14 Best Xbox Series S Monitor (2023 Updated)

I spent literally HOURS researching monitors. Acer, aoc, Asus. Everything I saw led me to the 24G2. It has great picture quality and I haven’t noticed any issues with shadowing or any of the terms that have completely slipped my mind.

This monitor is a higher caliber of tech for a lower price tag and it’s awesome. I was almost ready to check out when I saw this E version for about $30 less. For those who don’t know the only difference is the stand.

The normal 24G2 has the ability to go up and down as well as lock vertically so the entire screen is flipped. That just wasn’t something I needed so it was great to find this one for less $$. It looks sleek and I love the small bevel that gives more screen.

Would definitely buy again.

This replaced my Dell 2716DG, a gsync 144hz 2560x1440p TN monitor. I had always wanted to get an ultrawide, but couldn’t bring myself to spend more than 500 dollars. This monitor was released and had the features I wanted at the price point I wanted.

As with most monitors, the secret sauce is in the settings. I’ve never had a monitor that didn’t look better after some settings tweaks. This monitor has freesync instead of gsync. When I first used gsync in 2016 it became a must have feature.

Then I built a new rig and moved from Windows 7 to 10. Windows sometimes breaks gsync, making the price premium for it no longer part of my purchasing decision. While this monitor isn’t gsync certified you can enable it via the Nvidia control panel.

At first I would get intermittent black screens that would last a few seconds with gsync enabled. Needless to say this was ruining my gaming experience, so I looked for a solution. First I downloaded new drivers from AOC’s website and manually installed them.

Problem persisted. Then I updated the driver on my 1080ti. Problem persisted. I tried using a program to change the freesync range which some people claimed helped. No dice. Finally I found a solution that worked: 1.

Make sure freesync is set to ON in your monitor’s onboard controls 2. Right click on the desktop and go to the Nvidia control panel 3. Set up gsync in “Set Up G-Sync” 4. Select Manage 3D settings. 5.

Change “Monitor Technology” to Fixed Refresh 6. Select the “Program Settings” tab within manage 3D settings 7. Select the game you want to run 8. Change Monitor Technology to G-sync 9. Do this for every game you want to play with G-sync For some reason this works.

No more black screens! My rig is Windows 10, 9900K, 1080ti with latest drivers. Coming from a TN the colors were a bit better, but it wasn’t a life changing experience. Apparently my previous monitor was dialed in pretty good.

The pixel response isn’t as fast as my old TN, but after a few days I don’t notice it anymore. If you aren’t Mr. E-Sports tournament guy it won’t matter. If you are that kind of guy you probably aren’t even looking at this monitor as an option.

Now for the bad. The monitor often needs more brightness. Even with brightness set at 100 I still find myself upping the brightness in game settings. If a game doesn’t have a brightness slider you can use “Picture Boost” in the monitor’s on board settings.

This is a great option. So why put it in the bad section of the review? The monitor doesn’t remember this setting when you turn it off. If you need it for a game you have to reset it every damn time.

AOC needs to update their firmware to fix this. It’s keeping this good monitor from being truly great. Every time I want to play Assault Android Cactus I have to mess with this. Not cool. Beyond the black screen workaround and the picture boost not being saved I’m happy with this monitor.

It was great step up from my 27 inch TN, and now I can never go back to regular sized monitors. Size does matter. It will probably be another four years until a 4K with comparable features is released at a reasonable price.

I won’t be allowed to purchase another monitor until then since my sister in law dimed me out and pointed out to the wife my new toy. That’s the last time she stays with us during her spring break.

*picture shows size comparison next to a 27″ monitor This is my first time purchasing an AOC product. If the quality of this monitor reflects the quality of AOC products, then I am looking forward to purchasing more AOC products.

Obviously, my time with this monitor is short, I just received it a few days ago. But the stand is great compared to many monitors that cost 2x this much. It’s very versatile and very sturdy. I’m a leg shaker and this monitor’s stand does a good job of countering the wobble.

