signed us up for the subscription delivery because I never want to be without this stuff.

I’m. stunned first, and really impressed second. I “inherited” the family cat (Chico) was on dry food when he was brought over (Friskies). Got him a water fountain and was searching for foods to help with his overall health in his elder years.

Came across this broth recommend with the Salmon Dry food. Knew he needed more fluids to go through his system, and wanted to give something for his food. Switching the dry food was easy enough, since he loves salmon.

But when I added that broth, he was lapping it up before nibbling up the dry food. It was incredible to see such a behaviour shift! I need to try some of the rustic wet foods now that he has had a taste of the broth.

Shipping was great. Neatly packaged and of course, he went into the box, like most cats would do. I’m definitely sticking with this brand. Most of the family list hope on getting him to a healthier food type, as he was picky on switching dry foods, and was having bathroom issues.

But this brand of food not only did the trick for his picky preference, his bathroom issues have practically disappeared. Again, completed stunned first, and highly impressed second. If you’re looking for something to switch up your pets on, give this a try at the very least.

Start small and see if they go for it. Love and care is reflected in our pets, but making sure they have the best foods they can get is never a bad idea to look into of one hasn’t started.

My pup LOVES this bone broth. I had to start teaching her to sit and wait until I finish fixing her bowl or else she would keep leaping up into the air until I set the bowl down. I got my dog from a previous owner who had her on kibble.

I’m currently transitioning her to a new, healthier food. This broth has really helped. The transition was tough because she only wanted the new food and sometimes she wouldn’t eat from her bowl at all because of the old kibble.

I started using this broth to mix with the food and help her transition. It warms my heart to now see her get so excited for her food and I know I made the right decision. I though I would only need the broth to get her to eat her old food but seeing how much she loves it I will continue to buy it for her even after the transition.

I have two kittens and one of them had sooooo much trouble eating. I would try out different food and she would take a bite or two and then walk away or just wouldn’t at all (unlike her brother who would eat literally anything).

I was feeling desperate and found this website after doing a bunch of research. I bought the chicken/salmon wet food and the chicken broth. I picked this one out especially because she is also very picky about texture and only likes things that are basically the texture of puree.

I purchased this and it came just a few days later. She loved it so much! She ate the whole bowl!! Never seen her eat so excitedly before. Would definitely recommend this to all cat owners especially picky ones like mine.

I drink bone broth regularly myself, and I know how nutritional it is, and despite how concerned I am about my dog getting adequate nutrition, Id never thought about it being an option for him until now! My dog is a 6 year old toy poodle who is incredibly picky but also very sensitive to a lot of foods.

It instantly caught my eye because it says that it’s human grade and the packaging looks just like the bone broth I purchase for myself. The ingredients are plainly listed and are all real, wholesome food ingredients; not additives or fillers.

My dog loved the taste of this broth; he was super excited when I put it in front of him and he ate all of his food, which he sometimes doesn’t do because he doesn’t have a great appetite. Because he’s small, a little goes a long way for him which makes this an affordable product for me.

I’m not sure that’d be the case for bigger dogs, but either way I highly recommend this broth because of the quality of the ingredients and the nutritional benefits. I’ll be buying it from now on.

I have one dog (shepsky) whom is a very picky eater and another (French bulldog) who is like a garbage pail. I knew the Frenchie wouldn’t have any issues with trying this. I was worried about the shepsky.

Surprisingly the shepsky ate all of her food with the Merrick food topper added to it. Normally she will pick through her food and sometimes not eat all of it. I gave each dog around a 1/4 cup or less.

I was worried that they would have bathroom problems later. Neither dog had any bathroom issues. I like the that ingredients are simple. I understood everything that was in this. It almost sounds like a bone broth that humans could use for cooking.

I like that there was added turmeric to give them a boost of superfoods. The packaging is nice and simple and the twist off cap was easy to use as well. Overall I am pleased with this topper for my dogs.

I didn’t believe my new friend about what a huge difference bone broth would make in our older boy. I was wrong! Within a week of squirting a bit of broth onto his food at each meal, our lil buddy would leap and jump around us when we got home, ran across the room, is “bright eyed and bushy tailed” again.

And then takes his nap but, he’s old and overweight and has Cushings Disease, so he should take naps! His preference is TURKEY over beef, which surprised us. Just a little squirt onto each meal has made such a difference in his life! My ONLY issue is that FedEx isn’t as quick as UPS.

