Overall: This interface is absolutely perfect for my particular situation. As a voice actor, I utilize an ART MPA II mic pre with upgraded tubes for maximum clarity and quality. This interface allows me to completely bypass the preamps inside the interface to avoid any coloring of the specific sound I am seeking with my external mic pre and tubes.

Although, I must say – the internal preamps within this interface are incredible and can produce a professional level recording on their own. This works out well, for me, when I am traveling and still need to work – but can’t transport my entire rack.

I have used many difference interfaces, and there is literally nothing I do not like about this unit. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I’ve been using my standalone digi-recorder as an interface for the last 5 years. It still works and because it has 8 mic inputs it will record 8 simlutaneous channels of digital audio onto my DAW. But, I bought the iD22 because while it has fewer inputs, (I mostly only ever use 1 at a time, anyway) it has numerous other features, plus the quality people have come to expect from Audient mic pre’s, and it brought my DAW’s latency down by a staggering amount.

It also has a few other useful console & control-room interface features that make it feel and operate like a much more expensive piece of pro kit (phantom, -10db pad, phase reverse, HPF, assignable function keys, monitor dim & cut and a nice headphone pre) Because of circumstances, I mainly mix on headphones, so I need to know the headphone output is good.

It is, and it’s made me hear quite a bit in my mixes that weren’t revealed with such accuracy prior.

Product wasn’t as good as described. The main USB connection is loose and a bit tricky to get a proper connection. Input 1 is good but the gain on input 2 is very noisy. I don’t have other equipment on hand yet to check all the other inputs but as this is a USB device, the main connection is a concerning issue.

The noise on the gain for input 2 is bothersome but once it’s set, it’s fine. This limits the use on input 2 as it can’t be adjusted during recording. For the price, I’m okay with it. It’s just not as good as it was described in the ad.

As it was a used item, unlikely there’s a replacement available anyway.

I’m an owner of a the UR22C already so this felt very natural to upgrade to. The build quality is really sturdy. The controls feels good and you get some nice DSP driven effects to monitor with. Just a few things to note.

There’s no input to daw know like on the UR22C. All the mixing is done in the dspmix app. And the WDM driver only supports 2x input 2x output if you’re on Windows. Personally I use ASIO so it’s not an issue but if you’re planning on using ASIO4ALL you’ll only be presented with 2x in 2x out.

Overall though a solid piece with good quality inputs and outputs and lots of control in the mixer app.

Straight out of the box I was reassured by the solid all metal construction. Being someone who has gigged and who now records performances at different locations, this was very important for me. The unit fits easily into my guitar bag.

Connecting to the UR22 is straightforward via the ubiquitous USB, so after plugging in my Windows 10 laptop it was setup and working in next to no time. No additional external power was required, the UR22 is powered directly from its connection to my computer.

I found this a handy feature in practice, as there was no need for any additional socket outlet / transformers or the like. I bought the UR22 because of it’s purported zero latency, a problem I’d been plagued with using previous sound cards.

But after firing up my DAW, Studio One Artist, SM58 microphone and battered headless bass. The previous issues of annoying delays with less than predictable levels of noise had been rendered a thing of the past.

I now capture clear clean vocals with my SM58 that no longer require any processing or post production. And guitar parts are easier to record without me having to compensate for the delay. Have so far found it great for going out and recording multi part backing vocals and parts where I have not been able to get all the players together, This has sped up the whole production process for me, and the UR22 has exceeded my expectations.

Due to the way Steinberg sets this up it takes hours to just input the codes to get started. Since I needed something to work rather immediately this wasn’t the ideal choice. Once it was connected it proved to be awkward and mostly unworkable.

After 3 or 4 days I just sent it back and I’m awaiting my refund. It might be a good device, but for me it was completely unworkable and for the most part a waste of my time and energy.

I’ve owned a lot of interfaces. I’ve used everything from focusrite to built in interfaces on effects units like the helix. This studio 26c is phenomenal. The preamps are amazing, the ease of use is a godsend, the front display makes monitoring the signal effortless, and the MIDI inputs are an extremely welcomed feature.

