20 Best Work Shoes For Diabetics (2023 Updated)

When Sears discontinued its excellent feather light Wonderlite Vinnie style that I had worn for decades, I really needed to find a perfect replacement shoe for both my feet. I have had multiple major surgeries on them since a child; most recently a total ankle replacement on my left three years ago, so my shoes are not a trivial matter.

Thank God that I found OrthoFeet on the internet! I studied carefully, called OrthoFeet to make sure about ordering in my customary size, and purchased a pair of the Avery Island style on sale. These are by far the best shoes I have ever worn.

I did not need the provided spacers, but did insert the provided arch support. They are extremely well made and sturdy, lightweight, fit perfectly, are comfortable, have great support, and actually help me walk with greater ease, comfort, and confidence in every step.

My old feet feel like they are in heaven! I am an extremely happy customer of OrthoFeet. They are truly a blessing and priced very fairly.

I’ve tried several doctors, several brand of shoe, insoles and treatments by these doctors and nothing helped. Almost 4 years of miserable foot pain radiating up my legs to my knees. It seemed that stretching and frozen water bottles would help a little but as soon as I put shoes on and made my daily attempts to work and do normal activities I would return to an excruciating pain and a miserably painful evening of trying to recover to do it all again the following day.

My only regret is that I never bought shoes from OrthoFeet before now. The shoes are extremely comfortable and provide excellent support. I have wide stubby, flat feet; these shoes address all of those issues beautifully.

The fact that I can customize the fit with the liners provided is fantastic. I do not see myself ever buying shoes from anywhere else in the future.

My husband has a charcot on both foot for a long time that has been bothering him causing pain affecting his mood and activity daily life. Then it got worst when he had a fall in August 6, 2021 causing dislocation of his left foot making him more in pain worst swelling and warm to touch, that even the Doctor told him to stop working.

Ortho, podiatry, Vascular, Cardio, and Endocrinology specialist has been following him. Ortho cannot do a surgery due to his HgbA1C, thats why endo has been following him. Seeing my husband everyday in pain and not in the mood to play my 6 years old son is tearing my heart.

Me as a wife nurse, we tried topical and oral pain medication, epsom salt warm soaking, elevating the foot, I bought him 3 type of ankle strap, legging compressions, multiple foot cushions, and bought a high ankle 2 types of foot shoe size because his left foot (extra wide) is more swelling than the right foot (wide).

But it was really hard to put his foot in due to the high ankle. He already have 2 types of ankle brace which helps him, but he cannot use it for a long time because of risk in pressure ulcer. I have to get an alternate shoes that will help my husband from the brace.

So desperate browsing in the website looking for a shoes that will help my husband. Then I found this site “Orthofeet”. Bought this shoes. And Oh my god! this shoes really helps my husband. The zipper at the back really makes it easy to insert his foot in, plus it is not heavy to wear, unlike the other high ankle shoes.

I have purchased Ecco, New Balance, Nike Adidas, Hoka one one. Desperately looking to reduce my continual foot and leg pain. Every new pair of shoes I purchased helped a little none of them have eliminated my pain as much as OrthoFeet shoes have.

I even have 0 pain days using these shoes. I had an experience where I was wearing a different shoe for the day by the end of the day my feet and legs were killing me. I put my OrthoFeet shoes back on and immediately 80% of the pain was gone.

I also noticed on my Colorado trip to Estes Park walking on trails and rocky roads they work great kept the pain away. Keep up the good work on the shoes. FYI I now have 2 pairs of the Ranger shoes think about buying a third pair for dress shoes.

I forgot to mention how easy they are to put on with the zip backs love that feature.

These shoes changed my thoughts on footwear entirely. They’re so comfortable and actually feel more stable than anything I’ve ever worn. If I had to describe it I would say your feet sit IN the shoes instead of ON the shoes.

They feel wider and more stable at the base. Its hard to describe but once you put them on very easy to understand. I broke the zipper tab off one the first shoes I ordered. I called the number that google provided me while driving across town and my call was immediately answered a girl who looked up my order by using my phone number and had a new pair of shes sent out by the time I reached my next stop.

Now that’s service! I am so impressed by this company that I tell everyone who will listen to try these shoes out, they will change your whole outlook on shoes and restore your faith in the term customer service!.

These shoes are like walking on a cloud. That said, I’m having trouble getting them “dialed” in. I’ve tried the inserts first on both feet then on the right only then on the left only and it just seems I can’t get long term, as in all day, relief from knee, hip, foot pain.

