My niece gave my daughter the first book in this series. My daughter became enthralled instantly. She has never read a whole book series and usually sticks to graphic novels. She will occasionally read a chapter book but not often.

She begged for this full series. I was delighted to oblige her. It was out of stock most places and she was visible shaken at the thought of there being a time lapse between her reading each book! I thought, wow, this is good.

I’ve been waiting for a series to really capture her attention like this and expand her reading away from graphic novels some. Not that I don’t like them but I wanted her to see how enjoyable bigger, wordier books can be.

I found the series here on Target ready to ship! We even got it a day early which was perfect because she had just finished the 1st book. That was a little over a week ago and she’s already on the 4th book.

She is so proud of herself and so in love with these books. I believe some themes may be a bit mature in these. I’ve only read about 30 pages of the companion novel to the selection set (1st three books).

It’s called happily ever after and sold separately. I think it is fine for my daughter as she’s read some books already with very mature themes. She is 11 and a half. Like anything else, you are the best judge of what’s appropriate for your child, there are plenty of excerpts online to read a few pages.

I had listened to the stories before on audio book, and it kept me wanting to hear more. They were very well written, exciting and romantic without all of the sex they seem to want to put into all of the books nowadays.

The story line was very compelling, and the different aspects were explained along the way very well. I liked it so much that I bought this set for my granddaughter who is a reader and in 1st year college now.

It was exciting enough to keep me going, and wondering about what was coming next when I had to stop listening for awhile, so I thought it might do the same for her. As I said it wasn’t full of sex like so many are, but the intrigue was enough to make it well worth the journey.

It had quite a few humorous spots as well. Very good. Highly recommend for an enjoyable reading night in, but if you have to put it down for work or other ‘life’ things, you are able to, until you can get back to it again.

I bought these books for my kids who are now in their 20’s. They loved them. My daughter did NOT like to read but she read all of these books. Once you find a book a non-reader likes they WILL read. Now I am buying this series for a friend’s daughter who claimed she doesn’t like to read.

She’s 11 yrs old. I sat her down one day & started reading one of these books to her & she listened attentively & even asked me questions about what was going to happen next. She took the book home with her.

I am excited to get any kid reading. Opening up a new world by reading for a kid will educate them in so many ways – stronger vocabulary, grammar, imagination, conversing, knowledge. That is an excellent gift for any kid.

These were first out of stock but I was soon able to order. They arrived way before I expected them , which is always good because they were a Christmas gift for one of my granddaughters. She was really excited to get them.

I bought these after seeing the film and I wasn’t disappointed. If you likes the film you will love these. The plot differs from the film but that doesn’take a difference to the enjoyment I got out of the first book.

As a trio the books are extremely well written and the characters are well rounded. You are rooting for them to complete their mission. The photographs dotted through the books just add to the charm and magic of the series.

If you like Harry Potter or the Percy Jackson books then you will enjoy these no matter how old you are.

I got this for a young man who was struggling with his reading. I tried all kinds of books to keep him interested and nothing kept his interest until this boxed set. He breezed through the first book and is aalmost finished the second.

Not only is he reading but he is retaining what he read. YAY! The set was delivered on time as promised which is rare these days. I am extremely happy with my purchase.

I remember reading this series for the first time as a kid; the excitement of flipping each page, the love I grew for the characters. This is definitely a great series for a young reader to get into.

Erin Hunter has done an excellent job of providing books for young teens and tweens with the set being fast-paced enough to maintain interest but sophisticated enough to expand vocabulary. Definitely worth the purchase.

I was a little late to the show when it came the Vampire Academy Series, I purchased a box set and spread out the Rose and Dimitri goodness for about a year. I have to admit that it was the film adaptation that inspired me to pick up this collection of books.

The tongue-in-cheek witty one liners and kick-butt heroine had me sold instantly. The film didn’t get that much praise, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the silliness and mythology of the world, though it was easy to see where it failed.

