Cherry tomatoes are a great option for containers because they are small and can be grown in a variety of ways. For example, you can grow them in hanging baskets, on a windowsill, or even in a pot on your balcony.
Plus, cherry tomatoes are a great source of vitamins and antioxidants.

I love to make spaghetti sauce from scratch and I have never used San Marzano tomatoes before. These are actually certified and made a world of difference. This pasta sauce turned out absolutely mind-blowing.
The acidity level was low, the tomato sauce itself ended up being saucy yet creamy and I added a lot of vegetables come because I like my sauce to be filled with garlic, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and some red pepper flakes.
I will be using these San Marzano from now on. They were not expensive and I was able to find them easily at my local grocery store. Yum!.
These Cento San Marzano Tomatoes are the best for making your own ‘gravy’ as my south east Philly Italian hubs calls ‘sauce’. Crush the tomatoes, add some sauteed chopped onions and minced garlic, brown some ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning then top any pasta for the best flavored sauce–I mean gravy.
Why is it the best? San Marzano is an Italian village with volcanic ash in the soil the tomatoes grow in, cutting all acidic taste, leaving a ripe, fresh, sweet tomato ready for picking. These tomatoes are DOP certified as the real deal! It’s a taste you will fall in love with.
Lydia Bastianich (Lydia’s Kitchen on PBS) uses Cento brand, and said so on her program. They are nearly twice the Walmart price in grocery stores. The difference is unbelievable. Diced tomatoes from any other company are watery, as are whole tomatoes.
These Italian tomatoes are thicker and much more flavorful.

Of course I will always advocate for growing from seed, and if you’re looking to start a basic garden grab some of these at your local store!.
I absolutely love the taste of a garden fresh tomato. They are great alone, in a salad, and or in a stew. I like how affordable they are I can eat as much as I want minus the store cost. There is no comparison to home grown tomatoes.

Reviews From Real Customers
I have been making my own tomato sauce for many years, mainly using tinned plum tomatoes which I crushed with my hands before cooking. Recently I used Mutti cherry tomatoes and they made the best tomato sauce ever.
I whizzed them before cooking leaving a bit of texture. I used three tins, and finely chopped three shallots, 1 small carrot, 1 stick of celery, and three cloves of garlic. I fried the vegetables and when they were soft added the tomatoes.
When the sauce was warmed I added half a packet of chopped basil leaves, and left the sauce uncovered to simmer on the lowest possible heat for three hours No need for sugar. Exceptional. 10/10 from me and my family.
In Italy tomato soup sauce is a must that cannot fault in every kitchen. For many different rexipe: pizza, pasta, meat and many others dishes. This sauce is my favorite one because it’s not acid but lightly sweet and the flavor don’t cover other ingredients.
For pizza is something wonderful, ideal for Italian pizza and focaccia, and for the Ragù made with meat, used for pasta, or meat balls. You have to try it!!.
These are the best canned tomatoes I have ever had of ANY brand. They taste so fresh, like you just crushed the tomatoes yourself. Absolutely amazing. They are expensive, so I save them for fresher dishes like gazpacho, salsa, and soups and sauces that are not cooked for long (so you don’t cook out that yummy fresh taste!) I suppose if you can afford it though, you should use these for everything!.
Colavita Cherry Tomatoes are a very tasty and sweet small tomato. Colavita Imported Cherry tomatoes are great to start a Caprese Salad, Sauce or Gravy from start, or just chop them up and use them on a variety of traditional Italian dishes.
Colavita tomatoes are collected and canned at peak freshness, usually a very short amount of time, and ripeness to ensure great taste in whatever meal or dish you want to use them in.
I have always wanted to try my hand at my own homemade marinara, but have been wary I could do it justice. Figured I would grab some imported tomatoes and do it the right way, so grabbed Colavita’s crushed, cherry, & datterini tomatoes, and start with that.
