20 Best Xbox One Controller Charger (2023 Updated)

It arrived in good condition and seems built well. I like the push down/up feature that allows you to disconnect the charger as soon as the light turns green, that way you know that the batteries won’t overcharge or become hot and a fire hazard.

I was happy to see that it came with two rechargeable batteries and the battery covers. I doubt that the charger would charge any other brand of batteries, as the charging points are located in a different place than my other rechargeable batteries.

I’m happier with it than the last charger I bought that just plugged into the battery itself. I would definitely recommend it and will likely buy another one if it lasts a fair amount of time. The storage stand is a nice place to keep the Xbox Controllers from getting knocked around too!.

batteries last like 5 days on one charge. better than regular batteries that are expensive in the long run for games videos, ecc. With this PANDEMIC going on Allot of us are in lock down. My system is on close to 14 hours a day.

Everything has to be delivered. rechargable batteries are best in my opinion for cheaper in the long run.

I like the design of this charging station. However, it does have flaws. It over heats almost every time I charge a battery. It charges normally for a while, then it starts blinking red. I finally realized after a few times, the batteries were getting hot.

If I let them cool down for about an hour, it will charge to “full” and turn the light green. I’ve also noticed, it actually never charges to full. It only charges to about 80% it seems. I can get about 8 hours of gaming out of it so not too bad.

I got these Xbox one charging packs to review and I will tell you they are amazing. When I first recieved them I out it straight on the nice very long charging cord it came with and charged all the way up in I would say 3 hours.

As well as lasted my husband about 22 hours of game time I’ve course of 3 days. We’re not used to that bout 10 hours and time to put in other one. Didn’t have to do that he was highly impressed as well as i.

Also love the orange color not your typical black which I enjoy look cool. Also with these packs you have to use the battery covers with them not the ones that came with the controller which is what you normally have to do cause stick up a little bit out battery area of the controller.

The cord it’s very long so also has option to charge while playing long cords can be hard to find. All around I’m happy with it works better then I could have ever expected in so glad was able to review this certainly enjoyed it.

So I got an amazing deal on this. Was on sale for 9. 00 and then they go to right it up and it’s only 4. 00?!? The battery life is about on part with a cheap Double a bit you get two battery packs so you can charge one while you used the other one which makes for steam less play.

Also charging cord is crazy long and you can plug into controller to charge battery while you are playing. I highley recommend!.

If you have a XBOX One controller this is the battery to buy. I tried the less expensive non-Microsoft batteries. They were not lithium oxide and didn’t hold a charge and they did not make use of the two-color led built into the charge cable that shows the charging/charged battery status.

A must-have for anyone who uses an Xbox one controller and does not want to burn through AA batteries at an alarming rate. Well designed, fits nicely, and has good battery life. My only minor frustration: you can only charge the battery while its in the controller, and unfortunately the controller will only accept a charge via either an Xbox one or a PC.

The controller will light up when connected to a wall outlet, but the battery will not actually fill up with juice – this only happens when plugged into a PC or console. Even a USB expansion hub connected to a PC will not charge the controller.

It must be directly connected. This quibble aside, its a great product.

Solid product. Had a couple of Venom batteries, which were very disappointing. Only had these official ones for a week or so, but it already feels like they’re much better, in every way. For the price I would certainly recommend it.

This item worked really good for about 2 weeks then all of a sudden stopped working. Seems like it is made from really cheap material but then again it was very cheap in price. I think I paid $10-$15 for it.

Very nice for the price…under $20 and it comes with a rechargable battery back and back cover! This is a must have for xbox gamers.

You get what you pay for here. We’ve had these for about 18 months, and the charging cable no longer fits in the battery pack correctly. Prior to this, they charged and worked fine. Our house has a plethora of chargeable devices, but I have never had a port go bad this quickly.

The cover is a bit snug with our One controllers, but it works. The playtime was also fine with our kids limited daily play. Anyway, if you are looking for longevity, this is not it. If you only want something low priced, go for it, but know you will likely spend more and waste more in the long run by needing replacements.

My Xbox One controller gets used a lot, and I went with rechargeable batteries some time ago. As always, rechargeable batteries will never last as long as alkaline, but I can’t keep wasting batteries on a device I use so much.

This battery fits in perfectly once you get it in, and can be recharged using a micro-usb port on top of the controller. It’s much more handy to just plug in a power cord, rather than removing batteries and charging them, then putting them back in.

