20 Best Body Shapewear For Tummy And Back Fat (2023 Updated)

I have soo many of these shapers and none of them works. BUT this one surprised me, its the cheapest of all my others and works the best, mines is similar to this one but does not have a bottom. I bought it from the Maiden Form outlet mall in St.

Augustine, it does not roll/crawl up , stays in place and its smooth out my tummy and very comfortable to wear all day. I have 11 hour days and I keep it on the entire day.

I wear the Maidenform torsette that comes down to the hip almost everyday for a smooth silhouette. I find it to be comfortable, supports my back and improves my posture. It washes well in a mesh bag on Delicate and dries on a hanger.

It is most comfortable for me to wear the underwire bra I prefer on the outside of the torsette. I am about 5’ 1’, 130 pounds and wear size XL.

I have systemic lymphedema, so I need compression garments to improve lymphatic circulation, particularly around the midriff and in the pectoral area. I am not overweight, though, so I have trouble finding garments that are small enough to provide any compression, as most of these garments are geared toward large sized women.

I find this particular item to be a decent fit and it provides light compression in all the right places.

I’ve been ordering the same model 437 for a couple years. Within the last year it’s been a very bad experience. The style has changed and the back does not have the same coverage so it makes your back fat just pop out.

It is not the same as what they have on the pictures on the website. I have received the wrong style even after confirming with agent that is is the correct one. This has happened probably about 5x I have paid for overnight shipping and still incorrect one was sent after many tries and talking to agent Janet I received the right style.

Reasons I was told one that the one I wanted was actually a new style and that the one they sent me was an old style which later was told the opposite. After receiving the last one and being told that I was going to receive the correct one and actually not receiving the correct one I called in and spoke with Janet again she then confirmed that the style I like is no longer in stock and is discontinued.

The pictures are misleading since what they show is not actually the exact style they send. I have gave them many chances before writing a negative review even though I have received a bad experience many times.

I have referred at least four friends and two of my sisters I will no longer refer anyone and express my concerns to my referrals.

The shaper is great quality fits good I purchased size medium. Cons: straps are too tight even after using the third row of hooks. The opening it has makes your V look weird, so don’t use with tight leggings Don’t recommend to use outdoors as you will have to undress to be able to use the restroom.

Now I wished I could have purchased the one with hooks on the bottom to make easier to use the restroom. Great quality makes you look slim but I would pick another one. Was disappointed with my purchase.

Let me start by saying that I really and truly do love my faja. As far as compression goes, I’ve never loved one more. The sizing was spot on. I would’ve given it five stars if it wasn’t for some minor flaws.

First, if you tighten the shoulder straps too much, you can expect to have them come undone at some point. I’ve worn my faja for about 10 days now, and a strap has popped off maybe 4 times. Also, I really do not get the function of the side closure.

I have somewhat of a hard time getting the hooks fastened because of my breast hets in the way. Nonetheless, it’s manageable. Also, on me, the lace at th bottom does not fall below the knee. It ends right at knee, which causes the lace to bunch up.

The lace is noticeable through tights or certain thin or clingy clothing regardless of where it falls or regardless if it’s curled or not. However, even with these minor flaws, I highly recommend this faja! I’m actually thinking of ordering the beige since I already purchased the black.

Purchased 2/2022 size 36D. Fit and support is good. Found the sound that the underwires made very annoying. Since I had worn the shaper, I removed the underwires. I have a very small frame & weigh 135.

I have worn underwires for years, & Maidenform is my go to brand. Have never had this happen before. Squeaking underwires Would I recommend the Maidenform Brand? Yes – just not this item.

I am a plus size woman. So finding a shapewear that will enhance my body shape and hide the cellulites in my tummy is impossible. I am glad I found this body shaper. I got in 38C and I was skeptical that it will fit me.

But to my surprise, it fits me perfectly. I had a little struggle putting in on for the first time but once it’s stretched out, it is very easy to wear it. I like that it controls my tummy area and also hides whatever I wanted to hide like by side and back fat.