I loved they came in a box. I wish more products would switch to these, as I find them easier to use as well as better for the environment. The flavor of these crushed tomatoes was incredible. They’re bright red and thick and taste like I smashed them myself.
I mixed everything today with a little fresh garlic and oregano, smashing up some of the whole tomatoes and ate it with fettuccine pasta. My husband couldn’t get enough and really couldn’t believe that I had made the sauce.
I took pictures just to prove it. LOL If you’re looking for authentic, premium Italian tomatoes. put these in your cart now!.
I received Colavita Crushed Tomatoes Premium Italian Imported. The premium Colavita Italian Crushed Tomatoes come in a modern and sustainable Tetrapak Tetra Recart carton packaging. Tomatoes come from quality farms in Italy that ensure the freshest Italian produce possible, and they are Non- GMO.
I used these in a pasta sauce that was very smooth and fresh tasting. The color was bright like I picked them straight from my garden. You can use the crushed tomatoes In a base for soups, pasta sauces, chili’s or as a pizza topping.
No salt added. Shelf-stable in original packaging; store in cool-dry space. I will definitely buy more of these. I highly recommend this product.
I cook for myself and love a weekly tomatoed themed dinner, Tomato, basil mozzarella with drizzled balsamic and oil, this straight from the can, followed by a white fish braised in a butter, basil, tomato chardonnay sauce.
The tomatoes are whole, peeled and uniform in size. Giving a lovely sweet tomato flavor with out the bitterness from the peels. I use an entire can per meal or preparation. The extra price offsets the tomatoes that go bad when I buy and try to store fresh tomatoes.
A slight pulse in the processor with oregano, garlic, salt and onion powder and you have PERFECT pizza sauce. I can go on but you get the picture.

Gorgeous, juicy, tasty little tomatoes. I made Red chilli jam and these tomatoes were part of the ingredients. But my partner and I both tried one of them when I opened the first tin, DELICIOUS. Excellent service from this company.
I have searched everywhere for citric acid free tomatoes, well done Holland & Barrett. These are perfect and great quality, very tasty. Competitively priced. Thank you so much, please get more stock asap.

Perfect for salads or just popping in your mouth when you’re in the garden! Sustainable Seed Company values food independence and sustainability through green agricultural and business practices.
Hey guys, I bought the marglobe seeds for next year. Here in North Dakota I don’t like waiting til the last minute to order seeds. We have to be very strategic starting seeds indoors to transplant outside.
Ask me next year to do the review I’ll be happy to do it. Thanks. Donna Hinton #trueleafmarket ambassador.
Have grown these for 14 years but gave away my last seeds thinking I had more. So glad to get more seed to start again. Planted 10 seeds 10 min. After receiving in the mail and have 8 plants almost waist high now! Squirrels scratched up 7 of them the day after planting and had to find in the dirt and try to replant all came up good except 2 that I could not find ( we’re only 3″ tall at that time) and they recovered! Verry happy with these.
I love Marglobes, they were the stuff of tomato sandwiches and they are delicious. Here on my eastern Colorado farm, we had 19″ of snow in May, very cold temps but the marglobes withstood all of that abuse beautifully.
They are sweet, not too thick skinned, and delicious fresh or canned. I pity anyone who doesn’t have dozens of jars of this tomato put up for the wintertime!.
Everwilde is my absolute favorite now for seeds of any kind. Packaging is BRILLIANT. I love all the info, photographs and the waterproof, sealable packaging. Add to that the quality heirloom seeds, and I won’t shop anywhere else unless I have to.
As for the Floridale tomato: germination rate has been high, all my starts sprouted quickly. We will have to see how they produce in the Piedmont area of South Carolina before I can review the crop! I have no reason to believe they won’t be perfect!.
I started seeds indoors on 3. 19. 21 and it is now 4. 2. 21 and out of a 12 pack with three seeds in each only two seeds have sprouted! They are grown in a sunny bay window with grow lights and heating pads.
