20 Best Work Pants For Welders (2023 Updated)

I wear a 32 in length and NORMALLY a 32 waist. I bought a pair of these last year and I bought 32×32. They were a little loose in the length and more like a 34 in length. Luckily not enough difference that I couldn’t use them and they were amazing enough functionally to order another pair.

So this year based on what I experienced I ordered a 30×30. The waist fits perfect, but now they are too short for me! I’m wearing them because I have no other option but how can a 32 length be too long and a 30 length be too short? Is there a 31 length? I’m done growing so it’s a bit annoying.

That being said, when you order these, order a size below what you normally wear in other brands, such as carhartt. And good luck with the length. Not sure which pair was at fault, maybe the first pair was labeled wrong? Now I’m stuck with too short of pants.

I should have ordered 32 in length again but how was I suppose to know. I figured the length was “vanity” sizing like waist is. Anyway.

I never got to try them out, I had to send them back because the size I ordered wasn’t the size they sent. This was the second time I’ve tried to order through their online store and this is the second order I haven’t been able to wear.

The first Oder they never shipped and the second order was the wrong size! I’m not sure I like how this is shaping up, already two strikes against them. Not sure if I want to try a third time….

I bought these pants for the first time 3 YEARS AGO!! I just recently had to buy my second pair. I work in a very harsh environment in the Alaskan oilfield. I’m very rough on fr clothing. These are the best fr pants on the market.

Honestly I wouldn’t buy these with my own money. They’re work pants and work pays for them. But for how expensive they are, even with discounts, they don’t last. Pros: They’re light weight and roomy, good for summers in south Texas.

You can actually fit a smart phone in the side pocket. Cons: Charcoal color sizes are smaller than khaki. Khaki were true to size. Fairly durable except the crotch wore out of both pairs after about 7 months.

It’s a consistent problem I’ve had with the entire Riggs line of pants over the years. I can stand wearing through pants, but the two pairs I can’t fit into sitting in my closet are what really bother me.

Guess that’s what I get for assuming that they all fit the same before taking off the tags.

I wear these pants every day. One wearing, then wash, machine wash and dry. I’m retired, but these pants go the range, stores, light yard work, shopping, recreational walks in the park, dining out, regular house keeping work.

listen, friends, these pants are not built or intended for heavy labor, construction, cement truck operation, carpenter, ditch digging, logging, etc. So, if you use them for something heavy in labor, then please don’t complain when they don’t satisfy you.

But you can wear them in warmer climates and not feel like you are wearing a horse blanket {like heavy cottons or denims}.

The pants we received, though the label said they were the correct items, were nothing like the pictures on the website, nor like the previous pairs of these pants that I bought my husband. They are darker, and have a repeating square stitching in them.

I previously bought these pants because my husband is hard on clothes, so I wanted something he could wear to the office (he works IT) that looked nice but would last. The last ones looked appropriate for an IT job.

These don’t. Not very impressed.

Just Wow! I tried on a pair of jeans at a local retailer. I was sad that they had a limited variety that did not include the style that I was looking for. I understand this, but still sad. I reached out using the chat feature on the website with a question about length, leg opening, etc.

What followed was a wealth of information about every measurement of the jeans that I was looking to purchase. I was no longer as uncomfortable about buying on line. Once they arrived, they were just as had been described.

I opted for a stacked jean. The length is perfect with the right amount of stack for me. One note, the waist size fits different depending on the style. I tried on the M5 at the store and it was a bit snug.

I ordered the same waist size for the M7, this pair fits perfectly. Be sure to double check the waist size before ordering. With my experience, the associate provided me with exact inches for each measurement of the jeans.

The jeans material feels heavy and durable and yet incredibly comfortable. I wore mine, right out of the package for an all day excursion when my wife and I were out and about. Sitting, standing, walking, they are just that comfortable.

Ariat, I have boots and now jeans and the experience has been truly outstanding, my new favorite. I am looking forward to more of both in the future for myself and my wife. Thank you.

Recently bought my first pair of Ariats. Life long Levis customer. I’ve been searching for an on-line jean that fits and I have found it. I am 5″11″, 155 pounds, very lean and athletic. These jeans are excellent.