I use mine with a MacBook Pro, running Logic Pro X. Whether I’m recording mic’d up amps or direct signal to plugins, the results are always massively satisfying and phenomenal. On a few interfaces, I ran into signal issues when using active pickups on guitar.

Either the signal would clip constantly during dynamic picking, or I’d have to dial the input gain so low that the recording would suffer. At first,I thought it was an issue with the active preamps in the guitar circuit but I had the same results with active bass circuits.

When using the bill in interfaces on the Ampero, Mooer fx units, the base signal levels were so weak that even running plugins like neural dsp, it would sound strange. Finally I got tired of inconsistent results and fighting to get consistent results that I bought the Presonus to see what it could offer.

Best decision I’ve ever made. Now, my entire studio setup, from monitors to interface, is all Presonus. My Eris E5’s have been rock solid and consistent across the board for years now. I haven’t run into any weird driver conflicts,or hunting down oddball solutions since switching to Mac, so those running into issues on windows 10, I can absolutely confirm that the issue is with windows and not with Presonus.

If you want an affordable, professional level, workhorse, with ease of use, consistency, flawless performance, then look no further than the studio 26C. Your wallet will thank you and your recordings will be better for it.

IMHO it’s miles beyond any focusrite interfaces that I’ve used in this price range.

I owned a Phonic Firefly 302usb. With time Win10 just stopped supporting it after an update (just use it with my laptop, now). Had to upgrade. and I needed SPDIF IN/OUT for my POD XT. To say this interface is amazing is an understatement! It has an app for iOS or Android which let’s you control EVERYTHING.

REMOTE! In the vocal booth? Behind the kit? In another room? It came with Studio One 4 Artist. which works PERFECTLY with this interface. like, it FULLY uses every bit of the 1810c capabilities! So much so, that since it was missing VST support I decided to upgrade to 5.

5 Artist has VST/VSTi support. but there was an AWESOME sake, so I bought Professional. I’ve been using Cakewalk for decades. I’ve tried switching DAWS so many times with little success or even enjoyment/progress.

Studio One opened, asked ifvi wanted to use shortcuts from another DAW. I chose Cakewalk. haven’t hardly opened Cakewalk since! IT’S THAT GOOD. combined with this interface, you have a MONSTER. You can add a light pipe Mic Preamp and add 8 inputs at 24bit/44,1khz.

or 4 @ 48! 16 channels of MIDI. 8 regular inputs. plus SPDIF? You can build this up to WHATEVER your needs are! Home studio? Upgrade to a 16 track interface? Run an e-kit, keyboard, foot controllers, all MIDI (and with SPDIF, you still have used NONE of the 8 inputs! With the multiple outs, I can run to my mixer, my near field monitors, AND my far field monitors! No rewiring or problems.

IF THIS FITS YOUR NEEDS, it is TOTALLY worth it! Comes with Studio One Artist and LOTS of built in and free plug-ins and instruments. plus MORE CAN BE BOUGHT! If I didn’t already have a BUNCH of VSTs and BFD 3 (and every expansion.

way too much money to “just switch”), I wouldn’t have upgraded.

I thought my PreSonus AudioBox USB 96 was pretty dang good, but this PreSonus 24c is even better! Much quieter, more audible gain, goes up to 196kHz, and it comes with the awesome Studio One 5. 4 software- the full Artist version! This great little interface also has the midi sockets in the back, so when I get my keyboard out of storage I’ll be able to plug it right in.

My only (small) complaint is that the 48v Phantom Power goes to both mic inputs; that’s not good for me, since in my setup I use one dynamic mic & one condenser mic. Since I don’t want to take the chance of blowing my dynamic mic, I don’t use it with this interface; luckily, the dynamic mic sounds great plugged straight into a USB port, and that way I still get to use it in Studio One, along with my condenser mic using the PreSonus.

This interface would be fantastic if it had separate phantom power switches, but as is it’s only incredible! I’m really happy with this clean sounding interface!.