I have started tumbler tomato seeds in the same area under the same conditions and they already have been moved to a larger pot! I was really hoping these would work out for me! Will try re-seeding a new batch in hopes for a better result but disappointed so far!.
The plants grew big in my fall setup and when it cooled down they did set tomatoes but that was in late September or early October. They should have set in late summer temps since they were developed in Florida for the temps and rain issues we have on the gulf coast.
The weather was messed up with cool temps till mid June and avg 92 till mid October and then cold end of October. We run around in shorts almost to last of December here but had a freeze in October. My fall tomato plants were over 3.
5 feet tall by end of August so it wasn’t late planting. I feel the seeds are the issue since I had issues with other seeds from this seed supplier. So you get what you paid for cause I had paid more for other seeds and those tomatoes did ok.
75 days. Approx. 10,000 seeds/oz. This heirloom cherry tomato has excellent flavor and produces handfuls of 1 inch, sweet, firm fruit. The indeterminate vine will continue to grow over an extended season so you should create a supporting structure for vining growth.
Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Before transplanting after the last frost, harden off the plants by placing them outdoors for a few hours at a time and progress to a full day. Tomatoes are a tender plant and particular about temperature.
The optimal range is 55 F to 90 F, outside of that the fruit doesn’t set well and the plants won’t be as healthy. Seed Depth: 1/4 in Spacing (Plant/Row): 2 ft / 4 ft Days to Germ / Maturity: 7 / 75 Hardiness / Light: Tender / Full Sun Spread / Height: 18 in / 4-6 ft.
Year i have grown cherry tomatoes only to get really small ones and not that great of flavor. I tried these a couple years ago and i could not believe the size they were getting to. Most were over 1 inch in diameter and some larger.
Towards the end of season they get smaller but do not lose their flavor. If you keep them well fertilized though they will keep their size as well. By far the best cherry i have ever grown and eaten.
Sun-ripened, cherry tomatoes are great for snacking—and the Chocolate Cherry Tomato is one of our favorite cherry tomato types. An open-pollinated, heirloom tomato variety, Chocolate Cherry Tomato produces dense clusters of 1-inch fruits that ripen to rich shades of red and chocolate.
The fruits have a complex, gourmet flavor that’s perfect for salads, slicing and canning. The indeterminate plants are known to produce for months right up until frost. The tomato plants require staking.
Wonderful rich and tangy heirloom flavor. The plants are vigorous and definitely need to be staked! They will continually grow so make sure you have them staked securely. The fruit will split if a good rain comes along so you could pick fruits a little early to avoid them splitting.
A great addition to your garden and your spring/summer salad!.
I planted these this year for the first time. They tasted great by themselves or in a cucumber/tomato salad. My only complaint-if you can call it that is that these plants grew HUGE and produced far more cherry tomato’s than we could possibly eat or give away.
Next year I’ll be planting cherry tomato’s that are a bit more manageable.
I grew these last year and I am looking forward to growing them again for 2022. They are on the larger side for a cherry, but very prolific. They had a nice sweet flavor and beautiful color. We had an awful growing season here in NJ and these did very well.
Also known as Red Cherry, this old favorite heirloom dates back to around 1840. Thomas Jefferson, an experimental farmer as well as a statesman, grew several varieties of tomato in his garden in Monticello; he was one of the first Americans to do so.
Italian and French immigrants also helped popularize the tomato, and by the early 19th century it became fairly well known in the States.
I grew Everwilde’s Big Rainbow tomato in my garden during the 2020 season. It has earned a permanent place in my garden. The tomatoes are huge and extremely flavorful. The texture is perfect. As an indeterminate tomato, you’ll either need to get a heavy duty cage or prune these heavily, but they’re absolutely worth it for the delightful fruit.

75 days. This easy to grow cherry tomato produces delicious, black/red cherry sized tomatoes on a large vine. Sweet fruits are often described as having a complex, smoky flavor. Another children’s favorite, this cherry makes a great addition to and relish tray or rainbow mix of small fruited tomatoes.