The denim is high quality and the accent stitching is awesome. They are snug fit across the waist, crotch and butt but relax down the leg. There is a flare at the bottom of the leg that is wider than boot cut but less than bellbotton.

Frankly, I like it because I have grey hair and I am tired of the stupid, skinny jean look. I wear Olukai sandals a lot, Onitsuka tigers plus desert boots and the look is great. Single guys, the chicks will love these.

Anthony Bourdain would wear these jeans.

I have a lot of Ariat jeans and I love them, but they constantly discontinue certain styles so I’m always picking through the new styles to find ones I like. I ordered these and couldn’t be more disappointed.

First off, they’re supposed to be “extra slim”, and they’re not. I would consider them relaxed fit at best. Second, the color is NOT EVEN CLOSE to what is in the pictures. These are very dark jeans. It would take 50 washes for them to look like the ones in the picture.

Ariat pays for return shipping, that’s the best thing I can say about this item.

Ive been wearing 32×32 my whole adult life. I had to buy a 34×32 flex to get a waist that was ok but now feel too big. They fit nothing like an original 874 32×32. Stores sell flex dickies only so thats the only reason I decided to try them.

The waist does not flex at all nor do the legs or anything. Why would you use the term flex when there is nothing that moves like it has elastic in it. Now I noticed theres 2 different flex 874 out now.

One has a white traditional waist band and the other ones are black which is what I have. Maybe you have fixed the sizing problem. I now have 3 pairs of the black waist band 874 flex that I waisted $90.

I found $14 pants at walmart that fit perfect. I hope you stop using the flex term because that false. If they were truly a flex pant which has elastic throughout the whole pants I would be able to wear my 32 waist and my 33 waist which I cant even button.

Ive been trying to find this particular fit for a long time. I started wearing Dickies in 2002. It was a BMX thing with a pair of Etnies Shoes. These fit right and not baggy so the pants wouldnt get caught in the chain.

Would get the them at Goldman’s in Milwaukee, WI ALL COLORS. Also Walmart had them in black, grey, blue, sand. Then Goldman’s closed and Walmart switched to the goofy double knee and cell phone pockets, baggy as ever smh.

Smart phones were not a thing yet and online ordering was not convenient. These are the perfect fit from my generation. Not skinny jeans, not baggy, not high waters. Simple, sleek and right. I wear size 34 x 34.

I purchased 3 pairs of these pants in different colors. When they arrived I opened them up and I literally gagged from the smell. I don’t t know why new clothing would smell like they did. It was horrible.

Rotting fish is the best I can describe it. I did not want to deal with sending them back so I washed them. 4 times before the smell was finally gone. This is my first time ordering from Fingerhut and more than likely my last for al least clothing.

Tried to call customer service about this but the wait was too long. I am wondering if Fingerhut buys salvaged goods and sells them as new un damage?? Bad smelling clothes is damaged clothing to me.

Preface, part of this is on me. I expected a work pant to have some reasonable burn protection or resistance which these do not. While l did not see any statement on the description advertising FOR burn resistance there is also none stating AGAINST so as an overall workpant I probably would not recommend.

That being said I did put them through the ringer. Being as satisfied as I was with the way they held up well during a day of clearing brush and some mild construction work I decided to give them a weekend test in the desert.

While they were a very comfortable pant for walking/hiking and general traversing in he Southern California sun I made a mistake by hoping for more than advertised… As for their initial burn resistance, concentrated blasts from a Roman candle seemed to vary anywhere from a dime to a quarter size imprint.

Tear resistance while running through bushes seemed spotty, while I might expect a lesser pant to absolutely tear these held up okay, save for minor tears near the knees and shins as I flailed through desert shrubbery avoiding being struck with small incendiaries.

Following their satisfactory performance through pyro sponsored activities I decided to test their durability on a gentle excursion with the dirt bike. While they breathed well and held up to subtle strikes from branches, once the unfortunate moment came that I found myself inverted from vertical riding to horizontal, I realized quickly, from the warmth in my leg, these pants are definitely not burn/exhaust pipe proof.