This interface can replace a mixer and interface combo. The integrated software allows playback without feedback loops. Easy to assign ins and outs. Preamps sound amazing and the pads, air feature, and INST/LINE switching is easy.

Upgrading from a 2i4 and this is very smooth. Everything stays plugged in and always sounds great. Livestreams, recording, practice and teaching just got a lot easier since I no longer need my mixer and interface to route audio.

Extremely quiet. No noticeable latency. Works seamlessly with a new Mac Mini M1 and Logic Pro. I first bought a Focusrite 2i2. Fell in love with it, but it only had 2 inputs and no midi inputs, and only 2 outputs.

I now run 2 stereo keyboards, a midi keyboard, 2 mics, a guitar, and run them through 2 different stereo speakers (on pair as monitors, one as loudspeakers). I could not be happier with this purchase.

I was using the line in on a sound blaster X-Fi plat to record into my DAW from a Mackie mixit 8. This meant the inevitable loss of range and woeful latency, an absolute nightmare for recording vocals.

I also have stereo sound sources that I wanted to record (External synth and VT03). The 2 inputs being able to take the left and right channel for stereo (From the mixer) is great, with the added bonus of midi ports for my synth.

The sound quality and low latency from this device is fantastic, all the synth sounds are coming through bright and clear. Vocals from the VT03 sound as they should with very minor latency that is barely noticeable (At maximum resolution!).

I would definitely recommend this to anyone starting out with computer music – it is the missing piece that completes my home studio and certainly did not disappoint.

the Onyx does just as advertised, simply and at an unbeatable price. Good clean signal from my e. guitar and mic inputs, playback sounds good. Just make sure you check its input/output levels are up in the Audio/MIDI Setup controls (Mac); I didn’t at first and couldn’t get even close to a loud enough output from the Producer, thought it was a bad unit and about to return it when I stumbled upon Audio/MIDI Setup.

Was just used to my previous Apogee Duet which uses their Maestro software to set levels instead of CoreAudio.

I was previously using a Line S**t UX2 since 2011. I can tell you the model name IS NOT the acronym for User Experience. That thing SUX!! The Onyx Producer 2. 2 has the Onyx preamps which, to me, sound great.

I love the independent channel gains and combo jacks. But the BIGGEST selling point, for me, was the Input/DAW blend. I can still hear what I’m tracking against whilst being able to adjust out the latency the track in recording.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS INTERFACE!!.

I know this isn’t the Mackie of old (my ancient 1604 VLZ), but still a very solid unit. I had read in another review that someone had better results using a USB 2. 0 port, so I tried that. Had lots of ticks and pops on playback from Spotify and iTunes, so I moved to a USB 3.

0 port on the back of the machine and that solved the problem – FYI, YMMV. I do wish the driver had a speaker EQ designed in, rather than just loudness and bass boost. but I can live with it.

I use this to record line in as well as mic’d amps and it has a clear sound. Using headphones I hear no noise coming from the preamps. It’s built very well and seems like it could survive drops of that should occur.

The knobs are easy to us and everything is clearly identified.

The driver date is 2018 which makes the product current. I haven’t done any recording yet. IT HAS A SERIOUS ON / OFF PROBLEM. If you are not a professional you will have a lot of problems. I’m pretty familiar with interfaces.

Soundwise, it’s very smooth and should perform well. I have had no pops or interference. Tascam could (and should) update the driver software.

I am pairing this unit up with my Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 to get 18 analog ins. Everything works great! The Clarett Octopre sounds fantastic and I am able to insert all my external preamps to the back of the Octopre for the best sound quality.

Overall, I am very satisfy with the unit.

I bought the 4-channel Clarett to replace my aging Digi 003. The 003 works fine but I don’t want to upgrade Pro Tools for it, and I was running into freeze-ups using OS X Capitan with an old version of Pro Tools.

I am running the Clarett to a 2014 Mac Pro with 12 cores and 16 gigs of memory (the one that looks like a black cylinder). It’s a monster desktop machine. The buyer needs to get their own Thunderbolt cable, by the way.

