20 Best Cheap Tires For Drifting (2023 Updated)

I love the DHR2 as a rear mtb tire. I tried the Dissector, but it didn’t have quite the breaking traction I was looking for. I am about 3 yrs into this mtb journey after years of bmx racing. I want the lightest toughest tire I can get my hands on, like everyone.

Maxxis EXO came OEM with EXO. Took a while to cut the rear tire, but did on a very sharp rock. The rock was like a knife, stuff happens. However EXO+ is not the way to go. I have been through 3 EXO+ rear tires in less than 2 yrs.

I ran the Dissector DD for 6+ months no problems. I go back to the DHR2 for the grip. I have a Cushcore installed to keep from getting pinch flats like I did on the last EXO + DHR. 1 min into a 8 min stage, I hear the rim hit, not hard and then feel and hear the air screaming out of it.

Ultimately kept me off the podium. Now I read articles from 4 months ago, Maxxis knows the EXO+ casing is not holding up it’s end of the bargain, so they are making it now like they should have in the first place.

Maxxis, can I get my $105 back or a new tire that doesn’t puncher if the wind blows to hard? I had less than a month on a DHR2 and a hole smaller than pin head cost me the money and a race. I like Maxxis and have only purchased Maxxis for my mtb.

I have now had to purchase another $100+ tire a DD. However, a brand new tire should not become useless after 10-15 rides, unless you are riding something the tire wasn’t designed for. Traction and rubber compund are a 4 star +.

Please make sure you rate your tire sidewalls appropriately. I could have saved $25-$30 and gotten the same performance out of a EXO. If Maxxis would like to contact me, and offer a new tire that would be awesome.

The tire looks brand new except for a very very small hole. The tire literally got a hole, the first rim ding after putting on Cushcore.

The sweet: My new YT Jeffsy came with Minion DHR II’s front and back. The DHR II, even on the rear wheel, provided significantly better tread wear compared to the similarly priced XC tire that I had become accustomed to previously.

Pros: Gobs of grip, long tread wear, not too expensive Bitter: The front tire started seeping sealant from the a single spot on the sidewall shortly after I converted to tubeless. I submitted a warranty claim to MAXXIS and they sent me a replacement tire.

I am waiting to either install the replacement tire on the front or convert the rear to tubeless to see if this is a commonly occurring issue. However, in the warranty process I realized that MAXXIS relies on a date code which is stamped on the inside of the casing.

Therefore, it is possible for a uninstalled tire to go out of warranty while sitting of your shelf at home. Cons: Might seep sealant thru the sidewall, don’t purchase too far in advance.

This tire came stock F & R on my 2022 Santa Cruz 5010. I switched to something faster rolling. Maxxis description and recommended installation of this tire is spot on. Grip, cornering, and braking is outstanding.

Rolling speed not so much. I had MaxxGrip front and it made me giggle in the corners because it was just glued to the ground and was confidence inspiring. Too much tire for my needs in the Midwest, especially front and rear.

If you’re pedaling a lot, I would run this rear only and get something faster rolling in the front. This is a burly rear tire. Depending on your conditions you may be better off with the faster rolling Aggressor, SS, or Dissector.

Nearly everything about the X-Maax is twice as expensive as the average 1/10 scale monster truck; these wheels and tires were no exception, but I am blown away by the build quality. I’ve gone through two sets of 8s rated Traxxas mounted tires in the past couple months (tires ripped in half, foam disintegrates) on dirt and silt surfaces.

At first glance, the badlands appear to have been cut off a motocross bike. the tread and bead are that thick. The wheels are hefty and durable as well. Lose wheel nuts have done little to no damage.

As an added bonus in the dirt, these tires free up the reared of the truck, allowing it to turn sharper. With the extra heft comes the extra weight, keep an eye on the stock motor temperature, 1/5th scale conversions.

Got these for XMAXX. Really very happy. The ballooning stock tires are gone now. These are heavier, and add more stability to the truck, thus giving more control. Highly recommended.

These are some wicked tires, no ballooning. My Xmaxx is a little slower because the tires do not balloon, but do they grip. just do not stand within 30 feet behind the truck when taking off. Unless you want to get showered with dirt and gravel.

Over all, I recommend these Xmaxx Badlands even at the higher price.

Made specifically for the 2020+ Super Duke R, these are very confidence inspiring and are in another dimension compared to the Battlax’s that came stock on my 2003 GSX-R1000. So much grip, even when ringing out my SDR.

The only downsides are the speed wobbles (due to the high aspect ratio and the SDR’s chassis / steep rake) and the tread life. I am replacing my rear tire (front is still good) at only 1,200 miles, as I am at the wear bars.