Save for some minor scrapes however the overall durability was generally satisfactory, excluding the massive melted hole through my pant leg. To surmise, good for general work not involving grinding/welding/open flames, not recommended for dirt bike riding or Roman candle wars.

Probably not worth the near $80 price tag in my opinion.

I have four pairs of the T2 pants now. All of them are still in great shape. I just liked them so well I bought another two pair after the first two pair I originally bought in 2020. I definitely like the fit and sizing better than some other big brand name work pants I’ve tried.

For reference, I’m 5′ 10″, 170 and I wear a 34×30 in the Truwerk pants. I have a little extra room in the waist, but I like that over them being tight. For a 30″ inseam, they really fit me well and don’t break too short like some other pants I’ve tried.

I really like the new design upgrades of the newer T2 pants, specificly the reenforced tabs sewn on the parts of the pockets where you might clip a pocket knife or EDC flashlight. I carry both a pocket knife and flashlight and the newer design with the reenforced tabs makes the clips on a flashlight or knife grab ahold better.

I think they are much less likely to slip out of your pocket when you sit, kneel, crouch, or lay down. I like the double pockets in the rear as well. The older single zip pocket was ok, but it’s nice to have two rear pockets like regular jeans.

Overall I wear these pants all the time, both when I’m doing work as well as for casual wear. I wore a pair while building fence last summer and they held up great to kneeling in dirt and gravel as well as general wear.

I also do work with training working dogs and these pants hold up great to the wear of being in that training environment, like bitework, setting tracks, and just general abrasion from dog claws etc.

I’ve noticed these pants are particularly resistant to the fabric picking. I’ve walked through plenty of blackberry brush and other heavy brush without any noticable damage to the fabric. The T2 pants also feel fairly wind resistant in colder temperatures.

I can put a pair of long johns under them and they are very warm down into the low 20s. My only criticism is that they can stain if you’re not careful. I got food grease on a pair of them and even “Spray and Wash” stain remover really hasn’t completely got one larger stain out.

All the other light fabric stains I’ve had in these paints came right out in the wash. Overall, I’d definitely recommend these pants for comfort and durability, plus I think they look really nice too.

Some of the best work pants and pants in general I’ve ever owned. The T1 pants are nice on hot days and breathe plus dry lightning fast. They are softer and more quiet than the T2 pants while still being durable.

Just worked all day in them staining some decks and it was 95-100 degrees out and I was comfortable in my Truwerk t shirt and T1 work pants. I love the pants overall. They aren’t as water resistant as the T2 pants but they still bead water off but do need to reapply some dwr activator to bring back the water repellancy after about 4 washes so that’s a bummer but typical of performance/technical type fabrics if you use dryer sheets and normal detergent.

Unfortunate as the detergent and dwr refresher spray are expensive and a pain to wash if you only have a few articles of clothing to wash to clean and reactive the water repellency features of the performance/technical fabric.

My only other complaint is the cargo pocket is bulky and sticks out a bit but is very nice to have for working in the trades. I just wish they made the cargo pocket a tad more sleek so the pants looked a tad more sleek like the Wrangler ATG pants.

The pros definitely out way the two cons I have with these pants and I will be getting more. I would love to try the Cloud pants out but they have been sold out since I found out about Truwerks clothing line.

The T1 pants are already very comfortable in hot weather so I can imagine the Cloud pants are the best. If you’re on the fence about these pants just choose to buy them and you won’t be disappointed I promise.

The double buttons are definitely a perk as well since they keep the pants on your waist and hips so the pants don’t slide down like other performance/technical fabric pants I own.

Great pants! Finding a 38 length is nearly impossible for my fiancee who is 6’9″. Ariat work pants are sturdy and durable enough when he’s working (bathroom remodels), but also look great if we go out.

Was skeptical about these pants so I bought a pair. Absolutely love them. Very comfortable, very durable, and they look more professional than jeans. Had several compliments in first few weeks and people asking how they can get some.

I went back to order 3 more pair but they are out of my size for awhile now. Hope they are not being discontinued.