Not all at the same time. Changing out the inserts moves the pain around and for now it just a matter of which combination is the most bearable. I’m in no way faulting the shoes. At least I can make adjustments/alterations unlike a couple of other pairs of shoes I alternate with.

If bunions are your problem, like they are part of mine, the toe boxes in these shoes are a blessing. They definitely solved that problem for me. I recently started some pretty strenuous exercises and that’s when my problem, knee/hip, pain, showed up on an on going basis.

But. my knees feel the best they do all day immediately after exercising. I’m continuing to modify my exercise routings that now include knee pain exercises. It seems to be getting better but like always – Time is the teller of all.

I would buy these shoes again and do recommend them.

My husband has hard to fit feet (8. 5 EEE with very high instep) and is dealing with pain now due to gout, and none of the shoes he’s worn in the past are comfortable anymore. I found OrthoFeet and hoped it might be a solution for him.

I broke my tailbone 16 years ago then went through surgery 2 years ago that actually made my pain significantly worse. After surgery I was recommended Hoka One One, I wore those the last 2 years. Recently I felt like they weren’t good enough and did a search online for sciatica shoes and decided to try out this pair of Orthofeet.

My pair arrived today and I immediately felt more support than the Hokas. One of my problems is that I limp and leg stands about 3/4 an inch longer than the other, things like heel lifts and 3rd party orthotics in my old shoes wasn’t enough.

These shoes come with spacers and orthotics so I can perfectly make them to my unique body. The only complaint I could imagine is that they are warmer than my old shoes. I also really like the style choices in this brand; I think these will never go out of fashion.

I ordered 3 more: slippers, dress, and another casual.

These shoes are the best! I have been suffering with back pain for a long time. It has affected my quality of life and I not been able to go places and do the things I wanted to do, but thanks to these shoes, I am now able to actually walk around flea markets and stores without pain and am enjoying life again with my sister and daughter.

It is great. I was able to start wearing them right out of the box. They keep my feet warm and offer plenty of room in the toe box. I will definitely be ordering more shoes and have also told my sister about them since she has trouble with her back and hips.

Love my Orthofeet shoes! I was having a lot of back,hip,knee and shin pain. Didn’t want to get into prescription pain medication but needed relief and decided that with a 60 day satisfaction guarantee what could I lose.

My first outing in my Orthofeet shoes was an all day shopping trip. I was surprised how comfortable the shoes are and that I didn’t suffer the usual pains and sleepless night after walking on concrete floors all day.

I wear them at home and everywhere I go. I watch the website for availability of a couple other styles I like.

My oorthopaedic doctor told me I needed to get supportive shoes. I have Ortho sneakers but didn’t want to wear them almost winter so chose the Wichita stretch. I am not a sturdy shoe person so these are not what I would have chosen for looks but they felt great right out of the box.

My arthritis pain is gone and the rubbing irritation I was getting from my regular shoes is gone. I wear them every day, all day and they are wonderful. I highly recommend them.

I rarely write reviews but I feel I need to for these shoes. I have severely flat feet. My arches are always swollen and my feet always hurt. I’ve had many different types of expensive prescription orthotics and they never seem to help any more than the store bought ones to be honest.

This shoe is the most comfortable one I’ve had. The pain in the top of my foot is almost gone and the plastic inserts give me just enough support. My arches aren’t aching like they use to. I work at a Y as a wellness coach so I have a closet full of various workout shoes but these are my favorite and the only ones I want to wear anymore.

I bought the black, then the turquoise and will probably be buying the pink. They have truly been a game changer for me! Please continue to make more colors! I am a 9 and usually size up to a 9. 5 for athletic shoes but I probably could have sized up to a 10 and used the inserts they give you.

If you’re in between, I would suggest doing that.

I’m a hot mess. Foot pain, pronation, back pain, scoliosis, hip pain, and of course rotten, old arthritic knees (guess mama was right – I spent way too much time on them in my youth). Pardon me dirty man – I’m talking about 42 years of skating, hockey, cheerleading, paintball, basketball, volleyball, jumping off roofs – don’t ask why.

it takes it’s toll. Anyway – 50’s creep up and it got to where I couldn’t take my poor puppy around the block for a walk without feeling excruciating pain somewhere, everywhere. He was not a happy puppy.

I hit rock bottom on the activity scale – so I bought a pair of Verve’s – and “oh boy” that hit the spot! Within a few weeks, I was wearing out my Great Dane – going for miles and running him crazy around the dog park – sometimes twice a day.