It’s anti-static and cling free so it glides easily on any clothes that I am wearing over it. It is perfect for dresses and tube tops as the straps are adjustible and removeable. It also gives me enough room to breath and move around.

I don’t feel like my movements are limited. I also don’t have to worry about sweat because its breathable and it has an opening to the back so air will circulate. It is also very stylish! I love it!.

I have trouble finding shapewear that actually fits, so I tend to avoid it altogether. I wasn’t expecting much, but hoped this shapewear would change my mind. I put it on and initially it smoothed my stomach out, but wasn’t working properly on my back.

It kind up pushed it all upwards like a muffin top on my back. It was extremely unappealing! I had my husband help me push the back of the bra up more and it worked out really well! So, I have four stars because it’s a little hard to get the back up far enough to not push all your back fat up and out like a muffin top.

After I got it where it fit better I really love the fit! You can take off the straps for strapless shirts and you can’t see that I’m wearing the Firm Foundations Bodyshaper at all! It has really changed my opinion of shapewear.

I think I never had one that properly fit like this one did!.

it fits. I could have went with a size smaller. Material not so good I’m getting married in October I wore the shaper to 2x once to try on dresses at bridal shop. Yesterday I received my dress went to put my shaper on and the strap for my right arm broke.

Wasted so much money on this smh. Threading came completely off.

I love this body shaper! Bought it for a wedding but a it’s so comfortable I can wear it to work! I have bought so many and only wore them once and spent $$$ The support and comfort it provides is great! It’s smoothed out my lumps! ❤️😂.

I love how sexy this garment makes me feel. I break into a sweat trying to see past my boobs to clamp the hooks, but once I have it on my body looks amazingly different! I have a shape naturally but I also have a dupe, except for when I wear this garment.

I go down at least 2 sizes able to fit jeans around my waist, no rolls anywhere with room to spare. Only thing I HATE about it is the zipper. After wearing for a few hours the zipper starts pressing into my ribs.

That little clasp does nothing to keep the zipper from attacking nor does the piece of fabric behind it. And there’s nothing to keep the legs from rolling up so I find myself having to go to the bathroom more when I wear it just to keep rolling the legs down.

Love the compression this piece provides. The zipper lays flat and is barely visible. The crotch opening is perfect for quick relief. Garment is not difficult to take off and put back on for more time consuming restroom times.

Lace stitching on legs itches a bit and the shoulder straps could use a bit of padding. The garment itself however – DOES compress and hold – very well. Definitely worth it!!!.

The material is good. Not cheap. I bought this garment for postpartum, I’m 4’11 127lbs. Petite. I had a c section and no I don’t have a huge belly or pooch i have a pretty good abdomen but I wanted ultimate abdomen compression for uterus to go back to it’s regular size.

This garment doesn’t give a completely flat stomach. It compresses the waist just fine but it makes the abdomen stand out even more. As for the legs it feels kinda loose on the Lacey part. Idk if exchanging it for a XS would actually flatten out my abdomen.

The only two things it does for me that it claims to do it help with posture and compress the waist. Everything else NOPE. Not worth $100 in my opinion.

For the past 15 years or more I’ve purchased the Shapeez Ultimate over any other bra currently available. Nothing comes close to the quality of fit, coverage, support, durability and figure enhancing capability of the Ultimate.

I’d tried the Sport Bra also but found the Ultimate is better for me. As the years go on and gravity has its way I’m more and more thankful for all that’s offered in the slimming, smoothing capability of this wonderful product.

So comfortable, I’ve even slept in it! The Shapeez Ultimate costs more yet is worth every single penny. The durability is incredible!.

I wear a Shapeez every day, either black or nude, even in the summer. I finally decided to get an Ultimate Pretty though I was hesitant because I don’t like any show through. I actually like the fit a little better and they don’t show through my white button down shirts.

Though if you wear very sheer material they may show through. The girls are firmly contained because of how the top of the bra is seamed together. I will continue to buy the regular Ultimate but will begin to buy a few more black Ultimate Pretty because the design won’t show through and I like the fit.