My dog has become a very very picky eater. This is the one food I can count on for her to eat. It’s great on its own and a wonderful add on to dry food. The only reason I give four stars is because I have had a very difficult time finding it recently.

But overall my dog loves this food!!.

My dog has a sensitive tummy, Natures Recipe is for him. We use this with some cooked chicken breast and our dog loves it!! He loves all of the different flavors! He likes this , just the plain chicken.

He also loves the Tuna one as well. These are good for him and real meat so we don’t have to worry about his tummy getting upset.

I tend to change up the addition to my dogs’ Blue Buffalo kibble to keep it interesting for them. Have used the HK PourOvers, Weruva packets, and Stella and Chewy dinner patties. They LOVE this bone broth.

Might be the favorite thing in rotation, and definitely the most economical. I tried the beef and the turkey and they loved both. My one pittie has allergies to poultry and grain, so this is great for him.

And my other picky pittie (who favors the Duck Duck Goose Stella patties, which are expensive) loves it too. Win win for everyone involved — tasty for the pups, economical for mom. I also obviously feel good giving this to them because of the ingredients.

For ten bucks, it’s worth giving it a try. If your dogs don’t like it, it doesn’t feel like a huge waste.

Just as it says. My German shepherd is pure bred, so he has a sensitive stomach. Gut issues. He had diarrhea or constipation. We tried everything vets recommended and nothing worked. I decided to add this broth to my dogs kibble after reading about the benefits, and his poops are so healthy and solid! He doesn’t strain and he’s more active and happy.

Expensive, but worth it. My fur baby developed diarrhea. I purchased “Under the Weather”, freeze dried chicken and rice with Electrolytes, for several small meals per day. Smells so good, he loved it, the real plus were the Electrolytes.

When I told my vet, she was thrilled and asked to keep the empty package to tell other clients. What sold her were the Electrolytes. He ate this for 5 days and included some of it we gradually introduced his regular food.

My doctor recommended a bland diet and just food for dogs (JFFD) balance remedy. My dog wouldn’t eat it until I mixed it with Under the Weather (UTW). My dog loves UTW food. I use half broth and half water when I mix it.

When I add the food to the boiling liquid she can smell it. She gets excited and paces in the kitchen until the food is ready. Since it’s a little pricy I mix one bag of the rehydrated food with one bag of (JFFD) balance remedy.

This provides me with enough food for 4 days. My dog is 12years old and weighs 16lbs.

My pup loves them- i break them into smaller chunks and use them as a crunchy, tasty, low-calorie treat during training sessions when she’ll be getting lots of treats (higher-calorie or higher-sodium treats aren’t the best in that scenario).

Imagine my surprise, though, when my box turtle started chasing down the crumbs from these treats, too, though! Now he gets one of these every couple of weeks, too— not a regular food source of course, but a special treat he looooves that also happens to be a hard, crunchy one that’s good for keeping his beak in shape (texture is like a cuttlebone, almost, but coarser).

Izzy Pup absolutely loves the taste of them. I absolutely love the quality of them. My Labrador is thirteen years old and has developed allergies. Turkey is the only meat I can feed him. Like with honest Kitchen limited ingredient turkey dehydrated food it’s been awesome.

Over a year and a half Izzy Pup still loves them.

These are amazing. What’s best is their irregular shape, because they are the perfect size for a barbell kong. Sometimes she has a lot of trouble getting them out, and sometimes they’ll fall right out, so we put a few in there and she goes crazy.

Also clearly high quality ingredients. Great product!.

My 16 year old shiba inu has been slowing down over the years as expected with age. I recently noticed that her hips seemed to be bothering her more than usual. I purchased this product because it’s a good topper that all my kids could enjoy while also giving her the extra boost she needed for her joints.

Within a week I was seeing her spunk come back. She gets to playing with her sisters (2 & 3 years old) like she was their age. A family friend noticed the change in her and wanted to try some for his baby.

They are as happy with this product as we are, maybe more so. It is absolutely worth the purchase. I saw another reviewer mention the cartons were more expensive than other stores and arrived damaged.

I can say that the cartons sometimes get a little tossed around in the box with our 22lb bag of dry food, but I haven’t had any issues with broth itself. No leaks and my kids love it! So it remains a part of our auto ship orders until chewy doesn’t carry it anymore.

behaviour – as per the breed, extremely active and play-motivated / a bit obsessive. that being said, he couldnt really care less about food unless its in a b-a-l-l. and even then once he wins the game of getting them out, he often doesnt want them.

