20 Best Wrist Guards For Snowboarding (2023 Updated)

These mittens are good, albeit not very well suited to the PNW, where I snowboard. They’ve held up really well, considering the abuse I’ve put them through. They’re extraordinarily warm. Sometimes juuuust a bit to warm, sometimes causing my hands to get sweaty, which is also a result of them not being very breathable.

In wetter conditions you will get wet, after enough times falling and planting your hands in the snow. The removeable touchscreen-compatible liners are great, stopping your hands from getting too cold when you briefly remove the mittens to unzip your pockets or switch up your tunes.

You can also remove them and dry them out, as they absorb most of the sweat from your hands. Overall, I think they’re well suited to drier conditions, keep in mind these aren’t leather or Gore-Tex, so you will get wet eventually.

They are well made, they haven’t fallen apart yet, and I like the little touches like the soft backside of the thumb for wiping your nose, and the goggle wipe on the other thumb.

I Really enjoyed these gloves! I bought 2 pairs as they do fit a bit snug. Usually I am head to toe medium in everything type of person. But I ended up ordering a second pair in Large in order to Fit a liner inside.

The Medium are good for warmer ski days. The only thing I wish was Dakine made these in Mittens to keep the fingers warmer. I am an Athletic Therapist + Canadian Ski Patroler and these function well to help prevent wrist sprains / fractures.

They have a Velcro strap that goes all around in order to snug them up. The wrist guard is on the front / back of the hand and sandwiches it. There is a string as well that helps to hold them so you don’t drop them while you take a photo or something! 100% would recommend and buy again.

These check all the boxes for me from the description, but the performance lacked. The biggest flaw was that they are not waterproof. Being an east coast skier the weather changes often and I find myself in rain, these unfortunately did not withstand more then an hr before I found my hands getting damp even with the liners.

The second biggest flaw is the dexterity. The thumb feels tighter for some reason and is hard to even grip my poles. I sent back the first pair I got and sized up which helped a little but it was still stiff.

Other then those two gripes I love everything about them: Back pockets for warmers/pass, liners are awesome and touch screen capable (however the liners pile really quickly) Goggle Lens wiper, soft fabric for wiping nose, wrist straps etc are all great.

I had a severe case of tendonitis from tennis for months that wouldn’t heal. The pain sidelined me from tennis for 2-3 months. I bought three types of wrist wraps, but none of them made the pain better so I could play.

After reading the reviews I decided to give this a try. Although it did limit the natural motion of my wrist it was comfortable and kept my wrist wrap for support. Most importantly, it kept the pain level low enough so I could start hitting tennis balls again.

I paid very little as it was lower than amazon and it was well worth the money. It is very well made. I just bought another so that I can rotate them so they don’t get dirty. Best purchase so far from DME-Direct this year, for sure!.

I bought this a little over a month ago, after breaking my wrist and finding it very weak upon return to “normal use. ” It doesn’t interfere with day to day activities, and seems to help with the repetitive / heavy lifting parts of my job.

The sizing was right on. They quality is as expected and they feel like they’ll do the trick if you fall. My only complaint, and it’s an issue that is becoming more and more prevalent, is that they smell “new.

” Not an issue for most people I know but the plastic that is used in so many of today’s products gives off an odor. This goes away over time but if voc’s are a concern for you, let these air out for a couple days outside.

That said, it is not overwhelming and any wrist guard you buy will have that plastic smell. This criticism isn’t brand specific and has nothing to do with EVO. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

Bought this after I hurt one of my wrists skateboarding. I am only wearing the right side now while riding. I bought a size large and the fit was a bit tight during the first couple run I did, but after a while the elasticity of it loosen up and they fit perfectly now.

The support for the wrist is really stiff and lower the stress of worsening an injury after getting back on wheels. The quality of the material is good and the single velcro strap make it easy to put and adjust with a single hand.

My wrist is not cooking in it, so the material must be breathable to some degree. I only fell a couple of times on it since and it still has plenty of support.

I decided to replace my cheap wrist guards with these now that I’m doing more stuff at the skate park. They are awesome. I’m usually an Aus women’s 8/10 and wear a medium in these. They fit really comfortably and I love how the wider plastic insert offers some thumb protection as well.

Very excellent wrist guard. Very protective for Filipino martial arts sparring with sticks. Goes on smoothly, but somewhat hard to take off. Love it though.

i use this for mountain biking it does help during falls or spills on rock or hard gravel and hitting the sweet spot on trees where the elbow pads don’t protect. highly recommend for any mountain biker you won’t be disjointed crunchy.

My son loves this guard! Its snug & fits perfectly for him. He’s 11.