Actually I like the fit in both styles so it’s really a toss up, which to buy. I also wear the Tankee style. Once I found my fit in Shapeez that’s all I wear. No more ride up and pulling all day long.

Pull on and done. Feel comfortable and look smooth all day long. They last a long time but they are a little expensive so I try to buy several whenever they go on sale.

I just tried these on the other day, under a very form fitting black dress and I’m wearing to a wedding. I actually got my exact size which is a 1X, I was able to roll them all the way up. Ladies, it is a challenge to get these all the way up but they have the signatures Swank stretch! I did not have any rolling down from left or right, front or back and it sucked my entire stomach in.

It sucked my stomach and to the point where it made the dress look a little bit big on me. I walked around the house had it on for maybe three hours, I forgot I had it on it’s absolutely comfortable.

I need more colors Swank !.

This shaper is perfect because it holds in and smooths out your mid section, but because it’s a thong it doesn’t hold in and flatten my butt. It also has no panty lines or lines accross your thighs so it allows for you to wear it with anything.

jeans, shorts, dress, romper, practically anything! I got a large and I am 5 ft 6 185 pounds. I love it!.

I Accidentally ordered a SMALL, however it shaped my stomach area a bit. It controls the stomach area for sure(Stuck in stomach look). It’s just the thong is uncomfortable. Needed the Medium for sure.

Thank you for asking for my feedback. I will be returning the item because it is too big. The quality of the item is great and I love the way it felt on so I wish I could keep it. However, I sit in a wheelchair all the time and The brace is too wide, not too big around.

So it pushes up on my *******. I would love one not as wide but then I’m assuming it would be smaller around the body. This does overlap by a good 6+ inches. Please let me know if you think you have a solution.

I’ve tried many and this is a recurring problem. I see in the photo you have the binder down over the hips. This is not possible when sitting which I think is why it does not fit me right.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that this support can be properly put on without assistance. The picture and description would lead one to believe that this brace would be very effective in supporting abdominal panniculus.

not the case. With the return policy not being worth my while, seeing that I do not reside in the U. S. , I thought that I could try selling it online but. ODDLY the company cuts the tags off of the braces before shipping with no explanation why.

therefore I will not be able to advertise as new. Other then a sticker with the company name on a generic clear plastic zip bag there is absolutely no sign that the Braceability company has manufactured this item.

Why can’t this be longer than 12 in. I’d really prefer one that can truck my entire abdominal area. I am a plus woman with a belly that hangs over because of my weight. I really wish there was a product out there that would take into consideration that not all bodies are build the same.

Please create a longer one and that doesn’t roll down when you sit. Maybe add some straps to hold it up?.

I really like this shaper. I ordered my regular bra size 40D and it fit very well. I’m 5’8″ and about 190lbs. The straps are a little wider than my other shapewear and don’t dig into my shoulders. Cups are full coverage which I like but I would be happier with a slight lining for modesty.

The hook and eye gusset is great for bathroom breaks but for some reason the fabric corners are really rough and sharp and dig into my leg so I feel like I am needing to adjust all the time which is not ideal at work.

I’m hoping with washing these sharp edges will soften. But in all other aspects this shaper is comfortable.

The word “firm” in this product name and “sculpting” in the description is a little deceptive as I found that this product only provides light support as a shaper. It provides a smooth look under outfits but does not really pull in your belly or accentuate curves.

Perhaps if I had gone a size larger I would have noticed more of a difference so I think this product may run a little large Positives: lightweight, soft fabric that does not dig in around the legs or shoulders; hook closure at the bottom, making it easy use the restroom withough having to remove the shaper; wide, comfortable straps that adjust.

Negatives: Support and sculpting is minimal; thin, unline cup which does not fit properly – I had to wear a bra OVER it to eliminate the bumpiness that the product created. Openings to insert cup liners would be helpful too.