Hi! I’d like to let you know how our harvest went… We planted the seeds in the soil pellets and put about three seeds in each netted seed starter pellets hoping to get at least one plant… 10 pellets per plant type.
We got 100 seedlings! They were conditioned to stay out overnight and then when we put them in the planters, we took the netting off the soil and put the soil directly in the rich soil filled planters.
We ended up with: 2 out of 10 onion plants with no onion growth 7 out of 10 squash with only 12 edible squash-lots of flowers and no more veggie growth 4 out of 10 cucumber plants -2 edible tiny cucumbers -8 more are smaller than my pinky and not growing-lots of flowers and no veggie 3 out of 10 Carrots -have not harvested yet 0 out of 10 rudabegah plants 0 out of 10 Parsnips plants 3 out of 10 tomato-no flowers no fruit 4 out of 10 beets -no underground grow 0 out of 10 pepper plants 0 out of 10 spinach plants I know this is NOT normal as I have grown vegetables before with bountiful harvests in bad soil.
I do know this is VERY DISAPPOINTING. after growing for 3 months – 50% turned out to be ragweed.
Only gave a 4 star review as I haven’t grown them just yet. The service is incredible. I’ve had a few hiccups where they have something listed that I have purchased and haven’t received it do you them overstocking the item.
Other than that, I have been happy with every other aspect of their service. Excited to try planting these. Will update once I have results on plants.
I’m really disappointed because 2 of the varieties I was really looking forward to weren’t included in my pack. I was planning to buy the pineapple tomatoe seeds, but took it out of my cart because it was in this pack.
It never occurred to me that they would substitute a seed type when they have it in stock. That one was what I was most excited about. I was also looking forward to the green zebra, but it’s not there.
One more thing, why is a cherry tomatoe in the slicer pack? Overall, I’ll still plant the tomatoes (minus the cherry, not a fan) and I’m sure I’ll love them, but I’ll be very wary of buying collection packs in the future.
Fox Cherry Tomato Seeds. 80 – 90 days to maturity. Lycopersicon esculentum. Open Pollinated. Annual. Indeterminate. With large potato leaves to shield them from the sun, Fox Cherry Tomatoes are an excellent addition to any garden.
These juicy red fruits are the perfect size for a salad or pasta topping! Rich, prolific, and flavorful, Fox Cherry is a delight to have in any garden.
First time buyer from this company and so far not impressed. I’m an experienced greenhouse grower, and planted the Fox seeds along with 20 other varieties from a different seed company. Ten days later all varieties are germinated and growing, not a single Fox seed has germinated.
I have grown Fox tomatoes for 15 years, with seeds from another source and it is always one of the first to germinate. A seed that germinates so far behind will not become a thriving plant. I will replant with seeds sourced from another grower.
Mtn Prides are hardy (blight resistant) and delicious. I’ve had issues with blight since moving to my current neighborhood but these plants have held up well (with regular spraying) and delivered an abundance of excellent tomatoes.
We had enough to share with several neighbors/friends, and canned several quarts for the winter, plus we have eaten on them everyday. Many ripened all within a few days, but we also have more coming along and ripening steadily.
Cal Ace tomato seeds and plants used to be readily available in the 1980’s, but they disappeared when hybrids became popular. Luckily the heirloom varieties are back in style and these beauties are among them.
I have had great success growing these tomatoes in Utah. The plants are productive, the tomatoes taste great, and are good for canning. My favorite tomato to grow.
Colavita Datterini, otherwise called Baby Roma which are oblong and a very tasty cherry tomato, are one of the few truly authentic datterini tomatoes available. Colavita Imported tomatoes are great to start a gourmet Italian Sauce or Gravy from start or just chop them up and use them on a variety of traditional Italian dishes.