I have been using an MSI VA panel as my main monitor so I’ve become used to dark blacks and this monitor, imo, has just as good of blacks as my VA. I’m very pleased with how good the contrast is. I have 0 dead pixels, 0 backlight bleed, and I cannot see any of that IPS glow.

I’m actually pretty amazed. I REALLY hope nothing goes wrong with this monitor. Again, I’ve never used AOC products before. I don’t know what their longevity and reliability is. If you’re sticking with 1080p and want 144hz IPS @ 24″.

I would say buy this. There is a 27″ version, and I wouldn’t get a 1080p at 27″ but that’s only because my desk is not very deep. If I were to be sitting further away from the monitor, 27″ wouldn’t be so bad and I might have considered it.

Especially since I could watch stuff from my bed easier with the larger screen. Personally I’ve always thought poorly of acer and asus when it comes to monitors. I always read and see how poor their QC is.

The main reason I’ve never purchased their monitors in the recent years. I’ve never had any monitors (that I’ve owned) actually break on me. I’ve owned Dell, LG, and MSI. My parents had an acer and it was just trash.

It broke within a year. They also had a samsung. It also broke within a year. Granted. they were cheaper end models and they have no idea what they’re buying when they’re at “best buy. ” For 165$ I would recommend this panel to everyone I know.

Amazing value for the specs. NOTE: I did have to manually change it to 144hz in my gpu’s control panel. Out of the box it was 60hz. I have overdrive set to strong. AOC 24G2 24″ 1080p 144hz great initial impression.

A large and versatile display that’s optimized for and excels at gaming, and between gaming sessions it serves well for general purpose work. My main gaming hooks are Sports, Adventure, and FPS. To put this display to the test I hooked it up to both a gaming PC and a pair of XBox Consoles – an XBox One S and an XBox Series S – though the display settings and options are equally applicable to both.

Most of the features on the VG279Q1A are nice but fairly standard to ASUS gaming monitors – Low motion blur and response times, high frame rate capability up to 165Hz for this model, and visual enhancements like Shadow Boost, FPS counters, and a selection of OSD crosshair overlays.

Standout features to me on this particular model are the Timers and FPS Histogram mode for gaining a short but helpful visual history of recent FPS peaks and lows. Gaming on this didn’t blow me away, but it was a definite upgrade from the 21” non-gaming display I had been using recently.

The display is 165Hz capable but you’ll only get that if your video card is capable of it AND if you’re using DisplayPort. Via HDMI you’ll find yourself capped to 144Hz which is still respectable, just keep in mind that if you’re a performance junkie (and what gamer isn’t) you’ll want to use DisplayPort if at all possible.

Also, know that for modern gaming consoles it appears to be capped at 120Hz, the specs mentions PS5 and XBoix though though I was only able to test it with the pair of previously mentioned XBox systems and they both were recognized for and worked great at 120Hz The display supports 2xHDMI 1.

4 and 1xDisplayPort 1. 2 connection, and is both AMD and NVIDIA sync friendly, Freesync and Adaptive-Sync respectively. The VG279Q1A doesn’t have speakers of its own but it does have a 3. 5mm audio port which proved handy for consolidating the various inputs to headphones or for passing the audio for the active input on to a soundbar/speaker system.

When not gaming the VG279Q1A looks quite nice for regular app and browser usage, like previous ASUS gaming monitors I personally found the FPS mode gave a balanced “not too warm not too cold” colorscape for to my liking that, frankly, I found myself using in almost all cases if only because I think it honestly just looked the best.

I’m happy if not blown away by this display. It’s a good-sized, solid performer, for a reasonable price. I have previous ASUS gaming computers and displays that are well built and continue to last so I expect the VG279Q1A to serve our main gaming-den needs for quite some time.

As a self confessed computer nerd bird I have always been fascinated with computer graphics and in that vein, by default, that extends to what you are playing on. I’ve always considered ASUS a top brand in my book, up there with Corsair and EVGA.

There is a reason for that, cutting edge tech backed with superb support and industry wide acceptance and support in each and every project. This monitor, although my first ASUS, is not my first ASUS product, of which there are many.