I am very impressed with the bodyshaper. As a new Mommy, I still don’t have my pre-baby body back so this gave me the confidence to wear some different outfits besides yoga pants and a shirt. Some of the things I love are the fabric is very nice, gives a nice snug fit.

Kept me cool and very comfortable to wear all day. Loved the adjustable straps. The built-in bra is perfect for pretty summer low cut, clingoing form fitting dresses. Adored the firm support it provides.

I love Cysm as a whole brand. In fact, this is the 2nd piece I buy from them. The seamless garment is great and I am very please with their products BUT the one complaint I have about this piece is the removable straps.

You cant use this piece without straps and I wish they used the same design they use on their other pieces. I believe this piece could benefit from a seamless strap that won’t dig into the side of my chest when I wear it.

I would love to wear it every day as the support is amazing but I do not because it is very uncomfortable around my armpit chest area.

Well, one of the two I got made me feel like putting Texas inside Rhode Island. If fitted but it is very uncomfortable. The other one for me is just average quality. Got way better quality before.

I’m 5ft 7, 220lb, between Jean sizes 14-16 (American Eagle). Most my Cysm garments are 2x or 3x, I decided to go with a 3x. Thermal part has no stretch so it’s a challenge to put on. Shoulder straps dig in a bit and “*** hole” Fits a bit awkward.

Overall it’s a good garment just needs a few adjustments especially the thermal part, a bit of stretch will help us “belly gals”, and if you could size up do so.

I’m 5’4”, 170 pounds, size 14, with more of a tummy than I’d like. I bought this in size L. When I first put it on, I thought “Oh, I can still see my tummy pudge; not sure whether this is working. ” But when I put on my sweater dress over it, the tummy pudge was almost invisible! I was pleasantly surprised by how well it smoothed.

It’s reasonably comfortable, too. The firmness feels supportive, not strangling. The only negative is that the stitches where the straps attach are hard/stiff and rub the front of my armpits. Maybe they’ll soften up with wear and washing, or maybe I can attach some moleskin.

The hook and eye gusset took a little bit of wrestling to re-hook after using the facilities, but I eventually got the hang of it (helps if you put one foot up on the toilet lid).

The Open Bust Body Shaper is well made. I chose this body shaper because of the straps and the coverage of the entire midriff. I didn’t want to take the chance of another type of body shaper slipping and having to be constantly pulled up.

Sizing is always difficult for me, even after following the sizing chart. I returned my 1st purchase because it fit but was too tight for my comfort so I reordered a larger size. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Absolutely love the fit and function of this shaper. I have a baby pooch that I try to hide, especially when I wear dresses, and it works wonders without having to suffer with ‘bones’ (I work in an office so I’m seated a lot throughout the day, and if you’ve ever tried to sit all day with super-rigid shapewear, you know how uncomfortable it can be!).

I like the higher back, and always go with a WYOB shaper so I can accentuate those curves and minimize the ones I don’t want anyone to notice. It’s pretty true to size, and having had a WYOB tank made similarly by Maidenform, I knew I needed a size down for firmer control.

Also, I like the crotch. I tried one with a slit-type opening (with disastrous results), and this one is easier to undo/redo. Love it, and will order another in nude for under lighter colors.

I needed a shaper for long term daily wear. I tried a lot of them. For reference, my measurements are, under bust: 31”, natural waist: 29-30”, lower waist: 34”, hips: 38”. I’m a medium in most tops and a size 4-6 in most pants.

Height 5’1, weight 132. I tried medium and small, and kept the small. The medium would have been great for regular wear for most people. It gave nice shaping under clothing. When I first saw the small, I thought no way I was getting into it! When I wanted more compression than the medium, I squeezed myself into the small.

The small is a bit harder to get on, but really gives the stronger shaping I need. I wear it all day on a daily basis and I love the support it gives. Straps are a bit thin, but workable. They don’t rub my underarm area.

The body is seamless, a big plus for me. The body gives nice support from under bust to just above the hips. It does not squeeze the hips. The bottom has hook and eye closure, another huge plus for me – with daily wear, it makes bathroom breaks a breeze.