The unit does not come with one. The Clarett is easy to set up–after installing the Focusrite Control app—really just plug and play. I like the ‘Air’ function on the pre-amps that seems to lift and center sounds (I record acoustic guitar mostly).

I found the Focusrite pre-amps not to have as much gain as I wanted, but it was easy to plug in external preamps (an SSL Alpha Channel and a couple Grace Design 101s). I wish the Clarett pre-amps could be defeated with a switch but some web digging revealed that the signal chain goes through them even when they are seen to zero volume.

Ah, well, small thing. I got dropouts when I set the input buffer to 96 samples (1 ms) but that’s ridiculously low latency. I am using it now at 512 samples without issue. Recording at 88khz and 512 samples yields latency of 5.

8 ms. Thunderbolt is really fast. The Clarett can record many more than four channels. It has inputs for 4 XLR channels, 4 line inputs Balanced TRS), and ADAT and SPDIF connections. The digital connections need an external device of course, but I count 16 inputs channels in the config window.

The package of Softube plugins that came with it is a treat. I already had a couple I had paid real money for. TS1 reverb is especially nice. One could want a lot more in their interface, and Universal Audio and other premium companies sell them for thousands.

This unit is hundreds–a huge bargain in comparison.

The only con is the numbering of the digital/analog allocations. It would also be nice to know, as I open the box, that I’d need to have more cabeling than the Thunderbolt cable (eithernet). In big black printing, it should/could state that RedNet2 activation is needed – just call and be walked through the process.

Now. What a great sounding unit full of quality audio options. 20Hz – 35K is awesome & about time.

I use the interface for my guitars into my computer for virtual amping, and also to record. It was working great until I connected the headphone out of a small lunchbox amp (a 6505 Piranha) to the line in on the Focusrite and the interface screeched at me, then lit up like a Christmas tree, and has stayed that way for 2 days.

Reinstalls, removing power, etc, it refuses to register in Device Manager in Win 10. I’m pretty sure its toast, and I don’t know why. The use case is something its already made for. Other than this incident Ive had Focusrite interfaces before and they were great, this is the first one out of three over the last 4 yrs that I’ve had a problem with.

The others were sold/traded to others so I could upgrade to whatever the next one was. Now im at a place where I need more inputs and outputs, so I got the 8I6-up until this incident it was exactly what I needed for the size footprint that I have.

The software routing is a little wonky, and Id like that it had more tactile button control rather than having to use Focusrite control for everything, but overall its a solid unit. I can’t find any situations like mine on the Web, Reddit, etc, so this particular incident sounds to be pretty limited.

I bought this expecting to make good recordings, I record guided meditations, but it makes a lot of noise in all the different modes it has to record with condenser microphone. Now Im looking to try with iOS but usb cable is too expensive.

The price I paid for was certainly low but now is gonna be the same as buying a new one that includes this lightning cable. Ive made all the adjustments can be done and still has lot of noise, shame with a recognized trademark.

Very pleased with this new piece of kit! The sound is crystal clear with great dynamics, full spectrum of sound. Worked perfectly for my mobile filming application, using Filmic Pro on iPad and iPhone, which allows movie recording with any connected sound source, even on the lightning connector, when the inbuilt camera app does not.

To my surprise, it also managed to run a condenser studio mic with only 12. 8v phantom power from the iPad and didn’t appear to impact much on battery life. The MVi also supports full 48v phantom power when connecting it via USB to a PC or Laptop.

Entirely bus powered, it means I can take a decent XLR mic anywhere. Connecting guitars and keyboards to it (albeit in mono) works well. I’m not so convinced about the DSP presets yet, but even ignoring those, it’s still a must-have for anyone wanting to record better quality audio/video on the go, or for singer/songwriters camping in the woods!.

I dont right reviews but the Shure Mvi interface works better with my Shure SM 7B than all the others along with the Cloudlifter. it is a perfect combination for broadcast recording and not add processing.