There is so much information in every book in this series, that the movie could not include it all in order to help drive the plot forward. I also did not get the chemistry from the couple on screen that I did in the novels.

Richelle Mead is a master of plot. The novels just kept getting better the further I got into the series. My favourite being ‘Blood Promise. ‘ What starts as a typical smart-mouthed teen, Rose really develops into a selfless warrior.

I did want a little more from the end of the series though; there were many questions I did not get answers to, but I’m wondering if it will get explored further in the Bloodlines series. An attractive boxed set that gave me many, many hours of fun entertainment and solidified Rose as one of my favourite heroines.

Glad to have it in my library collection.

Although my boxset came in without the white and pink cover on the first book the bookset as a whole is incredible, the covers feel so smooth and are all uniform to eachother. I have read this story before but bought myself a set for my shelves and I cannot wait to reread and rediscover the story within them.

First she got me feeling all the feels in vampire academy, my go to series and now a second series with my favourite supportive characters and those old ones still making appearances. They are something I can read over and over and never be bored.

Richelle mead has given me an amazing world I can get lost in and until I one day (dreaming for this day) get a third series I will continue reading Vampire academy and bloodlines series over and over again.

Great book series. It may be a young adult series, but a good read for anyone. Just when you think you know what is going on, the author throws a curve. I enjoyed the first three books and literally cried at the end of the third book the first time I read it.

The book Four was a great insight to what Tobias was dealing with throughout the series.

I loved the first book and movie so much that I bought the rest of the books from the series and the others were not as great as the first. I think the second book is good, but the third was a lot more laborious to read.

I also never read “four” because at that point I was discouraged and didn’t think it would be worth reading. With that being said, I still recommend reading at least the first book.

I love this series. I love how it’s not something that’ll actually happen but I love how it’s written like it actually does happen. Idk how to explain myself correctly since it is 12 AM LOL! But I absolutely love this series ! Gets you on the edge of your seat ! I love the books more than the movies but that’s just my opinion :).

This set of books looks nice displayed on a shelf, but heaven forbid you actually try to read any of them. The ink will smudge if you touch the text even briefly, and since the margins are so narrow, there’s no way to comfortably hold the book without damaging it.

These editions also omit all of Tolkein’s illustrations except for the maps, but even then, the books are so small that the writing on the maps is almost unreadable. If you really want to read The Lord of the Rings, you’re better off spending a bit more on hardcover editions to get books that can withstand being handled.

I got this set to replace my old set that was literally falling to pieces. Re-reading this classic is like visiting an old friend. Familiar, but never ceases to satisfy. Not only compelling plots, fully developed characters, and timeless themes, but beautiful phrasing throughout.

Never cared much for the long didactic poetry, so I kind of skim over that.

We love these books, which are now a replacement for those we lost in a house fire. I love they are boxed together (so as to keep them together) and that they were well packaged. I do not understand why the delivery van does not press the doorbell to alert me to the fact they are there? Otherwise we are enjoying the reading of them as we travel.

I’ve been a fan of FMA for years now, and always wanted to own the manga volumes – and now I do! Got it for an amazing deal, because individually the volumes can really stack up price-wise. Volumes come in this really sturdy and massive cardboard FMA box, looks really nice.

Little detail I appreciated was that there was velcro on the box, so it’s easy to open and doesn’t damage the cardboard when opening. Strong plastic handle as well, so you can carry it instead of lugging it around.

I waited months for this set since it was out of stock for a long time, but the wait was well worth it.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING DEAL. You get the whole manga series AND a bonus novel! The quality of the box it comes in is actually great! There’s Velcro on the box to keep it closed. Plus, a handle! It’s beautiful!.

Introduced Ivy & Bean to my granddaughter on Christmas. She loved the books so much she has almost completed the series! She is in second grade – did a book report on one of the books & got several students interested in reading the series also!.

My soon to be first grader loves these books! She is a higher level reader but any first grader can read and the girls while silly provide great learning experiences for her.