I am not sure who designed these, but whoever they are have the smallest wrists in the world. I now understand why that person designed these. Their wrists are so thin and fragile, that they don’t dare scratch their nose in fear of hurting themselves.

I tried the XL. Literally the largest size they have. I wear a medium to large glove for references. These things were super tight and the Velcro strap that holds it ion place could not even close as it was not long enough to go around my wrist.

Seriously who desirgned this garbage? That person should be put on a performance improvement plan immediately. This is the dumbest product I have ever reviewed.

My kids are expert skiers but relatively new to snowboarding. After complaining that snowboarding was hard on the wrists after their initial attempt, I purchased these wrist guards for their second venture.

At the end of an overall successful day of snowboarding, my son fell at low speed near the base of a green run and injured his wrist despite wearing these guards. We later learned he’d sustained a buckle fracture.

The orthopedic surgeon who treated him said a guard would really need to extend to the elbow to prevent a wrist fracture, but acknowledged my son’s injury may have been worse without the guard. I’ll still have my kids wear these guards in the future while snowboarding but won’t delude myself that they have magical powers to protect from injuries inherent in the sport.

In terms of fit, M worked well for my 13 yo son while S fit his smaller 14 yo sister.

This is a very nice every day carry type of knife. Although made in China, the knife appears to be well constructed. This is the third Rough Rider sawcut knife that I own. I like the looks of the knife and also the feel of the knife in my hand.

Unfortunately, because of the stigma of “Made in China” pervades the knife industry, this is not likely to have any great collector value, but if you are seeking a solid and serviceable pocket knife, this is an excellent investment.

Since I primarily use a pocket knife sensibly and for what it is intended (cutting items, whittling, etc. ) and don’t beat the tar out of it, I am confident that the knife will last a fair and useful length of time.

Also, if it is used in heavy duty applications and breaks, you haven’t lost a major investment as the cost is about $15. 00 for this knife.

These are great comfortable wrist guards. They easily fit under gloves, and act like a little bit extra warmth if you are not wearing a liner as well. There is a stiff metal plate running up into the palm area, but shaped so this doesn’t cause discomfort.

I bought these when I picked up snowboarding as I have injured my wrist multiple times crashing while mountain biking, and wanted extra protection in that area. Through my beginner tumbles I haven’t felt the wrist at all, which doesn’t actually prove these work, but I don’t see why they wouldn’t if I fell wrong.

I used the sizing chart from Dakine and they seemed to match up pretty well for me.

I love these wrist guards. I didn’t know If I would. They are the 3rd kind I have used in 12 years and by far the best. My others were functional but less comfortable, and slightly cumbersome. I always knew I had them on.

Mostly is the strap setup. My last pair had 3 velcro straps which got in the way of each other, made it harder to cinch easily, and got caught on the inner liner of the glove. The first pair were longer, had one long strap and a steeply bent palm guard, with minimal support on the back.

While no guard worth it’s weight is going to be slim, these Burton guards cinch easily with one strap, stay streamlined because there are no straps or attachments around the hand, and do not snag going into my mittens.

The mesh webbing hold everything in place to allow for easy custom tightening (loose or tight). They are more comfortable than my last pair and I forget I have them on. They are about a inch shorter than the last two, which makes a difference AND still provides tons of support.

They are stiff, but they are supposed to guard your wrist from breaking. Don’t get that complaint?? They stow better (I store mine in my helmet) than the others because of the length, and seem super sturdy so far.

I would recommend getting larger gloves/ mittens for ample room to use these or ANY wrist guards, but that’s not a product fault. In short less velcro to deteriorate or snag, better cinching, a shorter length, easy to stow, tons of support, super comfy.

I bought size Small. I’m woman in my 40s, I have thin hands. I followed the Size chart. I was able to fit them under my Gordini gloves. Wore them for 2 days in a row for snowboarding, and they Very comfortable, flexible yet restricting my wrists from hyper extension.

They SAVED my writs. I injured my right.

This things are great. I’ve taken some gnarly falls this season in compact snow and I would have definitely fractured my wrist by now if it wasn’t due to these. Restrictive enough to protect your wrists but flexible enough to not be uncomfortable.

These are very easy to put on and take off on their own, and I feel comfortable that they would help a beginner avoid a potentially season-ending wrist fracture in the event of a fall. That said, if you have gloves that you like that fit well without wrist guards, these will not fit under them.

Beginners would be well advised to size up on gloves if they use these. Advanced riders will likely prefer a more form-fitting glove, which these will not fit under generally, and will likely already have practice falling in a manner that will not injure their wrists.