Now, my Dane’s worn out, and I can’t get enough. No sir – you dirty, dirty man – from exercising. (ick). I’ve since bought Tahoe, Coral and Naples. And they’re all great. So much better than the “bums” I used to get.

So I was a little wary at first of buying shoes online, but I have severe arthritis in my left knee from severe hemophilia A, and I’d dropped a local ortho shoe place because their quality just went to crap.

I am blown away by the quality of these shoes. Most shoes require a break-in period where your foot and the shoe have to learn to get along, these feel absolutely comfortable from the first moment that you put them on.

I can’t believe how cushiony it feels to walk in these, it literally feels like you’re walking on clouds! You need as much shock compression as you can get when your knee has no cartilage, and I’m sure it’s helped my back some too.

Frankly, anyone that’s on their feet for a long time would benefit from these. I even bought a pair for my brother (works in a warehouse, has back issues), and I know he loved them because as soon as he put them on he didn’t take them off, and forgot he was wearing them.

I can’t say enough. Buy these shoes.

Here’s the deal: I don’t have diabetes. I have very bad bunions, especially the one on my right foot. I’ve been looking for shoes that would relieve the aching of the bunions, especially when I’d drive for a number of miles.

When I’d get to my destination, I could barely walk. But, guess what? I no longer have that problem because of the diabetic shoes that I purchased from AmeriMark. What a relief. I am now going to purchase another pair, of a different color from Amerimark.

These shoes fit my mother perfectly right out of the box. She loves them. Her feet swell and sometimes even wide shoes are not wide enough. I would highly recommend these to anyone that has difficulty with shoes fitting perfectly.

Was told to order a size smaller than normal. That still didn’t work. The shoes could have probably fit a size 8 instead of a 6.

I had no idea when I bought these that they would be so comfortable. I was trying to replace a pair of shoes that had memory foam in them. These turned out to be far more comfortable. Sometimes I have to look down to make sure I am not wearing my house shoes out the door to work.

If you are looking for some comfortable shoes then these are the ones. I love these shoes.

I have a lot of foot issues, 4 surgeries and walk kinda gimpy due to Parkinsons. I find these help keep my bad foot from turning out sideways when I walk. not sure why but guessing something to do with the insert, support etc? And the wide toe box is gentle on my sore toes.

Important thing is they are comfortable and help me walk better!.

I was beyond skeptical if these would actually work, these are fantastic! My feet feel amazing in them. Long time delivery driver and have suffered from plantar fasciitis and heel Spurs for years. These help dramatically.

My husband has extra wide feet plus edema. Socks that “fit size 15” rarely fit him so I bought the XL figuring they would have the best chance of being the correct size. They were huge and fell off his feet.

What a surprise. Had to return them. They appeared to be of good design and of excellent quality. Regular shipping was indicated to be UPS but it arrived via Canada Post. Not a problem but was unexpected.

I didn’t receive an emailed notification that package was delivered. Don’t know how long it was sitting in my mailbox. I only check it once a week. I will have to reorder but have been too lazy.

The slippers fit my Mother in laws swollen diabetic feet nicely with soft warm material, but they do not stay positioned on the foot if the wearer has to shuffle to walk. They tend to move around and the non slip bottom ends up on the side of the foot.

If the person has better mobility, or is in a wheelchair, these would be fine for diabetics with edema. If they are in the late stages of mobility, not so much.

I don’t have diabetic feet or other foot problems, but these booties have something to offer. comfort and a grippy outside sole. They are definitely bigger than I need, so I wear a thick pair of socks to compensate.

Also, they are machine washable, but I let them air dry. Easy on and easy off.

This is a brand I have never heard of so I very hesitant to purchase these sneakers. But, am I glad I did! I have rheumatoid arthritis, so I need a good solid sneaker with support. These are probably the best running sneakers I have ever worn! I love that they removable insoles and come with an extra pair.

Also, they have wide widths! I wore them right out of the box and went for a 4 mile run/walk and had no issues afterwards! No pain in my feet or anywhere else. I like them so much I went a bought the other style to try out.

I’ve had these for a couple of weeks now. I’m so happy with these shoes. Even though they are running shoes, they are also great for walking. I’ve walked paved as well as dirt trails in them without my usual foot pain kicking in after a couple miles.

They also look nice as well. Very glad I purchased these.

Just standing, these feel great. However once you walk the back is too short so they slide off like a flip flop as you walk. I don’t understand why the backs are so much shorter than they appear in the photo.