I like these, but I cannot stress enough to size down. I am almost 5’7 about 154 lbs and I got a medium at first. However, when I tried them on, they really didn’t do much in the way of shaping, tbh.

I then exchanged them for a small and when I first looked at them, I was like no way am I going to be able to pull one leg into these nor will I be able to breathe, lol. I did manage to get into them 😉 and I was happy that I felt like I was compressed a lot better than a medium.

But now I kind of wish I could’ve gotten an extra small believe it or not. Because they really do loosen after a couple of wears and I feel like I wish they compressed a bit more. Don’t be fooled by when you look at them at first and try them on at first.

They really do stretch out and I recommend going at the very least, a size down in order to get that shape wear effect that one would expect when spending this much money. I do really like these, but I feel like the material has gotten cheaper with Spanx.

They don’t feel as luxurious as they used to and that’s a shame with all the money we spend.

Product does what it is supposed to do, but could use a few design improvements. Whoever designed this clearly never wore it. Using as a stage 2 post abdominal garment. The body suit clips in the crotch should be positioned toward the front (IYKYK) for improved comfort and better accessibility.

The straps also need work. The garment itself has plenty of fabric/length in the torso so that is not the issue with the straps. The straps *do* irritate you after a few hours of wear as many reviewers suggest.

I thought this cami may be a replacement for the multi-colored one piece camis Soma used to have. I ordered the M/L but was contemplating getting the M/S. This cami is like wearing spanx: like putting on a harness.

I put it on and could barely get it over my bust and what a chore to get it off. So the measurements regarding fit are way off. Needless to say I returned the 2 camis i purchased. I wish Soma would bring back those seamless camis that were sold in a variety of colors.

Several years ago you stopped selling in colors and went with black or white only. Now they are gone.

Although I was appalled at the extremely limited selection of bras at Soma, this seamless shaping cami is a hit with me. It is, without doubt, the most comfortable cami I’ve ever had and am wearing one every day.

That said, I will not return to Soma for another bra unless they widen their selection again. They no longer have any of the bras that I’ve worn in the past. Almost all the bras have shaped cups that float away from the chest like a coat of armor.

They have almost no bras that hook in front, and all of those have the awful floating cups. Soma, please rethink your product selection so that you can regain the respect you once had.

Had a hard time getting size L/XL bothin stores and on-line. So glad it finally arrived. Believe it or not, I stopped into a Soma in Sarasota with the hope to buy 2 more and again. NOT available in my size.

I received these briefs as a free sample. The material is soft and pretty. The back does not ride up. The legs are fairly comfortable. The waist is about three inches too low. These briefs would have much more tummy control if the waist was higher.

As it is, the waist hits below my belly button and defeats the purpose of tummy control. Although I will probably continue to wear these briefs, I would not purchase them again.

I absolutely love these. I am one of those ladies who likes a good high cut brief and they are hard to find. This is exactly what I like. The material is soft and comfortable to wear. The cut is perfect and the panel in front has some control as well.

They don’t ride up and fit very well in the rear end. The cotton lining in the crotch area is also soft and comfortable. Overall I am extremely happy with these and will get them again.

These panties are very smooth and do have a nice amount of stretch in them. The waistband is too thin in width which causes some roll on the waist if you try to put it higher up on your waist to cover more of the belly.

If you want older women to purchase them, you’ll have to put the waist a little higher. That is since the mature women has a little more girth in the belly. That picture shows the waist band as wide,but that isn’t what I received.

If that were sent, they would have been the perfect bbreif with tummy panel.

I purchased this body shape because I thought it was pretty with the lace detail. I had never tried a body shape before, but had thought about it on several occassions. Not sure on how it would fit, or even if the I could get it on I debated purchasing it in my normal bra size, 38d or moving up to a 40 band size.

I went ahead and purchased it in my normal 38d bra size. When I first pulled it out of the packaging I thought yea right. I decided to give it a try. It was a little of a challenge putting it on the first time, but I credit that to lack of experience/technique.