So if you’re an advanced rider pushing the limits and looking for wrist protection, I would recommend a glove with integrated wrist protection instead for a more seamless and less frustrating experience.

Pretty stoked on this brace. Bought it after a wrist break to use with mx and bmx. A couple guys I ride with recommended it as a viable solution. It feels like a pretty quality piece, and is a little tight on my size medium hand during the first couple of uses.

It fits under my fox gloves pretty easily. Range of motion is nice, it never felt uncomfortable to me. Theres a flat piece on the top of wrist and back of hand that keeps it from folding backwards (which is how mine broke).

The compression is nice, and it doesnt really feel too constricting and doesnt leave lines. Circulation is fine. Im pleased with the purchase and would definitely recommend.

Very quick delivery, and as described. The Shadow Revive Wrist Supports are ACE! If you’re recovering after a broken wrist (and Surgery) and want to get back riding, or just need more support, these are ideal.

Plenty of support and comfort without obstructing the palm of your hand. Gloves can be worn over or under the supports. If I’d been wearing these in the first place, I doubt I’d have broken my wrist.

This sorted out my sore wrist and feels pretty unobtrusive when riding. Quality is pretty good; my only improvement would be using double stitching on the top part of the support. Overall a great product.

I play mostly infield, and man is this thing helpful. I mostly play 3B and there is a reason why they call it the hot corner. I got tired of having so many hops off my wrist so I looked up a wrist guard, I stumbled across this.

It was on sale at the time so I decided to give it a try. Sure enough, it was one of the best choices ive ever made, a hop right off my wrist is no problem AT ALL. At the end of the day, my recommendation is to get this guard.

Whenever I’m batting I wear it with the shield facing the pitcher, and when I am fielding, I have it turned upside down for any tough hops. Very useful, and a great product.

Playing in a men’s league a couple times a week and even with wrist cuffs on my gloves I have been hacked multiple times on my wrist which has caused bruising and scars. A few times I was nervous could have been a break.

Luckily that never happened but I have an old stress fracture on one of my wrists and finally don’t have to worry anymore. I ordered a large as I have 7. 75 in wrists. Fits super snug but not overly tight.

The box says S-5-6″ M-6-7″ L7-8″ XL8-9″ This sizing was missing from the site. I am 6’4″ with long arms so haven’t been able to find elbow pads that protect. These are super snug and the material hardened in 30 minutes.

I feel confident I will not have any more issues with wrist slashes, I play in front of the net whenever I can and guys tend to hack in my league. I would suggest you slightly turn the guard on whichever hand is your bottom hand to ensure it covers the exposed area when gripping the stick.

I purchased these on a whim for my 10 yr old daughter. She plays attack and middie in boys lacrosse but is very thin so she tends to come out of practices and games a little worse for wear. Anything we can do to protect her arms, we do, so I figured these would be worth a try.

Wow. They’re awesome. Very easy to set up, we molded them right to her skinny wrist/forearm and watched TV while they hardeded. They’re so comfortable she wore them the whole car ride to practice (30 minutes) then 90 minutes during practice.

They didn’t slip or become uncomforatable and completely covered the gap between her arm guards and gloves. Size wise, the small is true to size – she’s 4′ 8″ and about 65 lbs with very thin arms and wrist and the small fit perfectly.

I would say a boy her age would need a medium. We definitely recommend this product.

I wear a medium glove, sometimes a small, the medium was much too small. These do not cover much of your wrist- I’ve had others that were much longer. Neither good nor bad, but know how they fit.

Comfortable wrist guards that’ll protect my moneymakers for years to come

Bought these for my partner for a part of her Christmas present. We measured everything prior to purchase so that we wouldn’t have to send anything back. Unfortunately these came up 2cm small than advised.

Contacted customer support, and although slow to start they rectified the problem swiftly. I’m sure these are a good product l and they feel well made, just beware the size guide. SkatePro did say they would be changing the sizing in the description but I’m not sure if that happened.

Got sick of being in a lot of pain with minimal falls. These are just great. Really confortable, you can still roll a cigarette, check your phone and everything you do normally but you will never hurt your wrists again.

Really happy with them, gave a lot of conffidence to push harder.

Great pads. Over time the fabric near the palm unravels with abrasion, and the plastic splint thins down and then cracks, but these at least get me through about 8 months of skateboarding. Would be great though if they had more padding for the palm as I get palm bruises with these pretty frequently.

I cut some foam and place some under the splint and some on the inside of the pad and that seems to help.

Protects from broken wrists and are well built. These are the only snowboarding gloves I wear.

I was suprised, when I saw that this mittens have an inner removable gloves, witch are very warm. Usuallly I ride without them. Overall: great fit, very comfortable 🙂