And the first 620 miles were RPM / power mode restricted. Some of the speed wobbles can be mitigated by reducing tire pressures to around 32 psi. But there’s one place that these tires are rock-solid, and that’s while leaned over.

My SDR is more solid at 140 mph while cranked over than my ZX-14R was at 100 mph. Of course, superior suspension helps too. They also warm up very quickly. This bike INHALES rear tires like no other bike I’ve owned.

So if you want something for sport touring, look elsewhere. These are for intense, fast paced sport riding. At least the wear was completely even over the entire carcass. Luckily, Moto-Mummy price matched and got it here in 2 days.

I am completely amazed at the way these tires have transformed my VFR800 Interceptor ride and handling! The grip is very confidence inspiring and the bike will hold any line you wish to take. The ride is smooth and predictable-the tires give enough feedback without feeling harsh or over inflated.

I’m a lighter rider (140 lbs), so I’m running about 5psi less in each tire (than max cold psi) and it seems to be perfect for me. I looked at more expensive tires, cheaper tires and read a bunch of online reviews.

First I will start with the not amazed part. The tires are stated as 37″ (36. 6) I believe to be exact. I replaced my Federal Couragia Mud 37’s (36. 8) with these new falken ones. My federals were worn about 70%, but still had life, the wife just wanted we to swap them out.

Well at full tread the federals ran with my tune setup, and tire aize adjusted said 36. 5 I believe. Mind you that’s new. Speed forward to 70% worn, and ive now adjusted the tire size in the tune to 35.

5 to adjust speed correctly. Now swapping out the for the Falken Wildpeaks, and you would think a tire size for the tune would be 36. 5, or maybe even 36. 25, but it’s not. 4 adjustments later I am at 35″ even.

That’s a half inch under the used 37’s I just had on. It made no sense, and my mind was boggled. Mind you the tires are all aired the same, and no differences besides brand of tire and a (. 20) difference in tire size.

Was a bit disappointing, and not happy, but we will see if I buy these again or not. On to the great stuff though. The tires run soooo smooth its amazing. I pulled out of the parking lot, and that was the first thing I noticed right off.

Outstanding on road feel. Also another great thing to note is that these come with a 55,000 tread warranty. You really can’t beat that almost anywhere. Very impressed with that also. The install was a bit of a hastle.

I had ordered these on Walmart website, which by the way is better than doing it in store. I did this for a better price, and to set up an install date. Well the install date was coming up, and only 3 of the 4 tires were delivered.

I called Walmart help line, and was told by the gentleman on the phone that the last tire was only 40 minutes away, and that is will be there tomorrow for the install date. Well install date came, and no 4th tire.

You can’t install only 3 new tires, so I had to call the Walmart Auto Center and have them cancel my install appointment. Was not thrilled, and has to wait two extra days tell the 4th tire was finally delivered.

Was able to go in after work to get this finalized, but definitely was a big hassle. Depending on if I purchase tires through Walmart again, I might just pick them up to be installed elsewhere, but we will see.

As an all around tire, it shouldn’t be expected to do everything perfectly. But some say it’s the best in its class, and I’m pleased with it. I feel confident off road. Occasional highway use is fine too— there is less noise than I expected.

But if I used my Jeep as a daily driver instead of a weekend joy toy, I would have left the Michelin LTX Defenders on. They are smoother, quieter, and the better road tire. I should note that I got these Falkens as part of a 5 wheel package on this site, and they came mounted and balanced from the MO warehouse.

I won’t do that again. They were so badly balanced that my wife though there was something seriously wrong with the car. Several had to be remounted and all had to be rebalanced locally to be useable.

I use to use B. F. Goodrich drag radials and I never had an issue with them. But then B. F. Goodrich stopped making the drag radials. I bought a pair of Mickey Thompson’s under great reviews from everyone I talked to.

I work in a shop so I got to mount the tires myself. the problem arose when i tried to balance the tires. they wanted a lot of weight, so i put the weight on and spun them again. they wanted more weight, so i put the weight on and spun them again.

AND, they still wanted more weight. I broke the bead, moved the tires on the rim and tried it again with the same results. I removed all the weights off the rims and watched the tires as they spun. both tires would noticeably bounce while spinning on the machine.

they were definitely out of round. i even took the tires off and just spun the rims and they were perfect. I never had this problem with the B. F. Goodrich drag radials. I should have contacted Summit right away about this but i didn’t.

3 years later, i tried balancing the tires again with the same results. even after burning some rubber off of them, they didn’t straighten out. I will definitely be trying other drag radials before buying another set of these.