It lasts about as long as a set of good rechargeables, in my case a definite 10-12 hours before I have to charge it again. Not bad for the price.

I bought this,as the genuine microsoft item was not in stock anywhere for my second controller(series x). I have the genuine microsoft play and charge kit for my first controller but this item is better quality and much better value.

Great quality long charging cord, 4x black battery covers two are gloss to match xbox one controller and two are matt finish to match series x controller. The advantage of charging the second battery when it isn’t installed in the controller is so convenient for non stop gaming and the charging indicator light is great something the genuine series x charge kit doesn’t have.

After having my Xbox Series X for about 1 year, and dealing with AA batteries in the controller (and the universal waste disposal), I decided it was time to make the switch to a rechargeable battery system.

After doing some online research and checking out video reviews, I decided to go with the PowerA Dual Charging Station. At the time of purchase, there were two different options from PowerA and decided to go with the newer model as it was only $5 more ($29.

99 vs. $24. 99). (As of the time of this review, the previous model is no longer for sale through Best Buy. ) Pros: – I really like the visual design of the new charging station compared to the outgoing model.

Having both controllers facing in the same direction shows off both controllers nicely. – The LED indicator lights are very clear to understand. Orange lights mean that the controllers are actively charging, and white lights mean that charging is complete.

The left LED corresponds to the front position and right LED corresponds to the back position. – Total charge time seems solid so far in the month of use. I mostly play single-player games, so I simply switch between my 2 controllers when the battery depletes in one of the them.

Will be interesting to see how long charge life lasts over time before having to replace the batteries. – Though I don’t have an Xbox One, I appreciate the fact that PowerA includes a set of battery covers for both older and newer consoles.

Cons: – Just a minor nitpick, but the battery covers do not have a snug fit onto the controllers, in comparison to the OEM Xbox covers that have a very solid fit. The PowerA covers do shift slightly back and forward when placing my fingers onto the covers, and make a slight clicking sound.

Not sure how much variation there is from system to system. It would be awesome if PowerA could tighten the manufacturing tolerances a bit to give a more solid engagement and have a more OEM feel. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and glad that I don’t have to deal with swapping alkaline batteries anymore.

These batteries are ment for competitive gamers. I an a diamond in R6 Siege, and these make a difference. They stay charged for roughly 6-12hrs depending on vibration, and you can swap batteries within.

2 seconds and have power again within 1. 5. The speer reload, and Alkaline durration make these the best for competitive gammers. I have had mine for the past 2 years and just lost one, so im ordering more.

The one i have left still works for 6hours! Wont be able to finde a more reliable set of battery packs.

Good price. But dont last super long and take abkut 4-5 hours to charge. I use bith batteries for just one contoller. Keeping the second one sold with this charged and ready for when the first one go low.

Also good to not buy batteries anymore.

I first purchased an official Xbox charger and knew straight away it was only going to last 5minutes because of the placement of the cord (you can’t put you controller down). Sure enough ruined in no time.

This is a much much better design. The cord is out of the way and you can put the controller down without putting undue stress on the cord and socket in the battery. Good design.

Very sleek design and smooth finish, the controller fits perfectly on the dock with no fidgeting or adjusting needed. A little pricey, but I’ve used other cheaper controller charging docks and many of them require you to reposition/adjust the controller for it to charge properly.

There’s nothing more frustrating while gaming than to run out of battery at critical times. I think the play and charge should be considered an essential component to any Xbox console, as it offers significant value and quality of life improvements to one’s experience.

The LED indicator on the cord helps to ensure that you know when it’s working, and these are some of the longest lasting controller batteries I’ve used. Additionally, I like how Microsoft stands behind their products.

I’ve purchased this set a few times now and on the rare occasion that there’s an issue, their customer service has always taken the time to ensure I get assistance in a timely and professional manner.

The battery seems to be fine, though I haven’t really used it that much. It seems like it holds a really good charge and lasts ages. The cord on the other hand is pretty bad (at least the one I recieved).

After a month and a half it no longer works. It has that problem you get if you constantly wrap the cord tightly around a controller and it then only works if you hold the cord in weird positions, which I learned not to do over a decade ago so it’s not something I caused.

Contacted mighty ape about it at the beginning of the week and still haven’t got a reply, which is a shame as a long time customer. Luckily the xbox one controller works with almost any usb cord or I would be much more annoyed.

After using my Xbox one controller for nearly a year with normal batteries I got tired of having to change them and got a cheap 3rd party set of rechargeables, which didn’t last very long becore needing to charge.