I tend to either get EVGA or ASUS for my graphic cards and so it would stand to reason that getting one for my monitor is not beyond the pale. This monitor is easy to setup, completely tool less and fast, we are talking only maybe 5 mintues in total.

Now once it’s setup and you head to the actual use part, well things only continue to do quite well and that is to be expected, I think, considering the brand. I fired this up with my second PC in order to try it out and that consisted of a lot of games.

The actual setup of the issue is made easier with the fact that I also, coincidentally have an ASUS Gefoce RTX 3070 Tuf video card, which is ideal considering this is same manufacturer and same line.

But really this monitor is going to work for anyone so perhaps not a big deal but rather a timely coincidence. Now how does it function? Well amazing! It plays everything out of the box, no adjustments, pretty well.

I’m not a professional when it comes to color calibration and such but it looks really good to me and it does give you several options to choose from (I believe I chose VIVID) and of course those with an eye for this can go ahead and customize it the way that they see fit.

Windows 11 recognized it right away and installed the drivers for it and I was able to change the overclock for Hz to maximum in the Nvidia Control Panel without any issue. Games run flawless, Windows looks amazing, the actual joystick control given is also something you usually only see on high end monitors so I am very impressed with this monitor and will be using it on my second PC that my wife uses to game on.

Over the years I’ve basically run the gamut of monitors from the cheapest to some of the most expensive, large, small, TVs as monitors and everything in between. There’s a lot to be said about having a high performing monitor, though this is a place where a lot of people choose to save a few bucks in favor of another part of their PC.

The strange thing about that is that the monitor is basically the window (no pun intended) into the capability of that PC. If you’re gaming and you spent a lot on your processor and graphics, you wont ever really utilize that performance to its fullest without a monitor that can really utilize it.

/soapbox This monitor does all of that and more, and it does it in a thoughtful manner. The packaging is much the same as any monitor, it’s clamshelled inside some foam inside a carboard box, ok nothing special there.

However as soon as you remove it from the box it already starts to show where it stands out. This monitor has both HDMI and DP inputs and it comes with one of each cable. In my experience this is rare, if a monitor comes with any cables it’s usually only one and you basically dont get to choose.

Having both options readily available, especially with the prevalence of both interfaces on many high end graphics cards makes this a win already in my book. The arm and stand are unique solely in their look, though the arm has a hole through the middle to help with cable management which is a nice touch, and common among many monitors these days.

Connecting it is much like any other monitor, plug it in, turn it on and it basically works. With the option of one of two HDMI ports or a single display port you can plug in either or multiple as you wish depending on your needs.

The HDMI ports are v1. 4 which can support up to 144hz on this display, while the DP interface v1. 2 supports up to the full 165hz. While the monitor doesnt support 4k, it would have been nice to see the HDMI 2.

0 spec on the HDMI ports so that it could run the full 165hz on those, but I can understand that there isn’t any real need for it. When connected, Windows recognized the ability of the monitor and I was easily able to select the appropriate refresh rate.

In gaming, what can I say. it’s beautiful. AC Valhalla is silky smooth when powered by an RTX 3090 at 165hz. I routinely play WoW and while this monitor is overkill for that scenario, I can say there’s definitely no issues with something like that.

All in all, it’s a really well made and gorgeous monitor. I’d readily recommend this to anyone.

I will say that I am not a huge expert with monitors, and consider myself pretty casual gamer, so take that into account with any possible errors I mention bellow. The monitor was in great condition, just like new from what I could tell.

I use it for my work as well as for gaming on my Xbox series X. The HDMI 2. 0 should be capable of running 1440p around 120 hz, maybe a little less frames, but I have yet to have a game that does 120 hz at 1440p HDMI 2.

60 hz looks very smooth for me and it upscales to 4k and looks amazing when HDR is turned on. Only complaint is I wish I could adjust the brightness when in HDR, because it can be a little to bright when in a dark area.

In the modes other than HDR, the monitor is kinda dim and colors aren’t as nice so I always keep it in HDR mode and have no issues. On my Xbox, I turned on 10 bit HDR, and also the 2:4:2 setting. I honestly have no idea what that means but it made it work with upscaking to 4k.