Colavita tomatoes are collected and canned at peak freshness, usually a very short amount of time, and ripeness to ensure great taste in whatever meal or dish you want to use them in.
With their bright color and delicious, fresh flavor, NatureSweet Glorys tomatoes were born to cook. Whether its a spicy casserole, a zesty chicken kebab or a mild sauce, these tomatoes are the ingredient that will take any dish to an entirely new level of culinary excellence.
Put some glorys on top of your next pizza, toss them into your pasta, or put them on the grill just get cooking!.
Love to snack on these with salt. They are very juicy and so good. I enjoy these more than regular tomatoes actually. I also like these with ranch or in my salads. They’re perfect bite size. I have a habit of biting into them then sucking the inside, sprinkle some salt then I’ll eat the remaining,.
These are my favorite store bought tomatoes. They are a little on the pricier side, but I have never thrown away any bad tomatoes from this brand. Sometimes I trick myself into thinking that the cheaper brand will be okay for a week, but I end up having to toss at least a third of the container.
These are the best tasting and freshest tomatoes that you can buy at the store! A little pricier than other brands but so worth it for the amazing fresh out of the garden taste! I love to snack on these with the Reduced Fat Wheat Thins and some cottage cheese! Healthy and delicious!.
I will definitely buy these again. They taste great. An American salad Lettuce, cucumbers, bacon bits , Mexican cheese, croutons, and Caesar Salad dressing. Not sure where I bought it. Of course I would buy it again.
Cocktail tomatoes On The Vine (2 lbs. ) are kept on the vine until ripe, which makes for a juicy, red tomato that is bursting with flavor. They are great for eating by themselves as a snack, as part of a salad or in your favorite recipe.
Cocktail tomatoes add a nice pop of color to your meal. You can find them in the produce section—just look for these two-pound clusters near the other vine tomato varieties. How Are These Cocktail Tomatoes on the Vine grown? You will find these cocktail tomatoes in our Sam’s stores in bunches and still on the vine.
They are available year-round because they are grown in a greenhouse. These cocktail tomatoes are non-GMO certified. What Is the Nutritional Value of a Cocktail Tomatoes on the Vine? Tomatoes have very little fat content, and they are also low in carbs.
Yet, they provide many vitamins that you need as part of a healthy diet. These vitamins include vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin K, potassium and lycopene. In fact, cocktail tomatoes are an excellent source of lycopene, which helps lower bad cholesterol levels.
Tomatoes are also heart-healthy food because they help reduce the amount of plaque that is in the arteries and help reduce blood pressure. How Can I Use These Cocktail Tomatoes? These tomatoes are slightly larger than cherry or grape tomatoes, which make them a very versatile option when cooking.
They work well in salsas, salads and as a topping for pizzas. You can also eat them alone as a snack. Plus, they can be used in any recipe that calls for tomatoes. The tomato cocktail flavor is slightly sweeter than some other tomato varieties.
Like most of my reviews, I wish Sams would sell a variety pack of tomatoes. It would be nice to have these with some grape and sandwich tomatoes. I tend to plan my meals around what kind of tomatoes I purchased.
If I buy tomatoes at Sam’s and buy all the kinds I would like my chickens eat lots of tomatoes. The really good thing is that my chickens grow lots of tomatoe plants. So I move the pens, because tomatoe plants are actually poison.
The dig up the plants, so I don’t have tomatoe plants growing wild in the field, and replant them in pots. Unfortunately, most if the tomatoes Sam’s sell are hybrids except the grapes, but so far they have all been pretty good.
The Campari tomatoes are delicious. They are the reason I joined Sam’s club. They stopped carrying them at the other big wholesale place! I have fallen in love with Sam’s club because of these tomatoes! I enjoy the shopping and especially the pickup system.
These are the very best tomatoes that I can buy. They are good sandwich tomatoes, they are excellent with cottage cheese, or they are very tasty just sliced and salted. The flavor is excellent, almost as good as if they had come straight out of my garden (if I had a garden).