– also by way of being so active, food is really important to keep him properly fueled! but he just. does not care. hes never cared about food, no matter how high value. ive tried a number of kibbles from brands like orijen, instinct, acana, solid gold, natures instinct, etc.

high quality foods, with everything from home cooked meals, frozen animal meat and bone, human-grade, broth, gravy, can, etc. he just doesnt care. even fresh hunted venison! health concerns – his entire life hes had seemingly random tummy issues.

runs, constipation, etc. hes also a but of stressy / nervous boi. all of this makes it a bit of an ordeal just to get two meals in him. ive tried supplements, allergy food- everything. (disclaimer: he goes to the vet regularly and for all checkups / vaccinations- blood panels / urine / stool etc.

they say hes fine maybe just picky ha) case recently he had some really rough diarrhea and constipation, drooling nausea, tail tucked, clearly didnt feel good- so i stripped back his diet to only his kibble without treats or dental chews or mixers / toppers but the problem persisted.

i tried this bone broth noting the great ingredients and the lavender and chamomile (which i have when my tummy hurts so worth a shot right?) and he evened out almost instantly! not only does it help him, but it perks his ears up for dinner!! serving i started w 1/4 cup for the whole day for about a week then moved up to 1/2 cup for the whole day.

i personally recommend starting on a sliding scale like this, see how pup reacts! especially like the turneric or ginger ones- slow introductions are always best for doggy tums! storage i put the cap back on and stored the pouch for a week and on day 7 it was still good, he still liked it, and it still helped! i shake it before i pour it.

other products just tried the beef + turmeric (hes got some sore joints now) and he ate the kibble he was previously refusing to touch (or even look at, haha!) i also ordered the turkey + ginger one.

other note the broth is great when my pups tum isnt feeling good. who wants to eat while their nauseous? its a great idea and execution andddddd andandand it adds more hydration to their super dry kibble! thank u solid gold n chewy! love this product, really eased a lot of worries!.

My fur baby loves this dog food. She is such a picky water that it has been hard to find a food that she actually likes that is also a healthy choice for her. I don’t like to give her food with all the additives and stuff so Nature’s Recipe was a great choice.

It actually looks like “REGULAR FOOD”. It is a bit more expensive that the other dog foods. But it is totally worth it for my picky eater. She eats 4 to 5 of the packs for 1 meal. She is a pug mix and weighs about 30 lbs.

Feeding my dog has been a challenge! We have to constantly change his food because he just stops eating it! We buy the variety pack of this “wet dog food” he loves it! Every now then we change it up when we see he doesn’t want to eat this once when we go back to it he loves it!.

I’ve tried so many products to get my picky eater to get her food. None of them worked. I came up with a method where she now licks her bowl clean and wanting more. I boiled chicken breast and carrots grind it up in my Bullet.

Then I grind up her kibble. She wouldn’t eat it if I mixed the kibble in it. She would pick out the chicken but wouldn’t eat the kibble. Then I thought if I mixed the broth left from the boiled she would eat it.

She wouldn’t eat that either. I did some research looking for the best bone broth for dogs. I read the reviews for Brutus Bone Broth and thought I would try it. I’m so glad I purchased this “Liquid Gold”!!! I put a layer of the ground up kibble on the bottom of her bowl then a layer of chicken on top of the kibble then I put a layer of carrots on top of the chicken.

Then I pour the Brutus Bone Broth on top to top it off. I’ve been doing this for a couple of weeks now and she eats every bit of it. She keeps going back to her bowl licking it looking for more. I love this stuff but most importantly “My baby Cree loves this stuff”!! WHOO HOO!!!!.

I love this bone broth! I didn’t know they came in different flavors! I was so used to just walking by & grabbing some until I realized I had picked up a beef & chicken. My husky loves either or so that is a plus! I would say he is extremely picky when it comes to his dry kibble being too soft so now I learned to not let it sit.

If there is any extra bone broth in his bowl he will lick the bowl clean! I originally purchased this to add more calories to my husky’s meals since when I first got him, he was very skinny. This is an easy way of adding more calories when I don’t have time to add his wet food, pumpkin puree & fish oil.

Love this broth & I will always keep a couple at the house to make sure he does not run out. I do see myself purchasing this for him no matter what age. I highly recommend!.