Ordered three pairs of pants and will be returning all of them. Two are nowhere close in the waist compared to other brands or even Wranglers I’ve bought in the past. One pair was fine in the waist but four inches too long.

I used to only buy Wrangler cargo pants because they had good quality for the price. I have some pairs that are over 10 years old and would buy many more of that quality if they were available. Unfortunately, they’re not.

Wrangler has consistently lowered both the manufacturing quality and materials quality over the past 10 years. I have provided feedback many times in the past few years and seen others provide similar feedback.

Since it’s all falling on deaf ears, I will never buy Wrangler again.

I do building maintenance and all-around repairs for a facility for Autistic Children and Adults with special needs. That being said they keep me pretty busy with repairs of all kinds. I have been wearing these pants for well over 6 years and they never let me down when it comes to their ruggedness and durability.

The side pouch comes in handy for my cell phone as well as the cargo pockets allow me plenty of room for whatever I may need to carry or bring back to my office. I also wear the shorts in the late Spring and Summer.

Great pants. My Son has a Hardscape business and His pant choice is the same. Not to mention His buddies that are 150 operators, they also prefer these pants. In the winter I wear the fleece-lined versions.

Bought a pair of these at a cabelas and didn’t bother trying them on because i have plenty of wrangler jeans and know how they’re cut and fit. i just grabbed them off the shelf and went to checkout. took them out of the bag whenever i got home and the stitching was awful.

there was pulled strands everywhere and the bottom of one of the cargo pockets was completely ripped and can stick my hand through them. this is on cabelas as much as wrangler for letting a pair of pants that look like this leave the factory and cabelas for putting in on the shelf.

and with the fabric type you would think that they are somewhat water resistant but not at all. soaks right in like a bath towel and i would hate to see how bad it its after a few washes and some wear.

my money will be going to ridgecut they make a much better pair at $20 less.

I bought a pair of the RedHead Ultimate Work Pants this afternoon at the Rancho Cucamonga, CA store. Due to the pandemic, the changing rooms were not open. When I tried them on at home, they fit perfectly and are very comfortable.

The online description does not do them justice, so let me try to provide additional details. The pants have what I consider the two most important features that a comfortable pair of pants MUST have.

First, the waist-band is stretchy elastic and fits as comfortable as a pair of underwear. It seems more pant manufacturers have figured out that this is very comfortable and are making jeans/pants with a stretchy elastic that stays secure, but provides a bit of give when moving.

Second, the crotch has a gusset that allows “the boys” more space. It’s an extra bit of material in the crotch area that adds to the comfort of the pants and allows space for more movement. If you have not tried a pair of pants with a gusset, you don’t know what you are missing.

Super comfortable. Other features that I like are the material is soft and has a broken-in feel to it. There are 7 belt loops, which seem to hold pants in place better than 5 belt loops. Also, there is extra material at the bottom of the pant legs to avoid wear.

Lastly, there is triple-stitching down the sides and at certain stress points. The pants are not entirely triple-stitched, but key points are reinforced. I liked the initial pair so much I just purchased 3 more pairs (one in each color).

I bought 2 pair in different colors. I loved them so much I searched the store several times to no avail. I searched multiple times on line and found 2 more pair in my size. Unfortunately they were the same colors.

I bought them any way. These are the best pants ever. i love that they come in a 35 waist since most make me pick too loose or too tight. They stretch. They are reinforced where they should be like at the heels and where your pocket knife clips into your pocket.

These have to be the most comfortabile pants I have ever worn they are versatile – use them for yard work or pair them with a sport coat for a night on the town. The cell phone pocket on the right leg is a perfect size.

I orded two for camping and after I received them, ordered two more. They are comfortable and the material is soft right out of the package. They are very reasonably priced. Love them! Goodbye jeans!.

First of all I am a HUGE Truewerk fan. I wear the pants/shorts every single day and have spent hundreds of dollars here! I just ordered a new set of pants as I have worn out my old ones. These are the new design pants with new side pocket, new back pockets, new front pockets, and new belt line loops.

I am very particular about things and notice details extensively and I am not happy one bit with how the new pants are. Front pocket: the new design is hard to get your hand into and is not deep enough.