I do love the different inserts it comes with which make it worth the cost but needs a higher ankle especially with such a heavy shoe.

I purchased this shoe last year for my dad who has neuropathy in his feet and has been battling pressure point ulcers, infection and toe amputations for the past two years. It was difficult to find a shoe that was comfortable and supportive but at the same time not constrictive, hard, or cause new ulcers to develop when he walks.

The style and quality of the shoe is remarkable. I just ordered and received a new pair for him. My experience in ordering, purchasing, and receiving from Healthy Feet has been positive from start to finish.

I bought this shoe a second time for my elderly mom. She feels very comfortable in them. They’re wide enough to accommodate bunions and offer plenty of stability. Would be nice if they were made in navy, brown, and grey, too.

This is my second pair of these shoes. LOVE THEM WEAR THEM DAILY. After 3 yrs. of that, the first pair sadly must be retired. But the availability of a new pair allows the love affair to endure of Darco shoes!.

I bought these about a week before we went on a family vacation. Going to a few state parks for hiking and waterfalls. I expected OK not great. I need a lot of arch support, after a few hours on my feet I’m usually ready for a rest because of my aching feet and legs.

I’m not sure how they do it but it feels like I’m walking bare footed, yet enough support my feet haven’t hurt or gotten sore at all. We hiked 3 or 4 miles the first day, up and down hills with no issues at all.

We hiked about 3 miles the second day and 2 the last day and never any problems or soreness whatsoever. I really like the zippers on the back, much easier to get on and off. After we got back home I cleaned them up and wore them to Church, they are way more comfortable than my “Church shoes”.

Overall best shoes I’ve had in years!!.

I was excited to receive these boots today. Unfortunately, the AFO brace I wear was difficult to get into the boot (with the zippers down and laces loosened) and when zipped, the brace pressed against one of the zippers, making it likely the zipper would be broken by this pressure.

It was also difficult to get my left foot into the boot because I have drop-foot and the opening between the tongue of the show and the brace is small, even after unzipping the back and loosening all the laces.

I have no way to curl my toes upward to slip my foot in, as required for such a steep angle. However, once the boot was on, it seemed comfortable with my insoles and the sole of the boot was flexible and cushioned.

I do not recommend this shoe for anyone with an AFO.

I have found the new boots easy and quick to break in. They are very comfortable and the tops will be durable. I am a 63 yr old Vietnam and Desert Storm vet and I still hike or walk everyday. I have been wearing some form of military boots/hiking boots for years.

These boots will do just as well except the sole. I have already worn down the outside of the heels. The soles are slippery and unreplacable. For that reason alone I will not be able to afford them again even though the comfort is magnificent.

My doc recommended a similar boot with a more durable sole but I can’t ever find it in my size. It is also less expensive. I wish this company would come up with an orthopaedic hiking boot with a Vibram sole.

I would pay a whole lot. Just a note: I am female and I am sick of wearing black or brown boots. I wear men’s boots simply because a men’s size 7 ex wide fits the best. And so are all my aging active women friends.

My husband is a stroke survivor, and is left side effected. We have ordered these same shoes for him on other sites in the past. They are very well made. Easy for him to get on and off. They also keep him from having to wear his AFO support to keep his ankle from rolling because they fit snuggly around his ankle.

This is major progress for him. I was also able to save money also by purchasing them from ShoeMall. Com.

Purchased these shoe boots for my 84 year old father who always wore a well made work boot for work and home chores/activities. Although retired he often talked about how he felt best with a work boot.

So I did some searching and came upon these gems. He loved them. Light weight and the best overall support that helps him walk and balance better as well. My thanks to who ever designed these shoe boots.

These look much better in person. They are highly stylish for a mid calf shoe. I have gotten many compliments on them. Best thing about them is how comfortable they are. I already ordered a backup pair.

This sneaker is a dark navy blue. It is made of neoprene which means it may be a bit warm. I had not been expecting neoprene based on the pictures. I am told this brand specializes in hard to find larger sizes.

The sneaker looks stylish.

I bought these as Christmas gift for my husband so he will have to report on their comfort. I will say they are BEAUTIFUL! I love this shade of blue. My husband is expanding his wardrobe a bit so blue is almost essential now.

Hubby started getting diabetic shoes a few years ago. The difference is the insoles that Dr. comfort makes! You can actually take them out and put them in other cities. Our insurance pays for one pair per year.

He really likes these shoes. We even bought him sandals. 🇺🇸✝️.

your service is superior. I’m very content with your customer service department. Up until three (3) years ago I owned Total Home Health Care, Inc, a surgical and pharmacy, and your service is up to the standards that I would give and therefore expect.