I decided to get the real thing finally and it was very well worth the money, especially in this deal! The rechargeable batteries last multiple days with moderate game playing and can actually be charged while using the thing still (though if you’re using the controller via Bluetooth on windows like me, using the pc to charge the controller will desync the Bluetooth so I reccomend using a phone charging brick instead).

The charge base is pretty basic, it’s plastic very light weight. It charges quick. Haven’t tested how long the charge last but it’s more than long enough to game all night. It comes with 2 battery packs, I only have 1 controller as of right now so trying to charge the other battery pack can’t happen unless you use a rubber band like i did so the battery pack doesn’t slip away from the connectors and seems to be working for me.

Changing of the battery packs is pretty simple, just make sure your fingers or thumbs aren’t greasy. The charge base cord is a mirco usb to the charger and the other end is a usb. So can plug into anything that has a usb jack.

I used a old cell phone plug.

So far it has exceeded my expectations for the charger. It fit both my Xbox controller no need to keep opening and replacing batteries. Just drop the controllers on charger bay and it will charge with blinking lights and solid light when fully charged.

So far a full charge lasts for 3-4 hours at least.

This keeps my sons controllers charged. No issues so far. This is actually my 2nd purchase because my son broke the first one, which we had for years.

Sometimes hard to line up with the batteries, I wish it could hold the more modern controllers. And I guess it is charging but light does not stay lite for long.

Wasnt expecting much but I was blown away looks just like the ad say works great love the led light not to bright to where you can sleep and not see a big red light charging Thats taking over your ceiling.

I bought this for my boys for Christmas because they use up so many batteries. I was skeptical about it but weve had them charge their controllers on this and it is AWESOME! My boys say that their controllers stay charged for hours.

If one boy plays the other one leaves their controllers charging. They also set them to charge over night. The only thing is that you have to wiggle it around to sit just right on the charger otherwise it wont connect/charge.

The light on the base comes on and lets me know its charging (red for charging/green for ready). So far we have not needed batteries. Im hoping this charger lasts a long time. I would definitely recommend this device.

Great charging dock. I’ve been buying batteries non stop for two years. I must of assumed the charging docks were expensive (as anything Xbox is). Finally looked into one and this gem was priced at $30.

Comes with two rechargeable batteries; two lights on the dock: red indicates needs charging, green means fully charged. Also holds the remotes while not in use. You won’t be disappointed with this purchase.

Controllers will not synchronize with xbox most days as well as batteries failing to hold a charge for even 30 minutes. Charging dock loses power eventually and stops lighting up in red to signal its being charged but will give it a minimal charge.

Overall a bad product but i was tolerable for the first few weeks up until it all just started breaking down altogether.

Bought this for my daughter’s Xbox One wireless controller. Even fully charged they did not last more than a day. We’ve had them for 1 month and now they will not hold a charge at all. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Gets the job done. Simple and functions fine, but looks and feels very cheap. Lower grade quality. I purchased a different unit altogether only for aesthetic purposes.

Definitely not high end too of the line. But I knew that when I bought it, the actual product exceeded my expectation.

The stand and storage idea for this is good, no real issues there, but the batteries are bespoke to the stand and are very poor, on full charge only lasted an hour or so. Pretty pointless if you have to dock both gamepads in the chargers every 60 minutes.

Sent back and performance not adequate.

Brought this for a birthday present. Unfortunately one of the batteries didn’t work. I’m currently in contact with the seller fingers crossed they replace the faulty battery. Other than that a great item perfect for what I wanted.

My kids like it a lot. They said it’s awesome. Has 12 slots to hold games. The built in fan is great. Easy to set up. Solid bit of kit. Just charge the batteries and you are ready to game.

This is an amazing charger. It charges my controllers fast and reliably. My previous charging dock was awful… I had to keep adjusting the controllers over and over to get a solid charge. That problem is nonexistent now! I’m only giving 4 stars because none of the plastic backings fit on my older Xbox one controller (from around 2015) but it does fit my newer controller that I purchased last year.

Basically I just have to charge it without a backing and once it’s done I put the original one that fits back on.

This charger works great! I bought this charger ahead of the Series X release along with a new Series X controller. This charger works fine, there is nothing wrong with the design, it’s easy to place the charger on its docking station, the LED lights change color to indicate charge condition.

This was perfect for our gamer. The pile of dead batteries was getting higher and higher. Should have bought this a long time ago!