The smaller items in your pocket on the new pants do not sit comfortably in the pocket of the new pants vs being unnoticeable on the old pants. Also the new design makes it difficult to get my hand into the pocket where the old ones were very easy and I appreciate that more than it should seem.

Others here have said the same. I DO like knife/tape measure spot on the new front pockets ! Rear pocket: Finally adding a left rear pocket was a fantastic idea that people have been asking for. I like how the new pants do not have a zipper rear pocket as that is unnecessary.

My big issue with the new rear pocket is the interior design. The pocket is too wide so items (like cell phone) in the rear pocket fall down and get lost in the pocket because the seam of the side of the pocket is way over on the side of the leg vs being a straight down pocket so items stay in place.

Nothing is more annoying than having to dig around in my rear pocket for my cell phone when it falls sideways because the pocket is too wide. Belt line/loops: This is a major pain in my opinion. The addition of more loops around the waist was extremly unnecessary and poorly thought out.

Nobody wants to have to do a double take every time they put pants and a belt on to be sure they hit every single belt loop on their pants. I have returned pants of other brands because of this as well.

Lets just stick to the standard belt loop amount and location. More is NOT better in this situation. Also. the front two loops are WAY too close together. Most of us guys have a standard size belt buckle and trying to get your hands in between these front two loops to put on, loosen, take off the belt and handle the belt buckle is brutal.

They are way too close and should absolutely be changed. Side Pocket: The side pocket is not awful but I still do not like how the new pocket holds items like my wallet after the redesign. They just do not sit the same in the side pocket.

The curvature of the seam on the old pants and how items rest in the side pocket was much better on the old pants. I should not be bothered by the items in my side pocket. I really do like the look of the new side pocket though vs the old one.

Also one major design thing I think you could modify to make the side pocket top notch. use hidden lightweight magnets (two of them. One on each edge) like Sitka does in their pants/gear instead of using velcro.

I think this would be a huge addition to the pants and make it more enjoyable and easier for guys utilizing the left side pocket. The fit: There are multiple reviews on here about the fit and I agree with them.

These are not thought out great as far as the fit goes. They are extremly comfortable but I am forced to order a size larger than normal because the legs/groin area are too tight. I have done this since I started wearing these pants but have been hoping for a change.

They could also be 1/2″ longer. I NEVER write reviews on things but felt I had to in this situation. I really love the gear produced here and like I said I wear them every single day. But as a very loyal customer I am extremly disappointed in the new design.

Not sure what I will be doing with these new pants or if I will be returning them and finding others.

These pants “fit on the waist”. I prefer “fits above the waist”. The legs are perfect and the side pocket is essential for cell phone carry. Unfortunately because they’re not “fits above the waist”, I had to return them.

Darn! I’m giving them a four star rating for the positive attributes, not a five star because they “fit on the waist”. So sorry!.

Great work pants but also good for everyday wear. The fit is flattering and they are super comfortable. Wash well.

I like these pants for cool weather casual and work wear. With the hidden elastic waist, cargo pockets, wear layers on the knees and sturdy fabric, the canvas version are my favorite work and outdoor pants.

I got some for my teenage son and they have become his favorite also. I have been wearing them for several years and replaced them, trying the various versions including the standard weight, canvas and insulated versions.

The heavy canvas are the best for my money. I do find that the hip pockets are inadequate and develop holes quickly. In the lighter cotton versions, I found the pockets were made with gauzy fabric that sometimes developed holes immediately.

The heavy canvas versions are made with heavier hip pocket material, but I still find they develop holes faster than I would expect. This was a persistant problem in all the versions and pairs of these guide gear pants that I have bought.

Absolutely the best pair of cargo pants I have ever owned. Zippers galore, cargo pockets that don’t interfere with side pockets, great elastic waistband expansion, and belt loops to fit a nice wide belt.

Ahh, so why the 4 stars? Well, I have 5 pairs of these in 46×30, and I love them. This review is for 2 new pairs in 44×30. You know those great belt loops? Unfortunately, on these 44×30, the last two loops nearest the zipper are over a foot apart!! I like the double loops on the back, but the rest of them should have been spread out to bring the last two closer to the front.