I noticed that 120 hz mode at 1440p worked only in the main menu of my Xbox and turned to 60 once I loaded my games (halo infinite, MCC, Rocket League, etc). The monitor does do variable refresh rate, so it sometimes goes down to like 50 hz for less than a second to help with tearing (thi deals more with the Xboxs power, but just mentioning it’s nice to have a variable refresh rate)The speakers aren’t bad at all for casual use either which was a supprise.

This is the cheapest monitor I could find with 1440p and 144hz, and it came well packaged. My friend who uses a 1080p monitor loved how it looked and thought I paid $350 dollars for it, so I’d say the $215 price tag is a good deal for the end of 2021.

I’d say if you’re a new console gamer, HDMI 2. 1 might be better if you really want that 120 hz, but if not, Acer did a good job here. Who knows though, maybe Microsoft updates some games or whatever is needed to get the 120hz working with HDMI 2.

Dead on arrival!! This is on Acer not really Bestbuy (unless Bestbuy scammed me with a used item) since someone obviously didn’t test or inspect this product! All of the buttons including the power button are broken and sunken/pressed into the back of the monitor and you can’t even turn it on! The back has NO cracks or missing sections so the internal structure is obviously not assembled properly and nothing to do with shipping or being damaged from the outside, this happened from the manufacture process at Acer.

Not a single one of the buttons work and couldn’t test it at all. REALLY DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED! I took a lot of time shopping for a monitor, purchased it and drove down to Bestbuy- took down my own monitor – unpacked this “new” monitor and assembled it, and now I have to spend more time packing this monitor, reassembling my old monitor, take another day to drive back to Bestbuy and return or exchange this monitor!! Probably will exchange unless I find a very similar priced one, but will NEVER buy from Acer again and I’m sure they will not do a single thing to make this right unfortuantly.

*Buyer beware if purchasing this model/manufacture. Would love to have them do something besides a opps we are sorry etc, when this takes up a lot of your customers time and money, and trust. Again VERY FRUSTRATED AND DISAPPOINTED with this whole process/product!!!.

Great Monitor. Fine print, you need a card higher than 980ti to run gsync. Am able to run Valorant at above 240 frames. I had a 144 hz monitor, notice a slight difference in clarity. IPS views nicely at different angles.

Cons: no instructions in the box on how to adjust the setting. had to dl a pdf and read it off my phone

The Zowie XL2746S is the best gaming monitor you can buy I really love this monitor and the shipping was super fast.

Having been fortunate enough to own a PS5 on launch day and now an Xbox Series X for about a week or so I can confidently say that I do not regret my purchase. Admittedly at first I was cautious, however considering Microsoft’s recent acquisition of multiple award winning game studios I decided to future-proof my gaming.

At first I was a little underwhelmed by the lack of Xbox exclusive titles, after all I’d come from the likes of Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Ratchet and Clank: Rift apart. However, I can say those worries have quickly been put to rest by the extensive catalogue of games available on Game Pass, the native upscaling of older games has also been a treat and seeing some of my favorite old games come to life in the way that Banjo Kazooie or Fable have is both nostalgic and refreshing.

If that wasn’t enough the guarantee of games from studios like XGS and now Bethesda studio on release day makes Game Pass a no-brainer in my opinion. All this and we haven’t even discussed quick resume yet, I cannot stress enough just how unbelievably convenient this little feature is and I’ve come from being blown away by its sheer speed to almost expecting it- sure the PS5 has incredible loading speeds but the ability to completely bypass all loading screens and instantly pick up from where you left off is something that cannot be beaten.

This becomes especially apparent when switching from a single player game to multiplayer games with friends and doing it on the fly feels so, so good. I’ve come from being on the fence about Microsoft’s latest and greatest to finding myself just naturally turning towards it whenever I’m gaming, the sheer variety of games available on Game Pass coupled with the practicality of quick resume has meant that I find less and less reason to pick up my dual sense controller.