Once it was on. It did not disappoint. The bra cups fit so perfect. The lace on top of the cups makes a smooth transition to my skin with no bulge. I feel the tummy could maybe be a little firmer, but it does help smooth my belly.

It is very comfortable. I recommend it and I will be checking back for more colors.

I bought this shaper for my husband to try and he is glad I did he loves it. He has had estrogen issues his whole life and his body developed more female shape than male. His top deffinately looks female.

He is 5’5 147 38B-28-40 figure so I bought him the 40C in buttercream and it fits him great looks like it was made for him. Only thing would like different is be able to get in a B cup since he is only a B the C don’t hold his girls up as good as a bra but he don’t like how a bra digs.

I will be getting him 3 or 4 more in the other colors. I’m glad it works for him…. Cami.

My post op tummy tuck binder would not stay in place. My dressings were falling out and I felt I didn’t have enough compression. I used paper tape to hold my dressings in place (avoiding incision sites), put this on from over my head, THEN applied the surgical binder.

So much better! I can tug the binder back in place without moving the dressings, compression is better, and bathroom access is easy. Needed help getting it all in place. The shapewear alone will be perfect once the binder isn’t needed.

I was a size 10 pant. The 34 was too difficult to put on, the 36 worked well. Wish the leg opening was a little looser, but didn’t seem to pinch drains. Cup TTS, supportive and flattering shape.

I’m 5/4, 125 lbs. , 34 DDD, and this bodysuit in a small is my absolute favorite staple. I have convinced colleagues and my sisters to get this piece after my first experience with it, and now I have three in different colors.

My sister couldn’t believe I wear a small being as busty as I am, however the material stretches and the small gives me excellent support without wire (I actually haven’t even tried a medium). The mid section is stretchy but tight (better and way less stiff than SPANX) and keeps everything put together well when I’m wearing anything that shows my shape, mainly with ribbed body dresses and anytime I’m wearing a tight’ish top.

This piece, plus so many others, have completely replaced all of my undergarments. I haven’t even worn a wire bra in months and I’ve completely quit and tossed items from another “mall” brand. The sculpting pieces are comfortable and don’t give me an unnatural lift, and in a way, have actually made me appreciate my changing body so much more.

This shapewear is so comfortable! I have tried a lot of different styles, and brands, and Skims is by far the best I have ever tried! The bodysuit is so comfortable it feels like you are wearing nothing yet somehow has MAJOR compression.

I still can’t figure out how that is possible! Most shapewear digs into you, moves around and doesn’t sit in the right place, rolls up or down, that I find myself readjusting and tugging on it all day.

Not with this bodysuit! I read some comments that it is hard to put on, ummm have you worn shapewear before haha? If isn’t hard to put on it isn’t doing it’s job in my opinion 😉 And once you get this on it is so comfortable and supportive it’s worth the effort.

The open gusset is a great feature as well. I was hesitant because it was so pricey but I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Trust me it is worth the money! Honestly, this waist control was amazing! Definitely shaped my waist for a wedding that I was coming out in where the bridesmaids dress was form fitting. Really shaped and tightened along with being comfortable!.

I’ve been buying this product for years and have slowly noticed its quality deteriorating. Unfortunately, this last purchase didn’t last 2 wears before developing a run on both legs completely from the ankle to the upper thigh.

Unfortunately, I find this product no longer worth the amount I’ve been paying over the years. This product does not qualify to carry the “SPANX” name and should be pulled from the market.

If I could give negative stars I would. I bought 2 pairs of these, one that according to their size chart would fit me. And, as insurance, I bought the next size up as well, because I really dislike the feeling of wearing a girdle.

Take them home & try them on. They are horrible, even the larger size is way too tight, I’d never wear it for hours at a time. I don’t really understand the popularity of Spanx. The most uncomfortable things EVER.

Can I bring them back???.

I actually went to Dillards to purchase another type of body shaper. However, after hearing my desires and answering a few questions, the Dillards employee recommended these spank!