Oh, and i also have a pair of 28×10. 5×15 MT slicks, and no problems with them.

Can’t beat Mickey Thompson Street strip radials. The 79’ TransAm they are going on will be just right for what the car is being built to do. 04’ LQ9 LS truck block, Magnuson 2. 3L whipple supercharger.

I bought a set of these in 305/35r20 for the rear of my 2016 srt392 charger in an attempt to improve my off the line traction at the track. All i can say is the difference is night and day compared to both the stock all seasons aswell as a set of bridgestone summer tires i had previously had on the car.

I went from running 13. 2s in the quarter to a personal best of 11. 98 in that particular car. Other than the drag radials the car is 100% factory stock and these fot the factory wheels perfectly with zero clearance issues of rubbing.

My season is pretty much over but come spring i will be ordering another set for my hellcat charger.

This is my third set of rear itp mud lite sp tires for my Yamaha banshee and my second set I’ve bought here at rocky mountain. Great place to purchase these tires, super fast processing and shipping from these guy’s and the best price I found anywhere! I love this tire for high performance trail riding and riding loose vertical climbs or any terrain I’ve rode on.

Any other tire I’ve used just don’t hookup up dew to-to much power resulting in wheel spin but these hook up enough to suck you off the back of the seat! I needed to replace the two front tires on my Yamaha Rhino after many years of brutal abuse in south Texas. I wanted the best all around tread design for the deep mud and crater-like rocks on my hunting property.

If it isn’t cactus or mesquite thorns that I’m running over, its the sharp rocks. Everything out there has huge thorns and these tires hold up like an Olympic Athlete. I add a measured amount of tire sealer and then travel where I need to.

The tread design gets me across anything with a smooth ride but digs deep in the mud when mother nature dumps so many inches of rain. This is the tire for those that don’t want to worry about flats. BTW, they get lots of looks and comments from others.

So previously I had some old battleaxes which were great tires but they needed replaced badly as they came on my bike, the previous owner must’ve never leaned it over once because you could get off the bike and it would stay standing.

Yeah the flat spot was bad. I would regularly skid my rear tire on accident as they had no grip left. They were well past their lifespan. Once I replaced it, my bike became very playful and so grippy, suddenly the bike wasn’t limited by the tires but rather the bikes own capabilities.

Long story short, while testing my new tire I experienced some extreme brake fade/failure. I was coming into a roundabout too hot and with suddenly not enough braking force so I just rode it out and was expecting the rear to slide out like it always has.

I braced for this but it thanks to the Pirelli Diablo, it gripped and yeeted my ass off the bike!! Thankfully no one got hurt and the bike only has a bent rim from hitting a fire hydrant. Might be time for new brakes.

The last tires on my 2002 Honda 919 were Shinko 009’s, which were fine for most of the riding I was doing. However, I decided to step my game up a bit and try to get a little more speed through the corners.

Overall first impressions of these tires are absolutely great. They didn’t require too much break-in time, which was surprising. After 75 miles, I was already leaning at angles I was achieving with my 009’s.

I have put approximately 150 miles on them so far and I have about 1/2″ from the edge of the tire to the furthest point of my lean, so they still have plenty to offer. Tread life is definitely not going to be as great as the 009’s, but considering I do not ride every single day, I’m fine with that.

Many reviews I’ve seen from people who thrash their tires regularly sounded like they got around 3,000 miles out of the rear before it was toast. My bike is not as high powered as many modern bikes, nor do I ride at the limit or track my bike, so they should last me quite a bit longer.

Absolutely excellent performance both on road and on track. I put about 300 miles on these tires street riding and parking lot trainings for about another 40-50 miles. Over the last 2 days I went to Pitt race for a few track days and I absolutely beat the heck out of these tires.

They felt absolutely amazing on my 21 street triple RS. There wasn’t a single corner I didn’t have confidence in. They heat up incredibly quickly and provide absurd levels of grip right out of pit lane.

I hope their longevity is good but these are going to be used in many more upcoming track days so I can’t speak for longevity. Their wet performance is also excellent and very confidence inspiring. I had no problems with these tires running low lean angles in rain even without tire warmers.

Was super happy about how fast the tires got to me, they were very easy to mount, but the problems came with balancing. 2 of the tires were completely fine but one of the took 9 ounces and still isnt perfect and the other took 14 ounces.

Crazy! Road feel is really good when driving except for 42-45 mph and anything over 60 mph!! Feels like my truck is going to fall apart. It rode like a dream before these tires, and I had inner/outer tie rods, idler arm and pitman arm and alignment done along with the balance.

not super pleased. Im writing this review as I wait on hold with the company to see about getting a replacement pair that are easygoing balance. Will update accordingly!.