Just as a side note I dispensed Dr Comfort, and several other brands of diabetic shoes as well custom making and molding shoes, orthotics and braces. My wife is also a professor at Long Island University, College of Pharmacy teaching surgical appliances, wound care, nd some prosthetics.

This is my third pair of Dr Comforts. I am still wearing my first ones as yard shoes and they’re still going fine Simply the best !!!

This is by far the best work shoe that I have ever worn. The velcro straps make on and off quick and easy, and the overall fit of the shoe provides total comfort. There are options for making more or less room in the shoe, which can accommodate wearing an extra sock, for example, in the winter.

Have worn for well over a year now, and they show practically no signs of wear. Sturdy, tough, but also very flexible without any ankle issues at all. Everything you would want in a work boot.

The test for any new shoe for me is how the tops of my feet feel after a day of wearing the shoe. I have very high insteps plus arthritis on the tops of my feet. I wore these shoes all day today and my feet feel wonderful!.

This pair of shoes were comfortable out of the box, very stable soles, feel secure walking in these shoes. Easy on/off too. Bought the Navy first, now buying the Black too!

I bought some Dr. Comfort sneakers back in January, and they are rubbing my feet a little. I thought I’d get this style because I thought it would be better. Alas, it is worse. I bought some stretchers, because it’s not a whole size off.

We’ll see. Besides from that. they look nice.

I have difficult feet to fit any ready wear shoes. With the XW (extra wide) selection available, these shoes fit. Perfectly! My feet swell so the adjusting straps are a definite plus! Highly recommend.

These shoes are the only ones I have found that work with my Charcot foot and the inserts required for me to walk.

At 55 I started a second career in the restaurant industry after retiring from a 32-year career as a firefighter. I was concerned about being on my feet for 8 to 10 hour days. I needed a slip-resistant shoe and ordered a pair from another company the restaurant recommended but found Orthofeet by mistake.

When both shoes arrived there was no comparison between the two in support and build quality. The other shoe had good reviews, but many said it was made more comfortable by adding new insoles and it was not waterproof.

By the time I would’ve spent money on insoles I would have been at the same price point as the Dolomites and likely came home with wet feet. I originally ordered a size 12 and they were too small. I normally wear a 12 in dress shoes and work boots and 13 in running shoes, with two different sized feet getting the right size is always a challenge.

Some of my work boots were wide but I don’t normally need a wide shoe. The Dolomites slip resistance, safety toe, support, and overall build quality are impressive so far. There is ample room in the forefoot if you are on the border between regular and wide shoes, the regulars may work for you.

I think a wide would’ve added too much room and not worked for my needs. The only downside is they are a little heavy but not an issue for my work. I’ll be adding a second pair in the near future. As a side note, I also ordered a pair of the Palma’s for my wife who had bunion surgery last year and was having issues making it through shifts as a cashier with continued foot pain.

She now makes it through four shifts a week much more comfortable. 25 years of nursing were tough on her feet and these allow her to continue working part-time when she thought she may have to quit due to foot discomfort.

Like the old VOLVO commercial, “They’re Bulky But Good”. My first thoughts as i observed them upon opening at first glance. It did take me a few days to “ LEARN “ how to fully enjoy them. These are issue for me and my job as I am seriously handicapped by OCD little things sometimes are TOO MUCH.

1, shoe laces were too long and due to my feet swelling and contracting I was always fumbling with them. : Solution shortened laces and purchased “ KIWI” sneaker no-tie laces. Infinitely adjustable without wasting time with shoe laces.

2, Low cut ankle socks don’t work since one shoe kept “EATING “ my sock within 20 mins. In conclusion, they have become one of my favorite ever footwear. The safety toe was tested 2 days after wearing them.

I would have had 2 broken toes had it not been protected. To anyone give the shoes a good try because they are not average and are certainly worth time and effort to adjust them. Thank you, Rhett Jones.

Nice shoe for someone having to do stressful work all day. Theyre a real plus If you have to walk thru shallow water puddles a lot. The walking surface is thick enough to keep you dry at your feet for allot longer than what I used to wear.

If you have aggravation from working in wet socks, these will reduce that aggravation. Laces look they’ll last a good while. Lace eye structure is convenient too. No annoyance from the reinforced toe,.

Top is supple and comfortable. Takes a few days of wearing for the sole inserts to seat properly. Product is up to what advertising claimed.