I purchased the boxed set of three Ivy + Bean books 4-5 and 6 for my grand-daughter and she was very surprised to find the paper dolls that came with them. I plan to purchase more boxed sets for her at Christmas and her Birthday.

First of all, I love the “packaging” of this book. The cover looks like a parcel — so cute and so clever. Then there is the rabbit. “Not a Box” has drawn comparisons to “Harold and the Purple Crayon”, another very good, buy-worthy book, but in some ways I prefer this book.

Because of the rabbit. The rabbit is drawn in that deceptively simple way (rather like Mo Willems’ pigeon), is nameless and gender-neutral. Any child can relate to the rabbit. Recently, my seventeen-month-old son began to empty all the toys out of his toy box (and scatter the toys ALL over the family room floor) and then try to climb into the empty toy box.

For his safety and my sanity, I had to move his toy box and set up an empty box in it’s place. Now he climbs into the empty box. I remember doing this when I was very young. See, any child can relate to a rabbit with an imagination and an empty box.

The story and illustrations are easy-to-follow, toddler-simple. This book works great for story time with a large group of children, or story time with just one child.

Lovely book to show parents why playing with the box is more fun than the electronic toy that has three preset sound effects. I was excited to see not a stick but watched it online and prefer not a box.

the 2 and a half year old likes the repetition and to ‘read’ it by himself. he suggests a box makes a good turtle shell. i would like to see “it’s not a puddle”.

this book is very creative i think its brilliant. i bought this book for my very imaginative son and he thinks its wonderful. the story is easy for the littleness to understand and it creative enough for the older kids to be interested too, the book is not so long as to bore the bubs either just a well rounded story.

The books unfortunately didn’t come in the best condition. The box itself didn’t play the music it was supposed to and the books themselves were pretty eh. Two of them had spines that weren’t fully glued on (so i’ll have to glue it myself), I also found a literal human booger in the back of one of the books as soon as I opened it (which was extremely disgusting), there was also glue smeared on the inside of all of the covers and a few rips on the inside parts of the covers including a big rip on the inside of the four swords cover.

Also, there was a small misprint in the four swords book regarding the chapter numbers. Overall, I’m pretty sad with what I got.

These books are great. They have only minimal pages in full color, they’re mostly black and white. The chest is really cool too, but there was no sound effect. That would have been absolutely perfect.

The failure of the audio feature definitely detracted from the overall rating. I still recommend the set.

Great collection of some wonderful stories. If, like me, you are a gamer who appreciates the story more than the mechanics, you’ll love this collection. Starting with the Ocarina of Time, these books will take you through the Zelda stories in beautifully drawn detail.

One thing I will warn about – be prepared to read them backwards! Obviously they have been directly translated from Japanese, which reads from right to left. They have just replaced the text and not flipped the images, so you read the books from right to left! Not a major issue and you do get used to it, but it’s worth a mention.

This a collection of books covering two great series. One is about the rise of the Mongol Empire which stretched from the Pacific Coast of China all the way west to Europe and was, I believe, the biggest Empire in recorded history.

It is about the life of Temujin aka Genghis Khan, the building of the empire by him and Kublai Khan ad other family members. It is a long time since I last read this series and I am looking forward to reading it again! The Mongols were master horsemen on there smallish but extremely sturdy horses and expert bowmen from horseback.

They could probably be considered to be to the first exponents of the “blitzkreig” with their lightning attacks on horseback and deadly archery skills. They were also exponents of extreme terror tactics, taking some towns and brutally killing everyone, like Vlad the Impaler, I think, when they wouldn’t surrender.

Lots of others surrendered to avoid the same fate. The other series included in this 10 book set, at a very reasonable price, is about the Roman Empire and Julius Caesar. I haven’t read this serie and I am looking forward t doing so.

Great book series. The only thing is that they are pocket books with smaller font. I thought they were a normal size books…but again it was a good deal!!

Packaged in a box set of 4 books – two of which have recently been made into box office hit movies. John Green is the type of author, who, when you are reading his books, has a way of grabbing you and absorbing you into the storyline.