Buyer beware, the battery backplates needed to use this unit will not work with new controllers from Microsoft. I purchased this charging stand from the Microsoft website, along with a new Xbox one wireless controller.

The included battery backplates with this stand are incompatible with the new controller from Microsoft, as the upper tabs are misaligned. The backplates fit with all of my other older controllers, however those controllers do not function properly so I cannot use this unit.

I will email and see if different compatible backplates are available, or I will need to return the charger stand.

Having a controller die during game play stinks. Even worse when you thought you were charging your controller, only to find out it didn’t charge at all because it wasn’t connected properly. Now with this PSP slim charging system, you won’t experience that again.

You just drop the controller in and the magnetic ports take care of the alignment. As a backup to make sure its charging, it has a LED indicator. The LED also has a auto dimmer, so if you are in a dark room, you won’t have the distracting bright LED light.

Best of all on the bottom it has this material to keep the system in place and you don’t need to worry about it getting shuffled around. Modern design that looks cool and is officially licensed by Xbox.

I purchased a new Xbox one controller and this product at the same time. Got it home and found out that they have changed the battery port cover just enough that it is NOT COMPATIBLE with the rechargeable battery pack and cover.

It shouldn’t be a guessing game, the products should just be compatible with all Xbox one controllers. Either a design flaw/error or an intentional action to force customers to upgrade more than just the controller.

I got this nifty little station for Christmas in 2015 and it has worked like a pro ever since. It can charge a controller to full in about an hour. Battery change-out is very simplistic if you have a favorite controller.

(which most of us do) So one can charge while you run the other one down. The only noticeable down side is the placing of the controllers on the charging station. If you do not get the angle correct, they will not charge.

If the lights are not on and a solid color (red or green no blinking) then you do not have the controller placed correctly. This mechanic is very easy to get the hang of. Overall I would recommend this quite highly.

ts a good system in theory, but made cheaply. The power adaptor in mine was faulty in the sense of it emitted a screeching noise, and would run very hot. Google and a few tech friends led me to believe this sort of thing has a small chance of being a fire hazard, so be sure to check for any excess heat or noise when you plug it in.

Aside from that, if you get a model that has no issues it works well, the stand looks good, the replacement battery doors are a cheap plastic and are a stark contrast to the feel of a elite controller, not as much to a regular controller, so I will end up returning mine for a official Microsoft charge kit.

Another point, Microsoft lists under their warranty info that if you use any aftermarket or off brand accessories and it causes damage to the system or controller they are not liable and will not cover you for anything.

So its worth knowing the risks before you buy a cheaper alternative.

Absolutely awesome product! Needed to replace my controller charging dock due to having to be limited to needing to charge the battery while it was in the controller. Now, I can have multiple batteries charge while I am playing! Another awesome thing is how easy it is to set up: literally plug it into the front USB port! It has a locking mechanism to keep it from falling out, it provides an USB port to still use, and the little lights indicate if its fully charged or not! It small and doesn’t make your Xbox look to ugly or bulky.

Only tiny draw back is the white doesn’t match the white Xbox. Not a total big deal; it the tiniest of differences.

This is so much better than purchasing AA batteries (disposable or rechargeable) for the controller. They don’t take long to charge (a few hours; I haven’t timed it) and they last a good long while (I’m going on about 4 days now with light use).

It’s easy to install, looks great attached to my Xbox and works well. I recommend getting one (or two if you have two controllers) The reason for 4 stars is that there is literally NO markings or indicators on the battery packs to tell you which way they go into the charger or in the controller.

Seriously, would it have cost that much to put a sticker or put an arrow or something in the plastic mold to tell you “this way up” or “positive/negative” symbols to assist in orientation. Even though I’ve used these for several weeks now, I still find myself having to figure out which way these go in because there’s nothing obvious letting you know you have it oriented correctly.

I had to break out a sharpie and that just makes it look like a total hack job.

Well, I tried to run with the Xbox Elite series 2 controller & after 2 returns due to buttons either double/triple clicking or the face buttons (ABXY) having to be pressed hard to make them register, I called it quits, not going to do a 3rd return.

So, got my money back and bought this charger setup for my plain jane Xbox controller. I use the Xbox controller on my PC, I honestly like the design of the charger, and I just plug in a USB cable to the dock & the other end into a high wattage charger.

So far its been great. I will tell you that you need to make sure you are putting the batteries the correct way, there is a wrong way. So if there are any PC users out there, this thing is great, and all you need is a female to male USB cable & either hook it to your PC to charge batteries or use a wall charger.