Don’t get me wrong, when it comes to first party exclusives I still believe PlayStation truly have something magical and I’m super excited for the release of games like God Of War: Ragnarok, SpiderMan 2 and Forspoken however that’s just it I find that other than first party exclusives I have no real compelling reason to play the Ps5, after all why purchase a triple AAA third party title for £50 when I can potentially experience it for free on release day for £10 a month on Game Pass? I’m not here to convince you that one is better than the other after all they both satisfy different needs for me, I love them both and look forward to seeing what the future holds for the next gen of consoles.

I’ve had enough of waiting on Sony to release the PS5. I’ve heard from a number of people including someone who works for Sony in the PS distribution teams, that Sony is hoarding PS5s in it’s warehouses to drive up scarcity & in doing so, causing people to panic buy their console like it will never come.

From the mid 1990s I’ve got the original Play-station, PS2 (both versions) PS3 (Both versions) & a PS4 (standard late 1TB edition) & all are in full working order so you might be thinking why have I switched.

I’m a long time PS gamer & never had time for Xbox as it seemed too much like a PC which I already had. I talked with some people who already have a PS5 & an Xbox series X or S console. All of them(including two who own 2 tech stores)had more favourable reviews of the Xbox over the PS5 from the Xbox easy ability to switch through games & apps & quick resume to it’s hardware which is superior to the PS5 plus a lot of titles on PS are on Xbox.

I decided rather than wait for Sony to make more consoles available, to buy the Xbox series x with the game pass. I’ve not been disappointed. It’s quicker than the PS5 I tested, it works with my TV by providing Dolby ATMOS & Vision(Dolby app on Xbox store + a compatible TV are required)for games & movies from the apps so these look and sound amazing.

I found the PS4 & 5 worked against me a bit with HDMI settings. The Xbox is quiet (remember the jet taking off inside your PS4) with only one light on the front of the console & on the controller. It can be place upright or on it’s side and while it is a bit heavy & larger than the Xbox one, it trumps the PS5 for ease of handling & size.

The controller is easy to use and with games I was already familiar with, it was easy to pick up & I’m playing games I never would have bothered with on PS5. The build quality of the console and controllers has a premium feel plus there is no bulky transformer for the power supply (standard 2 PIN connecter to 3 pin plug) with this console which I know from friends with previous Xbox consoles that this was an annoyance.

You also get a HDMI cable that is around 2 metres long included in the box so long enough to reach from the console to the TV. The PS3 nor 4 had a HDMI cable that long. Check the full specs on the Xbox website for more info on the console.

The all access package gives 24 months access to the Xbox/Microsoft store with 100 free game titles each month plus discounts on others. Sure Sony only charges £50 per year but only offers between 1 – 3 free games per month with discounts on others.

The Xbox series x is not perfect however. Several issues that frustrate my with Xbox console are that it’s controllers don’t come with a rechargeable battery out of the box. Fair that these are sold at reasonable prices separately so when battery degradation kicks in, these are easily replaced unlike PS wireless controllers which need to be replaced completely unless you have the knowhow to change the battery but it would be nice to have a rechargeable battery pack included with the Xbox initial setup or a discount voucher for a battery pack.

In some games, the A button takes a second or two to respond which can be critically fatal in some game situations. The console can’t be shut down completely unless you go into the settings and select the option.

Otherwise it’s in a shutdown but standby mode drinking expensive electricity like it’s going out of fashion! The Xbox has been a real eyeopener for me as a gamer and while I didn’t like the previous generations, I do like this one.

I’ll miss some titles like the Uncharted series but aside from this, it’s still a worthwhile change for me. Sony are going to lose users & customers to Xbox but then they always seem to have issues with the odd numbered consoles.

Who remembers all the issues with their launch of the PS3 (Seeing one smashed to bits with a sledge hammer was surreal) or the burned out consoles from playing L. A. Noire which neither Sony or Rockstar would take responsibility for.

My brother who currently has our PS & PS2 console is going over to Xbox now. He’s tired of waiting for Sony and after testing a PS5 of a friend(who’s reaction to the PS5 was meh) plus reading several reviews, is not that impressed with the PS5 either.

