Joann had this yarn for about 50 cents more. Since stores are temporarily closed, I wrote and asked if my military discount could be applied. Waited a week for a reply and then found that DB had the same yarn for 50 cents less than Joann.
This ended up being near equal to my military discount. Another great thing about DB is that if they do not have a color in stock they don’t CANCEL those products (so you lose the sale price and have to reorder).
The simply let you know it’s back ordered and ship when it becomes available. You can choose to cancel if you d on’t want to wait. Joan contacted me 3-4 weeks later (after the back ordered colors had arrived) and told me that they would not accept my military discount as it is applied when purchasing in store.
The yarn I received says Full Moon 607 but it is most definitely green shades and not the beautiful blue shown in the photo. The color variation with the stripes is much more subtle than what is shown.
It’s also a bit fuzzy and I wonder if I would start working with it how much fuzzier it will get. I will probably return it as I already ordered green yarn which I like better than this and I really wanted the blue that was shown in the photo.
I recently crocheted a short-sleeved summer sweater using Ferris Wheel in Imaginary Garden. The yarn is a pleasure to work with, no nasty splitting, and the color changes are both subtle and beautiful.
I get so Many compliments. An excellent yarn to make a garment that’s a conversation starter.

I have aways chosen caron 1 pound yarn for projects because of the thickness of the yarn and how nice the project looked when completed. I recently bought my yarn online instead of inthe store where I could feel and see the thick ess of the different colors.
What a disappointment when my package arrived. The thickness of the 4 ply medium weight was more like baby yarn. I may need to find another brand of yarn for my crochet projects. I always recommended caron one pound to others when asked what my favorite was but no more.
4-ply worsted-weight yarn that is so beloved by knitters and crocheters that it inspired an entire family of yarns. This acrylic/wool blend is white with shimmering threads throughout and is machine washable for convenience.

Made from a blend of 60% cotton / 40% acrylic, Scheepjes Whirl projects are both lightweight and breathable. Unlike other gradient yarns, Whirl has a generous twist to enable speed while working the yarn and to help prevent splitting.
The beautiful drape of this yarn makes it perfect for shawls, accessories, garments and stylish home décor projects. Whirl has a unique twisted plied section, which gives it a characteristic ‘flavour’ all of its own! Each colour change is carefully tied in an optimum way to ensure the knot can be discretely hidden within your stitches.
Scheepjes Whirl is machine washable too! Scheepjes Whirl matches perfectly with Scheepjes Whirlette.
Whirl is a winner in my knitting stash. Great yardage. Good color transitions. Fairly priced. The color transitions are entertaining and the yarn is soft and knits easily. Knitting a gradient version of Hitofude with this purchase of Whirl.
The cotton/acrylic blend will be perfect for a wool-sensitive recipient.
The color combinations of these whirls (combinations in wheels of cotton and acrylic yarn in such a delicate gauge!) make the production of a light wrap, combined squares, or just long wide “crone-shawls” a utter JOY to knit! I keep several projects of the same general shape going at the same time, each of different fiber combinations of yarn.
I work with merino in fingering or sock, with cotton and acrylic when it’s Scheepjes, and with more exotic animal fibers and silk, moving from one light texture to another, depending on how my hands feel when my daily “chores” are out of the way.
The reward at the end of those chores is a the encouragement I need. Scheepjes whirls don’t tangle on me and I usually start at the outside and knit my way to the middle, enjoying the color shifts as I zoom along! Latch on to a whirl or two and give a Whirl a whirl! You’re going to love the result!.
Used this yarn to make a swim cover up and absolutely loved everything about it. Super soft, easy to work up, with a lovely drape. I’d heard these types of yarn could be splitty and frustrating, but didn’t experience that at all.

I think Chai is better for knitting than crocheting. When knitted it has a beautiful drape and is so pretty. I ordered the color amethyst and it’s gorgeous. The contrasting colors, grey and green, are a perfect blend with the amethyst.
I usually do not knit with linen, but loved a pattern that called for it. Tried this because it was a combo of silk and linen. It was not great to knit with, easily split, but I don’t think it was any worse than any other linen.
at least for me. It got a little softer after wet blocking. maybe as I wash it more, it will soften more. definitely has nice drape and the finished project looks good.

I bought this yarn to make a heavy blanket. I didn’t need a typical weighted blanket as they are too heavy for me. With this yarn I made a blanket that weighs about 9. 5 lbs. and I love it! It’s breathable and comfortable.
Yes, the thickness isn’t consistent and yes, there are the occasional odd strings. But that’s because it’s made of recycled fabric and I’m okay with it. It’s not the prettiest blanket I’ve made, but its my current favorite to use.
And even so, I think it has a certain charm and character. My only advice for anyone who wants to use it is: Buy enough for your project! I didn’t and had to order more so I ended up with two distinct shades of green.
Inprdered three balls of this yarn for a project. Upon recieving them, twonwere similar looking (color and size) and one looked bigger and darker. I started using the two matching colors, when i finished the first ball, i realized the second one was significantly thinner and a different material (the first was what i expected, like a typical t-shirt, the second ball was more like a sports jersey).
I looked at the third ball, that one is more like the second but much darker. I made what i had work (not much of a choice!) but while working the second ball, I found so many cuts in the yarn. They are tied together poorly, so ive lost almost a foot so far in properly tying the yarn together, and I’ve only just started using it.
The favourite yarn of arm knitters everywhere, Couture Jazz is a soft and fluffy knitted tube of fine, brushed acrylic. Make a trendy cowl in 15 minutes, or a blanket in under an hour!

Despite its incrediby soft handle this yarn is fully machine washable at 40 degrees and can even be tumble dried on a low heat.
Soft and delicious 4-thread acrylic yarn, which is balled up in a so-called pullskein. You can easily use the innermost thread and use the skein from within. There are many of us who will benefit from the skein not rolling away underneath the sofa while knitting/crocheting.
Or in the bag for that matter! Malaga is found in a wide range of colors and the fine acrylic has a wonderful lightness. If you don’t tolerate wool, here you have a wonderful and warm alternative. It is easy to deal with, both on the needles and as a finished product as it can be machine washed.
Malaga is a very versatile yarn which can be used for loads of projects from clothing and accessories to interior items like blankets, pillows etc. Malaga is a premium acrylic, so it has been spun from a very high quality.
This means that the yarn is processed in several steps, which may well be reminiscent of the processing of wool. Among these steps, the acrylic is combed, making it fuller and even softer.
There are many different types of yarn that can be used for crochet tops. The type of yarn that you use will depend on the look that you are trying to achieve and the level of difficulty that you are comfortable with.
If you are a beginner, it is probably best to start with a worsted weight yarn. This type of yarn is easy to work with and will give you good results. Once you have mastered the basic stitches, you can experiment with different types of yarn to create different looks.
A lot of people enjoy using cotton yarn for their crochet tops because it is very soft and has a nice drape. It is also easy to care for and can be machine washed and dried. However, cotton yarn can be a bit difficult to work with because it can split easily.
If you are using cotton yarn, it is important to be careful when working with it and to use a sharp crochet hook.
Another popular type of yarn for crochet tops is wool. Wool is a warm and durable fiber that is perfect for winter garments. It is also relatively easy to work with, although it can be a bit challenging to keep your tension even when working with wool.
No matter what type of yarn you choose to use for your crochet tops, it is important to make sure that you follow the care instructions carefully. This will help to ensure that your garments last for many years to come.