Bad design dude. Still like ‘em.

I have bought the pants for maybe 16 years, and really liked them. Very warm. However, several years ago, I began to experience some quality problems. The outer layer was no longer canvas, and worse, the front pockets kept ripping open.

Material was too thin. I decided to give them one more try, and was very pleased with the quality improvements. They seem better than ever! Thank you for correcting these problems. I love these pants.

Pants are nice. Normally 30 in FXD had to go 32. They fit quite tight. Not as stretchy as other FXD’s. much cooler in the heat.

They are high quality, made in Canada and affordable. They look very professional and not too baggy. They fit me well, I’m 5-11” and wear a 32” x 32”. Hats off to Big Bill for continuing to manufacture clothes in Canada it’s why I continue to buy their products!.

I havent had them long so don’t know how they will wear over time, but they seem like fairly good quality material. They do seem a bit small compared to other pants I have of the same size.

I purchased these pants to ride my Harley-Davidson. These pants are comfortable; will not melt on the pipes; and provide abrasion resistance in case of a fall.

I bought these to expand my work wardrobe at a new job – I am a Maintenance Manager in a production plant. My former company provided a similar product I liked from a uniform rental vendor, so I was pleased to see Red Kap offer something affordable I could buy myself.

Materials are good quality and comfortable. I am sure they are durable enough for my environment. Fit is a bit bigger than advertised, which I like! I’m totally not a skinny jeans body type, so I appreciate the extra room.

One negative was the placement of the size tag on the outside of the pant. It is also durable and I thought it might rip the stitching when I tore it off. Overall I am happy with these and plan to buy several more pair.

In 2008 my best friend lost his place and moved in with me. I had never heard of Red Kap before that, but he was a Nissan technician and got me a temporary job during the holidays. As such, i came to own my first pair of these pants.

I’m a guy, I don’t think much about fashion or really clothes in general. I wear what is available. But that all changed when I realized a month ago, in December 2019, that these were the ONLY pants I still owned from that time in my life.

I have gone and spent $50-$75 on jeans one to three times per year. All of them ripped or wore down to nothing. I have bought secondhand jeans, jackies and slacks. All of them rip within a year. It never fails, I spend so much money on clothes just by replacing the pair I just ripped.

I don’t go buy clothes to make me feel good (that’s what coffee is for) I buy them because I lost a pair and needed another. But these Red Kaps. I rebuilt my Honda with them in a gravel driveway. 2 months off full-time work tearing it apart and putting it back together, of welding, painting, straining against rust and using my legs as an anchor.

In the rain, in a little blood, a lot of oil, and an ocean of rust. I’ve built 2 houses in these, often wearing them for 3-4 days on end because all my other pants had split open and I didn’t have time to go shopping until a job was wrapped up.

And without ever once ironing them, they still have the crease in the front, they still fit without a belt, and they don’t have a single stain (though they do have a lot of paint on them, but paint rests over the surface and isn’t a stain so much as something I should’ve scraped off by now.

) My wife wanted to get me jeans for Christmas and I explained I like these pants instead. After realizing how long I owned them, she educated me on the details of clothing manufacturing. Next thing you know, we’d agreed I should buy a bulk order of these pants and wear them the rest of my life.

Don’t need anything else, really.

Finding clothing that actually fits well and is durable has been a life -long challenge. I recently discovered on-line ordering and Red Kap clothing line. I decided to give both a try. I am very pleased with the quality of product and the actual fit of the pants.

And I was pleased with the results of product after several times of them being laundered. I’m now a RED KAP fan and will be purchasing these pants on from now on. A hard to fit happy man I am.

Bought these jeans for my son-in-law who must wear flame resistant jeans for his job starting the new year as a job requirement. he wears a 31 x 32 jean but they did not come in that size- I saw these jeans were for men with waist of 30 to 32 size.

Bought them and they fit him perfectly. They are thinner material than the carhart jeans but he said these would definitely be great for summer when the weather is hotter out, plus the price at $36. 45 was great.

He is going to order 2 more pairs for the price of one pair of the carhart jeans.