Review for Achilles Desert Hawk X-MT 235/75R15. Tires are pulling up pretty good, We added them to our 1982 Chevrolet truck (workhorse). Truck drives through caliche roads, canal where mesquite brushes are a nuisance, and farm plots just about everyday and some to town.

Trust me this truck carries alot of weight and pulls flat bed trailers often, my point is shes carries weight and usually means thread wear. Tires have hit a couple deep pots and still holding their balanced.

Tire thread wear is really good, the thread height is very good probably the main reason i haven’t gotten any flats yet with them mesquite thorns. Don’t forget the plys are good for weight on them too.

So far no complaints, highly recommend. Will probably buy them again if they still selling them after i wear them out. Amazing tire. Pics later if allowed.

I hate paying full price for anything, saw these on sale for $173. Research reviews. People with 15-20k miles still had 75%. I don’t plan to take it easy on them, but nice to know. They were shipped to my home in 5 days! Wow.

Took them over to walmart at 8am with winter wheels. Luckily running 6 offset on my 05 F150 with M/T, definitely self cleaning! Handle better then toyo’s or Nitto’s all around with less noise! Crazy.

Wet roads, slush, gravel, mud, water flooded road. First 100 miles were fun! Can’t wait for more snow!.

I puchased 2 of these tires because they are the same ones I’ve been runningnon my Expedition since we bought it in 2015. The last set had a sidewall leak so that tire and the pair tire had to be replaced.

Now my back tires only had 20K on them so were left alone. Fast forward to older tires needing to be replaced. I bought 2 becaouse I only needed 2. WalMart refused to put them on citing some BS “manufacturer” rule about tread on 4-wheel or all wheel drive vehilces.

“Tread has to be within 2/32 or they can’t be mounted. ” This is some major BS trying to get me to buy 4 tires (2 I didn’t need yet) rather than 2. Took my vehicle to my local Ford dealer, explained what I was told by WalMart that “There is no such thing” aqnd happily mounted my tires for me.

Will never give WalMart ANY tire business again. Service alone is the reason for 1 star. So much for the “free” tire mounting.

put a set of these on my ram 1500 after the factory good year wrangler tires that came on my truck when i bought it new started to have issues with the sidewall starting to split after only 24000 miles.

i now have almost 49000 on the truck with these tires. they ride smooth with no road noise. thinking about putting a set of these on the wifes jeep as the firestone tires on her jeep have developed a wobble like feeling at low speeds.

I guess they have broken belts in 3 out of 4 tires according to the jeep dealership after only 26000 miles. they say it is because we drive on gravel. i just think new vehicles come with the cheapest tires they can possibly put on them.

i am very pleased with the Pirelli Scorpion tire. just wish they still had the raised white letter sidewall like what is on my truck.

This tire has an aggressive tread and sidewall patterns. From other reviews it does great in the snow and rain, but I haven’t gotten to test that out yet. These are a little wider than other 275mm tires, but that’s OK with me.

I replaced 305/55r20 (33×12. 5) Nitto Terra Grappler G2’s with these 275/60r20 (33×11) Pirelli’s, which are an inch narrower and a couple pounds lighter. I was hoping for some improved MPG to go along with better wet and snow traction, but they actually get about 0.

5mpg less than the larger tire. Must be increased rolling resistance due to the tread pattern. They ride smooth and are surprisingly quiet.

The SKYRC IMAX is the real version not a knockoff and the difference is night & day. This LIPO charger has better electronics and has a built in cooling fan to protect them. Also, the instructions are very detailed about everything you can imagine.

It also balances cells better and best of all it does not overcharge LIPOs like most chargers do, which will damage them beyond repair. Super charger for the price.

This kit came with everything needed to fit my Traxxas Rustler, and installation was simple and straight forward. The bearings that came in the kit are rubber sealed and smooth, they seem well made so far.

All the steel parts in this kit are thick and seem as though they will have very good longevity. I noticed two things when installing this kit that could be slightly concerning. The first is a slight fitment issue with the hub’s.

The lower pin is rather tight and could cause some binding in the suspension travel. The second is with the retainer ring that helps hold the upper pin in. It has a small split in it that the pin can slip out of should the grub screw come loose.

Ive been using the b6 mini for a couple of years to power all kinds of projects. Its very versatile and even has enough power to bring a dead car battery to life. Discharging takes a long time but charging is fairly quick unless its a monster of a battery- its wattage rating and the rating of your power supply will determine how much of those 50-60 advertised watts will be flowing.

I like it enough to have bought a second one for simultaneous use.