To keep it brief, this console is amazing. The last Xbox I had was the 360. I’ve always been a Playstation consumer, but the Xbox Series X has me really excited for Microsoft’s future. I currently own the PS5 and it’s a great console no doubt, but I feel as if the Xbox console itself is more premium in quality.

The PS5 has a more premium controller while the Series X has a more premium console. I’m not really into the whole “Playstation is better” or “Xbox is better” debate. They are both awesome consoles but since getting the Series X, I have been enjoying it more than my PS5.

Game Pass was a new concept for me. I know people who currently have Xbox One’s have had Game Pass for a while, but it was amazing for me given I haven’t had an Xbox since the 360. I can confidently say that Xbox is doing an amazing job with Game Pass.

It is far better than Playstation Plus and the Playstation Plus premium package deals. Makes the Xbox actually feel like a gaming console rather than a pay a lot to play. One dollar for the first month of Game Pass, and then it’s $15 a month to continue the subscription.

I just canceled my Netflix and can say I’ve used Game Pass more than Netflix and I actually don’t have all the time in the world to play games either. The insides of this console are incredible. I watched a teardown of both the Series X and the PS5.

The Series X is much more impressive with the parts and pieces that are actually pretty pricey parts and it amazes me that they managed to keep the price at $500 still. If you’re asking yourself, do I get a PS5 or a Series X.

I would of course say get both, but given that Sony has been increasing the price of the PS5 and it is not as easy to come by, I would say get the Series X and don’t stress about the PS5 right now. The Series X is much easier to get, the design of it in my opinion despite it being very minimalist, is actually nicer than the PS5 and it’s a little smaller than it too, and you can finally enjoy next gen gaming without having scavenge for a PS5.

Game Pass is great to have as well and with it you can play basically every new game, and has titles that start from the original Xbox all the way to Xbox One/Series XS. Also if you’re like me and have a few Original Xbox games and Xbox 360 games, you can actually play them on your Series X because Microsoft actually made their console backwards compatible.

If you’ve been more of a Playstation person I feel your hesitation, but this console is actually worth it. Not hating on Sony but I wish they had made their consoles backwards compatible like the Series X.

But yeah if you’re wanting to play next gen games, get the Series X and get the PS5 later when they come out with a Slim or Pro model. Overall I didn’t expect to like it this much.

For HDR content, it looks great, it get pretty close to a OLED display in-term of contrast and display vibrant colors. There will be noticeable blooming especially when there are white small dot in a black background, i.

e. a mouse pointer, but that rarely happened in a normal HDR content, I say unless you’re purposefully trying to make it happen. However OLED like the new Alienware QD-OLED will still beat this monitor in term of HDR.

For SDR content, you will have to spend some time calibrating the display to get the natural color, all the preset look absolutely terrible. I bought this monitor when it on sale for $1099, at this price it’s an amazing value when you compare to the ASUS one at $2999 with similar technology.

However, at MSRP, it is the same price at the Alienware QD-OLED one, and I would definitely go for the Alienware one if it’s in-stock. The upside of the monitor is pretty much that it is in-stock most of the time and at a higher resolution and burn-in it not an issue compare to Alienware, however newer OLED technology pretty made burn-in a thing of the past.

I’d recommended this monitor over the Alienware when it’s on sale and you just don’t want a Ultra Wide form factor.

I like the specs which are unmatched but have several cons/suggestions: – I have DP 1. 4 and HDMI 2. 1 sources connected to it and it won’t wake up to another source when went to sleep on one of them.

Power saving and Eco off. Have to manually wake up and select the source. – There is no way to enable auto game mode and have crosshair displayed without manually enabling it. – The wobbliest stand in the industry.

Such a letdown for a premium product. I don’t believe anyone actually tested it and approved, I wouldn’t. If you can’t engineer anything better, copy what Acer Predator has – that one is what the stand should be, even has a handy carrying loop.

– Cable management is non-existent – I would rather prefer it to be flat. Less hassle with ambient lights etc. BTW Core light is a joke, makes no difference at all. Just remove it and lower the price.