I wear a Size 36/32. According to size recommendation on Cyberweld, I should order the 34. So I did. Received them yesterday and no, there is no way this fits 36-38. Will be sending them back to get the 36.

I beat the hell out of pants. I work very hard in Maine’s tough climate. I typically wear a pair for a week or so at a time, then wash, and out it back into rotation. I go through the best of Brunt’s major competitor’s “work” pants about four months at most.

Destroyed. I haven’t had my pair of Brunt Martins for long, but they clearly are super bomb proof. The devil is in the details, and the reinforced cuff, gussetted crotch, abrasion proof fabric and rugged spot for knife clips are what real tradespeople need.

I will buy a couple more pairs, and Brunts will be the only pants in my thankless pant rotation. If they wear anything like the Brunt Bolduc boots I bought a few months back, they’ll be the last pants I ever wear.

Very comfortable with just enough stretch. Pockets are intuitively positioned and held all my daily pocket carry items. I appreciate the clean lines. The lack of hooks, loops, dingleballs, and other misc crap hanging off them is refreshing.

I have big thighs (26”) so the gusseted crotch is another very welcome feature. If they hold up to work abuse and laundering as advertised they will be a solid choice. Couple of minor gripes. They sit a little lower on the waist than I prefer, are a tad snug across the front (zipper) area, and likely due to the gusseted crotch, the zipper doesn’t go down far enough.

This necessitates unbuttoning AND unzipping to take a leak. Minor issues and likely preferencial more than a flaw. Definitely not deal breakers but enough to rate them at a 4 vice a 5. I tend to like a more classic fit and these seem to be more modern.

YMMV, especially if you have different proportions.

Ordered these pants in great anticipation of them being great for work. I read a bunch of reviews and heard great things about them also. I’m 6’0 tall and 165 lbs. I ordered 30”x34” pair. When I received them and tried them on, the waist fit great, but I was worried a little about the length because it seemed it was maybe a 33” at best.

Wore them a couple of days and they felt good! I washed and dried them and the inseam shrunk up to probably a 31”. I’m one that likes to have extra length on my pants, so probably end up giving these away.

Wish there was an option for a 36” inseam. Sorry, just being honest.

One of the worst things about being a tall guy is when you’re not a ‘big’ guy- these are the perfect cut if you’re lean, perfect slim, not skinny, but they don’t make you look like some 90’s rapper on the site.

Seemingly super tough too- as a finishing carpenter, I need some pants that will take some abuse up and down on my knees, hanging random tools off my pockets, but will still move with me. The real test will come when Canadian winter rolls around, but so far I am really really happy with my purchase, and I hope the 1620 crew will keep these available for years to come, they’re all I want to wear now.

I ordered two pairs. I tried on one and they were great!good fit and very comfortable. Wore them to work for two days and busted out the second pair. They were different. Stiffer fabric, not as much stretch, and way looser fit especially in the crotch which I do not like.

I closely compared the two and they are just made slightly different and from different countries. One made in Bangladesh, the other in China. I don not think ill order these again due to the fact that im not sure what ill be getting.

Bangladesh made pair=5 stars, China made pair=2 stars. 1 star overall due to inconsistencies in product.

I have been wearing Carhartt pants for many years until recently. The fit just isn’t the same any more so I started looking around and discovered Walls at a local retailer. I tried a pair and they were amazing.

Same durable double knees and fabric but MUCH better quality and fit overall. The flexible waist band is key. Love the hidden pocket inside the front pocket too. I went out and bought four more pairs immediately and won’t look back.

Just picked up 2 pair of Ditchdiggers over the weekend. I love everything about them so far, but I’d like to see one addition. I’m a maintenance technician by trade and these fit the bill with one exception.

I don’t anywhere without 2 things. My tactical flashlight, and my lockback knife. Both have pocket clips on them and both are about 5″ long. I used to buy Duluth Flex carpenter pants but the thinner single knees are the first thing to go.

I usually have my flashlight in my right front pocket, and my knife was clipped in to the wide, flat, tape measure loop sewn on the right leg. I slip reading glasses into the other leg pocket. If these pants had a flat loop or maybe a 5″X2″ straight cut pocket on either leg really, next to the front pocket, they’d be perfect for me.