I read the books as a precursor to seeing the movies. I had previously read The Fault in Our Stars and loved it. When I saw the box set on sale, I bought it because Paper Towns had just been released as a movie and I wanted to read the book first.

I freely cried while reading both books because I was so engrossed in the storyline and could feel the pain of the characters. I am currently reading “An Abundance of Katherines” and am enjoying it as it has the same John Green, free-flowing writing style.

The box set is a great, economical way to purchase these 4 books.

John Green is an amazing author. My daughter has read the books before but borrowed them from the library. She is reading them all again now that she has her own copies. A fault in our stars and Turtles all the way down are her favourites.

My 12 yr. old granddaughter asked for two of these books for her birthday, but when I saw the four book set and the great price I just couldn’t pass it up even though she already had two of the books.

When she opened the set she was thrilled and knew exactly which two friends of hers hadn’t read the books she already had and asked if she could give those to them. So three little girls were very happy and very quite later that day.

Since I saw the film first, I found myself comparing everything to the motion picture, but that’s just me! This novel honestly was such a quick, light read -which was so refreshing following my last 500-page read.

Definitely a good in-betweener to break up some thick, content-heavy books if you want a break, but want to keep reading something. Lara Jean, the main character, is definitely my favourite! She struggles with the type of stuff that a girl her age is bound to deal with.

I liked this a lot since the books I usually read present a girl of around the same age learning to fight demons, saving the world or having their lives put in peril. Lara Jean and her sisters are so close-knit and vowed to make life as easy as possible for their father, worrying about his happiness.

This, along with the inclusion of their Korean heritage (particularly through food) are some of my favourite elements of this book. If this book were a person, it would without a doubt be a foodie. All throughout the book we see Korean food, pizza, baking, sandwiches.

I did knock this novel’s review score down, because although this book dealt with themes consistent with YA, such as self-discovery, I felt it did not delve into the issues quite as far as I had hoped.

Additionally, I could not help but feel that Lara Jean’s narrating voice was not as mature as I had expected either. My very, very favourite part of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, hands-down, is seeing Lara Jean and Peter interact while they are fake-dating.

With the whole “was that for real?” element, it is so constantly “will-they, won’t-they” that my heart was emotionally invested from the moment it began.

I’m an adult, and I had never read anything by Jenny Han. After all the fuss about this book I decided to read it myself. It is absolutely beautiful. It is a tale of family, sorrow, heritage, sisters, single dad, first love, and Lara Jean’s love of cooking and life.

It is poignant and moving. Encouraging and uplifting. Has values and weaves a beautiful tale. I read this in two days and then had to read the rest of the series, which was equally beautifully written.

There are now films made, which of cause have bits changed and major story arcs missing. They capture a bit of the charm but these books are just timeless classic beautifully written stories. A must have for any bookshelves and certainly one for girls to grow up with.

Perhaps this generations Anne of Green Gables. Loved it.

Apparently the month of April was a Jenny Han month for me because I had pretty much binged on most of her books. I ended up reading the whole Summer trilogy one right after the other then read Fire with Fire and finally received a gorgeous ARC of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before in my mailbox right afterwards.

To say that I love Jenny Han writing style and her ability to tell a story in such a realistic and relatable way is probably an understatement. The truth is that within the last few years I’ve been reading quite a bit more contemporary books than I normally would have considered before I started my book blog and I’ve actually been really enjoying them.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was absolutely sweet funny charming and definitely emotionally charged. I had an absolute fantastic time reading it and found that I didn’t want to put it down until I was finished with it.

The family dynamic was masterfully written and definitely managed to pull at my heart strings a bit. I loved how close the three sister’s were with their father and how they all interacted with one another.

If something was happening with one of them then it was happening with all of them. Each of them have wonderful appeal and different personalities that shined through the pages of this book in so many ways.