Overall I’m satisfied and will definitely keep it, but hope Samsung will address the software issues with a new update. Please don’t procrastinate!.

It’s is great for gaming and viewing movies, however there are some down falls if your not using it for PC gaming some features are not available, I game on a ps5 and it’s somewhat of a hassle to change the picture mode from rpg games to fps games.

The. If you want to stream movies and videos you would have to go through the struggle of turning certain features off just to change the picture settings to cinema. However the 2k picture is great, and most movies and games visually are appealing.

There are somethings that are lacking for instance the ps5 has recently put out the an update to help decrease the input lag depending on the the monitor it self even thou it’s at 120hrz it’s unfortunately not compatible with the ps5s update to lessen the input lag.

Overall my experience with the product is great and I’ve enjoyed oled screen hopefully this review will help me and knock off 200 for the next samsung monitor specifically the odessy 9. That beast of a monitor would be a true gaming experience.

There is a lot I can say in regards to this monitor, personally for me though, I am surprised at how this monitor is ready to go straight out of the box, minimal calibration to be had. WQHD is definitely a huge improvement over other products in the same category, I have an LG and that monitor pales in comparison to this ASUS Strix.

Gotta say, the fact that this is a Gundam Licensed product makes it much sweeter of a deal. I highly recommend, running in conjunction with an Intel i7-9700k/ 2070 Super. Do yourself a favor and pick this bad boy up!.

This is the first ROG gaming monitor comes with white finish. This monitor stands out with the gundam theme colour. Two areas I personally think could make it better are stand lighting effect and the resolution.

If Asus could make the lighting comes from the stand as a RX-78-2 icon or the E. F. S. F logo it would be fantastic. 2K 170hz is still good, but I wish it could be 4K 144hz.

I’ve used this monitor for about 3 weeks now and have loved every minute of it. Games are smoother and more clearer, coming from a 32inch curved 1080p monitor, this has vastly outperformed & improved my gaming experience.

Highly recommend & it’s Gundam like c’mon!.

1) This monitor has is a built in hub. but this is not a KVM (unlike the more expensive versions), – if you want everything from the 3x USB ports connected via 1x USB-C, AND charge your laptop at the same time — this is the monitor.

– if you want to switch between desktop and laptop using the same keyboard/mouse plugged into the monitor USB etc. this is not THAT monitor. 2) It supports VESA mounting and at 7kgs is lighter than most of its peers.

3) Uses well thought out navigation, a 4 directional and press-button (under Samsung logo) for changing input and settings – much easier to find and navigate. 4) It is a dimmer monitor with the familiar standard colour spectrum but has excellent viewing from all angles.

5) USB-C to USB-C and HDMI cables are included 6) It also allows downgrade of input e. g. HDMI 2. 0 and 1. 4 and DisplayPort 1. 2 or 1. 1 7) “Gaming” mode adds contrast/brightness, but all the regular adjustments and gamma are there too.

8) I have noticed significant improvement in gaming performance (even though I am mixing Nvidia and FreeSync) 9) There is a quick 3 second timeout for when sources stop or disconnect (can be annoying).

I am now on my second iteration of this monitor. The first one got sent back since it not only had like 8-10 dead pixels, but also DIRT under the screen which moved when you tapped on it. I today got a replacement and guess what? This one also has a dead pixel.

It seems like Samsung’s QA testing really has fallen. I’m somewhere between wanting to return the monitor, but I also need one for work. At this point in time, I’d recommend try other monitors until Samsung fixes their manufacturing quality.

Also, for some reason these monitors also come with plastic foam stuck in its borders (at least for me).

Quality screen; great brightness and colour. Very handy having the USB ports etc. built in as it cuts down on cables to your laptop/PC (only a single USB-c cable required for display, charging, and connectivity to the USB devices).

The screen curvature takes a little getting used to after having dual monitors, but once you get used to it (only a week or so of use), it’s far superior to having two separate monitors.

I bought this to add to my set up with a laptop. I use it as my main screen and mostly game with it. No complaints, it works great and the adjustable settings are super nice. To make the screen vertical you can only turn the screen one way, which might be annoying but it didn’t bother me.