Veritable Lingots – Grow a variety of herbs and vegetables with these lingots for Veritable Indoor Gardens. Lingots include the grow medium, seeds, and nutrients. They require no additional care or feeding.
Simply insert them in the container after adding water to the reservoir. Each lingot will produce 4-6 months of weekly harvests. Include grow medium, seeds, and nutrientsProduce weekly harvests for 4-6 months.
This is an easy plug and play kind of herb garden. It’s so simple to start your own garden. No real work is involved just pay attention to the alerts from the blinking lights letting you know more water should be added.
Seriously that’s all you need to do. I plugged it in at 6am and it turns off automatically around 10:30pm. It’s small enough to fit on your counter and large enough to produce a realistic amount of natural fresh herbs.
I do wish that the tabs that you place with the type of herb you are growing were plastic and not the end of the cardboard box. It would just look better on your garden. I made labels to perfect the look I wanted.
I recently went to the 99 cent store for a quick grocery run when I came across the Kaliroy brand grape tomatoes 🍅 the quality was great and comes with a good amount that can last for a few weeks ! For the price of $3 I recommend.
These are the best tomatoes for snacking, cooking – whatever you want to do. I’ll grab a handful if I’m on the run, but I can also throw them in a pan with some chicken and they make the dish have a little extra pop of flavor and color! Plus – they’re healthy!!!.
You haven’t tasted real tomatoes until you’ve had tomatoes on the vine. Tomatoes stay on the vine so that they can continue ripening until they reach their peak maturity. One bite and you’ll see that tomatoes on the vine are known for their quality flavor and texture.
To enjoy these tomatoes at their best, do not refrigerate them but instead keep them on the counter out of direct sunlight. What Can I Do With Tomatoes? Make the best BLT sandwich with these tomatoes as the star.
You can also try your hand at pico de gallo, tomato bisque, Caprese salad, gazpacho, salads and homemade tomato sauce.
i have been buying these boxed tomatoes for years. in the beginning they were sourced from a texas grower and actually grown in texas. i live in south texas just saying. the tomatoes were very very good most of the time.
then the same texas grower started marking them as coming from mexico. not the same quality but better than other local stores. last week the same texas grower marked them as coming from canada. that is an awful long way for tomato to travel and they taste as if they were picked when totally green and never really ripen before going bad.
these tomatoes have gone from being a 9. 7 down to a 0 on a 1-10 scale. i will not be buying any more sams tomatoes until they are able to get grown in texas tomatoes. i feel like a lot of my money has been wasted on poor and mediocre quality tomatoes.
Good tomatoes are hard to find in Florida. especially compared to the ones I’ve had in Michigan off the farm! Apprehensive at first, I purchased 4 pounds of tomatoes, knowing I live alone and might not use them all.
I used them all! After a week, left at room temperature, they were still sweet, firm and tasty! No soft or spoiled spots! Do not refrigerate! As long as this quality exists, I will be having these tomatoes on my menu!.
These tomatoes on the vine are delicious. We’ve bought them 4 times because they’re so good. They stay fresh for over a week in the refrigerator while still attached to their vines. I had stopped buying tomatoes because they had become very bland and would spoil so fast.
I just happened to buy some for a halloween carnival event we were having for our grandchildren instead of letting them go out to do trick-or-treating during this pandemic. We made hamburgers at home and playing carnival games in the back yard.
The hamburgers were delicious and were enjoyed by all of us thanks to these delicious tomatoes. Will keep purchasing these as long as they are available.
Cherry tomatoes are a great option for growing in containers. They are relatively easy to care for and can produce a large number of fruits. When choosing a container, make sure it is at least 12 inches deep and has drainage holes.
Fill the container with a quality potting mix and water regularly. Fertilize every two weeks with a tomato fertilizer. Place the container in an area that receives full sun and harvest the fruits when they are ripe.