Laura Jean was beautifully fleshed out and such a wide-eyed optimistic hopeless romantic. I loved the fact that she sort of lived in her own little romance story and wrote all of these letter’s to all the boys that she loved but only kept them for herself as a way of letting them go when her heart felt like it was time for her to move on.

It’s not surprise that it was a complete mess when all of those letter’s that had been written had been accidentally mailed to all of those boys. The humor and wit that was conveyed this this story was balanced really well with Laura Jean having to deal with the consequences from the fall out of those letter’s having gotten out when they were never really supposed to have been seen at all by anyone let alone the boys they were written to.

Seeing the way that Laura Jean handled the situation was refreshing because she acted just as any panicky teenage girl would in this situation and I enjoyed that Jenny Han had written her reactions and feelings in such a realistic way.

Jenny Han has such a wonderful way of building up amazing dynamic in her books as well as allowing her characters to grow and evolved realistically from beginning to end. It’s one of the reasons that I enjoy picking up her books and delving into the stories she creates.

It was so much fun reading about the two main crushes Peter and Josh because you never really knew which one was going to end up being the potential one to kick-start a real relationship off with Laura Jean.

I know the one that I wanted her to be with but I won’t divulge that here because I don’t want to give too much away. Both of the guys were pretty amazing in their own ways. The romance part of this novel was so much fun so if you’re looking for an emotionally charged read that has some pretty good wit and humor peppered throughout it then To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before will be right up your contemporary alley.

4. 5 Stars – Originally reviewed on Just Me My Books. Taking place in a dystopian-esque future where North America has fallen and been reborn as Illea, a country ruled by the King, and divided into eight castes.

The story follows America Singer, a teenager from Five, the artist caste. Secretly dating Aspen, a guy from a lower caste, America, along with the other young ladies of society, are invited to sign-up for The Selection.

The Selection, which is essentially The Bachelor, aims to find Prince Maxon a wife and future ruler. Forced to sign up by Aspen and her mother, America believes she’ll never get selected, but she couldn’t be more wrong.

Having just been dumped by Aspen, America moves into the palace with thirty-four other young ladies, all vying for the Prince’s attention. Despite agreeing to being just friends, Maxon and America continue to grow closer, much to the annoyance of the other girls.

With outside rebels threatening to break into the Palace, Maxon must choose The Elite – the top ten girls. Will America make the cut and does she want to be there? To me, the story is definitely The Bachelor meets The Hunger Games meets Red Queen – a weird mixture that work really well together.

While the main story is about the Selection itself, I enjoyed the subplot of rebels trying to get within the palace, and I hope this continues to be a focus throughout the series, because I really enjoyed this aspect of the world.

It also gave America and Maxon such interesting scenes, and shows that they work really well together.

I don’t have the book itself as I read it from the library but I still have fond memories of it! This books is a classic when I comes to romance with a good sprinkle of romance! It retells a story of a future USA where war had happened and there is now royalty.

People are decided into social classes and assigned numbers, one being the highest and seven, the lowest. America, a musician in the fifth class is living in poverty but has a life planned out with her boyfriend Aspen.

At the same time, the prince of Illea was looking for a suitor in a television reality show like style called the ‘Selection’ America is forced by her mother to participate and gets chosen. There she has to choose between her former boyfriend and the crown prince.

I have this book a four stars because it was a good no brainer read with a interesting dynamic as well as romantic element. I was fun and I enjoyed all the four books that I have read so far. Would recommend to YA fantasy/sci-fi/ romance readers.

The Selection: To start off, I will say that I liked this book more that I thought I would. I was originally looking for a book for a reading challenge (needed blue covers) and just happened to see this at the library and figured it didn’t look too bad and that I would just read it since nothing else was working.

I will admit, the concepts are not very original. The ideas that is is in between The Bachelor and Hunger Games (in the dystopia sense)is fairly accurate, with heavily leanings on The Bachelor. The love triangle setting adds a bit extra to character complexity.