Also the box only comes with a display port cord, so if you plan on using HDMI get a cable yourself.

Pros: Everything is great what else can i say Cons: The stand is a little too big but overall its fine

Overall, I’m quite happy with this monitor. It was super easy to setup out of box and looks sleek. Good port selection and a decent quality panel (for being a VA). Colors pop and overall response with gaming is excellent.

Have had a couple of instances where there was a capacitor whine in the power supply, but attributed that to my laptop either updating the graphics driver or doing something else. Outside of those two instances, I haven’t had a problem with it.

The only thing that I’ve had an issue with is that text is slightly choppy out of box. ClearType cleared up the issue a bit after calibration, but it’s still there. Not horrible, but noticeable. Outside of the text (which could just be the VA panel itself), I have no complaints and would recommend this monitor to others.

I had to return this monitor the first time I got it. A couple weeks into use a big blue splotch started appearing in the bottom center of the screen and continued to spread. I have a feeling it was backlight bleeding through the intersection between two LCD panels.

Luckily, Newegg makes the return process rather painless instead of having to go through Aopen (I can’t speak to their customer service). Anyway, I bought this same monitor again and haven’t had any issues since.

At this price point, I’m OK with having to return it once.

This is a great looking monitor, and has fantastic looking video. The outside bezel and back along with stand, are a gloss black finish which looks really cool. There is no horizontal adjustment, but you can just change the orientation by moving the stand manually-the vertical adjustment works fine without issue.

Bear in mind this monitor has no built in speakers, but does have an audio out jack to either plug in your own speakers or run headphones. The 3 different video connections (DVI-D/DP/HDMI) are nice for compatibility.

Overall the monitor is pretty amazing, the pitrue quality is nice and crisp. It runs really smoothly at 120hz. Im using it on my Xbox series X. The speaker quality does lack a bit, its not very loud at all.

So if youre trying to watch a movie or something i would suggest getting speakers instead. The joy stick toggle to control the monitor is a little bit annoying but youll get use to it. Ill give you an updated verison down the road.

I bought it on sale for $269. 99 so make sure you wait the sale and itll be worth it.

I was looking for a 1440p monitor to pair with my PS5 and decided on this one after reading its specs. Colors look great and stand is easy to adjust. The 32-inch curved screen feels immersive. I will definitely be using this for work & multitasking as well.

Lots of bang for buck.

If you’re into 1080p gaming, this monitor is great! It’s NVIDIA G-Sync compatible, it has very low latency, and you can overclock the vertical refresh all the way to 240Hz! The best part is the price.

Firstly This monitor is packed well. My monitor shipped from Cali and I live in Ohio. No dents or marks on the box and no dead pixel. Guaranteed. Bought from Newegg. Needs a couple tweaks but is for the most part a really nice monitor for the price.

You may need to install a better driver to run more in depth pixel tests and to get more precise results, but after the optimization (even using base menu right out of the box) you will be pleased. Easily pushes 144Hz after tweaks on games that allow this.

Overall a solid B+ quality monitor and definitely recommend at the price point.

– Good budget monitor with the necessary features. It comes down to, “you get what you pay for. ” – I wasn’t expecting this to be as good as the $300+ monitors and I am very satisfied for the price compared to how often I get to sit down and play games.

This monitor holds up well enough for my gaming and business needs. If you are very set on a vigorous gaming lifestyle, I recommend forking out some more dough, but for the light gamer this will do. -As far as the RMA process: this was my first ever RMA and it went by a lot smoother than I had anticipated.

The first monitor was a bust, but as soon as I started the RMA process I received my new monitor within a week, which feels like a fairly decent turn-around.

The the color quality of the screen is excellent, and while I wasn’t expecting to be able to afford a curved screen this one was a very reasonable price and looks and performs very well. I have no dead pixels, and my screen came in excellent condition.

Quality on FPS and other graphics-intensive games looks amazing on the monitor. Setup was easy. I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a less expensive gaming setup with high refresh rate and excellent color and pixel count.