My first time purchase. I didn’t really know what to expect. My only exposure to this company was catalogs which had drawings rather than pictures. I never really considered buying anything until the Black Friday sale.

Fast forward to today. I’ve had a chance to work in these pants for a few days. I’m rebuilding a deck on the second floor which requires lots of up and down the ladder, stooping to pick up stuff, etc.

I have to say these are the best work pants I’ve ever worn. I was blown away by how functional the pants were designed. There was a lot of attention to detail that went into making these pants and it shows.

Velcro in the back pocket to secure the flap inside if you want to leave the back pocket open?! Really!? It’s stuff like that really made me take notice. These guys obviously use the pants they sell.

I used to wear military bdu trousers. Never again. It’s no contest. Fit and finish was excellent! These pants were made to actual published size unlike most pant makers sizes which are all over the place.

I’m looking forward to buying more of their gear. Nice work ladies and gentlemen @ DT!.

I don’t often brag about a clothing product, but I will today. I have been with holding these events. I have two events involving these DT fire hose pants. One happened to my brother and the other event happened to my father at different times.

Weird, right? Just pants. I don’t even personally like them, but these pants certainly mitigated serious injuries, if not saved the lives for my brother and my father both and for different reasons. My brother was wearing a pair as he lost balance while pouring cement for a tall wall.

That is his business and he does this nearly everyday. He was high up, over 15 feet, with concrete below him. He got knocked off balance and no fault of his own and wasn’t wearing fall protection and would have fallen had it not been for these pants.

His pants got snagged on the piece of protruding rebar from the cement form. Now, he could have been injured from that rebar, but because he was wearing those DT fire hose pants, it snagged him and held him 15 feet above the concrete below long enough for him to regain his balance.

So, the pants protected him from leg injury and also from falling 15 feet onto concrete. The other story happened just a couple months ago. My father was sawing wood with a chainsaw. Yeah, you see it coming right? He is 77 years old and still saws his own wood for his home furnace.

Long story short, his saw was about to get pinched into the tree. He jerked it out, but at the same time he slipped, the chainsaw swung around and cut completely thru his DT pants and deep into his kneecap and to the bone.

Deep and wide cut. He was able to just drive his tractor back home in time but nearly passed out from the injury blood loss. He and his doctor both know for certainty that his DT firehose pants slowed the chainsaw chain very quickly and both he and the doctor both know for certain that those pants reduced the severity of his injury.

They love those pants and patched them since they now mean something.

These pants are definetly pretty great. I admire Duluth and a lot of their products. I’m so glad of the trim fit section because (and i think i speak for a lot of people) contrary to popular belief, not all of us in the construction industry are big fat guys with our cracks hanging out.

Though i find a great deal of their products to be thoroughly satisfactory, i must say it troubles me sometimes to find that there is also a fair amount of room for improvement. Honestly, when i find any of their products lacking in something, it sort of pulls at my heart, like “Why, Duluth, whyyy??” No doubt it must have something to do with the recent expansion towards mass-production and the unfortunate focus on gimmicky features over practical functionality.

That said, I really do like these pants a lot. I would highly recommend them to anyone on the more athletic or slim side, especially to men like myself who find that more often than not they are torn between choosing a standard fit that feels much too big and a skinny fit that feels much to tight.

That’s where Duluth’s trim fit section has really impressed me. The fit is great, but i really do wish they would make a 30×34 because a lot of us thinner guys are taller than a 32 inseam and have to either deal with up-sizing to a waist that’s too big or staying with an inseam that’s too short.

I normally wear a 32 but in Duluth sizes apparently i’m a 30. I won’t go too in depth on the other features of the pants. They’re great. The only other problem i had with these pants is that on cold, windy days i definitely felt a good amount of wind getting through.

This may prove to be a blessing in the summer, though. Bur again, the main thing i would really love to see for these pants which is in fact the very reason for my writing of this review, (and i know it’s been said before by quite a few other reviewers here ) : PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, DULUTH, PLEASE START MAKING THESE IN A 30 WAIST X 34 INSEAM!.