I will not say much on what the books is about. The summary already does that in itself on this book. The book is written from America’s perspective and what I will say otherwise is what I thought. First, I must admit, I dislike the character names.

Yes I know the last names refer to what the person does, but the first names are horrid in my opinion. Yet the main thing is the writing style and pace. I literally laid down last night thinking I would read a few chapters.

Next thing I knew, the sun would be rising soon and the book sat finished in my hands. I don’t get that with many books anymore. This book made me giggle at times, and twitch in anticipation at others.

It left me desperately craving the sequel. Wondering who she picks, or who Maxon picks,what is up with the other girls, etc. So, while the concept is not original, the characters are interesting, and the story is written in a way that is easy to get wrapped up in it.

I honestly had a hard time rating this. In the way in captured my attention once I started reading, and my desire to read it again make this series an easy 5. As a series, I love this! The 2nd and 3rd books especially.

This is an easy guilty pleasure read that is clean and fun. Highly recommended no matter what you normally read. I have referred many to this book that would not normally read something lie this. All have enjoyed it!.

I bought it a while ago and forgot to write a review but i was doing some shopping and realised and look where we are. The actual product is really nice and material is durable, like the cardboard box to secure the book and the velcro straps.

The art was beautiful and don’t get me started on the storyline. I love anime and really wanted a buy manga for a really long time so this was the perfect chance. I had already watched the anime but that didn’t change anything because it had so many new details that the anime missed so it was nice to find out what’s new.

The characters are hot too. Overall very good :)).

I love assassination classroom so much, and this book set was definitely worth it. Perfect quality, no flaws and even came with an exclusive poster. Recommended highly!

I absolutely love this box set!! It so beautiful shows Korosensei’s personality. I smile every time I see this box set. It just brings joy to a room. Having all the issues in the same box set gives them a home and purpose.

I would highly recommend this series and the box set. It’s a great read with heart, soul, assassinations and humor.

This product is one of the best things I’ve ever bought ONLINE!!! this boxset can save you quite a bit of money, other websites usually have its price higher, but this is a lot cheaper. Not only was it cheap, it was in PERFECT condition!!! and VERY FAST delivery!!! My final review rating 10/10.

If you prefer reading One Piece manga in physical form and have a collection mindset as I have, this is definitley the best way to fill out your collection of Tankobon volumes. Purchasing individual volumes is far more costly, plus the box itself is it’s own artwork AND there are additional bonus items within too! All I need now is for the fourth boxset to be released so that I can be up to date once again, in the meantime I will just have to reread the whole series! Definitley worth the price, would recommend to every One Piece fan.

I haven’t opened the box as it is a present for my Granddaughter but I know she will be very excited to get the Little Miss ones as she loves the Mr Men. Lovely box encourages children to open it and read.

A great gift for a 5 year old who’s obsessed with the Mr men and Little Misses. All the books kept in a strong card box makes it easy to tidy away. This set will look good on the bookshelf.

I have always been a fan of the movie and getting this series in one package at a fantastic price too was a dream come true. They are all hardcover, and I love the pages – giving it a oldish rustic feel and they were intact.

There were a few dents at the top edges of the spine but they were serious damage that affected their appearance at all so it’s livable. In terms of the story, I have only read up to the third book. I knew as I was reading it that this is a children’s book so I wasn’t being overly particular about depth of the story but I loved how it’s written, love each of the children and what I also liked about the book was how they defined words in the stories (some may find this weird but I oddly liked it).

It worked with a children’s book and yes, I knew some of the words but there were others I heard of but never really knew what they meant etc.

My daughter loves the books. However, her first comment after pulling a couple of books out of the box was: “why is there a Netflix sticker on each book?”. I saw other comments in the reviews about the same thing.

It is disappointing on set this expensive when the books are so nice to have a sticker on each book. If not for the sticker the set would have been 5 stars.

This is a beautifully presented collection with rough-cut pages and handsome hard covers. The only detraction was the utterly tacky ‘now a series on netflix’ sticker on the cover. Minus one star for having to remove them.