This product is real bone broth! I make my own and just like homemade broth it has a gelled texture meaning it has a high level of collagen the healing and joint protecting properties I use bone broth for.

The twist lid is easier to twist open than some competing brands. The only difficulty is even after shaking well it is still so gelled it is hard to get out of the squeeze container. Perhaps a glass jar would be better and use a spoon.

The other thing I noticed the amount needed to be considered a serving to a dog over 20pds would use up the little pouch in 2 servings practically. However I like the product and my 2 dogs between 30-40pds LOVE the flavor and gobble this up with their dry kibble.

I even squeeze the product into our slow feeder maze food bowl no problem it gets slurped every last drop. I would buy more it’s real bone broth as it should be gelled not runny like a soup.

My dogs loves this, alot better than other wet food we have tried him with. Our dog is not food driven, he will just not eat if he doesn’t like it, but with these toppers there is no need to add a cheeky bit of cheese on top to get him to eat it.

The quality you can see opening your first tin, you can see the chicken and the vegetables, it isn’t processed into meat chunks. On the plus side we have seen Improvements in his tummy and teeth, since changing to this topper too.

Also I did my research and the company that owns this company cares about the quality of dog food, which gives me reassurance that we can trust the brand.

Saw these and hadn’t ever tried my dog with food toppers, so thought I’d give it a go. Can’t go wrong with these as my dog loves chicken and there’s quite a bit of chicken in these. Gave this to my dog with his usual dry food and he gave me back a clean bowl, which was amazing.

For context, he is quite a fussy eater & had never had this brand before so was a little skeptical, but seeing as it was very affordable, wasn’t too fussed if he ended up not liking it. It’s not the nicest smelling dog food but my dog seemed to really enjoy this so I will be buying more.

Absolute bargain!.

My goldendoodle has a sensitive stomach. For awhile, I was making him homemade dog food. Since we travel a lot and that’s hard to do with homemade dog food, I wanted to find a dry dog food that my doodles stomach agreed with – something high quality and reputable.

This food has excellent ingredients and none of those bad additives that you normally see on dog food ingredient lists. I will say, when switching to this food my dog had loose stool for about 5 days.

BUT this has been the case for my pup any time I’ve switched his food. and after speaking with the vet, I was advised that you should give your dog a full week of slowly switching the food before expecting the stool to return to normal.

After 5 days, he was totally fine! He gobbles this food up and he’s energetic and happy. Totally recommend this dog food!.

First of all, it’s not well packaged. I appreciate minimal overwrap but it is so thin, the product crushes easily. Probably a quarter of the bag was kibble dust. Secondly, no cat will eat it. Tried it first with the indoor cat as she eats either natural or prescription food.

Wouldn’t even take a bite. I also feed a couple of feral community cats who will eat anything, and whatever they might leave behind gets eaten by squirrels, possums, crows, or raccoons. This food goes untouched.

It’s still sitting there the next morning. It’s a nice (kind) idea and a decent price, but useless if no animal will touch it.

My cat is about 8. This is the first cat food she does not throw up. Of course I’ve had her to vet vet for this. They couldn’t find anything wrong with her. I’ve tried grain free and meds over the years and nothing stopped it till this food.

I’ve been using this food a few months now so is your cat seems to have digestive issues try this first before incurring expensive vet bills. The only thing that would be nice is I wish all pet foods would be required or voluntary include the sodium content.

My dog loves this food. He gets Grain free food. It is real chicken with peas and carrots, real broth and juices. We do use it with his dry GF food. A bit of the juices drizzled. veggies and chicken over his dry food.

One small container lasts for 3-4 feedings. He is a small dog.

I have used these Grain-Free chicken tubs for several years. I mix a batch of them for my dogs using diced green beans, pumpkin and cooked oatmeal, and then add a little dry food with each serving for crunch.

Nature’s Recipe discontinued the 10-oz cans, but thank goodness they did not discontinue the tubs or this particular “flavor. ” As someone else said, it is highly rated on DogFoodAdvisor, it’s lower in fat content, and the food looks like it would be fit for human consumption.

Target continues to surprise me with their prices for pet food. They often run less than all the other pet food stores.

Our pomchi eats some variation of this brand every single morning. She loves these wet foods with the gravy. It smells really good. Lol. It definitely doesn’t smell like dog food. You can see the shredded chicken and peas and carrots in the meals, so you know your dog is getting real ingredients.
